Erica: Samuel, wait.

Samuel: Erica, go back to dinner with your family.

Erica: But we were supposed to be on a date.

Samuel: Does that feel like a date to you?

Erica: Are you upset?

Samuel: No.

Erica: Then what?

Samuel: [Sighing] I wanted a nice, quiet meal. I wanted to just get to know you. Instead we ended up with the sort of all my family three-ring circus.

Erica: I'm sorry, I'm so sorry about the cameras.

Samuel: No, no, no, that's cool, I get that. That comes with the territory.

Erica: Actually, I thought you would be used to it. I mean, with your campaign and all the photographers are always around you. Oh, are you nervous about our relationship, how it will affect your campaign?

Samuel: No, it's not about campaigns or photographers. You know what? Hold on a second.

Erica: Where are you going?

Samuel: I'm going to be right back.

J.R.: Hey, I didn't expect to see you here.

Babe: Well, tomorrow's the big vote, right? You could be the new C.E.O. of Chandler Enterprises in less than 24 hours.

J.R.: That's the plan.

Babe: Well, I wanted to wish you luck and bring you this.

J.R.: Oh, Babe, you didn't have to do this.

Babe: I'm really proud of you, J.R., and I just, I just wanted you to know that we're behind you all the way.

J.R.: Thank you.

Babe: So, how do you feel?

J.R.: I feel like everything's about to change.

Adam: That's right, J.R. doesn't know a thing. I'll contact you when it's over. Krystal, uh, Babe's not here if that's who you're looking for.

Krystal: I'm not.

Adam: Well, then, perchance are you here to see me?

Krystal: I'm worried about Colby, Adam. Have you talked to her?

Adam: Have I talked to my daughter? Yes, of course.

Krystal: Well, then, you know how bad it is. Adam, Colby is sinking fast, and I want to know what you're going to do about it.

Colby: What are you doing here? Did you follow me?

Pete: I was in the neighborhood. I thought I'd see what you guys were doing.

Colby: Nothing, so will you go now?

Dré: Colby, it's fine.

Colby: Are you serious?

Dré: Look, Cortlandt knows everything already. What's the difference?

Pete: I'm sensing a stressful vibe in here.

Colby: I don't know why when everybody and their mother knows who killed Richie Novak.

Officer: New information on the Novak case.

Jesse: Thanks, O'Neill.

Jesse: Oh, damn it.

Angie: Bad timing?

Jesse: Hey.

Angie: I can come back if you're too busy.

Jesse: No, never too busy for you, babe.

Angie: So, are we ready to talk about this now?

Jesse: Yeah, you're going to hate what I have to say.

Samuel: One second, please.

Erica: Samuel, what's going on?

Samuel: Well, it's a little impromptu press conference.

Woman: Ok, we're ready.

Samuel: My dad always told me as a kid that the truth would set you free. The catch is first you're going to be upset.

[Laughter]

Samuel: Now, conventional wisdom has it that you don't tell the voters the truth. They don't want to hear it. For example, climate change. We know there's going to be more storms, more tornadoes, more hurricanes until we clean up our act and stop polluting Mother Nature. And politicians, the truth is, most of us are human, pretty much like you. So, what's the real deal between Samuel Woods and, and the lovely Erica Kane?

[Laughter]

Samuel: Well, as you know, we have been through a lot and I have come to admire her as a fellow soldier fighting for prison reform and respect her as a lady that I would like to date. That's right, I like her and I like her a lot and I suspect maybe she likes me a little bit, too. Now, the truth is my campaign manager, who is a lovely guy, says I shouldn't tell the truth. That I could lose votes. Maybe that's true because I don't have a crystal ball. I don't know what would happen between us tomorrow. But I do know this. If we want fundamental change in this country, we have got to be ready to hear and tell the truth about ourselves and the issues we face. So, I've decided from day one to be honest with you, and I hope that you decide wisely who gets your vote. Thank you.

Angie: I won't hate what you have to say. After my talk with Cass I just, I don't know, I didn't know what to do. I'm sorry I took it out on you.

Jesse: No, no, no, I was no better after my dealing with Frankie.

Angie: I bet.

Jesse: You talked to that boy? Man, he's got a stubborn streak a mile wide.

Angie: Ah, I wonder where he gets that from.

Jesse: Yeah, I wonder where he gets it from, too. This whole Randi situation.

Angie: It's a mess, I know. If I wasn't so concerned about Cass.

Jesse: You know, as much as I hate to admit it, our boy is grown. Frankie's grown -- Franklin is an adult. I think he's going to be ok.

Angie: Oh, God, I wish I could say the same for his sister. Jesse, you should have seen her. It was like I was talking to a stranger. It's never been like that with us. All I wanted was for her to open up. You know, and she wouldn't, couldn't.

Jesse: Did she lie to you?

Angie: She withheld. I know that.

Jesse: How could you tell?

Angie: I could see it in her eyes. And the worst part --

Jesse: What?

Angie: Jesse, when she spoke to me telling half-truths and Lord knows what else, she never even bothered to look away.

Cassandra: It was awful. I've never kept a secret from my mom like that. I mean, little stuff, yeah, but something like this?

Dré: That's rough. I'm sorry, Cass.

Colby: Do you think she knew you were hiding something?

Cassandra: She didn't know what to think. And I don't blame her.

Pete: I can't believe your stepdad put a tail on you. That's off-the-hook.

Dré: Yeah, what does your mom think about that part?

Cassandra: She said Jesse was trying to protect me, and he thinks that we know something about what happened to Richie and are too scared to come forward.

Pete: Translation, your parents think you offed the guy.

Colby: God, Pete, shut up.

Cassandra: No, he's right. I mean, my mom danced around it, but that's exactly what they're thinking. I know it. Especially Jesse.

Dré: So, your dad knows. Your parents think they know. Who's next?

Colby: Krystal.

Dré: You told her?

Colby: My dad did. Krystal's cool, though. She promised to keep it a secret.

Dré: Well, isn't she good friends with your mom and Jesse?

Colby: She thought things would turn out ok if we told Jesse the truth, but I told her we couldn't.

Dré: I should have told my dad. Do you know how bad this will be if he hears it from someone else?

Cassandra: Yeah, maybe he won't hear it at all, ok?

Colby: Why does it feel like this is getting worse and worse? Don't touch me.

Dré: Too many people know.

Cassandra: If one wrong person finds out...

Colby: What are we going to do, you guys? This whole thing's out of control.

Adam: I have everything under control.

Krystal: Really? Well, it sure didn't seem that way when I talked to Colby.

Adam: Well, she's a teenager, Krystal. They tend toward the dramatic.

Krystal: Dramatic? Adam, Colby and her friends killed someone, and now they're trying to keep it a secret. I don't think she's equipped to handle something that big.

Adam: I'm not worried.

Krystal: Well, you should be.

Adam: No, no, Colby is not going to go down for Richie Novak's death. No, I've made sure of that.

Krystal: Adam, don't you get it? This isn't about keeping Colby safe.

Adam: Of course, it is.

Krystal: No, it's about keeping her sane. Keeping her from destroying herself.

Adam: What are you talking about?

Krystal: Adam, Colby is in a bad way.

Adam: She's fine.

Krystal: I just found her alone, guzzling rum. Does that sound like she's fine to you?

J.R.: This is really happening, Babe. I've talked to the board members, and they're all behind me on this.

Babe: So, everybody thinks that Adam needs to go?

J.R.: Yeah, and I'm the guy who's right for the job. I have so many ideas, Babe. I don't even know where to begin. You know, for the first time in my life, I really feel like I deserve this. That I've earned it.

Babe: You really care about this company, don't you?

J.R.: Yeah, and it's not about the power this time.

Babe: Not even a little bit?

J.R.: Ok, yeah, maybe a little bit. Before, you know, I felt like it was supposed to be mine. It had my name on the company. Felt like it needed to be delivered to me on a silver platter, but now?

Babe: Now you understand that you have to work for it.

J.R.: Yeah, and I have worked for it. I mean, my dad was in Oak Haven, eating paper, seeing ghosts. I kept this company afloat. I did that. Even Slater's given me credit.

Babe: Zach Slater?

J.R.: Is there any other? I mean, I'm ready for this, Babe. It's really happening.

Babe: And I'm behind you.

J.R.: But you feel like I'm sucking you back in again?

Babe: You better not be.

J.R.: Well, if you have any doubts, I want you to hit me with them right now.

Babe: You're taking a really big leap.

J.R.: Yes, I am.

Babe: And I want to take it with you, J.R., but please, please, you have to be sure. Because once you do this, there is no going back.

Samuel: I want to thank you all for coming. I appreciate it.

[Thank yous all around]

Erica: That was very impressive, Mr. Woods. So, I see you don't have a problem with the media.

Samuel: No, no, no, everything in its right place. Goodnight, Erica.

Erica: Goodnight?

Samuel: Yeah, I meant what I said. We'll do this another time.

Erica: Would now be too soon? I want that date with you, Samuel, tonight.

Samuel: Erica, you got a whole table full of people in there waiting for you.

Erica: Well, you know what? Let them wait. Carmen can keep them entertained for hours.

Samuel: Are you sure?

Erica: I'm positive. You just got finished telling this great state of ours that you'd like to date me, Mr. Woods. So, where are we going, U.S. Attorney, Samuel Woods?

Samuel: Well, that's easy. We're going to go to a place where there's no photographers, no ex-cell mates, no daughters, and no big, jealous-looking ex-husbands.

Erica: Lead the way.

Samuel: Come on. Goodnight.

Erica: Goodnight.

J.R.: Look it's -- it's ok. It's not like I haven't had second thoughts.

Babe: Really?

J.R.: Yeah, well, my father built this company. You know, I'm going to take care of him. I'm going to give him all the money he needs for the rest of his life. He can go anywhere. He can do anything.

Babe: You're not leaving him with nothing?

J.R.: I'm just not giving him what he wants. I mean, this company is like his personal monument and any way you look at it I'm taking that away.

Babe: Yeah, but for the good of the company. For Little A, for Colby.

J.R.: For us. But if you ask me if I'm sure, if I'm 100% positive that I'm doing the right thing, it's hard to say. Because I know, without a doubt, I'm stabbing my father in the back. What, what? You think I sound like him, don't you?

Babe: No, no, I don't think you sound anything like him.

J.R.: Yeah, well, I'm taking my father's company right out from under him. That has Adam Chandler written all over it.

Babe: No, no, if you were anything like your father, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. You wouldn't care about how Adam felt. You wouldn't be thinking about him at all.

J.R.: Do you really believe that?

Babe: Yeah, I really do. You're a different man than you used to be, J.R. You're a better man.

J.R.: Because of you.

Babe: I don't want to take credit for any of this. You're making a really difficult choice, but for all the right reasons.

J.R.: You didn't think I had it in me, did you?

Babe: I do now.

[Babe and J.R. kiss]

Adam: Colby, my daughter, was drinking?

Krystal: Alone. I saw her outside the Yacht Club just staring out at the water.

Adam: This was a one-time event.

Krystal: Adam, I got the feeling that this isn't the first time Colby had her very own not-so-happy happy hour. She's in a bad way, Adam, and it's going to get worse if you ignore it.

Adam: All right, all right. I'll send her off to Europe, or send her to school, get her away from all this drama.

Krystal: Away from the people who care about her. Adam, come on now. She needs to be around people who love and support her. She doesn't need a one-way ticket to another continent.

Adam: I'm not, I'm not trying to get rid of her. I'm trying to protect her.

Krystal: I know, I know that. And I know that your first instinct is just to fix everything and make it all go away, but you cannot do that now, Adam.

Adam: And you know this how? Why can't I do that?

Krystal: Because Colby is scared, Adam, and she is confused. And a snap of the fingers is not going to make that go away. It's not going to change it. Please, please, Adam, just, just do the right thing. I know you have it in you. Be the man that I fell in love with once upon a time.

Adam: Oh, and this coming from the woman who single-handedly destroyed our family? Yes, and now you're giving me advice on how to raise my daughter. I told you, I have it completely under control.

Krystal: While Colby spins out of control. Don't you see what this secret is doing to her?

Adam: What would you have me do?

Krystal: Talk to her, Adam. Convince Colby to tell the truth.

Dré: Maybe we should give this up.

Cassandra: And do what?

Dré: Tell the truth.

Colby: What? No, we can't. Think about your dad, Dré.

Dré: I am thinking about him. If this comes out any other way --

Colby: It won't.

Cassandra: How can you say that, Colby? I mean, so many people know already.

Colby: Just, there has to be another choice, ok?

Pete: I've got an idea.

Colby: That's great, but nobody asked.

Pete: Road trip.

Dré: Yeah, that was your big plan last week.

Cassandra: Yeah, and it was terrible.

Pete: Come on, guys, it's still summer break. We should take advantage.

Colby: There's no we, ok? I mean, seriously, what are you doing here?

Pete: I --

Colby: You have nothing to do with this. You weren't even with us that night.

Pete: But I know what happened.

Colby: Because you stuck your nose -- sorry, you're weird blood-testing kit into our business.

Dré: Colby, chill.

Colby: No, it's true. We didn't ask you to get involved. You know why? Because nobody here likes you, right?

Cassandra: Well, I don't not like him. I just, I don't think about him.

Colby: And what about you?

Pete: I thought we were cool.

Dré: I wouldn't go that far.

Colby: They may be too nice to admit it, but I'm not. We want nothing to do with you, Pete. So, why are you here again?

Pete: I'm here because... because --

Cassandra: Oh, my God, Colby, he's here because he's into you, ok? And deny it all you want, but you secretly love it.

Samuel: Not a reporter or an ex-cell mate in sight, just us. It is just us.

Erica: Well, it's been a long time.

Samuel: Since?

Erica: Since my last date.

Samuel: Mm.

Erica: Five months, to be exact.

Samuel: You think five months is long, you try, uh, seven years.

Erica: Oh, no, I'm sure you're exaggerating.

Samuel: Uh-uh.

Erica: Oh, you mean since -- since 9/11 and your wife?

Samuel: Yeah, I didn't think about it until earlier, but, to tell you the truth, I was a little nervous.

Erica: About your announcement to the press?

Samuel: About my date with you.

Erica: Oh.

Samuel: I stood outside your door with my flowers in my hand like I was taking you to the prom or something.

Erica: Well, as long as we're being honest, then you should know I was nervous, too.

Samuel: Really?

Erica: Yes, well, we haven't spent much time alone together, apart from that lockdown in solitary, and you never know what to expect on the first date.

Samuel: Yeah, well, does anyone know what to expect on a first date?

Erica: First date. Strange to refer to it as that when it's us, who have been through so much, don't you think?

Waitress: Hi.

Samuel: Hi.

Waitress: What can I bring for you?

Erica: Oh, no, I'm not sure yet. Why don't you order first?

Samuel: Ok, I'm going to knock it out with a veggie burger.

Waitress: Ok.

Erica: Um, ok, I'll just have an order of fries.

Waitress: Just fries?

Erica: Yes, for now, yes.

Samuel: We're taking it slow.

Adam: This is hilarious. You want Colby to turn herself in, so we can wave bye-bye to her on her way to prison.

Krystal: That is not what I want, Adam, but I am afraid that is exactly what's going to happen, because eventually those cops are going to be closing in.

Adam: Oh, you don't know that.

Krystal: I do know that, Adam. And the longer this goes on, the worse it's going to get for everybody, including you. Helping those kids cover up? That is aiding and abetting, or worse. But if we talk to Jesse --

Adam: All right, all right. All this sage advice you're dispensing, I assume it wouldn't apply if Babe were part of this situation.

Krystal: You know what? After all of the mistakes I've made, you're damn right. Today it would apply to Babe.

Adam: You would turn her in, your own daughter?

Krystal: Adam, for the record, Colby is just as much a part of me as Babe or Jenny. I don't want to see her hurt any more than you do.

Adam: Well, you've got a strange way to show it, lady.

Krystal: Haven't we learned from our mistakes, Adam? Lying doesn't do anybody any good.

Adam: Except when you get away with it.

Krystal: Ok. All right. Let's say you're right. Let's say this stays a secret forever. You know that's just going to fester. And Colby is going to continue to struggle with what happened.

Adam: She'll get over it in time.

Krystal: She wants to confess, Adam. I know she does.

Adam: No, that would be a huge mistake.

Krystal: Not as big a mistake as letting Colby slip away, Adam. Don't you see what you are doing to her?

Adam: Oh, of course, I see. I do see. I get the point now.

Krystal: What?

Adam: Everything that's wrong with Colby is my fault. I'm driving her to drink, just like I've done all my other children.

J.R.: Once I take over Chandler, everything's going to be different. For the company, for us, for our kids.

Babe: Kids, plural?

J.R.: Yeah, well, I mean, at least I hope. I'm not done building a life for us. Hell, I haven't even started.

Babe: Oh, really? So, what's next?

J.R.: Well, I'd have to clear it with you first.

Babe: Obviously.

J.R.: Mm-hmm. Well, I was thinking somewhere along the lines of a wedding. Destination to be determined, but my vote's for San Diego.

Babe: Maybe on the pier where we first met?

J.R.: I can't think of a better spot. Can you?

Babe: Are you sure this isn't just some... we really can do this, can't we?

J.R.: Yeah. That's what's this vote's about.

Babe: A new life.

J.R.: Starting right now.

Colby: I can't believe you said that about Pete liking me, and me liking that he likes me.

Cassandra: Colby, it makes total sense after what happened with Frankie.

Colby: What? Nothing happened with Frankie.

Cassandra: Exactly. You liked my brother, and he basically wanted nothing to do with you.

Colby: Thanks.

Cassandra: No, I'm just saying it's been a little while since you've a guy in your life.

Colby: Meaning what, I'm going to grab the first loser I see?

Pete: What am I doing wrong?

Dré: For real?

Pete: No, for fake.

Dré: Dude, Cortlandt, you don't have any game, man.

Pete: I -- I have some game. Don't I?

Dré: Look, let me put it this way. I can't even tell you what you're doing is wrong, because you're not giving me anything to work with.

Cassandra: Mm! My God, this is some really strong water you're drinking. What are you doing?

Colby: Don't even start, ok? I got drunk one time. I'm not an alcoholic.

Cassandra: What do you call that?

Colby: Stress management. Besides, we've got way bigger things to worry about, like your stepdad hauling our butts into jail.

Jesse: Did you question Cassandra directly about the night that Richie was killed?

Angie: I tried. But as soon as I told her about the tail --

Jesse: She freaked out.

Angie: I tried to explain that it was a mistake, but she wouldn't let it go. She accused me of not trusting her, instead --

Jesse: Trusting me. The big, bad stepfather, right?

Angie: She was upset.

Jesse: No, I get it. I understand.

Angie: Jesse, it's not that she doesn't like you.

Jesse: No, baby, I understand, really. You don't have to explain this to me.

Angie: I think she's using you as an excuse.

Jesse: Because her back's up against the wall?

Angie: Because in that moment, it was easier to blame you than to tell me what was really going on.

Jesse: And what do you think that is?

Angie: Honestly, I don't know. Cass said that they didn't see anything the night Richie was run down.

Jesse: You didn't believe her, right?

Angie: I don't know what to believe. I've never seen her like this, Jesse.

Jesse: Baby, I am so sorry. I wish there was something I could do to make this easier for you.

Angie: Can you make it go away? I just -- I keep going back to the same thing.

Jesse: What same thing?

Angie: The only reason Cass would lie, I mean, not tell me everything, is if she was scared.

Jesse: Well, I think she has reason to be scared.

Angie: What? What, why? What is that?

Jesse: Um, I had my guys check out all the gas stations within a 30-mile radius of where Richie Novak was found.

Angie: Check how?

Jesse: Well, first we checked credit card payments, drew a blank. So we moved on to security cameras.

Jesse: This was taken at a gas station 5 miles from the accident site.

Angie: Cass and Dré. When was this taken?

Jesse: It was taken the night Richie Novak was hit.

Colby: We need to figure out what we're going to do if we get brought in for questioning.

Pete: Hello? That's the whole point of my road trip idea. Get the hell out of here before they get the chance.

Dré: Pete, we did this. It's going to look suspicious, the three of us just disappearing.

Pete: But it'll be the four of us.

Colby: Get over it. It's not going to work. We need to come up with something else.

Pete: Where's your bathroom?

Dré: We're screwed, aren't we?

Colby: Not necessarily.

Cassandra: What does that mean?

Colby: I think I have a plan.

Erica: Ok, I'll make a deal with you. The next time we go on a date --

Samuel: Oh, next time.

Erica: You can invite a few women.

Samuel: Mm-hmm.

Erica: And your campaign manager, who considers me to be a wild card, and your son Dré. Invite them all. Ask them all to join us, and that way you can get back at me for tonight.

Samuel: All right, well, the women I can do without. The campaign manager, I could definitely do without. But Dré? Yeah, I'd like that. I just -- I don't know that we're there yet.

Erica: You mean he doesn't approve of your dating?

Samuel: He doesn't entirely approve of me, I guess.

Erica: Well, do you spend any time with him?

Samuel: Yeah, all right. It's getting better lately. But then with the schedule of the campaign, I start to feel, I don't know, maybe I shouldn't be running for office at all.

Erica: Oh, but it's important for you to have your own life, Samuel.

Samuel: What if it's at the expense of the relationship with my kid?

Erica: No, you just figure out how to do both, that's all.

Samuel: You see, you make it sound easy.

Erica: Ah, well, I didn't mean to make it sound like that, because I know from experience it's not.

Samuel: I guess I'm glad that we're to the point where not everything I say is absolutely irrelevant anymore.

Erica: Ah, well, that's a huge milestone.

Samuel: Yeah. I want to get to know my kid better, but he's tough to read.

Erica: I think you just need to talk to him some more.

Samuel: I do, and most of the time I end up blabbing about my own experience. I've got to remember we're not the same guy. And I start talking and he's listening, and I've got to stop doing that.

Erica: Well, not necessarily. I mean, maybe your son is just trying to learn more about you.

Samuel: The last time we talked, I felt like he was going to open up to me, and I got distracted by campaign stuff, and by the time I dialed back in, he... he completely shut down.

Dré: You're insane, Colby. That'll never work.

Cassandra: I don't know.

Colby: You guys, think about it. This could be our only way out.

Krystal: Did you know that Colby was blackout drunk the night of the accident?

Adam: She said there was alcohol involved, yes.

Krystal: And that doesn't worry you?

Adam: Children experiment, Krystal.

Krystal: Children, yeah, sure. Chandlers?

Adam: Yeah, ok, so you do think it's my fault.

Krystal: I am not saying that you actually put the bottle in their hand, Adam. But look at your kids. J.R., Skye, Hayley.

Adam: I know their names.

Krystal: Then you know as well as I do that the Chandlers drink to cope. It's what you all do to numb your feelings until you just can't feel a damn thing anymore.

Adam: Says the queen of moonshine. Colby just gets drunk. You go out and get married.

Krystal: This isn't about me, Adam. Don't let her end up like the others, ok? Help her, help her before it's too late.

Colby: You with me?

Dré: I don't know.

Cassandra: What if it blows up in our faces?

Colby: It won't. Yes, it's risky. It's out there, but, honestly, what choice do we have? Come on, guys, it's a good plan.

Pete: Did I miss something? What's the plan?

All but Pete: Don't worry about it.

Krystal: Colby is bossing everyone around, telling them what to think, and she is terrified that she's going to turn out to be just like you.

Adam: Oh, my God, what a tragedy that would be.

Krystal: It wouldn't be a tragedy if she got all the good stuff, Adam. And isn't that what we want for our children, to have all the good stuff, all the good parts of us and leave all the rest behind? Help her do that.

Adam: You lost the right to voice an opinion on this when you ran off with Tad Martin and got married. No. You're no longer a Chandler.

Krystal: I am not speaking as a ex-family member, Adam, I am speaking as somebody who loves Colby very much and doesn't want to see her make the same mistakes her brother did. And I am speaking, God help me, as somebody who still cares about you.

Adam: Thanks for the status report.

Krystal: Ignoring this is not going to make it go away.

Adam: Colby turning herself in won't, either. But I have to prepare myself for a board meeting.

Krystal: Oh. Oh, ok, Adam, great. I'm sure that takes precedence over your daughter.

Adam: This meeting involves my entire family's future. Yes, that trumps everything.

Babe: So, are you ready for tomorrow?

J.R.: I better be.

Babe: And this Statton guy, he's definitely in?

J.R.: I've got him right in my pocket. Look at you, remembering the names of our board members.

Babe: Well, I heard you talking to him on the phone, and, you know, it was pretty hard to forget.

J.R.: Yeah? Why is that?

Babe: Because you, J.R. Chandler, are very sexy when you talk business.

J.R.: Really? So words like merger and acquisition --

Babe: Talk is talk, but I like to see you in action.

J.R.: Yeah, well, it sounds like we have some serious role-play in our future.

Babe: Oh, really, and what character will I be playing in the fantasy?

J.R.: Honestly, I don't think I could have any other woman stand right here.

Babe: I believe in you.

J.R.: I believe in you, too, Babe. I know that sounds cliché, but when you're right by my side, it feels like everything changes.

Babe: Why do I feel like I'm about to send you off to battle or something?

J.R.: Well, because you are. One majorly one-sided battle. So, are you going to send me off the right way?

[Babe gives J.R. a little peck]

Babe: How's that?

J.R.: Well, I'm taking down Adam Chandler. I think I need something that packs a little more of a punch.

Babe: Oh, ok.

[Babe gives J.R. a serious kiss]

J.R.: Yeah. That'll do it.

Samuel: Now, you and your daughter Kendall, you guys really get along, don't you?

Erica: Oh, I don't know what I would do without her.

Samuel: Yeah, I can tell. It's like you're friends, like you say whatever's on your mind at any given moment.

Erica: Well, that's not always such a good thing.

Samuel: No, it made me think about what I don't have with my son Dré. I mean, with us we're kind of... we're on eggshells some of the time. I would love to be as effortless as you two are.

Erica: Kendall and I, we weren't always so effortless, Samuel. Not by a long shot. I mean, you wouldn't believe what it's taken to get to this point. The anger that we both felt.

Samuel: Mm, so there's hope.

Erica: Oh, tons. You said that the last time you were with your son Dré, that you felt he wanted to share something with you. Finish that conversation. It may take a while, but I'm sure that you and your son are going to be just fine.

Pete: Since no one's going to fill me in, I guess I'll go.

Colby: Bummer. There's the door. I need to go to the bathroom.

Dré: You ok?

Cassandra: I don't even know anymore. Everything is so messed up.

Dré: I know. I wish you had nothing to do with any of this.

Cassandra: Right, so you could take it all on yourself? No, I told you. Don't you know that you're the only thing that helps me deal in this? I mean, if we have to go through this, at least we can do it together, right?

Cassandra: Look, maybe Colby's right. Maybe everything will be ok.

Angie: So, Cassandra lied to us when she said it would just be girls at Adam's lodge.

Jesse: Maybe not. Maybe not. Maybe Dré surprised her.

Angie: Oh, come on, Jesse. We saw her afterwards. We asked her about it. Now, if she would lie about that, who knows what else she's been keeping from us?

Jesse: I do know one thing. This car was parked out front of the gas station while Cassandra and Dré were inside.

Angie: Don't tell me this.

Jesse: Yeah. Colby's car, the one she got for her birthday, the one Adam said was stolen.

Angie: Before anyone could drive it.

Jesse: The night of the hit-and-run, they were all in Colby's car, the car that had the same tires that ran over Richie Novak, that car that conveniently vanished into thin air. These people.

Angie: This is really, really bad, Jesse. What does this mean? What's going to happen to my little girl?

Erica: Thank you for dinner, Samuel. That was just lovely.

Samuel: Really?

Erica: Yes.

Samuel: Ok, well, next time we're going to go somewhere more your speed.

Erica: Next time?

Samuel: Yeah, I'm following your lead, Miss Kane. In fact, "first date" implies that there's subsequent dates that follow.

Erica: I hope so.

Samuel: Ok, then.

Erica: And as for my speed, this slow and steady thing you've got going? I think I could get used to that.

Colby: What's the deal, guys? Are you in?

Cassandra: Ok, can we just take a second and just talk --

Colby: We don't have time. Jesse's already started asking questions.

Cassandra: No, I know, but --

Colby: Cass, he had you followed.

Dré: She's got a point.

Colby: We need to have a plan and stick to it, no matter what. Are you in?

Cassandra: Yeah.

Cassandra and Dré: We're in.

Angie: They're just kids, Jesse.

Jesse: Yeah, baby, but a crime has been committed. There is -- a man is dead.

Angie: So, what are we going to do?

Jesse: We've got to get the truth out of Cassandra.

Angie: And then what? What are you saying to me? Are you going to put my baby girl in jail?
