Krystal: Is this how you are going to take care of me?
David: Any complaints?
Krystal: David --
Krystal: Now that you've got me in bed, what happens next?
Amanda: It's ok. It's ok.
J.R.: I thought if I brought my son up here, we could have a nice Christmas. How do I do this without Babe?
Amanda: Listen, I'm here. I'm going to help you any way that I can, ok?
J.R.: Ok. Um, Little Adam's inside. I -- I don't want him seeing me like this.
Amanda: Listen, I'll watch him. You take as much time as you need, ok?
Bianca: So there is Dasher and Dancer and Prancer --
Reese: And Tinkerbell.
Bianca: No -- why not? All of Santa's reindeer are flying high in the sky and coming to give you presents.
Reese: Oh, yes, and you know what? We got to get you up to bed like Gaby and Miranda, so then we can see what Santa brought you under the tree!
Reese: Ooh, is that good? Ooh.
Bianca: Oh, hey. How's Kendall? Any change?
Kendall: Yes, there is. You guys, I'm right here.
Annie: You made this?
Aidan: It's for you because tomorrow is a very special day. It's Christmas.
Annie: I love Christmas. Why didn't anyone tell me?
Aidan: You're cold again. Here, take this. This will keep you warm.
Annie: You're the best daddy in the whole wide world.
Ryan: I want --
Greenlee: Me, too.
Ryan: Are you --
Greenlee: Yes. Yes, I'm sure. We belong together, Ryan. We can't fight it anymore.
Amanda: Oh, let's do it. Oh, ah --
[Amanda groans, coughs]
Amanda: Uh-oh, it's the biggest, baddest dragon in the whole land.
Amanda: Watch out. Uh-oh.
Amanda: You got him. Jump on your dragon and declare your victory.
[Amanda and J.R. laugh]
J.R.: Let me see this.
[Toy sword sounds]
Krystal: Wait, Jenny needs me, and Kathy needs --
David: No, no, no, no, no -- no, no, it's ok. The girls are fine. They're staying the night with Opal. Remember? Yeah.
Krystal: What about Tad?
David: Tad isn't here. He went away.
David: Mm-hmm, to Africa, remember? Your beloved husband decided he'd rather spend the holidays in the jungle than home with his family. Sleep well.
Krystal: That's -- that's Tad. No. No, Tad's not here. He went away for Christmas without us.
Kendall: Look at my boys. When did they get so big?
Zach: All right, gentlemen, here's the deal.
Kendall: This is an exciting night for you. And for your dad.
Zach: There's naughty, and there's nice. Nice is when you see an open net, but you're going to pass the puck across the ice to somebody else just because they're really close to having the hat trick. Naughty is when you slash someone across the helmet. You do that and Santa may skip this house all together, so you don't want to do that.
Kendall: Santa better not skip our house. I'm the only naughty one here.
Bianca: What was that? Are you talking about naughty? There's no naughtiness in this house. There's plenty of presents for everyone.
Kendall: Good old, Binks. Always seeing the positive.
Reese: All right. Well, the cookies are all set, so now what we need is a note for Santa.
Zach: I've got crayons.
Bianca: I'll do the honors.
Zach: Where are you going?
Bianca: All right. What should we say? Um, green.
Zach: Don't eat it.
Bianca: "Dear Santa, thank you very much for all of the presents."
Reese: Mm-hmm -- ooh, especially the Barcelona chair for Reese. It was way cool. Yeah.
Bianca: "Please give our love to Mrs. Claus and all the elves, and Merry Christmas, and --" Zach?
Zach: Hmm? Oh, uh -- "safe trip home."
Bianca: "Safe trip home."
Zach: All right, guys, kisses for everybody.
Reese: Oh, kisses.
Bianca: Oh, kisses.
Zach: Getting heavy.
Reese: Come here.
Zach: Got it. Kisses.
Kendall: Don't forget Mommy.
Bianca: All right.
Zach: All right, here we go.
Zach: And one for Mom. There -- ready? Ok.
Reese: Here you go.
Zach: Two boys. We're going, we're going, we're going. We're out of here.
Bianca: Good night, you guys.
Zach: Good night.
Ryan: Uh-uh. No, no, no. I don't want to rush. I don't want to make any mistakes, not this time.
Greenlee: The mistake is pretending we have a choice. There is no choice. We love each other. We never stopped.
Aidan: You're a wonderful girl, Annie. And I care about you very much. But I'm not your daddy.
Annie: Silly, Daddy. Yes, you are.
Aidan: No, I'm not. I'm your friend.
Dr. Sinclair: How did you get into this room?
Aidan: Secret spy trick. I trained with Special Forces. I can also crack codes, hack in computers, and parachute out of planes.
Amanda: Do you want to blow this whole thing?
David: Are you at the lodge?
Amanda: Yes, J.R. just put Little Adam to bed. He's going to be back here any second.
David: It's a big opportunity for you.
Amanda: I know what I'm doing.
David: Get that booze down J.R.'s throat and collect your cash.
J.R.: It took forever to get him to go to sleep. I think the dragon got him all wound up.
J.R.: Are you kidding me? I was a wreck before you got here. Thank you.
Amanda: You're welcome.
J.R.: So why did you come here?
Amanda: It's Christmas Eve. I didn't want you to be alone. Truth -- I didn't want to be alone. I try and stay positive and think about the good things I have, but there really aren't any.
J.R.: Oh, come on. That's not true.
Amanda: I used to have Fusion. Now I'm Erica's slave. Boyfriend dumped me, used to have money -- oh, my God. I'm such a jerk. I'm complaining about my stupid life when you --
J.R.: No, it's ok.
Amanda: I would just give anything to have, you know, like a big, normal, happy Christmas with all my family.
J.R.: Yeah, I wanted that, too. When Babe and I got engaged, I had -- well, I guess you'd call it a vision. We were in San Diego in the future, and I'm sitting at the head of the dinner table, and I could see my kids and my wife, and for the first time, I feel it. I'm happy. I guess some things aren't meant to be.
Amanda: It'll get easier. Look, I don't want to cut in on your time with Little A. It's just hanging out with you guys lately has been so nice.
J.R.: Well, then stay.
Amanda: Are you sure I wouldn't be in the way?
J.R.: Absolutely. Look, I can't offer you a suite, but the couch is all yours if you want it.
Amanda: Oh, the couch sounds fantastic. You know, normally I feel bummed out, I go shopping, read the gossip mags, and I feel better. But for Christmas, nothing works. There's nowhere to hide from the loneliness.
Amanda: Uh, repeat after me. Amanda, shut up.
J.R.: Amanda, shut up, so I can thank you for coming here, and listen, make yourself at home. I'm going to go get the mountain of presents I got for Little Adam. Ok?
Krystal: What the hell are you doing in my house?
David: I was checking in on you. Are you so exhausted you don't remember that I was helping you with --
Krystal: I'm fine.
David: It's Christmas Eve. The first without our daughter. I'm sorry. I -- I wasn't doing well, and I thought maybe you were feeling the same, which you were. So when I came by, your door was unlocked, the place was a mess, and so were you.
Krystal: Yeah, I -- you gave me a glass of milk.
David: Right. You could barely keep your eyes open, so I carried you upstairs, and I helped you into bed.
David: Am I that exciting?
Krystal: Oh, just -- it's just so funny. I mean, here I was walking around all day yesterday on edge and then you hand me another glass of --
Krystal: Drugs. You've been putting drugs in my milk.
Krystal: That's why -- that's why you're the only one who could make me feel good. It wasn't some connection. It was your stash.
David: Hey, calm down, ok?
Krystal: Every single time -- yeah, right -- "calm down." Right, you want me to be calm and relaxed so that you can, what? What were you going to do?
Krystal: You -- you were upstairs in my room. You were taking my clothes off. If the phone hadn't -- hadn't been ringing --
David: No, no, no, no, no, wait a minute. Wait -- that is not true.
Krystal: Get out, get out.
David: Krystal, wait a sec --
Krystal: Get out of my house!
Singer: You once I knew but couldn't find unwritten lies I can hear the silent song fall apart a rhythm starts and slowly opens my eyes after so long I know I'm alive when you're raging like a river through my veins you're the cure if only I can meet you in the rain at my door lose myself so I can find you I believe you are the cure
Krystal: I defended you to Tad, to J.R., even to Adam, and they were right. You have been working me this entire time.
David: That is not true.
Krystal: You used the death of our daughter to manipulate me.
David: No, wait a minute. That -- I've never used Babe.
Krystal: You are a liar.
David: Have I been making any moves on your family? Have I done anything to undermine your trust?
Krystal: Is that a joke?
David: I was helping you.
Krystal: You were drugging me!
David: Krystal, what have you been asking for this entire time, begging for? You wanted something to calm you down so you could sleep, right? Well, that's exactly what I gave you, and it worked.
Krystal: Right, right, you did this so that I could get rest.
David: Why else would I do it?
Krystal: To get inside my head. To make me think about you, and now I -- now I can't stop! And I know why now.
David: No, no.
Krystal: It was those damn drugs.
David: No, Krystal, it's not the drugs. They don't create your thoughts. You do.
Krystal: Oh, right, right, and so now, all of the sudden, you're on my brain 24/7.
David: If you're thinking about me all the time, dreaming of me all the time, that's your desires, Krystal, plain and simple. Because you want me just as much as I want you.
Amanda: Well, those will keep him busy till next Christmas.
J.R.: Yeah, I know. I forgot to lock the car. Oh, no.
Amanda: What is it?
J.R.: The shell -- I have a hole in my pocket. I must have dropped it somewhere.
Amanda: A shell?
J.R.: Yeah, Little Adam picked up a shell in San Diego. Babe said it was a magic shell and that it would protect her.
Amanda: Oh, that's so sweet.
J.R.: Right before the tornado hit, she gave the shell to Little Adam. He thinks it saved his life.
Amanda: Oh, God.
J.R.: And now he wants me to keep it -- keep me safe. He's going to freak if I don't find it. Oh, no. Well, don't just stand there. Help me find it.
Amanda: Oh, all right. Oh, listen, I mean, it's not a big deal. If you don't find it, you just get another one.
J.R.: That shell is my son's last connection to his mother. He thinks it's protecting his only parent that's alive. What is he going to do if it's gone?
Amanda: Ok, you need to retrace your steps.
J.R.: The car.
Amanda: Go, go.
J.R.: I can't see anything out there. I need a flash light.
Reese: Rules are rules.
Bianca: Oh, come on. We can make one exception.
Reese: No way. Well, ok. I mean -- but if the kids ask, I'm telling them you made me.
Bianca: Ok, fine, fine. It's all right with me. So it's not a chair, but I think you're really going to like it.
Bianca: We're both brides-to-be, so I thought we should both have rings. I hope you don't think it's too much.
Reese: It's perfect.
Bianca: Really? Oh, honey.
Bianca: Reese Williams, will you marry me?
Greenlee: What now?
Ryan: Everything changes.
Ryan: No, in the best possible way.
Greenlee: What do you mean?
Ryan: Well, I had a conversation with Annie's doctor, and she made me realize that I've been coming by the situation completely wrong. Totally wrong. Annie needs doctors and medication right now, and I thought that she needed me to be around. You know, that that would help her, and that was wrong. And I also thought that me staying away from you would help Emma, and that was wrong. She's needed somebody in her life, she's needed a woman, and you've been there for her.
Greenlee: I know how much a little girl needs her mommy's attention and affection and support, and so I thought that if I could give Emma just a little bit of what she's been missing, I could kind of be helping Annie in some way.
Ryan: Thank you.
Greenlee: So no regrets?
Ryan: I want two things in my life. I want happiness for my kids and happiness for you. And I -- I thought that it had to be one or the other, but now I know that I can have both.
Ryan: I am not getting that.
Greenlee: What if it's Emma calling from Opal's?
Ryan: To see if Santa remembered her unicorn?
Ryan: Ok. Am I close?
Greenlee: Over there, over there. There you go.
Ryan: It's Oak Haven. Hello? How is she?
Dr. Sinclair: We pumped her stomach. She's going to be fine.
Ryan: How -- how did this happen?
Dr. Sinclair: All we can say is that somehow Annie got her hands on a large quantity of pills.
Ryan: Somehow? So, what -- you make a habit of leaving pills lying around -- medication lying around that patients can just help themselves?
Dr. Sinclair: I assure you, we will get to the bottom of this.
Ryan: Yes, you're right. You will. I want to see her.
Dr. Sinclair: I'm afraid that's not possible.
Ryan: Why not?
Dr. Sinclair: Because she needs her rest.
Ryan: And because you think I should stay away from her, right?
Dr. Sinclair: Mr. Lavery, now is not the time.
Ryan: I'm actually impressed that somebody took the time to call me and let me know that this was happening.
Dr. Sinclair: Actually, they contacted you without consulting me.
Ryan: My wife is here because experts say that this is the best place for her. This is the place where she will get the help that she needs. Do you call that help?
Dr. Sinclair: What happened tonight was a terrible accident.
Ryan: There's not supposed to be any accidents. You're supposed to keep her safe.
David: Admit it. You want me.
Krystal: You make me sick.
David: If that were true, then why do you keep ending up on my doorstep?
Krystal: Oh, like an addict -- like a junkie? Is that what you wanted to do?
David: No, no.
Krystal: No, you wanted me to become an addict. You did, so that I couldn't stay away.
David: No, Krystal. It was a mild sedative. It's perfectly safe. You're not hooked on drugs. It's your feelings, and that's good.
Krystal: I'm just such a damn fool. I was a fool. Oh, God. You have been playing me since the day you slithered into this town, and it is going to end.
David: Oh, really? Ok, fine. Look me in the eye right now and tell me to go. Go ahead. Do it. Do it, and I'm gone.
Krystal: Damn you. I wish I never laid eyes on you.
David: Wait a minute, wait a minute. Listen to me. You're scared. I understand that. You didn't see this coming, but it's here now. Ok? So don't deny it. Don't deny yourself.
Krystal: No, no, go, go. Go away, go away.
David: All right, you know something? Listen to me. Adam was exciting but evil, right? Tad's safe but boring. Why would you settle when you have a man right in front of you who would give you anything that you want?
Krystal: You know what I want? I want Babe. I want Babe to walk through that door. Can you give me that? Then you have nothing I want.
David: When Babe was born, I wasn't ready to be a father. But I am now, and it's too late. I can never hold our child in my arms again, but I can hold you, Krystal. All you have to do is say yes.
David: Ok, all right, fine. Listen, let's say I disappear. What are you going to do? What then? What, are you going to suffer in silence? You're going to wake up every morning trapped in the wrong house, the wrong marriage, the wrong life --
Krystal: Stop, stop, stop -- stop saying those things. It's not fair.
David: Fair? Are you kidding? What, you want fair? Leora died before she took her first steps. And then Babe -- Babe leaving behind a beautiful little boy like little A -- is that fair?
Krystal: No, I cannot talk about this. I don't want to talk about it right now.
David: All right, ok. You're right, I'm sorry. We shouldn't be fighting. Christmas is hard enough as it is.
Krystal: Oh, God, I hate Christmas. I hate Christmas. I hate these ornaments!
David: Oh, believe me, I know.
Krystal: I hate this tree!
David: Krystal, take it easy.
Krystal: And I hate you.
David: Oh, take it easy.
Krystal: I hate you most of all. Get out of my house!
David: All right, stop! All right, fine. I'm going.
Krystal: No. No, David, wait. You wait.
Amanda: Maybe it will turn up in the morning, like a Christmas miracle.
J.R.: Miracles? There's no such thing. If there were miracles, my son would have a mother. So you either help me look for it or you keep your damn mouth shut. I'm sorry. I just -- I need Babe. She would know what to do. She was an amazing mother. I'm just -- I'm a horrible father.
Zach: Yeah. And then Joseph filled the manger with fresh hay. And Mary took the Baby Jesus and wrapped him up in a soft, clean cloth, and put him down to sleep. See? Baby Jesus had a mother and father who loved him, too. Just like you. You know what I forgot? I forgot your water. I'll be right back, ok?
Kendall: Baby boy. Give Mom a kiss. Yeah.
Reese: My fiancÚ has impeccable taste.
Bianca: Well, as does mine.
Reese: Oh, my.
Reese: Can you imagine? This time next year, we're going to be an old, married couple.
Bianca: No, that's good. That's great.
Zach: Yes, that's good, and Kendall will be home, and we'll all be together for Christmas. Do me a favor. Don't be waving this stuff around so much because she's going to expect something, and I don't --
Bianca: Oh, so you mean we shouldn't do this -- this move right here?
Reese: Probably not. Probably not like this one either.
Zach: Because she has a very, very sparkling personality, and I don't want to take away from that with any kind of thing.
Bianca: Mm-hmm, I see. Well, that's sweet --
Bianca: But you are going to have to buy her something really nice.
Reese: Yeah, really nice.
Kendall: You tell him, Binks.
Reese: I don't know what it is. Maybe it's the Christmas spirit, or maybe it's the wine, I don't know, but there's a real feeling of hope around here.
Bianca: Maybe we got a guardian angel.
Zach: Yeah. To hope.
Reese: To hope.
Amanda: J.R., I think I have something that might help.
J.R.: Ok, if you want to have a drink, go right ahead. You don't have to announce it, ok?
Amanda: It's not for me.
J.R.: What are you doing?
Amanda: Look, I meant what I said at ConFusion. No one would blame you. No one would even have to know. It'll be our secret.
J.R.: Are you out of your mind?
Amanda: Look, you want to find the shell, right? But you can't because you're so stressed out. So you just have a drink, even just some of it to take the edge off. You can calm down and focus. It's all right. You'd be doing it for Little A.
Krystal: I thought you were my friend. I thought you were the only person who understood me.
David: I am. And I do.
Krystal: That's another big lie.
David: No, no. Everything you're feeling, I'm feeling, too. You have to believe at least that.
Krystal: I will never believe another word you say.
David: Krystal, let me help you. I know how much it hurts. We can't have Babe. But her parents -- the two people who loved her the most -- we can have each other.
David: We should have each other.
Krystal: No, no.
David: Don't be afraid. Say it. Say what you're really feeling. You're in love with me. Come on.
Krystal: I hate you! Oh! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you! I hate you!
Greenlee: No, if Ryan's with the doctor, don't interrupt. Thanks.
[Greenlee watches a home movie at the Laverys]
Annie: Here we go. You have no idea how do use this, do you?
Ryan: I got it, I got it.
Annie: Say, "Hi, Daddy."
Ryan: Don't move.
Annie: Come on, come on. Ready? All right, here we go.
Ryan: Quick, quick, quick.
Ryan and Annie: One, two, three.
All: Merry Christmas!
Annie: Good job.
Ryan: Kisses, kisses, kisses.
Ryan: Merry Christmas.
Annie: Good girl. Merry Christmas. Say "Hi." Say "Hi." Wave to the camera.
Dr. Sinclair: I apologize for what happened tonight, but as far as Annie's treatment goes, I stand by my recommendation.
Ryan: I'm sorry, but I don't take anything you say seriously anymore. How can I?
Dr. Sinclair: Every time she sees you, she gets upset and confused. It hinders her progress. And who knows? Maybe your visits have something to do with why she took the pills.
Ryan: Ok, now this is my fault, too? Is that what --
Dr. Sinclair: No, no, no. This is no one's fault. And this is a top-notch facility. Annie's time here will be beneficial, if you allow us to do our jobs.
Ryan: What do I tell my daughter?
Dr. Sinclair: She doesn't have to know about this.
Ryan: No. In the morning, when she's opening presents, when she asks why her mommy isn't there to watch, what do I tell her then? And the morning after that? And the morning after that? I need an answer. You need to get Annie well so I can give my daughter an answer. And the answer is, "Mommy will come home when she's well," not "Mommy overdosed in a hospital."
Bianca: How's Ian?
Zach: He's all right. He thought he heard Santa on the roof. What?
Reese: We were just thinking that --
Bianca: You know, you should go to the hospital, Zach. You should be with Kendall tonight.
Zach: There's no need. Kendall's right here with us. I can feel it.
J.R.: 390 days.
J.R.: That's how long I've been sober. When I lost Babe, I wanted to do anything to kill the pain. You know, not feel, not think. Maybe you're right. Maybe she wouldn't mind. Maybe she'd understand.
Amanda: Ok, this was a bad idea. This was a bad idea.
Nurse: I'll be back later to check on you.
Aidan: Hey, Annie. How are you?
Annie: Aidan, what are you doing here?
