Jonathan: What the hell is this?
Rachael: Kendall, it's not my day off, so --
Kendall: No, no, you go, and you be with your mother. She needs you, Rachael.
Rachael: Thank you. And if you or Spike need anything, just call, please?
Kendall: Yes, ok. I think Spikey and I will be just fine.
Kendall: Ok. Bye. All right. That's right, my sweet boy, we are going to be just fine. Mommy will make sure of it. You know, honey, I haven't forgotten what Greenlee did to you. I know I'm putting on a pretty good show, but I haven't forgotten. I'm going to make sure that she does not get away with what she did to you. She's going to get what she deserves. And so are you. You know what that's called? That's called justice.
Jack: What is he doing here?
Richie: I never got a chance to tell my side of the story.
Man: This is the victim and nobody took his statement?
Lt. Perry: Trust me, we don't need it.
Man: I'll be the judge of that.
Lt. Perry: Oh. A police eyewitness account? More than enough. When we walked in, the guy was hanging by his neck.
Man: Is that true? These men string you up?
Richie: The police only got half the story. Ahem. I'm here to fill in the rest.
J.R.: Whoa. I realize you liked it rough -- take it easy.
Ava: Shut up. Now say it again.
J.R.: I got the money.
Ava: You better not be kidding with me right now.
J.R.: The cash is ours. The network is good to go.
Ava: Holy crap! You serious? How? Who? You know what? You know what, I don't care. You know what? All I care about is I'm going to be a huge star, better than Britney.
J.R.: Just keep your underwear on, ok?
Ava: And -- and forget Fusion. I'm going to be the face of everything fabulous.
J.R.: I don't know what it is, but everyone and every media outlet is drawn to you.
Ava: Well, can you blame them? I have "it."
J.R.: Together, we're going to use it.
Ava: I can't belie this is happening right now.
J.R.: No, no, no, no. We need to keep this network on the wraps, just until it's ready.
Ava: Ok, well, why didn't you say so? Oh, my God -- this is going to be incredible. This is what I've always wanted. Imagine helicopters outside my wedding and paparazzi camped out outside trying to get a shot. And you know, we'll just do what every other celebrity does. Just invite their friends over for a barbecue, and then surprise -- we get hitched. What?
J.R.: I just gave you the opportunity of a lifetime, and you want to blow it by marrying psycho boy?
Lt. Perry: I'm ready to take your statement.
Jonathan: Whoa, no, no, no. Hold on -- you're not seriously going to listen to this guy, are you?
Annie: Jonathan, don't.
Jonathan: Hey, hi. Yeah, remember me? We met at The Comeback. You apologized to me for hitting on my girlfriend. Pretended to be a decent guy.
Aidan: Yeah, well, he's very good at pretending.
Jonathan: Who in the hell do you think you are, playing mind games with Annie, and running off with my niece?
Richie: It was my niece, too.
Ryan: You son of a --
Annie: Ryan --
Zach: You're in enough trouble as it is.
Man: All right, knock it off. Do I need to remind you two that you were the ones who were arrested? This is your arraignment, not his.
Jack: You know, this is very quickly becoming a circus, now, isn't it?
Man: What do you want me to do? In order to proceed, we need Mr. Novak's statement.
Jack: Well, under the circumstances, I think I should be present for that.
Ryan: Doesn't make a difference, Jack. Richie, or Wes, or whatever he's going to call himself can spin the story any way he wants. It won't change the fact that only Aidan and I know the truth. All of it.
Richie: Let them go.
Richie: They didn't try to kill me. They didn't do anything wrong.
Kendall: So, Spikey, I bet you're wondering how I'm going to get this justice that I've been talking about. Ok, well, it starts with this journal that Mom is writing right here on her computer. Only it's not for me, it's for Greenlee. Yeah, that's right. It's going to come from my laptop right here and go straight into hers. Yeah. This will expose her for who she really is. Pay attention. Ok, let's see.
Kendall: "Dear Spike, today, I was in the ER with Kendall, the woman who calls herself your mom. She may have given birth to you, but you were meant for me. And that makes you my son, even though no one will admit it. We'll be together. I keep thinking about how wonderful that's going to be, and I will make it happen. Till then, just know that your real mommy loves you and misses you. I know you understand. I'm not trying to cause trouble. I just want to make things right."
Richie: I just want to make things right.
Ryan and Jonathan: What?
Aidan: Wait, this another twist?
Jonathan: What kind of sick game are you playing?
Jack: Everybody, stop talking, please, except for you. Go ahead.
Man: Go on, Mr. Novak.
Richie: I called Ryan and asked him to meet me. He suggested this abandoned place by the park. Ahem. And he wanted to make it private. I didn't care. Just needed to talk to him. I wanted to explain why I was in town and didn't tell anybody who I really was. He brought his friend -- Aidan. Which I get. They had no reason to trust me. So they asked me questions, and I answered them -- ahem -- the best I know how, which is honestly.
Lt. Perry: When my men and I got to the pump house, you had a noose around your neck. You were barely conscious.
Richie: Hey, will you lay off the visuals in front of my sister? Our mother died. We don't need you to draw us a picture.
Ryan: "Us"? Did he really just say --
Richie: Look, I didn't come to town to start any trouble, especially not for Annie. But according to them, she was done with me. My own sister couldn't stand me, so -- I don't really know -- I don't know why I did it.
Lt. Perry: Did what?
Richie: I put the noose around my neck. Ahem. I guess I just -- I wanted to --
Annie: What, what? You wanted to what, Richie?
Richie: To know what Mom went through. I wanted to feel what she felt. The chair slipped. I didn't kick it, but neither did they. So I -- I get it. It was a mistake, and I will take any psych evaluation you want me to take, but just don't let my sister's husband and her friend get locked up for a crime they didn't commit. I know a little about that. It's hell. I don't want that for them. I don't want that for us.
Lt. Perry: So we put you under oath, give you a lie detector --
Richie: My story won't change.
Jack: You know, Judge Warren is in his chambers. Why don't we take this mess to him? What do you say?
Lt. Perry: Keep an eye on these guys, and you stay here. I still have to get your official statement.
Jack: After you.
Richie: Seven years of lockup, you learn how to take orders.
Annie: Oh --
Ryan: Hey, hey, I know -- I know it's not easy. I know, but try not to let him get to you, all right? He's sick.
Annie: You see this, though? You see this, right? Letting you guys go -- it's like he wants you to be grateful. He thinks he owns us now, Ryan.
Ryan: Never. Never, all right? We're going to get him back in prison. He'll never get near you, or Emma.
Greenlee: Ok, Annie, why don't you sit down?
Annie: No, I don't need to sit.
Greenlee: You know, I do, so keep me company?
Jonathan: That's one sick son of a bitch. What do you think his next move is?
Aidan: I can't get a handle on him. He's slick.
Zach: Whatever he's got planned, he wants you two in the front row.
Ryan: He definitely wanted to keep us out of jail for a reason.
Aidan: And now, we have to figure out what that reason is.
Jonathan: He's twisted, but he's smart.
Zach: And he'll slip up, eventually.
Ryan: And when he does, I will be there to put his ass back in prison where it belongs.
Jack: Well, gentlemen, I'm happy to say, not such a good day for the DA. A very good day for you two. The charges have been dropped. It's over.
Ryan: No, it's not, Jack, not by a long shot.
Ava: Don't call him that.
J.R.: What? Psycho boy?
Ava: Jonathan is not a psycho. He's amazing. I love him. Why do you think I'm marrying him?
J.R.: I don't know. Maybe because you want to commit career suicide?
Ava: Well, why do you care so much?
J.R.: Because it's my money that's funding this network.
Ava: Yeah, right. Without me, you wouldn't have a dime.
J.R.: I raised all of it, so therefore, I'm responsible for every penny, and your boyfriend is a loose cannon.
Ava: My fiancÚ. And he loves me -- more than anyone ever has.
J.R.: Well, Jon Boy's love is not going to stop him from sabotaging your career.
Ava: You know, I'm thinking that the only reason you don't want me with Jonathan is so that you can have me all to yourself.
J.R.: The only thing I see when I look at you are dollar signs. That and a bad dye job.
Ava: You're an ass.
J.R.: Come on, own up. If I would have got to you with this money situation before Jonny popped the question, you would have said "Thanks, but no, thanks" before he tried to slip on that puny, wannabe little diamond.
Ava: That is not true.
J.R.: This thing between you guys is not permanent.
Ava: Oh, really? You want to know how permanent it is?
[J.R. laughs hysterically when Ava shows him heart tattoo with Yes! in the middle.]
Lt. Perry: We need your signatures.
Ryan: Ah. Can't I do this later?
Lt. Perry: Not if you want out of here.
Greenlee: Well, thank God they can go.
Annie: Thank Richie. He's figured out a way to save the day once again.
Greenlee: All right, don't worry, Annie, because Ryan and Aidan -- they're going to bust him.
Annie: I'm starting to wonder if that's even possible. Go -- go to him.
Annie: Aidan. Go see how he's doing. You've been babysitting me long enough.
Greenlee: Ok, I have made way too many mistakes to count, but leaving you right now when you're about to tear this place apart is not going to be one of them.
Greenlee's voice: "I know Kendall and Zach and Ryan and Annie want to make you whole again, Spike. They want you to hear." I want that, too, but what everyone doesn't get is that you can only be whole with me. Everything would have been fine if I hadn't turned that car around. That's why you got hurt. Because we didn't get away when we were supposed to. I'm so sorry that it had to happen like this. But I promise you, once we're together -- for good -- everything will be better."
Kendall: These words that I'm typing, Spike -- I hate it. I hate -- I hate typing this. But I have to, honey. I have to. This is the only way that we are going to get Greenlee out of our lives. And after this, she will never hurt you again.
Greenlee's voice: "One day, you'll be mine, Spike, like it was always meant to be. Wait a second. What is this? I don't think these things, Kendall.
Kendall: What do you mean, Greenlee? Of course, you do. This is -- this is your diary. This is where you write your -- your -- your darkest, deepest thoughts. These are your darkest secrets, Greenlee -- even if I'm the one who has to write them.
Ryan: I mean, can you believe this guy?
Zach: Hey, come on.
Aidan: Ryan, I screwed up, man, all right? I want to apologize again. If I hadn't tied that noose around his neck, he wouldn't be here right now, and he wouldn't be able to play hero.
Ryan: You know what, Aidan? Don't be ridiculous. There's no possible way that you could have known that he would be so crazy as to set us up like this.
Aidan: Yeah, but still. I don't care what I have to do, he's going down.
Zach: I said it before -- anything you need, I'm here.
Jonathan: Guys, we have got to do something, ok? We can't let this scum just walk out of here right now.
Ryan: He won't, he won't, and I know where you're coming from, Jonathan. I know you feel like you're climbing the walls here, but I need you to -- I need you to take that energy and focus it on Annie and Emma right now, ok? They need you. I need you.
Jonathan: Ok, ok. Yes, anything that you need. Yeah.
Ryan: Thank you.
Jack: Ok, gentlemen, you're all set, you're free to go.
Aidan: Thank you, Jack.
Ryan: Thanks, Jack.
Jack: You're quite welcome. If I were you, I'd get out of here before Annie's brother provokes any more charges, however. What is it with that guy? It's like he's -- what, it's like he's missing something.
Aidan: Yeah, a soul.
Jack: Well, whatever the case may be, please be careful, all of you, around this guy. And you --
Aidan: It's all right, you don't have to say it.
Aidan: I'm going to take care of Greenlee. Can I talk to you for a minute?
Jack: Yeah, I'm on my way out, anyway. See you later.
Zach: See ya.
Ryan: We're done here. I'll catch up with you later, all right? Thanks.
Jonathan: Yeah. I wouldn't be anywhere else.
Jack: Sweetheart, I'll see you later.
Greenlee: Oh, thank you so much.
Jack: Annie, you call me if you need anything, all right?
Annie: Thank you.
Zach: You ready to go?
Ryan: I'm not quite finished.
Zach: What about you? Let's go for a walk, get some fresh air.
Annie: So I won't see my husband confront my brother? No, I -- I need to be here.
Zach: Well, maybe I'll join you. He was putting on quite a performance.
Annie: He always does.
Zach: What about you? What are you starring in? The calm before the storm?
Annie: No storm. But this time, I cannot sit around and wait for Richie to make his next move. The best thing for Ryan and me to do now is to take Emma and run.
Ryan: Nobody's watching. I mean, the bailiff is outside that door right there, so you can --
Ryan: You can drop the mask.
Richie: Look, I thought my statement was enough to prove to you that I'm not here to hurt Annie or Emma.
Ryan: All it proved was that you're not finished doing whatever it is that you're doing to my wife.
Richie: I just wanted to be near my sister.
Ryan: Hmm. Do you ever get tired? I mean, carrying around all those lies? Or -- or maybe you can't even tell the difference. I mean, tell the difference between the truth and what comes out of your mouth.
Richie: Don't ever talk to me about lies.
Ryan: There he is -- there's the real you. So, what is it going to take for you to leave my family alone?
Richie: Oh. I'm not going anywhere -- oh, not now. Maybe not ever.
Zach: So -- if you were to leave town, you don't think your brother would follow you?
Annie: I have to do something. Maybe that's the best I can manage. God, Zach, I came to Pine Valley with a truckload of baggage -- first Terry, now Richie. The least I can do is try to get him to leave town. I owe everybody that much.
Zach: You don't owe anybody anything. This is on your brother, not you.
Annie: So what am I supposed to do?
Zach: Don't hide. Hang out with the people that love you. There's a lot of them here today. You know, you got a big, mean defensive line to back you up.
Annie: And what if that's not enough?
Zach: Don't run away from your problems. It doesn't work -- I tried it.
Annie: Richie, he -- he scares me more than your father, because he can keep his hate inside. And he'll wait. He'll wait as long as it takes, and when he sees his opening, he'll take it.
Zach: We won't give him one.
Annie: Zach, you -- you heard what he did. He hung himself. He kicked the chair out from underneath him and hung himself knowing that he would be saved in time, knowing how that would look. How do I fight someone like that?
Zach: With backup.
Richie: You want to talk about lies?
Ryan: You're the expert, right, Richie?
Richie: Annie's lies got me sent to prison for seven -- seven long years, during which I spent some serious QT with myself. I have never been so clear on what I want or how I'm going to get it.
Ryan: Wow, this should be good. What is it that you want, Richie?
Richie: Well, a new life -- this one, right here.
Jack: Jonathan, I know this might not be the right time or place for this, but Lily tells me that you've asked Ava to marry you.
Jonathan: Yes, actually -- she said yes, actually, right before I came over here. The last thing I ever wanted to do in the entire world is hurt Lily, and I hope you know that.
Jack: I do. And I think Lily does, too, but that doesn't make this any less confusing for her.
Jonathan: I -- I know. If there's anything at all that I can do to make this easier, I --
Jack: Jonathan, despite everything we've gone through, I -- I do wish the best for you. You made Lily very happy for a while, and you saved her from Terry, and for that, I'll always be grateful. I think you're a good man, and I think you deserve good things.
Jonathan: Thank you.
Jack: Yeah. Don't thank me yet, because having said all that, now I'm going to stick my nose where it doesn't belong and ask you -- are you sure about this?
Jonathan: About Ava?
Jack: About Ava, yeah.
Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah, I am. She's alone, Jack. She's the loneliest person I've ever met. She's been doing it on her own for so long, it -- it shows. She never really had anybody see her -- you know what I mean?
Jonathan: She never had anyone tell her that she was fun or that she's interesting, or that she's beautiful.
[Ava chuckles as she plays around with J.R.]
Jonathan's voice: I want to be that person for her.
J.R.: Let her beg first.
Jonathan's voice: I can't wait to be that person for her.
J.R.: Oh, don't no, I don't think so.
Ava: I wouldn't do that. I couldn't do that.
J.R.: Ok, ok, seriously. You need to chill.
Ava: Not until you take back what you said about Jonathan.
J.R.: What is this, middle school?
Ava: Where do you get off anyway? I mean, everyone knows you tried to kill your wife -- oh, and Kendall, too -- so at least Jonathan has an excuse for what he did.
J.R.: Or a cover.
Ava: What's your problem? You didn't seem to mind him when you were kissing his butt to ask for money.
J.R.: I was willing to put up with psycho boy's drama if he was going to fund my network. But since I have another backer, it's bye-bye.
Ava: If you call him that one more time --
J.R.: What? What are you going to do?
Singer: I can't deny right down to you ♪

Ava: What the hell is this?
J.R.: I don't know. You tell me.

Greenlee: I can't get Richie's face out of my head, you know, the way that he was -- oh. The way he was --
Greenlee: Ryan was staring at him and --
Aidan: Oh. How? How was he staring at him -- what?
Greenlee: Just total hatred, you know, the way Ryan used to stare at me.
Aidan: "Used to"?
Greenlee: Well, yeah. I mean, did you see the way Ryan was talking to me today? It was like I was a real human being.
Aidan: Yeah. Well, good. It's about time.
Greenlee: Oh, ok -- this coming from the man who kidnapped me, took me back to the scene of the crime, and said no one would ever, ever forgive me?
Aidan: Well, I'm glad to see you've let that go. Greenlee, you made a mistake, all right, a big one, and you've done nothing but try and make it right ever since. In my book, that means a lot.
Greenlee: And what about Ryan's book?
Aidan: Well, you can't spend the rest of your life working for Ryan's forgiveness.
Greenlee: But you can?
Aidan: What do you mean?
Greenlee: Well, on the ride over here, you said you were going to leave town for a while, try to track Richie's past mistakes.
Aidan: Richie deserves to be in prison for the rest of his life, and I want to help put him there.
Greenlee: Yeah, but you also want to -- you think you messed up with this noose thing, that you ruined Ryan's plan. You want to track Richie to make up for it.
Aidan: Oh -- come on. Greenlee, you're reading way too much into this.
Greenlee: Oh, really?
Aidan: Yeah, "Oh, really." This isn't about penance or guilt, all right? This is about justice.
Greenlee: This isn't fair!
Kendall: No, don't -- don't touch me.

Greenlee: No, and you don't -- I just -- I thought that we were getting closer.
Kendall: It's an act, Greenlee, an act. My skin crawls every time I'm near you. My stomach churns when I hear the sound of your voice and being in the same room with you, for God's sakes, I -- without pulling out your hair is probably the toughest challenge I've ever had.
Greenlee: No. No way, no. I -- I don't believe you, because you couldn't be that nice to me if you didn't still feel something.
Kendall: Oh, oh, oh, I feel plenty -- hatred, loathing.
Greenlee: But look at me, Kendall. You envisioned me like this -- all bloodied and bruised -- so you know that I was hurt that day, too.
Kendall: Oh -- "that day"? You mean the day that Spike lost his hearing? The day that Ian was born months too early. I envision you that way, because I never want to forget what you did and what you took from my children.
Greenlee: Well, what about what you're doing to yourself? I mean, this hatred and these lies and these --
Kendall: Please, just stop -- stop, ok? I'm so sick of you. You have infected my life in so many ways -- my children, my family, my work. You are everywhere. I can't get rid of you. But that is what I am going to do, and I'm not going to stop until you are gone.
Aidan: And what's that?
Greenlee: Well, whenever I try to make up for what happened with Spike -- which, by the way, is infinitely so much more horrible than your slip-up with Richie -- you tell me that I should stop trying to fix it all the time.
Aidan: Wow -- so you "do" listen to me, then.
Greenlee: Yes, from time to time. You said that the best thing to do would be to own up to what I did.

Ava: Yeah, definitely.
Greenlee: So the deal is the sooner we get Annie's brother off the streets, the easier it's going to be for more people to sleep at night.
Aidan: Well, this way, unfortunately, this little vacation of ours is not going to be all fun and games, because the more dirt we can dig up on Richie Novak, the better chance we'll have to bury him with it.
Greenlee: Well, you don't have to sell me. So, um, where to first?
Aidan: Annie told Ryan about a Boy Scout trip that Richie took.
Greenlee: Right, where Richie's friend drowned. Oh, um -- Annie told me, too.
Aidan: Well, did she also tell you that, um, she doesn't think it was an accident?
Greenlee: Yeah. So if Richie could kill another boy at age 12 or 13, imagine what he's capable of doing now.
Aidan: Greenlee, I've been around a few sociopaths in my time and this Richie Novak -- he is cold.
Kendall: "I'm the reason you exist, Spike. You were my dream, my wish, my love. Kendall thinks that doesn't matter, but we know better, don't we? I'll make things right. I promise."
Greenlee: Stop this, Kendall. Think about what you're doing.
Kendall: I know exactly what I'm doing, Greenlee. I am making sure that you don't ever touch or go near my son again.
Greenlee: But you'll risk losing everything. Do you really hate me that much? Well, that just proves that you used to love me that much.
Kendall: Oh, ok. Well, whatever I felt, that was a lifetime ago.
Greenlee: It doesn't matter. It's still in there somewhere.
Kendall: Would you stop? Did you not get it? Do you not get it? You hurt my child, Greenlee. You've damaged him. You have permanently damaged him, and you have damaged us. There is no love, none. There is no warmth, there is no nothing. You and I are nothing. And I swear to you if you ever go anywhere near my son again, I will kill you.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Jonathan (to Ava): Something's bothering you, and it's more than cold feet.
Ava: It's about J.R. and me.
J.R. (to Adam): You still love Krystal.
Ryan (to Richie): You know, I've been doing a lot of thinking on how I'm going to get rid of you, for good.
[Ryan takes a gun out of his jacket]
