Randi: Hey, sorry about that. As I was saying, deliveries are set to ship in a day or two, and you're at the top of our list.
Kendall: Are you sure we have enough room for all these packages.
Delivery man: Well, uh, we might have to shuffle a few things around, but for you ladies, I'll make it work.
Kendall: You are the best. I love you. Thank you, Manny.
Kendall: Ok, uh, Randi, can you, uh, walk Manny down to the loading dock and help him load these up? Remember, last in, first out. We want the big stores to get a crack at all the good stuff.
Randi: You got it.
Kendall: Ok. Thanks.
Amanda: So, as you can see, it's pretty crazy around here. It's always like this before a product launch, but "Bella" has set the bar a lot higher.
Reporter: Well, it sounds like you guys have a winner on your hands. But it's still a big gamble, isn't it?
Amanda: Success demands a certain amount of risk.
Reporter: But Fusion has always been known as a high-end boutique operation. Whose idea was it to roll the dice and take it mainstream?
Amanda: Well, actually I put up the -- Fusion is a company run by women for women. It's always been like that. It's a team -- that's plural. And it was a group decision, one that the owners -- Greenlee Smythe and Kendall Hart Slater wholeheartedly encouraged. So I'm sorry, but I'm already late for an internal meeting.
Reporter: No problem. Thanks for the interview and good luck.
Amanda: Thank you.
Reporter: With "Bella."
Amanda: Hi. Uh, I was wondering when Babe gets here, I want to try and get everyone together for a meeting.
Kendall: What about?
Amanda: Well, I want to get everyone up to speed on the state of the launch, and I have some ideas I want to throw out.
Kendall: Ok, sure. Set it up. What's up?
Erica: Adam. We have to talk.
Kendall: Did you find out something?
Erica: Lots, and you were so right. Adam is out to get Fusion.
Adam: So they're still committed to a full order of "Bella?"
Pete: They've quadrupled it.
Adam: That's a lot of capital on the table, a lot of risk.
Pete: Yeah, if this "Bella" thing fails --
Adam: When it fails, you mean. What results have you gotten in the tainted samples?
Pete: Nothing reported yet from the buyers or the press who received "Bella."
Adam: So, your, um, concoction of "Blast" has turned out to be a dud, eh?
Pete: No, my creation affects different people in different ways. You've seen that. For all we know, allergic reactions have happened already, but nobody's thought to put two and two together and blame the samples. I told you about Greenlee and how she got sick.
Adam: No, no, no -- not good enough.
Pete: The first major shipment for stores arrives at Fusion today. I'll just taint a large batch of it, and it'll do its job like it's supposed to. Yeah, I'm sure of it.
Adam: No, no, no, not yet.
Pete: Why not?
Adam: Because they've already spent their money. Their chips are on the table. But we are still dealing the cards. So we can afford to wait and make sure it works before we take any kind of a gamble. Now you get back to work and notify me immediately of anyone affected by the contaminant. Ok.
[Adam confronts Annie]
Adam: Well, I hope you're planning on getting out of here soon because my generosity can be pushed only so far.
Babe: Leave her the hell alone, Adam.
Greenlee: I heard the body needs it once in a while.
Aidan: Oh, yeah? See, I think all-night sex is just so much better.
Greenlee: I know. I wish we could do it 24/7.
Aidan: I tried to make some progress on that yesterday, but you were nowhere to be found. Where were you all afternoon?
[Greenlee recalls previous events]
Ryan: Just stay away from my daughter, ok? Stay away from her!
Greenlee: Ryan -- Ryan, don't.
Ryan: Ok, Emma?
Annie: You may steal my husband, but I will die before you raise my daughter.
Greenlee: She is ok.
Aidan: Is there something you don't want to tell me?
[Taylor hugs Frankie]
Frankie: Oh. Ok, what's that for?
Taylor: That was to thank you for helping me out so much with my first therapy session. I'm actually going in there for round two right now, but I just want to say thank you so much. You gave me exactly what I needed.
Jake: Morning. What is it that you gave her exactly to help her out?
Babe: She's been through enough without you badgering her. I thought J.R. made it clear. She stays.
Adam: This is still my house. And Ms. Smith & Wesson here has outworn her welcome.
Babe: That gun is yours, no matter who put it there. Now back off.
Annie: Thank you -- again.
Babe: No problem. So, shouldn't you be getting dressed? It's a big week at Fusion.
Annie: Um, no. I -- I can't go there right now. I can't face Kendall, and I certainly can't face Greenlee -- not after what Ryan did last night.
Babe: What? You saw Ryan last night?
Annie: I was going up to bed, and he came over and -- Ryan is going to file for divorce. And he wants sole custody of Emma.
Babe: Oh, my God, Annie. That -- that doesn't sound like Ryan at all.
Annie: Well, he's not doing it for himself. He's doing it for Greenlee.
Greenlee: Yesterday was a crazy day. I was running all over the place, and, um, unfortunately, today's going to be another crazy one. And it will be until this launch is finished. But what about you? What are you doing today?
Aidan: The usual. You know, stopping runaway trains, changing the course of rivers, jumping off of tall buildings.
Greenlee: More boring superhero stuff, huh?
Aidan: Yeah, same old, same old.
Greenlee: Still working on that case you can't talk about?
Aidan: I am, yeah.
Aidan: You understand, right?
Greenlee: Yeah. It just seems that this case seems to be particularly intense. See what I mean? You get all serious when I talk about it.
Aidan: Well, it'll be over soon. I promise.
Greenlee: Ah, I got to get dressed.
Aidan: No, don't get dressed.
Greenlee: No, I'm serious.
Aidan: Greenlee, wait. Hey. Don't make me use my superhero powers on you. Greenlee?
Babe: Look, I cannot get into Ryan's head. I don't know what he's thinking or why he's doing what he's doing, but Greenlee I can safely say is very much in love with Aidan.
Annie: No, but you haven't seen what I've seen, Babe. The way that she looks at Ryan and the way that she -- she looks at Emma. See, she's setting all this up. She is still in love with Ryan, and she is manipulating him into doing all of this -- I know she is.
Babe: Ok, stop. Stop. Divorces and custody battles are nasty, ugly things, but you keep acting and talking like you do and you're going to lose.
Annie: But --
Babe: Not just Ryan, but custody of Emma. I have been there before, ok? You have to stay as strong and together as you possible can. Ok, that means getting up, getting dressed, and going to work and keeping a level head. No matter what you think, you have to keep your mouth shut. I am your friend, Annie. Trust me. No matter what you do or say, it can be used against you.
Annie: You're right. You're right. I may have lost Ryan, but, my God, I will not lose my daughter.
Erica: Ok, something's going on between Adam and Annie about Fusion.
Kendall: Adam and Annie?
Erica: Yeah, I didn't get to hear that much, but just before Ryan swept Emma out of that house, Adam and Annie were huddled together, and I think that I heard Adam say something about stealing Fusion.
Kendall: Of course. Of course. This makes perfect sense. The only person that Annie hates more than me is Greenlee. She would love to see us both get the shaft. But how is Adam going to do that? Annie doesn't have any shares. Has he said anything to you at all?
Erica: Lots. The man can hardly stay away from me these days, but it's very difficult to keep his mind on business when he's around me.
Kendall: Ok, I get that, Mom, I do, but please, I really need your help on this. You've got to find out what Adam has up his sleeve.
Erica: It's not what's up Adam's sleeve that he wants to show me.
Kendall: Ugh, yeah. Ok, um, really, Mom, please, please.
Erica: Ok, you just pay attention to your family and your company, and I'll handle Adam.
Kendall: Thank you.
Kendall: You're the best.
Adam: Erica, what a lovely way to start my day.
Erica: How are you, Adam?
Adam: Fine, fine -- even better now for hearing your voice.
Erica: Well, I was thinking, Adam, um, our last evening together -- it didn't end on exactly a pleasant note.
Adam: Yes, the Lavery drama did put a damper on things, didn't it?
Erica: And you promised that you'd make it up to me.
Adam: Well, I am a man of my word. Any time, Erica.
Erica: All right, then. How about now? Are you available?
Adam: For you, Erica, I am always available.
Taylor: Frankie is a fellow ground-pounder and what he gave me was support, the kind of support that a person like you, Jake Martin, would never understand.
Jake: Well, whatever it is that he's giving you seems to be working, because you seem like a shinier, happier person.
Taylor: Well, that's because I'm anticipating my return to where I belong -- Iraq, with my unit.
Jake: And your shrink is signing off on this?
Taylor: Not yet, but she will. Thank you. See you later.
Frankie: Hang in there.
Jake: What drug did you put her on?
Adam: Good morning.
Adam: Good morning. Come in. Yes, I thought we had some weather moving in. Hmm, but, um, looks like you brought the sunshine all by yourself.
Erica: Well, my goodness, Adam, you should know by now that I could always chase the clouds away.
Erica: Oh, my goodness. Look at this. What a beautiful setup.
Adam: Yes, we have it all to ourselves. Um, Carmen -- I gave Carmen the morning off. J.R., Babe, and Annie are working, and Lucretia took Little Adam grocery shopping. So, it's just you and me.
Erica: Delightful. Thank you.
Adam: You know, it seems to me that possibly you came over here for something more than pastries and pleasantries. Am I right?
Erica: Ha, I could never hide anything from you, could I, Adam?
Adam: You certainly tried.
Erica: Well, actually I just came from seeing Kendall at Fusion.
Adam: Oh, how is she? I understand the new perfume is quite the success.
Erica: To be honest, I'm worried.
Adam: Oh, about --
Erica: About how Kendall and Greenlee are managing things. I mean, this "Bella" fragrance -- it has turned into a massive gamble, and I think a big mistake.
Adam: Even if it is a success?
Erica: Well, that remains to be seen, but, yes, I think that -- I think this change is completely what Fusion is all about. I mean, catering to every woman is just completely counter to the couture image that Fusion has so carefully cultivated.
Adam: Like a five-star restaurant suddenly selling franchises.
Erica: And if they're lucky, the short-run will turn up with some profits, but I think that if someone doesn't step in and correct course, Fusion is headed for disaster.
Adam: I think I know exactly where you're headed.
Erica: Do you?
Adam: You're talking takeover, aren't you?
Babe: Annie, you were imagining it.
Annie: No, I wasn't. Someone was following us.
Babe: You're just going to chill out, ok? Chill out.
Amanda: Want to burn your finger?
Amanda: Go ahead. Touch it. That's how hot it is, baby.
Babe: Did they like it?
Amanda: Like it? They love it. They're dying for it. We struck the mother lode. I may have to buy a bigger yacht.
Babe: Congrats to us.
Amanda: But now is not the time to slack off. We've got to kick it in to high gear. I'm setting up a presentation for us to give to Kendall and Greenlee.
Babe: What are we presenting?
Amanda: A whole "Bella" line. We're talking soap, shampoo, bath bomb, the works.
Babe: I guess it's not a bad idea to start thinking about something like that, especially if sales are as promising as the pre-orders.
Amanda: Not if -- when. We've got to strike while "Bella's" hot.
Pete: Morning. Doughnuts.
Randi: Guys, I've got the lead sales rep from the DiFranco chain. He needs to speak with one of you ASAP.
Babe: I'll take it.
Kendall: Well, nice of you to show up finally. By the way, congrats.
Babe: Babe Carey, how can I help you?
Randi: I'm going to take this over to the printers, and I'll be back in a bit.
Kendall: Ok. Well, I didn't expect to see you here.
Annie: How's Emma?
Kendall: She's good. She went to sleep last night and slept through the night.
Annie: Who's watching her this morning?
Kendall: Rachael. She's with all the kids.
Babe: They love the samples.
Amanda: Another check in the win department.
Babe: They, uh, didn't respond to us right away, because everybody in the office got sick.
Amanda: Oh, bummer.
Babe: You know, I just really had an awful thought.
Amanda: No awful thoughts allowed today.
Babe: What if "Bella" is what's making everybody sick? Like Greenlee got sick on her honeymoon. She took a bottle of "Bella" with her.
Amanda: Bad thoughts, go away. You heard Greenlee. She probably ate something icky, that's all. And the department store sales team probably had an outbreak of the flu.
Babe: Maybe we should hold off on full distribution for a couple of days and have the lab run some tests.
Amanda: No, no, no, no. Listen, Babe, time equals money -- my money, remember? We can't do that. The product's hot. We've got to ship it now, and we have a presentation to get ready for. Come on.
Annie: So, did you all celebrate last night? You, and Ryan, and Greenlee?
Kendall: What the hell are you talking about?
Annie: The divorce, the custody battle. Don't play dumb, Kendall, I know Ryan told you.
Kendall: Ryan didn't tell me anything. What are you talking about?
Annie: Oh, you know what? Ask her. Ryan wants a divorce. And he wants full custody of Emma. He's finally making his move. And, Aidan, once he reclaims your wife here, he'll have it all, now won't he?
Frankie: All right, if Taylor were to come to me as a patient and if I were to prescribe something for her, you know damn well that's confidential, Jake.
Jake: I see what you're doing, yeah.
Frankie: Since when do you play lead detective on this, huh?
Jake: Let me just say it like this, ok? If she's masking her post-traumatic stress behind an anti-anxiety medication or if she's going to mask how she really is to a shrink who's going to put her back in combat, you're putting yourself in jeopardy -- not only yourself, but her and some other soldiers, too. Let's just -- let's not forget that.
Frankie: Listen, I'm going to let that last comment slide, because you don't know squat about her or being in the Army, so just relax, all right? Look, Taylor needs help. She's resisting help because of anxiety. Now there's no anxiety, she's seeing her therapist, and I think it's working out.
Jake: I see what you're doing. Mm-hm.
Frankie: You still haven't answered my question. Why do you care so much?
Jake: Look, she's a friend.
Jake: She's becoming a friend. She's got a lot going on, you know that yourself.
Jake: What's this?
Frankie: I just -- I just want you to admit that you got something going on for her, and you got it bad.
Erica: You were the one who said takeover.
Adam: Isn't that what you were implying?
Erica: Well, I do think that a change of course at Fusion would be prudent, but a full-blown takeover? I mean, would that even be possible?
Adam: Anything is possible.
Erica: Well, how would you even go about that?
Adam: You don't want to go there, Erica. I've been down that road with J.R. over Chandler Enterprises, and we've both come out of a bloody, bloody battle with scars to boot. You don't want to do that to Kendall.
Erica: I wouldn't dream of it.
Adam: Good, because if Babe is going to be my daughter-in-law again, I want her to succeed, and I don't think she would survive very long if you took the reins by force.
Erica: Adam Chandler, you are so full of it. You have hated Babe since the day she stepped foot in your house. And apart from your recent odd bouts of praise for her, all your comments have indicated obviously that you don't support her or her remarrying J.R. I'm sorry. I'm sorry if I was too blunt.
Adam: No, you're not. One of the reasons I love you so much is you're not afraid to speak your mind.
Erica: Too true. So why don't you tell me some of the other reasons you love me.
Adam: Um, how much time do you have?
Erica: I cleared my appointments before I came here.
Adam: Oh, good, that's wonderful. Then why don't -- why don't we, uh, just --
Erica: Yeah? What, what?
[Behind Erica's back, Pete motions for Adam to come out to the terrace]
Adam: Just -- why don't we find some place more -- more comfortable?
Erica: Yeah? Adam, what is it? What's wrong?
Adam: It's nothing. It's --
[Adam sloppily kisses Erica]
Kendall: Knock it off, Annie. Your paranoia's showing.
Greenlee: I'm sorry things have gotten so ugly, but you're wrong. Ryan isn't coming after me.
Aidan: Enough, Annie, all right? Just stop it.
Annie: Oh, take your blinders off, Aidan. Ryan is going to leave you holding nothing, just like he's leaving me. He's going to have Greenlee and Emma, and you're going to wake up one morning not knowing what the hell just hit you.
Babe: Annie, you should stop it. We can go into the lounge, and we can talk.
Kendall: Listen to Babe, Annie.
Greenlee: I know things are tough for you right now.
Annie: Ok, don't pull your sympathetic crap with me. You love this. You made all this happen. You spent all day with Ryan yesterday just egging him on, urging him to do all this. Oh --
Annie: Oh, you didn't know where Greenlee was yesterday, did you, Aidan? Yeah, she was with Ryan the whole time. She was there for everything -- when Emma was taken from us, when Ryan was arrested. Hell, she even bailed him out of jail. Bet you didn't know that one, huh? Did you? No, no. And then she went to Kendall's and rocked my daughter in her arms.
Kendall: How in the hell did you know that? What, were you spying on us?
Annie: Greenlee's playing you, Aidan, just like she played me. How does that feel? Hmm? How does it feel to be made a fool out of by your own wife?
Aidan: You're the one who needs to take the blinders off, Annie. Greenlee told me everything that went down yesterday, and I support her 100%. Ryan's our friend. And you used to be, too. It's a shame you decided to stop. I'll see you at home.
Greenlee: I'll come with you. I have to explain.
Aidan: No, no, no. You stay here. You got a lot of work to do.
Kendall: Get out.
Babe: Kendall, please.
Kendall: Clear out your desk. You're fired.
Babe: Greenlee, you can't let her do this.
Greenlee: I agree. I think it's best if Annie leaves.
Kendall: You know what? Better yet, I'll have security send you your stuff. Now get the hell out before I have you thrown out. Go.
Babe: Annie, Annie, I'm sorry. Do you need a ride home?
Annie: No, I'm ok. I'll be fine, really. Maybe my husband and my job, but I'll be damned before you get my daughter.
Jake: I couldn't be interested in her, not romantically, not sexually. There's just no other way than just a straight-up friend.
Frankie: Yeah, I get that, I get that. Sure.
Jake: Well, you shouldn't do this. This is how ugly rumors get started. You understand? I got a very nice -- nice little thing going on with Amanda.
Frankie: And I don't doubt that, but this thing between you two -- it just doesn't seem like the real thing to me.
Jake: Oh, is that right? Why? Because you're the expert on real things?
Frankie: Yes, I am, actually.
Jake: You are. You -- you -- so, you and Randi -- that would be the real thing?
Frankie: Yes, I believe so.
Jake: Oh. So, you and the real thing -- when are you moving in together?
Frankie: It's funny you should ask.
Erica: Well, you haven't lost your touch or your impetuousness.
Adam: I couldn't help myself.
Erica: For a moment I thought that you were more interested in the view outside than in me.
Adam: That -- that ridiculous gardener was waving at me for some reason. You just wait one second. One minute. I'll go fire him.
Erica: I'll be here.
Adam: What the hell do you mean, signaling me like an incoming aircraft?
Pete: What's, uh, going on between you and Erica Kane?
[Pete makes sizzling noise]
Adam: What do you -- what do you want?
Pete: A major department store client, DiFranco, called Fusion today to report that their whole sales staff got sick.
Adam: Did they make the connection with the perfume?
Pete: No. Babe got a little worried, but Amanda went through with the full distribution.
Adam: Good, good, good, good. That means they had -- they had prior knowledge that the product was defective. That means punitive damages in court. We're going to sink them.
Pete: So, I'm a go for Operation Blast?
Adam: You taint as much of that new shipment as you can.
Amanda: Well, that's it. You have to admit, the response has been pretty terrific.
Kendall: I can't disagree. Great. Ok, well I will see if the manufacturers can do the max output, and then we'll go for it. And we will also allocate funds for a full Bella product line.
Amanda: Yes. Oh, well, I say this calls for major celebration. What?
Babe: I'm still bugged about that call from DiFranco, that's all.
Amanda: Well, stop thinking about it. Do what I'm going to do -- call your honey, tell him to drop everything, and party down -- hard.
Kendall: You ok?
Greenlee: I need to get going, ok?
Kendall: Yep. Greenlee, it's going to be ok.
[Kendall picks up the picture of Annie and Ryan and drops it into the trash can]
Frankie: What do you think?
Randi: This is all yours?
Frankie: Yeah, I just signed the lease and everything. And don't say it's about time I got my own place, either.
Randi: Ok, but I'll just think it.
Frankie: You know, the place came fully furnished. Not really my taste or style, but, you know -- so, do you like it?
Randi: Yeah, I do. But, um --
Frankie: Randi, I know what --
Randi: I can't stay. I've got to --
Frankie: I want you to move in here with me.
Therapist: Taylor, are you all right?
Taylor: Please leave me alone.
Woman: I'll be in my office if you'd like to continue. Or call me later, all right?
[Taylor flashes back to hugging her fiance]
Jake: Amanda? Hello?
Amanda: Be right out.
Jake: It sounded urgent. Is everything all right?
Amanda: This is a national day of celebration, soldier. I have taken command of the Fusion Bella brigade, and I have made it a monumental success. So, you will show me the appropriate appreciation. Do you understand me?
Jake: Uh, congratulations.
Amanda: You say, "Ma'am, yes, ma'am."
Jake: Ma'am, yes, ma'am.
Amanda: That's better. Now, as I was saying -- you eyeballing me, boy?
Amanda: Because if you're eyeballing me, you know what that means?
Jake: I forgot. I don't -- I can't remember what --
Amanda: Push up time. You have to drop down and give me a hundred.
[Both laugh as Amanda pulls Jake on top of her while she lies down on the bed]
Randi: Why are you doing this? Why would you want me to more in with you?
Frankie: Because I love you.
Randi: But we've discussed this already, Frankie. I can't give you what you want in a relationship. I can't even make love to you.
Frankie: That's ok. Look, there's a bedroom over there for you. And this couch -- it folds out into a comfy bed. There's no pressure. Don't you see? I love being with you. I love being around you. And to me, that's more important than sex.
Randi: I don't know.
Frankie: I know it's better than the Pine Cone. I'm offering you a life, Randi. A whole one, with no strings attached. What do you say?
Greenlee: Hi. I understand you're angry. All I can say is that I'm sorry I didn't tell you about being with Ryan yesterday. I know that we promised --
Aidan: Last night when you came home, all you wanted to do was make love. I mean, you really think that if you keep me happy in the bedroom, you don't have to tell me what's going on between you and Ryan.
Greenlee: Nothing's going on between me and Ryan.
Aidan: Don't make a fool of me, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Nothing happened. I took him home. I told him I was in love with you.
Aidan: Oh, and you had to remind him of that, did you? I mean, things must have gotten pretty intense if you had to spell it out to him again.
Greenlee: Please don't do this.
Aidan: All I'm doing, right, is waiting patiently for you to be done with him.
Greenlee: I am. I -- I -- I've told him that. I told you that.
Aidan: And you didn't have to bail him out of jail either. I mean, the guy is worth so much money, all right? He could have asked his lawyer to help him out. And you didn't have to go home with him. I mean, this is -- this is his problem, not yours. And you certainly didn't have to keep it from me.
Greenlee: Wait, please, please, please don't go. I'm sorry. I am so, so sorry. I was stupid. It was a mistake, but I love you. I love only you. Please, please don't go.
Aidan: Damn you, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Please don't be angry with me.
Aidan: I love you way too much to be angry.
Greenlee: I love you, too. I'm sorry.
Aidan: You're coming with me.
Randi: Are you moving in today?
Frankie: Yeah, I took off this afternoon to schlep my stuff in.
Randi: Ok. After work, I'll check out of the Pine Cone, and I'll schlep my stuff over, too.
Frankie: Oh, yes. That's my girl. Oh, I mean my roomie. You're much more than a roomie.
Greenlee: Oh, my God. I had no idea.
Aidan: This is the secret project that I couldn't talk to you about. Come here. Let me show you. Right here is the hallway, and if we go over here, this is going to be the entrance to our new home.
Greenlee: I love it.
Babe: I know, J.R., but I'm still concerned. Yeah, that's what Amanda said. If there's something wrong with "Bella," it could cause really, really huge problems. I don't want to compromise our plan to take things over. Ok. Just whatever happens, we cannot let Adam find out anything about this. All right. I love you, too. Bye.
Kendall: Can't let Adam find out what?
Annie: It's Annie. I need you to help me to hold on to my daughter.
Babe: I was just telling J.R. about our plan to expand the "Bella" line of products. I just wanted to make sure that Adam didn't find out more about it.
Kendall: Oh, don't worry about Adam. If and when he makes a move on Fusion, I'll cut him off at the knees.
Erica: Straighten everything out?
Adam: Oh, yes. Oh, yes.
Erica: Was he spreading too much manure?
Adam: No. No, not exactly, but there a few pests he wanted taken care of.
Erica: I'm glad we've gotten to this place. I think I'm going to get a lot out of this new, uh, friendship of ours.
Adam: I couldn't possibly agree more.
[Adam and Erica kiss]
[Pete proceeds to surreptitiously inject some Blast into Bella bottles]
[While making out with Jake, Amanda looks up and sees Taylor staring at them, unable to take her eyes off the uniform shirt Amanda's wearing bearing the name "Monroe."]
