Adam: There's no need to be nervous, sweetheart. It's just a -- a deposition. All you have to do is tell the truth.
Colby: The whole truth, then, nothing but the truth?
Adam: Only the truth that's, uh, that matters.
Adam: Barry will be there. He'll be going through what happened that night at Fusion, step by step, how you sampled the Bella, how it made you nervous and -- and very sick, and it's important that you establish that the perfume was responsible. I'm sorry you have to go through this, but you're our star witness in our suit against Fusion.
Colby: And if I don't go along, you set up Pete to take the fall.
Adam: Um --
Barry: Colby, uh, I need to confer with opposing counsel for a minute and then we'll be ready for you.
Adam: How'd it go, Pete?
Pete: Fine. They asked about the night Colby got sick, that's all.
Adam: Good. Excuse me.
Colby: So, you didn't have to lie about your involvement with my dad?
Pete: No, just about how shocked I was at what the perfume did to you.
Adam: Hi, Erica. I'm sorry. Well, we, uh -- they set up depositions this morning for our lawsuit against Fusion.
Erica: Really? That's funny. That's one of the things I wanted to talk to you about.
Jack: Colby, we're ready for you.
Erica: What's Jack doing?
Adam: Oh, that? Nobody told you? Um, yeah, he's representing Fusion for Kendall and Greenlee. A shame he's going to have to lose to me.
Aidan's voice: Now I know that you really are in love with Ryan.
Greenlee's voice: There's no point in talking about this.
Aidan's voice: Oh, why, why, because it's the truth?
Aidan: I just came to get a change of clothes.
Greenlee: Where'd you sleep last night?
Aidan: My car. Where did you sleep last night? With Ryan?
Greenlee: Stop, please.
Aidan: Ok. Will you?
Greenlee: Stop what?
Aidan: Loving another man.
Greenlee: I don't love Ryan.
Aidan: No more, Greenlee, ok? No more.
[Zach makes airplane sounds]
Zach: Ah. Yeah. And now we eat. Hah. What? Your turn next.
Zach: Want this?
Kendall: Oh, I was just thinking how perfect the two of you look. Did Rachael take Spike to the park?
Zach: Uh-huh. You all right?
Kendall: I don't know, I don't know. Everything's so complicated, isn't it complicated? Yeah, it's just I -- I'm going faster and faster and -- and I have no idea to what end.
Zach: Well, you got to live in the here and now. So, come here.
Kendall: Gladly come -- I'm going to come now and going to --
Zach: See, this is the only thing that's important -- family. Rah. What are you eating? How fat are you?
Kendall: Yeah, you know what? Well, I agree with you and if that is true, then how'd you do it? How did you convince Annie to give up Emma?
Ryan: Come in.
Annie: Where's Emma?
Ryan: Uh, she's not here. Corrina's picking her up at school.
Annie: Oh, I thought -- when -- when you said you wanted to see me, I thought --
Ryan: We need to talk about Emma, but first, um, I'd like some answers.
Annie: To what? You got everything you wanted, Ryan. You got Emma. I'm out of your life. You're free.
Ryan: You told the jurors that Emma would be better off with me. Why'd you do that? Why did you suddenly give up like that? I want to know what you're hiding.
Annie: What, does everyone have to have an ulterior motive?
Ryan: Something changed, Annie, something happened.
Annie: Ryan, do you have any idea how difficult it was for me to tell the judge I wanted you to have custody of her?
Ryan: So then, why did you do it?
Annie: Because I love her, and I want her to live a happy life. I have no home. I have no job. Someone is stalking me, threatening to hurt me. My life is no place for Emma right now. And as painful as that is, I accept it. I wouldn't be a good mother if I didn't accept it.
Ryan: You've always been a good mother.
Annie: Yeah. Well, you obviously had some doubts if you took her from me to begin with, so -- is she doing ok?
Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, she slept well.
Annie: Did -- I saw Greenlee at the courthouse. I know it's none of my business but --
Ryan: Greenlee did not show up here last night, ok?
Annie: I shouldn't ask you that. It's just this whole thing has been really, really difficult for me. I know that we can't be together, Ryan, but I don't want you to hate me.
Ryan: I don't hate you, Annie, I don't. And -- and I'm so sorry that it's come to this, I really truly am. Well, I guess we need to talk about the rules.
Annie: The rules? For seeing my own daughter? My God, what has happened to my life?
Zach: Took a bad fall but she knows that she has to somehow provide a good -- good environment for Emma, and she knows it's going to take work. So, she's not gone completely off the deep end.
Kendall: You are a better person than I.
Kendall: You are also a wonderful, wonderful father. Yes, he is. He's a wonderful father.
Zach: Where do you get that silly voice?
Kendall: Because I can't take it. And you are also the man that I have fallen madly in love with.
Zach: Oh, my goodness.
Kendall: I'm sorry.
Kendall: Oh, ah. I'm sorry things have been so difficult with us lately.
Zach: Hey, shh. Always just -- here and now, right?
Kendall: Right. Here and now.
Jack: Colby, how much time would you estimate passed between you sampling the perfume and your beginning to feel strange, as you put it?
Colby: Um, I'm not sure, 10, 20 minutes.
Jack: Well, what exactly were your first symptoms?
Colby: Um, kind of light-headed, unsteady, like I'd had too much to drink or something.
Jack: And do you still drink on occasion?
Barry: Uh, don't answer that, Colby. Go off the record. Come on, Montgomery, this is pre-lim discovery not trial.
Jack: Well, see, the thing is, Barry, Colby's been known to be intoxicated from time to time, and I think it's important we know whether she had anything at all to drink the night of the Bella launch party.
Barry: You're trying to assassinate my client's character right out of the gate. You used to be more clever than that, Jack. You've lost your touch.
Jack: You think?
Jack: We'll see.
Barry: Back on record.
Jack: So, Colby, did you, in fact, have anything to drink that night?
Jack: Ok. So, you say you felt woozy as if you'd had something to drink. Then what happened?
Colby: I don't remember. I -- I just know that everyone was telling me I was being strange, but I really didn't have anything to drink.
Erica: Adam, don't you think you're going too far?
Adam: Erica, my daughter's life could be at stake. Another spritz or two of Bella, she could have been dancing in traffic.
Erica: Oh, Adam, no one has had that extreme reaction to the perfume.
Adam: Well, possibly because of my well-publicized lawsuit. Hmm?
Erica: Adam, you are trying to destroy the company that my daughter has worked so, so hard to make successful.
Adam: Erica, you know that if I possibly could, I would do this for you. I'd arrange it -- if not for Kendall then for you, certainly, but there are so many people involved in this mess now. This is a class-action lawsuit, class action. I -- I am responsible for all those little people who are equally aggrieved.
Erica: Ok, listen to me, Adam, you can settle with Fusion's insurance company. They would make sure that they come up with enough money to satisfy all the little people and -- and Fusion wouldn't have to go into bankruptcy.
Adam: I'm afraid my hands are tied on this.
Aidan: You can't deny it, can you?
Greenlee: I don't know how I feel. My feelings for Ryan are complicated. I'm sorry. I didn't want this to happen. I'm not even sure how it happened. I've made a mess of things.
Aidan: You know what? It's not all your fault. I mean, I knew what I was getting into. I knew about the two of you and how -- how intense it was. I just -- I loved you so much. I thought I could stamp all that out. And then what happened with Kendall and I --
Greenlee: We just need time to fix this. What we have is too good to just --
Aidan: Look, time is not going to make a difference, Greenlee, and you know that. We're just going to keep getting at each other again and again until there's nothing left. And in the end, you'll still love Ryan.
Greenlee: What are you saying? What are you saying, that it's over? Aidan, please, don't do that. Please.
Greenlee: I want to fight for this.
Aidan: That's all I've been doing, Greenlee, is fighting, and I don't have any fight left in me anymore.
Annie: Scheduled supervised visits?
Ryan: When things calm down for you, then we will revisit that.
Annie: Isn't it enough that you won, Ryan? You got Emma. So stop this. Think about what you're doing to her.
Ryan: She's all I'm thinking about, Annie.
Annie: Then you know what? Think about what you're doing to me. Haven't I suffered enough? I mean, do you really hate me that much?
Ryan: I don't want you to suffer, Annie, and I don't hate you at all, ok? I just want you to get better. I want you to get better. I still think it would be a good idea if you saw a psychiatrist.
Annie: I have, Ryan. As a matter of fact, my shrink was going to come testify on my behalf at the hearing and tell the judge that I was sane, ok? So you can lay that fear to rest.
Ryan: Ok, well, I'm glad to hear that but I still think we should take this just -- just one step at a time, you know? I'm very, very, very confident that eventually we'll get to a point that's satisfactory for both of us.
Annie: Listen to you. Listen to you. You are so cut-and-dry, analytical. I loved you once, and you loved me until she came back. And now you talk about me and our marriage like it's some business deal gone sour.
Ryan: I don't want you to be unhappy, Annie. And I did love you, I really did. But we both know that things are very, very different now. There's a lot that has changed, ok? And just arguing about that is just going to bring up more pain. So, I promise you that we will adjust the visitation rights as time goes on but things have to be like this for now. I'm very sorry.
Annie: So am I.
Ryan: Annie, I'm going to make some calls, and I'm going to find you a place to stay.
Annie: How kind of you. Tell my daughter I love her.
Adam: I have a reputation to uphold.
Erica: You do?
Adam: Yes. I am a titan of industry. Settling would be a sign of weakness. I'm afraid we're going just have to let this play out. What do you want?
Pete: Annie Lavery's here. She wants to talk to you.
Adam: No, tell her I'm busy. Show her where her bags are.
Pete: She really wants to talk to you.
Adam: If you'll excuse me for a moment --
Erica: Hello, Pete.
Pete: Miss Erica.
Adam: I took the liberty of packing your bags and putting them there. If you're thinking about asking me to take them to the car for you, forget it.
Annie: Please, I just need a few more days until I find a new place to stay.
Adam: You've already overstayed your welcome.
Annie: I have nowhere else to go, Adam.
Adam: Yeah, not my problem. Now, out.
Colby: So, you're just throwing her out on the street?
Adam: This isn't a hotel.
Annie: It's ok, Colby. I don't want to stay where I'm not welcome.
Pete: Maybe I can talk to my mom. Sometimes she takes people in.
Annie: That's ok, Pete. I don't think your mom would go for that, not after my brother stayed there. It's all right. I'll figure it out.
Driver: I'm here to pick up Mrs. Lavery.
Adam: Perfect timing. Uh, don't forget her baggage.
Annie: Um, who are you?
Driver: Pine Valley Limousine Service. I was told to come here and take you to your new place.
Annie: A limousine? Ryan -- he said he'd make some phone calls. Maybe he's feeling guilty.
Driver: The gentleman said he'd meet you there.
Barry: Good to see you.
Erica: Barry. Adam, I think that it's time for me to leave. Hi. Jack -- what are you doing here?
Jack: I'm taking depositions, Erica.
Erica: Really? For what?
Jack: Well, I'm representing Fusion in the lawsuit that Adam's brought against them.
Erica: Oh, Jack. I mean, don't you think you've gone a little bit too far?
Jack: In what way have I gone too far?
Erica: Come on, Jack. We both know there's only one reason you would take this.
Jack: You think it's because I'm jealous of you and Adam.
Kendall: What the hell happened here?
Greenlee: F.D.A. search warrant. They took our files, computers. Forgot to clean up after they left.
Kendall: God, look at this place.
Greenlee: Reminds me of my life right now. God, what have we done? How could we let Babe and Amanda run us into the ground like this?
Kendall: Well, it's our own fault. We took our eye off the ball.
Greenlee: What are we going to do?
Kendall: Fight, survive, do whatever we have to do.
Greenlee: I can't.
Kendall: Are you kidding me? What? Yes, you can. You can and you will. Babe resigned and she's taken responsibility for the whole screw-up, and Jackson can use that to help with the lawsuit. We've already trimmed payroll. So, we'll trim even more if we have to and then we'll start rebuilding our relationships --
Greenlee: No, you don't understand. I can't do it.
Kendall: Yes, Greenlee, of course, you can.
Greenlee: The marriage is over, and it's all your fault.
Erica: Jack, you made it obvious you're not happy I'm spending so much time with Adam.
Jack: Let me be clear about this. I'm here because I'm representing my daughter's company, your daughter's company, as well. That's why I'm here. That's the only reason I'm here. I'm here, because I'm trying to save my daughter. Shouldn't you be trying to do the same thing for yours?
Barry: Now listen, Montgomery is laying foundation to paint Colby as a substance abuser.
Adam: No, Montgomery's bluffing. He's -- he's too pious to drag Colby through the mud even if it's going to save his daughter's company. Nope, we push for a trial.
Barry: All right, then. In that case, I've got some subpoenas to serve.
Adam: Yeah, well, go serve them.
Pete: Why are you pushing so hard for a trial? No matter what you think, they could still try to smear Colby.
Adam: Hmm. Yeah, well, um, that's not going to happen. They won't get a chance to. You see, son, if you think back, what was our original intention in all of this?
Pete: For you to be able to buy out Fusion.
Adam: Yes, you got -- still got some few grey cells left up there. I want to buy out the company but I want to buy them out dirt cheap, and to do that, we've got to get those women all on their knees begging for some kind of financial out. You think you may go into business some day? You not only have to learn how to fight, son, you have to learn how to fight dirty.
Pete: That's how you conduct business? I don't think I'm interested.
Adam: I'm not surprised. You're weak, just like your father. That's why I always got the best of him.
Pete: No, that's not exactly correct.
Adam: You know, I'm getting awfully tired of looking up and seeing that sad little prairie dog look of yours, no matter where I look. I want you to go home, and I want you to stay there. You've outlived your usefulness.
Erica: When have you ever known me not to care about my family?
Jack: You have a damn strange way of showing it.
Jack: These girls are fighting for their professional lives, and you're having tea and crumpets with the man who would be their executioner.
Erica: I have my reasons.
Jack: I'm sure you do. I just hope to hell they're good ones. See you later.
Adam: See you in court, Montgomery. Finally, we're rid of all the lawyers.
Erica: I know I'm running late.
Adam: Yeah. Um, and pardon me, uh, well, can we take a rain check?
Adam: Yeah, good. Our meetings seem to always get interrupted somehow.
Erica: Yes, I know.
Adam: Maybe we should arrange for later dinners.
Erica: Call me.
Kendall: You can't blame me for what Ryan did to you.
Greenlee: Why couldn't you just let me be happy with Aidan? Every time Ryan needed someone there, you were pushing me toward him, telling me how much he needed me.
Kendall: You can -- don't blame me for this, Greenlee. You could have resisted him.
Greenlee: I did. I tried, but every time I turned around, there he was -- and you whispering in my ear, telling me how much he needed me, how much he loved me. All I wanted to do was save my relationship with Aidan, but you had to ruin that, too. You had to go and sleep with him.
Annie: This is lovely.
Driver: If there's nothing else, I have another client to pick up.
Annie: Oh, sure, go for it. My husband should be here soon. Actually, we're separated, but he obviously still comes through for me. So -- so thank you.
Ryan: Hey, there she is. There's my little pumpkin. Did you have fun at school?
Emma: I want to tell Mommy. When can I see her?
Ryan: Um, well, you can see her real soon, ok? I promise. Let me take a look at those hands. Let me see your hands. Oh, my goodness, you've been having way too much fun. Do you mind going and cleaning up, clean those hands?
Ryan: Thanks. Off you go.
Ryan: Hey, um, I wanted to thank you for -- for really stepping up to the plate with this. I don't really know what I'd -- what I'd do without you.
Corrina: Hey, she's a great kid. I'm just -- I'm sorry things are so rough between you and her mom.
Ryan: Thanks. Yeah, um, sort of on that subject, I want to make sure that you understand the way things are going to be right now, ok? Just -- just for now, Annie can't see Emma unless it's a scheduled supervised visit.
Annie: What are you doing here?
Zach: I'm sorry if I startled you.
Annie: I thought Ryan -- what is it that you want, Zach? What -- what are you trying to do?
Zach: I just want to help.
Annie: Help me by blackmailing me with your little shrink friend? By taking my child?
Zach: I understand you're upset, but I did what I did for Emma.
Annie: Of course. Of course. Keep her away from crazy Annie.
Zach: You got to get your life back on track, and you need a place to do it.
Annie: You're doing this as a reminder for me, aren't you?
Zach: Of what?
Annie: Of the hold you have over me, because you know my little secret. You're going to make me pay for what I did. But how, Zach? What is it that you really want from me?
Pete: Your dad is determined to take this thing to court.
Colby: He won't let it get that far.
Pete: He said so to his lawyer. He's determined to bring down Fusion. If -- if that happens, they'll tear you apart on the stand. I've decided I'm going to tell Greenlee and Kendall the truth. It was your dad's idea, but I helped.
Colby: That would be the stupidest thing you can possibly do.
Pete: But it would stop the lawsuit.
Colby: No, it wouldn't. You'd just end up in jail, and I couldn't stand to see that happen.
Pete: You couldn't? Really?
Greenlee: What a mess.
Kendall: So what happened?
Greenlee: It seems Aidan trusts me so much that he planted a bug in my new earrings.
Kendall: Well, that's a new one.
Greenlee: He heard Ryan make some big romantic pitch to me and thought that he heard much worse, but he heard enough.
Kendall: So you're serious, then? It's really over?
Greenlee: According to Aidan it is.
Kendall: Can I do anything for you?
Greenlee: Don't worry about me. Worry about our company.
Kendall: Well, there's not really much to do right now -- I mean, not until the -- the lawyers settle things.
Greenlee: Yeah. I'm just going to clean up my desk, and then I'll lock up. Why don't you go home? Go home and appreciate the man who loves you.
Kendall: I think I'll do that, but I think you should do the same thing.
Greenlee: Aidan's not even speaking to me.
Kendall: I'm not talking about Aidan.
Greenlee: No, no, no. Whatever happens from here on out, Ryan and I are not an option.
Aidan: Stop the work.
Foreman: What's that?
Aidan: There's been a change of plan. I want you to stop the work. I'm abandoning the project.
Foreman: Mr. Devane, we have a contract --
Aidan: Go on, get out. We'll talk about the contract later.
[Aidan screams as he smashes a wall with a sledgehammer]
Pete: It would really bother you if I went to jail?
Colby: Hello. Yes. I told you that yesterday. Not that you weren't a total idiot for buying into my father's plan, but, hey, throw a dart at the Pine Valley phone book, and you'll hit someone who's made the same mistake.
Pete: I only did it so I could be near you more.
Colby: I know.
Pete: And I'm not stupid. I know I annoy the heck out of you, but I really like you. I like the way you laugh. I like talking to you. And I know I'm not as cool as Dré, but --
Pete: I would do anything for you, honestly. And the last thing I want to see is for you to have to lie in court because I was a --
Colby: Shh. Enough. You know, I never thought I'd say this, but you can be very sweet.
Jack: Greenlee, you all right?
Greenlee: That's a trick question.
Jack: What's going on here? Where -- where is everybody?
Greenlee: Well, let's see. Kendall went off to find Zach. Babe resigned. Annie was fired. Amanda was so stressed out about losing her fortune, she locked herself on her yacht, and she's not coming out. And the F.D.A. sent its goons over here with a warrant and cleaned out our files. Oh, and I think my marriage is over.
Jack: I'm sorry.
Greenlee: How's your day going so far?
Jack: Honey, you want to --
Greenlee: Talk about my marriage? No.
Jack: Anything I can do?
Greenlee: Just settle this damn lawsuit. Maybe there's something in my life that I can salvage.
Jack: Well, I'm working on that, believe me. I just spent the morning at Chandler's. I've got to tell you, though, Adam is playing hardball with this thing. Speaking of which, where's Kendall? I want to talk to her about what Erica's doing with Adam.
Greenlee: She told you what she's doing? I'm -- I'm surprised she told you.
Jack: Told me what?
Greenlee: Um, rewind the last 10 seconds and erase it, ok?
Jack: Yeah, not a chance of that. Come on, honey, tell me. What's going on with Erica and Adam? What's she up to?
Greenlee: I guess it doesn't matter. She's not making any headway with him anyway, but Erica is helping Kendall out by schmoozing Adam, trying to get as much information out of him as possible. And according to Kendall, Erica is hating every minute of it.
Jack: Is she?
Greenlee: Can you imagine cozying up to Adam? Listen, I got to get out of here and clear my head. Is there anything else that you wanted besides Kendall?
Jack: Yeah. Actually I wanted to go through the pile of files, but it looks like the F.D.A. beat me to it.
Greenlee: Not all of them. I -- I kept copies of a lot of the Bella stuff just in case Amanda and Babe screwed it up.
Jack: That's my girl.
Greenlee: They're in my personal files right there. Here.
Ryan: It's really important for you to know that none of this is your fault, ok? It's just that, well, Mommy and Daddy living in the same place just wasn't working anymore. Ok? And we both love you very, very much.
Emma: When can I see Mommy?
Ryan: We're going to figure that out with Mommy, and we're going to make sure that you know exactly when you're going to spend time with both of us, ok? Ok? Come here. I love you so much. We both do. What do you say we go get you ready for the park? Sound good? Ok. Any time you want to talk about this, you just talk to me about it, ok? Ok, let's go. Let's go to the park.
Alison: Ms. Kane. Erica Kane, if I could get a quick word --
Erica: Oh, no, no reporters.
Alison: Just a quick word or a quick quote. I'm Alison Brower with "Redbook."
Erica: Oh, then you are a reporter.
Alison: Editor, actually.
Erica: Well, do you have any credentials?
Alison: Uh, just this month's issue.
Erica: All right. Well, um, ms. Brower, as you know, this is a very sensitive time for Fusion. My daughter Kendall and the others, they're under a great deal of pressure.
Erica: Jack, what happened here?
Jack: The F.D.A. had a little raiding party this morning. I'm just going through the files that are left.
Erica: Where's Kendall? I need to see her.
Jack: I have no idea. Greenlee said something about her going to find Zach.
Erica: Oh, ok. Look, if she comes back, please ask her to call me.
Jack: I will. Hang on a second. Why didn't you just tell me that you were spying on Adam for Kendall?
Jack: "What?" You know you are and not enjoying one little minute of it, but you sure are working hard to make me think you are.
Erica: Well, what can I say? I've always been a good actress.
Jack: Listen, I'm sorry. I would like to apologize for coming down on you so hard about that. What?
Erica: It's just nice, that's all.
Jack: What is?
Erica: To know that you still care.
Colby: You're not going to sacrifice yourself just to save me from testifying. That would just be piling one lame mistake on top of another. And I know all about making lame mistakes.
Pete: Lame? You could never be lame.
Colby: You have no idea.
Pete: Not in my eyes.
Adam: What are you still doing here?
Adam: I told you this was house cleaning day. Scram and don't come back.
Colby: You stay right where you are.
Adam: You can't be serious.
Colby: He's my guest.
Adam: This is my house.
Colby: Well, maybe since you gave him a free pass to stick around, I got used to him. Maybe I like having Pete here now.
Adam: He's a Cortlandt, for God's sake. No.
Adam: No, you can't be serious. Hmm.
Annie: Maybe I should go to the police and just come clean, turn myself in, tell them that I killed Richie. At least then I would know what's in store for me.
Kendall: Oh, my God. You killed Richie?
[Greenlee finds her new house in shambles and cries]
Ryan: Have a good time, all right?
Ryan: Ok, see you later.
Ryan: What are you doing here? I asked you what you were doing here.
[Aidan is sitting in a chair in Ryan's living room holding a gun]
