J.R.: What is this, some kind of business strategy? You dangle a carrot in front of me, then you walk away without explaining anything?

Zach: I got thirsty. I'll take the 15 with a splash of water, please, Kyle. Thank you.

J.R.: If you have some way of salvaging my network, Slater, just say it. Otherwise, I'm out of here, because I'm not into playing your games.

Zach: Walk away if you want I was going to throw you a life preserver, but I'll be just as happy to watch you drown.

J.R.: Ok, if you have somebody who's interested --

Kyle: Here you go.

Zach: Thanks.

J.R.: In my network, someone who wants to invest in me. Are you? Do you want to sponsor my idea?

Zach: Ah. What do you think?

J.R.: First of all, I have to ask you what gives? Because I know you wouldn't lift a finger to help me.

Zach: It's not about me helping you. It's about you helping me.

[Greenlee gasps]

Aidan: Mmm, mmm, mmm.

Greenlee: No, let's just get inside, ok?

Aidan: All right.

Greenlee: Wait, wait, wait.

Greenlee: Oh, my God, this place is a sty. Let me just clean up the couch.

Aidan: Hey, you're joking, right? Come here. Where are you going? This is pretty clean for a sexy biker chick.

[Greenlee laughs]

Aidan: Eh?

Greenlee: Oh, oh. Hungry? Don't you need to eat?

[Aidan and Greenlee laugh]

Babe: That was nice. You're nice.

Ryan: You're sure? You're sure that that is your brother?

Annie: I am positive. That is Richie. Where did you get this picture, Ryan?

Ryan: Aidan got it off of Eddie Johnson's cell phone.

Annie: Eddie?

Ryan: Yeah, the guy who robbed The Comeback bar. I'm surprised that your brother let him take this picture.

Annie: I'm not. It's all a game to him, hiding in plain sight.

Ryan: This is what he looked like when I first got the photo, when Aidan first sent it.

Annie: Which is exactly what he looked like last time I saw him in prison.

Ryan: Right, but I figured that your brother was smart enough to change his look a little bit, and I remembered you saying that he was clean cut before he went to prison, so I used some software just to clean him up a little bit. And this is what I got. Richie's world just started closing in on him.

Annie: I want to believe you, Ryan, but we do t know what's going on in that head of his. We don't know what he's planning next.

Richie: You know, coming to Pine Valley was the best move I ever made.

Babe: What brought you here, anyway?

Richie: Looking to cause some trouble.

Babe: Come on. I'm serious. I want to know about you, Wes.

Richie: I told you, my life is pretty boring.

Babe: Well, not to me it isn't.

Richie: That's because you're easily entertained.

[Babe laughs]

Babe: So, when you said that you weren't going anywhere, did you mean that you're permanently planning on staying in Pine Valley? Or haven't you planned that far ahead yet?

Richie: No, I have some plans. All sorts of this going on in my head.

Ryan: Whatever he's planning, it doesn't matter because you're safe here with me. He can't get to you.

Annie: But he can get to Emma. Oh, my God, Ryan, we left her there. We're here safe on this island, and Emma and Spike are back in Pine Valley with Richie.

Ava: So, I saw J.R.'s car in the parking lot. Did you talk to him yet?

Jonathan: Yeah.

Ava: And is he, like, super excited?

Jonathan: No, not really.

Ava: Well, put him out of his misery and just tell him that you got Ryan to fund the Ava network.

Jonathan: Ava, I'm sorry, but I cannot go into business with J.R. Chandler. And I will not ask my brother to.

J.R.: If something's in it for you, I'd like to know what that something is.

Zach: You want the money for your business or not?

J.R.: Not if getting it means I have to sell my soul.

Zach: You don't have a soul. How much do you need?

J.R.: $100 million. Plus interest for ripping off my dad.

Zach: I tried.

J.R.: $3 million, 4 would be better.

Zach: Three it is.

J.R.: Wow, this is easy. What do I have to do for you?

Zach: Get rid of Greenlee.

Greenlee: Thank you.

[Greenlee and Aidan make out while Kendall hides]

Greenlee: Kiss all the tattoos.

[Phone rings]

Aidan: Hang on, I have to get this. It's Ryan. Hello, Ryan. Ryan, are you there?

Ryan: Yeah. Can you hear me?

[Wind blows]

Aidan: Yeah, barely. Whereabouts are you?

Ryan: I'm still on the island. There's a storm coming. Maybe it's affecting the connection, so I'll make this quick.

Aidan: Did you get the picture I sent you?

Ryan: Yeah, I did. I used some photo compositing software to clean it up a little bit, and Annie confirmed that it's her brother.

Aidan: I thought as much. Do you think he's changed his look?

Ryan: I lost the facial hair, cleaned it up a little bit. I'm going to send you the new version by fax and by e-mail.

Aidan: I'm sorry, mate, you're cutting out.

Ryan: I said, I'm going to send you the new version when we hang up.

Aidan: You're going to send me the picture? Ok, I'll make sure your security team get it.

Ryan: Aidan, look, be sure to pass on a copy of it to the guards watching Emma and Spike.

Aidan: Listen, if Richie Novak's in Pine Valley, we'll find him.

Ryan: Aidan, I didn't catch that. Ok, listen, I'm going to hang up the phone now, but we're going to be on the next plane out of here.

[Static on phone]

Aidan: Did you say you were coming home? Ryan, I'm -- I can't hear you. Ryan?

Greenlee: What did he say, what did he say?

Aidan: I'm going to have to go to the office.

Greenlee: We were right about the picture, weren't we?

Aidan: Listen, I won't be long.

Greenlee: Ok, wait. No, no, no, I'm going to come with you.

Aidan: No, no, no, no. You stay here, keep my spot warm.

Greenlee: No, stop it.

Aidan: I'll be right back.

Greenlee: It's not fair. It's not fair.

[Greenlee turns on the TV and sits down to watch then hears Kendall make a noise and grabs a pair of scissors]

Annie: It's finally ringing.

Julia: Hello?

Annie: Julia, is that you?

Julia: Annie? Is that you? I can't hear you very well.

Annie: Yeah, I know. There's a storm. Listen, I was wondering how Emma is.

Julia: Emma? Oh, she's -- she's great. She and Kathy had a big day. Kathy's not feeling so hot, though.

Annie: Julia --

Julia: That little girl's coming down with something.

Annie: Can you hear me? Julia, you need to keep Emma's guard close by. Keep her safe.

Julia: Annie, are you still there? Hello?

Annie: Julia, you need to keep Emma at home with you. Hello? Damn it.

Ryan: So we know -- we know that Julia's got her, and we know that she's safe, ok?

Annie: Ryan, how soon can we get out of here?

Ryan: I'm checking our other options.

Annie: No.

Ryan: You have to be kidding me.

Annie: No, no, no! This cannot be happening right now!

Ryan: Ok, ok, there's a flashlight up here.

Ryan: There is another one in the bathroom. Why don't you go get it? I'm going light some candles down here.

Annie: This is a nightmare, Ryan.

Ryan: It's ok. It's ok.

Richie: I first heard about Pine Valley from a girl I grew up with. She seemed to like it. And I was looking for a fresh start, so I figured, "Hey, why not?"

Babe: So what are you hoping to get with this fresh start? What are these big plans of yours?

Richie: Nothing too crazy. Meet a nice girl, fall in love, get married, have some kids. And don't freak out on me, these are "down the line" plans.

Babe: Believe it or not, I'm actually past my panic mode with you.

Richie: Well, that is a good thing.

Babe: So are there any more plans?

Richie: I'd like to make enough money to live comfortably. I never want to be one of those guys who spends all of his time in an office. What?

Babe: So, no -- no mansions? No big corporate CEO jobs?

Richie: Why work yourself to death if you can't enjoy your life?

Babe: Well, I hope you get your fresh start, Wes. It sounds great.

Richie: Well, I am off to a good start. You sure you had a good time? Babe what, watching you hit home runs and me cower in the corner? Yes, it was really fun. I had so much fun. Thank you.

Richie: No, thank you. You're the excuse I've been looking for to stick around town.

Ava: Ok, you realized how badly I wanted this, right?

Jonathan: Ava, you can still have this. Listen, J.R. Chandler just talks a good game, but working with him would be career suicide for you.

Ava: Stop -- stop J.R. Just stop. That's not the issue. Why are we having an argument about J.R.?

Jonathan: He's absolutely my issue, though.

Ava: No, the issue is you want to control me.

Jonathan: That is not true.

Ava: Because if I'm successful, it won't be great for you, huh?

Jonathan: Whoa. Whoa, whoa, whoa. Where are you getting that from?

Ava: Because if I'm successful and the spotlight's on me, then people will be able to say whatever they want about you, right? "Psycho killer, madman" -- whatever, just because we're a couple.

Jonathan: Ava, no, I am doing this all for you right now, ok? Not for me.

Ava: Right, so you're saying no because you think that's best for me?

Jonathan: I'm saying no -- I know, J.R. Chandler, ok? And I know exactly how he can --

Ava: Shut up about J.R.! This isn't about J.R. It's about me and my future and my career.

[Glass shatters]

Zach: You're going to have your hands full with that one.

J.R.: Yeah, well, she probably just found out that her boyfriend's not financing my network. Can we just get back to the money? What is it that you want?

Zach: What I want is enough of Greenlee's shares in Fusion so I can force her out.

J.R.: And how can I do that for you?

Zach: You're going to talk her into handing them over.

Ava: Ok, Jonathan, but don't think that I'm going to forget about this. I'm going to write about this in my autobiography, that I had the chance to have my own network by the time I was 20. This is the biggest mistake of your life.

Jonathan: Hey, hey, hey. Are you done?

Ava: Now you think I'm a big brat, right? I know you do. I know you do.

Jonathan: I don't think you're a big brat.

Ava: It's just -- I wanted this really bad. You know how cool that would have been?

Jonathan: Ava, I know how badly you wanted this. I want this for you, too.

Ava: Whatever. I'll -- I'll just do it on my own. I'm independent, I always was. I don't need you or anybody else.

Jonathan: You're right, you don't. But I'm glad that you asked me for help, because I want to help you, not to control you, Ava. And not to keep you from chasing your dreams.

Ava: Those are nice words, Jonathan. But if you actually meant them, we wouldn't be having this conversation right now. I want more, now.

Jonathan: Ok, how much more? How much more is it going to take for you to be satisfied?

Ava: Um, how about a beauty network with my name on it?

Jonathan: Ava, seriously, how much more? What if you had all the money, the awards, all the fame in the world? Would that be enough? Would that be enough to make you feel loved?

Ava: This is not about me feeling loved.

Jonathan: Are you sure about that?

Ava: Yeah. This is -- yeah, I just -- I want to be somebody important. I want to be rich. I want to have money. I want to be able to do what I want, when I want. And I don't want to have to ask anybody for anything ever again.

Jonathan: But I loved it when you asked me for help. I did.

Ava: So you can just say, "No, Ava, that's -- that's not what I think is best for you" and say no. Don't you think that's a little controlling?

Jonathan: No, I don't. I think that's me trying to take care of you. And I really don't see what's so bad about that.

J.R.: I think your desperation to get your wife away from Greenlee has got your judgment clouded.

Zach: No, Junior, I've thought about this more than you know.

J.R.: Well, if you thought about it enough, you wouldn't have come to me.

Zach: That's precisely why I came to you. You're the one person that Greenlee won't connect to me.

J.R.: Look, I can sweet-talk just about anyone, Greenlee from a chunk of her beloved Fusion? It's going to take a lot more than a smooth pitch.

Zach: It's a matter of exploiting human nature, giving a person what they want more than anything else in life. For example, when you pretended to be kidnapped, I ended up with Chandler Enterprises. Because your daddy came to me because he wanted something more than anything else in life -- you. His precious namesake, alive and well and living in Pine Valley.

J.R.: $3 million isn't worth this crap.

Zach: Take it or leave it.

J.R.: What does Greenlee want that I can give her?

Zach: It's not what you can give her, it's what I can give her.

[TV show voices, woman screams]

Greenlee: Oh!

Man: They're not here. The place is empty now.

Greenlee: Ok, get a grip, Greenlee. It's just the TV, and the ink from these tattoos is sinking into your brain.

[Greenlee turns off the TV and goes in the shower while Kendall puts a disc into Greenlee's laptop]

Ryan: Hello? Hello, can you hear me? Is there anybody there? The house phones are down, I can't get through to anybody on my cell phone. Ok, what I'm going to do is I'm going to go out, and I'm going to find somebody that can get us home tonight, ok? You going to be all right? I won't be long.

Annie: I just want to go home, Ryan. Please get us home.

Ryan: And I'm doing everything I can. I'm doing everything that I can, ok? Ok.

Children's voices: Ring around the rosie a pocket full of posies ashes, ashes we all fall down

Richie: Oh, you just passed the Wes test. Any girl who can nosh on some good old American junk food is a girl I have to spend more time with.

Babe: Well, this is the first test I've ever taken that didn't make me break out in a cold sweat. Although I may break out with a horrible case of acne down the line.

Richie: With a perfect face like that? Not a chance.

[Phone rings]

Babe: I'm going to grab that. Julia, hey, what's up?

Julia: Babe, I'm so sorry to bother you. I'm in a huge bind, and I've called just about everybody I can think of.

Babe: Yeah, well, what's going on?

Julia: Well, Annie phoned, and she was concerned about Emma, and I told her that everything was ok. But -- we had a really bad connection, and I don't think she could hear me when I told her that Kathy was sick. And I'm just afraid of Emma catching whatever it is that Kathy has and Annie killing me, so -- well, I was wondering, could Emma come and stay with you and Little Adam tomorrow?

Babe: Absolutely, yeah.

Julia: Thank you. Are you sure, though? I would call Kendall and Zach, but they're -- you know, they got so much going on right now.

Babe: No, no, no, no. Please, please don't bother them. You know what? I would love to watch Emma, and Little A would love to have a play date.

Julia: Oh, that is so great. Thank you. You're a lifesaver.

Babe: It's not a problem, really. Hey, if you get through to Annie again, will you just let her know that Emma will be safe with me, not to worry?

Julia: Ok. Oh, and you get a guard as part of the package.

Babe: Ok. Hey, it really does all sound good. We'll just -- we'll talk later, ok? All right, bye.

Richie: Sounds like somebody just got hired to play babysitter.

Babe: Yeah, it's for my friend Annie. She has this little girl, Emma. She's really so sweet.

Richie: When do you watch her?

Babe: Tomorrow. Absolutely.

Richie: You're going to have your hands full. Two little kids?

Babe: Oh, I'm not worried about it. I mean, it'll be fun. We'll picnic. We'll play in the park. We'll do all sorts of things.

Richie: Sounds like my kind of day.

Babe: What, are you applying for the assistant babysitting job?

Richie: Yeah, I could be. You know I love playing with Little A, and I'd love to meet Emma. What do you say?

J.R.: What could you possibly give Greenlee that she'd give up all of her shares of Fusion? Ryan Lavery's clone?

Zach: You're not far off.

J.R.: This is getting more intriguing by the second. Let's see -- Greenlee almost killed Spike in that automobile accident when she tried to kidnap him. Wait a minute, Kendall would never give up her firstborn.

Zach: You're getting warmer.

J.R.: I'm still not seeing how this works. You can't give Greenlee Ryan, and you can't give Greenlee Ryan's kid. Or can you?

[When Greenlee's blow dryer stops, Kendall removes the disc from the laptop and leaves. After Greenlee turns on the TV, she again picks up the scissors then hears a knock on the door.]

[Greenlee sighs when she sees Aidan]

Aidan: Well, what you going to do, stab me or something?

Greenlee: No, sorry, sorry, sorry. I just, um -- you know, single girl living alone. You can never be too careful.

Aidan: All right.

Greenlee: So, Mr. Cryptic, come on. What happened at the office?

Aidan: Ryan was supposed to send me something, but it never came. He did say there was a storm headed to his island, you know, the one that he was on, but -- so maybe the power got cut off.

Greenlee: What do you mean, "send you something"? What's up with being all vague? Need I remind you that I'm the one who dressed up as the motorcycle mama, and it was me who found the picture of Richie in the first place.

Aidan: Which I am sure you will never let me forget.

Greenlee: Ok, then, spill.

Aidan: So we sent him that picture, right? So he played around with it on his computer, cleaned it up a little. Annie ID'd the guy as her brother.

[Greenlee gasps]

Greenlee: We were right. Ha-ha! So, you ready to hire me full-time?

Aidan: Ha-ha. I don't think you're going to pass the psychiatric test. And I'm a little bit concerned that you opened the door with a pair of scissors in your hands.

Greenlee: Like I said, it was just a safety precaution.

Aidan: Right. I think you're talking rubbish, Greenlee.

Greenlee: I was going to cut my hair?

Aidan: Nah.

Greenlee: I think someone was here.

Babe: It's not that I don't want the company. It's just --

Richie: Perfect, because tomorrow is my day off.

Babe: You're serious?

Richie: I know this great place out of town. I'll pack a picnic lunch, and I'll take it easy on the junk food for the growing kids. And they can run around, they could play. They'll have a blast. And I am pushing again, aren't I?

Babe: No.

Richie: I have a tendency to do that.

Babe: No, no, no, no.

Richie: Just ignore me.

Babe: Please, really, you aren't being pushy. You're -- you're blowing my mind. I mean, what single guy wants to spend his day off with a couple of screaming preschoolers?

Richie: Actually, I wanted to spend time with screaming preschoolers' mom/babysitter. But, yeah, to answer your question, that'd be me. So what do you say, do we have a date?

Babe: You, me, Little Adam, and Emma, we have a date.

Children's voices: Ring around the rosy a pocket full of posies ashes, ashes we all fall down ring around the rosy a pocket full of posies ashes, ashes we all fall down we all fall down ring around the rosy a pocket full of posies ashes, ashes we all fall down

Richie: Hey!

Annie: I win!

Richie: You cheated.

Annie: Did not.

Richie: You sat before I said "down."

Annie: What are you doing, Richie? Stop, you're breaking her!

Richie: Ooh, you broke it. I'm telling Mom.

Annie: You did it!

Richie: You broke it on purpose.

Annie: I did not, you did.

Richie: Mommy, Daddy, look what Annie did.

[Annie cries]

[Door opens]

Ryan: Annie? You all right?

Annie: We have to find him, Ryan. We have to stop Richie.

Ava: Taking care of me? Makes me sound kind of needy, doesn't it?

Jonathan: That's not what I'm saying.

Ava: Look, I'm just looking for someone not -- who will be, you know, supportive in my career, encourage me and believe in me.

Jonathan: I do believe in you. Honey, I am your biggest fan.

Ava: Right, except for when you have the opportunity to make me really successful, you don't.

Jonathan: I want all of your dreams to come true, every one of them, and I want to be there when they do. And I know that you can do it on your own, that you don't need me taking care of you. But I don't want you to have to do it on your own anymore, and I want to be there with you when all these great moments are happening -- always.

Ava: Always?

Jonathan: This is -- this is going to kind of come out of the -- out of the blue for you, but it's something I've been thinking a lot about. Ava, I -- I don't want this life without you. Be my wife.

Greenlee: I don't know why I think someone was here. I can't explain it. It's -- it's just a feeling I have.

Aidan: Well, does anything look out of place?

Greenlee: No.

Aidan: Not that you'd notice anyway. I mean, how long have those socks been there?

Greenlee: Not that long.

Aidan: You know what I think?

Greenlee: Yes, that I'm nuts.

Aidan: Yes. And maybe this Eddie Johnson-Richie Novak stuff is making you a little bit freaked out.

Greenlee: Probably.

Aidan: You know, I could always stay the night and, you know, sleep on the couch. I just want to make sure that you feel safe.

Greenlee: Ok. Thank you.

[While Greenlee and Aidan make out on the couch, Kendall remotely accesses Greenlee's computer]

Kendall: "Dear Spike, remember me? It's Greenlee. I miss you so much."

Babe: Hey, Julia, it's Babe. I just wanted to let you know I'll be by around noon tomorrow if that's good. Also, I'm going to be taking the kids out for the day, so I'll probably just have Emma stay the night with us, if that's all right. And if you do talk to Annie, please tell her not to worry. Emma is going to have a great time with Little A. What else? Oh, yeah. I'm going to be bringing a friend, if that's cool. Well, I guess it is kind of a date, but you know him. He's the bartender at The Comeback -- Wes? He's a really great guy. Um -- well, I guess that's it. Call me if there's anything else, and I'll see you tomorrow. Bye.

Annie: You don't understand how cruel Richie can be, Ryan. If he gets anywhere near Emma --

Ryan: He won't, he won't. Emma is with Julia, and there's a guard there. She's safe.

Annie: He used to go on these wilderness treks with other boys when he was little, like an Outward Bound kind of program?

Ryan: Don't do this to yourself.

Annie: And this one summer, a little boy drowned. He was alone in the lake with Richie. My brother did it, I know it.

Ryan: Was it ever investigated?

Annie: No, no. They thought it was just an accident, but after the boy died, Richie started spending more and more time with his parents -- the little boy's parents. And the more time he spent with them, the parents started to think of him as, like, another son. It was like Richie was so jealous of this little kid that he took his life -- literally. He just took it, for himself, so do you see? Do you see how dangerous he is? Do you see why we need to get home soon?

Ryan: I do, I do, I do, I do, and I'm doing everything in my power, I swear to you, but -- it doesn't look like we're going to be able to get back tonight.

Annie: What? We're stuck here. No! We cannot be stuck here, Ryan! See, Richie did this. It's like he started this storm, he created this storm, so that he would have Emma to himself, and we won't be able protect her.

Ryan: Annie, Annie, Annie --

Annie: We have to go home!

Ryan: Annie, it's ok. Don't let him do this to you, ok? We're going to go home, and tomorrow, we're going to go and see Emma, and we're going to hug her and we're going to kiss her and -- Annie?

Annie: I'm just -- I'm so cold.

Ryan: Ok, ok. Ok. Ok.

[Richie lets himself into Ryan and Annie's place and gets himself a drink. Then he picks up a photo of Emma]

Richie: Hmm. Hello, little Emma. You don't know me yet, but I'm your Uncle Richie.

[Richie laughs]

Jonathan: You know, ever since I met you, there's been this electricity between us, and at first, it scared the hell out of me. Now I'm completely addicted to it. Ava, I want you with me, always. And I'm not saying that we're going to have a perfect life together, but I do believe that we'll make it through the tough times, because I believe that we belong together. And no matter what your future holds, no matter what our future holds, no matter how big of a star you become, it doesn't matter, because I will always be there to cheer you on. I never want to lose you. Marry me, Ava.

[Ava takes off]

Jonathan: Ava!

J.R.: How could you give Greenlee Ryan's kid? I know you could never convince him to take her to bed. And I don't think he could have a kid. And all of Greenlee's fertilized eggs have been destroyed in that blackout that you caused. You did destroy those eggs, didn't you?

Zach: Did I? Let me know what you decide.

Kendall's voice: "I wish I could see you in person, Spike, but Kendall and Ryan won't let me. They think I'm a threat to you, that I'll hurt you again somehow. They don't know how much I love you. I could never hurt you intentionally. You're my dream come true, literally. We're connected in a way no one will ever understand. Since I can't be with you just yet, I'm going to document my thoughts on here. That way, when we're finally reunited, you'll know you never left my mind or my heart. Don't give up hope, Spike. We won't be separated much longer. Soon I'll have you back in my arms -- mommy and baby together again. Soon, forever. That's a promise."

[Once finished typing, Kendall sends the file to Greenlee's computer]

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Krystal: What do you want?

Adam: A few moments alone with the owner of this establishment.

Lily: You asked Ava to marry you.

Jonathan: Yeah.

Annie (to Ryan): We have to go home today. If we don't, it'll be too late.

Richie: Ready for the big event?

Babe: We're going to have so much fun.

Richie: You have no idea.
