Greenlee: So I saw Erica's show, "New Beginnings: Live from Cell Block 8." I didn't realize they have lip gloss in prison.
Jack: Well, you know, Greenlee, denying Erica her beauty regimen would be cruel and unusual punishment. Don't you think?
Greenlee: Yeah, and I suppose she has to look her best when she's flirting with Sammy Woods on national television.
Jack: Ouch. Boy, if you're picking on Erica -- and that only means one thing.
Greenlee: What, that it's Friday?
Jack: No, that you want to talk about anything but yourself. Talk to me.
Greenlee: What? I found the perfect coping mechanism for breaking up with someone. I load up on carbs, then I hit the treadmill, then I cry for an hour, then I stick little pins in my Kendall doll, and then I top it all off with a pint of ice cream.
Jack: Gosh, that sounds like fun.
Greenlee: It so isn't fun. But I'm hanging in there.
Jack: Why don't you try something different? Why don't you give Aidan another chance?
Ryan: You ok?
Annie: I guess.
Ryan: Ok, this shouldn't take very long. Jake just has to run a couple more tests, and, uh, I get cleared. Then I'll be ready for this procedure, ok? You're -- you're still on board with this, right?
Annie: I want you to get your memory back, Ryan. I do. It's just --
Ryan: It's just you're afraid that I'm not going to remember loving you. Annie, you're the one who had faith in our love before, and I trusted that, and now, I need you to trust it, ok?
Annie: I guess I'm just a little nervous. That's all.
Ryan: And Richie getting arrested doesn't help that, does it? Annie: I don't -- I don't want to talk about Richie.
Ryan: Ok. Ok, but he's going to be back in jail soon enough, and then he can't hurt you or anybody else after that, ok?
Annie: Oh, God, you know, I just remembered. I left these materials at the printer, and it closes in, like, 20 minutes.
Ryan: Oh, ok, go ahead. I'll be fine.
Annie: Are you sure?
Annie: Ok, I'm sorry. Will you call me after everything?
Ryan: Mm-hmm, I will, I will.
Annie: Hey, Jake.
Jake: You're leaving?
Annie: I have to run out to run an errand for work.
Jake: I didn't get to say hello.
Annie: I know, next time. Will you take my guy for me?
Jake: Yes, of course.
Annie: Ok, thanks. Bye.
Ryan: There he is. There's the doctor who's going to change my life. So when can I get my memory back?
Angie: You took the job!
Jesse: Yes, I did, Angie --
Angie: Jesse Hubbard, I swear, if you get shot down dead in the street in the line of fire --
Jesse: Lady, would you listen to me?
Angie: No, swear, if you get -- die out there and then -- then some -- posing as some police chief hero --
Jesse: Angela, would you back the train -- slow the train down? I am trying to tell you that I did not take the chief-of-police position. I took the position at PVU. You are now looking at PVU's new Professor of Criminology.
Angie: Oh, Jesse.
[Spike speaks gibberish]
Kendall: A baby?
Kendall: Is it -- is it a --
Kendall: That's a baby. You're not a baby. You're a big boy, right? You're a big boy. Yes, you are. Yes, you are.
Richie's voice: Oh, sorry, man. You don't look so good.
[Spike and Kendall chuckle]
Zach: He didn't come to save us.
Kendall: Oh, my God, Zach.
Zach: I'm sorry. I -- I didn't mean to scare Spike.
Kendall: That's ok. That's all right. Rachel's taking care of him.
Kendall: Can I see your hand?
Zach: It's nothing, just a scratch. It's not a big deal.
Kendall: You want to talk about it?
Zach: Talk about what?
Kendall: Why you snapped a crystal tumbler like it was a light bulb?
Zach: It's just business, you know?
Kendall: Yeah, well, you never let business get to you like that.
Zach: First time for everything.
Kendall: Zach, come on. No secrets, please. It's Richie Novak, isn't it?
Zach: I was thinking about what he did to us and what he did to our family.
Kendall: Yeah, well, he's in jail now.
Zach: Yeah. But I need some answers. I need to know why.
Kendall: Well, maybe you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Zach: Really? He dumped me in a ditch after he ran me down. When I survived that, he locked me and Greenlee in a bomb shelter, left us there for dead.
Kendall: In his sick mind, he thought it meant he wouldn't get caught for the hit-and-run.
Zach: So you think he was willing to kill two people to cover his tracks? There's got to be more to it.
Zach: Because I don't understand it, Kendall. I don't understand. I know how to deal with enemies that I've made. I know how to deal with that. But this, this is random. Richie Novak is random. How do I control that? How do I control something like that and protect my family?
Man: Novak, you have a visitor.
Richie: Oh. I was wondering when you were going to show up.
Ryan: I've been doing a lot of reading about the deep-brain stimulation, and, uh, I know it -- I totally get that it's experimental. I get that, but a lot of these doctors really, really believe that it could help these Alzheimer patients with what --
Jake: Yes, that's --
Ryan: This electronic impulses or whatever, and I know I'm not an expert, but if it can help them, it sounds like it could totally help me.
Jake: That's -- that's what we were hoping for.
Ryan: I need a little bit more than -- than hope. I mean, this has been really, really hard, Jake. This has been hard on -- on my marriage. It's been hard on my life, on my kids, on my friends. I mean, I just want my life back, you know what I mean?
Jake: Sit down, mm-hmm.
Ryan: And I want it back without all of these awkward moments. I -- I just -- I don't know how to feel about people. I just want to stop second-guessing all of my instincts, that's all.
Jake: I understand that.
Ryan: Ok, I'll shut up. I'm sorry. I'll let you -- I'll let you talk.
Jake: No, it's ok. I'm -- I'm the one who's sorry.
Ryan: Why? Is something wrong?
Jake: There's been a complication.
Jesse: Well, if I had known that cracking the textbooks would have gotten me that kind of reaction, I would've done it a long time ago.
Angie: You really mean it? You're going to be a teacher?
Jesse: Uh, professor. And yeah, I turned both Sam and the mayor down.
Angie: I can't believe it.
Jesse: Well, the police department has done without me for 20 years. They'll survive without me now.
Angie: Yes, time for new dreams.
Jesse: How about that?
Angie: I don't know what to say. I -- I don't want you to be unhappy.
Jesse: Hey, it's a great gig, and the office, whoo, sweet. You know, I got benefits, summers off. What do you want? Come on.
Angie: You -- you're really ok with this?
Jesse: I will get my fix teaching Forensics and Criminology, setting up cases and watching my students learn how to solve them. It's all good.
Angie: Well, I -- I know what a sacrifice this is for you, baby.
Jesse: I'll still be doing what I love, just in a classroom, not in an interrogation room. And, hey, if it makes my woman sleep better at night, that's all that matters.
Angie: I love you. And thank you, for this. For me. For us.
Jesse: I love you, too, honey.
Cassandra: No, you wouldn't. Please.
Frankie: And the honeymoon continues.
Jesse: Hey, we spent our last honeymoon in the hospital, praying for Tad. Remember that? We deserve a little somethin' somethin', huh?
Angie: We're celebrating.
Cassandra: What's the occasion?
Angie: Jesse just accepted a job. You're looking at the new Professor of Criminology at PVU. Yeah! Isn't that great?
Greenlee: You want me to get back with Aidan?
Jack: Greenlee, until recently, this was the man you wanted to spend the rest of your life with.
Greenlee: Yeah, until I found out that he slept with my best friend.
Jack: Whoa, whoa, nobody is arguing that Kendall and Aidan made a horrible mistake.
Greenlee: I can't believe you're defending him.
Jack: Greenlee, I'm not defending him --
Greenlee: You're my father. You're supposed to want to beat him into British little bits, not talk the guy up.
Jack: Seems to me you're trying to work this out with Kendall, though, right?
Greenlee: That's just a temporary cease fire, for Fusion and for Zach, but I reserve the right to claw her eyes out at a future date.
Jack: Ok, but if you can enact a cease fire with Kendall, then why not with Aidan? I mean, come on, I mean, what -- what is it, honey? What's -- what's holding you back?
Greenlee: Because he made me believe in love again. And then I found out how temporary it all is. I believed in him, and he let me down. And because of that, I'm questioning everything.
Jesse: Yeah, good stuff, man. You should see the lab.
Frankie: Oh, I can't wait. Big fan of the microscope.
Jesse: Yeah, I will be able to set up crime scenes, recreate cold cases. I'm going to be prepping these kids for the academy, the Bureau, wherever they want to go.
Frankie: Oh, well, it all sounds good, Dad.
Jesse: Actually, son, better than good. I mean, I didn't even get to go to college myself, and I'm about to teach at a college?
Frankie: And guess what? You even get to select your own textbook.
Jesse: Yes, I guess I better get to reading these bad mamma jammas, huh?
Frankie: Yeah, but that ain't you.
Jesse: Wait a minute. Was that a dis?
Frankie: No, I'm -- I'm just saying. You're a man who likes to take in on the action, work real cases. Are you really sure you want to spend the rest of your life in front of a blackboard?
Cassandra: If Jesse keeps up this whole super-husband routine, it's going to be really hard to keep hating him.
Angie: I thought you two were getting along.
Cassandra: We are. Relax, I'm just kidding.
Angie: Girl, give me those tomatoes.
Cassandra: You happy about his new job?
Angie: I'm thrilled, and I think he's excited, too, about the opportunity.
Cassandra: If you say so.
Angie: You don't?
Cassandra: Mom, come on. You know he's doing this for you.
Angie: All right. I know it's selfish, but I love Jesse too much to see him do something that's going to take him away again. Now, does that make me a horrible person?
Cassandra: Look, he came back from the dead to you. You have every right to want to spend the rest of your life with him. And Jesse wants that, too.
Jesse: It's a good job, Franklin. It's better than a guy like me ever thought he deserved.
Frankie: Yeah, but is that what you want?
Jesse: Look, I lost 20 years with my wife and my kid. Look at us now, man. All four of us under the same roof. That's a miracle. You know what? It's the American dream, kid. Four careers -- well, ok, three-and-a-half careers, happy, healthy family. Come on.
Frankie: Well, I have to admit, those students are going to be pretty lucky to have you.
Jesse: I'm the lucky one. Matter of fact, I'm the luckiest guy I know.
Richie: This ought to bring you back. Remember the last time you got me locked up?
Annie: I had nothing to do with this, Richie. You got yourself thrown in jail for stealing J.R.'s bone marrow.
Richie: Ah, ah, allegedly.
Annie: They have proof. You're being charged with kidnapping and assault.
Richie: Trust me. They won't nail this on me.
Annie: What about what you did to Zach and Greenlee? Hit and run, attempted manslaughter?
Richie: They have no evidence to hold me to that either. They haven't even charged me with that.
Annie: You covered up that hole, hoping Zach and Greenlee would die down there. How could you do that?
Richie: Same reason you can do what you're doing to Ryan.
Annie: Do not compare us. You know what? This was a mistake.
Richie: Hold it, sis. I still need to get out of here, and you're still going to help me.
Jake: On this last battery of tests that I ran, I discovered a problem in your CT scan.
Ryan: What kind of problem?
Jake: It's a genetic abnormality with the blood vessels in your brain.
Ryan: That doesn't sound very good.
Jake: Well, it's not bad on its own, but it's the type of condition that could make the DBS treatment ineffective, if not rule out the surgery, altogether.
Ryan: What? Is this -- is this new?
Jake: It's the type of thing that's very difficult to spot unless you run a very specific type of test, and nobody here had a reason to run such a test.
Ryan: You got to be kidding me!
Jake: Ryan, listen to me. Ryan. Trust me when I tell you, you know, where I just came from, lack of hospitals, lack of insurance protocol, people move very quickly, or people die, all right, but I just -- by no means wanted to give you any kind of false hope.
Ryan: What are the risks? I mean, Angie already said that there was a slight chance this procedure could be fatal. Well, it's -- it's a lot more than just slight. I really -- I thought this was going to be the answer, Jake. I can't tell you how hard it is living, living with a part of my life missing.
Jake: I understand that feeling.
Ryan: I feel like I'm -- I'm just getting to know Emma and Spike, you know. I want to learn more about them. I want to remember more about them, but at the same time, if it means they could lose a father, then --
Jake: Listen, I'm working on alternatives, ok?
Ryan: And I appreciate that, Jake. But if there is the slightest chance that this procedure could help me get my memory back --
Jake: You need to think about that because when I was pushing this procedure down your throat, I -- I didn't think it could cost you your life.
Ryan: First of all, nobody's pushing anything on me, all right? This is 100% my decision.
Jake: What do you need?
Ryan: I guess I just need to learn more about the complications and real odds, real odds of me surviving this.
Jake: Well, then I really need you to keep your appointment with Dr. Casey, and you ask him whatever you want.
Ryan: Ok. All right, thank you.
Jake: All right. I'm getting out of here in a couple minutes. You want to grab a beer or something?
Ryan: I would. I think I'm just going to go for a walk and just let this sink in a little better.
Jake: All right. Well, if you want to talk or need to talk to anybody --
Ryan: I don't really know what I need right now.
Annie: I can't get you out of this, Richie. No one can.
Richie: I told you, all I need you to do is come up with the bail money.
Annie: Your bail is going to be huge. I don't have that kind of cash.
Richie: You better get creative. Otherwise, I'm going to have to tell my brother-in-law all about your plan to get knocked up while he still thinks he's shooting blanks.
Annie: Ryan is going to be happy to hear when I get pregnant. He's not going to care how it happened.
Richie: Keep telling yourself that. Now look. You come up with the bail money, and I'll disappear forever. How's that sound?
Annie: Tempting, but what if your bail is some outrageous amount of money?
Richie: Then go to your hubby's fat wallet.
Annie: What are -- what am I supposed to do? Go to the bailiff after your hearing and just write him a check? How would I explain that to Ryan
Richie: No, you make the withdrawal, you deposit it in Father's account, Dad writes the check, and Ryan has no idea where the money came from.
Annie: Dad is not going to go for that.
Richie: Dad will do anything for me. Besides, he's family, just like us.
Annie: Fine, I'll try.
Richie: Do it, Annie. Otherwise, Ryan's going to find out just how alike we really are.
Annie: How do I know you're not just going to tell him anyway?
Richie: You don't, but you can't take the risk.
Annie: And what if the judge doesn't even grant you bail?
Richie: Oh, I can be very convincing, if I have to be.
Annie: I'll see what I can do.
Richie: And when you make the withdrawal, be generous. I'm going to need a lot of cash when I go on the run.
Annie: You really thought of everything, haven't you?
Richie: I usually do.
Annie: Hey. Before you disappear, there's something I want you to do for me first.
Richie: For you, sis? Anything, just name it.
Annie: I want you to get Greenlee out of my life.
Greenlee: Truth is, I expect Kendall to lob a grenade into my life every once in a while just for fun, but Aidan was supposed to be safe. The one person who would never let me down.
Jack: Yeah, well, nobody's perfect, and you and I have both learned that the hard way.
Greenlee: Doesn't make it any less disappointing.
Jack: No, it doesn't. Tell me something. Have you -- have you told Aidan how you feel about all this?
Greenlee: What, have I told him I'm bummed he hasn't lived up to my fairy-tale standards? Yeah, I made that pretty clear. But he stills thinks that we have a chance.
Jack: When did he say that?
Greenlee: He brought me home after Richie got arrested.
Greenlee: I realized that I wouldn't be alive today if it wasn't for Aidan.
Jack: The man was absolutely relentless when you were missing. I mean, he practically lived in those woods until he found you. He never gave up.
Greenlee: Yeah, until that one day. You know, I really don't want to talk about this.
Jack: Oh, listen. You and I both know the reason you called me to have coffee today was to talk specifically about this.
Greenlee: Fine, but if you ever tell anyone what I'm about to say, I'll deny it.
Jack: Fair enough.
Greenlee: When Aidan brought me home today, I realized that I really do miss him.
Jack: So call him, Greenlee. See if there's a chance.
Greenlee: No, no, I'm not going to do that whole "I miss you so much, please come back" routine.
Jack: Why not? Why not? If it'll make you happy, why the hell not?
Greenlee: Because missing someone isn't good enough reason to take them back. And taking them back doesn't make the pain go away.
Jack: No, it doesn't. The only way you're going to make this pain go away is if you can learn to forgive.
Kendall: Listen to me. You cannot control everything, Zach. I know you want to, but you can't. Richie is pathological. There's -- there's nothing you could've done to prevent this.
Zach: He's been roaming around here for months. He could have come after you, after the boys.
Kendall: You know, the boys are fine. I'm fine. Richie is not a threat to us anymore. He's in jail, and he'll be sentenced for a very long time.
Zach: Well, prison's not good enough. I want him to feel the way I felt when I was fighting for my life in that hole. I want him to feel the way you felt when you thought I was gone.
Kendall: It's ok, Zach. We're ok.
Zach: It's not ok! It's not ok. Richie started this. Because of him, I wasn't there when Ian came home. Because of him, I wasn't there when Spike had his operation. Because of him, Greenlee lost her fiancÚ, and you lost your best friend. Because of him. Now, I'm going to make sure that nothing else bad happens because of Richie Novak.
Kendall: Zach, please don't do this.
Zach: Don't do what?
Kendall: Whatever you have planned for Richie, please. The cops have enough DNA evidence against him for what he did to J.R., ok? He is going to prison. Richie will be in prison for years and years.
Zach: You don't know that for sure.
Kendall: If you try to take things into your own hands, you'll be making the same mistake I made when I framed Greenlee for kidnapping Spike. Do you remember what you said to me when you found out about that?
Zach: I said you're putting the family at risk.
Kendall: Yes, and you were right.
Zach: And this is very different.
Kendall: Is it? I have risked going to jail to punish Greenlee. I took everything on myself, but I didn't need to because I had you. You. And, Zach, come here. We can -- can do anything as long as we do it together.
Zach: I love this family. I will do everything to protect it.
Kendall: Does that mean that you'll leave Richie for the police?
Zach: I love this family. I'm not going to jeopardize that.
Kendall: Thank you.
Kendall: And there's our boy. Uh, I'm going to go and give him a bottle.
Angie: Where's your brother? Food's getting cold.
Frankie: I'm coming, I'm coming. I -- I got to get back to the hospital.
Angie: I thought you were off today.
Frankie: Yeah, but an intern called in sick.
Cassandra: More for me.
Angie: Well, go ahead and take something to eat.
Frankie: Ah, I don't have no time for that.
Angie: Will you talk to your son?
Jesse: Well, you don't be dissing your mother, too. Eat something, boy!
Frankie: All right. See?
Angie: That's not a meal.
Frankie: What, do you want me to grab a piece of chicken be -- oh, because I'm black?
Angie: Oh, well, I'll smack --
Frankie: Huh, huh, see, see? Uh-uh. I'm going to grab a piece, though. You satisfied?
Angie: Just go -- go -- I'll see you at the hospital.
Frankie: Congrats on the job again, Dad.
Jesse: Thank you, Franklin.
Frankie: Hey, you know what? Think of it this way. Indiana Jones was a teacher, too, but he still manages to keep things interesting.
Jesse: No, you didn't just compare me to Harrison Ford?
Angie: Franklin, go to work.
Frankie: I'll see you around, Professor Hubbard.
Jesse: Oh! That's kind of a nice ring to it, don't you think?
Cassandra: Oh, no doubt.
Angie: All right, let's say grace, because we have got a lot to be thankful for.
Jesse: All right, here we go.
Angie: Lord, thank you for this wonderful day with my family. Thank you for my beautiful daughter, my talented son, and my wonderful, wonderful husband, who did a very selfless thing today by putting his family's happiness, our happiness, above his own aspirations. We are truly grateful for the life that we have together, and we know that it is because of your blessing. Amen.
Cassandra: Amen, ok.
Cassandra: Now, please, pass the rolls, s'il vous plait. Thank you.
Jesse: Let's eat!
Greenlee: You think I don't know how to forgive?
Jack: When's the last time you really, truly forgave someone, Greenlee?
Greenlee: I've forgiven Kendall over and over again, for trying to steal Fusion, for having Ryan's baby.
Jack: Ah, but you said yourself, you can't forgive her for sleeping with Aidan.
Greenlee: Well, there has to be a limit.
Jack: Yes, there does. I'll tell you something that I've learned. You cannot hold onto that anger. If you do, it just eats away at you. It hardens you, and life's too short to go through it that way, kiddo.
Greenlee: You know, sometimes I look at Zach and Kendall, and I get so jealous. He knew about what happened with Aidan for months, and he never walked out on her. He never gave up.
Jack: And why do you suppose that is?
Greenlee: Maybe because he thinks its worse to live without her than to swallow his pride.
Jack: Ah. So maybe you think I might be right about all this?
Greenlee: I know you are. And it scares me.
Richie: Little, goodie Annie is ready to play dirty. So what happened? Did Greenlee tempt Ryan with her big, brown eyes?
Annie: Aidan and Greenlee broke up. Greenlee's tried to take Ryan from me before. I don't want her to try again.
Richie: And you're fighting back. Good for you, sis. I love it when you rattle that wicked, little tail of yours.
Annie: Listen, that's the deal, Richie. I'll give you the money, if you make sure Greenlee cannot come between me and Ryan.
Richie: Ok. How do you suggest I go about doing this?
Annie: I don't know. I just want Greenlee away from Pine Valley. With her gone, I can get pregnant, have Ryan's baby, and he'll fall in love with me all over again.
Richie: Yeah? So do you want me to hurt her? Do you want me to torture her? Do I make her scream?
Annie: I didn't say that.
Richie: Or maybe you're ready for the big time. Would you like me to kill her for you, Annie?
Annie: I just want to be free to love Ryan.
Richie: Well, I'm sure you'll be happy together.
Annie: So you'll do it?
Richie: Sure, sis. I'll get rid of Greenlee for you. After all, what's family for?
Kendall: Yeah, it looks like Daddy -- you don't think so? I think it does. Yeah, he -- he is looking like a lion. It -- that -- that looks like Daddy, too. Kind of funny looking, huh?
Kendall: Very handsome, though. Very handsome. Ah, you know what, Spikey? We are so lucky. We are so lucky because Daddy would do anything for us and your brother.
Kendall: Yes, Daddy would do anything for us.
Kendall: And when he gets home, we're going to show him just how much we love him for it, right?
Angie: I want to go get my old photo album. There's some beautiful pictures of the university in it.
Cassandra: Yeah, and some throwback pictures of you wearing shoulder pads in there, too.
Jesse: Oh, the shoulder pads.
Angie: I'll be right back.
Cassandra: You know, I was actually thinking of, um, of going to PVU this fall.
Jesse: Oh, yeah? You worried about me messing up your swerve by being on campus?
Cassandra: I have not met a man that can get in the way of this kind of fabulous, ok?
Jesse: Oh, listen to you.
Jesse: You sound just like your mother.
Cassandra: I'm kidding.
Jesse: Got to love a woman with confidence, man. I'm telling you.
Cassandra: No, but seriously, Jesse. I think what you're doing for my mom is tres, tres cool. Like, really cool. I do not think I could give up my art or writing for a man.
Jesse: Please. Your mother would make you reconsider if artists, painters, and writers carried guns instead of pencils, paint brushes, and pens.
Cassandra: Ok --
Jesse: Trust me!
Cassandra: You know what I'm talking about.
Jesse: Yeah, well, you know. It's really not that bad.
Cassandra: I know I haven't known you that long, but I do know how much you loved being a cop, right? Somewhat like a spiritual calling for you?
Jesse: Well, my only calling is loving your mother, all right? She deserves a happy, safe life, and this job at the university, going to give that to us.
Cassandra: So you are doing this for her?
Jesse: Didn't just say "us"? Eh? I'm doing this for both of -- I'm doing it for all of us. And it's not that big a sacrifice. Your mother, she is my world without her, I got nothing, and, no, I don't regret making the decision one bit.
Guard: Novak, get up. I need you to come with me.
Richie: Oh, man. Is it time for my arraignment already?
Guard: Just get yourself together.
Richie: I'm getting bail, and I'm getting out.
Jack: Well, you've grown suspiciously quiet.
Greenlee: I was just thinking.
Jack: What's that?
Greenlee: Wouldn't it be great if we could just get on one of those boats and sail away? No destination. No worries. No baggage. Just leave it all behind.
Jack: Yeah, well, you know, the problem with that is no matter where you go, there you are. Greenlee, running away doesn't work. You know that. You tried it before.
Greenlee: Maybe you're right.
Jack: Maybe. You know, I've made a lot of mistakes, and maybe I don't know much, but I do know one thing for sure, and that is you deserve to be happy.
Greenlee: Thank you.
Jack: You're welcome. I need to get out of here. Can I drop you anywhere?
Greenlee: Uh, no. You know what? I'm just going to hang here for a little bit, keep looking for answers out there with the boats.
Jack: Yeah, well, just don't think about hoisting anchor and sailing away, promise?
Greenlee: I promise.
Jack: Good. I love you.
Greenlee: I love you, too.
Jack: See you later.
Annie: I hate doing this. But it's the only answer.
Kendall: Caught you.
Jesse: Whole new life.
Angie: Thank you for making this ok.
Jesse: It's all good. Actually, I'm kind of proud of my new academic cred. But I'm more proud of this family.
Angie: Oh, yep. Aren't we something?
Jesse: Check it out. A doctor, a professor. Wow, it would be nice to hear what Enid Nelson says about that, right?
Angie: Jesse, I know what a sacrifice you're making for us, and as much as I hate asking you to do it, I am so happy that you're going to be safe.
Jesse: Ask -- ask on, ask on. I mean, you, Frankie, Cassandra, you're all that matters to me.
Angie: Well, I just need you to know how much I love you.
Jesse: I do know how much you love me. Trust me.
Frankie: Hey, Dr. Jake. What are you doing here?
Jake: I came in for a consultation. Helping out a friend.
Frankie: How did it go?
Jake: He's got some tough decision ahead of him.
Frankie: Oh, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope it works out.
Jake: Look, I got to get out of here, and this just came in. Can you take it?
Frankie: What do we got?
Jake: Hooker got beat up by her pimp. She's in 15.
Jake: Yeah, she's unstable, but conscious.
Frankie: All right, I'll take care of it.
Jake: Call me, if you need me. I'm on my cell. You got anything for -- oh, thank you.
Annie: You really shouldn't sneak up on people like that.
Kendall: Guilty much?
Annie: Very funny.
Kendall: You don't have to act like I just found you pilfering our petty cash. I just caught you having a little mush moment. Nothing to be upset about. You know, the picture with you and Ryan. It's ok. I had one of those myself the other night. I went to read Spike a story, and I got a little mushy.
Annie: Well, happens to the best of us, I suppose.
Kendall: Yeah. When the going gets rough, sometimes you got to do that, and you have had a rough time, lately.
Annie: Do we have to talk about it?
Kendall: No. I'm just saying, you deserve a little "you" time, that's all. Ok, so where is everybody else? Lucy Danzinger is on her way for our big meeting. I'm supposed to meet her downstairs.
Annie: Ah, Babe and Amanda are somewhere in the building.
Kendall: Somewhere, great. Let's hope they're not having an early happy hour at ConFusion.
Annie: I doubt that. So, uh, where's Greenlee? It's kind of unlike her to miss a chance at publicity.
Kendall: Oh, I'm sure she's off being productive somewhere.
Greenlee: Hey! What are you doing here?
Ryan: Just trying to clear my head.
Greenlee: Yeah, well, don't try too hard. There's not much left in there.
Ryan: You know what? Only you could say that to me after the day I've had and still make me laugh.
Greenlee: Ah, it's a gift. So what's up?
Ryan: Well, I just thought I'd come and watch the boats come in and out. Maybe it'll help a little bit. What about you?
Greenlee: Mm, just thinking about my train wreck of a life.
Ryan: Wow. Could we possibly be any more depressing?
Greenlee: Yeah, I don't think so. Hey -- look at that.
Ryan: Look at what?
Greenlee: At that boat, that boat with the sailboat, with the --
Ryan: Yeah, I see it. What about it?
Greenlee: Writing on it. Look at the name.
Ryan: "Blue Skies."
Greenlee: Yeah. Isn't that what your mom called the good days?
Ryan: Yeah. How'd you know that?
Greenlee: You told me. Don't you think it's a sign? Come on, Ryan. What do you say? You want a blue-sky day? Come on.
Kendall: You don't have to worry about Greenlee, Annie.
Annie: I'm not worried.
Annie: Listen, Kendall, um, I know Lucy Danzinger is on her way, but I have to run a really, really quick errand.
Kendall: Uh, w-w-wait -- now?
Kendall: No, no, no, no, no! You -- you can't abandon me!
Annie: It's ok. I'll be right back.
Kendall: No, no, I'm supposed to show her how -- how the company operates seamlessly. Well, I -- how can I do seamless if I'm the only one here? I mean, how will that look?
Annie: She'll understand.
Kendall: No, but -- but I don't understand. W-what is so important that it can't wait?
Annie: Um, you know what? Babe and Amanda are in the building. It'll be fine. You'll work it out.
Kendall: No, listen, I know you're upset --
Annie: No, you'll be fine.
Kendall: I really -- I need you! I -- you -- you need to be here.
Richie: I told you guys I wouldn't be here very long, right? Hey, wait. I thought we were going to the courthouse. Isn't it that way?
Guard: Who said you were going to the courthouse? He's all yours.
Richie: Who the hell are you talking to, man? Where the hell are you guys going?
Zach: Hello, Richie.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Annie (to Kendall): Is it the guilt? Because you slept with Aidan, now Greenlee can do no wrong?
Ryan: Annie is still my wife.
Greenlee: The one maybe you never loved?
Zach: They're not coming.
