Adam: Get out of my plane.
Dixie: You want me gone? You know what you have to do. Tell Tad about Kate.
Adam: Or what? More flames? More torn buttons? Flying glasses?
[Dixie makes the plane rumble and shake]
Krystal: Tad, what is it?
Tad: I think I better take Dad outside on the patio. I gotta talk to him. We may have to take off.
Krystal: Well, sure. What -- is there anything I can do?
Tad: Yeah. Keep your phone with you. I'm going to need you on this one. It's about Jake.
Angie: Jake, I know how close you are to your family.
Jake: I told you, I can't -- I don't want to see my family.
Angie: That's the trauma speaking.
Jake: No, it isn't. I don't have a fever, I don't have a head injury, it's me. I know what I want. I know what I don't want. I don't want you to notify my family, ok?
Angie: Well, you must remember, Dr. Martin, that it's standard procedure for this hospital to notify the patient's next of --
Jake: I don't give a --
Jake: I don't care about your rules, ok? If you notify my family, or try to call my family, I will leave before you hang up that phone.
Aidan: I told you I'd come back to you, didn't I?
Ryan: Hey. What's going on?
Greenlee: Oh, ok. I'll share, but not for long.
Kendall: Ok, yes. Me first. Welcome back, Aidan.
Aidan: Thank you.
Aidan: Wouldn't have done it without Zach. Without you organizing that replacement helicopter at the last minute --
Zach: Ryan scored the helicopter.
Kendall: And Jake Martin made it out safe?
Aidan: Yeah, he did. I just dropped him off at the hospital. He was fighting it all the way. He just -- he didn't want to come back for some reason.
Greenlee: You must be exhausted. And hungry. Do you want some food, some water, sleep?
Aidan: I've got everything I want right here.
Kendall: Ok, and you can have her all to yourself, but first, tell us what happened. I mean, we saw the explosion, and we thought --
Aidan: I mean, the timing was off. But it worked. The chopper landed under some pretty heavy fire.
Greenlee: You know, I don't want to hear about it. Tell me that part again about where you love me and miss me, and you're never, ever leaving me again.
Amanda: This company heard about our pole-dancing market pitch, and they want in on the action. Look at all this stuff. I say, "Hello, cross promotion. " Pretty hot, huh?
Amanda: This is the best screw-up Fusion ever made. Whoops. Sorry, Annie, but come on. You messing up that presentation banked some serious coin for Fusion.
Annie: Hooray for Fusion.
Amanda: What are you doing here, anyway? You have some deadline I don't know about?
Annie: No. I was just kind of going crazy sitting at home.
Amanda: Ah-ha. Say no more. This should help the crazy. Ooh, la-la.
Annie: What am I supposed to do with this?
Amanda: Well, I think you're supposed to walk around the penthouse in it, let Ryan catch you by surprise, and the rest will work itself out.
Annie: Yeah. That's really going to happen. Ryan, actually, hasn't been around. He's off on some emergency project. I haven't really heard from him or seen him. No phone call, no nothing.
Amanda: Plan's not working?
Annie: There is no plan. Ryan and I agreed he should move back for Emma. That's all. I'm sure he'll call and check in soon. Either way, it doesn't really matter.
Amanda: Would you stop it already? You are talking to the number one, five-star expert on bull. You think I don't know a load when I hear it?
Robert: So, an artist and a writer, huh? Have you published any of your work?
Cassandra: My writing's kind of private. I'm not really into putting it out there.
Robert: Oh, well, a talented young woman such as yourself -- that's our loss.
Cassandra: Yeah, well, it's not that great.
Robert: I'm sure it's as good as your artwork.
Cassandra: Oh, no. If my brother plays one more lame song, I'm going to take his quarters away. Would you excuse me?
Robert: Of course. But I meant what I said before. I really would like to see some of your work.
Little Adam: This is going to be your candy.
Krystal: You doing ok, peanut?
Tad: Dad, I think we should step outside.
Joe: Sounds serious.
Tad: Something I want to talk to you about.
Jesse: Is everything ok?
Krystal: I don't know. Tad said it was something about his brother, Jake.
Angie: You're not going anywhere.
Jake: Really? Watch me.
Angie: What I'll watch is you falling flat on your face.
Jake: Won't be the first time.
Angie: Jake, listen. I want you to listen to me. Now, beneath those cuts and contusions -- and concussion -- you're severely dehydrated. You're malnourished. You push like this, and your body will shut down.
Jake: Sweetie, you're talking to a doctor. First of all, I don't think I have a concussion. And, secondly, I know what my body can and cannot handle. I can take care of myself, thanks.
Angie: Not by the looks of it. What did you do to yourself over there in Africa?
Jake: I managed just fine. Just like I'll do right now. And the people that I'm working with are a lot worse off than I'll ever be. And they need . And I need to get back to them.
Angie: Well, I'm sorry, doctor, but you're not going to move out of that bed until I get your test results, and I say when you're free to go.
Jake: Let me tell you something. You will not keep me in here. Trust me.
Angie: Well, I'll put security on your door if I have to.
Jake: Dr. Hubbard, I meant what I said. Do not call my family, or notify them, because I will not be here long enough to see them.
Angie: Tad, this is Angie. Listen, I want you to call me as soon as you get this. It's about Jake.
Adam: If you're not going to leave, then we'll just land. I'll call the pilot.
Adam: Well, I'll tell him myself.
Dixie: It's for your own good. Magazine?
Adam: This is ridiculous.
Dixie: Macadamia nuts? Kate's adoption paper? Perhaps a single malt scotch to wash it all down.
Adam: You know, Dixie, your tricks don't work on the ground, they're not going to work up here.
Dixie: I just want you to understand that you have hurt a lot of people. Now, some things can't be fixed, some can.
Adam: I am not going to give that paper to Tad.
Dixie: Maybe if you saw the misery you caused others.
Adam: Oh, come on. What now?
Dixie: Do you like horror movies, Adam?
[Dixie plays scenes from the past for Adam]
Dixie: He's my husband. I'm his wife. Of course, he loves me. What do you think?
Tad: Just until that baby is born.
Adam: Gentlemen, I don't want any of this to go out of this room, but my wife is suffering from severe postpartum depression.
Dixie: Oh, the sincerity in your voice. I almost believe you cared.
Tad: What happened?
Dixie: I came about this close to killing my own child. As God is my witness, I don't remember doing it. Get off of me!
Adam: We're doing this for your own good.
Dixie: No, no. I am fine! I am not -- no!
Man: Sedate her.
Dixie: No, you can't take me up there. Adam!
Adam: At last, my son... is safe.
Dixie: Oh, Tad, I've been so scared.
Tad: I know, honey.
Dixie: Is this the white charger?
Tad: You ever try to get a horse in an elevator?
Dixie: Oh, yay! Oh, I love happy endings, don't you?
Dixie: Tad always came to my rescue. Now it's time I came to his and gave him his own happy ending.
Joe: What is it?
Tad: We're going to have to call Mom.
Joe: Why? What's this all about?
Tad: Pop, it's about Jake.
Joe: It's about Jake?
Tad: Cambias was funding his relief effort in Africa. Apparently, Jake was kidnapped and was being held for ransom. So, Zach sent in Aidan to extract him.
Tad: Something went wrong. Very wrong. Aidan was captured, too.
Joe: Well, I mean, at least Jake's no longer alone --
Tad: Jake's --
Tad: Jesse, now is definitely not the time.
Jesse: What do you mean, "Now is not the time"? It's your brother, man. Angie called. He's here.
Aidan: Jake Martin really wanted to stay. I mean, I had to practically knock him out to get him on board.
Greenlee: That's so not Jake.
Kendall: You couldn't call us, let us know you were ok?
Ryan: Yeah, man. You freaked us out.
Aidan: The sniper bullets. They took out the radio, and when the chopper landed, we had to rush for the Army cargo plane.
Zach: I put you in a dangerous situation.
Aidan: No, you didn't, Zach. I chose to go. But just so we're clear, my job is behind a desk from now on, because my wife -- she needs me in one piece.
Greenlee: "My wife." Don't you love that? The wife-to-be needs a tissue.
Zach: I want to thank you for all you did. It was a dangerous mission, and it went south, and you pulled it off.
Aidan: I was just doing what I was trained to do.
Zach: You did more than that. Jake is here in Pine Valley, and he's alive because of you. Thank you.
Greenlee: Hey. Over here? Beautiful fiancée?
Aidan: Come here, you. Come here.
Greenlee: [Yelps] Oh, my gosh.
Aidan: I'm sorry I didn't get in touch and let you know I was ok.
Greenlee: No, you did. I knew you were coming home. I felt it... here.
Adam: I did what I thought was best for J.R. at the time.
Dixie: You had me committed so you could steal our son.
Adam: That was better than abandoning him, isn't it? Better than giving a baby away.
Dixie: I --
Adam: No, no, no. Who is the real villain here? A father who will do anything to keep his child with him, or a woman who just walks away from him?
Dixie: I never, ever wanted to leave J.R. or Kate.
Adam: Oh, really. J.R. was just a little boy when you left for Europe. That didn't matter to you. "Mommy had to find herself," or whatever excuse you've been using.
Dixie: I always planned to come back.
Adam: And Kate? The ranting that went on to reunite Tad and Kate. You didn't even want Tad to have that child when she was born. You gave his daughter away, not me. You.
Dixie: Stop it, Adam.
Adam: Now, that's why you're afraid to face him. That's it! All this hocus-pocus! You're not talking about my sins. They're your sins. And that makes this much more interesting.
Dixie: Giving Kate away was wrong. Yes. That's why we have to give her back to Tad.
Adam: "We"? Tell me, Dixie, if you don't make this right, might I be seeing you roasting beside me in hell?
Frankie: All right, all right.
Krystal: Hey, little peanut. You getting sleepy? Huh? No no? I don't guess so. Well, ok, I'll check on him later. Have fun.
Jesse: What's going on here? This kid's a serious night owl, huh?
Krystal: The energy he's got, huh?
Jesse: Like his daddy.
Krystal: How's the Hubbard family doing?
Jesse: Good. Adjusting.
Krystal: I tell you, Colby really seems to be taking a liking to Cass.
Jesse: Cass is a good kid. You know? A little over-the-top, but the manners -- girl's got the best manners I've ever seen. It's weird.
Krystal: That's a problem most parents would love to have. Are you kidding me?
Jesse: I'm not saying I want her to be a straight-up brat, it's just -- you know? I want her to chill. Cut the politeness. It's killing me, you know? Relax. Kick back. Is that too much?
Krystal: Yeah, well, that's going to take some time for everybody.
Jesse: I guess she was thrown a serious curveball, coming back here, meeting her mother's first husband who was supposed to be dead. Supposed to have been dead.
Krystal: That's enough to shake up anybody.
Jesse: Frankie, Angie, and I, we settled pretty good. Settled in. Found a rhythm, a routine. I think it's the wedding that's making Cassandra feel like an outsider.
Krystal: Jesse, I just know that before too long, that girl is going to realize just how lucky she is to have you in her life.
Cassandra: You killed it!
Frankie: Yeah, well, maybe I'll use my left hand next time to give you a better shot.
Cassandra: Oh, big of you.
Frankie: Oh, yeah, thank you.
Cassandra: That guy kind of has a creepy vibe.
Frankie: Robert? I thought you liked him.
Cassandra: At first, but -- I mean, I know he saved you and Jesse, it's just like he's trying to be my best friend.
Frankie: Well, maybe he's just trying to get to know you better.
Cassandra: "Maybe." Yeah, maybe I'm the weird one. You and Mom and Jesse have this, like, whole life here. Everyone knows you. Me, it's like I'm auditioning to be part of the Hubbard family. Do I fit in? Do I not?
Frankie: Ok, look. Just stop it right there. You, Cass, are a part of this Hubbard family ok? So just relax. There are more important things to concentrate on, like your hand and eye coordination. Excuse me, darling.
Cassandra: Ah! What?
Angie: Oh, no. Back in bed, now. Now, now, now.
Angie: I told you.
Jake: Let me ask you something, Dr. Hubbard. When did you become such a pain in the ass?
Angie: Always, Dr. Martin. Always. I remember when you were "Joey," sneaking and looking at Tad kissing girls. I know that you're allergic to anchovies. And I know how important your family is to you.
Jake: I love my family, and this is not about my family.
Angie: But you have patients to save.
Jake: Oh, praise the Lord, we finally agree on something.
Angie: And you will in a few days. Jake, what's happened to you?
Jake: You're the one who gave me a diagnosis. Did you forget? Check my chart.
Angie: I'm not talking about the cuts and bruises. I'm talking about whatever else is eating away at you, because something sure is.
Jesse: Jake back in town, huh? Looks like the Hubbards are not the only family getting reunited.
Krystal: Oh, it's going to do Tad good. Let me tell you -- what he must have been going through before he got Angie's call.
Jesse: Yeah, that's a speech you never want to make, huh? No. You interned with Jake, right?
Frankie: Yeah. Hell of a doctor. Cool as a fan. I'll tell you, people would get in his face all the time, but he would never lose it. Just deal. I mean, he's one of the most straight-up, low key, take-it-as-they-come person I've ever met.
Jake: Can I ask you a question? What kind of doctor are you? Psychiatrist?
Angie: Insulting me won't get you out faster.
Jake: Well, to answer your question from a half hour ago, the only thing that's eating away at me right now is you.
Angie: Why did God make doctors such lousy patients?
Jake: Well, as doctors go, you are a pain in my --
Angie: Well, as one pain in the ass to another, I've missed you, Jake Martin.
Tad: We all have.
Joe: Thank God -- thank God you're all right. We're going to fix you up.
Jake: Dad, I'm -- I'm fine. I just -- I don't even need to be in here.
Angie: My exam says otherwise.
Jake: Oh, there she goes.
Angie: Maybe you can talk some sense into him.
Tad: Hey -- you just cost me about 10 years of my life. I'm not kidding. I was at Cambias when they told me you were gone. I even saw the feed, the video of your explosion.
Jake: Yeah, I put too much hydrogen peroxide in the bomb, I think.
Tad: So, I guess that means you're losing your touch, huh?
Jake: Yeah, yeah, something like that.
Tad: You're such an idiot. Come here.
[Jake clears throat]
Tad: Listen, you swear to me -- you swear to me that Jeff and Jamie are ok.
Jake: Yes. They're in a safe zone. They're nowhere near where I was. So, you don't have to worry.
Joe: It's good to know. When I didn't hear from you, Tad told me about your being a hostage. Well, your mom is going to have a field day cooking up your favorite dishes.
Jake: Dad, I'm -- I can't stay here.
Joe: What do you mean, you can't stay? You need time to heal.
Jake: I will do my healing in Africa.
Tad: Uh-huh. I guess this is the attitude that's really --
Jake: Tad, please, please. I have things I need to take care of.
Joe: First, we need to take care of you.
Jake: If you want to take care of me, discharge me. Put me back on a plane. Just put me back on a plane to Africa.
Aidan: You brought me back safe, you know that? Keeping my promises to you is what got me back here and got me back home. I mean, I did -- I wasn't able to keep one promise. I lost that watch that you got me.
Greenlee: I never want to see that watch again. We saw it on the video feed in that room and everyone thought that it meant that you were, you know --
Aidan: But you didn't.
Greenlee: You promised me you'd come back. You never lie to me.
Kendall: What you did, reaching out to Aidan -- thank you. I love you.
Aidan: So, you made the helicopter possible.
Ryan: You did all the hard stuff. I just made a few phone calls, my friend.
Ryan: It's good to have you back, man.
Aidan: You, too.
Annie: Today's our anniversary. One year. And he doesn't even remember.
Amanda: So, that's why you're upset.
Annie: I am not upset.
Amanda: You need to make a decision. Do you want Ryan or don't you? You can't play it halfway. If you want him, then do something and if you don't, then move on. You're hot. I told you. Don't waste it on a man who can't remember all that heat.
Annie: Thanks for the advice.
Amanda: You know, do you want to sit behind your desk and hope that Ryan remembers you or do you want to hit him right between the eyes?
Aidan: So, about this wedding.
Greenlee: What about the wedding?
Aidan: Well, after everything that's happened --
Greenlee: You want to postpone it?
Aidan: No, no. I want to move it forward. I want you to be my wife as soon as we can snag a preacher and a sunny day.
Greenlee: Oh, yes, yes, yes. I love this guy. Don't you love this guy? Let's celebrate. Let's go to ConFusion, unless you're not up for it.
Aidan: I'm just getting started.
Ryan: That's what I'm talking --
Greenlee: Grab my purse!
Kendall: Whoopsie. Whoopsie doodle.
Adam: You're not trying to save me, or Tad, or your daughter. You're trying to save yourself from burning in hell. I should have known.
Dixie: Yeah, ok. I made a mistake. I made a horrible, huge mistake, but I am trying to make it right and not for myself, but for Kate -- for my Kate to give her the life that I should have given her in the first place.
Adam: Yeah, but you didn't because you had no faith in Tad.
Dixie: I was wrong.
Adam: No, no. You were right. That little girl is much better off than with that idiot for a father.
Dixie: What are you talking about? You don't care about Kate. All you care about is power. You're the one who gets to decide whether or not Tad finds Kate -- when he finds her, if he finds her.
Adam: Guilt me. Go ahead. Beg me, threaten me, scare me with some of those little tricks of yours, but I would rather burn in hell than hand over that poor little girl to Tad Martin.
Dixie: Well, if that's what you want.
Tad: Welcome home, hero. Sounds like you've got yourself a hell of a party going on over there.
Aidan: Yeah. We're at ConFusion. You should come down. Listen, how's Jake?
Tad: He's alive thanks to you. I really owe you this time, Fish 'n Chips.
Aidan: Well, you should be my best man, and we'll call it even.
Tad: That's a deal. Listen, do me a favor. Is Slater with you?
Aidan: Yeah. Zach.
Tad: Hey, Zach, it's Tad and I owe you an apology.
Zach: It's forgotten.
Tad: What I said to you and Kendall about sending Aidan off on some kind of suicide mission.
Zach: Well, you were angry. I understand. You thought your brother was dead.
Tad: If it weren't for you, he would be. What I told you was unnecessary. It was ugly.
Zach: It's forgotten.
Tad: Thanks for everything, Zach.
Zach: And there's something else I would like to consider forgotten, Tad.
Tad: Yeah, what happened between Kendall and Aidan?
Zach: Yes, and the fact that I knew.
Tad: That, Mr. Slater, is the least I can do.
Zach: Thank you.
Tad: You enjoy your party.
Kendall: Who was that?
Zach: Hmm? That was Tad just to tell me that Jake is going to be fine. Everything's going to be ok. Come on. I would like to propose a toast to the man of the hour.
Joe: You need rest, Jake, and quality medical care, but you're not going to get it in the place you want to go to. And some family time wouldn't hurt.
Jake: I'm -- Dad, I would -- I would love to have some family time. I'd love to spend some quality time, and I would love to whoop Dad at basketball and eat Mom's food --
Tad: You talk him into staying around yet?
Jake: Tad, you get it. You get it when you're on the job.
Tad: Ah, the Martin family work ethic. It's commendable.
Joe: Tell me. Maybe I'm missing something. Is it Carolyn? I mean, should we call her?
Jake: No, thank you.
Tad: You want us to get in touch with her?
Jake: This is not about my wife, this is about the people that need me and trust me. And I can't abandon them, and I won't.
Joe: You try.
Angie: Any luck?
Joe: He's determined to leave as soon as possible. I don't know what's got into him. I've never seen him like this before. I mean, I know he's been through a lot, and I know there's trauma, but still.
Angie: Joe, listen. Based on my examination, Jake's physical condition has been deteriorating for some time. Now, whatever happened to him in Africa, it happened quite a while before he was kidnapped.
Jesse: Hey, I think I'm going to call it a night. You need a lift?
Cassandra: Oh, thanks. I'm going to hang with Frankie, though. I'll go home with him.
Jesse: Oh, all right. Well, listen, I can hang a little longer, play another game with you if you want.
Cassandra: Yeah, well, that would be great, except I don't think I could play another game. I played a lot. Thanks, though.
Cassandra: Uh, hi. What are you doing in my bag?
Robert: Is that yours?
Robert: Oh, I'm sorry because I spilled a little bit of my drink on here, and I thought that the liquid might have soaked through there.
Cassandra: Yeah, it's cool. I'll take care of it.
Robert: All right. Apologies again.
Krystal: Is everything ok?
Cassandra: Yeah, I've just got to get some napkins.
Krystal: Well, looks like somebody finally got tuckered out here, huh? Ok, come here.
Robert: You need some help with that big boy?
Krystal: Are you kidding? Miss cuddle time with my favorite grandbaby? No, I've got it covered.
Laurie: Hey, Greenlee.
Laurie: How you doing?
Greenlee: "Elle Magazine" actually let you out?
Laurie: Can you believe it?
Laurie: Wait till you see our July issue. You look incredible.
Greenlee: Oh, thank you. Well, it was nice to see you.
Laurie: Good to see you.
Greenlee: Have a good night.
Greenlee: To you. I couldn't have gotten through this without you.
Kendall: Oh, no, no. You were the rock. You always believed when the rest of us gave up. I'm so happy for you, Greenlee -- for you and Aidan. Nothing but love and happiness from now on.
Greenlee: From your lips. It's been five minutes. I want to see that he's real.
Kendall: Go, go, go.
Ryan: Now, that looks like true love, to have that kind of love.
Kendall: You do. You do have that kind of love.
Ryan: Mm-hmm. Yes, with Annie.
Kendall: Yeah. You will, Ryan. When the memories come back, so will the love. Trust me, ok?
Ryan: Very nice.
Amanda: Ok. So, this is it. You're going to call Ryan, tell him to meet you here, and show him what you got, girl. Ok, ok --
Amanda: He's here. Ryan's here. Ok, prepare yourself and then make your entrance. Make it big. Tonight is the night Ryan is yours.
Zach: Come on.
Kendall: Have fun.
Zach: Let's go. Take a few days off. You deserve it.
Greenlee: Yeah, just try and get him out that door. It's not going to happen.
Zach: Come on.
[Aidan's phone rings]
Aidan: Whoa. If I can get my phone out.
Aidan: Devane. Yeah, sure. Sorry, babe, I have to take this.
Ryan: That, um, that glow true love thing, it's real, huh? It's not a rumor. What is it? What's wrong?
Greenlee: I'm just so relieved and happy and relieved Aidan made it home. I mean, he made it home.
Ryan: You know what? You really deserve to be happy. You do.
Greenlee: Sorry. I'm sorry.
Ryan: That's no problem.
Aidan: Is everything all right?
Ryan: Yeah, she's just a little too happy, that's all.
Greenlee: Welcome home.
Frankie: All right, we're headed out of here.
Krystal: Oh, ok.
Cassandra: It was really nice to meet you.
Krystal: Hey, now that's not how we do things around here. You're going to have to get used to it. Oh, you too.
Frankie: All right.
Krystal: Listen, you tell Angie I'll call her tomorrow, ok?
Frankie: I will. Yes, I will. Take care.
Krystal: Bye, bye.
Cassandra: Thank you.
Frankie: For what?
Cassandra: Just being such a cool brother.
Frankie: Ah, well, you are one lucky girl.
Frankie: Come on.
Robert: I'm feeling lucky, too, Cassandra, and I will see you soon.
Adam: You won't crash this plane, and you won't make my head explode either because if I die, Kate's secret dies with me.
Dixie: Look, you have children, and they mean everything to you.
Dixie: Please, Adam, you don't know what's coming. You're going to have to give Tad this gift.
Adam: Well, ok. I'll give him a swift kick in the pants and complimentary bag of peanuts.
Dixie: You're impossible.
Adam: Well, I'm on my way to hell. I know -- I know that. See you there, baby.
Dixie: This isn't over. Time is running out.
Adam: Boo! [Adam laughs] Oh, finally, peace.
Tad: What the hell is wrong with you? You saw the look on Pop's face, how relieved he is to have you back. Why would you want to just walk away from him -- from Mom?
Jake: You don't even have to tell Mom that I was here.
Tad: Are you kidding? We're talking about Mom. She ironed your socks. She printed out and saved every e-mail you ever sent her. Look, I'm sorry. Whether you like it or not, you've got some family time coming your way. We're going to get you better if it kills you.
Jake: This is about work. I just need to get back to work.
Tad: No, it's not. I know what you're like. I know how you like to work on something you believe in. That's just who you are. But this is obviously about something else. Ok, fine, terrific. Shut me out. Don't tell me. I'll make you a promise, pal. You keep going like this, I'll do whatever I have to to find out what it is that's tearing you up.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Jake (to Greenlee): I need to get back to my job. Will you help me?
Tad: Why did you come down here?
Babe: What did you think, that I was just going to come jumping into your bed?
Richie: You jumped in and out of J.R.'s bed often enough.
[Babe slaps Richie]
