Krystal: Paging Dr. Hayward. All prepped and ready for my exam.
David: You're in perfect condition.
Krystal: Don't you want to check me out?
David: Oh, I'm pretty sure I gave you a thorough workout last night. Mmm. This feels like an emergency.
David: Now, what happened to the woman I resuscitated last night?
Krystal: You like?
Krystal: The hospital staff's going to get these for the Campbell's Heart Health campaign.
David: I likey. I'm going to have to perform the procedure all over again. Come here, come here.
Krystal: No, no, we got to get to the hospital.
David: No, no -- don't panic. You're in masterful hands.
Amanda: David won't admit that he was lurking around Bianca's wedding, but I am sure that I saw him there.
Amanda: Now I think he's really hiding something major.
Jake: Yeah, and if we nail him, what are we going to nail him for? Crashing a party?
Amanda: I know it's lame and pathetic.
Jake: Look --
Jake: I'm going to get the information on David. I just need a little more time, ok? If I can get a little --
Amanda: Time I don't have. David is threatening to tell J.R. everything -- how I was working for him when I drop-kicked him off the wagon.
Jake: Well, you're still propping him up and taking care of him every single day.
Amanda: Not anymore. David wants me to get a prime exhibit a for him for his custody suit. Make J.R. look like a terminal lush and nightmare dad or he spills everything to J.R.
Jake: Amanda, I'm just telling you, you cannot let David Hayward get that child.
Amanda: I have lied so much to so many people. Maybe I should go with the truth.
Jake: Well, that would be a radical move.
J.R.: You know, obviously, you're freaked out. What's going down?
Bianca: Oh, I've got an idea.
Jack: What's that?
Bianca: Come to Paris. Pack up your things and come with me tonight. And help me construct an airtight case for making my mother come, too.
Erica: I have a better idea. Forget Paris. Stay here.
Adam: Give me a bloody mary, please. Make it a double. Has Bianca packed up the girls and left for France?
Reese: Nope. Nope, she hasn't. And she's not in her room, but she does need to come back and pack. But every second she's not here is a second less that I have to spend with my daughter. Why am I telling you this? What are you doing here?
Adam: Looking for Erica. But I'm glad I arrived when I did. Has no one else advised you to fight for your child?
Reese: I just -- I don't want an ugly battle.
Adam: Well, Erica can be fierce, but I could finesse her. I mean, if you want.
Reese: In exchange for what?
Kendall: Well, you must be exhausted. Is your mattress not firm enough? Ah, you didn't sleep in your bed. Well, I can always get you a new mattress.
Kendall: No, it's not a big deal. I can just order one.
Zach: I'm not doing this.
[Ryan stands shirtless on his balcony]
Opal: Ryan? Ryan? Are you here -- ah! Oh -- God, you scared me senseless. Did you try to catch your death?
Opal: Oh, sorry. Poor choice, huh? No wonder you didn't hear me banging -- what, with the wind in your ears. Mind if I shut this?
Ryan: Is -- is Emma all right? Is she ok? Is --
Opal: I just dropped her off at school. They're predicting slush, so I thought I'd come by to get her boots.
Opal: Can I make you some tea, some hot chocolate?
Ryan: No, I'm fine. I'm -- I'm fine. You've done enough, Opal.
Opal: I haven't done zip. Well, I'll be on my way, then. Would you do me a favor? Bundle up if you're going to go back on the terrace. Or better yet, could you stay off the terrace for a while?
Ryan: What are you doing here? I thought you were on the road already.
Greenlee: I was. I turned around.
Kendall: Sorry. Was I boring you?
Zach: Oh, man, you know what I'm not going to do, Kendall? I'm not going to small-talk with you about mattresses or margarine or anything like that. We're going to talk about not sleeping in the same bed together. We're going to deal with reality.
Kendall: Reality. You want reality?
Kendall: Ok. My brother is dead. I will never see him again. The heart that I have was his. My husband and my sister also made a baby together and kept it a secret from me.
Zach: Can you do me a favor? Can you make this not sound like a grocery list?
Kendall: Now you're telling me how to express myself.
Zach: No, I'm telling you you're not expressing yourself. So why don't you start, huh? Talk to me. Yell at me if you want to. Hit me. Go ahead.
Kendall: No, it would be too exhausting.
Zach: Oh, ok. So you'd rather just lacquer over your pain and your anger, just do that?
Kendall: Hmm, anger and pain? No, uh-uh, I'll pass. Thank you.
Zach: I can't accept that.
Kendall: Fine. Then leave.
Zach: Is that what you want?
Kendall: I want -- a piece of toast.
Zach: What's going on here? The incision bothering you? What's going on?
Kendall: No. No, I have meds for that.
Zach: Your -- your heart's ok? So -- so --
Kendall: It's fine.
Zach: All right, what are you feeling right now?
Kendall: Hunger. It's time for breakfast. I would ask you to join me, but I don't think you would enjoy my small talk.
Erica: You suffered a devastating loss.
Bianca: You can't lose the love of someone who didn't really love you. A devastating loss is someone too precious to replace.
Erica: How did you get so wise?
Bianca: Well, I was parented within an inch of my life.
[Bianca and Erica chuckle]
Kendall: When Dad died, you stepped up for me. And I know that I can't begin to fill the void that Greenlee left, but you have a daughter in Paris. For what it's worth.
Jack: It's worth a lot.
Erica: Stay here.
Bianca: I can't. It's Kendall.
Erica: Kendall loves you.
Bianca: She needs to love me at a distance right now. Not forever, I hope, but for now. And she needs to relearn to trust her husband, and trust doesn't come easily to us Kane women, so that could take a while. Gabrielle and I would just be reminders. And she doesn't need that. Frankly, neither do I.
Reese: Ok, so where's the red meat in this family drama? You are completely unrelated to it.
Adam: It's a reflex. I flip into battle mode any time I see a parent being robbed of a child.
Reese: Except when you're doing the robbing?
Adam: Well, I am -- custody court is my second home, I must admit that. I could guide you through every nook and cranny, the judges, trusted allies. Nobody absconds with a Chandler child.
Amanda: I was concerned about the cramping, how to tell if it's the baby or not. Jake was saying better safe than sorry.
Jake: Right, so you know, lots of rest, minimum of stress, and here's all my money.
J.R.: Ok, so what was that really about?
Amanda: Like I said, we were talking about cramping.
J.R.: Are you cramping now? So what's got you so down?
Amanda: Nothing, I'm fine.
J.R.: Don't make me ask you 50 times.
Amanda: All right, fine. It's Adam. Makes me feel like I'm a flesh-eating disease.
J.R.: All right. Well, just ignore him.
Amanda: Yeah, I guess. The problem is, is I've felt like a flesh-eating disease for a major chunk of my adult life.
J.R.: I can definitely relate. But if I can get past it, you can get past it. Between you and me, we've stirred up a lot of danger in our lives, messing a lot of things up, but we've changed. We're different people. And we have a baby on the way, and we trust each other. Ok, I can't speak for you. You know, I trust --
Amanda: No, I trust you, J.R. I do.
J.R.: Good. Because I need you. Amanda, I am skating on some really thin ice right now. I told you Bianca's wedding got me thinking about Babe. She was just so happy. She just, like, shimmered.
J.R.: Now she's just a name on a plaque at a hospital.
Amanda: Babe is more than a name. She always will be to you, to me, to her son. To everyone who loved her.
Krystal: Babe never would eat her vegetables, but she would guzzle V8 by the quart. A mother's best trick -- veggies disguised.
David: All right, not yet. I have a toast. To Babe.
Krystal: To Babe.
David: And -- to us, her parents. To keeping her memory alive. To our stunning debut today.
Krystal: Wow. I mean, you are the new chief of staff, but what do I have to show?
David: What are you talking about? Who organized the Campbell's Heart Health benefit? You.
Krystal: Ok, maybe I do deserve a little bit of praise.
David: That's right, you do.
Ryan: Open it.
Singer: I could still fall in love with you again. I could close my eyes and be right there. But I'm so scared
Ryan's voice: If you don't -- if you don't like it --
Greenlee: I love it.
Singer: I'm so scared
Greenlee: I love you.
Singer: Yeah, I'm so scared you'll disappear
Jack: Oh, hey. It looks like you're going somewhere, huh?
Ryan: Yeah, I'm going somewhere. I'm going out. I'm going -- I don't know where I'm going, but I'm going.
Jack: Why don't you come with me?
Ryan: And where are you headed?
Jack: To Connecticut, to that river. Ryan, I need to say goodbye to my daughter. I thought maybe you might need to do that, too.
Reese: Custody suits, they're destructive. They're painful.
Adam: Perhaps that's why Bianca will fold.
Reese: No, I've already hurt her enough.
Adam: Nothing hurts like losing a child.
Reese: Look, I just hope that if I'm patient and in enough time, she will be able to forgive me. She will --
Adam: The Kane women sharpen their stilettos on hope and patience. Takes a will of steel to make them suffer. I think you're a bit deficient in that territory. So maybe you will harden up with time, but -- hmm, anyway -- tell Erica I'll catch up with her later.
Kendall: Wow, a Kane convention.
Erica: Well, the last one for a while, apparently, because your sister's flight is this evening.
Bianca: We won't stay long.
Kendall: Uh, what can I offer you? Can I give you some coffee, toast?
Erica: No, we've had breakfast. Thank you.
Kendall: Well, that's all I have to offer. I'm sorry.
Bianca: You have nothing to be sorry for.
Erica: Miranda wanted to come over and say goodbye, but she got a little cranky. She needed a nap.
Kendall: Naps are good.
Bianca: Well, would it be all right if I -- you know, kissed Ian and Spike?
Kendall: They're playing choo-choo upstairs with Rachael.
Erica: And, of course, you need to pack up the baby's things.
Kendall: Done, her suitcase is waiting in the nursery.
Bianca: Gabrielle is at the casino with Miranda and Jocelyn. Ok, well, um, I guess I'll just go upstairs and --
Erica: Well, why don't you have Kendall show you, um, where the suitcases that she packed up with Gabrielle's things in it?
Kendall: I didn't pack her suitcase. I had Rachael do it. Bianca can't miss it. It's sitting right out -- ok, fine.
Bianca: Well, I -- I guess this is goodbye.
Zach: Safe trip.
Bianca: Thank you. Take care.
Zach: Yeah. Kiss the girls.
Erica: May I ask what in the world is wrong with you?
Zach: You're going to have to narrow that down to a category.
Erica: Do you have no desire whatsoever to kiss your baby girl goodbye?
Zach: Hmm. My baby girl. So now, all of a sudden, you want me to play father to that little baby?
Erica: Yes, as a matter of fact, for your baby's sake, that's exactly what she would need, yes. But at the very least, I'd love you to show just a shred of normal human emotion.
Zach: Normal human emotion, huh? Normal human emotion -- now what does that mean? If I were normal, I probably wouldn't have been a donor to my wife's sister. And I probably wouldn't have kept her in the dark.
Erica: Ok, obviously, what's done is done. And your baby is going to be an ocean away very soon. Don't you at least need to see Gabrielle?
Erica: Well, if nothing else, for closure.
Zach: Closure? I don't know about closure. I think that's overrated. Some things in life are just not manageable and neat. Some mistakes can't be fixed.
Ryan: I'm not going. Because I've said goodbye to Greenlee too many times already. I said goodbye to her when she was pregnant, and I was a coward.
Jack: Yeah, Ryan, maybe you were, but she forgave you.
Ryan: I said goodbye to her when she left town, and I should have followed her. I said goodbye to her when I married Annie, and she tried to stop me, and I should have listened to her.
Jack: So what are you going to do -- beat yourself up for the rest of your life? Greenlee wouldn't want that.
Ryan: You have no idea what Greenlee would want, Jack.
Jack: And you do, Ryan? Look, what happened was nobody's fault.
Ryan: It was nobody's fault? It was an act of God? Ok, Jack, you keep telling yourself that. All of you can keep telling yourself that, but don't insult my intelligence, because I know better. And honestly, you should, too.
Krystal: I have got places to go, people to see, and about 80 sets of red scrubs to pass out.
David: All right. I'll see you later.
J.R.: You ok? Oh. Well, I guess now would be a good time to hit the pharmacy and get that refill.
Amanda: Yeah, I was just thinking the same thing.
J.R.: Yeah, it's funny how we do that.
Amanda: Hi. Bye.
Adam: Oh, such poise, such charm. Ah-ha.
J.R.: What are you doing here?
Adam: Haunting you. No, actually, I'm getting a cardio workup. Any objections?
J.R.: Yes. Quit icing Amanda out. She's carrying your grandchild.
Adam: Oh, perhaps.
J.R.: You see, that's what I mean.
Adam: Has Amanda complained?
J.R.: Yeah, says that you're a buzz kill.
Adam: There's a very good explanation for that. You see, I am a reminder of the various hurdles in Amanda's plot to rob you blind.
Krystal: Medium tall.
Man: All right.
Jake: What, I don't get one? Thanks. So I hear you're heading up this whole Heart Health party. That's very impressive.
Krystal: Yeah, well, it's not brain surgery.
Jake: But David's helping you out, I'm guessing, right?
Krystal: Oh, yeah, yeah. I've got him addressing invitations. That's real good use of his training.
Jake: Oh, I mean, it's -- you know, honoring Babe. I figured he'd -- or he should help you, but -- what, is he out of town or heading out of town for some consult or something?
Krystal: You know what? If you want a blow-by-blow of David's whereabouts, you're going to have to go to the source. Oh, but that's right -- you cannot do that, because you're too busy trying to label him as radioactive poison. Good luck with that.
Bianca: I'll miss the boys. So will Miranda. I'll miss you, too.
Kendall: What can I say?
Erica: Well, say what sisters are supposed to say. Say you love each other.
Bianca: Things have changed. Do you think you'll ever forgive me?
Kendall: Probably, but not anytime soon.
Bianca: But it's not out of the question?
Kendall: Out of the question, no.
Bianca: I want us to be as close as we were. I'm going to be hoping for that. And I'll be hoping for you and Zach, too. He loves you more than anything --
Kendall: I think I hear Ian.
Ryan: I need a double scotch. That seat is taken.
Zach: Yeah, it is. Vodka, please, double, on the rocks. Thank you.
Ryan: You know, Jack is throwing a party. A goodbye party for Greenlee. And you know where he's having it? He's having it right at the river, which I think is a really, really nice touch. You know, having the party right where Greenlee plunged to her death after she was run off the road. You should go, Zach. You might enjoy that, you know, in a twisted kind of way.
Zach: So I take it you're not going.
Ryan: I have another project.
Zach: Oh, that's right. That's what you said. Ok, well, let's drink to that. Hmm, I had another invitation today. Bianca's leaving to go back to Paris with Miranda and the baby.
Ryan: Your baby, Zach. Your baby. I mean, you don't have to be modest. Here's to spreading the Cambias seed, right? I mean, what is a baby party without the baby's daddy there?
Zach: I don't know. I'm not there.
Ryan: You have lots of times there, because the odds are Gaby will be alive for you to see her.
Zach: About your little project, I know you want to take me down. I don't think it's going to happen, but good luck with it. It's going to be fun to watch, in a twisted sort of way.
Ryan: We'll see.
Erica: There are other places to drink. Why don't you show the good taste to leave?
Reese: You are unbelievable.
Bianca: You're waiting here to say goodbye to Miranda and Gabrielle.
Reese: Do I have that right?
Bianca: I will go upstairs and get them. And no attacks.
J.R.: You know, Dad, I could just take Little Adam and myself and move into a penthouse. Is that what you'd like?
Adam: Don't be ridiculous.
J.R.: Then start treating Amanda with the respect that she deserves.
Adam: That's exactly what I've been doing.
J.R.: Amanda's the reason why I'm sober. Not to mention, she's carrying my child.
Adam: Or someone's.
J.R.: You know what, Dad? I'm just going to call Marian. I'm going to start looking for places to live tomorrow.
Adam: Have you given any thought lately to your son -- to how secure he feels in the home that he spent the bulk of his life? And have you completely forgotten his mother?
J.R.: Don't bring Babe into this.
Adam: You've saddled yourself with a gold-digging schemer. Is that how you honor your late wife?
David: No. Just me, your ally and benefactor.
Amanda: I'm sorry. I can't stay. J.R.'s waiting.
David: Listen to me. Tomorrow night, at the opening of Babe's cardiac wing, I want J.R. pickled in alcohol. You take him home, all right? You make sure that he's dead to the world before you send out an SOS to the Martins and the Hubbards -- J.R. is out of control. He strapped Little A into his sports car for a death ride. Who knows where they'd be right now if he hadn't passed out?
Amanda: David, listen --
David: Amanda, these are your instructions. You follow them to the letter, and you'll be fine.
Amanda: I'm sorry, I can't. No, I won't.
David: This is no time -- this is no time to try to be noble. It could land you in a world of hurt.
Amanda: J.R.'s sober. He loves his son. Little A deserves to be with his dad.
David: And you deserve to be on an island of shame, which is where you're going to be if you cross me.
Amanda: I am on J.R.'s side now. He'll see that.
David: Are you kidding? I have proof that I paid you a fortune to deep-six his custody rights.
Amanda: Ok, but I changed my mind.
David: Oh, really? Well, that's funny, because the money's still in your account.
Amanda: I got J.R. sober.
David: After you got him drunk.
Amanda: He will protect me because of this baby.
David: Snap out of it, sweetheart. Those pregnancy hormones are making you dumb as a plank. You are one little DNA test away from being kicked to the curb.
Krystal: Hey, is everything ok? It seems a little tense.
J.R.: Babe and Amanda were best friends.
Adam: Amanda has no heart, half a brain, and schizophrenia in her DNA. And that's the woman you want to entrust with Babe's sweet, gentle, loving little boy?
Krystal: Well, you have got one stubborn woman on your hands, but I guess you already knew that.
David: Amanda insists on working the event.
J.R.: No heavy lifting.
Amanda: Don't worry. I won't do anything that doesn't feel right.
David: Don't want to hurt that baby.
Ryan: Hey, whoa. Wow, the time got past me. It's after 3:00 already?
Emma: I made you a present.
Opal: I'll be on my way. You call me if you need anything.
Ryan: Opal, thank you. Really, for everything, thank you.
Opal: No problem.
Ryan: Ok. Ok, I guess I should open this, right? Let's see.
Emma: Don't you like it?
Ryan: No, I love it. I love it. It's absolutely -- it's magic.
Emma: I know. It's for Greenlee, too, because she loves butterflies. Can she see it from heaven?
Ryan: I bet she can.
Reese: Hey, Miranda. Hey.
Reese: Hey. Hi.
Reese: Well, yes. Hello. How are you? Hey, my little angel. Hey, I love you. I love you more than my own life. Yes, I do. And I will always love you. There will always be a piece of you in my heart.
Zach: Hello, beautiful. You're always going to be beautiful, aren't you? Boys are going to fall all over themselves. Well, wherever they fall, that's where you'll leave them. All right? Just keep moving. Stop only for the ones that look you in the eye. Don't be sad. We'll pick a hockey team. Huh? Don't even have to pick the Red Wings. Stay in the Western Conference, if you'd like. It's more fun if we disagree. I'm sure we will. Ok.
Emma: Can we send it to Greenlee in heaven?
Ryan: Wow, I don't know. Um, I guess we could try.
Emma: Yeah, let's try. Ok, Daddy?
Ryan: Ok. Ok, but first you got to close your eyes, you got to make a wish. That's it. Think of a wish. You got it? Yeah? You ready? Here we go.
Emma: Fly to Greenlee.
Ryan: Tell her we love her.
Emma: Teach her how to fly.
[After Reese and Miranda hug goodbye, Bianca weeps as she hugs her sister and her mother, then takes Gabrielle into her arms and Miranda by the hand and leaves]
Singer: I don't care where this train is going it'll go where it wants to go I'm just taking the ride 'cause I don't want to decide so let it roll let it roll, and I don't know where this river's flowing it'll flow where it's gonna flow running deep as it's wide, and I can't fight the tide so let it flow let it flow I'm letting go no anchors left to ground me letting go there's nothing here to hold me anymore not anymore I'm letting go there's nothing here to hold me. I don't care where this train is going it'll go
