Samuel: Thank you.
Erica: Well. You're still here. And on this side of the bars. I thought you'd be long gone, kissing babies somewhere.
Samuel: No, I -- I wanted you to know how incredibly sorry Warden Hitchcock now is about getting us locked in together.
Erica: Well, will you please tell Warden Hitchcock for me that, uh, Inmate Number 11548-054 has had enough of her apologies.
Samuel: You all right?
Erica: Well, being locked up in solitary isn't quite as bad when it's not quite as solitary.
Samuel: No, I meant -- I meant with, you know, did I overstep when I --
Erica: Kissed me?
Carmen: Hello? My, God. So this is how the other half kicks it. Hello? Mr. Chandler?
Carmen: Might as well get started. Chandler residence.
Tad: Uh, this is Tad Martin. I'm trying to track down my wife Krystal.
Carmen: One moment, please.
[Carmen walks in on Krystal and Adam kissing]
Carmen: Knock, knock.
Adam: What in blazes are you doing here?
Carmen: There's a call. I think it's your husband.
Babe: Somebody, help me, please! Let me out!
Kendall: Are you ready for this?
Greenlee: On three.
Kendall and Greenlee: One, two --
[A large piece of wood shatters the cabin's window]
Richie: What the hell was that? Ah, you!
[Greenlee hits Richie's face with pepper spray]
Greenlee: Uh, oh, oh!
Kendall: Get --
Kendall: Get off!
Kendall: Thank you.
Greenlee: Good to see you.
Babe: Good to see you, too.
Krystal: Please, tell me you're calling because they found Babe.
Tad: No, well, there's nothing yet, but it won't be long. Look, I'm working with everybody. I mean, Jesse, police. I called in every favor I've got. They're going to find her.
Carmen: Jackie wanted to come inside to make sure that you were going to treat me right, but I told him I could handle it. When Erica told me about this job, I thought too good to be true.
Adam: Don't you have something to clean?
Carmen: Oh, is that what I do? Nobody told me about, you know, my duties. This is living large. King size. I got to say --
Adam: A drink, a drink. Uh, a scotch. The -- the decanter on the left. Um, would you mind?
Carmen: It will be my pleasure.
Krystal: Oh, God. I -- I can't take this. I can't. I don't know what to do.
Tad: Just -- just stay there for now with Little A, ok?
Krystal: No. No, I -- I'm going to bring him home.
Tad: I thought you wanted to be over there.
Krystal: No, no, I want to -- I want to be with you, Tad. Um, I -- I want to do something. I don't know, uh, feel useful.
Tad: Ok, well, you come on home. I'll take care of you.
Krystal: I'll see you soon then. Um, I love you.
Carmen: I hope it's the way you like it.
Adam: Um --
Krystal: He -- he shouldn't be drinking at all.
Adam: Would you leave us alone, please?
Krystal: No, actually, I -- I'm going to get Little A and, uh, take him back to my place.
Adam: There's no -- there's no need to rush off.
Krystal: There is no reason to stay, Adam.
Adam: But you -- but we need to talk about this.
Krystal: No, just -- just tell J.R. to call me the minute he finds out about Babe, ok?
Adam: Krystal! Blast!
Adam: Are you here to work or to ogle?
Carmen: I'm ready to go. Just point me in the right direction.
Colby: He's a hot, hard-bodied hunk.
Cassandra: Mm, major.
Corrina: Killer eyes.
Colby: Definite hottie, cool.
Corrina: You can't do that. You're supposed to guess.
Colby: My party, my rules. Remember?
Colby: New game.
Cassandra: Whose idea was this anyway?
Colby: Wild times, huh?
Corrina: No complaining.
Colby: I'm not.
Corrina: I mean, because you said you didn't want a party.
Cassandra: Right, and after Dré bailed on us, you said, "Girls night." And we had to swear.
Colby: I'm not complaining. It's just --
Cassandra: You just what? You freaked out about your Sweet-16 party? I mean, you said, "Never again." Your words.
Corrina: You said you wanted it "quiet and mature."
Colby: My words?
Colby: New words. This party sucks.
Erica: You think you took advantage of me?
Samuel: Yeah, a man in my position.
Erica: A man in your position actually opened up a little bit. You let me see past the pictures on your campaign posters, and it only took a prison lockdown to do that.
Samuel: Still, the kiss is -- it's --
Erica: It was excellent campaign technique.
Samuel: You're having fun with this, huh?
Samuel: Erica, this is a problem.
Erica: Samuel, there are worse problems than two people enjoying each other's company.
Samuel: I care about you. And this can't happen. I mean, it's crazy. Not like this. not under these circumstances.
Erica: Well, Mr. U.S. Attorney, so much passion for something other than politics.
Richie: I'm going to take your life, all of you. What the hell do you think you're doing?
[Richie is tied up in a chair]
Greenlee: Is that too tight?
Richie: Yeah, it's too tight.
Greenlee: Much better.
Greenlee: Oh, look.
Greenlee: We can crash his car, too.
Richie: I'm going to kill you. I will kill you.
Babe: Richie, now, is that any way to talk to the woman you love?
Kendall: Are you sure you're ok?
Babe: Yeah, I was scared out of my mind, but I am doing better every minute.
Richie: Oh, you little bitches can't do this.
Greenlee: We just did.
Babe: He just doesn't get it, does he?
Kendall: Oh, he will.
Babe: The police are going to be here soon, Richie.
Kendall: Actually, you know what? I'm going to call Zach right now and tell him you're ok and that we got the son-of-a-bitch. Then I'm going to call the police.
Greenlee: Hold off on calling the cops.
Babe: Well, the sooner he's behind bars, the better I'm going to feel.
Richie: Let me out of here! Let me out of here, right now!
Greenlee: I've got a better idea.
[Greenlee holds a knife to Richie's face]
Colby: Sorry, guys. No more bitching. This is great.
Cassandra: Yes, I'm feeling the love from you. Ok, can you just tell me what was so horrible about that Sweet-16 party you had? Like, I've heard bits and pieces, but I want details.
Colby: I so screwed up.
Cassandra: Did you really crash a yacht?
Colby: I got majorly wasted, totally out of control, lost my V-card.
Cassandra: No way.
Colby: Totally with the wrong guy. It was so messed up.
Cassandra: Ok, dish.
Colby: Google it.
Corrina: Short version. Jesse McCartney sang at her party.
Cassandra: Get out!
Corrina: Yeah, Colby was rocking a million in diamonds. Hunky guys carried her in. A-list party. And then her and Sean kept it going on his uncle's yacht.
Cassandra: Sean. Is that the guy --
Colby: Can we skip it, please?
Corrina: Yeah, and he was so cute. It's too bad he moved back to Seattle.
Cassandra: And you guys, like, really crashed a yacht?
Colby: This is old news.
Corrina: Oh, yeah, and everyone thought that Colby drowned, and then she just pops up alive.
Colby: How do you know all this stuff? I didn't even know you back then.
Corrina: Yeah, you think a story like that goes away? You're a legend.
Colby: I learned my lesson.
Corrina: Yeah, better keep her away from the hard stuff, though.
Colby: Don't worry. It's caffeine free, sugar free, carb free, fun free.
Cassandra: Hmm, like this party.
[Knock on door]
Male voice: I know you're in there.
Colby: Who the hell is that?
Corrina: Are you expecting someone?
Cassandra: Maybe you should get it.
Male voice: It's the police. Open up.
Dré: The party police!
Colby: Oh, my God. Ooh, thank you.
Adam: So running a household, uh, do you have any experience?
Carmen: Oh, more than you'd like to know about.
Adam: Well, I -- why don't we all confine our, um, our conversation to the, uh, job requirements? You don't have a resume, I assume.
Carmen: I got Erica Kane. If I'm good enough for her --
Adam: Then you've done this before?
Carmen: Maybe not so fancy, but dirt is dirt, and people are people, and I can take care of both.
Adam: Well, I don't need taking care of.
Carmen: Huh, I'm no so sure about that.
Adam: Excuse me?
Carmen: I clean, do laundry, taught Erica a thing or two about doing whites, I'm not so bad in the kitchen, and I can work my way around mixing a decent drink.
Adam: I'll keep all that in mind.
Carmen: And just so you know, I'm very discrete.
Adam: What you saw with Krystal was nothing.
Carmen: It never is.
Adam: No, it's -- it's -- her daughter is in trouble. She's upset. I was trying to comfort her.
Carmen: I saw.
Adam: She's my ex-wife.
Carmen: And the man on the phone, her husband?
Adam: Doesn't need to know what transpired.
Carmen: Huh. I love the way you rich people talk. "Transpired." Almost makes it sound classy. Like I told you, discrete. Lips sealed, which is more than I can say about you and your ex.
Adam: I will regret hiring you, won't I?
Carmen: Oh, you're going to love me.
Tad: Hey. There they are.
Krystal: Any word on Babe?
Tad: Not yet, honey, but soon.
Krystal: I hope you have some pull with the guy upstairs, because I am fresh out of nerves, Tad.
Tad: Ok, ok. Hey, listen, big guy. Why don't you do us a favor, all right? Would you go upstairs and change in your PJs, get ready for bed? All right? All right.
Krystal: I'll tuck you in, in a few minutes, ok?
Tad: Ok. Now listen. Everything on this end is under control. I got Kathy, Emma, Jenny upstairs in bed. Baby, it's your job to keep the faith. I promise you. I've been at this alone for two hours. I'm working with every source I've ever had. They're all out there, looking for Babe and Novak.
Krystal: You take such good care of this family, Tad.
Tad: Why wouldn't I? It's the best job in the world. Come here. Come on.
Krystal: You don't know how much I needed this.
Tad: Well, it's a good thing there's plenty more where that came from, Sugar.
Krystal: It's just that the -- the waiting and -- and the wondering -- I mean, that -- that damn Richie Novak. I can't -- I cannot believe that I hired that devil --
Tad: Now, listen. Honey, you've got to stop doing this to yourself, ok? He got over a lot of people, not just you. And I guarantee he's not about to get past Jesse. Our new chief of police has got every available officer on the force out and on this thing. Look, you're going to be hugging Babe before breakfast. I just -- I'm just -- I'm sure of it.
Krystal: You are so good, Tad.
Tad: I do have my moments, don't I?
Krystal: No, I mean you always -- always do the right thing for me and -- and this family. I'm so sorry.
Tad: Sorry? Krystal, what on earth do you have to be sorry for? Honey, why are you sorry? What, did something happen?
Krystal: No -- it's just --
Krystal: I don't know. Everything's been --
Tad: Wait, hang on, hang on. Yeah, hello?
Babe: Hey, Tad. It's me, Babe.
Tad: Oh, thank God. Are you all right?
Tad: Ok, now, you don't move a muscle. I got your mom right here.
Krystal: Babe. Babe, are -- are you ok? Where are you?
Babe: Mama, I'm fine.
Krystal: Are you with the police, or are you on your way home?
Babe: Listen, I can't explain now.
Krystal: Why, why? What's wrong?
Babe: Will you just call J.R. and tell him?
Krystal: Yes, of course.
Babe: I thank you, Mama.
Krystal: Wait a minute, wait, wait, wait. What -- what about Richie?
Babe: Don't worry. Richie's been taken care of. Well, there's no interruptions. So, ladies, what do you want to do now?
Krystal: She hung up.
Tad: Yeah, well, before that, what did she say?
Krystal: Just that she was ok and to call J.R. I couldn't get anything else out of her.
Tad: Ok, well, at least we know the important part, that she's all right.
Krystal: Yeah. Yes. Oh, God, thank God. Thank God.
Tad: Here. Sorry, honey. I told you everything is going to work out fine.
Colby: You better not soak me.
Ren: What, what?
Colby: Oh, oh, my God. My dad will freak.
Ren: Hey, at least we're not crashing a yacht.
Colby: Does everybody know this story?
Ren: Pretty much. Hey. Hey, when am I going to be able to drive that hot new car you got out there, huh?
Dré: The surprise worked. Oh, I know it's warm. Sorry.
Cassandra: Oh, no, it's ok. I'm just not much of a beer drinker.
Dré: Oh, that's right. You're a Paris girl. [In French accent] Champagne. Chateauneuf du pape, foie gras.
Cassandra: Actually, it's more like baguettes and cheese.
Dré: I got -- I tried to get some bubbles, but this was the closest thing to the door.
Cassandra: You shoplifted it?
Dré: From my dad.
Cassandra: Right, the Senator. So, like, when your dad wins, are we going to have to salute you or curtsy, or what?
Dré: I'm trying not to think about it.
Cassandra: You don't want him to win?
Dré: Well, sort of in like a big-picture, good-for-the-country kind of way, but small picture? Not so crazy about living under a microscope.
Cassandra: Yeah, no, I kind of know what you mean. Just, like, after being away for so long, living at home with my mom and my brother and my new stepdad, it's like surveillance central. Everyone's watching each other and, like, trying to figure out how to make it work. It's weird.
Samuel: Now look, just because I take my work seriously doesn't mean I'm not passionate about other things.
Erica: I don't know about that. You seem to me like a man who never really lets his guard down. I mean, unless you're involved in a prison lockdown.
Samuel: And -- and there's a beautiful lady locked in with me. Look, about this -- about this kiss.
Samuel: I just want to clarify the situation.
Erica: And analyze it, and take a poll, and find out how the red and the blue states feel about it?
Samuel: So you're making fun of me.
Samuel: Erica. I'm the guy that did this to you. I'm the one that put you in here.
Erica: No, you didn't. Truly, I did this to myself by breaking the law.
Samuel: But still, I mean, you and I wouldn't --
Erica: Wouldn't look right? It certainly wouldn't be politically expedient, would it? A family-values, law-and-order candidate kissing a notorious diva he put behind bars?
Samuel: For me, this has got nothing to do with politics.
Greenlee: This is great, isn't it? Almost like a dream come true.
Richie: What are you babbling about now?
Greenlee: You know how it is? Maybe you don't. Someone almost kills you, and then you hope, and you wait that the system works, that they get what they deserve, but they never do.
Richie: Oh, just shut up. Shut up.
Greenlee: Bars for walls and bad food. That's not punishment. This is punishment.
Richie: Ah, you know, you should call off your friend.
Kendall: No, no, no, I'm liking it.
Babe: Yeah, me, too.
Greenlee: Feeling what I felt? That's punishment. Fear, hopelessness, no control.
Richie: Oh, you're crazy.
Greenlee: No, I'm not crazy. I want you to feel what I felt. You know, there's a mine shaft not too far from here. Maybe we ought to dump you down there.
Richie: Are you supposed to be frightening me, huh? Are you supposed to scare me?
Greenlee: It's dark. The air is so thick, it hurts to take a breath. The water, what there is of it, stinks. You yell, and you yell until you lose your voice. You want someone to hear you, someone to come and save you, someone to get there before it's too late, but no one knows you're there. No one comes. Scary, isn't it? No one can hear you scream.
Richie: You're breathing now. Get over it.
Greenlee: My life ended the day you trapped me and Zach in that bomb shelter.
Richie: You have problems. Don't blame me.
Greenlee: I do. You hurt me. You hurt my friends. Maybe it's time your life ended, too.
[Annie peers in the window]
Erica: What do you think your constituents would say about all this?
Samuel: What constituents would that be?
Erica: Oh, don't look now, but one of them is taking an interest.
Samuel: Let her look. I'm talking to one of the prisoners.
Erica: Oh, is that where we are? Back to all talk, no action? Typical politician.
Samuel: You know what? There's not a lot that's typical about me, and maybe one day you'll get to find that out.
Erica: I already sense that.
Samuel: If we weren't in a public room right now, I'd --
Erica: What, you'd what?
Samuel: No, no, you're going to have to wait to find out when we're not in a public room.
Erica: That's a promise?
Samuel: I keep my promises.
Erica: Yeah, well, you're a politician, so you'll understand if I have my doubts.
Samuel: I go after what I want, Erica. And I get it. And when I get it, I don't let go.
Guard: Ms. Kane. Jackson Montgomery is calling, third time. He heard about the lockdown, wanted to make sure you were all right.
Greenlee: It's easier this way. It's quick. It's painless.
Richie: I said call her off. Call her off.
Greenlee: Now you know what I felt like.
Babe: Not like this, Greenlee.
Richie: Ah. Thank you, sweetheart.
Babe: Not until it's my turn.
Richie: Oh, you girls are sick, every one of you.
Babe: You want to know why Richie dragged me out of Fusion? Because he loves me. Don't you, baby? You wanted to be together. That's Richie's idea of love. It's violence and force. But you don't know how to love, do you? You just know how to take. J.R. was ready to give you his bone marrow, give, but that wasn't good enough, was it? No, it wasn't enough that you drugged him, and you kidnapped him. You left him with a disease that could've killed him. You risked all of our lives, even my son's.
Richie: I was always good to your son.
Babe: Yeah, except that you gave his daddy Hepatitis A. And Richie offered to kidnap Little A. Yeah, so after we were settled. Isn't that right? So sweet. So we could be a family.
Greenlee: Yeah, he's all about family. Poor Annie.
Richie: What you little girls don't know about poor Annie.
Babe: Stop blaming everything on her. You terrorized her. Damn grin never left your face. What I'd give to take that away for good.
Richie: Yeah, well, you don't have it in you, do you?
Kendall: They may not. But I do.
Tad: Well, that's weird. J.R.'s not at home, and he's not picking up his cell.
Krystal: Yeah, well, I knew he wouldn't sit still. He went out and looked for Babe.
Tad: I left messages all over creation. He's bound to pick up one of them, sooner or later. Just keep trying until then. Darling, you got to let it go. Babe is fine. You heard it straight from the horse's mouth.
Krystal: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. I know. I heard it. But what if it's not true?
Krystal: What if Richie made her say that, Tad? What if he's -- he's got her?
Tad: Baby, I'm sorry. Now you're just being para -- no, no, look, ok, just think about it, ok? Don't get mad. Why would he kidnap her, drag her out in the middle of nowhere, and have her call you just to tell you that she's fine?
Krystal: Well, I didn't say he was sane.
Tad: You know that girl better than anybody. You know her voice. If something was screwy, you would have figured it out. She would've let you know somehow, right?
Krystal: You're right. No, you're right, you're right. Babe's -- Babe is fine. She's -- she's -- she's going to be ok.
Tad: Groovy. Now that we got that sorted out, what do you have to be sorry for?
[Krystal remembers kissing Adam]
Kendall: You almost killed my husband. And you left him for dead, twice.
Richie: Guess I should've done it right the first time.
Kendall: Shut up. Shut up. My husband was bleeding and hurt, and you dumped his body on the side of the road. You made everyone believe that you were helping us search for Zach and Greenlee, but you trapped them in that hole, and you walked away.
Richie: You know you three hussies should get a new line.
Kendall: What, what? You watched us grieve. You watched us suffer. My children almost lost their father. I almost lost my husband and my best friend. I did lose my best friend.
Richie: Well, she's right there. We can make this interesting, and you can kiss and make up.
Kendall: I told you to shut up. You changed our lives forever. Forever.
Richie: Yeah, I get it. I'm the monster.
Babe: You talk too much.
Kendall: Yeah, you do talk too much. Yeah, shut up, shut up! Shut up! You know what, you know what, you know what? Do you know what?
Kendall: You think that you can get away with whatever the hell you want. You think you can harm people, and you think you can kill people and get away with it. Well, you know what? You know what, you know what? Not anymore. Not anymore, baby. Uh-uh, uh-uh, no. And just think about it. God, wow, wow, oh, wouldn't that feel good? You know what, you know what? A little pressure, a little pressure, a quick twist. Done. Dead, done, gone.
Richie: You don't have the guts.
Kendall: I don't have the guts? Oh, really? Oh, really? Yes, I do. Yes, I do! Shut up! Shut the hell up. Nobody will find you. Nobody will look for you. Everybody will thank me.
[The three women leave Richie tied up and go talk outside]
Greenlee: I would've done it. I would've slit Richie's throat and enjoyed it. Ok, maybe not. But to see the fear in his face, to see the look in his eye that he might die at any second? I needed that.
Kendall: It was really brave for you to face him and what he did to you.
Babe: At least it's over now.
Colby: You know what I'm going to wish for when I blow out my candles?
Ren: What? Uh, what.
Colby: That was just a kiss. My party, my rules, remember? Yeah, hey, hey. Oh, my God. Come on, let's go --
Cassandra: Like, I always thought it was important to know someone's favorite color, or something, before going for their tonsils.
Dré: Yeah, I'm with you on that.
Cassandra: Huh. So what's up with you? Like, you're a hot, rocking musician man. Where are your little groupies?
Dré: Uh, I let the new keyboard guy have them. So, um, you're not going back to Paris. Your boyfriend must not be so happy.
Cassandra: Yeah, I don't have a boyfriend. I'm single. Perpetually single.
Dré: So what's your favorite color?
Samuel: Well, uh, I, um, I have some prep work I got to do for this town-hall meeting tomorrow, so --
Erica: Oh, I'm -- I'm sure that you are already very well versed on -- on all the issues.
Samuel: Tell Jackson I'll call him about the report I'm submitting to the Bureau of Prisons, because I -- I'd love his input.
Erica: I will.
[Erica and Samuel shake hands]
Erica: Thank you. For everything.
Samuel: It's my pleasure.
Krystal: I'm -- I'm sorry because of everything that you've been through, Tad. I mean, you were shot, you -- you almost died, and just a minute ago, we thought Kathy was missing, and it's -- it's just too much. I mean, you -- you deserve some peace, so that you can settle in and get to know your daughter without all this drama and craziness.
Tad: Oh, I wouldn't know what to do without them. Peace and quiet's highly overrated.
Krystal: It's not fair to you.
Tad: Fair? Fair? Hey, man, you want to talk about fair? The life we have, the life you've given me? I couldn't ask for anything more. I can't -- I can barely count my blessings. I mean, we got Jenny, Kathy, Little A, Colby, Babe in and out of the house, all hours of the day or night. Place has got a decibel level of an international airport half the time. Think about it. We got it all, man. We got schools and schedules, got play dates and real dates. We got diapers. We got teething, teen angst, all of it, rolled into one big, beautiful thing, and then, when all's said and done, at the end of the day, when things have settled down a little bit, we get the best part. We got you and me together when it is quiet. And it's perfect. I have that. I have all of that because of you.
Tad: Aren't you going to answer it? I mean, it might be J.R.
Krystal: Uh, it's, um, Kyle, from The Comeback. I'm -- I'm sure he'll -- he'll leave a message if it's important.
Tad: Hmm. Hey, you know what? Why don't I make you some tea? I might even put something a little sassy into it.
Krystal: Why don't you just give me one of those hugs that you're famous for?
Tad: Ok, sure. Come here, baby.
Adam: Don't ignore me, Krystal. When you get this call, call me back. What do you want?
Carmen: I must have taken a wrong turn. I can't find my room, as there are so many bedrooms in this place. Is mine the one with the balcony and the spa shower or the one with the big, pouffy bed? I always wanted one of those.
Adam: Uh, left of the mud room.
Carmen: Excuse me?
Adam: Your bedroom is not on the second floor. It's down here, between the kitchen and the mud room.
Carmen: You got a room for mud? I'll -- I'll just go check it out. My room, I mean. I'm sure it's nice.
Adam: Well, uh, as what you've, uh, been residing in recently has been a federal-detention cell, um, I suppose you'd find this magnificent. And you must check with Lucretia about your uniform. I think it's going to be a bit of change or two from what you're accustomed to wearing.
[After Adam leaves the room, Carmen pours herself a drink]
Cassandra: My favorite color is green.
Colby: Mine, too! Lime green? Kelly green? Forest green? I once knew a girl named Kelly Greengrass, once. Oh, my God. You guys, let's dance. Come on.
Cassandra: Look, I'm taking a break.
Colby: Yeah, like, since we got here. Oh, this is the best. Really. You're the best. Oh, my God. You're the best, too. And so are they. Oh, my God. Let's change the music, huh? New tunes.
Erica: Would you believe my first lockdown, and I was in solitary? Oh, no, Jack. Don't call the warden. No, no, I -- I was just visiting. No, really, I'm fine. I'm -- I'm -- I'm fine. I wasn't alone. Uh, Sam -- Sam -- Samuel Woods was with me. Oh, well, you know him. I mean, that man is so uptight. I really think that solitary was more interesting when I was there by myself.
Babe: How did you know to find me here?
Kendall: Well, from that photo you have at the office, the day that Richie brought you and Little A here. It just clicked.
Babe: Well, you got here just in time.
Greenlee: You got in a couple good hits yourself.
Babe: Well, let's just say he's going to walk funny for a while.
Kendall: Well, I'll be sure to add that to the report. Oh, Zach, finally, you have service. Yeah, um, I'm here with Greenlee and Babe, and she's fine. And we also have one other surprise for you. I think you'll like it.
[Urging Richie to be quiet, Annie walks around the cabin and picks up the knife]
