Greenlee: Can I talk to you?
Kendall: Where's Spike? Where is Spike? Where -- what did you do to him this time?
Greenlee: Nothing. I didn't take him, I --
Kendall: Where is he? Where is he? Where's my son? Where is my son, Greenlee?
Nurse: It's all right, Mrs. Slater, Spike is with your husband. He said to let you know they were visiting Ian. Are you all right?
Kendall: Yes, yes. You look like hell.
Greenlee: It's been a long day.
Kendall: Yeah, not long enough. I just -- I just had a dream.
Greenlee: A good one, I hope.
Kendall: It was. You were the star -- and I killed you.
Greenlee: I am so sorry, Kendall. I am so sorry for everything.
Ryan: Whew. Hey, guys.
Babe: Hey --
Ryan: Do you know where Annie is?
Babe: We heard about Spike.
Di: Ryan, we're so sorry.
Di: How's Kendall doing?
Babe: How about you? How are you doing?
Ryan: We're all -- we're all hanging in.
Babe: Well, if there's anything that we can do at all --
Ryan: Yeah, actually. You could -- you could tell me where my wife is.
Di: How -- any news on Ian?
Ryan: He's a tough little guy. He's a tough little guy. Uh, look, Annie's not answering her cell, do either of you know where she is?
[Annie knocks on the door and signs to her father when he answers]
Annie: Hi, Dad.
Jonathan: No, huh? Ooh, you fooled me.
Ava: Last time I was here, they did try to kick me out.
Jonathan: Well, that was before you were a big hero. We can go somewhere else and eat if you --
Ava: Hell, no. I want to watch them squirm.
Jonathan: "Hell, no" -- ok.
Maitre d': Miss Benton. How lovely to see you.
Ava: Yeah, see me again. "Again" -- don't you remember, or did you forget?
Maitre d': I have my best table ready for you.
Jonathan: "Best table," huh?
Ava: Yeah, it better be. Ok, well, this view sucks. I want to sit over there.
Maitre d': Of course.
Singer: Where I should be
Jonathan: Here, allow me.
Singer: Life is so cold to me
Ava: Do you do that for everyone?
Jonathan: Well, the gents can get their own seats. Should I get another chair for your press clippings?
Ava: I just can't stop looking at this.
Jonathan: I can't stop looking at you.
Singer: It's like home to me
Jonathan: I'm glad that you're happy.
Ava: I am. I'm a supermodel -- it's freaking crazy.
Jonathan: I know -- who thought I'd be dating a supermodel?
Ava: "Dating"? Is that what we're doing?
Jonathan: I hope so.
Singer: I feel like I'm found out
Ava: It's just that I've never really dated. Um -- I'm not the dating type.
Woman: Excuse me. Could I --
Ava: Oh, me? Of course.
Woman: You are so brave and beautiful and even prettier in person.
Ava: Oh, thank you.
Singer: With your eyes open
Ava: What's your name?
Woman: Oh, my God, it's him.
Ava: What -- does J.R. Chandler have to follow me everywhere?
Greenlee: I heard about Spike.
Kendall: So you decided to come and check on your damages?
Greenlee: Well, Josh told me that --
Kendall: You can't stay away, can you? You can't stop shoving yourself into my life?
Greenlee: I know how badly I've hurt you, Kendall.
Kendall: Yes, and you're so sorry.
Greenlee: I don't even know where to start.
Kendall: Well, you can start with the why, as in, why in the hell are you still here?
Greenlee: Because I can't leave. You're here, my family's here. My --
Kendall: "Your family"? Are you kidding me?
Greenlee: My life -- it's here.
Kendall: You left your life before, do it again.
Greenlee: I can't -- I can't leave.
Kendall: How can you even be here? How can you even face me, knowing what you've done to my sons?
Greenlee: Because I have to tell you how sorry I am.
Kendall: Fine. Great. I heard every false syllable. Now, go, go.
Greenlee: I know that's not enough.
Kendall: You're damn right it's not. Just how sorry are you? Are you sorry enough to admit it? Are you sorry enough to tell the world that you were kidnapping my son when you almost killed him?
Babe: Maybe you guys just crossed paths on the way to the hospital.
Di: You know, we were here just looking over the projections --
Ryan: No, she's not at the hospital, because the nurses would've told her to call me. I -- I don't get it. Where did she go?
Babe: Is she with Emma?
Ryan: No. Rachael hasn't seen her since this morning.
Babe: Well, she probably hasn't been getting much sleep. Maybe she just dozed off, took a little nap or something.
Ryan: No, that's not like her. Look, I don't -- I don't have time to chase after her like this. I got to get back to my son.
Babe: Well, why don't you go? I'm sure she'll meet you at the hospital.
Ryan: Well, I'm not just going to wait around for her. I don't understand -- nobody's seen her at all? Nobody?
Babe: I -- no. I --
Ryan: She's not at the hospital, she's not with her daughter.
Di: Ryan, she's fine. Annie's fine.
Ryan: And how do you know?
Annie: Daddy? I need your help. This isn't about me. It's -- it's -- you're going too fast. But, Dad, I'm -- I'm out of -- I'm out of practice.
Annie's dad: I'm not out of practice.
Annie: Dad, please, you're going -- please slow down, please slow down.
Annie's dad: I'm not out of practice. Don't bother trying. I can read your lips, it's fine.
Annie: Will you help me, Daddy? Please?
Annie's dad: After what you did, how could I even look at you again?
Kendall: What was going on in that sick, twisted little mind of yours? "Hey, hey, don't mind Kendall's premature labor. Let's go, Spike. It's ok, it'll be fine."
Greenlee: No. Hear me out.
Kendall: Ok, or maybe -- or maybe -- maybe it was "This is the perfect way to stick it to Kendall and Ryan." Or how about -- how about "I'm so good at running away -- it worked for me last time"? Did you even think about what would happen next? Or were you going to figure it out at the gas station and just drive away as fast and crazy as you could?
Greenlee: No, I want Spike to be with his family, with the people who love him.
Kendall: You were not thinking about anybody who loved Spike.
Greenlee: Why won't you let me say I'm sorry?
Kendall: Because I'm done, Greenlee, I'm done with it. I -- I bought the "sorry" bit when you came back. You're like some old boyfriend of mine who hurts me every single time.
Greenlee: Please let me make it right, please let me make it up to you. You are my best friend -- I love you.
Kendall: Don't say that to me. Don't say that to me. That's -- that's a joke. That's a sick, pathetic joke.
Di: Annie just said she'd be out of the office for the rest of the day.
Babe: See, Ryan? She's fine. There's nothing to worry about.
Ryan: Well, then why isn't she answering her phone?
Babe: It could be anything. I mean, maybe she left it in her car -- I wouldn't worry.
Ryan: Where did she go, Di?
Di: Um -- you know, I did ask her if she was going to the hospital, and she did say no. She -- she said she had a million things that had piled up since Spike's accident -- I forgot to mention that, I'm sorry.
Ryan: You forgot?
Di: Yeah. Sorry.
Ryan: So our son's at PVH, and Annie is out doing errands. That doesn't make any sense.
Di: Annie said that she would call when she got back later tonight, ok?
Ryan: Got back from where?
Di: I -- I don't know. Um -- maybe, Ryan, she just didn't want to bother you.
Ryan: This bothers me.
Di: Um, listen, go -- just go give Spike a big -- a big hug for -- we -- we're swamped here. We need to get back to work.
Ryan: Di, what aren't you telling me?
Di: What -- what do you mean?
Ryan: Well -- look, I don't have time for this. I have to get back to my son.
Babe: You should go, and we'll let you know if we hear from Annie.
Ryan: So, in the meantime, I should just not worry? Look, if you know where my wife is, just tell me.
Di: Ok, she's doing research. She's -- she's trying to find ways to help Spike.
Ryan: That's it?
Di: That's what she told me.
Ryan: So why -- why the big secret? Why didn't she just tell me herself?
Di: I don't know. I'm sorry, Ryan, I'm sorry.
Ryan: Ok, wait -- whoa, whoa, there's -- there's definitely something weird going on here. Obviously, you know something you don't want to tell me. What is it?
Annie: I didn't come to you to ask for forgiveness.
Annie's dad: Good. You won't get it.
Annie: You still hate me?
Annie's dad: What do you expect?
Annie: I know I wasn't supposed to contact you again. I'm sorry.
Annie's dad: Then why are you here?
Annie: It's about a little boy. It's important.
Annie's dad: Why should I care?
Annie: This little boy just lost his hearing. He's going to need the same kind of help that you got, the same kind of help that we all got.
Annie: Mom's old --
Annie's dad: Don't touch that! Put it down.
Annie: We went to the beach and --
Annie's dad: Stop it.
Annie: And we went -- remember, she -- remember, she said the shells -- it was like the ocean polished the shells.
Annie's dad: I said, "enough." Get out!
Annie: The woman who helped you when you -- after you lost your hearing -- Elizabeth? Elizabeth something -- I don't remember her last name.
Annie's dad: You forgot a lot of things.
Annie: She helped you so much, Daddy. She -- she taught you ASL, she helped you deal with suddenly not being able to hear.
Annie's dad: What does Elizabeth have to do with you in my home?
Annie: She taught all of us, and I need her now, Daddy. Just a -- a last name, or -- or contact information -- and then I will leave you alone. Please, Daddy, this is not about me, it's about an innocent child.
Annie's dad: Innocent child? You come to me about an innocent child? You are a hypocrite. You, get out. Get out, and leave me alone.
[Music plays at the Yacht Club]
J.R.: Ok, ok, that's enough.
Amanda: Ooh, such a rock star.
J.R.: Do you want dinner or not?
Amanda: I don't know -- will your fans let us eat?
J.R.: Look at her over there. She's completely eating this up.
Amanda: Looks like your reckless -- some might even call it stupid -- intervention in that drug sting made you both famous.
Singer: You and me
J.R.: Do you think I like this?
Amanda: I can see our caption now -- "J.R. Chandler and unnamed date."
J.R.: Just give me a break, ok?
Amanda: As long as you promise to give me your special autograph later.
J.R.: You are a very bad girl.
Amanda: I know -- and you love it.
Ava: So, Junior, see anyone sketchy you want to bust?
J.R.: You mean, besides you?
Amanda: So, how's it going, Ava?
Ava: Well, how do you think it's going -- it's great. So, how does it feel to be famous?
J.R.: I don't know -- I always was kind of that way.
Photographer: Hey, you guys, let's get a shot of you two both?
J.R.: Yeah, no, thanks.
Ava: Quit being so lame and just say "Cheese," ok?
Amanda: Be patient, J.R. This is only going to last for 15 minutes.
Amanda: You'll figure it out one of these days.
J.R.: Ok, you know what? One picture, that's it.
Ava: Great -- ha -- it's for Fusion.
Photographer: Just the two of them, honey. Thanks, appreciate it.
J.R.: Far cry from streetwalking, huh?
Ava: Well, at least I'm making my money, right?
J.R.: Yeah. You know, for 20 bucks a throw, you must have hundreds of dollars saved up by now.
Amanda: Come on, get a little closer, you two.
Ava: Hey, did you get the call from "The Sun"?
J.R.: I don't do interviews.
Ava: Shut up and ride the wave, Chandler. I promise I won't tell anyone what a snake you really are.
Annie: I tried finding Elizabeth by myself. I searched the Internet, I called every hospital and EMT specialist in the area, and I could not track her down. Dad -- I didn't want to call you. You said no contact, and I -- I wanted to --
Annie's dad: Why are you still here?
Annie: I have no idea who Elizabeth is. I have no idea where she came from. But all I know is I -- I remember you saying that you hated life until Elizabeth, that she taught you how to live again.
Annie's dad: Oh, so I thought.
Annie: I need her now, Daddy. This little boy needs her. He's only a year old, and he doesn't understand why -- why there's no noise anymore, why the world went quiet. He doesn't -- he doesn't know what happened.
Annie's dad: Who is this boy to you?
Annie: He's my stepson, Daddy. I got married this year -- to a -- to a really wonderful, loving man. His name is Ryan Lavery, and he deserves the best. Please help me help him. Please.
Ryan: Why couldn't you tell me my wife is doing research?
Di: Annie wasn't sure if it'll work.
Ryan: Well, what kind of research is it?
Di: Living with deafness. She's been gathering information ever since it became a possibility.
Ryan: Right. Well, she's not the only one, but she seems to be the only one that's keeping it a secret.
Di: Ryan, it's -- it's no big deal, it's --
Ryan: If it was no big deal, she would've told me.
Di: She didn't want you to think that she was being negative.
Ryan: What --
Babe: Maybe she just didn't want to take away your hope.
Di: She -- she wanted to plan for all the options.
Ryan: And Annie couldn't tell me this?
Di: I -- I don't know.
Ryan: Look, I was in the room when the doctors said that Spike's condition was permanent, and it's not like I'm in denial.
Babe: Maybe she just wanted to plan first, right?
Di: Right -- she's trying to help you.
Ryan: No, no, this doesn't help, all right? This is not what I need. I need the truth.
Babe: Ryan, it's ok, calm down.
Ryan: So this is it, right? I mean, research -- that's it?
Di: I -- yeah, as far as I know.
Ryan: You have nothing else that you need to tell me?
Babe: Di, do you know where Annie's doing her research?
Di: No. Just that she'd give you a call.
Greenlee: I never meant for any of this to happen. I love Spike. I would've given my life to save him.
Kendall: You drove the car in the opposite direction -- away from his mother. We are here -- we are here right now because of you.
Greenlee: I have been praying every minute since the accident for Spike. I love that little guy.
Kendall: Shut up, shut up! Shut up.
Greenlee: And I thought my prayers had been answered! And then I heard that he was --
Kendall: Deaf. You can say the word, Greenlee. He's deaf. Permanently deaf.
Greenlee: I know, I know. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry.
Kendall: See -- again with that word. You feel guilty? You feel horrible? Good. Good, good, good! Great, that's great! You cannot hurt enough.
[Kendall sighs as she eyes a tray full of sharp scissors]
Kendall: You see -- ugh! You see this right here? This fun little thing right here plays music. It plays music, Greenlee. Spike can't hear it. Oh, this one -- this is really nice. This one -- it -- it giggles and wiggles, but -- uh -- nope, nope, nope, no laughter for Spike. And this one -- this is a real great one. This one -- um -- this one says "Mommy loves you." You want to hear it?
Kendall: Oh, well, you can hear it, Spike can't! He can't. Why -- because of you.
Greenlee: Please let me explain.
Kendall: Oh, oh -- oh, my God. Don't you dare pity me or feel sorry for my sons. You take your pathetic little apology, and you get the hell out.
Greenlee: No, I deserve this. I deserve this.
Kendall: Yeah, you're damn right, you do! You bet your ass, you do. You -- have you even bothered to ask about, um, my other son, Ian? You know, the premature one? The one who is fighting for his life right now?
Greenlee: Ok. I'm sorry. Of course, of course. How is he doing?
Kendall: That -- that is your fault, that's your fault!
Greenlee: What? No, no, you had contractions. That had nothing to do with me.
Kendall: The doctors had stopped the labor pains, everything was fine. And then I got news that Spike was missing with you.
Greenlee: No, no, that didn't cause it!
Kendall: Yes, yes, I lost it! I lost it -- listen to me, listen to me! I lost it. I lost it. I went into premature labor, and they had to deliver him. Greenlee -- two pounds.
Kendall: My son weighs less than two pounds! He -- he can't breathe by himself. Ok? I have to feed him with a tube. And they are now doing surgery on his tiny little heart. All of this, because of you.
Greenlee: No --
Kendall: You. You. Do -- do not make this about your pain and your suffering.
Greenlee: Here. This is what you're looking at, right? This is it? Well, do it, Kendall, do it. Just make your dream come true.
Jonathan: I hope that you'll remember all the little people when you're a big star and with a big boat of your own.
Ava: Don't worry. I got the game down pretty good so far. I know who my true friends are.
Jonathan: "Friends"? That's a start.
Ava: I mean, that's what we are, aren't we?
Jonathan: Yes, we are -- I'd like to think that we are.
Ava: It's just that with all the other guys I've dated, I'm not really -- we haven't been
Jonathan: I get it -- that this, uh, dating thing is kind of new for you.
Ava: Yeah, yeah.
Jonathan: Yeah, well, for me, too.
Jonathan: Yes. I'm nervous tonight.
Ava: Shut up. Really?
Jonathan: Yes. We, exactly, haven't had the best track record when it comes to dating. I mean, the first time was a no-show -- ahem -- second time --
Ava: I have a good excuse for that -- I got the Fusion gig.
Jonathan: Yeah, you had the shoot, I know.
Ava: And I -- I was feeling kind of weird dressed up like Lily.
Singers: I think I'll still
Jonathan: Well, the third time's the charm.
Ava: Hope so.
Singers: I'm gonna find my own way. I'm gonna find my own way
Jonathan: A toast --
Ava: To cash and major success?
Jonathan: To happiness.
Ava: Aren't they the same thing?
Singers: Always building love strong, so strong
Ava: Thanks for being so cool -- not getting annoyed at the press and the photographer and everything.
Singers: I'll live and learn from my mistakes
Singer: You're there with me
J.R.: You know, I almost feel sorry for whacked-out Jon Boy over there. She must be a nightmare to deal with.
Amanda: Well, he doesn't seem to mind.
J.R.: Did I tell you what she said to Lenny, the drug dealer, when he had his gun in her face? "I'm the face of Fusion."
Amanda: She's excited -- it's her first big job.
J.R.: Yeah, well, he told her that she could leave, but she didn't because she was insulted.
Amanda: Ava helped you get out, didn't she?
J.R.: Yeah -- unfortunately.
Amanda: Look, uh, do you want to split something? I'm not really that hungry anymore.
J.R.: Look at him, he's so whipped.
J.R.: Run while you can, man, while you have the chance.
Amanda: You know what I find hilarious?
J.R.: What's that?
Amanda: You, the heir of Pine Valley's most wealthiest family, is held up, kidnapped for the most insane amount of cash -- it barely makes the front page. But then you stumble upon some stupid drug sting gone bad with the face of Fusion, and suddenly, you are everywhere.
J.R.: We kept my kidnapping on the down low.
Amanda: Sure, you did. I just thought I'd point that out in case you start to feel a little too important.
Singers: I'll be so scared
J.R.: Do you think there's enough room for her ego when they're in the sack?
Singer: Find my own way
Kendall: I wish you'd never come back.
Greenlee: I wish that, too, sometimes.
Kendall: What do you expect from me, Greenlee? Forgiveness? Absolution?
Greenlee: I don't know.
Kendall: Stop. Please, please, just stop. Stop trying to make it better, stop with the excuses, please.
Greenlee: You know, when I thought I lost everything, Kendall, you got me through when I was hurt and sad and -- and angry that I lost my baby. You held me when I cried. Please let me do that for you.
Kendall: That was a long time ago.
Greenlee: But you used to feel the same.
Kendall: Are you kidding me? I don't want you in my life, Greenlee. I don't want you to be my friend.
Greenlee: But I don't want us to disappear. That doesn't have to change.
Kendall: It's too late, Greenlee. My life has changed forever, because my son's life has changed forever.
Greenlee: Please let me help you and Spike, please?
Kendall: They -- they cut him up and they pieced him back together, because of one selfish choice of yours. I can never forgive you for that, Greenlee, never.
Babe: So are we just not going to talk about this?
Babe: "What?" You lying to Ryan just now?
Babe: What's going on?
Di: I'm just being a good friend to Annie.
Babe: By lying to her husband?
Di: Ahem. What Annie said to me in confidence, it's just -- it's -- it's not my place to repeat that to Ryan, it's not my place.
Babe: Even if it hurts him?
Di: It won't.
Babe: And you know this because --
Di: Can we drop this, please?
Babe: This isn't just about Spike, is it? It --
Di: I'm going to set up a -- a conference call for the West Coast tomorrow. Is 3:00 ok with you?
Babe: Yeah, Di, don't blow me off. Come on, Ryan is worried, and maybe he has every right to be. I mean, Annie -- she never really talks much about her past, about anything before her life -- before Pine Valley, before her ex-husband.
Di: Ok, maybe -- maybe there's nothing to say.
Babe: Maybe there isn't, but it just -- it's a little odd when we all talk about anything from the past, and it's her turn, she just shuts down.
Di: Yeah? So?
Babe: So you know her better than any of us. I mean, what could really possibly be that bad?
Di: It can be worse than you can imagine. After what Annie's been through, she's allowed to bury her past as deep as she wants.
Annie's dad: Go to that address, ask for help there.
Annie: Thank you, Dad. You have no idea how much this means. I have a daughter, too, you know I named her after Mom. Emma is 5 years old now. I -- I brought this for you. You can keep it, you can put it on your refrigerator or something. I'm sorry, Daddy. I wish I could change things. God, I'm so sorry. I never meant to --
[After Annie leaves, her dad picks up Emma's picture]
Singer: He's headed off to California
Ava: I think I need a publicist, don't you?
Jonathan: What for?
Ava: I mean, to field all the opportunities I'm getting. I mean, a manager can only do so much. But there's -- I mean, there's celebrity blogs, there's the gossip columns, tabloids, style pages. I -- I need a stylist, too.
Jonathan: I think that you look great already.
Ava: Well, I better look great. I spent my whole first paycheck on this outfit.
Jonathan: I hope you didn't spend all of it.
Ava: No, there's more where that came from. You don't mind, do you?
Jonathan: I don't mind what?
Ava: That I cannot seem to shut up about myself.
Jonathan: No. No, no, no, no, no. Hey, I'm proud of you.
Ava: I'm so sorry that I brought that stupid singing elephant to the hospital.
Jonathan: I told you once, I'll tell you again -- it's ok. There's no harm done.
Ava: But you've been up there so much recently, hanging with your brother and your little nephew. You must be wrecked. And all I can seem to talk about is me, me, me, me, me.
Jonathan: No, it's --
Jonathan: It's really nice to hear some good news for a change. It's really nice to hear anything, I suppose. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. And I am so proud of you that you're making your dreams come true.
Ava: You really are a good guy, aren't you?
Jonathan: No. Not always. Not even close.
J.R.: You see, the whole thing about this, like, messed-up drug-bust sting is that everyone thinks that Ava and I are connected at the hip. That's why I keep talking to people about it. I have to tell these people that I don't know her, I don't hang out with her, I don't like her. But the big, bad Fusion PR machine keeps putting her in my face all the time.
Amanda: Hey, I am part of that big, bad machine. Do you see me pushing Ava on you?
J.R.: Look, all I'm saying is that if she evaporated tomorrow, I'd be happy.
Amanda: Just as long as you pay your hot date a little attention.
J.R.: "Hot date"? Where?
Amanda: Oh, ha, ha, ha. What are we doing here?
J.R.: Uh -- I'm just trying to kill time until I get you naked again.
Amanda: This -- I mean, what is this?
J.R.: No, no, this isn't some sort of state of the union thing, is it?
Amanda: I just want to know what my options are.
J.R.: Well, um, option A -- we go back to your place. Option B -- we get a room here, and we avoid the whole long drive.
Amanda: Ok, but say some hot guy asks me out, hmm?
J.R.: Is this about Lavery over there?
Amanda: Oh, God, no. I'm just wondering.
J.R.: We're having fun. A lot of fun. I just don't want to be whipped up like those two over there.
Amanda: Fun. I got it.
J.R.: Ok. Thanks.
Waiter: You're welcome.
J.R.: So, option A, or option B?
Amanda: Or option C.
[Amanda and J.R. laugh]
Kendall: You came back and freaked out about me stealing your life.
Greenlee: Because you all had changed and moved on. I didn't know how to act.
Kendall: Well, if you -- if your goal was to return the favor, and to hurt me as much as I hurt you -- well, congratulations, Greenlee. You did it. Only I never intentionally tried to hurt you. So, you feel good? You happy now?
Greenlee: No, of course not.
Kendall: You have taken away my dreams. And you almost succeeded in taking away both of my babies. Now, if there's anything that I can do to make you pay, I will. I swear to God, I will.
[Ryan walks in]
Ava: Hey, do I look ok? There are probably photographers outside.
Jonathan: You look great.
Ava: Let's go.
Jonathan: Let's. I need change, for the valet. I'll be right back.
[Ava practices writing her autograph on a napkin]
Ava: Ava --
J.R.: Hey, try writing this. "I need a burger and a beer."
Ava: No wonder Daddy has to pay for all your friends.
J.R.: You know, I just heard about another job that you'd be perfect for. Since they found the face of Fusion, they're looking for their ass.
Ava: Ha, ha!
Amanda: Let's go, J.R.
Babe: Everyone loves Annie. What could she feel like she possibly needs to keep in her past?
Di: No, I just -- I meant Terry. Psycho, perv ex-husband of hers.
Babe: Yeah, everyone knows about Terry, though.
Di: Annie just wants to protect her family. That's what she's always wanted.
Babe: I totally understand that. When I ran with Jamie and Little A, I was hoping that maybe I could forget about everything with J.R. and Miranda, and what I did to Bianca, but J.R. found us and life caught up with me. You can't always run from your past.
Di: Who said she's running?
Babe: Maybe she's not, but -- I mean, she's never brought up anything? I mean, life before here? Maybe college, or before her first husband? Nothing?
Di: Not that I can share.
Babe: Ok. What about family?
Babe: Because when Ryan and Annie got married, someone had said that she didn't have any family there.
Di: Oh, that's -- she started a whole new life here, Babe. You know?
Babe: Yeah, but not even like some cousin, or a -- a sister? Some wacky uncle?
Di: Wait, you have plenty of people that aren't close to their relatives. It's --
Babe: But how about other friends? Was -- I mean, there was no one else there that she was close with, besides you.
Di: Babe, not everyone has the happy childhood stories, like the -- the -- the grilling the cheese sandwich with the iron.
Babe: I'm -- I'm just -- I'm trying to understand. I mean, maybe there's -- maybe there's something I can do to help her.
Di: Babe you can sit here and ask me questions. Obviously, I'm not going to answer them. Let's just say that Annie's had more than her fair share of bad memories.
[At the cemetery, Annie holds up the note her dad gave her with the address "515 Forrest Hills Road" then she looks down at her mom's gravestone which reads "Emma Novak * 1952-1999 * Loving wife and mother," and falls to her knees crying.]
Annie: I'm sorry, Mom. I'm so sorry.
[Ryan wordlessly holds the door open for Greenlee as she passes through it]
Greenlee: Ryan -- Ryan?
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Erica: What is this?
Jack: It's our divorce decree -- it's final.
Ryan (to Annie): This trip wasn't just about Spike, was it?
Josh (to Greenlee): Search all you want. There are no miracles for Spike.
Kendall: Where's Spike? What happened to him?
Zach: There's something I got to tell you.
