Erica: How do you always know what I need?
Jack: Hmm. Years of practice.
Erica: Listen, I didn't mean to worry you when I called. I've been trying to stay so positive for Kendall and the boys.
Jack: You know, sweetheart, that's ok. It's ok for you to need someone, too.
Erica: You know, part of me thought that you and I might never make love again in our suite.
Jack: Bite your tongue. There's a lot of -- we need moments like that, you know?
Jack: A little joy for ourselves right in the middle of the world around us going crazy, just you and me.
Erica: Just you and me.
Jack: Yeah. Yeah.
Zach: I can't get enough of this kid. He was looking at my skates again. Never gives up.
Kendall: Ah, well, it runs in the family.
Zach: Yeah, that's the truth. What do you think? You want that?
Zach: Join me in a nightcap. Cheers. Want this one? Nah. What, you've never seen a man drink out of a pink cup before?
Kendall: Oh, goodness.
Kendall: You know what, Zach? You -- you really called me out. You really let me have it. Thank you.
Ryan: Come here. Do you feel this? This is our safe place, so whatever it is that you have to tell me, you can -- you can tell me here.
Annie: Kiss me.
Ryan: Oh -- ok. I mean, I -- I would love to, but why now?
Annie: You may never kiss me the same after this. You may never kiss me again.
Krystal: You can't fool me, Mr. Chandler.
Adam: [As Stuart] Uh, Krystal, I -- I don't know what you're saying.
Krystal: You can't --
Adam: I'm not trying --
Krystal: You can't hide it, so don't even try.
Adam: You know, it's -- it's late. I think -- I think I'm --
Krystal: No, no, just stop it right there.
Krystal: I know exactly why you're here, and it has nothing to do with painting.
Krystal: You're here because of the baby. Hmm?
Krystal: You've fallen under Jenny's spell, huh? Just another fool in love, aren't you?
J.R.: Don't worry about it.
Amanda: How the hell did you buy this thing in the first place? With -- with your good looks?
J.R.: I thought that I'd have the money by now. That's how rich people handle things.
Amanda: Ok, well, note to J.R. -- you're not rolling in the Benjamins anymore.
J.R.: Well, as soon as I get things going, I'm going to be rolling in plenty of Benjamins and so will you.
Amanda: Oh, right -- your big Ava web network thing, your pot of gold at the end of the media rainbow.
J.R.: Once I get the financing together, this yacht is as good as mine.
Amanda: You're a scammer, you got caught -- end of story.
Man: Everything appears to be in order.
Man: We won't charge you with anything if you'd just remove yourselves from the yacht.
Amanda: I'm getting dressed. I am so out of here.
Man: That sheet stays with the ship, miss.
Amanda: I could kill you, J.R.!
Greenlee: Why did you ask me to join you?
Erica: To have dinner with us -- why else?
Greenlee: Well, that would make us a normal family and that would make you someone who isn't spending every waking moment planning my exit from Pine Valley.
Erica: Oh, Greenlee, you give yourself far too much credit. I hardly think of you at all.
Jack: Ok. Here's the deal -- I'm not going to make demands, and I'm not going to beg, but I don't think it's too much to ask for you two to be able to sit at a table and enjoy dinner.
Jack: And it would mean so much to me if you could do that -- can you do that, hmm?
Erica: Of course.
Greenlee: Yes, for you.
Jack: Wonderful. Anybody want to start with an appetizer?
Kendall: I didn't trust you and Ryan. I was pulling a typical Kendall, and that was wrong. I don't know what happened. I mean, I really -- I thought I was past all of that stuff.
Zach: That's where I come in.
Kendall: How do you know me better than I know myself?
Zach: I don't know -- I make it a point to know everything about all the things I love -- hockey and the kid and my wife -- not in that order, so --
Kendall: Yeah, right -- hockey first, right.
Zach: How often do you give him the vitamins?
Kendall: Well, five drops three times a day. They'll boost his immune system and help him eliminate toxins and get rid of impurities and all that good stuff. And then, Dr. Hilliard will move on to the next step.
Zach: What's that?
Kendall: One day at a time, like you tell Spike about hockey -- ooh, thirsty much? Fundamentals first. Get it now?
Zach: I get you want to do whatever you can to make him better. Got a dedicated mom, that kid.
Kendall: Ok, you know what, Mr. Man? I think it is time to go to beddy-bye. You are -- you are just -- it's time, it's time, so we're going to go. You're doing so good --
Zach: Ok, I want to help you.
Kendall: No, no, no, no. You stay, you stay -- I got this. Stay and -- and don't move. Just do not move. Stay. Come on. Say good night to Daddy.
Ryan: Annie, let me help you.
Annie: On the plane, that article that you found about my dad on your computer?
Ryan: Yeah. Why -- why did you get so upset? What -- what happened to your father?
Annie: I can't.
Ryan: Hey, hey. Do you trust me?
Annie: I do.
Ryan: Yeah? Then trust me to listen.
Annie: When my dad got hurt, that's when everything fell apart. It was like my family crashed out that window, too. I didn't ever want to think about it again, and I didn't want you looking into it. I just -- I don't want to lose you, too.
Ryan: Annie, it's not going to happen. It's not going to happen. Ok. Now, tell me what happened to your father.
Annie: When my mom died, it just got worse.
Ryan: Did the fall happen around the same time?
Annie: No, she died after when I -- my dad was so angry at me, it was never the same.
Ryan: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What -- does your father somehow blame you for your -- for your mother's death? Why would he do that?
Annie: Because I killed her.
Ryan: You couldn't have killed your mother, Annie. You could never.
Annie: I did. My mother is dead because of me.
Ryan: I know you, Annie.
Annie: No -- Ryan, you know the things I've wanted you to know. You don't know the real me -- no one here knows the real me.
Ryan: Look, Annie, everybody comes from somewhere, ok? You can't possibly be that different than the woman that I know. Look, your father -- when he fell, was -- was he drunk?
Annie: No, no, it was nothing like that.
Ryan: I know how that goes, you know?
Annie: My dad never wanted to talk about what happened.
Ryan: Now, the paper said that he fell but that it was under investigation.
Annie: The investigation went nowhere. He told the police it was an accident, and we were never allowed to talk about it.
Ryan: But what about your mom? I mean, your mom must've known the real story.
Annie: I -- I tried talking to my mom, but it was no use. She just -- she would shut down.
Ryan: And your father?
Annie: Dad used his deafness as, like, a refuge after that. Whenever anybody would bring it up, he would pretend that he hadn't read their lips and just turn the other way. He didn't hear me. He never -- he never wanted to hear me. And I tried, I tried to tell him.
Ryan: What -- what? What -- what happened?
Annie: My mom and I got in a horrible fight, the worst we'd ever been. It was -- it was ugly and the things she said to me, it was just -- it was awful. I can still hear them.
Ryan: Ok. Ok. So, some -- some things that parents say never go away. Annie? How did your mother die?
Annie: She killed herself -- because of me, because of what I did. Oh. What I did to my family that day, the way I hurt them -- I might as well have handed her that rope and tied it over the beam and helped her lift her hand up and --
Ryan: You found her? You found your mother after --
Annie: God, we said such awful things. We were screaming and screaming until we were hoarse and then I -- I left. I left her, and I went to my room, and I slammed the door! And it was quiet, it was so quiet in the house. You could've -- you could've heard anything, and I -- I don't know why I didn't hear --
Annie: Oh, then I -- I went to find her. I went to find my mom. I went to try to make her understand or apologize or something. But -- when I got there, it was too late. She was just --
Ryan: You didn't kill your mother, Annie.
Annie: I did, Ryan. It was my fault, twice -- once for driving her to it, and then for not finding her in time. That's why my father blames me.
Ryan: It was not your fault.
Annie: No. No, he's right. He's right -- I drove her to it, because of what I did to my brother.
Zach: What took you so long?
Zach: Hey, you going somewhere?
Kendall: Not exactly.
Zach: You told me to wait, so I waited.
Kendall: I know you did, and you -- you really are a -- you're a very, very, very, very, very good boy.
Zach: Oh -- ha! Nice, um, shoes.
Kendall: Thanks. Yeah, they're my -- my lucky heels.
Zach: You think you'll get lucky tonight?
Kendall: Well, I don't know that -- I hope so. I -- I have a date tonight.
Zach: Anyone I know?
Kendall: I don't know. He's this really sexy, tough, rugged, very handsome guy.
Zach: So I don't know him.
Zach: What's under the coat -- anything?
Kendall: I don't know. Um -- why don't you help me out of it --
Kendall: And you'll find out.
Kendall: Ok, let's go.
Zach: So, um --
Kendall: So, uh -- oh, yeah, that's good. Oh, that's -- that's good, too. Ahem -- excuse me. I'll be right back. Ahem.
[Kendall whistles and chuckles]
Kendall: Oh, gosh -- what do we have here? I don't know. I -- I just --
Zach: Oh, oh!
Kendall: Don't know.
Zach: Oh -- oh.
Kendall: Ha. I think I'm just going to get out of this coat. It's -- it's a little hot. Yeah -- oh, oh! Look at that. Huh.
Kendall: Go, Red Wings. Hmm.
Zach: Come here. Call your date. You're not going anywhere tonight.
J.R.: Actually, I was checking out the sloop down the dock -- you know, the pretty lady in slip six?
Man: You don't want that one.
J.R.: Why is that? Because it's bigger? It's in better shape? Costs the same amount of money? Or is it because you guys don't own it?
Man: If you can't afford to buy this, how are you --
J.R.: The Chandler name is the best platinum card. Now, if you don't want the opportunity or the publicity, I will go with your competitor. He'll take my IOU. Come along, darling. We'll be onboard by breakfast.
Man: Wait. Maybe we can work something out.
Adam: [As Stuart] The mansion is just so, so empty and so quiet. Adam's there all by himself, no -- no Colby bolting in and out or no -- no family dinners. Just makes me sad for him.
Krystal: You know what? You and your brother couldn't be any more different.
Adam: Well, we're a lot more alike than you think.
Krystal: No, no. Adam treats his family like possessions, you know -- things to own and control and, well, you treat your nearest and dearest with nothing but love. You give them room to -- to grow and -- and make a mistake.
Adam: Oh. Adam loves his children.
Krystal: You know, even though Scott isn't your flesh and blood, you adore him. Adam is not capable of that kind of unconditional love.
Adam: No, that's not true, that's not true. He -- he loves and misses Skye. He -- he can accept her just as if she were his own.
Krystal: And what if the child is Tad's?
Adam: Well -- huh -- Jenny's a very special little girl. Yeah -- she laughs at my jokes. At least I think she does.
Krystal: Oh, my God. I -- I know that look. That's the way Adam looked when he talked about Charlotte.
Adam: Uh --
Erica: Mine's delicious.
Greenlee: You know, the chicken -- it just showed so much promise on the menu, but now that I have it, I -- I feel sorry for it, you know?
Jack: Would you like me to get you something else?
Greenlee: No, because why should you have to pay for my mistakes? I don't want to torture everyone -- you don't feel tortured, do you, Erica?
Erica: It'd take a lot more than you, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Well, then maybe you want to go for a ride in my back seat, like you mentioned.
Jack: Ok, ok, ok, that's enough. That's enough. When I said sit and enjoy dinner, I didn't mean by hurling taunts at each other.
Greenlee: Well, that's just an unexpected perk.
Erica: Greenlee and I had a very honest conversation at Fusion.
Greenlee: It was a real pleasure, let me tell you.
Erica: Greenlee clearly just can't let it go, even for you, Jack.
Greenlee: Do you even listen to her anymore or you just tune her out like I do?
Jack: Ok, Greenlee, listen to me.
Jack: Erica is always going to be protective of Kendall and her family -- that's a reality.
Greenlee: Thank you for that update.
Jack: And here's another reality -- Greenlee's my daughter. And whether you see it or not, she is trying to make peace with Kendall.
Erica: Greenlee has yet to bring anything but pain to Kendall and her boys.
Jack: Erica, please, we're not going to get into that.
Greenlee: Ok, Jack, don't even bother. It's not worth it.
Jack: You know, Greenlee was devastated when she couldn't get the doctor she wanted to help Spike.
Greenlee: Who told you about Hilliard?
Jack: Well, you did.
Erica: Excuse me -- what doctor?
Greenlee: No, I didn't.
Jack: Yes, you did. When you went back into the hospital, I came by, you told me. You don't remember that?
Greenlee: Oh. That's not true. Who's going around spreading my personal business?
Erica: Who is the doctor, Greenlee? How are you planning to torture our family now?
Ryan: A brother? You never mentioned anything.
Annie: I didn't want you to know.
Annie: Richie was everything that was wrong with our family, but nobody else could see it. My parents, they would just make excuses for him, like if he was pushing around a kid until he broke a wrist, they were just boys being boys. And if -- if we couldn't find the neighbor's cat, there's no way Richie was involved. It was like Richie, he was -- he was this force, and he was cute and adorable and charming and funny. He was so funny, he could -- he could make you laugh until your sides hurt. But then he could turn it off, and then it was like a light went out, and he could be cruel. He could just be truly cruel.
Ryan: God, I'm -- I'm sorry, Annie.
Annie: When we got older, it got worse. The more charming he got, the more he was -- he was capable of, but my parents, they called him "special." "Spirited" -- "spirited" was the word they used, precocious, a -- a born leader. It wasn't Richie's fault if the other kids couldn't keep up.
Ryan: Well, did you ever talk to them about your brother?
Annie: I tried -- yes, I tried. I sat them down, and I told them how I felt, and my dad said that I was the sick one. And my mom said that I was just jealous. And they said that Richie had gifts, and we needed to encourage them.
Ryan: And it got worse, didn't it?
Annie: I kept my mouth shut. But I was always worried that someone would get seriously hurt. I knew, I just knew.
Ryan: And someone did.
Annie: My father.
Ryan: Richie pushed your father out the window.
Annie: My dad never said it, and Richie always denied it, but I just knew. And there's my dad sitting in a hospital bed, cut up and bruised and deaf, and he still defended Richie. I had to protect myself, I had to protect my family.
Ryan: Why didn't anybody else see Richie this way?
Annie: Because he just -- Richie was so smooth. He could make -- he could make you feel so special and so important, but he could also make you feel like everything was your fault and that he had done nothing wrong, that you -- that you had just imagined everything.
Ryan: Annie, you did not imagine this, ok? Your brother had problems, all right? I mean, both my brothers struggled with things, and I blamed myself, but it wasn't my fault and -- and this was not your fault.
Annie: But you helped Jonathan get better.
Ryan: Well, what did you do about your brother?
Annie: I testified against him in court as my mom screamed and sobbed. I had him put in jail for 10 years -- that was the day my mother killed herself.
Kendall: Yeah. Hmm.
Kendall: Mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, mm-hmm, yes, that's what I want. Come over here. Give me some of that.
Annie: The DA said that if I testified against Richie, they would put him in a mental hospital. That was the deal -- they would get him the help that my parents refused to get him.
Ryan: I completely get that. I mean, when I thought that I killed Jonathan, it -- it tore me up inside for the longest time, but there's no way that I was going to let him hurt anybody else.
Annie: You don't understand -- this is different. I got on that stand and I -- I told the court that I saw Richie commit armed robbery and assault. And they -- they found him guilty, but the DA -- they didn't put him in an institution. They pressed for hard time and they-- they sent him to prison, not a hospital, not to get help, all because of me.
Ryan: You were trying to help your brother and your family.
Annie: I took away their only son.
Ryan: No. No, you -- you didn't, Annie. He did that. He's responsible for the things he did, not you. Don't -- don't do what they did. Don't make excuses and take responsibility.
Annie: If I hadn't, she would still be here.
Ryan: You don't know that. Why didn't you tell me this earlier? Why? This isn't something that you have to deal with alone -- you shouldn't.
Annie: I loved my mom so much.
Ryan: I know. I know, but one fight, one moment doesn't push somebody to suicide. Nothing that happened to your parents is your fault.
Annie: You don't know.
Ryan: It's not your fault, Annie. It's not your fault. It's not. It's not. Is -- is this what you were afraid of? You afraid that your brother got out of prison, he's the one making those phone calls?
Annie: No, I -- I called. I called the prison, and they said that Richie was still there. I don't know if it's my dad or --
Ryan: Do you really think that he would -- he would do that?
Annie: I don't -- I don't know. I don't think so. Maybe Richie has people on the outside, maybe Richie has somebody in Pine Valley.
Ryan: Well, we'll find out. I swear to you -- I swear that I will not let anybody near you or our family.
Annie: You can't guarantee that.
Ryan: Yes, I can. You were trying to help your brother. You went up on that stand, and you told the truth -- you are a hero.
Annie: No, I'm not. I lied. I got my brother put away for something he didn't do. My mother is dead because of my lie.
Greenlee: Well, I knew Kendall wouldn't listen if I went to her, so I asked Hilliard to call Kendall. Me -- I got them in touch. But it all blew up, and Spike isn't going to get the help he deserves.
Erica: Oh, my God. You haven't stopped.
Jack: Erica, please don't attack her. Just listen for a second.
Erica: And, you -- I can't believe that you didn't tell me about this.
Jack: Greenlee was trying to get Spike some help. It didn't work out, it was a nonevent, Erica. It didn't even happen.
Erica: Are you purposely missing the point, Jack? Greenlee continues to try to insinuate herself into my daughter's life. She's deranged.
Greenlee: Hello, I'm still here!
Jack: How is what she tried to do deranged?
Erica: Oh, ok -- yeah. I'm done here. I'm -- I'm leaving. Val? I need you to help me find someone.
J.R.: Well, the yacht's all mine, baby. What do you say we ditch those clothes and get right back to business?
Amanda: Are you freaking kidding? You just got nailed for lying to me. Do you really think that screams "take me to bed"?
J.R.: Well, then we'll save the screams for later.
Amanda: You know what? You are a real beauty, J.R. You lied to that guy just like you lied to me.
J.R.: This yacht will be mine. It's just a matter of when.
Amanda: When all those mythical dollars appear?
J.R.: No myth, Amanda. This thing with Ava has cash written all over it.
Amanda: If you hadn't given your shares of Chandler to your daddy, then you would have the funds to buy this yacht and do your Ava thing.
J.R.: It's a speed bump, not a road block.
Amanda: Just go and ask Adam for your shares back.
J.R.: No! There's no way that I'm crawling to my dad. I mean, if Adam Chandler can create his empire from nothing, so can Adam, Jr.
Amanda: "The son also rises."
Amanda: It's a book I read in Junior High -- look, all right. Think about this, J.R. -- you need money and Adam has it. At this point, let's face it -- he will do just about anything to win you back.
J.R.: Yeah, I know. Yeah, that's true.
J.R.: Except for one thing -- I don't want to be won!
Amanda: J.R., come on.
J.R.: No, I'm serious. The whole reason for me leaving the family business was to get out from under his big thumb. And you want me to just slide right back into it -- well, no thank you.
Amanda: Well, think about capital, investors, public backing.
Amanda: I mean, you could get started right away. You could think of a solid plan, get it together. It would be the best idea you ever had.
J.R.: Say that again.
Amanda: Your best idea ever?
J.R.: I'm having a better idea right now.
Adam: [As Stuart] Adam and I have some of the same faces. Hmm.
Krystal: Yeah. Well, this one, I -- this one, I thought was unique. Adam was so excited about Charlotte. You remember those clothes he bought her? That rattle? Oh, God, slap me the next time I get lost in the past, will you? Oh.
Adam: I don't know what's so bad about being lost in the past. That's some of my favorite times.
Krystal: Yeah, well, my heart is here now. It's with the girls -- Babe and Colby and -- and Jenny.
Adam: How about Tad? Is he -- is he in your heart, too?
Krystal: I wish I could love him, but that part of my heart is still with Adam.
Krystal: But, it will be over, Stuart. I mean, it will be. And when that day comes, then I'll finally be free.
Adam: Do you want to be -- free?
Krystal: Yeah. Yeah. You betcha. And you know what? I can feel it. That day is coming soon.
Kendall: Promise me that you'll always be here.
Zach: If you promise me you'll always be honest with me.
Kendall: Always. Can I be honest with you right now?
Zach: Sure. Uh -- I thought you wanted to tell me something.
Kendall: I was. I was telling you.
Kendall: Yes, really.
Adam: [As Stuart] Will there always be a part of you, a little part of you, that loves Adam?
Krystal: Oh. You know, I've seen the way he looks at me, Stuart, and there's no love there -- not anymore. I mean, sure, he comes to The Comeback and -- and there's some pull, there probably always will be, but forgiveness? No. I think it's just his will to win. Huh.
Krystal: You see -- there you go again. It's people as prizes. I have to protect my own heart, and I have to protect Jenny.
Adam: Well, what if -- what if Adam still loves you?
Krystal: Oh, you know what? Even if I could forgive him for leaving me when I was in labor and even if I could forgive him for trying to get rid of Jenny, it wouldn't work.
Adam: Why not?
Krystal: Because he doesn't look at Jenny the way that you do.
Adam: Uh -- huh.
Krystal: Well. And, Stuart, thank you so much for being my friend. Oh. Hmm.
Adam: Well --
Adam: Bye, sugar. Uh -- I have to go. I've got to eat.
Krystal: Oh, ok. Good night, Stuart. Hey, thanks -- thanks again.
Adam: Thank you.
Annie: When Richie got arrested for something he didn't do, I lied. I was the star witness. I told them that I saw him rob this man at gunpoint and beat him violently. I didn't. I made it all up.
Ryan: Annie --
Annie: No, look at me, Ryan. Look at me, look who you're with. Look at me. I am a liar and a traitor and I have ruined lives, my family's. And I'd lie -- I'd lie to my husband. And I don't expect you to ever look at me again.
Ryan: Hey. I love you. I love you, and I will never stop. Our past is gone. All we have is the future, right? A future that I'm going to spend with you and our kids, a life that we've planned together -- that's what you deserve. You deserve that and more.
Annie: My past isn't over. This -- my mom was wearing this when she died. It fell and that's when it broke.
Ryan: And your father sent that to you?
Annie: I don't -- I don't think he would. It seems like something Richie would do. I look at it and it -- it all comes back.
Ryan: That's not your life, Annie. That's not, not with me -- not ever.
Annie: How do I let it go?
Ryan: I will not let your past hurt you again.
[Standing on the beach, Ryan helps Annie toss the pocket watch in the surf]
J.R.: Uncle Stuart. Hey.
J.R.: What's up?
Stuart: It's good to see you. Are -- are you and Adam speaking?
J.R.: Uh -- not exactly. Have you seen him?
Adam: [Normal voice] J.R. Ahem.
J.R.: Oh, hell, no.
Erica: Just who do you think you --
Kendall: Yes, yes, that -- oh, oh, I like that. Ok.
Zach: Oh, you like that?
Kendall: Ok, yeah, I do, but, honey, the -- the -- I'm -- turn the light out. Come on. Look, we need a mood here.
Zach: You want this light?
Kendall: Get a mood, yeah. Get that -- ow! Oh!
Kendall: Oh, nice! Oh, nice, but --
Kendall: Hey, but -- he heard that? Zach, Spike heard that. He heard that. He can hear. Spike can hear.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
J.R. (to Adam): Who are you trying to con into believing that you're a good guy?
Babe: Is it possible that you could be pregnant?
Erica (to Dr. Hilliard): You're a fraud and I have the power to bring you down.
Kendall: What just happened? What -- what's wrong with him?
Ryan: He's not breathing!
Kendall: What are you doing?
