Kendall: What -- what are you doing, Mother?
Erica: This Greenlee project -- it's over, no more.
Kendall: This is not your decision.
Erica: You can't get rid of her like this.
Kendall: I thought that you were on my side. I -- I don't understand. What suddenly changed?
Erica: You, Kendall. You -- I'm worried about you.
Singer: Something stirred me ♪
Aidan: Well, well, well, look at you -- smiling more and yelling less. It works for you.
Greenlee: Did you see those two girls? Kind of reminded me of Kendall and me a million years ago.
Aidan: Missing the glory days, are we?
Greenlee: Yeah, a little, but we're getting it back slowly.
Aidan: What, you and Kendall?
Greenlee: Yeah -- um -- shh, ok? I mean that. Let's just keep that between us, because I'm not supposed to say anything.
Aidan: Greenlee, I'm flattered.
Greenlee: So? I mean, did you get the picture from Ryan of Annie's brother from the islands? Let me see it.
Greenlee: What, you mocking me now?
Aidan: No, Greenlee, I'm trying to protect you from getting yourself hurt -- or maybe worse.
Kendall: You haven't answered my question, Mother. Why is this now all of a sudden a bad idea?
Erica: Because I have taken time to think this through, and I suggest that you do that, too, Kendall. I want you to do that right now.
Kendall: No, I -- I don't need to think things through, ok? It's already started.
Erica: What exactly are you doing here?
Kendall: I hacked into Greenlee's computer and created this journal -- Greenlee's pathetic, Spike-obsessed journal.
Erica: And you -- you write the entries in from here?
Kendall: Yes, and they go directly into Greenlee's hard drive, and she never knows that they're there.
Erica: And what if she discovers them? You could go to jail.
Kendall: Well, I'll risk it. For my family, it's worth it.
Erica: You won't be helping Spike. What you'll be doing is you'll be causing more pain, and not just for Greenlee.
Greenlee: You know, if you're trying to scare me, you're going to have to do a lot better than that.
Aidan: I'm not trying to scare you. I'm asking you not to talk so bloody much.
Aidan: Listen, has it ever occurred to you, right, that that guy, Annie's brother -- whoever he is -- might be in this bar right now, listening to everything that we're saying?
J.R.: Still small, but cute.
Zach: Does this look like my office to you?
J.R.: I thought you wanted your business off the books. I'll make an appointment.
Zach: So you're in?
J.R.: I'm going to need a lot more information before I get you any of Greenlee's Fusion stock.
Zach: The only thing you need is to know your reward -- start-up money for your beauty network.
J.R.: All right, so this bait that I'm supposed to use to get Greenlee to believe that she could have Ryan's baby -- it's not true, is it? Did you destroy all of her fertilized eggs or not?

Adam: Oh -- what the hell is that? For -- for God's sake, why don't you turn down the --
Colby: Dad, that was the last rhythm track -- and it was awesome, you guys!
Ren: Very nice indeed.
Corrina: I don't know. I don't think it's the right finish.
Adam: Colby? Colby, can I -- can I talk to you for just a moment? Huh -- heh. Yeah, I mean, I -- I said you could -- you could invite your friends over, I didn't know you were going to have a "rave."
Colby: Ha! Dad, that is so cute.
Adam: Oh, really? It's supposed to be the voice of authority. I haven't heard that much rock 'n' roll since --
Colby: No, it's alternative hip-hop, Dad.
Adam: Well, whatever you call it, I haven't heard that much since J.R.'s band practiced here.
Colby: Yeah, but this is their first big demo, and they need it on the best equipment -- yours.
Adam: I thought Tad had state-of-the-art.
Colby: Yeah, but Jenny's baby ears aren't ready for this kind of music close-up.
Adam: Neither are mine. Huh.
Colby: Oh, wait! Here, here, here, here.
Colby: I got something -- earplugs. These will help.
Adam: Yeah, so would a double scotch, single malt --
Colby: Dad --
Adam: 20 years --
Colby: Dad --
Adam: No, no, relax. That sadistic cardiologist of mine has me -- put the fear of God into me.
Adam: Oh -- uh -- just -- CBGB's. Yeah, just -- just kidding. Just kidding, yeah. Uh, just -- just hold on a second. This is business. Try not to tear down the walls, ok?
Ren: Track seven.
Colby: Track seven. Should I start from the top?
Sean: Hey, guys. Sorry, sorry, sorry.
Colby: Oh, hey. Where have you been?
Sean: Casey and I had to cover some civil disobedience.
Ren: Say huh?
Sean: Antiwar protest.
Colby: Sean's taking pictures for the PVU newspaper.
Corrina: So, what, chanting? Bullhorns? People chaining themselves to buildings?
Sean: Actually, it was more like a meeting, but nearly 3,000 students showed up.
Corrina: We should've all been there.
Ren: Like it matters if the world marches and waves flowers around. Freakin' war is good for big business -- they'll keep it going.
Dre: Yo, shut the hell up, man.
Ren: I got a right to an opinion.
Dre: Clueless morons always say that. Your opinions suck. You're just an embarrassment.
Adam: Peace and quiet. Isn't it --
Sean: Mr. Chandler. You know, I never got a chance to thank you for trying to wreck my life.
Krystal: You certainly did some heavy damage with that stick there.
Hannah: Oh -- I think I may have bruised Tad's ego.
Krystal: Yeah. Tad hates to lose, but I think he likes a woman who can dish it out -- if you know what I mean. I'm Krystal.
Hannah: Oh, Krystal. Hannah.
Hannah: I really like your place.
Krystal: Yeah, yeah. Friday nights are when the real hustlers stop by. Oh -- I'm talking about pool.
Hannah: Oh, well, I'll stop by, then.
Krystal: Yeah. Yeah, mostly it's testosterone, but I'm betting you could handle a few good old boys hitting on you.
Hannah: Hmm. Can they handle rejection?
Krystal: Oh, come on, now. Some of them clean up pretty good, you know, they could be keepers.
Hannah: No, thanks, I'm not in the market.
Krystal: No? Not even for Mr. Right?
Hannah: Oh. I actually thought I met him once. And now all I need is a reminder now and then that everything still works.
Krystal: I hear what you're talking about. Yeah, no, I've said those same words myself a few times -- "no more love for me." This time I'm even trying to stick to it.
Greenlee: So I will whisper from now on. Did you or did you not get a cleaned-up picture of Annie's brother?
Aidan: Look, this picture could be of someone --
Greenlee: Annie's brother?
Aidan: That is in this bar right now, and he could be very desperate and want to get everyone -- including us -- off of his back.
Greenlee: Oh. So you're afraid he's going to shut me up?
Aidan: Right -- and spare me the pleasure.
Greenlee: Mm-hmm. Just admit it -- you're crazy about me.
Aidan: Yeah -- I know that you're crazy, but, sure, Greenlee, everything's always about you.
Greenlee: Ok, pretend all you want, Aidan, but you know you love working with me.
Aidan: Well, as of right now, you can't be part of this anymore.
Greenlee: You can't fire me, I'm a volunteer.
Aidan: Well, you're an ex-volunteer. Cheers.
Erica: Kendall, this isn't the way.
Kendall: You led me on, and now -- now you're -- you're bailing on me? My God, Mom, whose side are you on?
Erica: I'm on your side -- yours and Spike's and Ian's and Zach's.
Kendall: Who did you talk to? Who turned you against me?
Erica: No one has turned me against you. I -- look, honey, I was just with Jack, and Jack --
Kendall: Jack, Jack. See, of course, I told you. I said -- I said that -- that helping me would mess up your relationship.
Erica: That is not why I changed my mind. Jack is worried about you.
Kendall: Why? What, he said that?
Erica: Yes, he said that. Yes, he did, he's worried about you. And, of course, he's worried about Greenlee, and he's worried about our entire family.
Kendall: But what exactly did you tell him?
Erica: Well, Jack is the one who brought this up, because Jack's afraid for Greenlee.
Kendall: Right, of course -- poor baby-stealing Greenlee. And that turned you around?
Erica: Fear, honey. Fear -- that's what turned me around. Fear about what this is doing to you already, and fear that Greenlee could actually do worse.
Kendall: Oh, I doubt she could do worse than she's already done.
Erica: Well, don't be so sure about that.
Kendall: Greenlee should worry about me. I'm doing this for my family, Mother. Greenlee does not deserve to get away with what she's done, and she won't.
Erica: And I say forget Greenlee. Instead of making entries in that journal, take this time and ride on the carousel with Spike. Hold your baby. Take a walk on the beach with your -- your two precious little boys and your husband. Don't waste your time on Greenlee. Take this precious time and rebuild your family.
Zach: Greenlee will give up Fusion for any chance to have a baby with Ryan.
J.R.: All right, so give me the goods.
Zach: No. You reel her in, I'll do the rest.
J.R.: Ok. So whatever the truth is, you want me to get Greenlee to believe that these fertilized eggs exist?
Zach: See how much faith I have in you?
J.R.: Ok, let's -- let's say I can make this happen. The offer is Fusion stock for a carton of eggs?
Zach: Everyone's happy.
J.R.: Uh-huh. And what happens when Greenlee opens up this carton? It's getting a little sticky for me, I'm out.
Zach: Pull up a chair. Sit down.
Zach: When Spike was born prematurely, he was about the same size that Ian is now. He was in trouble, but he survived.
J.R.: Yeah. I know.
Zach: You almost killed my son and my wife. She asked me to let you live. Get Greenlee's stock in Fusion. You owe Kendall that much.
Adam: We can't change what happened, Sean. So I say move on. Be glad you're a very lucky young man.
Sean: Yeah, you're lucky, too. Lucky that Colby keeps forgiving you.
Adam: Huh. Try to stay out of trouble.
Greenlee: So, when did you become my lord and savior?
Aidan: I don't want you working on this case anymore. Is that clear? All right, you've done your bit. Now butt out.
Greenlee: Is this Ryan's decision or yours?
Aidan: It's mine.
Greenlee: I don't believe you.
Aidan: Ok, well, then it's Ryan's, then. Ryan thinks it's a great idea that you hang around. How's that? Is that better?
Greenlee: Now you're just trying to hurt me.
Aidan: No, I'm not, no.
Greenlee: Look, I messed up Ryan's life. I hurt his son. This may be my only chance to help him, so he doesn't hate me so much. Please, Aidan.
Aidan: No, listen --
Greenlee: Don't take this away from me.
Aidan: This is dangerous, Greenlee, ok?
Greenlee: Well, I'm not backing out. It's my choice.
Aidan: Well, you don't have a choice.
Greenlee: You can't stop me!
Aidan: No, listen, why can't you just be like a normal person, all right? And say, "You know what, Aidan? Thanks. Thanks for looking out for me. Thanks for your concern. You're right. I'll back off."
Greenlee: No, this is way too important.
Aidan: Well, you're out, Greenlee, all right? That's it.
Greenlee: I'm in, Aidan. You can't ditch me. I'm not letting you kick me out of your life.
Aidan: Look, I want you in my life, you lunatic. All right? But in one piece. Not in pieces here and bits there.
Aidan: Yeah. Look, as hard as it may sound, I actually do give a big, fat damn about you.
Erica: You're dealing with so much right now.
Kendall: Well, yeah, I'll have less with Greenlee out of the picture.
Erica: You're seeing doctors about Spike's cochlear implants.
Kendall: Yeah, but that won't interfere with our appointment.
Erica: Concentrate on that. And Ian. He's getting so much closer to -- to being able to come home, honey. I mean, your life is full of joy and love. Why do you want to get dragged down into that ugly mess?
Kendall: I want to end the ugly part.
Erica: Then concentrate on your children, honey, and your husband. Cling to them. Don't waste your energy on Greenlee.
Kendall: I can't just sit around and wait for Greenlee's next strike.
Erica: Honey, you have given way too much power to Greenlee.
Kendall: No, Greenlee took it. And I'm taking it back. My family cannot be safe until Greenlee is gone.
Erica: Please, listen to me.
Kendall: Mom, if you want to look over someone, help someone, try Jack or Bianca. Play poker with Myrtle.
Erica: Don't do that to me. Please don't do that to me. Don't shut me out.
Kendall: I don't need you, Mother, ok? The only way that you're going to help me right now is by leaving me alone.
Erica: What can I say?
Kendall: That you'll keep quiet about all of this.
Erica: Yeah, I can't stop you. Oh, boy. It's times like this that I just -- I would like to toss it all. Just really give in to it.
Kendall: What are you talking about?
Erica: There are times when sobriety is highly overrated. Oh, God, would I love a pill or a drink. Anything just to make this pain go away.
Kendall: No, no, no. No, don't you say that. Don't you say it. Don't you even think it.
J.R.: I never meant to hurt Kendall.
Zach: No. You wanted to hurt Babe, but you were too drunk to know the difference.
J.R.: If there's any mistake that I could ever take back, that would be it.
Zach: Then Babe would be gone.
J.R.: You know that's not what I'm trying to say. I hate what I did, ok?
Zach: Ok. And now your future's riding on this. You get me what I need, and the past will stay in the past.
J.R.: Ok. But why should Greenlee believe that Ryan's deviled eggs exist?
Zach: Because I have backup.
J.R.: I underestimated you. This is brilliant.
Colby: Dad --
Adam: I want this to work, sweetheart. I -- I can't lose you again.
Colby: No, Dad, I'm not going anywhere. And what Sean just said to you -- he could have waited till you were alone.
Adam: Right. Thanks.
Adam: Some of what Sean said is true. I should never have tried to control you. And I guess you could do worse than Montgomery.
Colby: Much worse?
Adam: Well, I wouldn't go that far.
Colby: So tell me, how did things go with you and Krystal?
Adam: I'm exiled, completely.
Colby: She doesn't mean it.
Adam: I'm sorry, sweetheart, I'm afraid she does.
Colby: Dad, you could change her mind.
Adam: She's not open to negotiations, she's not open to debate. What else can I do?
Colby: I know. Dad, use your secret weapon. Take her fishing.
Krystal: Yeah, I am romance-free at the moment. Although the guy that I quit is still around.
Hannah: Yeah? I know how rough that is.
Krystal: He's a real snake.
Hannah: A cheat?
Krystal: No. Just a toxic mess. A real attractive toxic mess.
Hannah: Well, you have my sympathy.
Krystal: How come no matter how bad they are for you -- I mean, you know it -- you just -- when you get around them, your heart just --
Hannah: Yeah, ok --
Krystal: Can't stop beating.
Hannah: I know, I know, but you're asking -- I mean, you are asking the wrong girl.
Krystal: So, how bad was the guy that -- that you quit.
Hannah: Hmm. He wasn't bad at all. He was actually one of the good ones.
Zach: I'm glad you're impressed, Junior.
J.R.: Does that mean you actually have some of Greenlee's fertilized eggs on hand, hmm? Ok, I get it -- you're not talking. What happens if Greenlee asks why? I don't know -- "Why did Zach hang on to my fertilized eggs?
Zach: That's a very good question. Why would I bother? What -- what possible interest could I have in Ryan and Greenlee's unborn children?
Zach: Leverage. That's right. You never know when you're going to need it.
Greenlee: You really do want to protect me.
Aidan: And myself and this operation.
Greenlee: So, then I'll be careful.
Aidan: Greenlee, you're not simply in danger, you are the danger. Blah, blah, bloody blah, blah, blah, as you said.
Greenlee: Oh, you self-important, superior -- no.
Aidan: You never know when to stop, do you?
Greenlee: Thanks for the analysis, doctor.
Aidan: You know, why don't you just keep jabbering on until the wrong thing comes out of your mouth, and then you sink?
Greenlee: You don't want my help? Fine. I'll go solo.
Aidan: Why are you doing this, Greenlee? Why? Ryan doesn't want you hanging around, all right? He wants you to go away.
Greenlee: You know, if I listened to everybody that wanted me off the planet, I'd just have to volunteer at NASA then, wouldn't I?
Aidan: You see, there's a thought. You on a space shuttle, heading out to orbit.
Greenlee: You know, I desert Ryan.
Aidan: Right. You know, you've made that pretty clear. In fact, so clear, it almost sounds like --
Greenlee: Sounds like what? Oh, my God. You think I still have the hots for Ryan.
Kendall: I'll drive you to a meeting. Call your sponsor.
Erica: No, I don't need to.
Kendall: Come on, Mom, you can't just -- you're not, are you?
Kendall: Going off the wagon. You were faking. What -- how can you play me like that?
Erica: I was not faking it, and I was not playing you, believe me. Although I'm awfully glad I made my point.
Kendall: That -- that's low.
Erica: Kendall, there are all kinds of addictions. To painkillers, to -- to alcohol, to revenge.
Kendall: I'll look into rehab.
Erica: You know very well what my addiction can do to me. You've seen what it can do to me and to everybody around me who cares about me. That's why you were terrified just now. And that's how terrified I am for you.
Kendall: I can't OD on Greenlee.
Erica: Oh, no? If you go through with this project of yours, you could end up in prison. And who wins then? Spike? Ian? Honey, I am begging you, if you love your sons, if you love your husband, if you love me at all, don't do this. Put an end to this -- this -- this plan, now. Do it for your sons, do it for your husband. Do it for me. Do it for you.
J.R.: If you think I'll do this on faith, I don't have any in you.
Zach: Half your network seed money.
J.R.: The 1.5 million?
Zach: That's what we agreed to.
J.R.: And the other half?
Zach: You get me what I need, you get what you need. And Greenlee will be out of Kendall's life forever.
J.R.: And Greenlee gets --
Zach: What she deserves -- nothing. You in?
J.R.: I'm in. I'll call you when Greenlee's on the hook.
Zach: No. I'll contact you. Keep my name out of it.
J.R.: You don't want any part of this caper?
Zach: I can't.
J.R.: Why not?
Zach: Because you're the king of the double-cross. Don't try it with me. You'll lose a lot more than the family fortune.
J.R.: When I hand you over the rest of the Fusion stock, and you give me what you owe me, no one will know that we met or made any kind of deal.
Zach: Don't screw it up.
J.R.: Just have the rest of my money.
Kendall: Ok, you win. I give up, no more plan.
Erica: Well, that was far too easy.
Kendall: I'm not saying it's easy. I'm just saying I'll do it for you.
Erica: Thank you.
Kendall: I guess I never really thought about what could go wrong. I need Zach. And me leaving now, when -- when Spike and Ian need me so much -- I can't even begin to think about that. Sorry, Mom.
Erica: Kendall, it's all right.
Kendall: No, no, it's not. It's not. I mean, I have been letting Greenlee run all of our lives. So that -- that's it. I'm done. That ends right now, I swear. Starting right now, I will not give Greenlee any more power.
Erica: And you can do this, honey.
Erica: You can definitely do this.
Kendall: Thank you so much for -- just for helping me and for making me listen.
Erica: Honey, you're going to do it for your own children someday.
Kendall: Ok, so you really, really believe that Greenlee will stop bothering us?
Erica: I believe that Greenlee knows that we are all on our guard now. And she won't dare to do anything else.
Kendall: From your lips.
Greenlee: I told you, I am doing this to pay Ryan back, not get him back!
Aidan: Listen, Greenlee, lower your voice. I heard you.
Greenlee: You know, if I wanted to crawl between the sheets with Ryan again, I'd have agreed with your whole "Annie's a loon" theory, helped you truss her up and send her to the bin. "Oh, good, that's all done! Now Ryan's mine again, all mine!"
Aidan: That was very amusing.
Greenlee: But what did I do? I defended Annie instead. I stood up for her sanity.
Aidan: Ok. You're over Ryan.
Greenlee: Aidan, say it like you mean it. Come on, say it like you mean it. But you don't, do you? You still think I'm into Ryan, because you're jealous.
Krystal: Yeah. You never forget the ones who get under your skin.
Hannah: No matter how low the lows were.
Krystal: Because the highs are so high.
Hannah: To the ones that leave you breathless.
Krystal: So who -- who cut loose, you or almost Mr. Right?
Hannah: Oh, it was mutual.
Krystal: Still painful. Ah, men -- who needs them?
Hannah: Well, you have The Comeback, I have my career. There's nothing like a boardroom throwdown with the CEO to make your heart beat faster.
Krystal: Well, my heart's beating fine, but I'll tell you what -- I am much happier when it's thumping out a duet, if you know what I mean.
Adam: Krystal doesn't want to see me or talk to me. I can't get close enough to her to bait her hook or net her fish.
Colby: Yeah, but when we were fishing, Dad, you were so --
Colby: Yes, honest. And if you hadn't come clean about Sean and how sorry you are, I wouldn't be here.

Colby: Ok, now let's see the inside.
Sean: You've already read the liner notes.
Colby: Yeah, but inside, we see Dre, right? I mean, his face in the shot is a shadow.
Ren: The invisible man, just the way he likes it.
Dre: Faces lie. Anybody wants to know me, they can listen to the music.
Stuart: Have I ever lied to you, Adam?
Adam: I'm not questioning your honesty.
Stuart: And didn't I promise you that I would never tell Krystal that you pretended to be me?
Adam: Well, she found out somehow. And now she'll have nothing to do with me.
Stuart: Oh, Adam. I was so sure she still loved you.
Adam: Well, she still likes you. She's changed her mind. You're welcome at Tad's and The Comeback again.
Stuart: Oh, I'm so sorry she didn't want you there, Adam.
Adam: I'm not, not entirely, because I think the Stuart she really wants to see is me, the imitation you.
Stuart: So she -- she does still love you!
Adam: Well, I -- if I'm right.
Hannah: Well, I got to get going. Looks like there's a storm coming in.
Krystal: Yeah, either that or an eclipse.
Hannah: Well, I really enjoyed this, and I'll be back to play pool again.
Krystal: Great. Friday, I'll be here.
Hannah: I'll try.
Aidan: Me jealous of Ryan? Yeah, I don't think so. I just wanted to check and make sure that the playing field was clear, that's it.
Greenlee: But you were jealous, weren't you?
Greenlee: I mean, Ryan's around, he's hot, he's handsome, plus, well, you're working for him.

We send the staff out, the house boy brings in some champagne, and Ryan and I toast our future together by making passionate love. Fade out.

Greenlee: Well, you just don't know me that well.
Aidan: No, I think I do know you, Greenlee. You're irritating, you're impossible, you're stubborn. Did I say "irritating"?
Greenlee: Yeah, but you happened to forget fantastic, which is why you can't resist me and why you are jealous -- so, so, so, so jealous. It's ok, Aidan. You don't have to admit it. The whole world can see it written on your face.
