Ryan: You came here so that we would kill you.

Richie: Kill me? I have terminal cancer, Ryan.

Ryan: You had a good run, Richie, but it's over. Your plan's not going to work.

Richie: Go share your conspiracy theories somewhere else and leave me in peace. I am dying.

Ryan: Yeah, you are. But you're not taking my family with you.

Erica: Yes, the toys I ordered have not arrived. Yeah, I'm aware that it's the Christmas rush. Of course, it is -- it's almost Christmas. Please just get them here. Oh. Oh! Where have you been? Rachael, can you show this gentleman to the boys' rooms?

Rachael: Mm-hmm.

Erica: Great. Val, hi! Oh, I'm so glad to see you. Did you get everything?

Val: Yes, and there are a hundred more bags in the car.

Erica: Ok, well, you're not finished yet.

Josh: Erica, what's all this for?

Erica: Kendall. I want to be sure that she and her boys have everything they need -- Zach, too, of course.

Josh: Well, Zach's not here.

Erica: But he will be, Josh. He is going to come walking right through that door, and he's going to be home, and they are going to get their life back together.

Josh: Well, what about your life? What's going on with you and Jackson?

Erica: Oh, flowers -- Kendall loves flowers.

Kendall: We did it. Aidan, we did it. We found proof that Zach and Greenlee are together.

Aidan: Look, this is not definite, all right? But it's nice work.

Kendall: Yeah, nice teamwork. Now, you found this and -- and Greenlee's cell phone somewhere out there. But you never would've -- would've found the significance without this, without me.

Aidan: I'll give it to you, Kendall, all right? I never would've realized that Zach drew this.

Kendall: This charm is a sign. It's a sign, Aidan. I hope Zach feels it. I hope he feels the sign that we're close to him.

Greenlee: Oh, my God! This is it, Zach -- this is it! We're going to die down here! We're going to die down here! We're going to die!

Zach: Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey --

Greenlee: We're going to die!

Zach: No one's going to die.

Greenlee: Oh, my God. Get away from me, get away from me! I can't believe I am stuck down here with you and that thing! We're going to run out of food, we're going to run out of water! We're going to run out of air!

Zach: Stop. Stop!

Greenlee: We're going to run out of air!

[Greenlee gasps]

Zach: Here's what's going to happen. You're going to pull yourself together, I'm going to get rid of that thing.

Greenlee: Oh, my God. Oh, God, oh, God --

Zach: Look at me. Look at me! Who am I, huh? I'm the man that ruined your life, took all your dreams away. What do you say to that? What?

Greenlee: I can't believe I let you -- I can't believe I came back to get you. I should be out there with Aidan.

Zach: That's it? That's all you got?

Greenlee: Just -- please make it go away.

Zach: All right, I will. I'm going to have to let go of you. Don't cry on my shirt, come on. You're all right, pull it together. You ok? I'm letting go. I'm on it. There, it's gone. Pull it together. The sooner you pull it together, the sooner we get out of here.

Greenlee: We're not getting out of here, Zach. That -- that -- that hand from hell proves it.

Kendall: It is a sign, Mom -- it's got to be. Isn't it just amazing? We found proof that Zach and Greenlee definitely are together. Now, we don't know where yet, but we will.

Erica: Uh -- "we"? You -- you mean you and Aidan? He stopped slamming the door in your face?

Kendall: Yeah, after I took a pry bar to the door. Aidan and I are a team now, and it's only a matter of time before we find Zach.

Erica: Honey, that's just wonderful.

Kendall: How are the boys?

Erica: The boys are great. Rachael's here, Uncle Josh is here, too, and you and Aidan -- you just keep working, ok, because I have everything covered here.

[Phone beeps]

Erica: Oh. Honey, I -- I'm sorry. Pam is buzzing me.

Kendall: It's ok -- go. I love you.

Erica: I love you, too, honey.

Josh: Erica, what's -- what's going on here?

Erica: Nothing. I got to leave the office early. I thought I'd come over here and try and get a few things done for Kendall.

Kendall: Yes, Dr. Norton. Spike and I will be there first thing in the morning with our whole entourage. Yes, ok. See you then. What --

Aidan: Go home, Kendall -- now.

Kendall: Don't talk to me like that. And don't tell me what to do.

Erica: Yes, of course, I still want them on the show, Pam. I just want you to push them back a week or two. Yeah. Ok, well, I have to be available for my daughter.

Josh: I just want to let you know that I'm right there with you. I mean, Kendall's my sister, Zach is my brother, and I want to be there for them, and my nephews, too -- literally. I mean, I want to be here until their father comes home, so I am going to move in. And I just want to let you know as well that if you need anything, I'm here for you, too.

[Phone rings]

Erica: Yes, Pam, what now? Oh. Uh -- yes, yes, I have it. So, ok, go ahead, read it.

Josh: And I'm sure Kendall won't mind if I make a few changes around here, too, right? I'm thinking we'll put the trampoline over here right next to the strippers' pole?

Erica: Perfect. Thanks, Pam. So, you were saying?

Josh: You know, I used to do this, too -- bury myself in work to keep my mind off the person I missed like crazy?

Erica: Oh, Kendall is always missing Zach.

Josh: I'm not talking about --

[Knock on door]

Josh: I'll get it.

Josh: Joe.

Joe: My grandson.

Josh: How you doing?

Joe: What a pleasant surprise. I stopped by to go over the final preparations for Spike's cochlear implant surgery.

Josh: Oh, well, Kendall's not here but come on in.

Joe: Ok.

Erica: Oh, no. That man is not welcome, not after what he did to my relationship with Jack.

Jack: Hi, guys.

Ava: Hi.

Jonathan: We got your message. What happened?

Ava: Yeah, how's Lily?

Jack: Well, her -- her doctor was here earlier, and he decided against giving her a sedative.

Ava: Whoa, whoa -- a doctor?

Jonathan: Wait a minute -- what happened?

Jack: I don't know, I don't know. I -- I've seen her have these meltdowns before, but it's what she's saying this time. It scares the hell out of me.

Lily: Murder, murder, murder, murder. Murder, murder.

Sean: Lily, I -- I brought you a present.

Lily: Murder, murder.

Sean: It's this really chill jazz that Corrina turned me on to.

Lily: Murder.

Sean: Nothing loud, nothing loud, I promise.

Lily: No, no, no! Murder, murder, murder, murder, murder.

Richie: I know you and Annie want me gone, but now you're going to kill me and say that's what I wanted? My own sister and her husband, that -- that's cold.

Ryan: I met Stan Rawlings.

Richie: Who, Ryan?

Ryan: The man that sold you that life-insurance policy? Should we take a look at what it says?

Richie: Please.

Ryan: It says in here if you die of natural causes that this policy is worth absolutely nothing, but if you have an accident or somebody murders you, it's worth a cool million.

Richie: Ok, this is insane.

Ryan: I haven't even got to the best part yet -- the beneficiary. Dr. Michael Chambers, the prison shrink who went to bat for you with the parole board, got you released three years early from prison.

Richie: You're wrong.

Ryan: You had a deal with Chambers. You had a deal -- your freedom in exchange for a pile of cash. I finally figured it out. You want Annie to kill you.

Richie: I don't want to die.

Ryan: Really? Then why is it you tried to get her to give you that vial of poison?

Richie: The pain got to me, and I had a bad day. I thought I wanted to end it, but I don't.

Ryan: It's all been leading up to this. Annie's testimony put you in prison, you want to do the same to her. You want to put her in prison, ruin her life, destroy our family, get revenge!

Richie: I love my sister.

Ryan: Come on, man. All of the time it took this genius plan -- don't you want to just shout it out to the world, tell everybody what kind of a twisted genius you are, don't you? I know you do, so go ahead. Go ahead and tell me everything. It's all here in black and white.

Richie: Those papers are obviously fake.

Ryan: Oh, come on, don't do that. Don't get lame on me now, not after such a sweet plan. It was -- it was a sweet plan. Really, I'm a little embarrassed that I didn't figure it out until now. You know, I couldn't figure out why a guy with a noose around his neck would kick the chair out from underneath him. I couldn't figure out why a guy would knock out a pilot who's flying a plane that we were all on, but now, it's so obvious -- because he wants to die.

Richie: But I don't.

Ryan: And you came close -- you really did. If Annie had just given you that poison, man, you would've had everything that you wanted. You would've had everything. But she didn't. She didn't kill you. And no one will. So if you think about it, you know, Annie kind of won, because she's got her freedom, she's got her family, she's got her long, incredible future ahead of her, and what do you have? Nothing.

Richie: You really are a cocky son of a bitch, aren't you?

Kendall: I don't need anyone giving me orders right now, Aidan. We have work to do -- come on.

Aidan: Look, Kendall, Ian is finally home after being in a hospital for months, all right? Spike has a major operation tomorrow -- why are you here?

Kendall: I -- I am doing what I have to do, what Zach would do.

Aidan: Listen, Kendall, stop. Listen to me for a second.

Kendall: No, no, no -- Zach would take care of the kids and me. He wouldn't doubt himself. He wouldn't fight tears every five minutes. Zach would not let the fear break him. He would not -- he would not let it break him!

Aidan: Look, I don't know who you think you're kidding right now, but that is not Zach that you just described -- it's you. All right? I know you, Kendall, and you are no weakling. You can handle anything, all right? And by going home to your sons is not going to change that. You don't need to be Zach right now, ok? You need to be you, and that means you need to be a mother that is there for her sons.

Kendall: Why should I believe one positive word out of your mouth? You hate what I did to Greenlee.

Aidan: Oh, I haven't forgotten that you set Greenlee up. And Greenlee is out there on the run because of you, but I'm going to set that right. But I need to be out there. I need to find Greenlee now, so go home and let me work.

Greenlee: I wonder which one of us is going to die first.

Zach: Oh, God. I'm going to answer that for you right now if you don't stop whining. "Get off your butt and keep working." You don't want to do that, either? What do you want to do? Just giving up the fight? Ok. It's perfect. Then sit down and shut up.

Greenlee: Zach, you found human remains in there.

Zach: So what?

Greenlee: So, you know, maybe you go digging for skeletons as a usual thing. You know what? I wouldn't be surprised, but me -- this is new to me! You found a hand in there! There's probably other parts, maybe a whole body, maybe more than one!

Zach: Just bones, Greenlee.

Greenlee: And that's supposed to make me feel better? Zach, somebody was buried in there, probably alive! Look at this -- that, right there -- that is your future -- face it! Face it!

Zach: Enough!

Joe: Those musical toys you got in Spike's room should be a big help.

Erica: I bought them. I'm going to make sure that Kendall and her boys have everything they need. In fact, Rachael, could you go check on them? And, Josh, would you mind?

Josh: Go to my room? Yeah.

Erica: The groceries, ok? Thanks.

Joe: Kendall must be very happy to have so much support.

Erica: Joe, I am way too busy for small talk. So if you can't admit what you did, why don't you just leave?

Joe: I'm not ashamed of what I did. You refused to tell Jackson that you tried to have Greenlee committed, so I did, as I told you I would.

Erica: You had no right.

Joe: She is Jackson's daughter. He had a need to know -- end of story.

Erica: "End of story" -- that's what you would like, wouldn't -- you would love it to be the end of the story for Jack and me. But you know what? That's never going to happen because Jack and I will always be connected.

Joe: You are still as self-absorbed and manipulative as you were with my son's heart all those years ago.

Erica: I am not remotely anything like I was back then, for several reasons. Number one, I found Jackson, the man I was destined to be with, and you resent the fact that I chose him over Jeff.

Joe: Tell Kendall to call if she needs anything.

Erica: She won't.

Josh: I couldn't help but overhearing --

Erica: Don't, Josh. Please, I -- I've had enough lectures for one day.

Josh: I'm on your side, Erica. You're supposed to protect your family no matter what -- I didn't get that before. But now I do.

Zach: What's the matter with you? A little while ago, you were climbing things trying to get out of here, and now what? Now you're throwing in the towel?

Greenlee: Those bones probably belong to the stupid guy who wrote those stupid letters. I deluded myself into thinking that he rode off into the sunset with the love of his life, but, no, he just died here dead and alone, just like we're going to be.

Zach: Is that how you see it?

Greenlee: Yeah, it's how I see it. Is there any other option? Fighting it -- it's just inevitable.

Zach: I'm fighting to get back to the people I love. You want to stay here and die, you just go ahead. Afraid I can't join you.

Kendall: Time-out, ok? You're right. You're right. I -- I lost myself for a second there. I -- I let the pressure get to me.

Aidan: Why don't you let me take some of the pressure off?

Kendall: Because that's Zach's job. He's the one who always reels me back in. He knows what I need before I do. Zach is always there for me -- he's always been. And I pushed him away.

Aidan: Now, listen. You've been under a lot of stress lately, all right?

Kendall: Aidan, I criticized my husband for caring about me. I -- I mocked him for trying to protect our family. Ok? I mean, the last word that I said to Zach was that I didn't need him and now he's missing.

Aidan: You know, it's not your fault, all right, that Zach disappeared, and you don't deserve to lose Zach any more than I deserve to lose Greenlee, but that is not what matters right now -- not while there's a little boy out there that needs his mum.

Kendall: Yes, but Zach needs me, too.

Aidan: Zach would want you to be with Spike -- you know that.

Kendall: And I will be, I will. When I go to the hospital first thing tomorrow, all of my energy will be focused on Spike, because when your child is in pain, nothing else exists.

Jack: Ms. McConnell, this is Jackson Montgomery -- Lily's father? Um -- I had a bit of a problem here and I -- I didn't know who else to call. I know you were Lily's favorite teacher at her old school, and I know you guys were quite close. Here's the situation. Lily is -- she's very upset and frankly I'm -- I'm at a loss as to what to do. If you could give me a call back first chance you get, I'd certainly appreciate it. Thanks.

Sean: She'll call back soon.

Jack: Well, let's hope. I take it the music didn't work, either? Ok. Now, maybe I should get back upstairs.

Jonathan: No, no -- hold no, no. Let's wait a few more minutes. I want to see if Ava has any luck with her.

Ava: Lily, life is so crazy right now, it's -- it's not even funny. I mean, J.R.'s in jail on some bogus charge. Greenlee should be in jail but she took off, and Kendall's husband, Zach, is missing. Fusion's practically a ghost town. Annie doesn't even show up, because her psycho brother's about to drop dead. Lily, I'm sorry. I should've left that part out. Lily, I -- I know what it's like to feel afraid and alone. And I don't want you to have to feel that ever. You don't deserve that. You deserve to be happy. I owe you so much. Lily, you can take anything you want from me -- anything. We could even switch places. You could take my life.

Lily: Take a life -- murder. Murder, murder.

Richie: Harassing a dying man -- that's good. Do you rob old ladies too?

Ryan: You're no victim, Richie. You're what we call a sociopath with a death wish. That makes you as dangerous as they come. So I will watch you every second of every day for the rest of your very short, pathetic, worthless life.

[Zach groans]

Greenlee: You would just love me to rot down here, huh? Eternal damnation -- that's what I deserve. It's why you played hockey with my dreams as your puck. Well, I was making new dreams with Aidan. He made me believe again. But not anymore, because it's all over. This is the end.

[Shovel clangs]

Zach: Time for you to be quiet.

Greenlee: If you gag me, that skeleton isn't going to be the only thing missing a hand.

Zach: I was going to blindfold you.

Greenlee: Right. Because that's going to make me forget that I'm stuck down here with you and sticks McGee?

Zach: I was going to blindfold you and buy you a drink.

Greenlee: Zach, this isn't a frat house, I'm not playing any drinking games. I just want to go home.

Zach: Well, you can't go home if I can't dig, and I can't dig if I have to baby-sit you.

Greenlee: You know, this isn't the first time I've been stuck with a corpse. I was in that cave with Jonathan when -- when his tumor made him put the bomb on his dead brother, Braden. I wasn't a baby then, I'm not one now. Uh-uh, no way. Fine. I mean, if I'm going to die, I might as well feel no pain. Right?

[Greenlee proceeds to drink out of a bottle of alcohol]

Aidan: Listen, Spike is going to pull through the surgery in great shape.

Kendall: I have failed my boys so many times, especially Spike. So tomorrow, before we go into that operating room, I want to make my son a promise. I want to look into his big, beautiful eyes and tell him that his dad is coming home. Now, can you help me keep that promise to my son?

Aidan: Now, I'm going to be rooting for Spike. You know that. But as far as this search goes, Greenlee is my priority.

Kendall: Well, at least you're honest.

Aidan: Look, if you hadn't have broken back in here with that crowbar, well, that sketch of your charm would've ended up in the trash. But instead, now we have strong evidence that Zach and Greenlee are together. You help me, I help you.

Kendall: Really?

Aidan: Listen, I will call you with updates every hour.

Kendall: Thank you. You hear that, Zach? You have the best guy looking for you. Greenlee's a lucky girl.

Aidan: No, I'm the lucky one. I'm going to find her, whatever it takes.

Erica: Jack is in complete denial about Greenlee. Please understand I first went to Jack, I begged him to get Greenlee the psychological help that she needs. And so yes, Jack and I have had disagreements about that, but we were working through it -- until Joe stuck his sanctimonious nose where it didn't belong.

Josh: Yeah, it was none of Joe's business. It sucks he ratted you out.

Erica: Well, the sabotage is just a minor setback. But it is extremely insulting and frustrating to constantly have my motives questioned.

Josh: Especially when you're trying to do the right thing.

Erica: To protect my family.

Josh: Which sometimes means going to extremes.

Erica: Which isn't always pleasant, but it is necessary.

Josh: And you weren't trying to hurt Greenlee, you were just trying to keep her away from Kendall and hurting her family.

Erica: Exactly -- and to get her the help she needs.

Josh: Yeah, and if Jackson can't see that, then that's his problem.

Erica: If Greenlee had been away, Kendall would've dropped her revenge plan, and -- and his daughter and mine would be safe, and our families could even be starting to heal.

Josh: And this isn't the first time that Jackson refused to listen to you about one of his kids, right? I mean, didn't he try to have Lily declared incompetent?

Erica: You really are my son, aren't you?

Josh: For better or worse. But even Kanes can be wrong sometimes.

Erica: What do you mean?

Josh: Well, if you want Jackson back, this has to be one of those times.

Jack: Hey, Julia, it's Jack. I got your message. Thanks so much for calling. There's no change with Lily at all yet, I'm afraid. But I do appreciate your support. It means a lot.

Jonathan: Hi. Lily? You are safe now, ok? No one is going to hurt you. I know that we haven't been a -- a team in a long time, but we used to be a pretty good one, right? See, what I'm trying to do right now is I'm trying to act like you and solve the mystery of why you're upset. But I'm not as good as you. I need more clues. Hey, do you think you could help me with that?

Lily: "The murder's going to happen."

Jonathan: "The murder's --" that's not something that you heard on TV, is it?

Lily: Richard -- Richard and I were supposed to have a date.

Jonathan: A date?

Lily: Yes, I -- I met him at the Yacht Club, and he wanted me to sit with him, because he is new to town and doesn't have many friends.

Jonathan: Lily -- hey, you're doing a really good job, ok? Tell me some more.

Lily: Richard and I have a lot in common -- he likes numbers, and he doesn't like to be touched.

Jonathan: He -- he said that?

Lily: Yes, and Richard said I was very nice, and he wanted to see me again, but he didn't show up for our date. And now he is on the fifth floor of the hospital for some disease that I don't know the name of. And the murder's going to happen just the way that Richard laid it out.

Jonathan: Oh, my God. Lily -- Lily, is this "Richard"? It is, isn't it? Ok, hey, listen to me. Hey, I know about this murder, and it is not going to happen. Ok? Lily, no one is going to get hurt, and that's the truth. You can believe me.

Lily: Richard and I were supposed to have a date, but he forgot, he forgot about me. He's not my boyfriend, no boyfriend.

Richie: Since you said it's just the two of us, let's stop denying what we both know is true.

Ryan: Than you're busted?

Richie: That you're afraid.

Ryan: You just keep telling yourself that.

Richie: Not of me, of Annie. My sister's always been unstable, but now she's just there on the edge. With one little push -- oh!

[Richie smacks hands]

Richie: Right over.

Ryan: You will never be able to go after Annie again.

Richie: Well, that's the beauty of it -- she'll come to me. She'll take her shot, and then she'll look to her big, strong hero to save the day, but it'll be too late. You'll sit in that courtroom, and you'll watch them take her away. You'll stay up nights, thinking of her alone in that cage. And wherever I am, I'll think of her, too -- and I'll smile.

Ryan: Joe, I need you to help me.

Josh: Three words -- "Jack, I'm sorry."

Erica: That would be a lie. I still think that Greenlee desperately needs psychiatric help. But I -- I am sorry that I forged the papers.

Josh: Yeah, I've been where Jack is now. Put up this big brick wall when someone was trying to reach me. It was because I was angry and scared. And it took me a long time to come around. But that person did what they needed to do. They cared enough, they didn't give up, and because of it, we're in a really good place.

Erica: Thank you, Josh. Oh, you have no idea how much it means to me to hear you say this, to know that you care. And I really appreciate your concern. But I --

Josh: There are no "buts," Erica. Just make the first move, apologize, he'll do the rest.

Erica: I wish it was that simple.

Josh: It is that simple if both of you want the same thing. Don't you think he wants you as much as you want him?

[Jack accidentally drops his and Erica's wedding photo]

Jack: Damn it.

Jonathan: Lily, I'm so sorry that you got hurt. You know that only a fool would do that, though, because only a fool wouldn't be able to tell, can't see how incredible you are. Lily, you have so much love to give, and your love -- your love is not like anyone else's, Lily, because it's pure. And someday you're going to find a man that's worthy of all that love. But until then, you have so many people that love you right now. You have your dad, you have Sean, you have Ava, who loves you very much -- you have me. Lily, you -- you have helped me so much. You have -- you have shown me things, and you have taught me things that nobody else ever could. I know that we're not the same anymore, but I hope that I can depend on you, Lily, because I need that. And believe me, you can depend on me.

Joe: Richie has already had a complete psychiatric evaluation.

Ryan: Joe, I'm telling you that this guy is a danger to himself and to others and I can prove it, ok? I can also stop him, if you help me.

Joe: Uh-huh. So, what is it you want me to do?

Ryan: Well, the hospital's got to have options for dealing with mentally ill patients, right?

Joe: Out of the question.

Ryan: Joe, Joe, Joe, just trust me, please? Just trust me, you'd be saving a life here. Just -- just hear me out, ok? That's all I ask.

Joe: It's for your own safety.

Richie: I really appreciate this, doc. I've been feeling like a sitting duck in there lately.

Joe: Well, we can't have sitting ducks, can we? Go ahead.

Jonathan: Hi. So, Lily is feeling much better now. We solved the mystery. She knows that she's safe -- and that there won't be any murder.

Richie: Um -- dude, I think you took a wrong turn somewhere.

Janet: Well, aren't you a dreamboat. Janet Dillon, hostess with the mostest.

Greenlee: It's official -- I'm in hell.

Zach: Keep drinking, maybe you'll pass out.

Greenlee: That's what I love about you, Zach -- you're so damn sensitive. I mean, what you know about women, you could probably fill a thimble.

Zach: Why don't you help me? What should I do right now? How do I make you shut up?

Greenlee: I just want some reassurance, you know? Stop telling me to shut up and get loaded.

Zach: What do you suggest I do?

Greenlee: I don't suggest you do anything, forget it. I just want to be with Aidan. I just want to be wherever he is.

Zach: Ok. Then get there.

Greenlee: I will.

[Greenlee wraps her scarf around her eyes]

Greenlee: I'm coming back to you, Aidan. I am. And we're going to have a life together. We will.

Josh: Now, I know that wasn't a look of doubt on your face. You cannot question how much Jackson loves you.

Erica: No, that -- that would be silly, wouldn't it?

Josh: Absolutely.

Erica: Yes, after all we've been through.

Kendall: I will be ok. Zach will be ok. Spike will be ok.

Erica: Kendall, is that you?

Kendall: Yeah, Mom, I'm home. Everything's fine. I'll be right in. Zach will be home, too. I know it.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Jonathan (to Ava): I know all about your visits to J.R.'s jail cell.

Tad (to Krystal): I don't have a choice. Last night was it -- I'm suing you for custody of Jenny.

Adam: I think I've discovered Tad Martin's missing daughter.
