Kendall: You say hi to Daddy?
Ryan: Hi, Spike!
Kendall: Yes! Oh, Ryan -- ok. So --
Kendall: Yeah. I have a -- you little monkey. I have an extra pair of pants in case he dirties them at the park, which he just may do that. And, uh -- what else do I have for you? Oh, yes, he's probably teething --
Ryan: Annie said, "Yes."
Kendall: Wow, um -- well, that's -- I guess she probably changed her mind. That's great, Ryan. Congratulations. It's wonderful.
Ryan: Thank you. Yeah, I think it is. What about you? Do you think it is, too? Come here.
Kendall: So not having kids -- that's not an issue then?
Ryan: Well, you know, we're -- we're going to have the procedure reversed and even if that isn't completely successful, there's always other ways to expand a family, and most importantly, we have this beautiful little tough guy right here, and of course, Emma, so either way -- Kendall?
Ryan: Kendall, Spike is not going to have to compete for love or attention or anything like that, ok? You know that. Hey. Look at me. I need you onboard with this.
Zach: No, I understand that, so what you need to do is get Phillip s in city planning and give him a -- yes, just put --
Aidan: Lily, I don't want to take your money.
Zach: I'll call you back.
Lily: Zach, I'd like to ask you for an advance on my salary. Please, I know it's not the norm to give your employees their money early, but I really need it and I hope you make an exception, as it is very rare that you find a complete stranger that could be your biological relative.
Zach: Right. What's going on here?
Lily: Her name is Ava and she lives in Philadelphia. Aidan found her and he said that we look so much alike that we could be related, and -- and I want to hire him to go with me to find her, but that requires money that I don't currently have right now.
Aidan: Lily, I really don't think it's a good idea that -- that you come to Philly, all right? Ava's a working girl.
Lily: Well, I am a working girl, too now.
Ava: Looking for a date?
Krystal: Yes, the baby's fine. No, I am not leaving. Yes, I've eaten, and no, I do not want any company.
Josh: You forgot, "Yes, I've had my blood pressure checked today. "
Krystal: Make it fast, will you?
Josh: You know, you should be grateful that I'm here. All the stress you've been under -- it's good to have a doctor close-by.
Krystal: Oh, yeah. That's real good, Josh -- pretend that you moved in here to help me through this pregnancy. We both know that this is all about Babe. You're just afraid that if you leave her alone for two minutes, that J.R. will talk her out of the divorce.
J.R.: Josh moves in and suddenly you want a divorce?
Babe: J.R., we have been headed for a split for months now. Don't act so surprised.
J.R.: Yeah, well, you -- you never want to talk about the details. I mean, you got to admit this is all a little coincidental. Just be honest with me, Babe -- are you pushing for this divorce so you can be freed up for Josh?
Fireman: You got insurance? You're going to need it. Let's go.
Jamie: Oh, hey. Well, how'd this start?
Fireman: Too early to say.
Tad: Well. We may not know how it started, but we know why. This was arson.
Jamie: This was Adam.
Adam: Janet, Jamie -- I would think that you would be willing to sacrifice that buffoon Martin in a New York minute to save your poor, helpless mother.
Amanda: Where is she, Adam? Where do you have my mother stashed?
Adam: Oh, "stashed" is such an impersonal word. Um -- actually, Janet and I have become good friends.
Amanda: Oh. You stay away from her. She doesn't need your kind of trouble.
Adam: You're leaving so soon? Tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk, tsk.
Amanda: Yes. I'm going to find one of the cops staking this place out and tell them what you did so that they can find her, arrest you, and get her back where she's safe.
Adam: Oh, you think that's the way this is going to end? Huh? Janet's found no worse for wear and escorted politely back to her bin without incident? No. No, she's going to be dragged kicking and screaming to a real prison cell for attempted murder.
Kendall: Honestly, Ryan, if you're happy, then I'm happy. Yes, yes. And did I -- did I mention that he's teething? He -- yeah, so he might be a little fussy and --
[Knock on door]
Ryan: Hmm, I'm going to --
Kendall: I'm going to get that. I'll get it.
Ryan: Oh, yeah?
Kendall: No, no, no, no. You stay and play. I probably should get going anyway, so --
Ryan: Ok, I'll take the baby --
Kendall: Oh, yes, yes, you take that, and bye, you little chubby little muffin. I love you.
Kendall: Oh, Hannah. Hi.
Hannah: Hi. I -- I didn't expect to see you here, Kendall.
Kendall: Yeah. Uh --
Hannah: Hi. I -- I'm sorry to drop in on you like this, Mr. Lavery. I'm Hannah Nichols.
Kendall: Oh, you guys never met.
Kendall: Ryan, this Ethan's mother.
Ryan: Oh. Hi.
Ryan: Come in, please. Wow.
Hannah: Thank you.
Ryan: Your -- your son was an incredible man.
Hannah: Well, I never get tired of hearing that.
Kendall: Well, you know, you guys, I should probably go. I have things to do.
Kendall: So -- you definitely came to the right place if you want to hear stories about Ethan. Ryan was very close with him.
Kendall: Ok. Bye. I'm leaving.
Ryan: Hold on -- hello?
Ryan: We're cool, right?
Kendall: Yes. Yes, absolutely.
Ryan: Ok, you want to try to make eye contact when you say that so I can believe you maybe?
Kendall: Would you stop? I'm fine, Ryan. I'm great.
Ryan: You sure?
Kendall: Ok -- yes. Ok.
Ryan: Ok. All right.
Hannah: Ah. No, I -- I've wanted to meet you for a very long time.
Zach: Why don't we see what Aidan can find out, and then we'll talk about raises or advances or anything like that -- and even trips to Philly for you.
Lily: Ok, but I think it's a mistake not to get me involved. I'm a really good detective.
Aidan: Yeah, you are. You're a great detective. But, Lily, the area I found Ava in is a little bit rough. Not really fit for someone like you to be hanging around in.
Zach: Well, plus, I need you here. You should be at your desk right now -- there's a fax coming from Revan. You need to check all the numbers before I make a decision, ok?
Aidan: I promise you I will find Ava again, and we'll figure out how you two are connected, ok?
Zach: You realize this could be a huge mistake.
Josh: Babe decided to leave J.R. all on her own.
Krystal: Please, you have been at that girl for months to dump him.
Josh: Me and every other sane person in this town -- even you sometimes, Krystal. You know, it took J.R. being an ass 50 times over for Babe to finally realize what a punk he is, and now that she realizes it, I'm not going to let her forget it.
Krystal: Wait, aren't you taking the protector role just a little bit too far? Babe doesn't want you here. Why can't you accept that?
Josh: Maybe for the same reason you can't accept Adam want you here.
Babe: I want this divorce for a lot of reasons -- and Josh is not one of them.
J.R.: Can we get him to believe that?
Babe: J.R., you don't want to believe it. And without Josh to blame it on, you have to face the real reason for our breakup. We just don't work anymore.
J.R.: I know that's what you think.
Babe: That's how it is, J.R. I just -- I can't -- I can't do this anymore. I need to be alone for a while.
J.R.: I tried to let you have your thing, I tried to give you your space since you came home -- that's got to count for something.
Babe: It counts for a lot. But too much has gone down with us.
J.R.: But we've waited this long. I mean, can't we wait till this whole mess with our parents blows over? We might be able to help them get back together.
Babe: I know, but why -- why drag it out when our marriage is over? I just -- I think -- I think that we could be better friends if we just accept that.
Tad: Remember this?
Jamie: That's your baseball mitt. You've had this thing since you were a kid.
Tad: Yeah. In the mood for a little beef jerky? I can't believe that you and J.R. used to fight over this.
Jamie: I never caught more pop flies than I did with that mitt.
Tad: I was thinking someday I'd even teach Kate. Now what do I do? My whole life was in here.
Jamie: Dad, what --
Tad: Dixie --
Jamie: Hey, what are you looking for? Well, what is it? Ok.
Tad: Oh, thank God.
Tad: I got it, I got it. Thank God. It's Kate's baby cap. Dixie gave it to me. She knew I'd want it. Probably the only connection I'm ever going to have with your baby sister. I knew he was dangerous when his ego was bruised, but I don't believe Adam would do something like this.
Jamie: Adam has no idea what he brought on himself.
Tad: No, listen to me, it's my fight. You stay out of it, all right?
Jamie: Adam didn't just burn down your memories, he burned mine, too. This is war, we are done with the stupid frat pranks. Next time I get my hands on that bastard, he's going to remember it forever.
Adam: If you're waiting for Tad and Jamie to ride to your rescue, you can forget about that. They have their own problems smoldering at the moment.
Amanda: I don't need help, Adam, you do -- you're insane.
Adam: Oh, you've had a lot of practice spotting that, haven't you?
Amanda: Oh -- you know, there -- there's no way that my mom's going back to prison. She was already found unfit to stand trial last time because of her mental state. The doctors already know she's unbalanced.
Adam: Oh, yes, oh, yes. Oh, yeah, when she was at her craziest, "unbalanced" was, well, an -- an understatement. Janet from Another Planet hasn't shown her head for months and months. The new, improved, medicated Janet -- well, she seems quite sane. She knows right from wrong. She -- she knew what she was saying when she tried to kill me.
Amanda: What? No.
Adam: Oh, yes. Oh, yes.
Amanda: Oh --
Adam: Yes -- ahem -- you see, Janet got very angry when Amanda and I got into an argument at the sanitarium. So she broke out, tracked me down, pointed a gun at me.
Amanda: That is total bull.
Adam: No, no, no, no, your honor, I have proof right here, ready and waiting -- along with your mother, of course.
Amanda: I want to see her.
Adam: Well, I was trying to take you to her before you just threatened to sic the cops on me. Now, I wonder whose side you'll be on. Hmm. Now, Derek, any sign of Janet on the property?
Derek: What are you doing at Wildwind, Adam?
Adam: Um -- you want to tell him, or shall I?
Amanda: Adam came to see me.
Amanda: My mom.
Amanda: He's afraid that she will come after his family again.
Adam: Yeah, she stole my grandson some time ago. And now that she's on the loose, I want to make sure Little Adam is safe.
Derek: The police will see to that. You don't need to harass Amanda.
Amanda: Thank you, Derek.
Adam: Well, let me harass you a little. Janet Dillon is a dangerous killer. I suggest when and if you find her, you shoot first, ask questions later.
Amanda: No -- Derek, please tell me that you will not hurt her.
Adam: I've told Amanda she can assure her mother's safety by cooperating.
Derek: Take care of your own business, Adam. Excuse me while I check on my men.
Adam: Hmm. All right. You going to help me bring down Jamie Martin? Hmm?
Amanda: You prove to me that she's ok. Please, Adam, I have to see her.
J.R.: How many times have I told you that I'd change and then a minute later become that paranoid, arrogant, hostile ass again?
Babe: I have made so many mistakes myself -- this isn't all on you.
J.R.: Oh, it should be, considering how many times you fought for us. I mean, no matter how big of a jerk I was, you still believed that I'd change, and I did. I mean, when I thought that you were dead, I had this big, eye-opening kick to the gut. I -- I blew it, and I swore to God that if I had another chance with you, that I would do right. And -- and God has come through on his end. I mean, can you just -- just let me come through on mine?
Babe: J.R., I -- I love that you want to change. I just don't --
J.R.: No, not "want to change, " I did change. I mean, if you don't believe me, why don't we just build a house on that tract of land that I bought you, away from my father? I mean, you could choose the architect, the designer, build a cottage on the back for your mom and her baby. And I could show you every day that I'm a new man. I know that you still love me. Can you please just give me another shot?
Babe: It's not that I ever stopped loving you. It's just we have both made so many mistakes. I can't make this one. Not again.
Zach: What do you know about Lily's biological family?
Aidan: Not much, only what Jack told me, and it's not good. Lily's father, Denny Benton, was a self-centered SOB that blamed her mother, Laurel, for Lily's autism. He walked out on Laurel when Lily was 2 years of age and left them in a pile of debt. Benton was a minor-league con artist -- fake IDs, credit-card fraud, owed a substantial amount of money to loan sharks. He's now dead, so is Lily's mum. We're not sure how Ava fits into all of this, but from what I gather, she's very much alone.
Zach: All right, well, tell her you're on it, and then in a few days, tell her you couldn't find anything.
Aidan: Hey, I would -- I would give it up, but I really think that this girl Ava is in serious trouble.
[Ava flirts with a guy until he notices his wallet is missing]
Man: Hey -- hey!
Ava: What -- what's the problem?
Man: Where is it? Ooh!
[Ava kicks the man down and runs]
Ryan: I'm sorry that you never got a chance to know -- to know Ethan.
Hannah: Well, his friends have told me all these wonderful stories. I -- I almost feel like I do know him.
Hannah: I'm very proud of him. Do you know if his father was proud of him?
Ryan: Well, he probably didn't have to ask his father that one.
Hannah: What's your take on Zach Slater?
Ryan: You must know him a little bit, considering you had his kid.
Hannah: I knew Alex Cambias, Jr., the relentless teenager. Uh -- Zach Slater is a grown man, much more cool and collective than the boy I remember. So what's he like?
Zach: You're a smart man. And if Jackson's ok with it, then you should go ahead. But I'm warning you, this could be a big can of worms. She could be on drugs, police could be involved.
Aidan: Yeah -- yeah, you're right. But, you know, this girl may be tough, but I swear I saw fear in her eyes, and if I can help her out, I will.
Zach: As long as helping Ava doesn't hurt Lily.
Aidan: I don't want Lily hurt any more than you do, which is why I don't want her coming along with me. But I really want to find out what this girl's about.
Zach: All right. What do you need?
Aidan: Look, don't worry about that. I've -- I've got it covered. But if Lily asks, tell her you paid me -- it'll make more sense that way.
Babe: You're not the only one who got a wake-up call. After I was attacked I -- I thought a lot about our marriage. I had so many regrets about the way that I treated you.
J.R.: Do you want me to rattle off my track record?
Babe: See, that's my point. We need to stop now. I don't -- I just -- I don't want to fight with you anymore, and I know that you don't want to fight, either.
J.R.: And what I want is for our son to have both of his parents.
Babe: I'm not going to enforce the custody agreement that you gave me. I want us to figure out a way to share custody. I -- I don't want our son to miss out on knowing either one of us. So can we please just stop fighting? If you say that you've changed, this is a way that you can prove it.
Jamie: Where is he?
Tad: Where's your damn father?
Amanda: Come on, Adam, this is ridiculous. Please let me take the blindfold off. I promise I will not tell anyone where we are.
Adam: No, no, no, we can't be careless about this. This is for your mother's safety, as well as your own. Here we go, this way, this way. There you go. Now you're coming up on a big step -- giant step up. There, very good, that's good. Ok, we're almost there. One more step up. Ok. One more -- little tiny step -- there you go. Now, if you can just put your hands right there.
Amanda: It smells musty.
Adam: Oh, no, it --
Adam: Won't once you get inside. Ok, here we go. All right. Come in. There we go, that's good.
Amanda: God. Can I take this off?
Adam: Uh -- yes, I think so.
Amanda: Oh --
Janet: Amanda, baby!
Amanda: Oh, my God, thank God! Are you ok?
Janet: Am I ok? Oh, honey, look around! I am living like royalty, all thanks to my new pal, Adam.
Adam: Only the best for you, Janet.
Janet: Isn't that sweet? Who'd have guessed?
Amanda: Mom, you really need to get back to the hospital.
Janet: No, honey, you're wrong. No, I'm happy and I'm free, and I'm very safe here. Adam's the only one who even knows where the entrance is. That's how secure it is.
Adam: You can speak freely, no one can hear you -- the whole place is soundproofed.
Janet: Isn't that neat? Honey, I'm happy, and Adam here -- he's promised to help me find a new life.
J.R.: My father can't look at me without spitting. I'm definitely not on his list to check in with.
Babe: What did Adam do now?
Jamie: When you see him, why don't you do me a favor -- knock him unconscious, tie him up, and call me, because I'd like to take care of the rest.
Tad: Call me first.
J.R.: What the hell happened?
Jamie: Hey, where's your mother? Maybe Adam's with her.
Josh: He's not -- I was just up there. She's by herself. What's up?
Babe: That's what I'd like to know. Tad, you guys are really freaking me out. What happened?
Tad: Adam burned down my house.
Ryan: He wears many hats. You know, he's a businessman, he's my occasional ally. He's a father, and he's a few other things, I guess. I'm just not clear on which one you want me to describe or --
Hannah: Ok, he offered me a job.
Ryan: Oh, he did?
Ryan: That's great, at Cambias?
Ryan: Are you interested?
Hannah: I am intrigued, amused. I mean, from washing Alexander's socks to co-running the old man's company? I'm tempted to do it on vindication alone.
Ryan: I bet you are.
Ryan: But that's not nearly enough.
Hannah: Is Zach a fair man?
Ryan: He is fair -- he's fair to his own code.
Hannah: Is he anything like his father?
Ryan: Wow. Uh -- honestly, my experience with Alexander is very different from Zach's or from yours, so that's a tough one for me, I don't think I could answer that. But, you know, is Zach homicidal? Definitely not.
Hannah: It -- it's just when we were kids, Alex -- Zach hated his father and vowed never to be like him. Did he stay true to that?
Ryan: I think you're going to have to make your own assessment on that one, really. But from my own experience, a son doesn't have to grow up to become his father.
Hannah: You're choosing your words very carefully. Are you being nice because of Kendall?
Ryan: And why would I do that?
Hannah: You two share a -- a son, correct?
Ryan: Yes, that's true, we do. Yeah, we do.
Ryan: Uh-huh. You know, honestly, Zach and I -- we've gotten pretty good at the co-fathering thing. You know, we're -- we're cool now, especially when it comes to Kendall. In fact, if there is one thing that we do agree on, it's that Kendall deserves to be happy.
Kendall: Ryan and Annie are getting married.
Kendall: Isn't that wonderful? I think it's wonderful.
Zach: Well, I -- I can see you do. Ryan getting married, I think, is a great idea.
Kendall: Yeah, so I -- I want to plan this party for them, and I'm trying to figure out, you know, what I should do. Maybe -- I don't know -- fancy-schmancy, that hoity-toity sort of thing that they like? Or maybe laid back -- beer and guacamole, very informal.
Zach: You've given this a lot of thought.
Kendall: Yeah. But you know what? Annie works with me at Fusion, so maybe I should just talk to her, and then we can plan the whole thing ourselves. That would be good, right?
Zach: Yeah, sure, sure.
Kendall: Yeah. What was that? That right there?
Zach: No, I'm -- you were so against this wedding, and now you're picking the caterer -- I -- I think that's cute.
Kendall: "Cute"? All right, I'm a fake bitch.
Zach: Yeah, but you're an adorable fake bitch, so it's ok.
Kendall: Yeah, yeah. Ok, I know -- no matter how hard I try to get onboard with this wedding, I am nothing but a spiteful control freak who doesn't want anyone to be happy but us.
Zach: Oh, honey --
Kendall: Am I like that? I mean, I love you. I do, I love you, only you. So, I mean, what do I care if Ryan wants to marry Polly-Annie?
Zach: Well, because you can't imagine any man finding happiness after you. Neither can I, so I guess Poly-Annie and Ryan are doomed, aren't they?
Kendall: Yeah, actually, they are. But I swear, it won't be because I wasn't supportive.
Kendall: All right.
Tad: I am not kidding, I am not exaggerating, J.R. Everything I own has been reduced to ashes.
Josh: And you're positive Adam did this?
Jamie: I'd bet my life on it.
Tad: And I have a really bad feeling he's just getting started which is why we have to get your mother out of here.
Babe: I've tried -- we all have. She just -- she won't listen.
Tad: Because she's loyal. She thinks if she stands firm, she's going to find a way back into his heart. Well, I've known the old cockroach a lot longer than she has. I've seen what happens to women when he's finished with them. If she thinks she's seen the worst of it, she's dead wrong.
Josh: What are you going to do, just throw her over your shoulder, carry her out of here?
Tad: Don't think I haven't considered it. If she weren't eight months pregnant, I would've done it by now.
Krystal: And you would've gotten kicked square in the jaw, Tad.
Babe: Mama, please, you really do need to leave.
J.R.: I can't believe my father's lost it -- arson.
Tad: Krystal, please listen to reason. I'll get you a room at the Valley Inn until you find someplace else to live.
Babe: And I can stay with you if you want.
Krystal: Would you all just knock it off? We have all provoked Adam. J.R., you took away his company, Jamie, you humiliated him in front of everybody at his office building, and, Tad, you and I both made a fool out of him.
Tad: Why do you insist on putting yourself through this?
Krystal: Am I the only one who understands who Adam Chandler really is?
Adam: Janet, why don't you tell Amanda how we became such good friends?
Janet: Adam is a genius. There we were -- two misunderstood souls, former enemies trapped together in the sanitarium -- and he came up with a way for the two of us to help get each other healthy.
Amanda: Mom, I -- I want you better, too. I'm just not convinced that this is the way.
Janet: Honey, it's so serene here, it is quiet. Listen -- see? No one around to boss me or to tell me I'm stupid, and Adam here -- he says that he can put me up in this kind of luxury the rest of my life! Oh -- you still haven't said what I can do for you.
Adam: Oh, well, just keep cheering me on and keep the faith. That's all I need.
Janet: I'm a very loyal friend.
Adam: Yes, oh, yes, you are loyal. That's because you know what the alternative is. You know what it's like to be used and humiliated and scorned. Tad and Krystal took everything from me -- my marriage, my pride, and my child.
Janet: Our children are our greatest gifts.
Adam: Yes, yes, that is certainly true of the two of you. I've always admired the bond that you had for each other. And that's why I brought Amanda here to see you tonight -- to see how I provided for you. And maybe she can find it in her heart to trust me. Trust me enough to go along, help me out with a little project I'm planning. Um -- but I'm afraid she's not convinced.
Amanda: It's not my type of project.
Janet: Are you asking my daughter to do anything illegal?
Adam: Oh, no, absolutely not. I'm asking her to take a message to the people who destroyed my life -- the same people who destroyed yours, by the way. You do know that Tad and Jamie forced her to lead the police to you that night?
Amanda: Oh, come --
Janet: No, you mean the night at the cabin, the night they arrested me?
Amanda: No, Mom, please don't listen to him.
Janet: Oh, honey, I knew it, I knew you would never betray me on your own, sweetheart. Please do not send me back to that sanitarium. They're just bossy, and they call me stupid, and I can't stand it. Please do not send me back there.
Adam: No, no, I will see to it that you never go back there. I bought a little -- a very beautiful, little villa in the Canary Islands.
Janet: Oh --
Amanda: Mom -- Mom, you need your meds.
Adam: Yes, well, she'll get her meds. There will be a licensed physician there on call when she needs them. Janet, why don't you -- you run to the backroom and freshen up a bit, while Amanda and I work out the arrangements.
Janet: Honey, this is the happiest I've been in a long time.
Adam: Where do we send the meds -- the Canary Islands or maximum-security?
Hannah: All this talk about Kendall deserving to be happy -- it almost sounds like a warning.
Ryan: You know, I'm -- I'm a little curious, actually, um, as to why you came to town now. You know, Ethan's death made national news about a year ago, and we didn't hear from you then. Now all of a sudden Zach takes over a multibillion-dollar conglomerate, and not only do you show up in town, but you get yourself a job offer.
Hannah: Timing is part of it.
Hannah: I -- I was on my way here last year when I heard about Ethan and the explosion. I can't tell -- are you looking out for Zach, or does this have more to do with Kendall?
Ryan: I will always watch out for Kendall -- she's the mother of my son.
Hannah: Well, Zach's the father of my son. Granted, we weren't very close, but I do have a soft spot for him.
Ryan: How soft?
Hannah: Hmm. You're not mistaken, Ryan. It is incentive that Zach took over Cambias. But it makes all the difference that Alexander is behind bars. You have no idea how much I feared that man, how much I lost because of him. I mean, I finally feel like I've been released from prison.
Ryan: And there's no other reason that you're here?
Hannah: Oh, don't worry, Ryan. The only trouble that I pose for Kendall and Zach is that I may ask for a bigger salary than he's willing to pay.
Aidan: Have you lovely ladies seen this girl, only with darker hair?
Man: Let me see that. If you find her, you send her my way. That little hustler stole my wallet.
Aidan: How did that come about?
Man: We were having a nice chat, and suddenly I noticed my wallet's gone. She took off before I could get it from her.
Aidan: Did you report it to the police?
Man: Huh. No, I'll handle this myself, soon as I find that broad.
Aidan: How does your wife feel about you "handling broads"?
Aidan: Ava? Ava, you can come out.
Adam: So that's the pitch -- Tad Martin gutted my life, and Jamie helped. So you get the goods on those two, I'll put your mother in a place so beautiful, she'll never even know she's being monitored.
Amanda: And if I go back to Derek with the truth?
Adam: Ah. Well, the police will arrive just in time to see me struggling with Janet -- over a gun. "Here's where she shot me -- right through my jacket. Huh, Chief Frye? Right there -- missed me by that much!" If she goes loony tunes just once in maximum-security, how long do you think she'll last?
Amanda: What do you want me to do?
Adam: I want you to get the goods on the Martins. How you do it is up to you. I will always be available for consultation. So you seduce them or drain them of their money or frame them for a crime -- I don't care, let your imagination wander. Just do something that I can use to make them suffer for the rest of their lives.
Amanda: You are an evil man.
Adam: If you don't fall into line, young lady, you're going to -- you're going to find out just how evil I can be.
Krystal: You all look at Adam and you see his rage. I see the pain. I mean, yeah, he's furious at me, but he does still love me, and if I leave now, it'd be like saying that that love isn't worth fighting for.
Tad: It isn't. He's a maniac. Look what he's done so -- it's only going to get worse. You going to wait for him to burn down this place?
Krystal: He would never hurt me or the baby, Tad. He has proved his devotion over and over again. Now, if you all would just leave, I would have a shot at reaching that side of Adam again.
Babe: There is no way I'm leaving you, Mama.
Krystal: Look, I got myself into this mess, Babe, and I'm the only one who can get myself out of it.
Tad: You're nuts if you think I'm going to let my daughter anywhere near that lunatic.
Krystal: You going to drag me out by my hair, Tad? If you do, you'll never ever lay eyes on my baby.
Tad: Come on, Jamie, I got to get back to the house. Listen, we got to find Adam without tipping off Krystal or Colby.
Jamie: I saw his car by the back gate when we came in. That means he's got to be on the grounds somewhere.
Tad: Come on.
Aidan: I need to talk to you. Cup of coffee? It's on me.
Ava: Sorry, "mate," I don't do second dates.
Aidan: Listen, either you come with me, or I'm going to report you to the police. What's it going to be?
Hannah: Bad timing, guys?
Zach: No, not at all. Did you make a decision on the job?
Hannah: Give me the right numbers, and I'll take it.
Ryan: Hey, you think the -- that cute little redhead will be back in the sandbox again? I think she had the hots for you last time, I'm just saying. You know, of course, who can blame her really?
Ryan: Right? Right? You sit right here, I'll get that. It's probably for me, so don't worry about it. Hello? Hello? Hello, is anyone there?
[Line disconnects as camera pans to a desktop with a butterfly pin]
Babe: J.R. and I were in the middle of something. Do you mind?
Josh: Yeah, actually, I do. But I'll leave anyway.
Babe: So I never got an answer. Are we going to share our child? Can you let me go?
[Tad and Jamie knock Adam out with a pot to the head]
Adam: Oh -- ugh!
Jamie: I thought you were going to catch him.
Jamie: So you ever notice that door before?
Tad: No, I can't say as I have.
Jamie: Well, what now?
Tad: Well, if we can't move Krystal, we'll just have to move Adam.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Tad: Adam's going to be all right in there. He's got everything he needs.
Adam: What happened?
Janet: Tad and Jamie happened. They've completely lost their minds.
Babe: Are you going to make this easy, or does it have to get ugly?
[J.R. shakily pours himself a drink]
