Aidan: Sprained ankle, cracked ribs, and what was it? A punctured lung? You can go in if you want to, but 10 bucks says you'll sink like a stone.

Greenlee: And the next sound you hear will be the citizens of Pine Valley rejoicing.

Annie: Hey, little guy. You're gorgeous. He's amazing.

Zach: Hmm. Keep talking to him -- he likes it. He's digging it.

Annie: Huh. Yeah. I had heard you named him -- I like it.

Zach: Ian. I was teaching him how to spell it before you came in.

Annie: Well, how about I take over on the spelling lesson and you get some rest? You're running on fumes here, Zach.

Zach: Well, I can't rest now, not until I know he's staying with us.

Kendall: Ryan? Ryan, Ryan, Ryan -- Spike is awake. Spike is awake. Ryan? Hey.

Ryan: Hi. Hi. Hi there.

Kendall: Hi.

Ryan: Hi. Hey, big guy. Look at you, all awake. Look at you. He's back. He's back. Our little guy's back. Hi.

Kendall: Hi.

[Kendall giggles as Spike sits up and smiles at her]

Annie: Oh. His hat is so small.

Zach: Yep. I keep telling him he's going to grow out of it, and he's going to wear all of Spike's hand-me-downs, and he's going to grow out of those, too.

Annie: Hmm.

Zach: Black tuxedo, white shirt, and no tie. His first dance, I thought --

Annie: Oh. Hmm. The time really does go by so fast. One day, Emma was in diapers, the next day, I was making a birthday card for a 5-year-old. It'll be the same with Ian. Before you know it, he's going to be big and -- and strong and healthy.

Zach: Yep, and I'll think back to the time when he was only the size of my fist, and it'll seem like a lifetime ago, but right now, I want time to pass a little faster.

Zach: Look at him. See that?

[Annie gasps]

Annie: Oh. Is that -- is that his heart?

Zach: Mm-hmm.

Annie: I can see it beating.

Zach: Hmm.

Kendall: Look at him, Ryan. Look. I was so afraid that we would never see this again. It is the most beautiful, incredible sight I have ever seen. Ant tell, your mom's pretty psyched that you're back -- of course, not half as psyched as your dad. All right, maybe we're equally psyched.

Kendall: You just wait, wait until we tell -- Mom and Jack and Zach, Zach and Annie and Uncle Josh and Auntie Binks.

Ryan: And don't forget about Emma, right? And there is --

Kendall: Thank you.

Ryan: There is somebody else that's going to be really, really excited --

Kendall: Yeah.

Ryan: That you're ok.

Kendall: Um -- Spike, you remember that Mommy had a baby inside of her? Well, he came out. That's right. You have a little brother. Yeah, you do. I know he came a little early, but he was just so excited, he couldn't wait to meet you. He couldn't wait to meet you. You're going to love him. His name is Ian, and he is so beautiful.

Ryan: He is beautiful. And you know what else? He's a survivor just like you, Spike.

[Ryan sighs]

Ryan: You know, Spike, you got to be pretty darn cool for your own sister and your own brother to be your biggest fans -- do you know that?

Kendall: Yeah.

[Spike babbles]

Kendall: Yeah, you -- you listen to your dad, Spike. He speaks from experience. Huh.

Jonathan: Hi. Oh.

Jack: Ava? Have you listened to one word we've said?

Ava: Yes!

Derek: This is a serious operation -- you get that? Now, I won't go ahead with the sting if I don't think you're adequately prepped to get this guy.

Jack: Which means Sean won't be cleared, and your sister's going to continue her investigation as to who planted the drugs on her cousin.

Ava: I told you I'm listening -- jeez.

Derek: Ok, now, when you meet this drug dealer Lenny, you tell him to meet you at the boathouse, all right?

Ava: Am I going to have a microphone or something?

Derek: You won't be wired, but the boathouse will be. Now, let's go over what you're going to say.

Ava: Oh, oh -- I'll show you. "Hey, shady drug dealer guy, it's your old buddy, Ava. Yeah, I'm just chilling here with the chief of police in my living room, and we're trying to think of some ideas about how to bust your drug-pushing ass. Honestly, I think it would be a lot easier if you would just turn yourself in right now."

Derek: You think this is a joke?

Ava: Yeah, I think it's a joke that you think you need to hold my hand. I know what I'm doing, I don't need a freakin' map.

Jack: Well, I think you're a little overconfident for a girl with such a sketchy track record.

Ava: Yeah, Jack, I'm not perfect. I admit that I've made some mistakes. But you know what I never tried to do? I never ran my car off a cliff while trying to snatch a baby. That's impressive. How is your daughter, anyway? You must be so proud.

Aidan: So how does that work, then?

Greenlee: How does what work?

Aidan: Getting around town, with all those injuries. I mean, my guess would be one of those carts that old people use to get around the supermarkets, but I didn't see one in the car park on the way down.

Greenlee: Do you see this face? It's not laughing -- it's not even smiling.

Aidan: No worries. I can take a hint. I'll go. Ah -- whew.

Greenlee: When?

Aidan: Well, I'm just waiting for you to thank me -- for saving your life? I was the one that traced that call. The phone call that you made to Ryan after the accident? I mean, that was a nasty accident scene, by the way. I mean, it was lucky that you made it out alive. I can't imagine what it must've felt like --

[Tires screech as Greenlee recalls the accident]

Aidan: Going over that cliff. Hanging upside down. I mean, what did you do? Did you -- did you cut through the seat belt? Or crawl out the back seat to get to the baby? You must've been scared out of your wits. And the avalanche -- it was a miracle that you survived those rocks. I've been in a few situations like that myself, so I can imagine what you must've gone through. But to know that it wasn't just you that could die, but that poor, innocent baby --

Greenlee: Stop it! Just stop it! I know what you're trying to do -- you're trying to trap me, to get me to admit that I'm this horrible, vile person.

Aidan: I never said that.

Greenlee: Yeah, you don't have to. No one does -- I can see it in every face that I meet. You all think that I'm this unstable, unfeeling baby snatcher -- well, you can just go to hell! Ow!

Aidan: Hey, you shouldn't --

Greenlee: Get off of me! I was bringing him back, damn it! I was bringing him home.

Annie: You know-- I make up these stories, and I turn them into books for Emma? I kind of have this thing for fairy tales.

Zach: Yeah, no, I noticed. I was at your wedding and the vows were --

Annie: Oh -- you were paying attention?

Zach: Hmm, yeah.

Annie: Oh. Yeah.

Zach: Captive audience.

Annie: Hmm. Well, I was kind of starting on this new one, and I kind of wanted to get it down, but I don't have a pad and paper, so I thought maybe I could test it out on you?

Zach: Sure.

Annie: Ok. I'm thinking it's going to be called "Invincible Ian's Indomitable Itch." "Once upon a time, there was this itty-bitty, teeny-weeny little boy named Ian. And since the day he was born, Ian knew that he was destined, destined for greatness, but because he was so small and because he was always surrounded by worrywarts, he never really had the chance to do so. But Ian always wanted the opportunity to do good things -- hence, 'Ian's Itch.'"

Zach: Yeah, I got it.

Annie: Ok. "Then, one day, this evil, mean, nasty giant came into the village." I haven't thought about a name for the giant yet.

Zach: I got a few names.

Annie: Huh. "Well, this giant came in and he -- he made it seem like he owned the village, which really upset all the worrywarts, but they were too scared of him to do anything about it, except Ian. Ian not only confronted the giant, he befriended him. And even though Ian was so tiny, his heart was so enormous that even a big, mean giant couldn't resist it." I'm still kind of working out all the kinks, but that's the -- the basic idea, that this Ian was a true hero and led a wonderful, beautiful, rich life. I don't know. What do you think?

[Zach hugs Annie]

Kendall: Zach?

Zach: Oh, no, no, no. I was just -- routine checkup. Everything's ok.

Kendall: Oh, my God. Thank God. When I saw the two of you hugging each other, I thought --

Zach: No, no.

Annie: No, no, no.

Kendall: Oh, God.

Zach: How's Spike?

Kendall: He woke up.

Zach: He woke up?

Kendall: He woke up!

Annie: Oh, that's amazing!

Kendall: Yes, yes, yes!

Annie: Does -- does Ryan know?

Kendall: Yes, Ryan was with me when he opened his eyes.

Annie: Oh, uh -- excuse me. I have to find him.

Kendall: Yes. Go, go.

Zach: Oh.

Kendall: Zach, Zach, to see -- to see his eyes opened and to know that he was awake, it was the most amazing feeling in the whole world. You don't even know.

Ryan: "Now I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep. Guard me while I sleep tonight and wake me safe at dawn's first light." Leave it to your big sister to write the perfect prayer to bring you back to us, right?

Nurse: I'm sorry to interrupt, Mr. Lavery. I need to get some numbers on your son.

Ryan: Oh. Ok, yeah. Hey, Spike, I am going to be right outside the door, ok? I'll be right back. Ok.

[As Ryan sits in the hall and cries with relief, Annie hugs him]

Derek: Are you going through with the sting or not, because I don't have the time or the patience for attitude.

[Ava sighs]

Derek: Now, I want this guy off the street, but if you don't get serious and prove to me you're capable of nailing him --

Ava: Didn't I tell you I would do it? Ok? I just don't need you to hold my hand. I got the guy to meet me alone before, and I know I can do it again.

Derek: Don't screw this up.

Ava: Lenny? Hi, it's Ava. You remember me, right? Yeah. Yeah, I need you to hook me up again. No, double that amount -- different buyer. What can I say -- I roll with the big guys. So when should we meet? A couple of days or something? Cool. So I'll see you at the boathouse.

Jonathan: Hi. So what'd he say? What'd the doctor say about Spike?

Ryan: So far, so good.

Jonathan: You -- what are you doing here? Why aren't you in there with him?

[Ryan chuckles]

Ryan: I would be, but he -- you know, he passed out. He fell asleep.

Annie: The doctor says he'll be doing a lot of that considering everything he's been through.

[Phone rings]

Ryan: This is business -- I got to take this.

Annie: Oh, well, Spike is on the mend, Ryan is finally smiling again. If only little Ian would take a turn for the better.

Jonathan: I've said this to you before, and I'm going to say it to you again -- Ryan is so lucky to have you. Annie? Annie, I mean it. You don't even know how you've changed him, do you? You ever notice that Ryan has this crease right here, this little thing? No, you haven't seen that, have you? Well, probably because the minute you came into his life, it disappeared. Now, either he started getting Botox injections, which -- no -- or you took it away. He's found peace with you. You and his kids are the best thing to ever happen to him in his entire life.

Annie: Yeah. Annie Lavery -- nature's answer to Botox injections?

[Much to Jonathan's surprise, Annie begins crying]

Zach: What did you do? Did you find a penny or a four-leaf clover or something? Spike's awake, this one's stable. So much good luck -- that's new for us.

Kendall: I know.

Zach: Well, we deserve it. We've been through enough. Spike's probably wondering where I am.

Kendall: Well, then, go see him.

Zach: Yeah?

Kendall: Yeah, go see him. I'll stay with Ian.

Zach: Huh.

Kendall: Give -- give Spikey a kiss for me.

Zach: I will. See you in a while. Ok.

Kendall: You know, this is the first time that we have been alone. Hi. I'm your mom. There are so many things I have wanted to tell you, like how handsome you are and what a gift -- what a gift you are to your dad and me. And how excited we have been about you from the moment that you were made. I just wish I could snuggle you up to my chest to tell you all of that. That day will come. But for now, just know that Mommy's here, and I love you. Love you.

Aidan: Greenlee, just take it easy, all right?

Greenlee: Yeah, but I deserve to hurt, ok -- after what I did to Spike, right? You all think that I should be crucified for trying to kill him? How come nobody remembers that I'm the reason he exists in the first place? Spike wouldn't be here without me. Oh. I never meant to hurt him -- I love him. I love Spike so much. He was supposed to be my son! I spent so many months waiting and dreaming and planning and wanting Spike. And, yes, I know what you're thinking -- I abandoned him and Kendall and Ryan, but I made a mistake. And I came back to town which I thought was my home and learned that nobody wanted me back, and that everyone that I loved was gone. Kendall told me to drive Spike to the hospital. I tried to get out of it but she insisted. And then we started driving and -- I could see his face in the mirror. And I thought this is how it was supposed to be -- me and Spike, the two of us. And I wanted to take him, I did. And I even started to, but -- but he started to cry for his mama, for Kendall -- not me, for Kendall. And I couldn't do that. I -- I couldn't take a boy away from his mother. And no matter how much Kendall hurt me, I could not hurt her back. When we went off the road, I was bringing Spike back to his mother. I was bringing him home, I was doing the right thing.

Kendall: When we found out about you -- oh, my goodness -- I was the most excited I have ever been. And you came -- let me tell you, kiddo -- you came at a perfect time in our lives. We -- we were going through a really bleak time, and you -- you were like a shining ray of hope. And now, you're here. And that ray of hope just keeps shining brighter.

[Kendall sighs]

Kendall: Ok. Spike -- whew. You are going to love your brother. Let me tell you, he is something else. He is -- he's very handsome, just like you. And he is smart, and funny, and he's going to be crazy about you. Hmm. Now, I'm not saying that it's going to be, you know, a 24/7 love-fest. I mean, you are boys. You're bound to fight. But I can guarantee you, if you ever need backup, Spike will be the most loyal brother in the world. And Zach -- well, yeah. He'll teach you some pretty neat tricks, too. Let's see, like how to win an argument without ever raising your voice. How to get your point across without ever saying a word. And how to look good, even when you haven't shaved for weeks.

Ryan: You are a -- you're a big reason that Spike's here, Zach. If it weren't for you standing by Kendall's wishes, then he may not be. And I know that Ian's got a tough road ahead of him. But you fought for my son. And I'd like very much to fight for yours. If there's anything that I can do, anything, anywhere, anytime, I will do it.

Zach: Thank you.

[Ryan and Zach hug]

Annie: I'm sorry. I don't know what hit me.

Jonathan: Uh -- stress --

[Annie sighs]

Jonathan: Exhaustion. Being worried sick about your husband.

[Annie sighs]

Annie: It's just -- I saw Ryan in the hall when Spike first woke up, and he just -- I mean, he completely lost it, Jonathan. I didn't realize how much he had been holding back, but I -- I held him, and I could feel it. And the -- the ironic part was Ryan's heart was slowly getting pieced back together in that moment. But in the same moment, my heart was shattering, because I finally saw how much he had been suffering.

[Annie sighs]

Annie: I love your brother so much. It makes me sick to think that I almost ended it with him because of Greenlee. Oh --

Jonathan: But you didn't. You did not. And I wouldn't have let you. I would not let you get away with it.

Annie: Never again. I mean it. Your brother is so worth fighting for.

Jonathan: Can I share something with you? You're worth fighting for, too.

Annie: Huh. Oh -- well, it must be catching, because so are you.

Maitre d': I'm sorry, we only serve club members and their guests.

Ava: Oh, really? That's funny. You must not know who I am. Pretty hot, huh? So where should I park it?

Maitre d': I'm afraid I'll have to ask you to leave, miss.

[Phone rings]

Ava: Hello?

Jonathan: Hi. Hey, you answered.

Ava: Yeah, I did. And now I'm about to hang up. Can you please stop with the stalking? The calling and the text messages and everything -- I'm done with it.

Jonathan: Ava, I just want to see you.

Ava: Yeah, I know, but that's not going to happen. I have a real life now, Jonathan. I'm at the Yacht Club, living large. Sorry, Jon boy, but you don't fit with the Ava entourage anymore.

Jonathan: Tell Ryan I had to take off for a few, ok? I'll be back later to check.

Annie: Is everything ok?

Jonathan: You were right. It's catching -- fighting for someone who's worth it.

Greenlee: I am surprised you haven't taken off.

Aidan: Why would I?

Greenlee: Run and tell everyone that your little ploy worked. That Greenlee spilled her guts, and you have the whole sordid story. You know, you can paint me as a bigger monster than I already am. And good luck with that. But I don't care what you say, or what anyone thinks. I just -- I just care that Spike -- that Spike is ok. And the rest of you, you can just go to hell.

[Phone rings]

Jack: What's up, Aidan?

Aidan: I'm with Greenlee.

Jack: Is she all right?

Aidan: No, she's not. Your daughter needs you, Jack.

Jack: Greenlee? Hey. What's going on? Aidan called -- said you -- said you needed help.

Greenlee: People have been saying that for years.

Jack: Where is Aidan? Did he leave?

Greenlee: Yeah, finally. He wanted to be all chivalrous and stick around until you got here. Apparently, it's not PC to leave a girl with a punctured lung, but eventually, my "get lost" chant won him over. You should probably go, too, because it's all going to come out now, anyway.

Jack: What's that? What -- what happened?

Greenlee: Nothing. I -- don't listen to me. This is the pain talking.

Jack: Yeah, well, you probably shouldn't be here, anyway. You should be in the hospital.

Greenlee: Please don't bring me back there, Jack. Just -- can you help me up?

Jack: Sure.

Greenlee: Oh --

Jack: Got it?

Greenlee: Can I lean on you?

Jack: As much as you need to. Come on.

Ava: Ok, dude, I'm getting really tired of the back and forth, so I'm just going to take my seat right here. I'll have a basket of fries and a mojito. Wait, make that a salad, dressing on the side, and a sparkling water.

Maitre d': Either leave now, or I will have you physically removed from the premises.

Jonathan: Hey. Hi.

Ava: Oh --

Jonathan: Is there a problem here?

Ava: No!

Maitre d': Yes, this woman is attempting to dine here, and she is not a club member.

Jonathan: Well, I'm a club member. I'm Jonathan Lavery. Maybe you've heard of my brother, Ryan Lavery?

Maitre d': Well, of course, Mr. Lavery, but --

Jonathan: Yes, of course, and Ava here is my guest.

Ava: No, no, I'm not, and I don't need you to come rescue me!

Jonathan: Ava?

Kendall: While I don't want you to take any tips from your Uncle Josh in the romance department, I strongly advise you to have him be your role model in all other areas of life, and feel free to worship at his altar. He's amazing. And then there's your Auntie Binks. She is probably the nicest person that you will ever meet. And I'm pretty sure she's the best mom in the world. Yeah. And then there's Erica. My mom. I don't even come close to her when it comes to class. She will fight to the death for you. Family is everything to her. It's everything to all of us Kanes. That's why it's so hard for me to see you like this. I let you down, baby. I'm so sorry that you had to come into this world before you were ready. I know. I know life is tough right now, but I swear to you -- I swear to you, it won't always be like this, ok? And when you get bigger and stronger, I will take you out of that box, and I will put you in my arms, where you belong. Yeah.

[Ava pants as she runs down the beach]

Ava: God, Jonathan! Just go away! I didn't respond to your texts for a reason. I ran away from you for a reason. Don't you get that? I don't want you around.

Jonathan: Well, I just wanted to see you --

Ava: To tell me what? What do you want to tell me? That I hurt my sister, Lily? That I overdosed and almost drowned because I'm an idiot? And your family is going through total drama right now. I mean, your nephew -- he nearly died, for God's sakes, and I couldn't even take a moment of my time to say "Wow, that sucks." You should be yelling at me, not running after me.

Jonathan: Ok. You took drugs because you were upset, because I upset you. I saw Lily in you, and that is what drew me to you. And I know how much that hurts you for me to say, but I did not make love to Lily, I made love to you. Those messages that I sent -- they were only meant for you. And I ran up and I pulled you out of that water, because I did not want to lose you. Ava, God -- you know, when I go to bed at night, you're the last thing I think about. And when I wake up in the morning -- I just wish that you were lying next to me. Ok? I want you, not Lily! I want you. I want you, Ava.

[Jonathan and Ava kiss]

Greenlee: Jack, tell me, how is Spike?

Jack: Good. I actually just got word that he's regained consciousness.

Greenlee: Are you serious?

Jack: Yeah.

Greenlee: Oh --

[Jack chuckles]

Greenlee: Oh, that's great, that's great. Oh.

Jack: Honey, hey, whoa. Look --

Greenlee: Yes?

Jack: Why don't you rest a minute? We'll go someplace a little more private, what do you say?

Greenlee: Why? Do you not want to be seen with me?

Jack: That's not it at all.

Greenlee: Really? Because it seems like you want to hide me or something.

Jack: No, Greenlee, I just think it might be a good idea for you to keep kind of a low profile. There's a lot of people angry at you right now.

Greenlee: I know, but that's their problem. I went underground once before. It didn't work out so well.

Jack: Listen, I think maybe now is not the time to be defiant.

Greenlee: You're taking their side.

Jack: No.

Greenlee: Huh.

Jack: Greenlee, I'm on your side. I'm always on your side. Look, I know how much you regret what happened with Spike, and I know that you would never hurt him, or Kendall, or Ryan, and certainly not in this way. I also know that this accident took quite a bit out of you, emotionally and physically. I think you should take a little time and -- I don't know -- do some healing. Get some semblance of order and normalcy back in your life. Maybe even a little happiness, huh? I'm just not so sure you can do those things here.

Greenlee: Are you saying that I should leave Pine Valley?

Jack: Yes, I am.

Kendall: How is he?

Ryan: Good, he's still good. The pediatrician thinks full recovery.

Zach: Hmm.

Kendall: Oh, thank God.

Zach: What did I tell you about our luck turning? First Spike, now Ian.

Annie: What happened with Ian?

Kendall: Well, we got the test results back, and he has gained half an ounce.

Annie: Hmm.

Kendall: And his lung function has improved in the last 12 hours.

Annie: That's so great. I'm so happy for you guys.

Ryan: That's incredible.

[Zach chuckles as he shakes Ryan's hand and Annie hugs Kendall]

Kendall: Oh, this is good.

Annie: It's very good.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Jonathan (to Ava): Take a chance on us. Be with me.

Zach (to Adam): By the time I'm done with Chandler, there's going to be nothing left.

Josh (to Kendall): Greenlee doesn't exist anymore.

Erica (to Babe): What is your plan for getting Greenlee out of the company?

Greenlee (to Jack): So whose life are you protecting, Jack -- mine or yours?
