Adam: Uh, thank you for coming so quickly.

Pete: I -- I'd just like to say I'm really sorry for your loss. I didn't know Babe that well, but she seemed like a really nice person.

Adam: Thank you, thank you. It was a horrible tragedy.

Pete: On the bright side, you look well.

Adam: Uh --

Pete: You know, after your brush with death and everything. Lucky thing that we were able to dig you out of that tunnel. Oh, huh -- wow, you didn't have to do all this.

Adam: Oh, yes, I did.

Colby: Hey. I thought you'd be here.

David's voice: No, no. Babe, Babe -- Babe, you can't be.

J.R.'s voice: I'll kill you! I'm going to kill you!

David's voice: You did this to her. You killed my daughter.

Krystal: David, David, wake up.

David: What do you want?

Krystal: To get you out of here.

Angie: Ready to get out of here? All right, this should have everything that you need.

Bianca: All right.

Angie: And I've already signed your discharge papers.

Bianca: Oh, thank you so much, Dr. Hubbard.

Angie: Thank you. You know, having her around -- I don't know. It's -- it's made these last couple of days almost bearable. You know what? It's -- it's incredible how well she's doing -- how well both of you are doing, you know, given everything you've been through.

Bianca: I only wish everyone had been so lucky.

[Phone rings]

Annie: It's him, isn't it? The kidnapper?

Ryan: Let's hear what he has to say.

David: You don't want me to get out, because if I do, I'm going to kill J.R. along with his dear old daddy.

Krystal: Haven't enough people been hurt?

David: No, actually. Babe is dead, Krystal. Gone.

Krystal: Yeah, I know that. And now you want to leave Little A an orphan, take his mama and his daddy away all in one week, because you hate the Chandlers.

David: I cannot believe that you're defending them.

Krystal: Babe and J.R. were making it work.

David: Yeah. That's why I came back. I wanted to see for myself, make sure that idiot was treating her right.

Krystal: Well, then you see. They were happy.

David: Yeah, maybe, for a minute, and look what happy got her. Her guard was down. She was lured back to town by Adam on some bogus lawsuit just in time for this --

Krystal: Some freak tornados? So now you're trying to say that the Chandlers control the weather, too.

David: All I know is this -- if Babe hadn't got mixed up in their world, she would still be alive today.

Krystal: And miserable, because their world is where she wanted to be. David, Babe is gone, and there is nothing in the world that you could do to bring her back.

David: Well, as you can see, my hands are kind of tied here, so --

Krystal: Yeah, I know, but mine aren't. I will post your bail if you leave town and stay away for good.

Pete: A one-way ticket to London?

Adam: Hmm.

Pete: You want me to leave town?

Adam: I think it's best, yes.

Pete: For whom?

Adam: Well, for you, of course.

[Adam chuckles]

Adam: You see, under the duress of being buried alive, I confessed to tainting Bella.

Pete: You confessed?

Adam: Yes.

Pete: To -- to Erica Kane, Kendall's mother?

Adam: As you -- as you might guess, uh, the odds of her letting that go are, well, slim to none.

Pete: I -- I still don't understand why I have to leave.

Adam: It's for your protection. Um, Erica's distracted right now because her daughter is still in the hospital, but she's going to start sharpening her claws, believe me. And she will attack when the time is right, and I would like you as far away from here as possible when that happens.

Pete: Why?

Adam: Why? Uh, you may have named it, but Blast was my idea.

Pete: If you're going to take the fall --

Adam: Yeah, don't -- don't bother to thank me. Yeah, just send me a basket of scones or something.

Pete: But -- wait. What about Colby?

Adam: What about her?

Pete: Can I at least say good-bye?

Adam: No, no, that's what your e-mails are for. You go on home. You pack your bags and kiss your harebrained parents good-bye and be done with it. Ok?

Colby: Tell me there's not booze in here. J.R.?

J.R.: Look, I poured it. I smelled it. I even stared at the damn thing all night, but I just couldn't take a sip.

Colby: I'm proud of you. And I'm sorry I --

J.R.: It's ok. I need my wife. I've been sitting here trying to wrap my whole mind around this, and -- we were so close, Colby. New city, a new life -- now it's vanished.

Colby: But you had it. Even if it was only for a second, J.R., you had it. You guys -- you guys were happy, like "full on it doesn't get better than this" happy. Do you know how amazing that is?

J.R.: Yeah, I do.

Ryan: Hello.

Kidnapper: Smart move, Mr. Lavery, not involving the police. Little Emma gets to live another day.

Ryan: We did what you asked. Where is she?

[Kidnapper laughs]

Kidnapper: If I told you that, what would we have left to talk about?

Ryan: Just tell me what you want. What is it, money? Tell me how much, and it's yours.

Kidnapper: Road's End Motel, Room 149. You know the drill. Come alone.

[Line disconnects]

Ryan: We want to see Emma. Hello?

Annie: Do you -- do you even know where that place is?

Ryan: Yeah, it's a total dive. Just to think of Emma in that neighborhood is --

Annie: Come on.

Ryan: Come on.

[Annie gasps]

Jesse: Going somewhere?

Angie: You have a nice, clean suture line. It should heal very well. Unfortunately, the blood flow to one of your ovaries was cut off for some time. It caused some damage. If you decide that you want to have children, you need to alert your Ob-Gyn.

Natalia: I am not having children. Why -- so I could do it all on my own?

Angie: Why would you be on your own?

Natalia: If the father left. The way mine did.

Greenlee: Go home to your sons. I'll take care of Kendall.

[Zach sighs]

Greenlee: When is the last time you slept?

Zach: Last night, an hour, maybe two, I don't know.

Greenlee: Have you eaten anything?

Zach: I'm not hungry.

Greenlee: You have to take care of your--

Zach: How are you doing?

Greenlee: Nice, I'm fine. Rachael called me. She was asking when you were going to check in. Spike's been asking for you.

Zach: The kids are healthy, and they're safe. They're going to be fine.

Greenlee: That's true, but they still need their --

Zach: Look at her. I can't leave.

David: I don't need your money. But thanks.

Krystal: Fine, fine. Just promise me that you will leave Pine Valley. Ok, you stayed away this long. What's the difference if you stay away forever?

David: Oh, come on, Krystal. But then I'd be leaving all my very best friends.

Krystal: I am hanging on by a thread here. The last thing I need is for you to be stirring up trouble.

David: You think I'm a heartless bastard, don't you?

Krystal: I think you're grieving for our daughter.

David: You didn't answer my question, so I'll do it for you. Yeah, I'm a bastard, for the most part. I've done some pretty despicable things, but there was some light in there, Krystal. A tiny, decent, human sliver of light, and the only reason it was there was because of Babe.

Krystal: She had that effect on people.

David: Yeah. But not anymore. And when she died, she took that light with her.

Krystal: Well, if that is the case, then there's nothing left for you here. David, please.

David: All right. All right, I'll go.

Krystal: And you'll never come back?

David: No, no, I won't come back. But if I run into Chandler-dee and Chandler-dum, you got to know that all bets are off.

Krystal: Thank you. Thank you. And just know that if Babe -- if Babe were here, she would thank you, too.

J.R.: Hey, buddy.

Little Adam: Hey.

J.R.: You having fun playing with Tad?

Little Adam: Yep.

J.R.: Thanks for watching him.

Tad: Oh, are you kidding? He's a good boy. Toys and donut holes -- sign me up. I think I'll give you guys a little privacy.

J.R.: Come here.

Little Adam: That's Mama's.

J.R.: Yep, but she doesn't need it anymore. She told me to give it to you.

Little Adam: Why?

J.R.: Well, the shell is supposed to protect her, right? But she doesn't need protecting anymore. She's in heaven. She's playing with the angels. And they're protecting her.

Little Adam: When is Mama coming home?

J.R.: She's not. But she loves you so much, Little A.

Jack: How are you? Hey.

Bianca: Ah, tough question. Horrible and wonderful. It changes by the minute.

Jack: Yeah, I'll bet. Boy or girl?

Bianca: Girl.

Jack: Girl -- hey, you. Oh, she's beautiful.

Bianca: This is your Uncle Jack.

[Jack chuckles]

Bianca: It's your Uncle Jack.

Jack: Great-uncle Jack, but we won't even talk about that.

Bianca: Oh, right, Great-uncle Jack.

Jack: Um, I couldn't believe Greenlee's message. "Bianca's back in town, and she's had a baby"? I mean --

Bianca: It's true.

Jack: Obviously, obviously. I'm thrilled for you.

Bianca: Thank you.

Jack: I want to hear all the details. Now on to the horrible part -- how's Kendall doing?

Bianca: No change as far as I know. Greenlee and Zach are in with her right now.

[Baby cries]

Bianca: Oh, what?

Jack: Listen, I -- I know you must be overwhelmed. If there's anything I can do, please --

Bianca: Thank you.

Jack: I've got to tell you, I'm so glad you're here. Zach, Erica, especially Kendall, they really need you.

Greenlee: Think about Spike and Ian, how confused they must be. I mean, I know Rachael does a great job, but she's not you.

Zach: What if something happens when I'm gone?

Greenlee: I'll be here. I won't leave her side. I won't even take pee breaks. I'll have them bring in a bedpan if I have to. I know Kendall needs you, but right now, your sons need you more.

Zach: You'll call me with updates, right?

Greenlee: I have you on speed dial.

Zach: I won't be gone long.

Greenlee: Take your time.

Zach: Hey. I'm going to go kiss the boys good night from you. But only this once. You'll have to do the next one, all right?

Natalia: Makes you feel like you can't count on anybody.

Angie: Natalia, Jesse didn't --

Natalia: Desert me, desert us -- I know. We pushed him away. Maybe it wasn't so much the leaving part as it was the vibe when he was around. It's like half of him was with us, but the other half was somewhere else. With you. You don't like talking about this, do you?

Angie: At this point, Natalia, I'm just trying to keep up.

Natalia: Well, you must have questions. Ask away. It's not like I'm going anywhere.

Angie: Uh, you said that your mom was in bad shape. And that's why you came looking for Jesse.

Natalia: Do you think I made that up?

Angie: I don't know what to think. That's why I'm asking.

Natalia: There's something wrong with my mom, Angie. I would never lie about that. Do you think that when she comes to get me that you could examine her? I don't know, see if you can figure it out.

Angie: I don't know if that would be such a good idea.

Natalia: Oh, please, please. You've got Jesse. My mom, she doesn't have anybody. She needs help, and she will never ask for it. Please.

Angie: I'll see what I can do.

Ryan: Jesse, it's actually, uh, it's a good thing you stopped by.

Annie: We were actually on our way to go see you.

Jesse: Well, I'm glad I was able to save you a trip.

Ryan: Do you have any news on Emma?

Jesse: Nothing yet, but I've got a really thorough team working the case. They spoke to people over at the theater, but unfortunately, nobody seems to remember anything. But something will come up, I promise you that, and as soon as it does, you will know.

Annie: Thank you, Jesse.

Ryan: We appreciate that.

Jesse: Yeah, you're welcome. Y'all all right?

Ryan: What kind of question is that, Jesse?

Jesse: You seem a little jumpy, a little nervous. Parents get that way after they've been contacted by the kidnapper, and then they start having second thoughts about involving the police.

Annie: You think if the kidnapper had got in touch with us, we wouldn't have told you?

Jesse: If he threatened Emma's life, maybe not. Is that what's going on here?

Tad: Hey, kiddo. Tell Little A about his mom?

J.R.: Yeah. I just don't think he understands.

Tad: J.R., he's so young. It might be more of a process, you know.

J.R.: Yeah, well, it's just not a conversation I want to keep having, you know?

Tad: Well, there's one I'd like to have with you. Probably send Adam around the bend, but I just want you to know how proud I am of you. The man you are, that you've become, the father you are. You did the best thing you could for Babe -- for any parent. Before she died, she knew for a fact that her son, her child, her flesh and blood, would be protected, would be loved and cared for.

J.R.: I made her a promise. I'm want to live up to that no matter what.

Tad: I know you do. I love you. I want you to know you and Little A are welcome here just as long as you have the need, you know? Because Kathy loves having you both here. I mean, he's a wonderful playmate for her. Little Jenny's adorable, but she's not exactly playmate material. And then there's Krystal, and I don't have to tell you how important it is for her to have you close.

J.R.: I appreciate it, Tad. Thank you.

Tad: What is it?

J.R.: Little Adam keeps asking about his grandpa.

Tad: Yeah, well, it's a fair question. Adam keeps calling the house. It seems like he'd kind of like to know what you're up to, what you're going to do.

J.R.: I don't know what to tell him. On top of that, I've got to deal with Hayward.

Krystal: No, you don't. David's agreed to leave Pine Valley for good.

Pete: Adam told Erica that we contaminated Bella.

Colby: You can't be serious? Why?

Pete: He said the stress of being about to die made him snap. She knows everything. That's why he's sending me away.

Colby: He can't do that.

Pete: Adam says I don't have a choice.

Colby: Um, yeah, you do, Pete.

Pete: But -- but Adam said it's for my protection.

Colby: Are you kidding? He's found the perfect scapegoat. He'll make sure you're not around to defend yourself and then blame the whole Bella mess on you.

Pete: But that's not what he said.

Colby: Trust me. My dad will do anything to save himself, even if it means ruining your life. Well, guess what. I won't let him do it.

Jack: Hey, Zach. I'm so sorry about Kendall.

Zach: Thank you.

Bianca: Is there any change?

Zach: No. Well, Greenlee's in there if you want to pop your head in.

Jack: I'd like to do that. Thanks. I'll see you at the place later, ok?

Bianca: Ok. Did Greenlee convince you to take a break?

Zach: Yeah, I'm going to go see the boys. I'm on my way out. What about you?

Bianca: Yeah, I am, too. I guess I didn't get very far. Honestly, I really don't know where to go. I mean, Reese called, and she and Miranda are finally on their way.

Zach: That's great.

Bianca: But our original plan was to rent a house on the beach, and with the tornados, it's probably not the brightest idea.

Zach: Stay with me, with us. I mean, I could -- I could use some help anyway.

Bianca: Uh, I mean, are you sure that that would be ok?

Zach: Yeah, of course. Kendall's not going to be there, so, uh, for the boys, you're the next best thing.

Bianca: Ok. Well, let's go home.

Zach: Let's go. This you?

Bianca: Yeah, that's mine. Thanks.

Angie: Are you Rebecca?

Woman: You're her. You're Angie. I -- I was trying to find Natalia.

Angie: 324, down the hall.

Woman: Thank you.

Angie: Your daughter's going to be just fine.

Jesse: My team knows how to work situations like this. You do not. So please, call me if you hear anything.

Annie: We will.

Ryan: Thank you for stopping by, Jesse. We appreciate it.

Jesse: Mm-hmm.

Ryan: Thanks.

Annie: Bye. Do you think -- do you think the kidnapper has no intentions of returning Emma?

Ryan: No, I don't, because I can't.

Natalia: Just doesn't make any sense. You're here, Mom. Why don't you just talk to Dad?

Rebecca: We decided to let him go, Natalia.

Natalia: Don't you mean you decided?

Rebecca: That's enough. I do not want to have this conversation again. I'm tired.

Natalia: And weak and depressed and dizzy.

Rebecca: I'm fine.

Natalia: You're not fine, Mom.

Rebecca: Natalia --

Natalia: You miss him. So do I.

Rebecca: Natalia --

Natalia: Look, I'm not saying that you should ask for him back. I'm just saying that you should talk to him --

Rebecca: Honey --

Natalia: Say hi.

Rebecca: Stop it. You shouldn't even be here, remember?

Natalia: Mom, you have barely left the bed since Dad left.

Rebecca: That does not give you the right to blow into this town and disrupt Jesse's life.

Natalia: I'm worried, ok? You have not been the same.

Rebecca: I think that you are seeing what you want to see. Now, I need you to be strong. Can you do that?

Natalia: Don't talk to me like I'm a child.

Rebecca: Well, why not? You are -- you are my child. And despite what you think, you do not know everything.

Colby: You don't get to order him around or send him away. Dosing Bella was your idea, Dad -- own up.

Adam: "Own up"? That's what I'm trying to do. That's what we're doing right here, right now -- own up before Erica Kane lowers the boom.

Colby: Huh. You didn't honestly think I'd buy that.

Adam: You doubt that I would try to protect one of your friends?

Colby: The only person you know how to protect is yourself.

Adam: That is so totally unfair. My family means everything to me.

Colby: Really? Hmm. Tell that to J.R. -- oh, wait. You can't because he doesn't want to be anywhere near you.

J.R.: So you're just going to believe Hayward, because he said so?

Krystal: He looked me straight in the face and told me that he was leaving.

J.R.: Yeah, well, David is also a lying, conniving S.O.B. who makes Richie Novak look like a saint. Why would you believe anything he says?

Tad: I'm sorry, baby. I'm with J.R. on this one.

Krystal: Look, David has done some awful, awful things.

J.R.: "Awful"? What -- have you lost your mind?

Krystal: No, no. I lost my baby. And you lost your wife. Now, I know you're in a state because I'm in one, too, but we're not the only ones grieving here, J.R.

J.R.: But Babe hated her father.

Krystal: Well, that doesn't mean he didn't care. You saw him in the hospital when he came down from the roof, and I saw the look in his face this morning. He was devastated. No matter what you think about David, he loved his daughter.

J.R.: Yeah, well, he had a real interesting way of showing it.

[Krystal sighs]

Tad: Krystal, I know what you're saying, hon, and I'm sure he was convincing, but you more than anybody in the world should know what he's capable of.

Krystal: And you ought to know what Babe was capable of. She saved you, didn't she?

J.R.: Like a thousand times.

Krystal: Well, then why can't you see that's exactly what she did for David? I mean, being Babe's father was David's one soft spot. You of all people ought to know about that.

J.R.: No, don't -- don't even compare me to him. Look, I've screwed up, but I've never pulled half the crap that Hayward has.

[J.R. sighs]

Krystal: All right, look, I -- I didn't mean to upset you, I really didn't. I just thought David leaving town would be good news.

[Tad chuckles]

Tad: It is -- if he's telling the truth.

J.R.: Well, just so you know, if he comes anywhere near my family, I will do whatever it takes to protect them.

[Ryan and Annie show up at the motel and find Aidan in the room]

Angie: I need to sign these. Be sure she gets those, ok?

Rebecca: Excuse me. Thank you so much for taking such good care of Natalia.

Angie: I was just doing my job.

Rebecca: I know, I know, but under the circumstances, it -- I'm sorry if Natalia's coming here and my coming here has caused any problems between you and Jesse.

Angie: You haven't caused any problems. You and Natalia actually cleared a lot of things up.

Pete: Maybe we should go outside, get some air.

Colby: No. It makes me sick, Daddy. After all the grief you've given J.R., turns out he's twice the man you'll ever be.

J.R.: That's enough, Colby. Just leave him alone.

Colby: What?

J.R.: You heard me.

Adam: Hi.

Little Adam: Mommy's with the angels.

Adam: Yes, yes, she is. And they'll take real good care of her.

J.R.: Hey, I tell you what -- how about you go out to the terrace? I'll see if I can snag some of those cookies from Lucretia's kitchen, huh?

Colby: Yeah, let's go.

J.R.: Sound good?

Adam: Oh. And now that he's gone, you can tell me what you really feel about me.

J.R.: You know how we feel, Dad, about being here and -- but, you know, I'm not going to go into that. I'm here to tell you that I'm done.

Adam: Well, with -- with what? With me or with Pine Valley or with the continental United States? Or -- could you be a little more specific?

J.R.: All of it. Look, I don't want to fight anymore.

Adam: I never wanted to fight.

J.R.: Dad? I forgive you.

Adam: I wasn't aware I'd committed an offense.

J.R.: I don't need you to be aware. I just need you to hear me on this, because if I leave without saying -- just let me be real clear on something, ok? This doesn't mean that I'm forgetting, this doesn't mean that I'm moving back in, and it sure as hell doesn't mean that I'm going to trust you. But I do forgive you.

Adam: Well, I hardly know -- thank you, J.R.

J.R.: No, don't -- don't even bother, because this isn't about you. This is about me staying off the bottle. And this is me doing it for my son.

Ryan: How did you get here?

[Aidan closes the door]

Aidan: I tapped your phone.

Annie: What? We didn't agree on that.

Aidan: If you need me to help you find Emma, I need to know what's going on.

Ryan: That's just the thing, Aidan -- we don't want your help, not anymore.

Aidan: Why? What's changed?

Annie: The kidnapper knew about Ryan and Jesse's little meeting.

Ryan: He warned -- he called and he warned us again if we even talked to the police, Emma could get hurt, ok?

Aidan: So, we will be more careful.

Ryan: No.

Aidan: I'm not the police, Ryan.

Annie: Oh, well, you're close enough, Aidan. This is our daughter's life we're talking about here, ok? We're not taking any chances.

Ryan: You got to get out of here, Aidan.

Annie: I mean, the kidnapper could be on his way now. And if he sees you --

Aidan: He won't.

Ryan: And how do you know that?

Aidan: Because the kidnapper was already here. He left this.

Ryan: Have you looked at it?

Aidan: No. I was waiting for you.

Greenlee: If this is your way of getting attention, you got it. Enough is enough. I need you, ok? Fusion needs you. More importantly, your family needs you, so wake up. You need a bigger audience than me, fine. I can wait. But, Kendall, I don't know if Zach can.

Zach: So when is this specialist coming? Hey, and I'll tell Kendall next time I see her. Yeah, me, too. Hello.

Bianca: Hello.

Zach: Did you get everything you need?

Bianca: Yeah, thank you so much. Oh, and are you kidding me with those kids? Spike and Ian are beyond adorable.

Zach: Take after their mom.

Bianca: I talked to Reese. She and Miranda are on their way to New York and then as soon as the roads clear up --

Zach: Family united.

Bianca: Yeah. I cannot wait for her to meet this little beauty. But I do hope you're on better behavior when she gets here. I don't know what is wrong with her -- I just fed her.

Zach: It's the new place, new people. Let me try. Do you mind?

Bianca: Sure.

Zach: Come here. Hello. Oh, my goodness, yeah. You did? Really?

[Monitor beeps in Kendall's room while Greenlee sits with her, then alarms go off]

Angie: I always knew more happened in those 20 years than Jesse let on. I, um, just didn't know how much more.

Rebecca: Angie, I loved Jesse. And he loved me in his own way, but it was always you. I hope you know that.

Angie: Natalia told me how Jesse left and what you did. You made a big sacrifice.

Rebecca: Is Jesse happy?

Angie: Yes.

Rebecca: Then it was the right thing to do.

Angie: Um, do you plan on --

Rebecca: On seeing him? I came here for my daughter, no one else.

Colby: Wow. That was --

Pete: Intense.

Colby: Dad, are -- are you ok?

Pete: What are you doing?

Adam: Well, if I'm half the man J.R. is, I've got some making up to do.

[Adam chuckles as Colby hugs him]

Krystal: You rest easy, baby doll. Tad and I have got it covered. Little A and J.R. are going to be just fine.

Adam: You're taking those out to Little A? Would you mind if I spent a little time with my grandson?

David: Oh, you are? Oh, my gosh.

J.R.: Get your hands off my son.

Annie: Is that --

Ryan: It's her.

Annie: Oh, my God. Emma! Oh, my God.

Aidan: She looks ok.

Ryan: Thank God.

Annie: Oh.

Emma: Mommy, are you there?

Annie: Oh. Yes, baby, it's Mommy. I'm -- I'm right here. I'm right here. Oh, my God.

["Ten Million Dollars" flashes across the screen]

Bianca: Something about a father's voice, huh?

Zach: She doesn't --

Bianca: Very soothing.

Zach: Come on, she doesn't know who I am.

Bianca: Of course, she does -- she knows exactly who you are.

[Phone rings]

Zach: Can you get that? I got my hands full.

Bianca: Yes, absolutely.

Zach: Yeah.

Bianca: Slater residence. Greenlee. Green-- Greenlee, just slow down. It's Kendall -- her heart stopped.
