Erica's voice: Precious, precious angel. You're getting stronger and more beautiful every day. You're going home soon. Home to your mommy, who will move heaven and earth to keep you safe. Kendall fought like a tiger to protect your big brother from Greenlee. Now it's my turn to fight for her. I'll do whatever it takes to protect her. That's how families survive.

[Erica gasps when Opal waves her hand in front of her face as she looks through the glass at the baby in the hospital's NICU]

Opal: Oh.

Erica: Don't do that.

Opal: Oh, well, I'm sorry. I've been waving my arms like a banshee here. Uh -- oh, gosh, I guess your nerves are really, really shot, huh? And poor Kendall -- she must be on a razor's edge.

Erica: No, no, no, she's fine. We're all fine. It's over.

Opal: How do you figure that? I mean, your stepdaughter is exposed as a kidnapping loon. Whatever possessed Greenlee to go after Kendall's boy again?

Erica: Look, I -- I -- I don't want to talk about it anymore.

Opal: Well, you sure did a pretty good job talking it up with that press conference of yours.

Erica: Opal, really. There's nothing more to say that you don't already know.

Opal: You know, I've watched you snow the best of them, honey, but you can't snow me.

Erica: I am not trying to snow you, Opal. Really, I just -- I have no idea what you're talking about.

Opal: The real deal. Maybe you want to bury it -- that's fine, but first, come on, share it with me.

Jack: Thank you. Greenlee? Tell me Aidan misunderstood you.

Greenlee: Uh -- no. Aidan got it right.

Jack: Ok, then tell me you had a moment of despair, but you've come back from that?

Greenlee: Despair, acceptance, resignation -- call it whatever you want. I'm there.

Jack: Greenlee, I cannot let you enter a plea of guilty for a crime you didn't commit.

Greenlee: Jack, I'm not going to fight this. I am so tired of fighting. Please, don't make me fight you, too.

Jack: Please, please, please listen to me. Listen to me, you can't --

Greenlee: No, you're not going to change my mind, ok? I am pleading guilty, I am taking the deal. I'm going to prison, period.

Aidan: Whoa.

Tad: Hello to you, too. You look like you need a drink.

Aidan: Yeah, that'll fix everything, right?

Tad: Look, I'm really sorry about what happened with Greenlee, but there's got to be some kind of psychiatric defense, right?

Aidan: Yeah -- Greenlee's defense is she's innocent.

Tad: Yeah, ok.

Aidan: Look, Zach and Kendall set her up.

Tad: Come on, Fish and Chips, why would they do something like that?

Aidan: I don't have time to explain ho-- how paranoid Zach and Kendall are, all right? All you need to know right now is I'm breaking Greenlee out.

Ryan: What the hell did you do? Tell me.

Zach: Why don't you take it down a notch.

Ryan: Don't try to manage me, Zach.

Zach: You're in our home. Hey, use your indoor voice, all right?

Ryan: I'm not going anywhere until you two come clean.

Zach: Meaning what?

Ryan: Meaning I was just at the jail, and I saw Greenlee, and she had a lot to say about the two of you.

Zach: I can imagine.

Ryan: She had some pretty big allegations involving you and your wife, and I want the truth.

Zach: What truth is that? That Spike is safe or that you should be relieved?

Ryan: She said that you two set her up.

Zach: I see.

Ryan: And you know, I didn't believe her at first. But then part of the story kind of backed up on me -- the part that was so over the top that not even Greenlee could make it up. Her embryos, Zach -- the embryos that you destroyed in the blackout, the blackout that you caused. Did you trick her into thinking that you still had them? Did you use them as bait to reel her in?

Zach: You tell me.

Ryan: Look, I know you're not a choir boy, Zach, and you never were, but -- could you be that cruel?

Opal: How long have you and me been whispering our secrets into each other's ears, huh? Come on. I mean, you can -- you know, you don't have to be reminded that confiding in me is like confessing to a priest. Well, ok -- a very sexy priest who gives a great perm.

Erica: Really, Opal, I'm just -- I'm not at liberty to discuss the details.

Opal: Well, to the world, no, but to me -- I mean, when did you stop trusting me, honey?

Erica: No, I trust you. It's just that there are these legal issues.

Opal: Well, not for you, they're not. I mean, you're not a witness to the crime. You didn't actually see Greenlee, you know, snatch Spike from the park either time. All that legal stuff is Jack's department. Oh, of course -- Jack. Oh, that is a whole other bucket of squirrels, isn't it? You're damned if you speak and damned if you don't.

Erica: Oh, Opal, you have no idea.

Opal: Well, I can see your knickers are in a knot. Now I can partly guess why.

Erica: Look, I -- I tried to sweep Greenlee out of the picture before it ever came to this.

Opal: But sweep her where -- into the subbasement of Hades?

Erica: No, I was trying to be fair. I was trying to get her the help she so desperately needs.

Opal: Well, that's very saintly of you, considering, I mean.

Erica: Well, Jack really adores his daughter. But her life is just -- it's a catastrophe.

Opal: But whose fault is that?

Erica: It's complicated.

Opal: No, I think it's simple as pie. I mean, either Greenlee snatched Spike from the park or she did not. Which is it?

Erica: It's open to interpretation.

Opal: I'm hearing that as a no. So, the bottom line -- you could clear Jackson's daughter but you're not going to?

Jack: Greenlee, Kendall did this to you. She set you up, she framed you. You're not going to let her win like this.

Greenlee: She already has.

Jack: No, we haven't even started, honey. I will take that story of hers, and I will crack it into a million pieces.

Greenlee: She's not going to crack. She's going to get up there, and she's going to tell the truth as she sees it, that I'm guilty because I made Spike deaf.

Jack: But you're not, you're innocent. You didn't drug her with chloroform, you didn't snatch Spike from her arms.

Greenlee: That's just a minor detail.

Jack: Greenlee, I promise you I will put Kendall on that stand, and I will break her.

Greenlee: No. I can't listen to her talk about how much she despises me. I can't bear to see her hatred in her eyes.

Jack: That's exactly what the jury needs to see. They need to see that hatred, so they can understand why she framed you. Look, the truth is --

Greenlee: No --

Jack: You are the victim here.

Greenlee: The truth is that everyone except you and Aidan thinks I'm lower than dirt!

Jack: No, that's not true.

Greenlee: Dad, I'm going to go to prison for three to six years. What else am I going to do with my life, hang out with my warm, close circle of friends? Run a company with a partner who hates me? Fall for more science-fiction scams?

Jack: What are you talking about?

Greenlee: You know how I told you that my embryos supposedly survived the blackout?

Jack: Yes.

Greenlee: Well, they didn't. Zach was just playing a little trick.

Jack: Go on.

Greenlee: Zach primed J.R. to fire me up about snowflake babies that don't exist.

Jack: Oh, my God -- why? I mean, what -- what was the point?

Greenlee: I was supposed to trade half my share of Fusion for another chance of having Ryan's baby. This was Zach's way of protecting his wife from daily exposure to toxic me.

Jack: Well, we're not going to let Zach and J.R. get away with that. We're going to expose this twisted plan.

Greenlee: No, because neither one of them is going to confess. No one's ever going to believe this.

Jack: Greenlee, give me a chance to make this case.

Greenlee: Dad, I -- I told Ryan what happened. He looked at me like I'm mad. Ryan, who used to adore me, thinks I am criminally insane. Kendall, who used to adore me -- she would prefer that I rot in hell.

Jack: And I will put Ryan and Kendall on the stand, and I will take them apart fact by fact --

Greenlee: No, because there are too many facts that make me guilty. There are too many people who will testify that I'm crazy -- Zach, J.R., Erica. They're going to crucify me. Day after day, they will shred me to pieces until the jury finds me guilty and sends me to jail anyway, and God knows for how long if I don't take the plea!

Jack: I'm not going to let you roll over for these people.

Greenlee: Well, I'm sorry but you don't have a say. It's over. I'm finished. I'm not going to trial.

Aidan: Look, the evidence against Greenlee is fabricated, all right? It's fabricated, and brilliantly so. On the surface, it's air-tight.

Tad: Ok, say that that is true. Let's not forget, she actually has history with Spike here. I hate to tell you, man, but I don't think that, you know, bail's going to be an option here.

Aidan: Look, remanded to immediate custody, all right? I can't let that happen. Greenlee's arraignment is in less than an hour, and we need to come up with something fast.

Tad: "We"?

Aidan: Well, yeah. I assume that you're with me on this, Tad. Can I count on you?

Ryan: So Greenlee is telling the truth? You tricked her into thinking that her embryos were still around?

Zach: I'm not interested in discussing Greenlee or her threats or her claims or theories.

Ryan: No, you don't get off that easy, Zach. You crossed a whole new line here, even for you.

Zach: She crossed a lot of lines herself, didn't she?

Ryan: Yeah, but you didn't just make a clean attack on Greenlee. You used me to do it. You worked her dreams for my child.

Zach: Well, dreams are not reality, Ryan.

Ryan: What if I told you that Ethan was still alive, that somebody else was buried there, and that with my help, you could find him? I mean, how sadistic would that make me?

Kendall: Ryan, just stop it.

Zach: Are you equating my son with Greenlee's fertilized egg?

Ryan: No, I'm talking about losses here, Zach -- life-altering losses, people, hopes, and dreams. I mean, you know what Greenlee and I went through. How could you possibly bring either one of us back there again?

Zach: That is a very sad story you're telling yourself. But you're leaving out a big part of it -- where a little boy was hurt by Greenlee.

Ryan: You don't have to tell me what she did to my son.

Zach: What I'm telling you is what I'm doing for my family. And right now, my family includes your son.

Ryan: So you admit it, then?

Zach: Admit what? That I want Greenlee in prison? No, I would've settled for her leaving town.

Ryan: Yeah, I would've settled for that, too.

Zach: There you go -- I took my best shot. You should be thanking me.

Ryan: And what about you? You ok with this? I mean, knowing what it meant to Greenlee to have my child -- was it that much fun pretending to be her friend again, snapping and watching her jump?

Kendall: Ryan, you don't understand what I was doing --

Zach: You don't have to explain yourself, it's not necessary.

Ryan: No, I'm -- is that -- is that how you feel? Using one of the most painful periods of our life just -- just so Greenlee would rot?

Zach: No, you're right. You know what we should do? Let's erect a statue in her honor with a kidnapped child in one hand and your bleeding heart in the other. Why don't we do that?

Ryan: You hooked Greenlee using me and your phony embryo trail, and you -- you trapped her using my son. And if the truth comes out, he grows up with his mother in prison.

Jack: Kendall and Zach have beaten you down, they have bullied you into submission. Now, you need to stand up, and you need to fight back, you need to let me fight for you.

Greenlee: No, I told you -- the fight is over.

Jack: No, Greenlee, it can't be, I'm not going to let it be -- you're innocent.

Greenlee: No, I am not. I took Spike, I put him in the back of my car, I drove away. Because of me, Spike is hurt. Because of me, Ian was born too soon. Those babies are damaged. It's my fault. I didn't mean to do it, but that doesn't change anything.

Jack: Greenlee, listen to me. There is not one human being on this earth who hasn't hurt somebody. There's not one man or one woman who hasn't made a serious mistake. I love you, and I'm not going to stand by and watch you do this to yourself.

Greenlee: Thank you for loving me.

Jack: It doesn't take a great effort on my part.

Greenlee: I'm not that easy to love.

Jack: No, you're not. But you are worth the trouble.

Greenlee: Jack, don't worry about me. I'm going to be fine. I -- I know what I'm doing. I just -- I -- I wish I could make you understand.

Jack: I'll tell you what I understand. I understand that you need your father now more than you ever have. Greenlee, I wasn't there to push you on the swing or to teach you how to ride a bicycle. I wasn't there to scrutinize your prom date or to stay up late to make sure you got home safely --

Greenlee: Dad, I --

Jack: But I am here now. I'm here now to help you stand up to these bullies. And these bullies -- they had better watch out.

Ryan: You claim to cherish your children more than anything else.

Kendall: "Claim"?

Ryan: You knowingly put Spike's future at risk by --

Zach: Back off!

Ryan: "Back off"? Spike's entire life depends on this. No little boy should grow up with his mother in maximum security.

Zach: And that's not going to happen.

Ryan: It is going to happen if the truth gets exposed. That is what is going to happen -- Spike will grow up without his mother, and so will Ian. I'm -- where do you stand?

Zach: I stand by my wife. I'll protect her. She didn't do anything wrong.

Ryan: Stick to the story -- that's your plan?

Zach: That's the plan.

[Spike cries]

Kendall: Spike is awake. Don't make this any worse, please.

Zach: Ay-yi-yi. I shouldn't have to tell you this, but don't threaten my wife.

Ryan: I'm not afraid of you, Zach, so you can spare the tough-guy routine. The truth is the threat, not me, and don't ever pull anything like that on me or Greenlee again.

Zach: Greenlee? You really want to do this, you and me?

Ryan: What do you got for me, Zach? What, your personal theory of justice?

Zach: I got this. And one night, the evil woman took the little boy and drove off into the darkness, away from his father, his mother, and his home. And the next thing he remembered is waking up at the bottom of a ravine covered in blood, shrouded in silence.

Ryan: Shut up.

Zach: That is where my personal theory of justice comes in. What about you? You ok with what Greenlee did to you, to us? You ok with that? I haven't even told you about cutting his head open and putting in --

Ryan: Enough!

Zach: It is enough! It's all we talked about in the hospital -- you and me, night after night, watching our boys fight for their lives. We said it's enough. But it isn't, is it? Now you want to make sure that their mother goes away, too, right?

Ryan: That's not what I said, that is not what I said. If Kendall gets caught, if Spike grows up without his mother, that's not going to be because of me. That's going to be because you two put everything on the line for revenge.

Zach: Revenge? Very tempting, but for the most part, it's not worth it. You know what is worth it? What is worth it every time is making sure that predators stay away from your wife and your children -- and if I understood that, you put the noose around Richie's neck.

Ryan: Which accomplished absolutely nothing.

Zach: Right. Richie's still out there, Greenlee isn't. You know why? One noose was better than the other. It doesn't matter, whatever. You know what? Let's just agree to disagree. We do have one thing in common. You, me, Annie, Kendall -- we want the best for our kids.

Ryan: This is not settled, Zach.

Zach: It's settled.

Erica: How could I possibly save Greenlee when you yourself said I wasn't a witness to any of the crimes.

Opal: Uh-huh. But you used the word "complicated," which is Erica-speak for you're hiding something.

Erica: I am just not privy to every detail -- I mean, Jack's defense strategy, for example. That is a complete mystery to me.

Opal: Why? What, because you're on Kendall's side, or maybe because you confessed to the press that Greenlee should be under lock and key?

Erica: I said no such thing.

Opal: Oh, sure, you did in your own little way, and, look, if I can translate it, so can Jack. What happens now?

Erica: I have no idea. Consult the cards.

Opal: Oh, I would be shuffling the tarot right this minute if I had a deck on me, but I don't. Well, in my mind I'm kind of seeing the 3 of swords.

Erica: Well, what does that mean?

Opal: It means somebody stabbed somebody in the heart.

Erica: Well, Jack and I have had our rough patches before, but we've always come through them, and we always will. And as for backstabbing -- I mean, Jack's heart is in a lot of pain, because his daughter Greenlee had such an awful life.

Opal: Yeah, and you could help his daughter Greenlee if you wanted. But you don't, so meaning trouble ahead.

Erica: You are not reading this correctly at all. And anyhow, you're not a psychic -- you need your cards.

Opal: Whatever you say.

Erica: Jack and I are connected forever. I will always love him, and he will always love me. What? Well, why don't you just come right out and say it?

Opal: Jack will love you forever. That is, until you push him too far, and he stops.

Jack: Greenlee, we are going to make it through this. You're going to let me help you, and you're going to be fine.

Greenlee: What about Erica? You love her, you -- you could lose her over this.

Jack: Erica's not relevant here. You are my focus, I'm going to clear my daughter of all criminal charges.

Greenlee: And trash your personal life.

Jack: You come first now. Only you. You're my priority, as well as my client.

Greenlee: I'm still pleading guilty.

Jack: As your attorney, I won't allow you to do that, Greenlee.

Greenlee: Well, then as of this moment, you're no longer my attorney.

Jack: You can't do that.

Greenlee: You're fired, Jack, effective immediately.

Jack: Ok. Well, you can fire your lawyer, but you can't fire your father. Your father's staying on.

Greenlee: I can't deal with my father right now, and, um -- it would be best if my father could just leave me alone. So if you could just go, because we're done here, please? Please?

Aidan: It won't be easy, but it can be done. So you with me on this, or am I wasting my breath?

Tad: Two words -- "aiding" and "abetting."

Aidan: Tad --

Tad: Sounds like fun. When do we get started?

Aidan: Oh, you --

Tad: [British accent] Don't get all sloppy on me. It's not like we're taking windy walks or nothing.

Aidan: The Dawson case --

Tad: [Normal voice] Dawson?

Aidan: We did last year -- yeah, yeah -- you remember it?

Tad: Yeah -- pandemonium, courtesy of you and me. What about it?

Aidan: Well, mostly you, with your bells and whistles, but do you think we can pull it off again?

Tad: No.

Aidan: What?

Tad: Probably do it better.

Zach: Spike seems happy, and we'll keep him happy, won't we?

Ryan: Yes, we will -- despite the odds stacked against him by the two of you.

Rachael: Spike's dinner's ready -- pasta, his favorite.

Ryan: Oh! Num! It's his dad's favorite, too, by the way.

Kendall: Look, Ryan, if you think this is easy for me, it's not.

Ryan: And I'm supposed to feel sorry for you?

Zach: You don't think Kendall has suffered at all? You want to see the list again?

Ryan: No, I know the list by heart.

Zach: Doesn't cut ice with you, huh?

Ryan: People are gathering evidence. Some of it could lead to the two of you, and now I am forced to cover for you and send an innocent woman to prison.

Zach: And you think that's a bad thing?

Ryan: And you don't, Zach, and that is the difference between you and me.

[Phone rings]

Kendall: Hello?

Jack: Kendall. Can you live with what you're doing to my daughter?

Kendall: I -- I can't do this right now.

Jack: Listen to me. Greenlee has given up. She plans to plead guilty.

Kendall: Why?

Jack: "Why"? Because you've crushed her, that's why. Now, I ask you again, can you live with yourself?

Kendall: It's her decision.

Jack: Kendall, search your conscience, because my daughter's life is over unless you step up and do the right thing. I'm not attacking you. I'm begging you, do not turn your back on Greenlee. Look, I -- I love you like you're my own daughter, and I know that you're a good person.

Kendall: This is not really a good time.

Jack: Look, I understand that you're afraid, I understand that. I will help you, ok? I will represent you. Have you ever known me to break my word?

Zach: Who is that?

Kendall: I -- I've got it.

Jack: You're not alone.

Kendall: You know what? Can we do this later?

Jack: There is no "later." There is no "later." Greenlee's arraignment is in half an hour. Will you be there?

Kendall: I have to go.

Zach: Who was that?

Greenlee: Hi.

Aidan: It's all arranged.

Greenlee: What do I have to do?

Aidan: I've got you covered. Just -- just go with the flow.

Greenlee: Aidan, I'm not really good at that.

Aidan: You're going to be fine. Ok? Just follow my lead.

Greenlee: You make it sound so simple when in reality it's --

Aidan: Greenlee, look at me. Trust me. You understand what you have to do, right?

Greenlee: Yeah -- plead guilty. I fired my father. It killed him, it ripped his heart out. I hated every second of it. It's worse than these bars closing in on me.

Aidan: Later on, he will understand. When this all plays out, he's going to be glad.

Greenlee: "When this all plays out"? How hard is this going to be?

Aidan: Can you handle this, Greenlee?

Greenlee: Yeah. With you, I can handle anything.

[Ian vocalizes]

Erica: Hello, my very precious, handsome prince, hello.

Nurse: Would you like to hold him?

Erica: Well, am -- am I allowed?

Nurse: You're Mrs. Slater's mother, aren't you?

Erica: Yes.

Nurse: That's immediate family -- Dr. Delano has expanded the list.

Erica: Oh, I would love to hold him now. Oh, you are a Kane baby through and through. Oh, I was hoping for this moment. I just couldn't wait till I could hold you, and we could bond. And I would look into your eyes, and you would look into mine, and we would know each other.

[Ian vocalizes]

Erica: Yes. Oh, I just get the feeling out of everybody in the Kane family, that you are the most like me. I mean, you are brave and you are strong, just like all the Kanes. But I just get a feeling about you, something extra.

[Ian vocalizes]

Erica: Yeah. Oh, you are totally fearless, just like me. Yes, you are. Yes, you are, my special boy. Oh, you are a very special boy. Oh, that baby is a miracle, just a tiny hero.

Opal: Oh, I know, I know, and seeing the two of you together really gets my heart thumping. You -- you are a real guardian angel to your kin, you know it?

Erica: Oh, well, that's what family is for.

Opal: Hmm. Is Jack still a part of your family?

Erica: Always, of course. Always and forever -- even if we're not still legally married.

Opal: Hmm. So where does Greenlee fit into that, Erica?

Erica: Greenlee is another matter entirely.

Opal: Well, not to Jack -- she is his daughter, honey.

Erica: Much to his misfortune, I must say.

Opal: Well, that may be, but if you love Jack the way you say you do --

Erica: "If"? Are you kidding me? What -- what are you saying? You know I love Jack, you know he means the world to me.

Opal: Yeah -- just like Greenlee means the world to Jack. Do you see where I'm going with this?

Erica: But Greenlee is a blight on Jackson's life and every life she touches.

Opal: So you're selling her down the river?

Erica: Ok, look, I really have to get back to work. We'll do lunch.

Joe: Erica? I was just about to call you. I have learned something that we need to talk about.

Erica: Well, I actually already know the news, Joe, and it's so wonderful. Dr. Delano has expanded Ian's contact circle, and so I held him. I just held him for the first time, and I'm just -- I'm floating on air.

Joe: Yes, Ian's progress has been remarkable. But I have something else, something serious we need to discuss.

Greenlee: Hold me like this forever?

Aidan: Not through these bars I won't. The next time I hold you, Greenlee, you're going to be free.

Greenlee: Aidan, I am so afraid.

Aidan: Greenlee, look at me. Believe in me, ok? I'm not going to let you down. When you leave that courtroom, it's not going to be with a guard. I'm going to be behind you, supporting you every step of the way. Nothing that happens in that courtroom can tear us apart, as long as you believe in the future as much as I do. All right, no matter how scared you are, just believe that we're going to be together again, and that we're going to have a life. The day that you're free, we're going to celebrate with champagne and stout and make another elixir. So, look beyond these bars and look beyond the arraignment, and just imagine the light, a very big light. That's going to be the signal of all the good things to come. So focus on that light, and know that it's going to get closer and closer with every tick of the clock.

Zach: That wasn't a business call, was it?

Kendall: It was Jackson.

Zach: Well, you didn't have to talk to him.

Ryan: What'd he say?

Kendall: Greenlee's hearing starts in a matter of minutes.

Zach: They don't need your testimony until the trial.

Kendall: Well, there's not going to be any trial, because she pleaded guilty.

Ryan: What? Why the hell would she do that?

Zach: She got some residual feelings about the little boy maybe.

Ryan: That doesn't make any sense.

Zach: Makes sense to me.

Kendall: Rachael?

Ryan: Where is -- where is Aidan in all this? Does -- does he know what Greenlee's doing?

Kendall: I don't know.

Ryan: What about Jack? What did he want?

Kendall: I don't know.

Rachael: Spike's ready for his bath.

Kendall: Yeah, I know. Can you do it for me? That -- that would be great. I've got to go somewhere.

Rachael: Sure, no problem.

Kendall: Ok, thanks.

Rachael: Ok.

Zach: Where are you going?

Kendall: I -- I've got to go to the hearing.

Zach: Kendall --

Kendall: No, Zach, don't try to stop me, it's a waste of time. I have to do this. I know what I'm doing.

Erica: Joe, you're scaring me. Has something gone wrong with Spike?

Joe: Spike? No. As far as I know, Spike's condition has not changed.

Erica: Oh.

Joe: I mean, surgery is going off as scheduled.

Erica: Yeah, good. Well, then what could be wrong?

Joe: What's wrong is your little plot with Adam Chandler -- I just learned about it. I'm appalled.

Erica: Well, I have no idea what you're talking about.

Joe: Erica, Adam Chandler is a warped human being. I never considered you in his league.

Erica: Well, thank you, Joe, I should hope not. So, clearly, there must be some misunderstanding.

Joe: There's no misunderstanding. You tried to get revenge on Greenlee, and you were helped by an old, experienced hand.

Erica: Look, Greenlee is her own worst enemy. Whatever it is you think you know, you're mistaken.

Joe: I know that you recruited Adam's help in having Jack's daughter committed.

Bailiff: All rise. This court is now in session, Judge Alice Myatt presiding.

Judge: Be seated. In the matter of the Commonwealth vs. Greenlee Smythe, I understand a plea agreement has been reached. Is that correct?

D.A.: It is, your honor.

Judge: Ms. Smythe, has your counsel been detained?

Greenlee: No, your honor, I'm representing myself.

Judge: Ms. Smythe, you are facing serious charges. Are you sure you don't want counsel?

Jack: Permission to address the court, please?

Judge: And you would be?

Jack: Jackson Montgomery, Ms. Smythe's attorney until about 30 minutes ago.

Greenlee: Don't do this, Daddy.

Jack: And her father -- a tenured position that gives me some insight as to the defendant's state of mind.

Greenlee: Please sit down.

Jack: Your honor, Ms. Smythe is traumatized. She is in shock and certainly in no condition to represent herself in the matter before the court.

Greenlee: I'm fine.

Jack: You are anything but fine.

Judge: Ms. Smythe, Mr. Montgomery, approach the bench.

Jack: Your honor, Ms. Smythe representing herself would be tantamount to a guaranteed situation where --

[Phone rings]

Aidan: Devane.

Tad: [British accent] Hello, darling. We have liftoff.

Aidan: I'm on my way.

[Ryan stops Aidan at the door]

Judge: In the opinion of this court, the defendant appears to be in a rational state of mind capable of comprehending and participating in these proceedings. Do you understand these charges?

[Greenlee turns around and sees Kendall and Zach enter the courtroom]

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Krystal (to Adam): Don't make me love you again.

Aidan: You know what you should do, Ryan. The question is, can you do it?

Judge: Bailiff, remove the prisoner!
