Erica: It's really exciting, isn't it, Carmen?
Carmen: Bleach and lint make me tingly all over.
Erica: No, I'm talking about our new mission. You know, all the improvements we want to make around here. I was thinking that we should start by prioritizing a list of things we want to see implemented here. You know, the job training, the education, and the counseling. What do you think, Carmen?
Carmen: Can you stop yapping? I got a screaming headache.
Erica: Whoa, somebody woke up on the wrong side of the cot.
Carmen: Look, I'm happy that you're using all your Erica Kane powers to clean things up around here and make things better, but it's not enough -- not for me.
Erica: Well, what do you mean?
Carmen: Let's just say something's missing, and I'm not sure how long I can stand it.
Erica: What are you talking about? I mean, what is this crucial need of yours?
Carmen: A man. Oh, like you're not missing your guy -- Mr. Jackson Mont-yummy.
[Jackson gets out of bed and looks at a picture of himself and Erica]
[Ryan wakes up on Annie's couch and finds her staring at him]
[Kendall dreams that she wakes up and finds Aidan next to her in bed, with Greenlee next to him, and Zach next to her. A regular mÚnage Ó quatre]
[Breathing heavily, Kendall wakes up for real and finds herself alone in her bed]
Erica: Jack isn't my guy anymore. We're divorced.
Carmen: On paper maybe, but I got eyes.
Erica: You should have them checked.
Carmen: You can't fight it, Erica. You and Jackie got mad chemistry.
Erica: Once upon a time maybe.
Carmen: I've seen it when he came to visit. And in Chicago when you, me, and that cow, Louisa, were fighting over the gun, and boom -- here comes your lean, mean, love machine to save the day.
Erica: Jack's my attorney. He's just doing his job.
Carmen: Hmm, my attorney never busted down a door to rescue me.
Erica: Well, I'm very grateful.
Carmen: Oh, yeah. I think he got that when you jumped into his arms.
Erica: Hey, listen, in the middle of the chaos, of course, I gravitated toward him. I had to let him know that I was all right.
Carmen: And the look you gave him when the cops took us away. Ooh.
Erica: Oh, you know what? Now you're being ridiculous.
Carmen: I bet you think about him all the time, at night especially. Those deep blue eyes, that sexy smile. Your tall, strong, gorgeous hunk sweeping you up and carrying you away.
Erica: I see you've taken note of Jack's physical attributes.
Carmen: Fine man like that? Not hard work. I knew it.
Carmen: That's the look. The "don't even think of him, or I will slap you into next week" look. You can blow smoke all you want, Erica Kane. But you still got it bad for that man.
Annie: Eggs or cereal?
Ryan: Um -- what? What was that?
Annie: Breakfast. I was going to wake you to see what you wanted.
Ryan: Ok, uh -- actually I don't think I'm all that hungry just yet, but thank you.
Ryan: Great. Thank you. So is -- is Emma awake?
Annie: Yes, yes, she's dancing around with her little mermaid doll right now. You would never know that she got bit by a bug and had to go to the emergency room last night.
Ryan: Yeah. Yeah, brave. Brave girl, our daughter, huh?
Annie: Yeah. You were really, really good with her last night, Ryan, the way you held her and kissed away her fear. It made it better that you were there.
Ryan: I'm glad that it wasn't more serious.
Annie: Yeah, me, too.
Annie: And thank you for spending the night. I know Emma really wanted you to stay.
Ryan: No problem.
Annie: Maybe you could take her to school today if you're interested.
Ryan: I would love that. That'd be nice, yeah.
Ryan: Ok, so I'll just -- I'll go get cleaned up. Ok, oh.
Ryan: Oh, no, no, I'm sorry.
Annie: That's -- oh.
Ryan: I'm sorry.
Ryan: I'm -- I'm the one that's sorry. And I'm sorry about yesterday.
Annie: It's not your fault Emma was bitten.
Ryan: I'm not talking about that. I'm just -- I'm talking about us.
Annie: I told you, Ryan, I don't want you to apologize to me anymore. You're trying so hard to love me, and I don't want you to try that anymore.
Ryan: I know. I know that you --
Annie: Listen, listen, listen. You're either going to fall back in love with me or you're not. You can't force this.
Ryan: Could you really be that understanding? I don't get it.
Annie: It's just that I know whichever way this goes, I'll be fine. And I want you to be fine, too, however that happens.
Greenlee: What about the new shipment at Charm!? Amanda, tell me we don't have 10,000 bottles of harm on its way. Ok, good. Put Babe on. Yes, I'm here, uh-huh. Ad push -- Mother's Day. Talk to me. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Hmm. Ok, ok, ok, sounds like everything's under control. I got to go.
Aidan: Less business, more pleasure.
Greenlee: Hmm, I can multitask, ok? On the list, on the marriage to-do list. I take you, my very handsome, very naughty, fiancÚ and go see my father and tell him the big news.
Aidan: It's not happening.
Zach: You ok?
Kendall: Uh, yeah. What time is it? Did I oversleep?
Zach: No, you're fine.
Kendall: Oh, God, it's late. I'm supposed to go visit my mom in prison today. Look at this place -- it's a mess.
Zach: Kendall. Kendall?
Zach: Slow down. What's got you so worked up? What's going on?
Kendall: Oh, I don't know. Maybe because we had the evening from hell last night, with Aidan and Greenlee?
Zach: It wasn't so bad.
Kendall: Are you kidding me? I admit the worst mistake of my life to you, and then the four of us were sitting around having cocktails.
Zach: Going to have to to move on.
Kendall: What if she knew I was hiding something? I mean, there's no way that she bought that lame excuse that I was just so happy for her. She knows me way too well. Did she say something to you?
Kendall: Don't lie to me, Zach.
Zach: She's focusing on her future, and we should do the same. Get dressed and go see your mom.
Kendall: What am I supposed to wear? I don't know. This is -- this is boring. This -- I look too bony in. And this is ugly. They're wrong. They -- they don't look right, they don't feel right. Nothing feels right.
Zach: Hey, Kendall, it's going to be all right.
Kendall: When, Zach? When will we feel right again?
Erica: Just hand me some shirts.
Carmen: Admit it. You're missing that Jackson action.
Erica: The shirts, Carmen. We have work to do. Ok, I admit it. I miss Jack -- as a friend.
Carmen: Girl, please.
Erica: Oh, you don't believe me?
Carmen: The people from your old hood, the old lady down the hall, the cat -- those you miss as a friend. Se˝or blue eyes? Whole different story. Speaking of which -- you never really told me yours.
Erica: Yes, I did. I told you everything when we hitched the ride on the truck.
Carmen: Uh-uh. You gave me the highlights, but I want the nitty-gritty details.
Erica: Well, I don't have time for that.
Carmen: Honey, you got six months. Please?
Erica: Ok. Well, I mean, Jack and I have known each other for more than 20 years. You name it, we've survived it. Every kind of crisis that you can even imagine. We've had more starts and stops, but I mean we finally did it. We got married.
Carmen: Did you have a big wedding with lots of famous people?
Erica: No, just family, down in Florida under a banyan tree.
Carmen: A what?
Erica: It's big -- gorgeous, big old strong banyan tree. Jack and I exchanged our vows under that tree. We told each other we belonged to each other forever.
Carmen: Did they slap you with the wrong charge.
Erica: What do you mean?
Carmen: Instead of insider trading, they should have stuck you in here for being a damn fool.
Carmen: You walked away from the man you're crazy about, that's just as crazy about you? I mean, I can't think of what's more stupid.
Annie: No matter what happens between us, we'll figure it out. My main priority is to protect Emma.
Ryan: Mine, too.
Annie: Ok, great. Um, and yesterday she felt so -- so safe, and so secure when she was with you, and I really want her to feel that every day.
Ryan: I completely and totally agree.
Annie: Ok. Um, you know, so, I thought that one way to help that happen would maybe be if you moved back home. I mean, I just realized that it was selfish of me to ask you to move out. So, you know, if you thought about coming back, maybe -- I mean, I would clean out the guest room, so you won't have to sleep on the couch, you know. And that way, we could tell Emma that Daddy's coming home.
Emma: Daddy's coming home. Daddy's coming home!
Ryan: Oh! Ah!
Zach: Focus on what matters -- family and our future.
Kendall: It's not that simple.
Zach: It is that simple. Believe in us. Just believe in us. I'm going to check on the boys, and go to the office. I love you.
Kendall: I love you, too.
Greenlee: You don't want my dad to know we're engaged?
Aidan: Well, no, like I said, I'm more traditional in that sort of area, which is why I'm going to go see your dad this morning -- alone.
Greenlee: You are the sweetest, most romantic, most thoughtful man. And brave. You sure you're up for this?
Aidan: I might have to do a couple of shots before I go.
Greenlee: Oh, you don't have to worry about it, he's going to love you just as much as I do. I completely forgot. There's another family member that we have to tell our big news to.
Aidan: Oh, not Erica. Erica?
Greenlee: Oh, she'll read about it in the "Jailhouse Gazette." No, this is someone much nearer and dearer to my heart.
Aidan: Oh, is he famous? Alfonso. Ciao.
Greenlee: Fonzie, we're making it official. Let's hold on to this. No tension, no weirdness, like Zach and Kendall last night.
Aidan: It wasn't weird.
Greenlee: You didn't get a strange vibe from Kendall?
Aidan: No. No, I was too busy concentrating on my bride-to-be.
Greenlee: Hey, where are you going?
Aidan: Well, I've got an important meeting to get to.
Greenlee: Can you meet me now?
Zach: What's going on?
Greenlee: I need to talk to you about last night.
Erica: Oh, honey, thank you so much for coming back to see me again so soon.
Kendall: I miss you so much. Are you ok?
Kendall: Busy. What kinds of things are you doing?
Erica: Well, for one thing, I'm learning a lot about my fellow inmates. It's been quite an education.
Kendall: Did they hurt you?
Erica: Oh, no, no, no. They -- they talked to me. I mean, they all want to improve themselves before they get out of here. They want to use this time to improve themselves.
Kendall: I don't think you should get involved.
Erica: Oh, honey, I want to. I mean, instead of just marking the days, you know, I -- I can really use my time in here to make a difference.
Inmate: My girl Erica.
Erica: I can give these ladies -- I can help give them anyway, some tools that they can use to improve their lives. You know, have a new beginning, a real new beginning, when they are released.
Kendall: You never cease to amaze me. No wonder your fans are launching this whole letter-writing campaign to get you out.
Erica: They are loyal. But listen, I want to hear all about you, honey. I have been so worried about you since your last visit. Kendall, tell me that you followed my advice. You did not confess to Zach.
Kendall: Zach knows, Mom. He knows I slept with Aidan. I told him.
Erica: Oh, Kendall.
Kendall: We're still together. I mean, Zach is there, but -- but he's not. I don't know. It's so strange between us. It's different. Something is broken. I broke it, and I have no idea how to fix it.
Greenlee: Ok. This is what's on my mind.
Greenlee: Ah, ah, bridal magazines. I also have highlighters and some gold stars, and little page markers.
Zach: Arts and crafts, huh?
Greenlee: Yeah. Kind of. Today's project is all about decorating the things we like for the magazines.
Greenlee: Yeah. I do the girl stuff, you do the boy stuff. Ok, skip what you hate, flag what you like. All you have to do is look for a tux for Aidan. Don't worry, Zach, flipping through a few bridal mags will not make you less of a manly man.
Zach: Says the woman who made me dance around a pole.
Greenlee: Oh, you loved it. Now, look, look, look. See? See? See, this is just stupid. She looks like a pineapple.
Zach: I don't even know what I'm looking for. What is this stuff?
Greenlee: Classic and elegant with a modern twist.
Zach: Oh, ok. Great.
Greenlee: Ok. All right. I -- I didn't really want to talk about wedding stuff.
Zach: Yeah? What did you want to talk about?
Greenlee: I worry about you and Kendall. What was going on last night?
Zach: Nothing. We had a good time.
Greenlee: Come on. The tension between the two of you was palpable. And she was practically crying her eyes out.
Zach: Well, her best friend's getting married. She's an emotional girl, you know.
Greenlee: Zach, come on, it's me. Are you and Kendall in trouble?
Kendall: Zach and me -- it just doesn't feel the way it's supposed to.
Erica: It's all right.
Kendall: No, Mom, it's not. It's horrible. I held out as long as I could, but -- but Zach knew it was in me, and he pulled it out.
Erica: Zach knew?
Kendall: Yeah. I mean, I have been acting so guilty and jumpy around Aidan, he just -- he put the pieces together.
Erica: All right. So, what did you say?
Kendall: Well, I told him how scared I was, when he was missing. And that Aidan and I searched day after day after day, and we did everything we could. But then, I gave up.
Erica: No, you didn't give up. Nobody thought that Zach could possibly still be alive.
Kendall: Well, that's -- that's what I tried to make him understand, that there was nothing left, that my heart was dead. And I told him how sorry I was.
Erica: You were consumed with grief, Kendall. I mean, who's to say what any one of us would have done under such a devastating situation?
Kendall: Mom, how do I make this better?
Erica: You remember that Zach loves you.
Kendall: And I betrayed him.
Erica: You made a mistake, under the worst possible situation imaginable.
Kendall: Zach says that he wants to try to put this behind us.
Erica: Well, isn't that what you want, too?
Kendall: Yeah. Yeah, but, Mom, it's so quick. I mean, Zach has all of this anger and pain, and it's still inside him. I know it is. And he's putting it somewhere. But wherever that place is, I can't reach it.
Waiter: There you go. There you are.
Zach: Thanks, man.
Waiter: Yeah, no problem.
Zach: What do you want, more sugar? You want milk? What?
Greenlee: I want an answer.
Zach: Kendall and I had an argument before dinner. We worked it out. Everything's fine.
Greenlee: No, you were hiding something, just like you're hiding something now. I want to know the big secret.
Aidan: Come in.
Aidan: Thanks for coming.
Jack: Yeah. You said it was important. Is this -- this about Greenlee?
Aidan: Well, yeah. It's, uh -- it concerns her, yeah.
Jack: Well, is everything ok?
Aidan: You know, it's not bad. It's good for all of us, I hope.
Jack: Aidan, you seem a little nervous. What's going on here?
Aidan: Um -- ok. Just give me a second. I -- been a bit of a nomad. Moved around a lot before I came to Pine Valley, but since I've been here, you know, I've put down some roots and, you know, made some good friends, earned a decent living. I consider this place my home. This is where I want to stay, but I want more, ok? So, I've decided to take a job at Cambias. It has an excellent salary, great benefits -- you know, stock options, a 401-K, and -- which is good because I have goals. I have big goals for the future for myself and for Greenlee. Um, you know what, Jack? I love your daughter. I really do. She's the best thing that ever happened to me and, you know, I want to do what's right by her, and I love her with all my heart. And I want to be with her and take care of her always. So, I asked you here today for your blessing and your permission to take your daughter's hand in marriage.
Zach: Every relationship hits a rough patch sometimes.
Greenlee: When did it start?
Zach: When we got out of the bunker.
Greenlee: You guys had been disconnected for that long?
Zach: Yeah, and I didn't realize that until just recently.
Greenlee: Did Kendall feel excluded because of everything that we went through together down there?
Zach: I'm sure that's part of it, sure.
Greenlee: So, let me guess. She felt left out, so she went out and did her own thing just to get even.
Zach: She's an independent woman. I love that about her, but being independent, being separate -- those are two different things and separate doesn't work for us.
Greenlee: What about you? I mean, do you feel separate from her? It's not easy to explain our experience to anyone else.
Zach: No, it's not, but I'm working on it. It's just, it's a lot tougher than I thought.
Greenlee: Wow, I'm sorry that you guys are going through this. I mean, is there anything that I can do?
Zach: No, no, thank you. Thanks.
Greenlee: Maybe Aidan can help. I mean, he and Kendall got really close when we were missing.
Zach: No, I think this is something I got to work out with my wife.
Kendall: Zach keeps telling me he's over it, and he can deal with it, and I should, too. He's put it out of his mind.
Erica: Sweetheart, you can't ask for a better response than that. You told your husband the truth and now he wants to move on. Let him deal with this in his own way.
Kendall: By insisting that we're fine? He's fine, I'm fine? Mom, I am not fine. I haven't been fine since that terrible night with Aidan. I hated myself then and I hated every second that I kept it from Zach. I should have just told him right away.
Erica: Well, what's done is done.
Kendall: But I thought that if I kept it buried deep inside of me, it would never have to come out, and I could protect Zach and protect our marriage, but it was like it was clawing at me from the inside, and I had to let it out.
Erica: You did what you thought was right.
Kendall: I thought coming clean would make it hurt less, but you knew. You said it would make it worse, and it has. And now it's not just me suffering, it's Zach, it's our marriage, it's everything.
Erica: Honey, Zach said he's forgiven you. He wants to move on.
Kendall: Yeah, that's what Zach says, but I don't think he can, not now, not ever.
Annie: Emma, sweetheart, will you go finish getting ready for school, please?
Emma: Daddy's coming home! Daddy's coming home! Daddy's coming home.
Annie: Ok, I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I didn't mean for her to hear that.
Ryan: It's -- it's ok.
Annie: Ok. Well, you obviously need some time to think about this. I'm going to go talk to Emma.
Ryan: Whoa, no, no, no, no. I mean, we just decided that, you know, Emma's our number one priority, right? So, after I drop her off at school, then I'll just head right over to the yacht club, I'll get my stuff, and come back in here, like today.
Annie: Ok, yeah. I mean, are you sure? No pressure.
Ryan: I'm -- I'm sure.
Annie: Ok. And if it gets weird, you have to tell me, ok, because --
Ryan: Well, you do the same, you know, if it gets weird. You tell me, all right? So, deal?
Ryan: Ok. You know, it's not like I'm going to miss the hotel very much, I've got to tell you the truth. As much as I love maid service, it's getting a little old, so --
Annie: Yeah, I know what you mean. Every night after I tuck Emma in, it's like dead silence, and I hate it. I mean, not that I expect you to hang out with me all the time when you're here. It's not --
Ryan: No -- I mean, I'll be here if you need me, ok? It's not going to be like last time, all right? This time, we're going to be friends, good friends.
Erica: Kendall, look at me. Zach loves you and I love you. And Zach would move heaven and earth to make you smile. He would fight to the end of time to keep you safe. You're his life and that is not going to change. So, if Zach tells you that he's willing to forgive you, then you embrace that. You honor his -- his will to move on, and you do that. Do it together.
Kendall: What about Greenlee?
Erica: Greenlee? What about Greenlee?
Kendall: She and Aidan just got engaged.
Erica: Well, that's good. Then Aidan will worry about Greenlee.
Kendall: No, but, Mom, Greenlee is my best friend. I want to be there for her. I want to throw a wedding shower for her, I want to help her try on wedding dresses, but every time I'm around her, and I look at her, all I want to do is cry.
Erica: You need to be strong for her, too.
Kendall: But we're supposed to tell each other everything.
Erica: Honey, I don't think that Greenlee is necessarily playing by the same rules you are. After what she did to your family, you can lie to her, especially about this.
Kendall: Mom, we talk on the phone every day. We see each other constantly at Fusion. We've finally gotten to this place where we can trust each other again.
Erica: Well, that doesn't have to change, but it's Zach's trust that you have to be most concerned about regaining.
Kendall: Mom, something's got to give. I mean, this is all too much. Between Greenlee and me working together and running this company and now Zach hiring Aidan to be his new head of security.
Erica: Zach did what?
Kendall: Yeah, yeah, it's crazy, I know. There are so many land mines out there. How can we possibly keep Greenlee from stepping on one?
Greenlee: So, I guess there's another side to the bomb shelter effect.
Zach: What do you mean?
Greenlee: Well, the time that we spent together brought you and me a lot closer, but it also did the opposite for us and the people we love.
Zach: How is that? You got engaged.
Greenlee: Yeah, after I turned him down and then went running after Ryan to save him. Do you think that was some sort of post-traumatic stress thing -- that, you know, I almost died, so I was too scared to imagine a long life with Aidan?
Zach: I don't know. Could be. I --
Greenlee: Thanks again, by the way.
Zach: For what?
Greenlee: For helping me get Aidan back.
Zach: No, that was all you.
Greenlee: No, I couldn't have done it without our talk at ConFusion. You were straight with me, Slater, and I appreciate it. You wanted to make sure that I was clear about what I wanted.
Zach: And you wanted Aidan.
Greenlee: Yeah, Aidan. I mean, we hit a rough patch, but no now we're great, and I have the rock to prove it.
Guard: Time's almost up, Ms. Kane.
Kendall: Greenlee is going to get crushed, Mom. It's only a matter of time.
Erica: OK, let's get back to Zach. How could Zach have hired Aidan?
Kendall: I told him it was a bad idea, but he said if he takes back the offer, Greenlee will know something is up.
Erica: I don't care what Greenlee knows. Aidan cannot work for your husband.
Kendall: God, Mom, I'm losing my mind with all of this. I'm even thinking about it when I sleep. I had this dream that I was in bed with Greenlee, Aidan, and Zach. It was ridiculous, and it was horrifying.
Erica: Zach is the only person in your bed.
Kendall: I know that, but what should I do? Should I -- this guilt that I feel about Greenlee, should I just forget it? Forget that I have this secret that would kill her?
Erica: As long as you keep it a secret, it can't kill her.
Kendall: I can't. Please, Mom, tell me what to do.
Erica: OK, you listen to me. But I mean, listen to me now, and you really hear me. You made a mistake. You deeply regret it, and you have apologized for it, and lucky for you, Zach forgives you. You embrace that forgiveness and forgive yourself, honey. You deserve happiness. You deserve love. Believe it. Know it in your heart. You go home now. Go home to you children and your husband and the life you have worked so hard for. And you appreciate it, and you protect it -- everything you have.

Zach: I'm happy for you.
Greenlee: Yeah? Happy enough to wear this to my wedding?
Zach: God. I hope I will never be that happy.
Greenlee: Ah. You know, I love this stuff -- showing off my ring, looking at dresses, talking about my fiancÚ, but this wedding is so much more than that. It's a miracle.
Zach: I understand.
Greenlee: In a way nobody else could. So, come here and congratulate me like you mean it, damn it.
Zach: God, you've got to be one of those pain-in-the-ass brides, don't you?
