Ryan: Hey, hey, hey.

Kendall: Hi!

Ryan: There is my little guy!

Kendall: Yeah, yeah. Want to see Daddy?

Ryan: Hey, little Spikeman. Are you ready to dine al fresco? Are you?

Kendall: Well --

Ryan: Are you ready?

Kendall: We are ready to eat when you are. Ugh.

Ryan: For the love of  – There’s a – a lot of food there. What are you- who are you going to feed with that? The rest of like the state? Zach? The park? The national --

Kendall: No, actually -- no, no -- listen, Zach is actually at the casino getting ready for the New Year's craziness, so I thought it'd be nice to just have the three of us have a nice little picnic together.

Ryan: Oh, yeah. That would be nice. Thank you. And not just for the picnic.

Kendall: You're welcome.

Ryan: Oh.

[Emma runs up and hugs Ryan’s leg.]

Kendall: Oh.

Ryan: Hey.

Emma: Hi.

Ryan: Hey.

[Zach walks out on the balcony of the new house and remembers a young woman falling down while screaming then he sees a woman come out.]

Zach: Oh, my God.

Tad: Now, I know for a fact because, between you and me, you are way too pretty. And that would make you part of my family, so who do you belong to, huh? Are you Santa's little girl? You don't -- you don't help him fill the sleigh? Stuff like that? Really?

Kathy: I'm my mommy's little girl.

Tad: Ok. That was my next guess. You know what? Your mommy is a very lucky lady.

Linda: Kathy really wasn't hurt?

Julia: Not a scratch, not a bruise. She's perfect. And you're going to be just fine, too.

Linda: Jim? Jim didn't make it?

[Phone rings]

Babe's voice: Hi, you've reached me on my cell phone. Leave your name and number and I'll get back to you.

J.R.: Damn it, Babe, you went to check on that whacked-out rock star hours ago. Where the hell are you?

Babe: George? George, is that you?

Josh: Babe? Are you ok?

George: You disappeared.

Babe: There's -- there's someone over here.

Josh: Stay with her.

Babe: No, please, Josh, no --

Josh: I'll check it out!

Babe: I'm fine! Please!

Julia: Who should I call? I'll take care of Kathy until they arrive. Should I call Jim's folks, or -- or is there a friend?

Linda: There's no one.

Julia: There has to be someone.

Linda: Uh -- my parents are dead, and I never met Jim's mom and dad. I don’t know where they live, or even if they’re alive. Kathy's all I have.

Julia: It's ok. It's ok. She can -- she can stay with me until you’re well. And -- and then you can stay with us, too, for as long as you want, okay? Do – do you want to see Kathy? Should I bring her in?

Linda: Please.

Julia: Ok.

Tad: You watch very, very carefully. No. Once again. It's over here.

Jamie: He used to do this to me, too. He pretends he's funny, and then he keeps the cash.

Tad: No, I'm giving her the cash, because she's better looking than you are.

Julia: Do you want to see your mommy?

Kathy: Mommy!

Tad: See you later, sweetheart. She's adorable. What's the story?

Jamie: Julia's friend Linda is her mom. She and her husband and the little girl were on their way to see Julia, and then their car spun out.

Tad: She's going to be ok, right?

Jamie: She's fine. Her dad wasn't so lucky.

Tad: He didn't make it?

Jamie: And Linda -- she could go either way.

Tad: That poor kid. I swear, sometimes it's hard to make rhyme or reason out of any of this.

Ryan: All right, time to hit the ice. You ready? We won't hit the ice too hard. Here we go. That's it.

Annie: Be careful.

Kendall: Oh, my goodness.

Ryan: Oh. So good. Come on.

Kendall: Oh. Ah. So, you still falling for Ryan?

Annie: Um -- all is good.

Kendall: Well, you, my friend, are a brave woman.

Annie: So I look a little like his ex. Greenlee's long gone. I'm the one here now in Ryan's life.

Zach: Bianca, what are you doing here? Why are you walking around by yourself?

Bianca: I'm not. My bodyguard is right inside. But why -- who did you think I was?

Zach: Who did -- I was -- I didn't think you were anybody. I was thinking about the murders and -- and -- uh -- why are you walking around here without anybody? Why -- why do you --

Bianca: I told you, I --

Zach: I know what you told me. You told me your bodyguard's in there. What, what? Are you -- that's how he protects you, walking around by yourself in a deserted house?

Bianca: Hey, something is going on. Something that has to do with you and the murders. This is not the first time I've seen you act like this, and it's just not you, Zach. So tell me, what is going on?

Babe: Did you find anyone?

Josh: Nothing, no sign of anyone.

George: Lot of cars to hide behind.

Josh: I swept the whole place. Did you get a look at him?

Babe: I don't even know if it was a him. I don't know.

Josh: You look really pale, Babe.

Babe: I'm fine. I was just -- I was worried about you, is --

Josh: Hey --

George: Should I call a doctor?

Babe: No.

Josh: You're looking at him, George.

Babe: Seriously, you guys, I'm fine. I’m just – all the excitement – I probably just need something to eat.

Josh: Ok, come on. You're coming with me.

Babe: No, please. I said no hospitals. It's a waste of time.

Josh: Babe, your pulse is rapid, all right? This is blood pressure-taking time.

Babe: I said no, please.

Josh: I can take it in my room.

Babe: George can take me home.

Josh: Not until I check you out. All right? Now, do -- do I have to throw you over my shoulder, or can you walk? Do you want her falling down on your watch?

Babe: Wait, my purse.

[As soon as the three leave, Zarf walks out of the shadows.]

Colby: I know it's not a pretty job, but it's for my brother.

Sean: Yeah, catching his wife cheating will get him back on his feet real fast.

Colby: Well, if I catch Babe and Josh, J.R. is going to have all the power. Ok, the room's up.

Babe: Seriously, you're overreacting. I'm fine.

Josh: Babe, I'm just being cautious.

Colby: The cheating liars have entered.

Sean: It's a letdown? You've been waiting to catch Babe and Josh onscreen. That is what you want. X-rated equals power for J.R.

Colby: That's not what he wants. I want my brother to be happy.

Sean: J.R. still really loves her.

Colby: Babe! You skank. You're married to my brother! God.

Babe: No, I can't be here.

Josh: If you won't help yourself, let me, just this once.

Babe: No, I got to get home. I got to go to my family. Oh, God.

Josh: You ok? Come here.

Babe: Oh.

[Babe stumbles about and knocks the camera down.]

Colby: My camera's on the floor! They're in bed. Babe's in bed with Josh and --

Sean: You're missing the money shot.

Colby: They're pumping, and I'm on the dust bunnies. Oh!

Babe: I really don't need this.

Josh: Two near-faints? Let me just do what used to be my work.

George: I never should have taken my eyes off you.

Babe: This is not your fault. I'm the one that took off.

George: I let you get away from me. Mr. Chandler has every right to can me.

Babe: Well, Mr. Chandler doesn't have to know that any of this ever happened.

George: Well, it won't happen again.

Babe: Would you mind giving us a second, George, waiting outside?

George: Sure thing, Mrs. C.

Josh: Listen to me -- you're ticked at me? Tell me to go to hell. You don't run away from the guy that's hired to protect you.

Babe: I'm sorry.

Josh: I just want you to be safe. If not with me, with anyone. Someone you trust.

Babe: And what if that someone is J.R.?

J.R.: Finally. Do you know how -- Zarf? Babe went to meet with you. You on some vocal rest or something? You know, I have every one of your CDs. I'm a -- big fan. Of your music, anyway. Get the hell off of me.

Zarf: Do you think Babe really belongs with you?

Colby: Damn this!

Sean: Hey. Hey, hey. Bitch-slapping the technology will only get you repair bills.

Colby: I have to get over there.

Sean: No, bad idea.

Colby: Find out what's going on and record it for J.R.

Sean: No good. No.

Colby: Yes. I'll put on a maid's uniform and reset the camera.

Sean: Colby, Colby, listen to me. You'll get caught. Ok? Josh will know all about slut-cam. This'll be your second B&E. Put that together with your record -- he'll send you directly to jail.

Josh: So everything's all right at home with you and J.R.?

Babe: I'm sorry, but yes.

Josh: Don't be sorry. I want you to be all right.

Babe: Just not with J.R.

Josh: Well, if I had my choice, no.

Babe: It's working. J.R. and I are making progress.

Josh: You know, when I went up to the roof of Fusion that night and found Erin, I decided if I couldn't accept you with J.R., that I had to get out of Pine Valley.

Babe: You need to do what's right for you. Look, I'm sorry that I went off on you --

Josh: Right now, I just want to -- I would do anything to kiss you, to hold you --

Babe: Josh, please.

Josh: Right. I'm supposed to help you forget about me. Yeah, no one can help me. I just -- I can't -- I can't forget about you. I don't -- I don't want to forget about you.

Babe: I should get going. Is this a late Christmas gift, for Erica?

Josh: You looking for an excuse to stay?

Babe: It's for me.

J.R.: I didn't offer you a drink.

Zarf: People aren't hospitable by nature. It's not too late to learn.

J.R.: If Babe’s not with you, where is she?

Zarf: On a journey.

J.R.: She didn't go anywhere.

Zarf: With you, you mean?

J.R.: Look, what the hell are you doing here, other than freeloading?

Zarf: Babe is a special soul. A truly gentle, loving, and kind spirit. I came to see what kind of man she chose to share her life with.

J.R.: Babe and her life are off-limits. You're a business associate, not a friend.

Zarf: Well, sad. Hmm. I'm more of a friend and more attuned to Babe than you are.

J.R.: No, actually, Babe needed your music, so she got you loaded on gel shots, so she could get your signature on the dotted line.

Zarf: I am the zenith of Babe’s career.

J.R.: Actually, you're a singer, and you're going to be booking kiddie parties in a few years. I could buy and sell you.

Zarf: And this matters to you why? The anger rolls off of you in waves.

J.R.: Yeah? Why don't you catch one and ride it outside?

Zarf: Why are you like this?

J.R.: Because I'm in this bed -- with some fool who thinks he can tell me things about my wife -- my very own wife -- that I don't know.

Zarf: Your mansion, your yacht, your jet, your wife. Your very own wife. But you don't own Babe. No one does.

J.R.: We're married.

Zarf: Tell me what kind of woman you want. Where would your soul blossom?

Bianca: Just talk to me, ok? Please, tell me what has you so upset.

Zach: Someone's killing the Fusion office one by one. What do you want me to do, stay calm about that?

Bianca: Well, yeah. I mean, you usually do. You’re the guy who calmly barricaded himself in Kendall’s hospital room to save Spike’s life.

Zach: We all have a breaking point, Bianca.

Bianca: Ok. Tell me what brought you to yours.

Zach: Huh. The police are chasing their tail. Here's you, Kendall walking around like nothing happened.

Bianca: Well, we're living our lives --

Zach: How long are we going to do that? Till someone else gets killed? I have an idea. Let's shut down Fusion. What do you think of that? I'm going to take you and everybody else and send you to an island until I find whoever's responsible and rip their head off. How about that? What are you guys doing, man? Playing Russian roulette? He's going to pick you off one by one.

Bianca: Come -- you're acting like this is a done deal, like we're all walking around begging to be next.

Zach: Simone's dead. Erin's dead. And what do we have? We have -- gardenias and white ribbons.

Bianca: And something else, right? You know something else, don't you? You do. Tell me. Tell me what you know.

Zach: I don't know. I have this dream every night. I don't know why, I don't know what it's about, but she -- she needs my help, and I try to save her, and I can't do it. I never can.

Kendall: How does he do it?

Annie: Some balancing act. I guess Ryan's used to the practice.

Kendall: Do you want some coffee?

Annie: No, thanks. You and Greenlee were close.

Kendall: That's -- that's not why I showed you her picture.

Annie: No, I -- I know you want to protect Ryan -- from more hurt, and so do I.

Kendall: Well, then we're both on the same side.

Annie: I'd like that. The thing is, Greenlee's gone. And now, Erin. Ryan just lost his sister.

Kendall: Believe me, I know.

Annie: You have -- you have Zach and Spike and -- and Fusion. And whether or not Ryan acknowledges it, he really needs somebody right now.

Kendall: And here you are.

Annie: I care about him. I can't just wander off because I happen to look like his ex.

Kendall: Well, I -- I didn't ask you to wander off.

Annie: No, no -- you -- you clued me in, and I appreciate it. And I've thought a lot about it. If Ryan is attracted to me because I -- I look like Greenlee, I can deal with that.

Kendall: So you want to be a stand-in?

Annie: I want to be there for him the way he was there for me. So if I fall for him harder than he falls for me, or if he doesn't fall at all, so be it. You know, what kind of a person would I be if I walked away right now? Ryan has done so much for me. He's helped me through a lot. He's held my hand when I was terrified. He helped me get my child back. So, whatever he needs from me, I'm there. Whenever he reaches out, I'm there.

Kendall: And he has already reached out to you?

Annie: Yeah.

Linda: Is that for me?

Kathy: The funny man gave it to me.

Julia: It's my friend Tad. Yeah, he is funny, isn't he?

Tad: Let me see you do it. There's no quarter there. You can't rewrite history. You used to love that trick.

Jamie: I was humoring you. I'm kidding.

Tad: You --

Jamie: What happened?

Tad: Ungrateful little --

Jamie: Well, what happened? Something good for a change?

Tad: Oh, I worried you, too, huh?

Jamie: You think?

Tad: Well, you can give up the ghost, because I am on the upswing.

Jamie: Is there -- is there some new news about Kate?

Tad: No, unfortunately not. No new leads, but I just feel better about life in general. I just decided it's not about me, or even Kate, or any of us by ourselves or on our own. We're all part of a larger plan. So the best thing for me to do is just to go with it. And something tells me that wherever she is, Kate is -- she's going to be ok. She'll be loved, and she'll be happy.

Bianca: Ok. You're stressed. You're having nightmares. But Kendall's an adult.

Zach: No --

Bianca: You can't lock her away.

Zach: I've come close to losing her before, and I'm not going to let that happen.

Bianca: I know that you would give your life for her. But this has to be Kendall's decision, and you can't blame yourself. I mean, God -- why are you holding yourself responsible for some sick freak's crimes?

Zach: Because I'm the only one who can stop it, Bianca.

Kendall: Well, I'm happy for you -- for all of you.

Annie: We'll see what happens.

Kendall: Well, Emma sure seems to have bonded with him.

Annie: Yeah. Emma and Ryan have some kind of secret club. Emma understands that Ryan is her friend -- nothing more, nothing less.

Kendall: Well, I'm not worried about that.

Annie: What are you worried about, Kendall? Ryan likes Emma for -- for Emma. She's not a stand-in for Spike.

Kendall: Well, of course, she's not. I mean, Spike is Ryan's own child.

Annie: I'm sorry. I just -- just don't want you to worry about any of this.

Linda: Aren't we lucky Aunt Julia's a nurse? She's going to help make me feel all better. And until I do, guess what -- you get to stay with Aunt Julia. You are going to have so much fun.

Kathy: Will Daddy stay with us, too?

Tad: No, Kate has a good life somewhere. And if she's meant to find us or vice versa, it's going to happen. There's nothing you or I can do to change it. In the meantime, I'm just going to keep the faith and keep looking.

Jamie: And the rest of us will be right there with you.

Colby: Do something.

Sean: Hey, I'm trying to keep you out of a cell. Listen, when they're finished and Josh wonders what time it is, he'll look over, "Hey -- clock radio's on the floor."

Colby: He'll pick it up.

Sean: Put it back on the table, and next time, you'll get the X-rated proof you want, or don't want. Either way, you'll have proof.

Colby: J.R. is going to be so wrecked once he finds out Babe’s cheating on him again. I'm right to do this, right? I mean, if someone you're crazy about is cheating on you, it's important to find out, like, right away.

Sean: Yeah, my mom used to give me that whole "rip the bandage off fast" bit -- still hurt like hell. There had to be a better way.

Colby: Good moms don't do what Babe’s doing, and I need something to prove to the judge that J.R. deserves Little A when they break up.

Sean: If they do.

Colby: She is in bed with Josh Madden. I love my brother. He actually loves me back. So with him stuck in that bed, it's important that I protect him.

Sean: Well, your father could pitch in.

Colby: Yeah, Krystal and the Chandler-to-be. They've turned my dad into a softy. He's almost on Babe’s side, and he's useless. I'm all J.R.’s got.

J.R.: Look, I'm not discussing Babe or our marriage with some tweaked-out rocker.

Zarf: Do you ever go deeper? Are you always this surface? Babe must look good in all your possessions -- the perfect accessory?

J.R.: You know, why don't you leave a note for Babe with the maid or go track her down yourself.

Zarf: Right -- you have no idea where she is. Try the Valley Inn.

J.R.: Babe's at the Valley Inn?

Zarf: Just saw her there.

J.R.: Then why are you bothering me?

Zarf: Purely scientific. I'm learning about you and trying to find out what kind of hold you have on her.

J.R.: It's called a marriage license and a son. Now, get out.

Zarf: All that power. Why don't you use any of it to make her happy?

J.R.: Look, nobody asked you to butt into our lives. Babe didn't ask you.

Zarf: Babe didn't need to. I know what she needs, what she wants.

J.R.: So you're hitting on my wife, too?

Zarf: Oh.

Josh: Chosen for you, destined for the trash or the cleaning lady.

Babe: You can't return it?

Josh: Nope.

Babe: So what is it?

Josh: It's just something to show you how much I loved you. It's also a reminder -- if things get tough, you're unhappy, call me. I still love you.

Babe: I can still have it?

J.R.: You even think about touching Babe, I'll hand you your head.

Zarf: Babe's not my type.

J.R.: What, all your little groupies wear you out? Or maybe you just killed too many brain cells.

Zarf: Of course, trapped in that bed, it's the physical that threatens you.

J.R.: There's nothing about you that threatens me.

Zarf: Right. Your demons are on the inside.

J.R.: What, do you think you're some sort of holy demon-free golden God?

Zarf: No. I'm going to tame my demons so I no longer have to hide from them. What are you hiding from, J.R. Chandler? Do you have any idea?

J.R.: All right, I'm sick of this. You get out of my house. You get the hell out of my house!

Colby: Oh, Sean. Thanks for keeping me sane.

Sean: Yeah. Way too late for that.

Colby: Well, with my passion and creativity and your good common sense, we make a pretty good team, huh?

[Colby chuckles]

Sean: You accuse me of common sense? Make me sound geriatric, why don't you?

Colby: Oh, yo, Gramps, New Year's Eve? You think you can stay up and ring in the New Year with me, huh?

Sean: Oh, you think you can keep me awake?

Colby: Hmm, hire me a limo with a kicking sound system and a full bar and, of course, with hi-fi so we can keep the tramp-cam on all the way to New York.

Babe: "You are loved."

Josh: It's to the point and anonymous so you can actually carry it.

Babe: It's beautiful.

Josh: And every time you use it you'll be looking at the woman I will always love.

Babe: I'm so sorry that I hurt you.

Josh: No, don't be sorry. I just want you to be happy. And my stinking luck, I want you to be happy with me.

Babe: I hate it, and I am sorry.

Josh: The time I've had with you, it's been the best. I wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything.

Babe: So are you going to go?

Josh: I'll figure it out once they catch this serial killer. I just -- I can't go anywhere until I know that you're going to be safe.

Babe: Thank you.

Josh: Thank you.

[Phone rings]

Josh: Hello?

Annie: Great. Do you have a pillow for my rear?

Ryan: That's actually not a bad idea. But you -- you're not going to need it, because you're not going to fall, I promise.

Annie: Oh, right, right. I'm just going to float over the ice.

Ryan: Hey, Kendall, next --

Emma: I'll take care of you.

Ryan: You will?

Annie: Wow. Thank you.

Ryan: See? You're going to be taken care of. And next time, I'll take care of you guys. I'll rig a sled so you and Spike could join us.

Kendall: That --

Ryan: Both of you --

Kendall: That sounds really great, thanks. Have fun.

Annie: Oh.

Ryan: Careful. Thank you. Ok.

Annie: This is such a bad idea.

Ryan: Ok. Here you go.

Annie: Such a bad idea.

Ryan: You know, it's going to be good.

Annie: Ok.

Ryan: Look at you guys go.

Annie: Ok. Oh!

Ryan: You see -- oh, my gosh. You -- you do need the pillow.

Annie: Oh!

Kendall: Crazy.

[Phone rings]

Kendall: Hmm. Hello, Josh. What's going on?

Josh: Where are you?

Kendall: I'm hell on ice. I'm kidding. I'm actually at the boathouse. Why?

Josh: I have the DNA test results and the answers to Emma McDermott's family tree.

Julia: There you go.

Linda: Daddy -- Daddy is very sick, too.

Kathy: Can I see him?

Linda: Well, not tonight. We have to get settled in at Aunt Julia's.

Kathy: Ok. I like Aunt Julia.

Julia: Hmm. We're going to be best girlfriends.

Linda: You are going to have so much fun. Sweet dreams, baby.

Julia: Come on. Oh, big girl.

Julia: Hey, guess what -- we've got a new roommate. Kathy.

Jamie: Get out! You are going to have so much fun with us.

Julia: I know. Well, let's go.

Kathy: Let's go, funny man.

Tad: Whoo! I never. Who are you calling funny?

Jamie: You got good taste in friends. He makes the best hot fudge sundaes in all the world.

Julia: Oh. Mmm-mmm. What do you say, Tad? Do you want to hang with us?

Tad: Why not?

Julia: We're off.

[Kathy reaches out for Tad’s hand.]

Tad: Ok. Come on.

[Father Clarence watches over the little group as they leave the hospital.]

J.R.: Winifred! Damn it, someone get in here and shove this freak out!

Zarf: Is there anybody else home?

[Door closes]

Zarf: Or they don't want to help you.

J.R.: Throw him the hell out!

Babe: J.R., what is it?

J.R.: You get this loser out of here.

Babe: What are you doing here?

Zarf: Observing. Odd how discomforting some people find that.

J.R.: Look, he's a psycho, and I want him out.

Babe: Zarf, please.

[Door closes]

Babe: J.R. is not well right now.

Zarf: That's obvious. His aura is damaging, not only to him but to you.

Babe: Ok, and we are working on his aura.

Zarf: Well, good luck. He needs a new one, and that's something Mr. J.R. Chandler can't buy.

Babe: I really need to get back in there with him.

Zarf: Babe, please. You need a best friend as much as I do, that safe person who you can share everything with without judgment and questioning. I'm on the brink of completing my destiny.

Babe: Zarf, listen, he's in there and I -- I --

Zarf: Come, take my hands.

[Babe sighs]

Zarf: Come fulfill your destiny with me?

Babe: But my destiny is right here with J.R. I don't want to go anywhere else with anyone else.

Zarf: You're afraid to change, to take a risk. I understand, but I'm done with it.

Babe: That's good. I'm proud of you. That -- that's great.

Zarf: You have no idea what I'm talking about. Ah, it doesn't matter. I take courage from you and Bianca. Tomorrow, I risk everything to fulfill my destiny.

Zach: The dream is not connected to the murders. It -- it can't be, because I had it before Simone died. But if I could just interpret it, then -- I didn't know anybody was going to lose their life. I had no idea --

Bianca: Yeah. I mean, of course not. How could you know?

Zach: And then Erin died, and I keep -- same dream over and over again, that same night.

Bianca: But it doesn't mean anything.

Zach: And I don't know what it means.

Bianca: It's a dream.

Zach: I -- but I -- I have to see how it connects to these murders. I have to figure it out.

Bianca: Zach? This is not your fault.

Zach: Maybe it is. It's about me, it's about my past. Something about that dream, you know?

Bianca: Oh. You got to stop thinking about it. Just let it go. Just let it go.

[As he hugs Bianca, Zach hears a woman scream in his mind.]

Ryan: You just got to, you know, move your feet a little bit like this --

Annie: Ryan, I'm falling! I'm falling!

Ryan: No, you're fine. You're not going to fall.

Annie: I can't --

Ryan: I got her. I got you.

Kendall: Judging from your expression --

Josh: You don't want to hear it? Emma is Ryan's daughter.

>> On the next “All My Children” –

Kendall (to Josh about Bianca): She has a date.

Josh: Really? Who’s the lucky lady.

Kendall: Zarf.

Josh: Wow.

Di (to Aidan): Some twisted sicko is going to try to kill me tonight.

Tad (to Zach): If you’re the key as to whoever killed Simone and Erin, you better open your mouth.
