Tad: Now that's just plain wrong.
Taylor: Jake's brother.
Tad: Tad Martin.
Taylor: Hey. I've heard good things about you.
Taylor: No, no. It's all good. It's all good. Don't worry.
Tad: Ah, good. I've heard a lot of great things about you, too.
Tad: I appreciate you being willing to meet up with me. You know, I could always hang out and do some wind sprints if you're not done working out.
Taylor: No, no, no. I think I'm good. So, what did you want to talk to me about?
Tad: Rumor has it you want to go back to Iraq. I think I can make that happen for you.
[Startled from her sleep, Annie gasps as she knocks Babe down]
Annie: Oh, my God! Babe!
J.R.: What the hell is wrong with you?
Pete: Is it true?
Adam: Didn't anybody ever tell you that's rude?
Pete: You can't do it. You can't sue Fusion.
Zach: All right. Hey.
Kendall: Hey. Boys ok?
Zach: Yeah. Playing blocks with Rachel.
Kendall: They were up bright and early.
Zach: I know. Emma still sleeping?
Kendall: Uh --
Zach: What are you doing here?
Ryan: I spent the night.
Annie: I -- I was asleep. Babe startled me.
J.R.: So you tackled her? You all right?
Babe: Yeah, I'm fine.
J.R.: Something wrong with the guest bedroom again?
Annie: I can't sleep up there. Not with Emma gone. And not after someone tried to break in through the window.
J.R.: All right, you know what? Branches hit the windows all over this house.
Annie: Ok, someone is stalking me, ok? He's in the tunnels. And he's watching from the bushes. And -- what? Oh, there she goes. Crazy Annie's at it again.
Babe: Nobody said that, Annie.
Annie: You guys, there is a man, ok? I saw him. He has dark hair, and he's wearing dark clothes. I saw him, and he grabbed me!
J.R.: You are under a lot of stress. It's understandable.
Annie: You're just like the rest of them. You think they should take my daughter away too, don't you?
Babe: No, Annie. We want to help you.
Annie: I don't need your help.
Pete: Our plan worked perfectly. We contaminated Bella. Fusion's tanking. And Greenlee and Kendall are freaking out. You can buy it for pennies. Why mess with that by suing them? Yes, Colby did get sick, but that's our fault. If you go to court, they'll find out everything. On the stand you'll be completely vulnerable. Like -- like when Superman is exposed to kryptonite.
Adam: Oh, for heaven's sakes, boy. Get a grip.
Pete: I can see it! "Mr. Chandler, did you or did you not endeavor to acquire Fusion?" "Nonsense." "Didn't you ruin their new perfume in order to send the company into a tailspin?" "Absolutely not." "In fact, your daughter Colby is not the victim of Fusion's negligence, but your own -- sprayed by a bottle of Bella you tainted!" "I didn't taint anything." "Ah-ha! But someone did. An accomplice. A co-conspirator. A brilliant cohort you used to move one step closer to total corporate domination. Isn't that correct?" "Uh -- all right! I confess it. But I did it with the help of that man. Peter Cortlandt." I'm begging you. Please don't do this to me. Just drop the lawsuit.
Adam: You're embarrassing yourself.
Pete: I'm not going down for this. I did everything you asked. I'm just asking for some protection. If you don't, I'll --
Adam: You'll what?
Ryan: Emma woke up while I was hanging a picture last night. And, you know, she's still running a little bit of a fever. So I told her that I would lie down with her, you know? Until she falls back asleep. And next thing you know, it's morning.
Kendall: Yeah. When I went in to check on the boys, I saw that you were asleep with Emma.
Ryan: Why didn't you wake me up?
Kendall: Well, I figured, you know, you needed a good night's rest. Emma needed her dad. So what's the harm?
Zach: I'm going to the office.
Ryan: You think Annie should have custody of Emma, don't you? She left a gun where our daughter can find it. She's done a lot of crazy stuff, Zach. We talked about this. You know that.
Zach: I'll see you at the office.
Annie: Babe and J.R. think I'm insane. They don't believe a word I say.
Zach: Slow down. What happened?
Annie: They turned on me. I'm so sick of this. Being accused and attacked when I've done nothing wrong. So I decided I'm not going to do it. I'm not going to go to some shrink to prove my sanity.
Zach: Well, you should maybe reconsider. You're fighting for the custody of your daughter.
Annie: I'll win.
Zach: If the judge has doubt? If Ryan just plants a little seed, you're going to lose Emma forever.
J.R.: Annie's going to be out of here soon.
Babe: I never should have brought her into this house.
J.R.: You didn't know she was going to turn out to be nuts.
Babe: I should have stayed out of Annie's problems. Instead, I made everything worse just like I did over at Fusion.
J.R.: All right. You didn't dose that perfume. My dad did.
Babe: Yeah, well he would have never worn Bella if I hadn't had that stupid idea to go after Fusion.
J.R.: First of all, it's not stupid. And it was my idea.
Babe: What was I thinking?
J.R.: You deserve to be in charge. It's a minor setback. We're going to get you on top again.
Babe: No, please, J.R. Just listen to me. I stayed up all last night thinking about my life. Thinking about our life here in Pine Valley. I went through all the years in my mind. And we had some really good stretches when we were happy. But it didn't last.
J.R.: This time it's different.
Babe: No, it's not. If we keep going like this, we're not going to make it.
Randi: Did I see a New York Jets jersey in one of those boxes?
Frankie: What? Don't you dare disrespect gang green. Whassup?
Randi: Um, hello?
Frankie: Now, see, I knew there was a reason why I like you.
Randi: Now, who would have thought -- another Jets fan in PA.
Frankie: Well, you know, I just figured that you --
Randi: What? I couldn't like football because I'm a girl?
Frankie: What else don't I know?
Randi: I'm a neat freak. And if I see things lying around then I just --
Frankie: Can't sit still? Yeah. I'm the same way. Shirts folded. Shoes lined up in a row. And dirty dishes? Uh-uh.
Randi: Good. Can you cook?
Randi: Don't worry. I burn toast.
Frankie: Yeah, well, this is me making dinner. Boop. Delivery.
Randi: Well, then I guess we better get some takeout menus.
Randi: So, um, are you a morning person or a night person?
Frankie: Doctor's hours. You are what your schedule says you are.
Randi: So lots of late nights.
Randi: Because I was wondering about when we go to bed. There's this thing that I've been worried about. With us moving in together. But maybe it won't be a problem after all.
Taylor: Do you have some pull with the military?
Tad: Oh, God, no. Nothing like that. It's just -- see, a friend of mine, I -- see, I used to be a private investigator. And a buddy, an old contact, he does private securities contracting over there. You know, in-country. He's looking for men and women.
Taylor: I'm sure he is. Thanks, but no thanks.
Tad: Oh, are you positive? I mean, you can't beat the pay.
Taylor: Well, I'm not in it for the money. Trust me.
Tad: What are you in it for?
Taylor: Um -- I'm in the Army? Soldiers in my unit need me?
Tad: Yeah, but according to Jake, the Army won't let you go back --
Taylor: No, no, no. They will. They will. It's just, there's -- you know, just paperwork stuff we're dealing with. In the meantime, I'm -- I'm staying in shape.
Tad: Hmm. Well, you're doing a heck of a job. You grow up an athlete?
Taylor: I sure did.
Tad: Hmm. Where was that? Where were you raised?
Taylor: Well, you know. We moved around a lot.
Tad: We? Big family? Brothers and sisters? Pets?
Taylor: You know what? Thanks for the offer, but I'm not interested.
Tad: Oh, I -- I'm just making conversation.
Taylor: I know. See you around, Tad.
Ryan: When I came downstairs there was some serious tension between you and Zach, ok?
Kendall: Well, actually, it's been a lot worse. You know what? He completely overreacted. I mean, you spent the night here to be with your sick daughter. So what?
Ryan: So he was angry.
Kendall: Well, he'll get over it. What matters right now is you making sure you win that custody suit.
Ryan: Ok, don't do this. Kendall, don't. Ok? Don't -- don't let my problems get between you and your husband, ok? You have such an unbelievably amazing life. Just focus on that.
Kendall: Ok, I don't need to be told what my priorities are, Ryan.
Ryan: It means a lot to me that you want to help, ok? It -- honestly, it does. But if it's making waves between you and Zach, then --
Kendall: You know, you are making way to much of this.
Ryan: Bottom line -- don't let me crash at your place without telling your husband.
J.R.: We're going to get married. We have worked too hard to get to this place. You're scared that I'm going to mess it up. I swear, Babe, I'm not.
Babe: No, but I might.
J.R.: What do you mean?
Babe: I don't feel comfortable here. I never have.
J.R.: We're going to get our own place.
Babe: No, it's not just this house. It's this entire town. It's like the Chandler zone. I've felt that way since day one.
J.R.: So much has changed. We have changed.
Babe: Yes. Yes, and I am really, really proud of us. But I'm afraid that after the honeymoon ends, we're going to get into another Chandler drama or battle and -- and everything is just going to fall apart.
J.R.: No, that's not going to happen.
Babe: You're going to get into another war with Adam, and I'm going to be even more frustrated with my career, and we're going to be going after things that we don't even want. J.R., we need room to grow. We need new choices. Different choices.
J.R.: Like what?
Babe: Like -- like whatever lets you keep being your own man and lets me discover what it is I really want. I thought I wanted Fusion, and instead, I was going after somebody else's dream. And that was never going to make me happy. You know, in a way, it was good that Bella was ruined. I really discovered something that I should have known a long time ago. I need my own dream. And part of that dream is you, and making this marriage work. That's why last night I thought about it. I thought, when was it that we were at our best? When was it that we were really, truly happy?
J.R.: We took this at a pier in San Diego.
Babe: Right before you asked me to marry you.
J.R.: It was a total impulse. Nothing ever felt so right.
Babe: Yes. This is the answer. This is when we were really, truly happy.
J.R.: Far away from here.
Babe: We can have that again.
J.R.: You want to leave Pine Valley?
J.R.: Let's do it.
Colby: Hi. Bye.
Adam: Uh, keep Pete company.
Colby: Where are you going?
Adam: I -- to get an aspirin. I have a splitting headache.
Colby: So, uh, why aren't you at Fusion?
Pete: It was a zoo down there, so they sent me home. I was in the way.
Colby: But you're Mister Science-Man. Can't you help them figure out what happened with Bella? You're not talking or trying to make out with me. There's definitely something wrong. Pete?
Pete: I don't want to talk about it. I can't. Especially not with you.
Colby: Hey. Hey, you can tell me anything.
Pete: I did it. I'm the one who poisoned Bella. It's because of me that you got sick.
Kendall: Zach is frustrated with me. And I would be, too, if I were in his position. But I would try to understand.
Ryan: Understand what?
Kendall: Why I care so much. I mean, there's a reason why I'm so much more invested in all of this than he is. You, me, and Greenlee. We have so much history together. A lot of which Zach was not a part of. And he thinks I'm meddling, but it's so much bigger than that. I love you. I think of everything that we've gone through together. How deep the connections run. And how deep they'll always run.
Ryan: And what about your connection with Zach?
Zach: You lost control of the situation. You got to get it back.
Annie: Yeah, I just -- I don't know if I can do this.
Zach: You've just got to talk to them.
Annie: Right. And then they'll testify at the custody hearing, tell everybody I'm sane, and I'll get my daughter back.
Zach: Yeah. He gave me his word. It's all about Emma. It's not what somebody else thinks. All right? Just be completely honest. Come here. Go.
Man's voice: Come in. Hello. I'm Dr. Price.
Annie: Annie Lavery.
Dr. Price: Please, have a seat. Tell me how I can help you.
Annie: No, I don't want to sit. I can't sit. I can't really do anything until this nightmare is over. Until I prove to everybody that I'm not crazy, and I get my child back. So do you understand what I'm saying? I am not crazy.
Colby: That's insane. You and my dad? No. No way.
Pete: I'm so sorry.
Colby: That's why you've been hanging out here? You're my father's evil sidekick?
Pete: I hate myself.
Colby: You just stood there and watched Babe spray me with drugged up perfume?
Pete: No, no, that was a mistake. A horrible mistake. I promise, I will spend the rest of my life making that up to you.
Colby: What about all the other sick people? What about the women at Fusion? Why, Pete? Why did you do it?
Pete: For you. Your dad hates me. He wouldn't let me anywhere near you, so I offered him a deal. I dose Bella, he stays out of the way.
Colby: You did this to be near me? But you lied to me. You make me sick. You committed this huge crime for nothing. You're a bigger loser than I thought.
Babe: Leaving Pine Valley is a big decision. Take some time. Think about it.
J.R.: I don't need any more time. Look, I've made so many bad choices. I've hurt my family so many times. I'm just trying to figure out who I am, you know? I jumped on that tramp steamer trying to figure out who I am other than just Adam Chandler, Junior. But I came back. To stick it to my father. And I used you to do it, and that was stupid and it was immature.
Babe: You can really walk away from your father?
J.R.: Yes. Because I've grown up. We've grown up. We've outgrown this place. I say we leave today.
Babe: Look, there's no rush.
J.R.: Why stay in a place that's so wrong? We can go to San Diego. We can get married on that pier. And we could start our new life together. Just say yes.
Babe: Yes. You know, we have some really tough goodbyes ahead of us.
Adam: What's Babe up to? She went out of here with Little Adam like the house was on fire.
J.R.: She had something she had to take care of.
Adam: Oh, perchance Annie is prowling the grounds with a shotgun?
J.R.: Babe and I made a decision. We think it's best for everyone.
Adam: You've come to your senses? The wedding is off?
J.R.: Babe and I are still getting married. But not here.
Adam: Oh, please. Tell me you're not having the party at Martin's dump.
J.R.: There's not going to be a party. It's just going to be Babe, myself, and Little Adam. A simple ceremony, as soon as we get settled into California
J.R.: We're moving to San Diego. Today.
Tad: Hey, beautiful. Uh-oh. You ok?
Krystal: Not according to the universe. I just can't stop thinking about what Opal saw in those cards.
Tad: Oh, Lord, I told you you can't take Opal seriously. Baby, look, once upon a time she gazed into her crystal ball and swore to me I was going to inherit a monkey. You got to just humor her. Forget about it.
Krystal: Well, I'll try.
Tad's voice: There's my baby.
Krystal: Careful. She just had breakfast.
Tad: Whew. How many push-ups can you do?
Krystal: I don't know. I haven't done a push-up since Gym class.
Tad: To the best of my recollection, neither have I. But I just ran across Taylor. You know, Jake's super soldier?
Tad: She was in the middle of a workout, and I swear that woman's biceps are bigger than Jenny's head.
Krystal: Yeah, I noticed. Did you talk to her?
Tad: I tried. She wouldn't give me anything.
Krystal: Well, then, would you just take my advice and just drop it?
Tad: I can't. Somebody hired me to find out everything I can about her.
Krystal: Please, you got a mysterious e-mail. She probably has a stalker.
Tad: Nope. It doesn't feel like a stalker. My hunch still says that it's somebody from her family.
Krystal: Now, why would her family dish out all that money for a P.I. when they could just pick up the phone and call her?
Tad: Well, they might not have a choice. This girl is tough -- secretive, closed down. It turns out, with good reason. Her fiancÚ was killed over in Iraq.
Krystal: How awful.
Krystal: Well, it's going to take her awhile to get over that one, if she ever does.
Frankie: Hey, put that out of your mind. We don't even have to think about sex.
Randi: I wasn't talking about sex.
Frankie: But you said you were worried about a problem when you go to bed.
Randi: Yeah. I'm a light sleeper, so even if we sleep in separate rooms, if you snore, then that's a problem for me.
Babe: Mama. Mama.
Krystal: Oh. Could you -- here, take your sister.
Babe: Yeah, yeah. Where's Tad?
Krystal: Oh, he's in the other room with Kathy.
Babe: Oh. You want to go say hi?
Little Adam: Yeah.
Krystal: Oh, gosh.
Babe: Uh, uh, uh -- come, sit. Break time. Let's sit and talk.
Krystal: Yeah, well, you knew I needed a breather. I feel it, and then you feel it. That's the way we always are. What would I do without you? How are you?
Babe: Good, good -- busy.
Krystal: Yeah. Planning a wedding, huh? How's, uh -- how's Bella going?
Babe: A complete disaster. It blew up all in my face. But you know Fusion. It always battles back.
Krystal: Yep, with you leading the charge.
Babe: Actually, I won't be.
Krystal: Greenlee and Kendall fired you? That is outrageous.
Babe: No, Mama, they didn't fire me.
Tad: Hey, baby, have we got something covered in chocolate? What -- what's going on?
Babe: I was just telling Mama that I'm resigning from Fusion. J.R. and I, we want a fresh start. So we've decided, um, that we're leaving our jobs and the mansion and Pine Valley. We're moving to San Diego. I -- I know that -- that it's drastic, but we --
Krystal: No, no, listen. You go. You go, and you don't look back.
Adam: Stay, go, move in, move out. You're just wearing out your luggage.
J.R.: I'm leaving for good this time.
Colby: I don't want you to go.
J.R.: I have to. For my family. For myself.
Adam: I give it a month -- tops.
J.R.: You've done everything in your power to keep this from happening. And it worked, because I never had enough strength or confidence or courage to stand on my own. Until now. It's the only way. You have saved me more times than I can count. And now I have to save myself. I'm not doing it to hurt you. And I hope that you'll see that someday. I hope that you'll see that it's for the best for all of us. I love you. And no matter where I am, or where I go, you're always going to be my dad.
Colby: I'll miss you so much.
Colby: I won't leave you, Daddy. On one condition. You come clean about Bella. Pete told me everything.
Adam: Everything? You're -- you're sure?
Adam: Don't press this, Colby. If you do, I'll have to turn Pete over to the police.
Colby: You were in on it together.
Adam: No -- no. No, he masterminded the whole thing. And I can prove it. So he can say goodbye to his family, his friends, his Harvard, his -- his entire future. It's going to be gone.
Colby: You'd really destroy Pete's life to save yourself?
Adam: Honey, you don't understand. If you press this, Pete will go to prison.
Annie: I tried to save my marriage, and it didn't work. But I accept that now. I really do. But being called an unfit mother? No way. I take incredible care of Emma, and Ryan knows that, but he's turned on me.
Dr. Price: What happened?
Annie: He's being brainwashed by these two bitches. They're obsessed with me, and they hate that he married me. One of them? One of them actually destroyed my wedding. The other one recently harassed me when I was in the hospital.
Dr. Price: What, so this interference in your life and your marriage, it's been unrelenting.
Annie: Oh, absolutely. And they're never going to stop. And also, they're having me watched.
Dr. Price: Watched.
Annie: Followed, by a man. And he's grabbed me. He's grabbed me more than once. He's just -- he's -- he's always there, just lurking and watching, and I'm afraid. But the thing is, if I act afraid, then they make it seem like I'm crazy. And that's how they're going to win. That's their plan. See, they're trying to make me look like a lunatic, so they can take my daughter away from me and keep her from me forever. See? So -- I mean, you believe me, right?
Dr. Price: Annie, I want to help you resolve this as easily and quickly as possible.
Annie: So then you'll testify for me at the custody hearing?
Dr. Price: I'll be there -- on your side.
Kendall: Every relationship goes through its bumps. You argue, you disagree, you go to work without kissing your wife goodbye. Zach and I have done all of that, and we'll probably go through it again. But we'll be fine.
Ryan: Just promise me that you will take care of what you have, all right? You don't take it for granted.
Kendall: Ryan, I am so grateful for Zach. He is an amazing father. And he makes me feel -- feel secure and safe. He's generous, he's kind, he's strong.
Ryan: He's very, very, very, very patient.
Kendall: Yes, yes, that, too. He is. I agree. I never thought I could have all of this -- a man who could love me this much. And you tried. I know you did. But I couldn't trust what we had.
Ryan: That's ok, Kendall. It's ok.
Kendall: Well, I trust Zach completely. I just wish he would trust me a little more and back off when it comes to you and Greenlee.
Ryan: Kendall, your friendship means so much to me. You're such an incredible friend. And I know you mean well, but I think you're the one that needs to back off a little bit.
Kendall: Stop caring about you?
Ryan: No, stop worrying about me. You know, I can take care of myself. And you take care of your family -- your family, because family is everything.
Tad: Well, I'm proud of you.
J.R.: Yeah, well, you know, I'm just -- I'm sorry to spring this on you now out of nowhere.
Tad: It's not out of nowhere. The fact is, it's been a long time coming. And it's the right choice.
J.R.: Yeah, but with Jamie gone, I --
Tad: Jamie didn't have to grow up with Adam Chandler as a father, fighting tooth and nail to be who he really wanted to be.
J.R.: And how many times did you fight for me? Over and over again. Every time my dad tried to mold me into another man --
Tad: J.R., it doesn't matter. You were the one that did all the hard work. You quit drinking, you stepped up for Little A, and you got the girl.
J.R.: You've always looked out after me, and I appreciate that. And I'm going to miss my dad.
Tad: Yeah, but you'll probably miss me more.
J.R.: Yeah, I'm going to miss you. Yes, I'm going to miss you, and I'm going to miss you, and you. I'm not going to miss you, because you're going to be with us, but I'm going to miss all of you.
Taylor: I should have gone with the champagne, huh?
Frankie: Ooh, it's an ugly plant, L.T. But I love it, and I'll think of you every time I look at it.
Randi: Well, I've got to get back to work. I've got to help with, uh, damage control for Bella. I'll pick up some take-out menus.
Frankie: I'll pick up some earplugs.
Frankie: So, I'm not on 'til a little later. Want to grab a movie?
Taylor: Actually, I came by here, because I need your help.
Frankie: What's up?
Taylor: There's, uh, something I need to do, but I can't do it alone. And I've put it off way too long. It's time.
Adam: Ah, look who's here.
Little Adam: Look what Nana gave me for the trip.
Adam: That is splendid. That's beautiful. Uh, I have something for you, too. Um, actually, I was really disappointed that we didn't get to take our fishing trip together this summer. I was, uh, really wanting to spend some time with you. Just you and me, just -- just us fellas. So, uh, I want you to take this, and I want you to catch a really big one for me. Ok?
Little Adam: Of course.
Adam: Good. Good. Now, go and pack, ok? You better pack.
Little Adam: Ok.
Adam: Ok, off you go. Uh, I'd appreciate the occasional update on my grandson. Maybe he could call me now and then?
J.R.: Yeah, I'll, uh, I'll make sure.
Adam: You, I don't need to hear from. Have a nice life.
Ryan: Jake called. The tests came back. Emma's got strep.
Kendall: Oh, no.
Ryan: I know. I'm going to go to the hospital and get the medication.
Kendall: Ryan, I will not turn my back on you.
Kendall: I won't.
Ryan: Focus, ok? You, Zach, Spike, Ian, happy.
Kendall: I am happy. But you deserve to be happy, too. And you can be, if you would just fight for the woman you belong with. Greenlee.
[Annie grabs a fireplace poker and opens the terrace door]
Annie: Stop hiding, you coward. Come out and face me. I'm ready.
Zach: How'd it go?
Dr. Price: I have everything I need to testify at the hearing.
Zach: You sure?
Dr. Price: Mrs. Lavery was very forthcoming. I'll have no trouble convincing the judge to deny Annie custody.
