Frankie: All right, all right, Shooter, would you please stay still, man?
Shooter: Just take the picture, huh?
Frankie: I'm trying but your ugly mother's getting in the way, mon.
Man: Make us shine, pretty boy.
Frankie: I'm going to work this side of the camera. Thank you very much.
Man: Lieutenant, take our picture, huh? Come on.
Shooter: Boys, together again.
Frankie: With the papers to prove it.
Taylor: I wish it was me.
Man: Oh, yeah, right. Do you still snore?
Taylor: You want to get in this picture?
Taylor: Come on, girls, smile pretty.
Frankie: Ok, here we go.
Second Man: Now, there's some action I can get into.
First Man: Ooh, right.
Second Man: Cheers.
Amanda: Ah. You are such a doll to come and pick me up.
Jake: Well, I was just thinking of myself. Maybe we could just finish what we started.
Amanda: Mmm, well, if you're talking about the chocolate volcano dessert, I ate the whole thing by myself.
Jake: No. We're just going to have to find something sweeter, then, something else that explodes.
Jake: What is that? What is that?
Amanda: Oh, my God.
Jake: Pete. Peter, can you hear me? Peter?
Amanda: God. Is -- is he dead?
[Knocking on door]
Opal: Is Petey here? Tell me he's here.
Colby: No, you know, he's not.
Opal: Oh, oh, good Lord. Oh, all I need is more bad luck.
Colby: Has something happened?
Opal: It's the cards. They are never wrong. It was the tower. I -- I had a vision. I just know it's Petey. I just know it.
Colby: Maybe he's at the library.
Opal: No, no something is wrong. Something is very, very wrong. I can feel it in my toes. I just -- I got to find him before he goes up in flames.
Opal: Oh, Petey? Oh, no, Amanda, I -- I can't talk right now -- what? What?
Opal: Oh, no! No, not my Petey. No.
Adam: Hey, you all right?
Erica: I'm fine.
Adam: Yeah, you're shaking.
Erica: Oh, God. Don't leave.
Adam: I'm not going anywhere.
Kendall: Oh, my God. You scared me.
Zach: How's Ryan?
Kendall: He's fine.
Zach: I'm going to bed.
Kendall: Wait. You asked if I was happy.
Zach: And you answered.
Kendall: I'm not happy. And neither are you.
Frankie: Hey. Glad you made it.
Randi: You look --
Frankie: Like a soldier?
Man: Yeah, yeah, yeah!
Taylor: Grow up.
Man: What is a fine woman like you doing with him?
Frankie: Hey, hey, hey, I'm not such a shabby-looking brother, if I don't say myself.
Frankie: Easy, be easy with it, right, right, right. Guys, guys -- this is my girlfriend, Randi. Randi, these are my boys, Bear, Digger, Boots, Shooter.
Shooter: If he took them off, you'd know why they call him that.
Boots: It's not the smell. It's the size. You know what they say.
Taylor: It's time for more beer. And don't be an animal.
Frankie: Still as tough as you were over there, huh?
Taylor: I'm just trying to give your girlfriend some breathing room. You know these guys. They have no manners. Except for you.
Frankie: Even more beautiful. Hey, listen, later on, how about we grab some time alone?
Boots: Dawg, can I beer you? Beer you? Hey, beer, line them up, line them up. Yo, can I beer you?
Randi: No. Water's fine.
Taylor: Uh, make it two.
Boots: Couple of waters for the ladies.
Frankie: L.T., there was a time when you'd drink us under the table.
Taylor: And I will, I will -- when we are all in Iraq together. Hey, come on, I'm trying to get back in shape here.
Shooter: Nothing wrong with your shape, L.T.
Frankie: How about we grab some music and try to drown these guys out?
Bear: Yeah, yeah, good luck, good luck.
Frankie: Hmm, you, uh, you ok?
Randi: Yeah, sure. How did things go with the paperwork?
Frankie: Ah, you mean did somebody try to stamp me with F-4? Nah, I'm too perfect of a specimen.
Randi: You are perfect.
Frankie: What? It's the fatigues, isn't it? It's freaking you out?
Randi: Maybe. A little. A lot. You know, I've been telling myself that you're going to go someday, some vague day. Maybe it wouldn't happen. Maybe you wouldn't. But now this? It's -- it's so real, and I hate it.
Frankie: Hey, hey. That promise I made to come back to you? That's real, too, baby.
Taylor: Hub. Hub, would you get over here? Come on, we got a bet going on here. Come here, come here.
Bear: Come on.
Taylor: Bear is putting in a hundred that you're going to be the first one to go hard guard. Am I throwing something down here?
Frankie: All right, well, first on the watch is first on the line. First outside the wire is outside the base, and I will be right there!
Frankie: Now, I say we spend this money on some more rounds and some nachos.
Taylor: First, first, first -- a toast.
Taylor: To you lucky suckers. Here's to rocking the sandbox.
Frankie: Hoo-ah! Hoo-ah!
Colby: Pete. Pete, you have to wake up. I need you. Please, Pete.
Colby: Oh, thank God.
Adam: Get away from that wimp.
Colby: But, Daddy, I love him.
Adam: No, no, no, no daughter of mine is going to get involved with a Cortlandt.
Colby: I won't listen.
Adam: Well, then you're going to take a little time-out, honey.
Colby: No, I won't go.
Pete: Let her go. Uh!
[Heroic music plays]
Adam: What in blazes is it?
Pete: No, Chandler.
Colby: Pete, help me.
Adam: I'm not afraid of you.
Pete: Don't make me hurt you.
Adam: Ho-ho, don't make me laugh.
Colby: You saved my life. You're my hero.
Colby: Pete. Pete, wake up. Can you hear me?
Adam: It's, uh, it's not as if some bolt is going to strike you and turn you to ashes. It's a natural phenomenon. It's nature's way of giving us a show.
Erica: I, uh, thought I was past it, the fear. I -- I don't know why tonight.
Adam: It happens to all of us. You think you've conquered something and you -- you win and you move on, and you're never going to have to be bothered again. And then? It's back. You find yourself on your knees wondering how the hell you ever got there.
Erica: Those irrational fears.
Adam: Like a thunderstorm.
Erica: Or letting someone in.
[The lights come back on]
Erica: Oh, thank God.
Erica: Are you still hungry? Room service?
Adam: Uh, no, I'm, uh, I'm calling Jackson.
Kendall: Say something.
Zach: It's late.
Kendall: You are unhappy, Zach, and you blame me.
Kendall: Come on, say it.
Zach: I'm unhappy.
Kendall: And it's my fault.
Kendall: What are you going to do? You're going to pick up toys to avoid talking about this?
Zach: What do you want to do, have sex? Worked well the last time, right, solved all our problems.
Kendall: I thought that we were going to work through this and -- and -- and make the time and the effort.
Zach: Are you?
Zach: No more secrets.
Kendall: None. Come on, Zach, please. Please, I would do anything to get us back on track.
Zach: Yeah. If you're not too busy putting other people on whatever track you think they should be on.
Kendall: Ok, for the millionth time, they're my friends. I'm concerned about them. Is there -- is there a problem with that?
Zach: Then what is it? Why are you buried in their lives? Because they're your friends or because there's something missing in your life?
Kendall: How can you say that? You and the boys -- you are the only life that I want.
Zach: Yeah? Every time I turn around, I see you buried in other people's problems, not our problems, not us, not the life you want so much.
Kendall: Well, honestly, I want Greenlee and Ryan to have what we have.
Zach: And what do we have?
Kendall: How did we get here? I mean, you and I love each other so much and we're so --
Zach: So unhappy. We agreed on something, right? We said we'd always be honest with each other.
Kendall: I have been.
Zach: No, you haven't.
Colby: Pete, please, say something.
Pete: Your hero. I'm your hero. Kiss me.
Opal: Peter William Cortlandt. You open your eyes right now! Oh, thank God. Thank God you're all right. Oh, my little baby boy. I knew something happened. I just knew it. But you are alive, and you're going to be ok. Isn't that right, dr. Jake? Isn't he going to be just fine?
Jake: You took a hell of a hit.
Pete: What happened?
Jake: Lightening hit the forklift that you were standing next to.
Pete: Oh, yeah. I -- I was leaning on it.
Jake: You're very lucky you're even breathing.
Colby: You could have died, Pete.
Pete: Does anybody have my glasses?
Amanda: Oh, here. Oh, sorry, they only had pink.
Pete: Thanks for finding me.
Jake: You're very, very lucky.
Opal: Oh, I think I need a chair.
Amanda: Oh, oh.
Jake: You sit down and take it easy, ok? And you're just going to have to take it easy for a couple of days. You'll be fine.
Pete: You kidding? I'm -- I'm ready to roll.
Pete: Oh -- oh -- ooh.
Frankie: Man, you can't even see that damn scar.
Boots: Because I had a crackerJack medic. Took on some shrapnel, your boy here stitched me up. Didn't even break a sweat.
Taylor: And it was hot. It was 102 --
Boots: Cool as they come. Cool as they come. We just hit the T.C.P. --
Frankie: Tactical checkpoint.
Boots: These guys come up on us, and I go down. I'm sliced up all over. Hub grabs the C.L.S. --
Frankie: Combat lifesaver bag.
Boots: Keeps me from bleeding out.
Frankie: All right, look, this is old news, Boots.
Boots: This tat reminds me every day how damn lucky I am because of you.
Frankie: Yeah, hmm, all right, well, I'm sorry I couldn't do anything about your feet.
Frankie: Hey, where are you going?
Randi: I need a refill.
Taylor: You must be bored out of your mind.
Randi: Frankie asked me to come.
Taylor: We've just been through so much together, you know? Through hell and back. I know it's hard for you to relate. I'm sorry.
Randi: I was surprised he asked me.
Taylor: No, he wants you to meet his unit. And it's good that these guys are so tight. They are going to be together 24/7 once they're over there. I cannot wait to join them.
Randi: It's war.
Taylor: Well, not every day can be parties and makeovers, Randi, not that I didn't appreciate that.
Taylor: They are the best guys. They're the best guys. You could not ask for finer men to fight with than those men over there. I will tell you this, they're lousy poker players. I beat them every time.
Randi: Yeah, well, I'm sure it's hard to concentrate on the game when you could get blown up.
Taylor: Well, that's why they're trained.
Randi: So were all the men who've died.
Taylor: They died serving their country.
Randi: Frankie already served.
Taylor: You don't want him to go.
Randi: No, I don't.
Taylor: Do you know why troops get killed, Randi?
Randi: Suicide bombers, roadside bombs --
Taylor: Doubt. Doubt. They lose focus, commitment. They doubt themselves, their ability. They doubt why they're there, because they are focused on worrying about loved ones back home. To survive, they need to give 120% and that is what each and every one of those men, those brave men, has done and will do on this tour.
Randi: I've got an early morning. Tell Frankie I had to go.
Erica: Put that phone down.
Adam: Isn't this what you want?
Erica: Why would I want you to call Jack?
Adam: Because Jack will come all the way over here and see us in time and, uh, decide that he can't live without you. What man could? And then he will dump Carmen like a hot rock and sweep you up in his arms.
Erica: Oh, that champagne has gone to your head.
Adam: I know you.
Erica: I told you, I am done with Jackson.
Adam: And you'd much prefer he would pine alone in some dark place and not a conga line with some sexy female.
Erica: I broke Jack's heart. He's hurting. He needs someone.
Adam: Yeah, well, unfortunately, the someone right now is going to be, uh, Carmen.
Erica: You are making way too much of this.
Adam: Yeah? No, damn it, you -- you have never in your life lost a man to another woman without fighting for it.
Erica: I gave Jack up.
Adam: Don't you think he gave it up a little too willingly? When Carmen walks into the room, it lights up. Jack lights up and that's a whole lot there to light the room up.
Erica: Stop it. Just stop it, will you? I am past Jack. I'm over Jack. I will always care about him, but I am just so ready to move on.
Adam: With me?
Erica: Don't flatter yourself, Adam.
Adam: Erica, you're lying to yourself if you think I'm interested.
Kendall: My -- my love for you and for the boys and our family -- none of that is a lie.
Zach: It's not the whole truth either, is it?
Kendall: What do you want from me?
Zach: I want you to choose.
Kendall: I have chosen, Zach. I choose us.
Zach: But you want more.
Kendall: Why do you keep saying that?
Zach: If we're going to fix something, we have to agree that something else is broken.
Kendall: So, again, it's my fault. I broke us. I'm going to go check on Ian.
Zach: Walking away?
Kendall: You're the one who walks away. You're the one who shuts down and -- and disappears behind that damn silence of yours.
Zach: I'm here, and I'm tired of going to bed angry.
Kendall: So am I. I'm tired of being angry and confused and frustrated. I'm tired of loving you and not knowing how to reach you. Tell me what I do with that, Zach. Tell me, how -- how do we make things the way they used to be?
Zach: Um -- can I ask you something?
Kendall: Yeah, of course. You can ask me anything.
Zach: I know you love me.
Zach: And our life and our family.
Kendall: Yes, of course.
Zach: And you say it's enough, me and the boys.
Zach: So, nothing else matters?
Zach: And there's no one between us?
Kendall: I know what you're thinking. You are wrong.
Zach: I am?
Kendall: You think it's Ryan. You think he's the problem.
Frankie: All right, to 365 and a wake-up, may it come sooner than later.
Taylor: You are not even over there, and you're already counting the days till you get back. Nice attitude.
Frankie: Where's Randi? Restroom?
Taylor: She's gone.
Frankie: What do you mean, gone?
Taylor: She just thought you'd have more fun without her getting in the way, you know.
Frankie: Well, we talked -- what? What?
Boots: Not me. I miss her already.
Frankie: All right, I'll catch you guys later.
Taylor: No, no, seriously, seriously, she wants you to stay. That's why she didn't say goodbye. You'll see her tomorrow.
Frankie: I don't know how many more tomorrows we're going to have in Pine Valley, Taylor. I want to see her tonight.
Taylor: What are you going to do? You're going to leave this fine company? What are you doing?
Boots: I'd leave this great company for Randi.
Frankie: Come on.
Boots: Shots on me.
Taylor: Shots on him.
Bear: Shots on him.
Frankie: Hey, hey, hey, I know what you're doing. The stories, the jokes, the good old times, the band of brothers back again, fighting the good fight.
Taylor: We trust each other with our lives, right? Right? That's what kept us alive the last time. That's what's going to keep you alive this time.
Frankie: And so you figured you'd get a couple of drinks with the guys, play a round of poker that you'll win, and I'll be all gung-ho, ready to rumble. Is that how it works, Taylor?
Taylor: You are a great soldier, but I'm worried about you.
Frankie: I'm going back. I'm serving --
Taylor: You're not 100%. You're head is not there.
Frankie: That's because I have a life, Taylor. I'm going to find Randi.
Taylor: Frankie. Frankie -- she wants to talk you out of going back.
Frankie: So what? What do you want me to do? You want me to dump her?
Erica: Of course, you're interested in me. I'm the one you never really had.
Adam: Two marriages say otherwise.
Erica: Two trips through hell.
Adam: Mm-hmm, you want me.
Adam: Oh, come on. Flowers, candles, décolleté?
Erica: An evening out with a friend?
Adam: You keep using that word.
Erica: You can leave if you don't like it.
Adam: Oh, no, no, no, and waste an unusually intriguing evening? No, no.
Erica: Does that mean you're ready for dessert?
Adam: Only if you're ready to handle it.
Erica: Adam --
Erica: You know I can handle it. But I'm not interested in having a relationship with you or anyone else.
Adam: Oh, Erica, come on. You can't live if you don't have a man on a leash, the choke-chain securely attached.
Erica: I don't need a man to be happy.
Adam: You can't live without one. You need to be chased and worshipped and adored, the more suitors, the better.
Erica: It's not true.
Adam: Oh, come on. You had -- you had Sam Woods and Montgomery going at each other like a couple of pit bulls and you -- you loved every growling second of it.
Erica: Actually, I shed them both.
Adam: Ah. Or did they get tired of playing the game and shed you? Erica, you need every man you've ever loved to never stop loving you. Friend to friend, you are incapable of being alone.
Erica: Oh, Adam. I never could fool you. You're right. No man in my life, in my bed. I'm lonely.
Kendall: Ryan is lonely. He just lost a child. Annie took Emma away from him. We're family, Zach, we share Spike.
Zach: Yes, we do.
Kendall: Ok, so -- so, do you want me to ignore Ryan? Do you think that's -- that'll help us, that'll make things better?
Zach: You spend more time in his life than ours.
Kendall: Ok, but if you had been with me tonight, you would know that I made the right decision. Putting Spike in Ryan's arms was exactly what he needed.
Zach: What is he going to need tomorrow and the day after that?
Zach: Don't do this.
Kendall: No, Zach, he loves her, and she loves him.
Zach: And her husband is --
Kendall: Well, you know, she -- she'll do whatever she can to make her marriage work with Aidan, but she refuses to admit that Ryan's the man she really loves.
Zach: I thought she loved Aidan.
Kendall: She does but not the way she loves Ryan.
Zach: It's her business, not yours.
Kendall: I don't want to hurt anyone. I just want what's best.
Zach: You want what's best? The world according to Kendall whether anybody else likes it or not.
Kendall: I'm done with that, ok? I'm not going to get in the middle of anyone else's life. Greenlee is with Aidan, and she has no place for Ryan, and I accept that.
Zach: Greenlee let Ryan go. Why can't you?
[Adam tries to kiss Erica, but she walks away]
Erica: We, uh, barely ate anything.
Adam: Yes, I don't think I could eat another bite.
Erica: Adam, it's -- it's been a long day. Would you mind?
Adam: No. You can call it an evening, yes -- of course not.
Erica: Thank you, Adam. Thank you for -- for everything.
Adam: Yes, the storm's over. You should sleep well. Um, good night.
Colby: That's pretty intense.
Pete: You like it?
Jake: Don't get attached to it. Little ointment on that thing, and it's going to be gone in a couple of days.
Pete: You sure?
Jake: Yes, that is your biggest wound and it basically is just superficial. What happened to you is called a flash-over. It's where the electrical current passes over your body instead of going through it. Basically, the forklift saved your life -- that and a little C.P.R.
Opal: Well, and you saved his life. Have you thanked Dr. Jake properly?
Jake: That's ok. He doesn't have to.
Pete: Thanks, man.
Jake: You're welcome. You're welcome.
Pete: So, I'm good to go?
Jake: Yes. You'll have a little tingling in your extremities, maybe a headache, but, you know, nothing long-term.
Pete: So, I could play dark lord kingdom 6?
Jake: I don't see why not.
Pete: Good, because I couldn't before.
Colby: You're so lame. You could have died, and you're making stupid video game jokes?
Jake: As soon as he's processed, you can get him out of here, ok?
Opal: Thanks so much.
Jake: Honey, you ready?
Amanda: Yes. Stay out of electrical storms.
Pete: Haven't you heard? Lightning never strikes twice. It's so great to see you.
Opal: The minute you are out of here, it is straight back to your room, young man.
Opal: The room you were sent to, the room you sneaked out of, so you could get struck by lightning and almost kill your mama?
Pete: You heard Jake. Everything's fine.
Opal: Until your father's plane lands and he finds out about this. Oh, oh, light of my life, if anything had happened to you --
Pete: Don't hurt yourself, Mom.
Opal: What were you doing out and about anyway? Grounded means grounded, young man.
Pete: I had things to do.
Opal: At this hour?
Pete: Mom, some space. I want to talk to Colby.
Opal: There'll be plenty of time for that --
Pete: No, now. I want to talk to Colby alone. Alone.
Frankie: So, let's say I do dump the girl. Does that make me a better soldier, Taylor? Does that make me more patriotic? I don't have a life to lose. So what? I fight harder? Is that what's going on?
Taylor: That is not what I meant.
Boots: L.T., Hub, take it down.
Frankie: I know what you meant.
Taylor: I'm not trying to break you guys up if that's what you're worried about.
Frankie: You watched her walk out of here. Did you say something to her?
Taylor: You know I don't like it when outsiders tell us what we should be doing over there.
Frankie: I am crazy about this woman, and I will come back to her in one piece alive.
Taylor: Ok. Then you better get focused.
Frankie: Focused. Like you, focused. Having no life like you. See what you made me do? I'm -- I'm sorry, L.T.
Taylor: Don't, don't.
Frankie: You don't want that in my head? The hope of having someone to come back to?
Taylor: Don't go there, don't.
Frankie: It was one year ago today.
Taylor: Shut up!
Kendall: I let Ryan go years ago when he married Greenlee. We're friends and parents. So, of course, we're connected. And I know you're not jealous.
Zach: I'm not. I'm just trying to figure out what you need that you can't get here.
Kendall: Zach, you are all I need -- you. I am with you, because I want to be with you, no one else.
[Knock on door]
Kendall: Ignore it. No --
Erica: Zach, I'm sorry. I know it's late. Kendall, I need to talk to you.
Kendall: I'm sorry, Mom. It's not really a good time.
Zach: It's a perfect time. I'll be upstairs.
Kendall: No -- Zach?
Taylor: You shut up. I said don't go there.
Boots: Come on, kids. Let's play nice. Eat up. We don't know when we're going to see fine cuisine like this again.
Digger: Someone's been eating real good since the last time I saw him.
Bear: That's muscle, kid. Don't make me remind you.
Frankie: You know what, guys? I'm out of here, man.
Boots: It's still early, Hub.
Frankie: Going to find Randi.
Taylor: Frankie, you shouldn't drive.
Frankie: Man, watch out.
Opal: But you need to rest.
Pete: After I talk to Colby alone.
Opal: Well, I guess I could use a cup of something. But I'll be back.
Colby: Freaky, huh? Lightning -- it must have hurt.
Pete: It was worth it.
Colby: You could have been fried. You -- you smell kind of like -- like burnt marshmallow.
Pete: Do you remember my fifth-grade science project?
Colby: Uh, no.
Pete: It was about keraunopathy, the lightning pathology.
Colby: Um --
Pete: I took first place.
Colby: Maybe Jake should check you again.
Pete: Did you know that 70% of lightning survivors experience residual effects most commonly affecting the brain?
Colby: Your brain was affected.
Pete: Did you know that there are 92 different after-effects of being struck by lightning including personality change?
Colby: Might not be so bad.
Pete: All the people I interviewed said that lightning changed them forever. I feel like that -- changed, different.
Colby: Like, in a good way?
Pete: You don't notice anything different about me? Ow. Look at me. Look at my eyes.
Pete: W -- well?
Colby: I should go.
Pete: No, wait. You saw it. Uh -- ow.
Colby: Are you ok?
Pete: Too fast. Tell me you saw it.
Colby: Ok, fine. You -- you seem more, I don't know, confident.
[Pete snaps his fingers]
Colby: See you.
Jake: Excuse me.
Amanda: I didn't think I'd ever get you alone. What do you say? A quiet booth, dark, in the corner?
Jake: That sounds good to me.
Jake: Well, look who it is.
Amanda: Hey, 4-to-1 odds. Maybe she'll get lucky.
Jake: That's very mean.
[Artillery and gunfire sounds in Taylor's head, then a woman screams]
Boots: L.T., you ok? You need something? Hey!
Jake: Just a second.
Amanda: Jake --
[Taylor screams and kicks boxes around]
Jake: Taylor? Taylor, what happened?
Taylor: You leave me alone.
Jake: Listen to me. Whatever it is -- whatever it is, it's going to be ok.
Taylor: No, it won't be ok. It won't be ok. Don't you understand? It won't be ok until I get back there. This is why I have to go back there because it's the only way I can be close to him. It's the only way I can be with him.
Officer: I'm afraid I'll need you to step outside the car, sir.
Adam: Where is my daughter?
Pete: Colby left.
Adam: Yeah, she called me. She told me what happened. Who in the hell gets struck by lightning?
Pete: One in a mil. That's me. Jake says I'm lucky.
Adam: Yeah. Did you by any chance do what we sent you there -- that you agreed to do?
Pete: I said I'd do it. I did.
Adam: You dosed the Bella shipment.
Pete: That was the plan.
Adam: Do I detect an attitude?
Pete: You detect competence.
Pete: It's taken care of.
Adam: It damn well better be.
Pete: Trust me.
Opal: Oh. Well, look what the storm washed in.
Adam: Well, at least, I wasn't fool enough to grab a lightning bolt.
Opal: Yeah, well, you'll wish you were struck by lightning when I get through with you.
Adam: It's been a long night.
Opal: I know exactly what you were up to, and you are not going to get away with it.
Jake: Taylor. Taylor.
Amanda: What's the big emergency?
Jake: Are you here?
Amanda: What, did her old platoon mates beat her at a spitting contest or something?
Jake: Now, come on. That's not funny.
Amanda: What -- I just want to know what the problem is. I -- maybe I can help. You ran after her without saying a word.
Jake: I -- she's just going through something at the moment.
Jake: Well, I -- it's something very personal to her, you know?
Amanda: But she confided in you?
Jake: Well, she wasn't looking for a shoulder to cry on or something if that's what you mean. It's -- it was the opposite, actually.
Amanda: Well, you are irresistible.
Jake: Thank you. Look, I'm -- I'm sorry for running out on -- on our date. She just looked she -- she just looked like she needed somebody to help her.
Amanda: Well, that is what doctors do. If I'm going to date one, I guess I'm going to have to get used to it.
Amanda: But, in case of future nonmedical emergencies, I do have two shoulders, too. They're not as strong as yours, but they'll do in a pinch.
Jake: You've got two of them -- two of them. They're very lovely shoulders, and I bet they can support a lot.
Amanda: Mmm. Hmm -- maybe we should move this to the bedroom.
Jake: And what happens in the bedroom.
Amanda: Hmm, you're going to --
[Amanda shrieks, giggles]
Jake: To the bedroom.
Opal: If you even dare to think about messing with my best friend's heart, I will extract yours and chew it up and spit it out.
Adam: And that's all?
Opal: I'll be right back. You come with me.
Adam: This is -- let go of me. Let go of me. Ok.
Opal: What are you thinking chasing after Erica?
Adam: Erica's the one doing the chasing.
Opal: She went screaming from you just like all your other wives. Do you -- I don't think that she would be in any way interested in resuscitated romance.
Adam: You think --
Opal: Sure as shooting I think.
Adam: Yeah. Then she must want something.
Opal: What could she possibly want from you?
Adam: Well, there's always my charm, my good looks, um --
Opal: You just steer clear, mister.
Adam: Hmm. So, will the cards bode ill if I don't?
Opal: I'll bode ill with my own two hands.
Erica: Adam is impossible.
Kendall: But you promised to help protect Fusion.
Erica: He insulted me. He baited me. He was relentless and so arrogant. I mean, the man is so damn full of himself.
Kendall: And you liked it?
Erica: No! Are you listening to me? I wanted to slap him. No. I mean, Kendall, look. You're going to have to find somebody else to help you find out what Adam is up to, because I cannot tolerate another evening alone with that man.
Kendall: Mom, it couldn't have been that bad.
Erica: Look. Adam told me that I cannot stand to be alone, that I must have men in love with me. Even when it's over, I hold on. Can you imagine? Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous in your life?
