Adam: I thought you were in New York doing press for Fusion.

Erica: I was.

Adam: Oh, I see. You feel so terrible about running out on our dinner date that you've returned to make it up to me.

Erica: I've returned for Gabrielle's christening this afternoon.

Adam: Oh, all right. What time do you need me there? I assume you need an escort.

Erica: As usual, your assumption is wrong.

Adam: Oh, of course. Erica Kane doesn't need a man.

Erica: Jackson will be there, of course.

Adam: Oh, now I know what you're doing.

Erica: Excuse me?

Adam: You're using Montgomery as a shield, clinging to him to ignore your true feelings -- the feelings that you have for me.

Erica: You're absolutely right.

[J.R. lies on his bed thinking]

Babe's voice: All I can think about is how much I love you and how much I love being in the same bed with you again.

David: Glad you could come.

Amanda: You said it was urgent. Well, spit it out. I'm late for work.

David: You're not dressed for the job.

Zach: It's your big day today. Your new niece is being christened. It's going to be at the house. It's going to be nice. I need you to wake up. I need to tell you about Bianca and I -- and I need you to understand.

Bianca: Look at your booties. Aren't they pretty?

Reese: Look what you get to wear today.

Bianca: Is her dress upstairs?

Reese: Yes, it's upstairs. I need to get dressed, too. All right. I've got to call Fusion, make sure that Erica's office is all ready to go, and then I have to call the contractor.

Bianca: Ok, ok. Go, go -- we're fine.

Reese: You guys set? All right, ok. See you in a little.

Bianca: Oh, want to lay down for a bit? There you go. Oh, good girl. Ok.

[Phone rings]

Bianca: Hi, um, my name is Bianca Montgomery. Reese doesn't know that I'm calling you, but I -- I had to. She needs you. We need you.

Amanda: What are you doing?

David: Helping you change.

Amanda: I happen to like this dress. I'm leaving now.

David: I gave you a half million dollars up front, and there's plenty more where that came from if you bring down J.R.

Amanda: I'm working on it.

David: Yes, but you need to captivate him, mesmerize him, grab his attention so hard that he can't take his eyes off of you.

Amanda: And how am I supposed to do that?

David: Why don't we start with better wardrobe? Come on.

Amanda: That dress -- it's Babe's.

Adam: You're forcing yourself to rein in your feelings, your true feelings.

Erica: Yes. Feelings of annoyance and anger and disgust, because you are so arrogant. You have such a colossal ego that you truly believe that I've fallen in love with you.

Adam: Stop fighting it. Unleash your passion. You're wild with love for me.

Erica: Adam, I have no time for you. I have a full plate.

Adam: Hmm.

Erica: The only reason I took you on is because you threatened my daughter's company.

Adam: And --

Erica: I needed proof, and I got it.

Adam: And you fell head over heels in love along the way.

[Adam laughs]

Erica: Adam, I saved Fusion. Mission accomplished. Come on, don't be a sore loser.

Adam: Would a sore loser let you live in his house?

Erica: Oh, well, I thank you very much for letting me stay in your guest room, and I still haven't found my perfect home, however the Yacht Club is finished with its post-tornado renovations. My suite is all complete, and I had some of my things moved in there already. Now, please send the rest of my things there. Thank you, and have a good life.

Bianca: Hello?

[Reese mumbles]

Reese: Oh, forgot these.

[Reese laughs]

Reese: Hey, what -- what's wrong?

Bianca: Nothing. No, I was just calling the bakery to see when the stupid cake is coming. I know. I'm -- I'm nervous. This is such an important day. And we've so much that we still need to do.

Reese: Come here. Come here, come here, come here. All right. It's going to be fine. So -- so what if we run out of ice? Ok. So what if there are toys all over the floor? So what if Gabby just starts crying when she gets hit with that water? Because you know what? I'm going to be crying. It's ok.

Bianca: I know. I just -- I want everything to be perfect.

Reese: Sweetheart, we are together, all right? We have two beautiful, happy, healthy children, all right? What could be more perfect than that?

Bianca: Mm.

Reese: We're a family.

Bianca: Mm-hmm -- yeah.

Reese: Come here. It's ok.

Bianca: Oh, my God. If I'm this freaked out about a christening, imagine how I'm going to be at our wedding.

Reese: Aww, you're going to be beautiful. Oh, but the baby shower, what about that?

Bianca: Baby shower?

Reese: Mm-hmm. Yeah, for our next kid, you know? And the one after that, and maybe the two following.

Bianca: What? Three more?

Reese: Maybe four?

Bianca: Four?

[Reese laughs]

Bianca: Ok, fine. Deal, but -- listen, lady. We're taking turns, and you're up.

Reese: Ok, I am ready.

Bianca: Oh, really? So you don't remember the mood swings, the morning sickness, the exhaustion, the gigantic breasts?

Reese: Ah, yes. Yes, please.

[Baby crying]

Bianca: Oh, golly.

Reese: Oh, I think she heard you say "gigantic breasts." Come on.

Bianca: How can somebody so tiny eat so much?

Reese: Oh, hi. Ok, you know what? I'm going to make one more phone call, and then I'll be done. Everything's going to be fine.

Bianca: All right.

Reese: Stop worrying.

Bianca: All right.

[Bianca sighs]

Doctor: Mr. Slater, it's nice to see you again.

Zach: Hey. It's nice to see you. I'd like an update on my wife.

Doctor: Well, she's holding steady.

Zach: "She's holding steady"? I brought her all the way up here away from her friends and her family, and "She's holding steady"? You're supposed to make her better. Make her better.

Doctor: I wish it were that simple, but in cases like this a great deal of patience is required.

Zach: Yeah. I got two boys. They're getting bigger every day. Her sister just had a baby she hasn't even seen yet, and -- and she's missing everything. I don't -- I don't want -- Thanksgiving's next week, and I'd like to have her home. Can we do that?

Doctor: Look, Mr. Slater, your wife is receiving the best possible care. She has a thorough treatment plan stimulating her on every level -- sensory, taste, audio, physiotherapy, medication, and we're playing her the recordings that you're sending us.

Zach: So, how come she's not getting better?

Doctor: Mr. Slater, I understand your frustration, but please know we're doing everything we possibly can.

[Pager beeps]

Doctor: Excuse me.

Zach: I've got to go. But I brought you something.

Spike's voice: Mommy, this is for you. Twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are, up above the world so high, like a diamond in the sky; twinkle, twinkle little star, how I wonder what you are; twinkle, twinkle little star how I wonder what you are, up the diamond up so high like a diamond in the sky; twinkle, twinkle little star how I wonder what you are

[Kendall opens her eyes then closes them]

Tad: Hey, bear. Honey, listen, I tried to make you an omelet, but the flipping thing's a little bit beyond me so it's kind of a egg mélange. Krystal -- honey, as agonizing as it is, grief is healthy. It's there so we can heal. You're going to have to forgive me, but it seems like you're doing so much more. I mean, now you're tearing yourself up over Little Adam, over what he's going through with J.R. I -- you know, I don't know what to -- I promise you, ok? I give you my word. We will take care of him. We will look after him. He will be ok.

Krystal: I just let Babe's son move back into the Chandler Mansion. When is anybody ever ok in that place?

Tad: Honey, I'm sorry. I'm sorry for what you're going through, but we -- we've got so much to live for. You know, we could spoil the girls half to death. We could be a family. We could spend time with our friends. You say the word. You snap your fingers, we'll rebuild The Comeback. We'll call it "The Comeback, Again."

Krystal: My daughter is dead, and you are making jokes.

Tad: No, honey, that's not --

Krystal: Don't you even understand what I'm going through, what I am feeling?

Tad: Of course, I do.

Krystal: No, you don't. You're telling me to get up, and eat, and you're trying to make me laugh. It's your way of saying, "Get over it, move on, and forget about Babe." How could you be so cruel?

David: Babe did have a dress like this. She was wearing it when I first saw her when I came back to Pine Valley.

Amanda: You mean when you were in the Chandler tunnel spying on her?

David: It was early in the morning. She was playing with Little Adam before she left for work. He was zooming all around the room pretending to be a superhero, and when he caught the bad guy, she swept him up in her arms and cheered him on. That little boy gave her such joy. You're right, Amanda. This was Babe's dress.

Amanda: I'm not wearing the dress. It's weird, and it's wrong. Babe was my friend.

David: Babe is gone. This won't hurt her, and we're going after J.R. Remember, Amanda, J.R. is the reason why Babe is dead, and he had the nerve to try and pin that on you. He hasn't changed. He's spineless, weak, cruel, just like he's always been. Babe gave that bastard everything, and all he ever did was hurt her. I need you, Amanda.

[David unzips Amanda's dress and helps her into Babe's]

David: You can do this. I have complete faith in you.

[David sighs]

David: Now you're ready. Get to work.

[Phone rings]

Bianca: Oh, my goodness, we're so behind. I'm not dressed, and Gabby's not dressed.

Reese: Bianca, bakery is on the phone.

Bianca: Ok. I'm sorry, Mom. Do you mind?

Erica: No, don't be silly, honey. I've got a lot of phone calls to make anyway.

Bianca: Oh, all right.

[Phone rings]

Randi: Fusion.

Erica: Yes, hello. This is Erica. Who's this? Hello?

Randi: Um, hi. Ms. Kane, this is Randi.

Erica: Randi, I'm not coming in until a little bit later, so I was just calling to see that everything is running smoothly.

Randi: Well, everything's fine. You have a few messages, nothing urgent, and I was just putting them on your desk.

Erica: Oh, well, thank you. Oh, and Randi, I have something very important to discuss with Amanda. Will you put her on, please?

Randi: Um, she's actually in a meeting downstairs, but she should be back any minute.

Erica: Amanda's not there, is she, Randi? She's late.

Randi: Actually she just walked in. Hold on one second. Where have you been?

Amanda: Chill. Would you look at this place? She's everywhere.

Randi: Yeah, and Erica's also on the phone.

Amanda: Oh, my God. An Erica phone?

Randi: No, she's on hold for you.

Amanda: Oh.

Randi: Ok, are you nuts?

Amanda: Good morning, Erica.

Erica: Amanda, I really don't like to be kept waiting. Either come to work on time or don't come at all.

Amanda: Is there something I can help you with?

Erica: Actually, a wonderful idea occurred to me last night, and we are going to make it happen. Fusion and Cambias Industries are going to co-sponsor a fundraiser to help repair the damage from the tornado. The event is going to be called "Tomorrow" because it's all about rebirth and renewal, and building a bright, new future for Pine Valley.

Amanda: Cool.

Erica: Well, actually, Amanda, it's going to be much more elaborate than just "cool," because we are going to be rebuilding the hospital and the library and my wonderful friend Myrtle's boarding house. However, we have to work fast. I'm going to be away a lot doing a lot of press for Fusion, and so I'm going to need a right-hand person to help me with this, Randi. We have to get started right away.

Randi: Me?

Amanda: Erica, I'm in charge of planning Fusion's parties.

Erica: But you weren't there when I called, Amanda, so now Randi's in charge.

Randi: Um, Ms. Kane -- Erica, I just think that --

Amanda: You can't just change my job.

Erica: I believe I just did. But you know what, Amanda? I've just come up with a new one.

Amanda: What?

Erica: You be in charge of answering the phones, so Randi can take care of her new assignment.

Tad: I would never tell you to forget Babe.

Krystal: No, no, you just slap me on the back and tell me to buck up already. How long do I have to grieve my dead daughter, Tad? Fifteen, twenty minutes?

Tad: Honey, I'm not trying to be funny. Why are you trying to fight with me?

Krystal: Because you of all people should understand what it's like to grieve for somebody. You're still carrying a torch for Dixie all this time. You don't think I see you outside there staring at the sky. I know exactly what you're wishing for. You'll be wishing for it until the day you die.

Tad: Ok, you should stop.

Krystal: No, you should stop pretending that you understand how I feel.

Tad: I do. I'm trying. Oh, forgive me, you -- the fact is you're just making it difficult, Krystal. You're trying to make it difficult.

Krystal: Oh, I'm sorry. Is my pain cramping your style? Is it too much for you to manage?

Tad: Oh, come on.

Krystal: No, you just want me to snap out of it and go back to being your perky little wife chasing after your two girls, and to hell with the one who's not here anymore.

Tad: That is not true, and you know it.

Krystal: I am out of here.

Tad: No you're not. I'm not letting you leave like this.

Krystal: You do not tell me where I can and cannot go, and you sure as hell don't tell me how to grieve for Babe.

J.R.: Tell me there's coffee.

Adam: How's my grandson?

J.R.: He slept his first night all the way through since -- he's getting dressed.

Adam: Doesn't look like you've gotten too much rest either.

J.R.: Well, I can't sleep in that room in that bed.

Adam: Well, then pick another one, any one you like. Anything I can do for you, son?

J.R.: There's not. Hey, buddy. You ready to go? Give me your hand.

Erica: Hello. You must be Father Logan. Please come in.

Father Logan: Ms. Kane, I've been trying to get in touch with you.

Erica: Oh, please forgive me for not getting right back to you, Father.

Father: I don't mind speaking --

Erica: Now, let me introduce you. This is my daughter, Bianca. This is Gabrielle's mother.

Bianca: Very nice to meet you.

Erica: And this is Reese. This is -- this is Gabrielle's other mother.

Reese: It's nice to meet you.

Father: Hello. Might we speak in private?

Erica: Oh, I'm actually just standing in for the godmother. You really should speak to Bianca and Reese.

Father: When Ms. Kane called and asked if I would christen her daughter's baby, I wasn't aware the other parent was also a woman. I assumed Reese was a man. I only found out when I called Ms. Montgomery to confirm the address.

Bianca: You didn't mention this misunderstanding over the phone.

Father: Father Fleming, Ms. Kane's friend and regular minister, is out of town. I'm substituting for him. I just don't feel comfortable representing the parish in this situation. I suggest you and your -- postpone the ceremony until Father Fleming returns.

Erica: In other words, you refuse to christen the baby of gay parents.

Father: No, no, it's -- I -- I've never been in this situation before.

Erica: Stop calling it a situation. This is a sacred right of passage for a baby and her loving parents and her family.

Father: Ms. Kane, --

Erica: Goodbye, Father Logan. Father, we are all God's children.

[Erica slams the door]

Erica: I am so sorry. I'm going to get right on the phone. I will find you someone else.

[Bianca hugs her mother]

Krystal: Don't ask me why I'm here. I don't have an answer. I don't like you. I don't trust you, but I keep coming back here. Why? Why do I keep ending up here?

David: You came because you needed to. I'm ready to listen, Krystal. I'm ready to help. But I can't unless you talk to me. Come on, Krystal. Tell me what happened.

Krystal: Tad and I had a fight. He wants me to pull it together and move on, and I can't. My child is gone.

David: Our child. And I can't move on from that, either. Not now, not ever.

Amanda: Where does she get off?

Randi: Erica is just trying to help Fusion.

Amanda: Oh, please. She doesn't care about this place. It's all about her. You watch. We're going to do all the work... [Imitating Erica] And she'll get all the credit. [Normal voice] I wish I was in this office, not her.

Randi: Maybe someday you will be.

Amanda: Yes, but I need to get my power back, the power that comes from money. I need to get rich again.

Randi: [Chuckles] In this economy? Good luck. Might as well try a lottery ticket. See you later.

[Phone ringing]

David: Hello?

Amanda: How much do I get if J.R. sees me in the dress, and we make progress?

David: Get him nursing that bottle again, same offer as before.

Amanda: Half a mill?

David: That's correct.

Amanda: Write the check.

J.R.: Little A wanted to see his nana.

Tad: Well, monsieur, don't you look sensational? Why don't you go up and check on Jenny? She's with Corinna, ok?

Little Adam: Ok.

Tad: That is amazing.

J.R.: Yeah. Have you heard any more about Di?

Tad: No. You want to know the truth? I don't believe any of it. That she kidnapped Emma, she shot Aidan? Doesn't make any sense.

J.R.: I know. I can't even think about it right now. Where's Krystal?

Tad: Well, that's the question, isn't it? We sort of had words, and she bolted out of here.

J.R.: What happened?

Tad: The same thing that always happens lately whenever I try to reach out to her. She pushes me away. And I have absolutely no idea how I'm going to help her through any of this.

J.R.: You can't help her. When you have Babe in your heart, you can't handle it. It handles you.

[Phone ringing]

J.R.: Hey.

Amanda: J.R., I'm in Fusion and -- and Erica's being awful, and --

J.R.: All right, take it easy.

Amanda: I can't. I look around this place, and I see her. I see Babe everywhere, and it's killing me.

[Baby crying]

Reese: I'll go, I'll go.

Bianca: Oh, would you mind also getting Gabrielle dressed?

Reese: Of course.

[Baby crying]

Bianca: Mom, thank you so much for dealing with the minister. Thank you for flying in from work for this.

Erica: Oh, honey, I wouldn't miss this for the world. What, honey? What is it? What's wrong?

Bianca: Zach is visiting Kendall in Canada today. I just really hope that he can make it back in time.

Erica: Oh, well, I'm sure he's doing his best.

Bianca: I know. I just -- I just wanted everything to be perfect, and it's not going to be.

Erica: Bianca, honey, I know that Kendall is not going to be with us today, but she is going to come back to us.

Bianca: I know. I just want her here now.

Erica: I know.

Bianca: And it's not just that. I mean, there's something else.

Erica: You tell me what it is, and we'll fix it.

Bianca: I tried and all I did was make it worse.

Krystal: It just keeps happening. I -- I wake up in the middle of the night so certain that Babe is calling out for me. And I just pick up the phone, and I speed dial her accidentally. I know I should erase her number, but if I do --

David: I know. Hey.

Krystal: Don't, don't.

David: Everything you're describing, it's happening to me, too.

Krystal: David, don't try to bond with me, please.

David: Wait a minute, wait a minute.

Krystal: Oh, don't, don't -- don't touch me.

David: All right, Krystal? Krystal. Where are you going to go? Huh? You can run all you want, but you're going to end up right back here, and you know it, because I'm it. I'm the only other person in the world who truly knows what it's like to lose a daughter like Babe.

Krystal: What am I supposed to do? I'm drowning. The pain is just -- it's just pulling me under, and I try to fight it. I try to come up for air and another wave just comes along and just slams me. Look at this. I mean, I never used to cry.

David: It's all right. It helps to let it out.

Krystal: And I can't -- I can't cry in front of Kathy or Jenny. Especially not Little A. You know, and I don't want to upset them but I just -- I can't -- I can't stop it.

David: Krystal. You're not alone. If you need to cry, cry with me. If you need to talk, talk with me. As long as it takes, I'm here, all right? Come here.

David: You know what this reminds me of? That night we first met. That crazy party at Stanford.

Krystal: Oh, God.

David: You were crying because that loser just dumped you.

Krystal: Yeah, for his ex-girlfriend. Yeah.

David: That idiot didn't have a clue what he was getting rid of.

Krystal: He broke my heart.

David: I found you in that room all alone. My God, you were beautiful.

Krystal: Oh, please, come on. I was a mess. And you didn't even know me.

David: Who would have dreamed, out of all that sorrow, that we would have brought in such joy? We created a miracle that night, Krystal. We made Babe.

Bianca: Uncle Jack.

Jack: Hello, you. Don't you look so pretty?

Bianca: Thank you.

Zach: Is there a line to get into this --

Jack: No, not anymore. Come on in.

Bianca: Thank goodness you made it.

Zach: Of course.

Bianca: Ah, thank goodness you made it.

Erica: How is she? How is Kendall?

Zach: No change. Hi.

Erica: Hi.

[Door closes]

Erica: I'm awfully glad you came.

Jack: I wouldn't have missed it for the world. And I come bearing great news. They found Emma, and she's just fine.

Erica: Oh, that's wonderful. Hi!

Zach: Grrr!

Erica: Oh, look at you. Look how beautiful you look, honey. Oh, Miranda, you look beautiful.

Miranda: You do, too. Doesn't she, Uncle Jack?

Jack: Yes, indeed, she does. As always, in fact. So where's the -- where's the star of our show?

Erica: There she is.

Minister: Welcome to all of you. We have the honor and great joy of being present at the christening of Gabrielle Amelia Williams-Montgomery, daughter of Bianca Christine Montgomery and Reese Williams. As the years go by, their role as parents will be enhanced by each of you, as well as by those loved ones who cannot be here with us today. We now join our thoughts and ask that peace may embrace this family, and that an arc of God's light will surround this child for all her days. Bianca and Reese, will you provide a home where faith and spirituality are part of the nurturing of this child?

Bianca and Reese: We will.

Minister: Do you promise to value Gabrielle's hopes and dreams and to assure her that she will always be welcomed, accepted, and loved?

Bianca and Reese: We will.

Minister: Zach, as godfather to Gabrielle, your role in her life is an important one. And Erica, your daughter Kendall's role as godmother is equally important when, God willing, she recovers. Bianca and Reese take comfort in knowing that their daughter will be able to come to you for support and guidance. Do you accept this role and do you promise to teach, encourage, and protect Gabrielle throughout her life?

Zach and Erica: We do.

Minister: I baptize you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Erica: Ohh.

Reese: I'm going to go put her down.

Bianca: Ok.

Erica: Ok.

Erica: The ceremony was beautiful.

Bianca: Oh, it was, wasn't it?

Erica: And so now tell me about this problem, honey. What is it?

Bianca: Reese's parents rejected her when she came out to them.

Erica: Oh, how awful.

Bianca: I know, and today, with the christening and everybody here, I just -- I just thought, you know what? It's time to fix this, or at least try. So I called her mom.

Erica: And?

Bianca: And I tried to explain to her that Reese needs her, that she should be a part of our family. But she hung up on me. Today, the two of us -- the four of us, we took a vow as a family that we would be there to love and support Gabrielle. And Reese needs the same thing.

Erica: You know something, honey? I was watching Reese all day long and during the ceremony, how she looked at you and Miranda and that beautiful new baby, and she was overjoyed. So Reese has a whole new family of her own to love and support her. She doesn't need anybody else.

Zach: What are you doing? What's wrong?

Reese: Hey, nothing. I'm just scared. You know, the, uh, promises that Bianca and I made today, in front of everyone, in front of God. You know, just being a parent is huge. What if I mess up, you know? What if I can't give Gabrielle everything that she needs?

Zach: Come here. You realize that's normal, right?

Reese: Yeah?

Zach: Yeah. To be afraid, you know, to be parents. Because you never know if you can protect your kids enough, but you know what you can do? You can give them love. That's all they need.

Reese: Well, I love Gabrielle more than I ever thought I could.

Zach: Then I think you're going to be ok.

Reese: Thanks.

J.R.: Hey. That's Babe's dress.

Amanda: She gave it to me. I thought I'd feel close to her if I wore it. What are you doing?

[J.R. starts removing Amanda's dress]

J.R.: I bet you feel pretty in this, huh?

Amanda: What are you doing? Stop. J.R., stop it!

J.R.: You like that dress, huh?

Amanda: No!

David: We were complete strangers.

Krystal: It was like you knew me, because you understood my pain. Just like now.

David: Just like now.
