Greenlee: What you said --
Greenlee: That was real. You want us to get back what we lost, because you still love me.
Kendall: And to prove that, we put my husband in prison?
Annie: Kendall's baby kicked for the first time. How do you think that made Greenlee feel?
Ryan: I think that it's been a hell of a night. I think the storm is passing and the rain is letting up. Why don't you and me get some sleep. We'll get back to our life in the morning, huh?
Zach: Greenlee should've been taken care of a long time ago.
Ryan: You keep throwing gas on the fire, and it's going to burn.
Greenlee: Zach stole my only chance to have a child with Ryan.
Kendall: I was there, remember?
Greenlee: Do you? We had a plan -- your womb, Ryan's sperm, my eggs. We were all systems go until Zach decided to shut us down, shut down the whole city. I mean, he didn't want you to be my surrogate, so he caused the blackout, destroyed my embryos, ruined my dreams. It was sick, it was controlling, and you know it. You know he took everything from me.
Kendall: You show up here, you bust into my son's birthday party. You throw a pity party for yourself, almost drowning to make us feel sorry for you. To make me admit that I still love you, just so you can throw it back in my face. Just like that night -- the night that you left.
Greenlee: Look at me, damn it. I'm broken. I'm so broken! You broke me! There are all of these pieces around me, and I don't know where to start to fix myself. And I can't stand to look at you. I can't stand to be anywhere near you. Have to get away. I have to get away from you and the apartment and hospitals and babies. I have to get away. I have to get away from the both of you!
Ryan: Greenlee --
Kendall: Greenlee --
[Back to the present]
Greenlee: I won't go away again. Zach betrayed me, Ryan, you -- every person that was using that clinic as a lifeline. We had a plan, a beautiful plan, a plan that we made together. It was ours, not Zach's. He cost me everything, Kendall, and that's exactly what he deserves to lose. You said you never wanted to hurt me. You asked me if you could help me. Yes. Yes, the answer is yes. We can make this right. Let go of Zach. Hang on to us.
Kendall: Get out. I want you out of my house. Our house, mine and Zach's -- the man you want to rip out of my life? This is how much you hate me, or you hate us?
Greenlee: No, I don't hate you, I don't hate you at all! I hate this. I hate where we are because of what Zach did to us.
Kendall: I know how much you've lost. I saw your face when the baby moved.
Greenlee: Kendall, you were my partner, my sister, my best friend -- a woman who would do anything for me, even carry a child. Can you be that loving and selfless again? Will you testify against Zach?
Krystal: I tell you, nothing like a good rain -- wash away all the old and make way for the new.
Babe: Don't you want to come inside?
Krystal: No, not yet. Winnie's in there with Little A and Jenny. Anyway, I just have too many ideas racing around in my mind to go to sleep anyway. God, I have plaster in my hair! I can't believe it.
Krystal: Oh, wow. Ha! So the roof caved in -- big deal, right? We've survived worse. We'll have that place patched up in no time flat.
Krystal: And then once the flagship is up and running, then we can focus on franchising -- which is where the real bucks are. Oh, we need a logo, right? Yeah -- something big and splashy that really pops so people recognize it, you know, and say "That's where I want to go, I like that place."
Babe: I just like seeing you this excited. And with all of the ups and downs in your life and all the drama the last few years -- I even think back to when you first got to Pine Valley and there I was, sucking you in with all my secrets. I mean, if it weren't for me, you would've been on the road to your dreams a long time ago.
Krystal: Hello? The bar is called "The Comeback," ok, which means full speed ahead, no looking back. I don't want to hear any more of that nonsense.
Babe: I do have to say, though, when you grabbed the mike and told Adam what's what -- oh, boy.
Krystal: Well, he needed to hear it.
Krystal: No, Adam is not my home anymore.
Babe: You know, J.R. and I, we tried so many times, but the -- the trust and the caring -- it just -- just it always came after too many tears.
Krystal: Hmm. All those battles --
Krystal: And still, those Chandler men never knew what the fighting was all about. It wasn't about money or stocks or things. It was about love. That's what we were fighting for -- you and me. We can lean on each other, and knowing that -- it means the world to me. My girls, my freedom, my dreams -- that's all I want. Hey -- where's that smile?
Babe: It's still here.
Krystal: No, you're hiding something.
Babe: Well, you were talking about your dreams, and I have yet to fulfill one of mine. I want to get my high school diploma.
J.R.: You told me no matter what, I will always be second-rate. I will be the inferior son who will never measure up to the father.
Adam: Ah. I did say that, didn't I? And it's so true.
J.R.: You don't want me dragging down the Chandler name, so I came up with a solution -- I'll become a Martin.
Adam: Real men don't make idle threats.
J.R.: Oh, it's not a threat, it's a fact. You build me up, you knock me down, you test me, you trick me, you try to do mind control. I'll tell you what, this ride's over.
J.R.: I'm getting off.
Adam: Well, watch your step -- try not to stumble over that inheritance that you'll never see.
J.R.: Yeah, when you said you were disowning me, it freaked me out. But now that I look back on it, it's the best damn thing you ever did for me.
Adam: Foolish and weak -- you're a Martin already!
J.R.: I'm changing my name -- and my son's.
Adam: Now, wait a minute -- you want to brand yourself a moron the rest of your life, that's fine with me, but not my grandson. No way in hell you're going to make his name synonymous with a pathetic joke.
J.R.: And no way in hell are you going to ever, "ever" hurt anybody that I love again.
Kendall: What happened to the Greenlee that I saw turn from a spoiled snob into a powerhouse? Who would do anything for me? Who would fight for me, for Fusion, for our friendship? She was feisty and funny. She made me happy and completely crazy and crazy-happy. I loved that Greenlee -- Greenlee. Where is she?
Greenlee: Zach took her. He took her when he took my baby and took your choice.
Kendall: My husband acted out of love.
Greenlee: Really? Was it love when he knew that Ryan was alive but let us mourn anyway? How many cold, vicious things does he have to do before you realize what he's capable of? How bad does it have to get before you see who he really is?
Kendall: Zach is a good man.
Greenlee: He's going to betray you again, Kendall, "out of love." Fine. You want to stand by your man, fine. I'm going to get justice by myself.
Kendall: No. You go from zero to calling a lawyer because of one little baby kick?
Greenlee: You're in such deep denial, it's frightening!
Kendall: You -- you can't. Putting my husband behind bars will not give you that little flutter in your belly, ok? You can't rock vengeance to sleep or sing it a lullaby.
Greenlee: You know what? You say whatever you want, I'm not changing my mind.
Kendall: All right, first, you have Ryan arrested for bigamy, now you want to put Zach behind bars? Why don't you arrest the whole damn world, Greenlee? It won't make up for the fact that you can't carry a child!
Greenlee: I will never feel a baby kick inside me. I was supposed to feel my baby kick inside of Kendall, but Zach put a stop to that.
Ryan: What's all this about prison?
Greenlee: There's other places I'd like to send you, but maximum security is going to have to do.
Annie: For what crime?
Zach: The blackout.
Annie: You made that happen? At -- at ConFusion, Greenlee said something about you taking on the Pine Valley electric grid, but I didn't -- and you -- you mentioned the blackout when you told me how Spike was conceived, but you said it was complicated. Is this what you meant by "complicated"?
Kendall: Are you trying to get everyone to hate you? Do you want everyone to believe that you are sheer evil?
Zach: Take it easy.
Kendall: No, do you think if you fill yourself up with enough hate, it'll take on a life of its own? A life that you can cradle and hold and love forever?
Emma: Mommy and Daddy, what's going on?
Adam: You Martins never learn -- hands off my things.
J.R.: Oh -- huh. That water was for you.
J.R.: You know, so you could, you know, pop a pill if your blood pressure Spikes? I may have ditched your name, but I don't want you dead.
J.R.: You know what? Here you go -- just in case.
Adam: Any more announcements? You know, why don't -- why don't you take on an L, initial L for the middle of your name? It could stand for, oh, "lush," "liar" -- whatever.
Adam: I mean, you could call yourself "King Kong" for all I care. Why don't you get one of your medically inclined brethren to purge your body of all the Chandler genes? You'd be 100% Martin -- a pure, spineless, self-righteous jackass.
J.R.: The Martins are stronger than you could ever be. Here, let me break it down for you -- it's betrayal, amends.
Adam: Yeah, well, is this the excuse you're using for jumping over to the other side? Why don't you just admit you're not worthy of my name?
J.R.: Tad is the father that I betrayed. I've let him down more times than I can count. But he never disowned me. He never kicked me out of his life. And for that, I owe him my love and my loyalty, just like a -- a real son. But you? I don't owe you anything, and I don't want a damn thing in return.
[Adam uses a knife to cut the watch band off J.R.'s wrist then crushes it under his foot]
Adam: Mm-hmm. Ah. See the -- see the engraving? "From Senior to Junior. To my son, my pride." I'll let Tad buy you a new one. It can be inscribed, um, "From one Carey conquest to another. Let's hope the bimbo doesn't poach it." Ah.
[Adam laughs as he opens up his safe and takes out wads of money]
Adam: Take a good look, son. Try to remember it, because you're never going to get your hands on any of it.
J.R.: Well, the -- the watch and the cash --
J.R.: It's -- just stuff.
Adam: "Stuff." The company that you stole from me -- you had to steal it. Was that just "stuff," too?
J.R.: No, I took that because I wanted my son to know that there'll be somebody to take care of him for the rest of his life.
J.R.: And maybe one day he'll run it, maybe one day he won't. He might own a bar, he might become a doctor, but whatever he decides to do, at least he'll know that he has a parent who will support him.
Adam: Papa boozy and Mama floozy -- what wonderful guidance you'll give him.
J.R.: Yeah, I won't use money and threats to make my son fall in line. No, I won't try to mold him into me, I won't cut his mother out of his life the way that you cut my mother out of mine! No, he'll have a real family -- Ruth and Joe and Opal and Jamie and Tad.
Adam: You better go pack. I'm sure Tad Martin's going to want you over there in his abode right away. Oh, that's right -- his abode burned down, didn't it?
J.R.: No, I'm not leaving here. Not while Colby is still living under your roof. Now, Hayley got away, Skye got a whole new family. But I'm not leaving until Colby is out of here in one piece!
Krystal: Everybody knows how smart you are. Honey, you knocked their socks off at Fusion. Now, who cares how you got that gig?
Babe: But I got in the door at Fusion because Greenlee gave me her shares. And now that she's taken them back and I've quit, until we're pulling down cash in the bar, I've got to get a day job.
Krystal: Well, that's easy as pie. First thing in the morning, we'll just start working on your resume.
Babe: A resume? I mean, what -- what do I say if someone asks, "How did you go from pulling beer to co-owning a cosmetic company without experience, skill, education -- the most important," what am I supposed to say to them?
Krystal: You tell them "some things you don't learn in school -- like strength, determination, and heart." You either got it or you don't, and, honey, you got it in spades.
Babe: I want to get my degree -- not just for me, but for Little A. How am I supposed to tell him how important education is when I never even graduated high school? Mama, I want him to respect me, I want him to look up to me the same way that I've always looked up to you.
Krystal: So what's your -- your plan, huh? GED?
Babe: If I don't hit the books soon, Jenny's going to be graduating before I do.
Krystal: Oh -- I'm proud of you. And I know your little boy will wait till he gets a load of you in your cap and gown.
Babe: I can't wait.
Babe: Oh, I've always thought about that moment.
Babe: It's going to feel good.
Krystal: I know.
Babe: Hey, baby.
Colby: I'm a loser. He doesn't want me.
[Knock on door]
Rescue worker: We got a call about a stranded car out front. Anyone need evacuation?
Greenlee: God, thank God! We're out of here. Fine. I'll go alone, stretch out in the back seat. I have a meeting with my lawyer in the morning anyway. You know, I just wanted to make this right.
Ryan: I'll go and see if they're sending any more rescue vehicles to help us out here.
Kendall: Hey, Ryan, wait a minute, wait. Now, I -- I locked Greenlee up to save your wedding ceremony. And then she ambushes us here with this blackout BS and threatens to put my husband behind bars, and -- and you don't say one word to defend him? I don't -- what, are you over it?
Ryan: No. I'm not.
[Ryan rushes up to Zach and grabs him by the throat then lets him go]
Kendall: What is wrong with you, Ryan? What, are you crazy?
Annie: Keep your voice down.
Ryan: Do you get it now, Zach? Do you understand? Do you understand why telling Greenlee about the blackout was a mistake? I mean, it wasn't bad enough? You had to give her even more reason to flip out?
Kendall: Ryan, he did it to get Greenlee off of my back.
Zach: This isn't about now, it's about then when the blackout happened.
Ryan: Are you kidding me? The blackout didn't "happen," Zach. You made it happen, and we all had to roll with it, because we had no choice. So, really, Greenlee was right -- your choice affected all of us.
Kendall: What are you saying, Ryan, that -- that you regret that we have Spike? That you wish you never had a son?
Annie: Ryan loves Spike -- we all do -- but the way he was brought into the world - I had to use a fertility clinic with Emma. Those places aren't just facilities, they're a lot of people's last chance. And you -- you just -- you just reached in and altered hundreds of lives forever to get what you wanted.
Kendall: Annie, this is none of your business.
Annie: You destroyed eggs, samples -- you destroyed hope. Greenlee's right -- you do belong in prison.
Josh: You should've taken me up on my offer to leave Kendall's and get something to eat. On a scale of 1 to 10, how much trouble did you cause?
Colby: Sean told me that I was beautiful and strong, and the -- the kind of girl that he'd want to have his back. Thanks. He said he'd choose me every time -- hmm, but that was a lie. While he was making me feel special and important, he was having sex with someone else.
Krystal: He told you that?
Colby: No. He lied about it to my face until I caught him. You know, I was good enough to hang with, listen to music with, play video games with. But when it came time to be with a girl, he wanted someone else.
Babe: It's hard when you're -- when you're close with someone and -- and you trust that person, and then they end up going behind your back. It's like a -- it's like a slap in the face and a kick in the heart at the exact same time. I mean, you think, "What was I thinking?" "How could they do this to me?"
Colby: If you know how bad it hurts, how could you do it to J.R.?
Krystal: And how could I do it to your daddy? I've asked myself that question a million times.
Babe: Mama and I loved our husbands, Colby, but we did make mistakes.
Krystal: We caused a whole lot of people a whole lot of pain.
Babe: But we're sorry for what we did, and we have learned from our mistakes -- mistakes that we're never going to make again. So, how close were you and Sean? I didn't -- I didn't even realize the two of you were dating.
Colby: We weren't. We just spent every second of every day together -- scoping out the universe, planning for prom, and a gazillion other ideas we had. Sean's right -- love doesn't exist.
Adam: No, you can't keep my grandson from me.
J.R.: You need to just back off.
Adam: When Little Adam's mother played dead, I was the one who kept him, watched him. I'm the one that kept this family together.
J.R.: Yeah, and ever since, you've blown it all apart!
Adam: Little Adam is an extraordinary, wonderful little boy. He loves me.
J.R.: Yeah. And nobody can make him smile the way that Grandpa can. Like when you take him for those walks around the lake to look at the ducks? No, I'm not going to trash those feelings he has for you. I'm just going to make sure that you never see him again.
Colby: I'll get big, fat tears all over her.
Krystal: Oh, come on, Jenny's used to it. Come on. Please, the first few days after she was born, I couldn't turn off these leaky eyes.
Babe: Colby, the love in you -- it is so strong. And someday, you are going to give it to a boy who actually deserves it. But for now, you can give it to this beautiful little girl -- your sister who is here thanks to you.
Colby: Hmm. I do love Jenny. And I love you and Krystal -- even though you guys have both cheated on people I care about. I can't care about Sean again, can I?
Krystal: Well, that's for you to decide when you're good and ready. You want to spend the night?
Babe: I could make hot chocolate.
Colby: Hmm -- thanks, but -- here -- I just want to go home and crawl in my comforter and go to sleep.
Krystal: Oh. Well, listen, you've had one good cry already. You can have another one -- it'll probably do you good. But just take your time, ok? Think about things, write -- write everything down in your blog. If Sean has something to say, you can listen to him. But more importantly, you got to listen to your heart.
Colby: No matter what my heart says, I don't think I can ever change my mind. Bye, you guys.
Kendall: You weren't here. You don't know a damn thing about the blackout. So keep your opinions to yourself and your mouth shut about prison.
Annie: Forget the rescue vehicle, I'm going to check on our car. I have to get out of here.
Ryan: Hold on -- can you just -- can you just hold on --
Annie: You agree with me, right? Zach is a criminal.
Ryan: I didn't go after the guy, because I was happy with what he did, but I love Spike -- you know that, right?
Annie: Of course.
Ryan: I mean, I can't even -- I can't even imagine life without him, but that doesn't change how I felt when I found out about the blackout, how I still feel.
Annie: The man who's helping to raise your son -- what he did, what he's capable of doing -- I -- we're still here! We need a way out! Somebody please get me out of here!
Ryan: It's -- it's all right. Listen to me, listen. Listen, Zach Slater will not hurt you, Emma, or Spike. He cannot even touch this family. Ok? Ok?
Kendall: It's been twice already that Greenlee has broken my heart, and I think I just let her do it a third time.
Zach: One thing is different this time -- you know it's all my fault.
J.R.: Sorry to come so late.
Babe: Look, is -- is everything ok?
J.R.: I told you that we needed to build a wall between my father and Little Adam?
Babe: What did he do?
J.R.: Nothing yet, but I had to step up the plan.
Babe: Well -- well, he's obviously angry.
J.R.: He's past angry. Listen, you need to tell Winifred and everyone at the Miranda Center and anybody you can think of to keep my father away from our son.
Babe: Thank you for protecting our son. I mean, I know how hard that must've been -- I mean, telling Adam that he can't be a part of Little A's life anymore. He is still your family, and I know that you love him.
J.R.: Don't! Don't.
Babe: J.R., our son needs both of his parents now, and you have really been there for him -- for everyone in this house all the way. I'm really proud of you. Well, I'm proud of us. Maybe we're finally growing up.
J.R.: Maybe it's about time. Can I say good night to my son?
Josh: Does the silent treatment mean you want me to go? Guess so.
Greenlee: It's true. I'm the person everyone at that birthday party thinks I am. I don't like her. I don't want to be alone with her.
Josh: Who is she?
Greenlee: This nasty person who wants everyone else to suffer.
Josh: Any chance you could stop giving people a reason to think that's who you really are?
Greenlee: I don't want to think about it anymore, not tonight. Ryan's married to another woman. The mother of his child -- she's sleeping in my bed with my husband. It's all backwards, wrong. It's like -- it's like I fell down the rabbit hole, or went through the looking glass. That was my favorite book -- "Alice in Wonderland." I thought it was so magical. But it wasn't. It was just a little girl lost in a world that didn't make sense. Well, don't stare at me. Speak, say something, throw out an opinion, play your toy piano -- just do anything to shut me up and get this out of my head!
Josh: I don't know what to say. Clearly, you're a mess.
Greenlee: Yeah, thanks, doc. That's exactly what I wanted to hear.
Josh: It wasn't a diagnosis, it was an observation, and here's another one. You need to decide whether you want to keep being the person everyone thinks you are. If you do, how much will you hate yourself when it's all over?
Greenlee: Can you go, please? Just -- just go, get out of here.
[Door opens and closes]
Sean: Just -- just -- please, just hear me out.
Adam: Forget you.
Colby: Don't you "ever" touch me again.
Sean: Colby, wait -- wait, look -- look -- look, I -- I hate that you're upset, ok, I hate that I upset you.
Colby: No, I'm not upset, Sean. I'm sick, ok? I'm violently ill, but don't worry, it'll pass -- unlike what you probably got doing Ava. I am so over it. You don't exist. Now, move.
Sean: Colby -- please.
Colby: I said "move."
Adam: What's wrong?
Colby: Not now, Dad. If you say one word, I'll go off.
Adam: Huh -- it's all right.
Colby: Sean wants someone more than he wants me.
[As Chris Daughtry sings "Crashed," Colby hugs her dad while Sean stands outside the front door and J.R. watches his sleeping son. Annie, Ryan, and Emma glumly pack up and leave the Slater house while Greenlee lies down on her sofa with a rag doll for comfort.]
Well, I was moving at the speed of sound.
Head-spinning, couldn't find my way around, and
Didn't know that I was going down.
Where I've been, well it's all a blur.
What I was looking for, I'm not sure.
Too late and didn't see it coming.
And then I crashed into you,
And I went up in flames.
Could've been the death of me,
But then you breathed your breath in me.
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.
Somehow, I couldn't stop myself.
I just wanted to know how it felt.
Too strong, I couldn't hold on.
Now I'm just tryin' to make some sense
Out of how and why this happened.
Where we're heading, there's just no knowing.
And then I crashed into you,
And I crashed into you,
Like a runaway train.
You will consume me,
But I can't walk away.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
J.R.: I'm changing my name from Chandler to Martin.
J.R.: You saved my life.
Kendall (to Greenlee): You are no match for my husband. Don't push him.
Greenlee (to Derek): Zach Slater is a criminal. You'll arrest him when I tell you why.
Zach: Clean, discreet, and immediately. Are we clear?
