Episode #10087

Justice: I'd love to marry you right now. The trouble is we have no witness. My wife's visiting the kids in Scranton, so there's no one to stand up for you.

Angie: Yes, there is.

Jake: Excuse me -- thank you. Sit down.

Amanda: No, I'm fine.

Jake: Sit down, sit down, sit down. Sit down.

Amanda: I'm fine.

Jake: What are you doing here? You're supposed to be resting.

Amanda: I'm here for a sonogram. Dr. Pierce wants to make sure the baby's ok.

Jake: Uh-huh. Why didn't you call me? I would have given you a ride.

Amanda: Because I thought I might bail on the appointment.

Jake: Listen to me. You have got nothing to worry about.

Amanda: Except David. Jake, please tell me you found someone to adopt the baby.

Judge: Legally, it's not kidnapping. You haven't broken the law.

David: But you have. So unless you want to wake up tomorrow morning with the headlines reading "Judge Cokehead," you'll get this done.

Judge: I'll see what I can do.

David: Do it -- fast.

[Cell phone rings]

David: Hayward. I'm very happy to hear that. Thanks.

Krystal: Did they find Little A?

David: No, not yet.

Krystal: Well, what was the big news?

David: Adam and J.R. are going to be charged with kidnapping.

Krystal: Well, if that happens --

David: The Chandlers lose, and Little A will be ours.

Erica: I'm afraid I have some bad news.

J.R.: Uh, well, what's wrong? Did something happen to my father?

Erica: Maybe we should speak privately.

J.R.: Uh-huh. Hey, buddy, I bet you Melissa's done with those cupcakes, and she'll let you put sprinkles on top. What do you say? Ok, go ahead.

Erica: J.R., your father collapsed. It all happened so fast.

J.R.: Oh, my God. Oh, my God -- is my father dead?

Kendall: What is this?

Zach: Petition for divorce.

Kendall: You want a divorce?

Zach: Our marriage is over. I moved out. You moved on. Just a formality.

[Zach drops packet]

Kendall: Reese just came by here to apologize again, to explain. She said that she's more committed than ever to getting Bianca back. So I -- so I thought that --

Zach: So you thought what? They worked it out, so we can, too?

Kendall: Don't we owe it to the boys to at least try?

Zach: We have tried. Over and over again -- it doesn't work. You know why? Because you're still in love with Ryan Lavery.

Ryan: I got a message for Slater. I'm ready to put everything I own on the line and take you down, man to man, winner takes all.

Aidan: That's a bold move.

Ryan: Yeah? One other thing -- that winner is going to be me.

[Cell phone rings]

Ryan: Hello.

Jake: Hey, Ryan, it's Jake. Listen, the lab finished comparing Greenlee's DNA to the body found in Connecticut, so they said they're sending the lab results over now.

Ryan: I'll be right there. Slater took everything from me, and now it's time for me to return the favor.

Justice: I'll give you folks a few minutes.

Randi: How did you know?

Jesse: Are you kidding me? I saw you bolt from your building in that dress -- clue.

[Laughter]

Jesse: I grabbed Angela, and we followed you here. Called Natalia from the car.

Angie: She's on her way with Brot and Taylor. But I can tell them not to come.

Frankie: No, are you kidding? I want you all here.

Randi: We both do.

Frankie: Randi and I -- we're both grateful for all your help with the wedding planning.

Randi: It's just that, with Frankie's redeployment --

Frankie: I didn't want to wait.

Angie: You don't have to explain. Your father and I did the same thing.

[Angie chuckles]

Angie: Running off in the middle of the night --

Jesse: Showing up at the justice of the peace at some ungodly hour, right?

Angie: Yeah. Well, those memories got me through a lot of nights.

Jesse: Me, too.

Randi: And this will get me through all the nights until you come home.

Jake: Ok, so where were we? I haven't found an adoptive family yet, ok, but I'm working on it. These things take time.

Amanda: Come on. How hard could it be? Just pick someone.

Jake: Well, it's not a used car we're trying to get rid of here. I mean, this is a child and a child's future.

Amanda: I'm aware of that. I -- just promise you'll stick with the plan, ok? I mean, it's going to be hard enough to deliver this baby somewhere and make everyone think that it died.

Jake: Ok, well, just making sure that this is what you want, because once you do this, there's no going back.

Amanda: It's the only way to protect this baby.

Jake: I don't get it. I mean, he said he's going to leave you alone.

Amanda: Even if he did for a little bit, he would change his mind eventually.  He will come after this baby just like he's going after Little A. Please, Jake, we can't let that happen.

Jake: David's not going to get anywhere near this child.

David: So we just have to be patient, all right, and let the legal system do its job.

Krystal: But what if it's too late? I mean, if that really was Little A's location that Erica handed to J.R. on that piece of paper, he could be on the runway right now. I just wish I had followed him while I had the chance.

David: No, listen, I have people at the airport and the train station. J.R. has not made a move yet, which could also mean that Little Adam is closer than we think.

Erica: Your father's in a hospital in Philadelphia under Stuart's name. He's in stable condition. The thing is, the doctors still aren't sure what caused him to collapse, so they're running tests.

J.R.: I've got to go see him.

Erica: No, I don't think that would be a good idea.

J.R.: He's sick, he's alone, he needs -- I need to go check on him.

Erica: Yeah, but you've already run a huge risk even coming here -- you know that. I mean, what if David Hayward followed you? I mean, he could be tipping off the police even as we speak.

J.R.: Well, let him barge on in here. He'll see that Little Adam's with his legal guardian.

Erica: And since when has the law stopped David Hayward?

J.R.: That bastard has gone after my wife, my mother -- now he almost kills my father? No, no, Hayward's got to go down now.

Kendall: As soon as Ryan saw that ring he gave Greenlee, that was it for him. It was over. He had no more hope, no more future. It was like he died, too. And, Zach, I felt the same way. My best friend was gone. My husband just left me. I mean, we walked out of there into total darkness, just feeling lost and alone.

Zach: Lost and alone? So you had sex with him?

Kendall: It was a mistake.

Zach: So you only slept with him once? Thought not.

Kendall: Listen to me, Zach. Zach, before Connecticut, I apologized. I apologized, and I asked you to please stay home. I asked you to come back. And you told me it was too late. And then you said you wanted to sleep with Reese. And I was hurt and confused, and I -- I needed a friend. So -- so I went to Ryan. I mean, can you really blame me for that?

Zach: I don't blame you for anything.

Kendall: At least I respect you enough to tell you the truth. I mean, you -- you lusted after another woman for months and refused to admit it.

Zach: Well, I appreciate your honesty. And now I would appreciate you being honest with me and be honest with yourself. I mean, you know that this marriage was in trouble for a long time, way before Reese. And you know why. Because you love Ryan. Always have and always will.

Krystal: You're saying that Little Adam never left Pine Valley?

David: Yeah.

Krystal: He left on Adam's jet.

David: I had someone check the flight plan. The plane took off, but there's no record of it landing in Europe or anywhere else. Which is not surprising considering Adam could barely pay for a taxi to the airport.

Krystal: Wait, wait, but the plane has to be somewhere.

David: Yeah, it's probably in some hangar outside of town. And that piece of paper you saw Erica hand to J.R. -- I bet you it did have an address on it, an address that's local, so Daddy can watch his little boy blow out the candles.

Krystal: Oh, God. My grandson's first birthday without his mama, and I couldn't be there.

David: We're going to get him back, all right? And you will never miss another birthday with your grandson again.

J.R.: Look, I got to see him. I got to see my dad.

Erica: No, I want you to take care of Little Adam, and I'll take care of your father.

J.R.: That means one of two things. You're going to whack him, or you really do love him.

Erica: Well, now I know you're your father's son. You're as delusional as he is.

J.R.: You're really going out on a limb here. I know it's not because you love me.

Erica: Ok, look. I convinced your father to invest a great deal of money in Fusion, and in this economy, he really could lose everything. So I can't control the economy, but I can make sure that Adam gets the best possible medical care. And you can help him, too. You can help him by getting his grandson as far away from David Hayward as possible.

J.R.: I just don't want my dad going down for anything.

Erica: I'll do everything I can.

J.R.: Promise me one thing, though. When I get Little A out of the country, you tell the police that my father's been in the hospital this entire time. I made up the story about the vacation so I could kill time so I could make the plans.

Erica: Ok, of course. Look, now I really should go myself.

J.R.: Erica --

Erica: What?

J.R.: One more thing -- tell my dad that I love him.

Zach: There have always been three people in this marriage -- you, me, and Ryan.

Kendall: So, what, you're saying our relationship is a sham? That I never loved you?

Zach: No. I think you loved me as much as you could. Then there was Ryan.

Kendall: Zach, that's ridiculous.

Zach: Is it? How many times did I ask you to stay out of his business? But you couldn't. You just want to control everything he does. And he found somebody. He found Annie. He was happy. He got married, and you had to break them up.

Kendall: Yeah, with good reason. I didn't want Spike to have a psycho killer for a stepmother.

Zach: Or because you didn't want him to be with another woman.

Kendall: No, that's -- that's crazy. I -- I practically forced him to be with Greenlee.

Zach: You pushed him towards Greenlee so he wouldn't be around you, and you just -- you didn't want to be tempted.

Kendall: No. I'm your wife. I want to be with you.

Zach: I know a part of you does, a big part. And when we're together -- I was thinking about us. There's something missing here. What is it? And I finally figured it out. It's a piece that belongs to Ryan.

Kendall: Zach, Ryan is my friend. He is my friend. I just want him to be happy. That's why I pushed him to be with Greenlee. Not because I was afraid of what I'd do if he was available.

Zach: But the second he was, you went to bed with him. From the morgue to his bed. I know this is an awful thing to say, but I'm glad Greenlee isn't here to see this, to see what a great friend you really are.

Jake: Did you see an envelope at all? There's something I'm expecting. It should have my name on it.

Nurse: I haven't seen anything.

Gayle: Ah, is this what you're looking for?

Jake: Ah, you're a lifesaver. Thank you, thank you. Where was that, just out of curiosity? Hey.

Ryan: Hey.

Jake: Um --

Ryan: Well, you must be making some serious overtime, huh, Aidan?

Aidan: I'm not here for Zach.

Ryan: Really? Well, then why do you keep following me around all over the place, showing up at the hospital, showing up at Fusion --

Jack: Because I called him. I thought Greenlee's ex-husband should be here when we got the DNA results.

Jake: Sorry.

Kendall: You're right. You're right. I have spent way too much time and energy on Ryan, just like you have with Reese. But what matters right now is us, Zach. Our marriage has been tested in every way possible. I mean, I thought you were dead. You thought I may never wake up. We almost lost both of our boys. But our love for each other and for our family, it always gets us through.

Zach: Not anymore.

Kendall: If anyone should want to quit, it should be me. But I don't. I want to fight.

Zach: And I don't? I fought. We both did, and it's just -- it's never enough.

Kendall: We have two beautiful boys. We have -- we have a home. We have a life.

Zach: Yeah. We had a life before this. And you can't let go of it, so how can we move into the future if you keep clinging to the past?

Kendall: Including other people in our lives is not clinging to the past. I could be close with someone. I could spend time with them and --

Zach: Sleep with them.

Kendall: All right, Zach, if you feel this way -- I mean, if you really feel that we're -- that we're just doomed, then why didn't you get out a long time ago?

Zach: I don't know. Waiting for a miracle, I guess. I was looking at you when you were in the coma. Just thinking, "Hey, we're going to be ok when you come out of this. We're going to start over and everything's going to be fine." You came out, and we're here.

Kendall: Are you kidding me? Are you kidding me? My whole world was turned upside down.

Zach: I tried to explain to you what happened, and you shut me out.

Kendall: What did you expect?

Zach: I expected you to try. Before the coma, at least you tried, you pretended to try.

Kendall: You're surprised that I'm different? I had my heart cut out and my brother's stuck in.

Zach: And I would love to blame your brother for this. It has nothing to do with him. It's us. It's all on us.

Kendall: Ok, all right. Ok. I -- I accept that. I -- I agree with you. We both made mistakes. And we're both at fault.

Zach: Yeah. You hung on to Ryan, and I hung on to you. It's time one of us let go. Let it be me.

Jack: Jake, when can you release the body to me?

Jake: I can -- I'll, uh -- I can get the forms now.

Jack: Thanks. You know, you both loved Greenlee. You know she wouldn't want to see you at each other's throats. She's at peace. I hope you two can be also.

Jack: She's gone. What the hell is there left to fight over, Aidan?

Aidan: Plenty.

Jake: Well, maybe you can put a rush on that because Mr. Montgomery -- that's the father -- he would like his daughter transferred to the crematorium as soon as possible. Yes. Ok, thanks.

David: Huh. So the DNA match confirms it, huh? The body turned out to be Greenlee's. Poor Jackson. Well, at least he has closure now, even if it did take too long.

Jake: Why don't you stop pretending like you really care.

David: I've been where he is, Jake, waiting to learn the truth about a child. It's comforting to know that we have science to give us the answers that people can't -- or won't, for selfish reasons.

Jake: You know, Amanda just wants to keep her baby safe, Dave. That's all she's trying to do.

David: Who said anything about Amanda? I made a simple comment about alternative ways to acquire information.

Jake: Oh, like, blackmail, for example.

David: You should know that I signed a legal document stating that I have no interest in Amanda's child. But as for my grandson, J.R. is a pathetic excuse for a human being who has no business making children, let alone raising them.

Jake: There you go, talking about yourself again.

J.R.: Hey, Colby, it's me. I don't have much time. Can you get the passports out of the safe? We'll pick them up, and we'll say goodbye. All right. Hey, I've got one more surprise for you. Would you like a hint? It has to do with an airplane.

Little A: A trip!

J.R.: That's right. A very special trip. It's just going to be you and me. We're going to have a blast. Whoop. You know how much I love you, right?

Little A: I love you, too, Daddy.

Frankie: Man, you have been there with me on some of the worst days of my life, and now you're here on the happiest.

[Brot chuckles]

Frankie: I'm glad you made it.

Brot: Me, too. Me, too.

Frankie: Who knows, maybe one day I'll be able to return the favor.

Taylor: Hey.

Randi: I really think it's fine.

Angie: You ever see a bride do a face-plant down the aisle?

Taylor: Me? No.

[Natalia and Angie chuckle]

Angie: Me, either, and I don't want to, so you better let me work on that hem.

Frankie: Hey, how's it going in there?

Angie: The same as the last time you asked -- fine.

[Taylor chuckles]

Angie: You know, he is more nervous than Jesse was on our wedding day.

Natalia: It's too much.

Frankie: Oh, I heard that.

[Randi laughs]

Taylor: Are you nervous?

Randi: Um, well, I wasn't till now.

[Laughter]

Natalia: No, don't be nervous. Look at it this way. If you fall, at least you have a good story to tell your kids.

Angie: Oh, what, let's -- let's hold off on the kids right now, ok, please?

Natalia: Oh, sorry, my bad.

Jesse: Go easy, baby. They have plenty of time.

[Angie laughs]

Angie: Jesse's right. You and Frankie have a long, happy future in front of you.

Randi: I hope so. But if this is all that Frankie and I get -- one incredible night, then it doesn't really matter what happens, because no matter what, we'll always be husband and wife.

[Music plays]

Zach: Take the rest of the night off.

Singer: Nothing about her nothing but sorrow nothing about love nothing but grief only heartaches

Erica: Jake, hi.

Jake: Hi.

Erica: Hi.

Jake: How are you?

Erica: Fine. Is your father here?

Jake: No, no, my dad's on medical leave.

Erica: Is -- is he all right?

Jake: Uh, well, sure. There's just not enough room in this hospital for my father and David's ego. Is there something I can help you with?

Erica: Oh, well, I was just actually hoping that your father could give me a recommendation for a specialist.

David: Well, Kendall already has the finest cardiothoracic surgeon in the country.

Jake: See what I'm talking about? I'll have my dad call you.

Erica: Great. Thank you.

David: Well, that won't be necessary. If Erica needs a recommendation, as chief of staff, I'll be happy to provide it.

Jake: Fine.

David: So what's this about, Erica? Why do you need a specialist?

Erica: Kendall is -- well, she has not been herself since the transplant. Her body, it's healing beautifully, but her behavior -- she actually seems like a different person. So I'm concerned that maybe something's wrong.

David: Hmm. Well, your daughter is fine. If you're seeing a difference, it's because from the moment she woke up, she was hit with one shock after another. She just needs some time to adjust. Kind of like Adam and J.R. are going to need time to adjust to prison once they get arrested for kidnapping my grandson.

Erica: David, don't be ridiculous. They have custody.

David: News flash -- there's a warrant out for their arrest. You've been in the slammer, so when you talk to Adam, you might want to give him some of your survival tips.

Ryan: Hey. Emma is at a -- what's wrong?

Kendall: Zach wants a divorce.

Ryan: So he can be with Reese.

Kendall: No, so I can be with you. Zach thinks I could never fully love him because I'm still in love with you.

Ryan: So Zach does all this damage, and he trashes your marriage, and then -- and then he blames you.

Kendall: He's setting me free, letting me follow my heart. My heart is with him. And I tried to tell him that, but he wouldn't listen. He just -- he shoved the papers in my face and walked out. And I stood there like an idiot, begging for a second chance.

Ryan: You have any idea how lucky you are? What I would give for another chance, five minutes, even if spent the entire time just screaming at each other. But I can't have that. And I know that now because the DNA results came back. She's gone.

Kendall: You went to the hospital alone? Ryan, let me help, please.

Ryan: How can you help,

Kendall:? How? Can you bring Greenlee back? Can you give me the five minutes with the woman I love? I mean, I know you would if you could, but you can't.

Ryan: I was supposed to have a life with her. Now I have ashes. I have ashes. That's all I have. And Zach did this. He ruined my future, he ruined your future. And what happens to him in this? Nothing. Nothing. Not a damn -- thing!

Aidan: Ryan has some news for you that he wanted me to pass along to you.

Zach: About what? Kendall? It's too late. My marriage is over.

Aidan: Ryan's still determined to take you down, and he's coming at you head-on. Winner walks away with everything. I think it's crazy.

Zach: I think it's the first stand-up thing the man's done. Say I'm looking forward to it.

Jesse: Hey. What's wrong? You ok?

Natalia: It's just Randi and Frankie are so happy.

Jesse: And you look like you're about to cry because --

Natalia: Mom won't be at my wedding. She won't be there to --

Jesse: Hey, hey.

Natalia: Help me pick out a dress or walk me down the aisle or make sure I don't trip on my hem.

Jesse: I'm going to be there for you. All right? I'll be there when you get married. I'll be there for everything. Most important, I'll be there to put the fear of God into your future husband.

[Jesse chuckles]

Jesse: There you go. Listen to me. Look at me. Your mother will be there, too, sending energy from whatever far-off place she has traveled to. All right?

Frankie: I ship out in, like, three weeks. Is there any chance we get this wedding going on before then?

Angie: Not if you keep hovering.

Frankie: Mom, come on. We got to get this -- this thing on the road. We got to get it going.

Angie: She just wants everything to be perfect.

Frankie: I -- I am marrying the most incredible woman in the world. What can be more perfect than that?

[Angie laughs]

Frankie: Oh.

Jake: The baby's fine. Ok? And in a couple of minutes, you'll be able to see that for yourself, and this time around, I think you're going to be able to see fingers, and toes, and the sex, and I bet you 20 bucks -- 20 bucks that it's a girl.

Amanda: I don't want to know or see anything. I don't even want to look. That would make this real.

Jake: Well, it's pretty real. It's as real as it's going to get.

Amanda: Right now I'm just an oven. This is just something baking inside of me. But as soon as I look at that screen and see something more than a blob with a heartbeat, I'll get all attached, and it'll just make this adoption that much harder.

Doctor: Ms. Dillon, ready to see your baby?

Gayle: Paging Dr. Martin. Dr. Jake Martin to the fifth-floor nurses' station. Dr. Jake Martin to the fifth-floor nurses' desk immediately, please.

Jake: I'll be back.

Doctor: Lie back and relax.

David: Wow. That is one good-looking kid.

Amanda: What are you doing in here?

David: Just admiring the baby we made, Amanda. Dr. Pierce, why don't you turn the monitor around so Amanda can see?

Amanda: That's ok. I'm good.

David: This is a tremendous moment for a mother-to-be. Why would you want to miss it?

Krystal: A child is in danger. My grandson is only 5 years old. If you don't find him, then --

Officer: Ma'am, there is a full APB out on the Chandlers. As soon as I hear anything, I will let you know.

[Krystal sighs]

[Phone rings]

Krystal: J.R.?

Little A: Hi, Nana.

Krystal: Little A -- honey, honey, where are you?

Little A: At the house with Daddy. We're going on a trip.

[Krystal sighs]

Krystal: Well, that -- that sounds like fun, baby. Where -- where's Daddy taking you? Little A? Hello? Hello?

Krystal: J.R., where are you? Where is he? Where is Little A?

Colby: On vacation with Dad.

Krystal: Don't lie to me. Little A, it's Nana, honey. Come on down here.

Colby: Krystal, he's not here. It's just me and Lucretia.

Krystal: Little A called me from J.R.'s cell. He said he was here with his daddy, getting ready to go on a trip. Now, for the last time, where is he?

Colby: Check the house if you don't believe me. I'll help you.

Krystal: J.R., J.R., stop! No, you can't take him!

["Wedding March" plays]

Randi: So much for a story to tell our kids.

[Laughter]

Justice: Be seated. Welcome, everyone. We're gathered here today to witness and celebrate the marriage of Franklin Quentin Hubbard and Randi Morgan. A marriage is a journey, and along the way, you will find great joy and also great challenges. But no matter what life brings, you will triumph because you've already done the hard part. You found each other. Do you, Randi, take Franklin to be your husband?

Randi: I do. Frankie, the love that you've given me has been the greatest gift anyone has ever given me. At first, I didn't think that I deserved it, but you made me believe in myself. You made me believe in a future. You gave me confidence, hope, a family. You gave me my life back. And I plan to spend it loving you with everything I have.

Justice: Franklin, do you take Randi to be your wife?

Frankie: I do. My mom and dad have taught me so much, but more than anything, they taught me that true love is real. And when it comes along, you grab it and you never let it go. Before we met, I was lost. I had a life, but what did it mean? Your love changed it. It gave it purpose, direction. It is the light that will always point me back to home.

Justice: May I have the rings?

Frankie: Hmm. Actually, I don't have one.

Angie: I do.

Randi: No, Angie, I couldn't.

Angie: Jesse's mother gave him this ring, and I have always wanted to pass it down to Frankie to give to his wife, my new daughter. I love you so much.

Frankie: I love you.

Randi: Thank you.

Justice: Franklin, place the ring on Randi's finger and repeat after me. With this ring, I thee wed.

Frankie: With this ring, I thee wed.

Justice: By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss the bride.

[Applause]

[Cheers]

David: In case you change your mind.

Jake: Hey, so you did great. Don't let him rattle your cage. All right?

Amanda: A few more months, that's it. Then this baby will be gone, and all David will have left are these stupid pictures.

Little A: Daddy, I dropped my cow.

J.R.: I know, but we can't go back right now.

Little A: We have to. Mama gave it to me.

J.R.: I am so sorry, buddy, but we got to get on our plane right now.

[Siren]

Rachael: "The old wolf slowly crept out toward the boy. The goat swiftly scattered to the --"

Zach: Story time. My favorite. Spikey, hi.

Rachael: Would you mind taking over? Ian's upstairs sleeping. I am so sorry to ask, but my mother's sick again.

Zach: Oh, no, I'll watch these guys till Kendall gets home.

Rachael: She's not coming home. I told her I'd stay the night.

Zach: Ok. I hope your mom's ok. Go check on her.

Rachael: Thank you.

Zach: So what were you doing? Reading this book? Can I talk to you for a minute?

Spike: Bus --

Zach: I know, but listen. I want to talk to you. This is just man-to-man stuff. I -- I know I haven't been around that much. Your mom and I were going through some stuff, but now I'll always be there for you, ok? I'll always be here. And I'll always be your dad. Yeah.
