Erica: I'm not joking, Opal. He was there.

Opal: You saw my Petey at Adam's mansion?

Erica: That's the second time I've seen him in Adam's fold.

Opal: Oh, no. Your peepers must be playing tricks on you. I mean, I know he's got a little crush on Colby and everything, but my son getting cozy in the enemy camp?

Erica: A young man in love will do just about anything.

Opal: Love? Who said anything about love?

Erica: Look, Opal, your son Petey is spending a lot of time under Adam Chandler's roof. He's doing it for some reason, and if it isn't love, you better watch out.

Adam: But you can get the job done?

Pete: As an insider at Fusion, contaminating Bella will be a snap.

Adam: Yeah, what if these dingbats gave you a job because they were suspicious? They wanted to keep an eye on you?

Pete: We've been careful to the nth power, but it is possible.

Adam: No, no, we can't risk it. You -- you move tonight. There's a storm coming. It'll give you some cover.

Pete: I also swiped the alarm code. Not bad for my first day, huh?

Adam: I wish my son were as useful as you.

J.R.: Be my wife. It's too soon. I -- you're right, you're right. You know what? I just -- I got caught up in the moment, and, you know, I just got excited about us being a family again and -- and leading the Chandlers back down where we should be, and -- and here I am. I'm -- I'm not even dressed, and I'm springing this on you.

Babe: Yes. Yes, J.R., I will marry you.

Aidan: Greenlee. It's your husband here. I have a surprise for you, so wherever you are, you need to hurry home.

Ryan: Why does this keep happening? I'm lost, you find me, and the pain, it just -- you make it go away.

Greenlee: Ryan.

Ryan: You, Greenlee. Only you.

Zach: Are you happy in this marriage?

Kendall: What kind of a question is that?

Zach: One I should have asked a lot sooner, I think.

Kendall: Before you went to Greenlee behind my back?

Zach: The truth. Is this enough for you? Yes or no?

Opal: Oh, don't you worry. Palmer and me are going to pull the plug on Petey's crush pronto. Mm, well, don't you mean business tonight, girlfriend.

Erica: Just dinner.

Opal: Oh, I know that look. You are locked and loaded. Now, please tell me that you've changed your mind, and it's Jackson that doesn't stand a chance.

Erica: Actually, I'm seeing Adam tonight.

Opal: Adam?

Erica: Yeah, he's single. I'm single.

Opal: Have you lost your memory and your mind? I mean, how long has this been going on?

Erica: Well, there's nothing going on, Opal. It's just dinner. That's all.

Opal: Oh, yeah? Here. Cancel. Dial down to Hades and save El Diablo a trip.

Erica: Don't be ridiculous.

Opal: I don't -- I don't understand. What could you be thinking? I mean, are you really that desperate that --

Erica: I'm not desperate at all. I don't need a man. I just enjoy their company.

Opal: What in the name of all things holy could possibly be enjoyable about Adam Chandler?

Erica: Well, we -- we do this thing, this verbal sparring. You know, back and forth, one-upping each other. Of course, I always win, but it's fun. I mean, it's something like debating a great opponent or hunting for big game.

Opal: Yeah, except in this case, the beast you're shooting at is shooting back.

[Knock on door]

Opal: Oh, no. Hold it right there.

Ryan: I, um, I drank a little bit too much. I shouldn't be talking to you. I shouldn't even probably be here.

[Greenlee tries to walk away from Ryan, but he follows her]

Kendall: I love you. I love our boys. I love our home.

Zach: That's -- that's not what I was asking you.

Kendall: Where is this even coming from?

Zach: It's coming from me. I want to know why we're stuck.

Kendall: You think I'm miserable, and I'm -- I'm hiding it. Do you have any idea how insulting that is? That you would doubt my feelings?

Zach: When's the last time you were happy with just me?

Kendall: Always. Every day.

Zach: Really? Just you and me alone, you content not talking about anything or anyone else. When was the last time?

Kendall: I just told you. Oh.

Zach: Huh.

Kendall: What? What -- how -- how did this get turned around on me?

Zach: Just looking for some answers, that's all.

Kendall: Oh, Greenlee didn't give you any?

Zach: Kendall, come on. That's not --

Kendall: Well, what, what? I mean, you -- you crucify me for getting our lives tangled up in everyone else's, but then you go and do the same thing, and -- and it's fine? How does that work?

Zach: It's two friends talking.

Kendall: Oh, ok. So you can go to whoever the hell you want and talk about our marriage, but then I try to help our friends and support them, and I get slammed for it.

Zach: I don't want to fight with you.

Kendall: No? Then why don't you take your questions and your accusations and go have this fight with Greenlee?

Ryan: I was -- I was going to leave, but, um, where do I go? I mean, where do I belong? I know, I know that it's with my kids, but I had a baby on the way, you know, and all this craziness, and this mess, at least I could hold to that, and now? I just have this, like, this void I have. I have this, like, emptiness inside of me, and it really hurts. And that's -- that's hard for me to say. You know, it's hard for me to say out loud, but I know -- I know that you would understand because you know me better than anybody, Greenlee. You do. You know me better than anybody, and you know how I feel about you.

Greenlee: Don't.

Ryan: I have tried, Greenlee. I have tried to stuff it. I've tried to deny it. I've tried to ignore it. I just -- I can't. I am in love with you. I -- I -- I've asked myself -- I've asked myself what makes sense, ok? I have. I've asked myself, "what do I want?" I've asked myself, "who -- who do I want?" I've asked myself all of it. And it's -- it's you, Greenlee. It's always, always been you. That's what's missing inside of me. That's the real pain, loving somebody.

Greenlee: Stop. You have to stop.

Babe: We're planning a wedding. I can't believe it.

J.R.: I say we have it here in the garden.

Babe: Again?

J.R.: Well, why not?

Babe: Number four is the charm?

J.R.: No. This is the last time, because this time is forever.

Kendall: Do you want there to be a problem in our marriage?

Zach: I want to know what's going on with my wife.

Kendall: There's no secret, Zach, but you keep pushing and -- and pushing me, coming at me from every different angle. It's like you -- you'd be relieved if I said there was something wrong.

Zach: Is there?

Kendall: Yeah. I mean, you lecture me over and over how we have to turn to each other, but then you can spread our business all over town.

Zach: Well, it's just us now.

Kendall: It doesn't matter. You -- you -- you went behind my back. You did it without me.

Zach: I try. I can't reach you anymore.

Kendall: Well, that's because you're too busy punishing me, trying to get me to behave. I'm sorry, but I will never be a perfect little Stepford wife.

Zach: That's not what I want.

Kendall: See, I know what this is. I went to Ryan for help with josh, so you went to Greenlee to teach me a lesson.

Zach: Greenlee came to me. She's worried about you, and so am I.

Kendall: Zach. I am happy in our marriage. Ok? Now, if you don't believe me, there's nothing I can do about that.

Zach: You're happy. There's no problem, right?

Kendall: Yes, I just told you. I'm happy, ok? I'm happy. You know what? In fact, I'm so happy right now, I'm going to go out and celebrate, alone. Very alone.

[Door closes]

Greenlee: We agreed. No more of this.

Ryan: I know.

Greenlee: The past. It's in the past.

Ryan: Yeah, that would make it so much easier.

Greenlee: And you can't say these things to me. You can't look at me like this. Seeing you suffering, I can't take it.

Ryan: Greenlee, I didn't mean to hurt you.

Greenlee: But you have, and you are, and it has to stop. I won't let it happen again.

Ryan: Let what, what happen again?

Greenlee: I loved you with everything I had, and when you went over that cliff, you shattered it. You did that. When you took off, you broke my heart.

Ryan: I will never forgive myself for that, Greenlee, never.

Greenlee: Do you know how I went on living after that? Your baby. If I could hold on to a piece of the man I love, then maybe it didn't matter that I couldn't put the pieces of myself back together again, but I couldn't. I lost the baby, and then when you casually walk back into my life and tell me that I grieved over you for nothing, you broke my heart all over again.

Ryan: I wish to God I never left, Greenlee --

Greenlee: It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter. I love Aidan. You might be drunk, but I know you didn't forget that.

Ryan: No, I didn't.

Greenlee: Then don't do this. Don't turn to me for comfort. I can't be that person for you anymore, Ryan. It's not fair to you or my husband, but, most of all, it's not fair to me. I'm happy, and no one will ever break my heart again.

Adam: You look ravishing.

Erica: Well, I didn't have much time. I just threw this together.

Adam: Ah, yes. Well, I'm delighted you could be with me this evening.

Erica: Oh, well, I always have time for charity work.

[Adam chuckles]

Adam: Well, that's a -- that's a beautiful bracelet you're wearing.

Erica: Oh, thank you. It was a gift from Jackson.

Adam: Oh, it's almost as nice as the jewelry he got from my maid.

Erica: Didn't Krystal pawn all the jewelry you gave her to buy a bar?

Opal: Yeah, shouldn't you be keeping an eye on her instead of doing whatever it is you're doing here?

Erica: No, Opal, please.

Adam: Your son is the one that needs to be supervised. I do feel sorry for the boy, being raised by a fossil and a fruitcake.

Opal: Is this your idea of fun?

Erica: Opal, thank you so much for coming by.

Opal: I am not leaving you alone with that snake.

Adam: You heard the lady. Scram.

Erica: Adam, there's no need to be rude.

Adam: Oh, well, I -- I do apologize. I just -- with the nearness of you gets me all worked up.

Erica: Well, then, come a little closer. Maybe you'll pass out, and then I can go really enjoy my evening.

Adam: You are a pistol.

Erica: Bang, bang.

Opal: Oh, Lord have mercy. The apocalypse has arrived.

Tad: You better be a damn good tipper. Do you have any idea what I had to go through to get some of this stuff? It's ridiculous.

Aidan: That's why I asked a detective.

Tad: I'm not a detective anymore, and just so we know, you know, I -- I didn't do this out of the goodness of my heart, right?

Aidan: You remember the deal, right? You get the food. I do you a favor.

Tad: I remember the deal.

Aidan: So what is it?

Tad: I want you to steal something for me.

Aidan: Steal something for you? Like what? One of those expensive Italian scooters or a remote-control car? What are we talking about?

Tad: I want you to steal the phone records for the chief of police.

Aidan: Nice. You're joking, right?

Tad: Do I look like I'm joking? Something's up. Something's up with Jesse. Something bad, ok? He's -- he's distracted. He's irritated. More importantly, he keeps getting these phone calls, these hang-ups, all over the place, all hours of the day or night on his cell phone, at home.

Aidan: He told you this?

Tad: No. Angie told me this.

Aidan: No idea who it is?

Tad: No. I mean, she thought it had something to do with Papel. I checked, and, thank God, it's got nothing to do with Uncle Robert.

Aidan: Well, what does Jesse say?

Tad: He doesn't say anything, but I did see him try to tear Angie's head off in front of me for answering his cell phone, and then he tried to write it off like it was just another in a long line of, you know, hang-ups.

Aidan: Well, you think he knew who it was?

Tad: I don't know what I think, but whatever it is, it's strange. I mean, for instance, before Angie even walked in, we were having a beer at the bar there in Fusion, right? So all of a sudden, he looks over my shoulder. It's like he sees something. He jumps up like a jack rabbit to go check it out.

Aidan: And?

Tad: And then he comes back, giving me this, like, B.S. story, you know? I just -- I tell you, there was something about it. It was just wrong. It's like he'd seen a ghost, and -- and then, right, he says that when he was outside, he got a phone call from the station house, saying he had to do something, some cop business. He practically sprinted out of the place. There's only one problem. He couldn't have gotten a phone call when he was outside, because the entire time, I had his phone with me in his jacket at the table.

Aidan: Maybe the guy's got two cell phones, you know? They -- people do.

Aidan: That's good. That's terrific. That's a big help. You finished? I'm not kidding. Something is wrong. I get a bad feeling about this. I mean, Jesse even went off on me when I did some -- some -- well, I did question him a little bit, you know, on Angie's behalf. He nearly took my head off. He told me to keep my damn beak out of his business.

Aidan: Well, has there been any incidents that, you know -- has Angie caught him in places where he shouldn't be?

Tad: What do you mean? Like a strip club?

Aidan: I don't know, anywhere.

Tad: Yeah, she caught us playing whiffle ball in the house once. That didn't go too well. Why? What's your point?

Aidan: Tad, I'm serious. I mean, is it possible that he's -- he's doing something in secret? You know, like hiding something from -- from everyone.

Tad: I really don't like the question you're about to ask me.

Aidan: You think he's having an affair?

Ryan: Forget everything I just said.

Greenlee: Come on. Don't be like that.

Ryan: No, no, no, no, no. No, we're cool. We're totally -- we're totally cool. It's perfect, honestly. We're, um, we're both moving on.

Greenlee: You're going to just walk away?

Ryan: No, I'm not. I'm going to take a cab.

Greenlee: Not funny.

Ryan: That's too bad, because I love to see you smile.

Pete: Dad. What are you doing here?

Palmer: Where have you been?

Pete: Check it out. I got an internship at one of the hottest companies out there. I'm positioned at the nexus of Sales, Marketing, and R&D. I'm going to soak up so much at Fusion.

Palmer: Since when have you been so interested in cosmetics?

Pete: It's not the products, Dad. It's the opportunity to get real-world business experience. When I get to Harvard, I'll smoke the competition.

Palmer: Perfume? Makeup?

Pete: Dad, you -- you got Fusion the building they work in.

Palmer: Uh-huh, but, you see, that's real estate.

Pete: The other perk? I'm the lone stallion among a herd of beautiful mares.

Palmer: Uh-huh.

Opal: Petey Cortlandt!

Palmer: Oh, my God.

[Door shuts]

Palmer: Run for the hills. She's home.

Opal: Petey? Oh. Oh, hello. Do you know where your son has been sneaking off to?

Palmer: Peter -- Peter has a job.

Opal: Yeah, Peter has been hanging at the Chandler Mansion. If what I hear is correct, he seems to have developed quite an obsession for Adam's daughter. You come back here. Have you been at Adam's, or have you not?

Pete: Yes. Listen, I like Colby a lot. I can't help it.

Palmer: You are grounded until further notice.

Pete: What did I do?

Palmer: Well, you were consorting with the enemy and -- car keys.

Palmer: Thank you.

Pete: This is so unfair.

Opal: Well, I hope that was the right move.

Palmer: He's got to learn sometime.

Opal: Yeah, but as you and I both know altogether too well, when two people are destined for each other, forcing them apart is just about the quickest way to push them closer together.

Tad: Jesse Hubbard is the best man I've ever known in my entire life, ok? He's a family man. End of story.

Aidan: Things happen, all right? Things you don't want to believe.

Tad: Damn right they happen. Like he just spent 20 years making his way back from the dead to the love of his life. Why would he do anything stupid to risk that? That's the wrong tree, mate. I'm telling you. Wrong question.

Aidan: You said yourself he's getting hang-up calls, all right? He's running out to meet some -- some mystery person, and he's keeping it from Angie, and he's keeping it from his best friend.

Tad: You don't even know. What I said is he's under some kind of pressure, and I want to figure out what that is, ok? I did not say my friend is out there screwing around. Not on Angie. Listen, I -- for all I know, it's got -- probably got something to do with work. I mean, he might be telling the truth. He's the chief of police. It's a high-pressure job. Or, more likely, it's got to do with Frankie. He's got to send his only son back to Iraq for God's sake. How easy can that be?

Aidan: Look, something happens once, even twice, it's a fluke. Something keeps on happening --

Tad: There is nothing that you can say or ask me that is going to convince me that my best friend is out there breaking his vows, ok?

Aidan: Well, it sure as hell looks that way, doesn't it? Tad, come on, man. Women cheat on men. Men cheat on women.

Tad: I know. I've been there. So have you. And if you want to know the truth, so has Jesse, but that was a long time ago. A long time ago, ages ago. I saw firsthand what he had to go through to get back to his wife, to protect her, to get back to his family. There is nothing he is going to do to risk that, ok? Nothing.

Aidan: We've both been in the P.R. business a long time, and we both agree with this, right? Sometimes it's the people we least suspect.

Greenlee: I really don't want to talk about this.

Kendall: I just -- I want to understand why you would tell Zach I'm unhappy. It's not true, and it's embarrassing.

Greenlee: It never happened, ok? Believe me, the last place I want to be is in the middle of someone else's marriage. Have you seen Ryan recently?

Kendall: I ran into him today at Cambias.

Greenlee: What did you talk about?

Kendall: Well, he was all stressed out.

Greenlee: Hmm. Did my name happen to come up?

Kendall: I could tell he wasn't just stressed about work.

Greenlee: So you tried to help him.

Kendall: Ryan is in pain, ok? He's in pain, and -- and he has no one to turn to, so he's holding it all in.

Greenlee: Surprise. He turned to me, just like you wanted.

Kendall: Like I wanted?

Greenlee: Yeah, you found him, you wound him up, and you sent him straight to me.

Kendall: No, that's not true. I went to see Zach. I happened to bump into Ryan.

Greenlee: And you happened to give him another shove right in my direction, and he happened to be right downstairs from my office.

Kendall: No, I -- all I said to him was that it wasn't healthy for him to keep his feelings bottled up inside.

Greenlee: Right, right, and he should dump them all over on me. To hell with my feelings and Aidan's. I'm married, Kendall. Do you get that? Blissfully married. I thought you were, too.

Kendall: I am.

Greenlee: If you're so damn happy, then why aren't you with your husband right now?

Babe: Maybe Little A can be ring bearer again?

J.R.: For the ring. Oh, my gosh, I've got to get the perfect one. I'll tell you what. I'll -- I'll hop on the jet. I'll fly around the world until I find it.

Babe: No, I -- I do not want you jetting around the world to find me a diamond. I don't want you out of my sight.

J.R.: Oh, really? How you going to watch me and launch Bella all at the same time?

Babe: Maybe I can tie you up in the Fusion lounge and take really long lunch breaks.

J.R.: Yeah. No, we've got to be serious about this.

Babe: Oh, that's right.

J.R.: Eye on the prize.

Babe: Right.

J.R.: Stay focused.

Babe: Mm-hmm.

J.R.: Because we can win it all.

Erica: Oh, sparkling cider for me.

Adam: Oh, yes, of course. A bottle of sparkling cider right away. Uh, how are the scallops?

Erica: Out of season.

Adam: Oh. What about soft-shelled crab?

Erica: No, summer's over. You don't want those.

Adam: Um, would you give us a minute? Taken up fishing, have you? And now that they've threatened to cancel your show?

Erica: Look, Adam. I don't blame you for forgetting about haute cuisine, not when your last wife's idea of fine dining was squeezing cheese from a can.

Adam: You are a woman of impeccable taste, as is your daughter Kendall. How is she, by the way?

Erica: Well, she's fine, thank you. Why do you ask?

Adam: Oh, because you came by and asked me about, um, Slater. You wanted me to deal with him. Is this about your son?

Erica: Oh, that's been taken care of. Oh, I may have the oysters.

Adam: Good, we can share them. They are an aphrodisiac.

Erica: In that case, I'll have salad.

[Adam laughs]

Erica: Well, how are your children, Adam? Are J.R. and Babe -- thank you. They, uh, look happy.

Adam: Yeah.

Erica: Babe's doing very well at Fusion.

Adam: Yes, oh, yes, oh, yes. Yes, the perfume she invented is -- it seems to be a -- a hit.

Erica: Well, since she has no brain of her own, she must be picking yours.

Adam: Well, yes, yes. If she were really smart, she'd have come to you. Who has more savvy than Erica Kane?

Erica: It's very important to stay way ahead of the competition.

Adam: Yes, well, none of them are -- do it with such style and grace. You have -- you are beautiful. You're intelligent and tough.

Erica: And you're laying it on just a little bit thick, aren't you, Adam?

Adam: Well, it's, you know, if you give someone a compliment, it's polite for them to return it.

Erica: Nice tie.

Adam: Oh. Ah, I just love -- I love summer storms. It's invigorating. The more violent, the better. The rain pours, the wind howls, and the lightning crashes.

[Erica gasps at a loud clap of thunder]

J.R.: Bella is your ticket to the top. You score one for Fusion, the industry has to respect you. Kendall and Greenlee aren't going to have a choice but to move you up and then the next stop, you're going to have to --

Babe: Shh, keep your voice down, J.R.

J.R.: What?

Babe: Someone will hear you.

J.R.: We're going to rule the world.

J.R.: It's ok. It's all right. Well, the power's still on at Uncle Stuart's. It must be a fuse. I'm going to go downstairs and check the box. You ok?

Babe: Yeah, I'm ok.

J.R.: Ok. Be right back.

[Babe screams]

Annie: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to scare you.

Babe: No, no. I'm just a big baby. I'm afraid of the dark now.

Annie: Well, luckily, Emma and Little A are sleeping through this, so --

Babe: J.R. went downstairs to check the fuse box.

Annie: Oh, great.

Babe: You know, um, the fear, it's -- it's still not gone, even though Richie is. And sometimes, I feel like I can -- I can still see him, you know, in a crowd or -- or in a bus passing by. I -- I know that sounds crazy.

Annie: No, no, no, no, no. Tell me.

Babe: I know that Richie -- I know that he's gone for good, but, sometimes, I feel like he's still out there, and -- and he wants to hurt me. And he wants to hurt J.R. He wants to hurt all of us.

Annie: Uh-huh.

Babe: Sometimes I -- I hear his voice when I'm half asleep, well, half awake. And it's -- it's really, really soft, but -- but it has this edge to it. Well, he's -- he's taunting me, and he's making sure that I don't forget, because -- because he's not finished with me yet. You know?

Annie: Babe, my brother was a master at manipulating people. He could get inside someone's head and make them do whatever he wanted. He did it to me my whole life. He pulled me into some really, really, really dark places, places I never thought I'd go.

Kendall: Why aren't you with your husband? Why did you show up and -- and be there for Ryan at the hospital?

Greenlee: I was being a friend.

Kendall: Oh, so all of a sudden, you're not friends anymore?

Greenlee: Thanks to you, Ryan spilled his guts to me. Every emotion, every feeling.

Kendall: Good.

Greenlee: No, it's bad, and it can't happen ever again. I told him, and I'm telling you now.

Kendall: Greenlee, Greenlee, you're stopping the inevitable. What are you going to do? You're -- you're just going to turn off your sympathy?

Greenlee: I hate that he's hurting, but I can't help him, and I can't fix him.

Kendall: You can, but you won't. You -- you keep -- you keep denying it and resisting it, but deep down, you know I'm not pushing you towards Ryan. You're being pulled towards him because you belong together.

Greenlee: I love Aidan.

Kendall: It's not the same, and you know it.

Greenlee: I know what I want, and, no matter how hard you push, that won't change.

Kendall: Ryan needs you.

Greenlee: I'm not his life preserver.

Kendall: Well, he was that for you.

Greenlee: Well, until he destroyed me.

Kendall: You can't choose Aidan out -- out of fear, and no one will be happy.

Greenlee: That's not what I'm doing.

Kendall: You just don't want to be hurt again.

Greenlee: Hurt? I didn't want to exist anymore, Kendall. You were there. Ryan took everything. Then Aidan came along and gave it all back, and I will protect that with everything I have.

Kendall: But Ryan --

Greenlee: Listen to you. Every other word out of your mouth is "Ryan." You're putting his marriage ahead of your own.

Kendall: My marriage is fine, but Ryan's whole world just fell apart, and he needs something or someone to give him hope.

Greenlee: If you value this friendship, you won't ask me again. You want to help Ryan? Do it yourself.

Kendall: Fine.

Erica: Ugh.

Adam: You know, we -- we can go inside, if you're frightened.

Erica: Oh, of a little rain? Don't be silly.

Adam: If you had married me when I asked you to, we could be sitting inside near a roaring fire on a night like this. I could keep you cozy and safe.

Erica: I don't need a man to hold my hand during a storm.

Adam: Of course not. You know, we --

Erica: I just love, um, salmon. There's this little restaurant in Cap Ferrat, and they serve salmon.

Erica: Ahem.

Adam: Erica, you know the odds of being struck by lightning are nil.

Erica: Oh, yeah, I know.

Adam: So, well, what makes you so jittery?

Erica: I'm not jittery.

Adam: Not the least little bit? Hmm.

[Erica whimpers]

Annie: Richie's dead. We don't have to be afraid anymore.

Babe: You're right. He's -- he's gone for good.

[Babe gasps as someone appears at the terrace door]

Adam: Erica, are you all right?

Erica: I am afraid of thunderstorms. I have been ever since I was a little girl.

Adam: It's a totally irrational fear. I know, because I have a few of them, myself.

J.R.: Whew. It's crazy out there.

Babe: You scared us half to death.

J.R.: Oh, I'm sorry.

[Babe sighs]

J.R.: I think a transformer blew. I think it's going to be hours before it's going to be back up. Did you tell her?

Annie: Tell me what?

J.R.: Babe and I are getting married.

Babe: You're the first person we've told.

Annie: Oh, congratulations. I am so happy for you guys.

J.R.: Ah, yeah, that's exactly what we need, nothing but happiness. My wife. My wife. I mean, how did I get so lucky?

Babe: I'm lucky, too.

J.R.: I waited so long for this. For you.

Annie: Ahem.

Babe: Oh.

[Babe chuckles]

Babe: Sorry.

[Annie chuckles]

Babe: Maybe -- maybe we should go to bed.

J.R.: You lead the way.

Babe: Good night.

Annie: Good night, guys.

J.R.: Night.

Greenlee: [Out of breath] Whew. The power's out in the building. I had to take the stairs. What is all this?

Aidan: This is, um, this is the surprise I told you about. Did you get my message?

Greenlee: No, I was -- never mind. I'm here now.

Aidan: With you?

Greenlee: With you.

Aidan: And a gourmet meal. I got your favorite, just like our first date.

Greenlee: Aw.

Aidan: Hot dogs, champagne and stout. I didn't mix them, because I know how you like to do that. You happy?

Greenlee: Yes. I don't deserve it, and I don't deserve you.

Aidan: Hey, of course, you do. You deserve it. You deserve everything. And I want to give it to you.

Kendall: Want to see Daddy?

Zach: Where you going?

Kendall: Spike is staying the night at Ryan's.

Zach: How come?

Kendall: Greenlee rejected Ryan, Annie took Emma, and he lost the baby. He shouldn't be alone.

Spike: I want Da-Da.

Kendall: Yeah, I know, honey. You've seen the space that Ryan's in. I'm going to bring Spike there tonight, and I'll pick him up in the morning. Can't you see that Ryan needs this?

Zach: It's your need I don't understand.

Spike: Mama, Mama.

Kendall: We're going, we're going, we're going. Listen for Ian. The storm might wake him. Come on. Let's go see Daddy.

Spike: Da-Da.

[Door slams]

[Ian cries]

Erica: You were afraid of what?

Adam: Oh, I suppose it's, um, afraid of letting anyone in. It would be so -- too painful. I don't want to be alone.

Zach: It's all right, boy. Your mom's going to be home soon.

Richie's voice: There is an air of desperation about you, sis. The only reason you've gotten this far is because of me. Nobody wants to help you out, and you're still playing the victim. [Echoing] You're just like me. You're just like me. You're just like me. You're just like me. You're just like me. [Reverberating] You're just like, you're just like, you're just like, you're just like...

Annie: Go away, Richie! Go back to hell!

[Thunder rumbling]

Opal: Petey! Petey? [Thunder] Petey?

Opal: Petey!
