Ryan: She's mine now, Zach.
Zach: What are you going to do, fight me for her?
Ryan: You had your fair share of time.
Zach: And I'm not even close to being finished.
Kendall: Ok, break it up, you two, or I'm taking back the hats.
Ryan: Give me the controls, Zach.
Zach: When I'm done, Ryan.
Jack: Merry --
Miranda and Bianca: Merry Christmas!
Jack: Oh, my gosh! Merry Christmas, you! Get in here out of the cold, you two.
Jack: Let me take this bag for you. Merry Christmas kiss.
Jack: Merry Christmas kiss. Get in.
Sean: Hey, can I interest you lovely ladies in some hot chocolate? Candy canes and marshmallows optional.
Miranda: Oh, candy!
Lily: Our candy canes are green and white. I hope that won't be a problem.
Bianca: Oh, no way! We like candy canes of any color, don't we? Yeah. All right. Give out some gifts.
Jack: Here you go.
Bianca: Will you give that to your Aunt Lily?
Lily: For me?
Jack: Ooh, look how pretty that is.
Bianca: Wow. And this one is for Uncle Jack.
Jack: Oh, thank you so much.
Bianca: And this one's for you, Sean.
Bianca: I'll put it right there.
Jack: You still got one left, you know?
Bianca: Uh -- oh, yeah. That's right. Let's put this one under the tree. Ok? Go on.
Lily: Oh, did you get someone else an extra present?
Bianca: Um, actually, it's for Mom.
Erica: Jack has certainly been very, very creative with all these gifts.
Myrtle: Creative? Creative? They're gorgeous. A diamond partridge -- ooh-ooh. And -- oh, and two turtle dove orchids? Oh, lovely. And three -- three French hens made of chocolate.
Erica: And don't forget four calling birds made of silver.
Myrtle: I know. That Santa Claus of yours -- he has not missed a single drop of snow. Darling -- darling?
Erica: It's not that I don't love the gifts or the thoughtfulness behind them.
Myrtle: Erica -- Erica, dear, there are 12 drummers outside. Now, with your permission, I'm going to ask them to come in and beat some sense into you.
Julia: Yeah, this is maybe a little crazy running out last minute you know, I just haven't seen them in a long time, and they're spending Christmas away from home and I -- I want them to feel welcome.
Jamie: No, no, it's great of you to do this. What did you wish for? On the Christmas star?
[When Babe tries to hold his hand, J.R. pulls it away.]
Winifred: Oh. Here, you take this one. Take this one.
J.R.: Careful, Little Adam, you don't want to break it.
Little Adam: Another dinosaur.
J.R.: As soon as Grandpa gets back, you can open more presents, ok? Ok?
Winifred: All right? Open some more, ok? Yeah.
Adam: What is it?
Krystal: You don't have to say a word, Dixie. I should be the one to tell Adam.
Dixie: Krystal, you don't have to do this.
Krystal: I don't want to do it, Dixie, but if you insist, then I'll be the one to tell him, not you.
Adam: Will one of you please just spit it out?
Tad: It's ok, it's ok. I got it. Ha-ha -- agh. Oh, God.
Father Clarence: Sure you are.
Father Clarence: What'd you do, sprain your ankle?
Tad: I -- I don't know. Must've done something. Sure hurts like it. It hurts a lot. Oh. Ugh.
Tad: Where'd this come from?
Father Clarence: The chapel? It's always been there.
Tad: No. No, it hasn't. I've been walking around in circles for an hour. If this was here, I would've known. Do I know you?
Father Clarence: I know you're feeling lost, but don't worry. That won't last forever. By the time this night is done, you will have found your way.
Jamie: I have been wishing on Christmas stars for years. I know the rules intimately.
Julia: Well, then you'll respect my decision to keep my lips zipped.
Jamie: How am I supposed to help make this wish come true if you won't tell me what it is? Fine. I'm going to prove to you that it's not bad luck. You want to know what I wished for?
Julia: Don't risk it.
Jamie: I wished for Kate.
Father Clarence: It's pretty cold out here. We'd better go inside.
Tad: No -- no. With all due respect, Father, I -- I don't think so. Me and churches don't mix too well. Not anymore -- not these days anyway.
Father Clarence: Ah-ah. It seems we don't have much choice. Come on.
[Tad groans as he hobbles into the chapel and sits in one of the pews.]
Father Clarence: Up. Comfortable?
Tad: Not really.
Father Clarence: Aren't you glad you found me?
Tad: I didn't. You found me, remember?
Father Clarence: Isn't that the most beautiful display of the Holy Family you've ever seen?
Tad: I got it. That's it. Last Christmas a year ago -- you told me you were a friend of Dixie's. You said I should make a wish on my Christmas star.
Father Clarence: And did your wish come true?
Tad: Well, let's just say that things didn't exactly work out the way I imagined they would.
Father Clarence: The child is gone.
Krystal: Tad’s little girl is gone, Adam, and he’s a wreck because of it. Dixie just wants to be able to give him a child.
Adam: So you can't find your child, so you're making my wife feel guilty for being pregnant.
Dixie: What -- no, no --
Krystal: No, Adam -- Adam, you -- you don't understand.
Krystal: You remember what it was like having Christmas without Colby all those years? Well, that's what Tad and Dixie are going through right now. She just wants to give him something to live for again. You can understand that.
Adam: Yes, yes, I can understand that. Believe me, I know exactly how that feels. And if that's what this is about, then I apologize, Dixie. I'm very sorry.
Colby: Yeah, I'm fine. Hmm, yeah, it's ok.
Winifred: Hey, you want to go fishing for dinosaurs?
Colby: Merry Christmas to you, too, Mom.
Babe: We talked about taking a family trip to France. Remember?
Little Adam: Where?
Winifred: Right there.
J.R.: Can you put it on the tree for me?
Winifred: Oh, it's over here. I see it. I see it. This one. Which one? This one, or the bones?
[Colby receives a text message from Sean: “Plan a bust. Erica Xmas no show.”
Winifred: Which one do you want? This one?
Little Adam: Put them back.
Winifred: In here? Whoa. Oh, that goes in there?
Little Adam: That goes there.
Bianca: Uncle Jack, I refuse to believe that you and Mom are really over.
Jack: I still love Erica. I always will.
[Sean’s phone chimes with a message from Colby: “Time 2 deliver the goose.”
Sean: Hey, Uncle Jack?
Jack: Yeah, Sean?
Sean: Can you tell Kris Kringle to hold off just a little bit longer? I'll be right back.
Jack: Ok. Is it me, or is this party getting smaller?
Erica: If Jack loves me, he should come here. He should tell me so to my face.
Myrtle: After all this?
Erica: Well, where are the apologies?
Myrtle: Well, darling, if you are determined to have a miserable Christmas Eve, it's entirely up to you. I have given it my very best shot.
Erica: Well, are -- are you leaving?
Myrtle: Yes. As a matter of fact, I have a date waiting for me.
Erica: A date?
Myrtle: A date -- and voilà.
Palmer: What the blazes is taking you so long? Merry Christmas, darling.
Erica: Oh, Merry Christmas. Uh, you two have a date?
Palmer: Oh, no, no, no, no. No, Myrtle is just my Christmas charity date. Now, come along. I'm hungry, and we're late.
Myrtle: Yes, sir. That old coot is hot for me, but he doesn't have the guts to mention it.
Myrtle: Incidentally, how are your guts?
Kendall: I need one more, one more, one more! Ok, smile, my honey. All right, here we go, here we go. Good, good, good, good. I love it! Ok, my turn. I'm coming in.
Zach: I got this one.
Kendall: No, no --
Kendall: You stay.
Zach: Ah, come on.
Kendall: No, you are staying. You're staying. I need all of us, ok? Ok, we're good.
Ryan: Of course, I would offer to take it, but I think I'm blind from the flashbulb.
Kendall: Ok, here we go.
Ryan: Yes, last one.
Kendall: Look in the camera -- all right, and one, two -- hey, ow! Oh --
Adam: Sometimes I find it hard to look in your eyes, Dixie. It's all too familiar. I'm trying to forget how I felt when they took Colby away from me. I don't want to hold on to the hurt or the hate. But you just have to keep the faith. There's always a chance for a miracle.
Krystal: Adam got his.
Adam: Yeah. Yeah, in more ways than one. I came down on you pretty hard, I shouldn't have done that. You deserve to know the peace of having your daughter safe at home, and I would like to help you and Tad find her. Anything I can do, just ask.
Krystal: Well, this certainly isn't the old Frosty that I knew last Christmas.
Krystal: That's for sure.
Adam: It's all your fault, Mrs. Frosty.
Krystal: Oh. I love you to pieces.
Adam: Ah. Hmm. Well, now that we've settled that --
Adam: What is it you really wanted to tell me?
Babe: Little A is wondering where Grandpa is. He wants to open more presents.
Adam: Uh -- we'll just -- we'll be in in a minute. Your mother wanted to say something to me.
Krystal: You know, no, no. I -- I certainly don't want to be the bad guy here. Um -- what I have to say can wait.
Adam: I won't be long.
Babe: Come on!
Dixie: Were you really going to do it? Were you going to tell Adam that you're carrying Tad’s little girl?
Tad: Can I help you find something, Father?
Father Clarence: I told you the child is missing. Must be somewhere. Would you look under your feet?
Tad: What do you mean, "Look under my feet?" Is that supposed to be some kind of joke? God only knows where my daughter is, and you think it's funny?
Father Clarence: I'm talking about the Baby Jesus -- he's missing from his manger. Something seems to happen to that poor child every year.
Tad: I'm sorry. I thought you were talking about somebody else.
Father Clarence: Kate?
Tad: How'd you know her name?
Father Clarence: You told me.
Tad: No, I didn't.
Father Clarence: Ah!
Tad: I never mentioned --
Father Clarence: The Baby Jesus. Every year something seems to happen to him. He's been stolen, he's been missing, but somehow he always manages to return before -- ah, the manger -- it's broken? I can't put the Baby Jesus in a broken manger.
Father Clarence: Would you mind?
Jamie: My dad's taking this Kate thing pretty hard, even worse than Dixie. He puts on a pretty good cover, but he's a mess inside. You saw him.
Jamie: I wish I could help somehow.
Julia: You do help. You put out this vibe that says everything's going to be ok. It's crazy sexy.
Jamie: Whoa, whoa, whoa --
Julia: Whoa, whoa, whoa --
Jamie: I'm -- I'm starting to think maybe I should've turned --
Julia: Hey, Jamie, what -- what is that up there, on the side of the road?
Jamie: Oh, my God.
Erica: Sean. Hi. What a nice surprise.
Sean: Yeah, I'm delivering a Christmas FYI. It's pretty ugly back at Casa Montgomery -- Uncle Jack misses you like crazy. He wants you to come back home.
Erica: Did he tell you that?
Sean: Just promise you won't say you heard it from me. Oh -- this was at the front desk for you. Bye.
[Erica opens up a gift that says, “You are my heart. J. May 24, 2005.”
Erica: Oh, Jack.
Kendall: This is adorable, Ryan. I love it. I know Spike's going to love it.
Zach: He's going to love it even more when his daddy buys him the matching motorcycle.
Kendall: Bite your tongue! No.
Ryan: All right, this -- this one -- this one's for you.
Kendall: Ryan --
Kendall: Thank you. Let's see what we have here. Oh, my gosh. It's a chapel -- the one that we were locked in last Christmas Eve.
Ryan: Yep. That's the night that you decided to go full-term with Spike.
Kendall: God knew how much we needed that little guy.
Ryan: That's true. He was our -- he was our Christmas miracle.
Father Clarence: Why aren't you with your family on this holiday?
Tad: They're better off without me. I'd only end up disappointing them -- especially my children.
Father Clarence: It's not your fault that Kate is gone.
Tad: Oh, it's not just Kate. It's my son Jamie.
Jamie: Check the passenger's side. Come on, damn it.
Julia: I can't get the door open!
Jamie: Neither can I. Yeah, hi. Uh -- we just came up on an accident on Route 17 about a half a mile south --
Julia: Oh, my God, it's Linda!
Jamie: Of the water tower.
Julia: It's my friend. Linda!
Jamie: Send an ambulance! Hurry!
Tad: And J.R., my other boy. I can't forgive myself for causing him any pain. He's already been hurt so much. He's already suffered so much.
J.R.: Was that Liza I heard you talking to earlier?
Colby: Yeah, she called to say "Merry Christmas."
J.R.: She should've done more than that. She should be here, no matter what.
Babe: I'm going to hide over here.
Babe: I'm going to hide over here.
J.R.: Well, you'll always have me. I'm not going anywhere.
Colby: Thank you.
Babe: So is everything ok with Mama? She seemed kind of sad.
Adam: Well, um, Dixie's jealous that she's having a baby. She's trying to make Krystal feel guilty about it. Of course, Krystal -- your mother says that I'm totally wrong about that.
Babe: Mama has a big heart. She likes to see the best in everyone.
Adam: Yeah. Well, she found the best in me -- huh -- and that's no small feat.
Babe: You have Mama’s heart 100%. And no one else ever has, and no one ever will. Please don't forget that.
Krystal: Can't this wait, Dixie? We're missing Little Adam open his presents.
Dixie: I just have to know, Krystal. Were you going to do it?
Krystal: Yes. Yes. I was going to tell Adam the truth, ok? I'm carrying Tad’s child.
Tad: There is Dixie. Dixie. I let her down, too. I guess I've disappointed everybody that I ever cared about.
Father Clarence: Tad, what's wrong?
Tad: I am sorry. This is all wrong, Father. I shouldn't be allowed to touch anything sacred. You know what? My hands are tainted. I'm sorry, I just don't belong here.
Father Clarence: You're exactly where you belong.
Tad: No. I've done things. I've done horrible things, evil things.
Father Clarence: We are all sinners. God forgives.
Tad: You're right, Father. We are all sinners -- but mine is murder.
Kendall: All right -- oh, no, no, you're going to spoil him now. Come on.
Ryan: This one's not from me.
Kendall: It's not?
Ryan: No, it's not.
Kendall: Ok, let's see. "To my favorite nephew. Love, Aunt Erin."
Ryan: Yeah, I, uh, I don't know what it is. I just found it with all the things already wrapped.
Kendall: Why don't you do the honors.
Kendall: Sweetie --
Ryan: Ok, hey, Spike? Spike -- Spike, this is from your Aunt Erin, and she loved you -- she loved you very, very, very much.
Kendall: Hmm. Pretty sweet. I think that -- I think he's your lucky charm, honey.
Ryan: Yeah, well, Aunt Erin wanted to make sure you had all the luck in the world.
Kendall: You know, I -- I want to try it on for him right now, but we're running late, so --
Ryan: It's a little big, I think, anyway, for now, but I should probably -- I should probably head out.
Kendall: No -- Ryan, no. You can't spend Christmas Eve alone, especially not this year.
Kendall: Why don't you just come with us?
Ryan: Thank you, but Jonathan's coming over.
Zach: How's he holding up?
Ryan: Uh -- he's having trouble, you know? He misses Erin, too.
Krystal: Yes, Dixie, this is Tad’s child. But Adam thinks that it's his, and I would like to keep it that way.
Dixie: But don't you see how unfair this is?
Krystal: Is it unfair if Tad doesn't even find out that it's his child in the first place? You saw Adam just now. He was apologizing to you, I mean, relating to you. He offered to help you find your child. I mean, he's a changed man.
Dixie: That's because of you.
Krystal: It's also because of this baby, Dixie. He loves this baby so much. I mean, have you ever seen Adam this consistently happy? Have you? Do you really want to ruin that, Dixie, especially tonight?
Dixie: I don't want to hurt anybody, Krystal. But Tad --
Krystal: Tad doesn't even know that it's his. Oh. You know, if you try to make Tad happy with this child, then you are going to be destroying this family. Is that what you really want, Dixie?
Dixie: That's what he said.
Father Clarence: J.R. has had a rough go of it.
Tad: What would you know about J.R.?
Father Clarence: Oh, I saw him a couple of Christmases ago. He was in pretty bad shape.
Tad: I don't blame him. He just had Miranda ripped away from him, found out she wasn't his daughter. It's not his best moment.
Father Clarence: He hasn't had many since, but -- with the drink and the revenge. You must've given up on him by now.
Tad: Never. Ever. I don't care what happens, he's still my son.
Father Clarence: So?
Tad: So, a good father doesn't turn his back on his child.
Father Clarence: God's a pretty good father, and remember, Tad, you're God’s child, also.
J.R.: [As Santa] Oh! Hello, dear boy! What do you want for Christmas? Ho-ho-ho-ho!
Colby: At least somebody's going to have a good Christmas.
J.R.: Oh, what do you want for Christmas?
Little Adam: A dog!
J.R.: You want one of those?
Little Adam: Yeah!
Stuart: Ho-ho-ho-ho! Oh, Merry Christmas -- Christmas Eve.
Marian: Merry Christmas, everybody.
Stuart: Ooh, very good.
J.R.: Merry Christmas.
Stuart: Oh, do you think -- could you help me find a helper to sort of sort out some of these presents?
J.R.: Oh, do you think you can help --
Marian: Merry Christmas, darling.
Colby: Merry Christmas, Mimi! Ooh!
Marian: I just got off the phone with your mother, and she misses you terribly.
Colby: Right -- that's why she's here.
Marian: Colby, Liza knows she made a big mistake keeping you away from your father, and, honey, she wants to be with you more than anything tonight. But she feels that you need this time alone with your father, because of all the Christmases you've been apart.
Colby: She didn't even say that.
Marian: It's not easy to admit you're wrong -- especially when you've hurt the person that you love most in all the world.
[Josh knocks on Erica’s office door]
Erica: Josh. I'm so glad to see you.
Josh: Is this a bad time?
Erica: No. No, no, no, not at all. I -- I actually was going to stop by your -- your room when I got back to the hotel to give you your Christmas present.
Josh: I thought you'd be with Kendall and Bianca tonight. These are nice. Are these from fans?
Erica: No. Actually, um, they're from Jack -- kind of a "Twelve Days of Christmas" theme.
Josh: He's a romantic guy.
Erica: Yes, he can be very thoughtful.
Josh: You know, he came to see me soon after I found out you were my mother, and -- um -- well, he just wanted to tell me how much he wanted to be a part of my life, and if I wanted to be a part of your life, he wouldn't stand in the way. I respected him for that.
Erica: That's a wonderful gesture.
Josh: I just wanted to say if I had anything to do with the problems you two are having, I'm sorry. And if you want to be with him, I totally understand, and I won't stand in your way, either.
Erica: Hey -- what are you doing this evening?
Josh: I'm supposed to go see Jeff, but he got called in to work, so --
Erica: Come with me. Come on.
Ryan: Hey. You thought about what -- what you want to do tonight? You know, maybe just hang out at my place, or catch a movie?
Jonathan: I -- um --
Emma: Ryan, Ryan, Santa's coming tonight!
Ryan: Oh, hey, hey. Hey! Where did you come from?
Annie: We're on our way to Christmas Eve service, was wondering if you wanted to join us.
Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah, I think so. I -- uh -- I think that would be sort of nice.
Ryan: Yeah, I do, too.
Ryan: Come on. What do you think?
Emma: Hmm? Great.
Jack: Excuse me, let me get that.
Sean: Who's this?
Kendall: It's my mother's.
Miranda: Now look at me!
Miranda: Hey, look at me!
[Erica enters and hugs Jack]
Jack: Merry Christmas, Erica.
Erica: Merry Christmas, Jack.
[While Erica and Jack kiss, everyone smiles]
J.R.: So, what did you and Babe talk about while you were playing handyman?
Adam: About what a wonderful family we have and how lucky we are to be together tonight. I'm being sickeningly maudlin, aren't I?
J.R.: Dad, would you do something for me?
Dixie: Have you been comparing notes with a kind, old priest?
Krystal: I don't know what you're talking about.
Dixie: Oh, ok. Sorry -- no, nothing.
Krystal: Dixie, are you going to do this -- blow up my marriage, this family's happiness?
Dixie: Oh, come on, I don't want to hurt anybody. But I have kept so many secrets from Tad. I can't keep him from another child.
Krystal: I -- I know. It's been eating away at me, too, Dixie. Why do you think I finally told you? But when I think about what this would do to Adam --
Dixie: I won't say anything -- tonight, ok? Not on a holiday.
Krystal: Thank you. Thank you. But if and when you decide to tell people just come to me first, because I need to be the one to tell Adam, ok -- and Tad.
Dixie: Ok, I will. I promise.
Tad: Ok. I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. All I wanted to do was to find my daughter. All I wanted to do was hold her, tell her how sorry I was that I missed all those years, tell her that she's my -- my baby. If I can't, if I don't deserve it, then all I want to know is that she's safe, she has a good, loving home. I thought when you gave me -- Madden didn't care about that. He didn't care about any of that. He didn't care about Dixie, he didn't care about me, and he certainly didn't care about Kate. Looks like he chose to torture us by denying us the truth, and I chose -- I chose to torture him to find it. And I know -- I admit it -- I didn't care. Oh. And now he's dead because of me. But if that makes me as evil as he is, then that means -- what? -- That I sold my soul to do it. And, Father, that's my sin, that's my choice, not my daughter's. Not my Kate's. So if you can forgive me enough, watch over her, protect her -- if you will, I'll do anything, I’ll be anything. I swear it. Forgive me, Father. Please? Forgive me?
[Siren blares at the scene of the accident near the chapel]
Jamie: He didn't appear to be breathing when we arrived on the scene --
Jamie: And there was a lot of pressure on his chest due to the steering wheel.
Julia: Her abdomen is distended, and I -- I know that we have a bleed here and probable fractured ribs.
Paramedic: Yeah, trach's midline. I got faint bilateral breath sounds.
Second paramedic: BP is 80 palp. I'll get a line in.
First paramedic: Let's hook and haul her. I don't like these injuries. Come on.
Third paramedic: His eyes have become fixed and dilated.
Fourth paramedic: Let's go.
Julia: Did you hear that?
Congregation (including Annie, Emma, Ryan, and Jonathan) sings: It came upon a midnight clear that glorious sound of old. From angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold. Peace on the earth, good will to men, from heaven's all-gracious king. The world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing. It came upon a midnight clear that glorious song of old. From angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold. Peace on the earth, good will to men, from heaven's all-gracious king. The world in solemn stillness lay to hear the angels sing. It came upon a midnight clear that glorious song of old.
[Smiling contentedly to see Erica home with her family, Sean sends a message to Colby: “Erica home. Owe U big time!”
J.R.: I bought this in the south of France, and I completely forgot about it until now.
Congregation: From angels bending near the earth to touch their harps of gold
Babe: Oh, my gosh! It's that café that we went to! Look! Oh.
J.R.: Merry Christmas, Babe.
Babe: Merry Christmas, J.R.
Dixie: Please, God, send me a sign. What do I do? Do I tell Tad he has another child?
Tad: Please, send us Kate.
[Looking in the wrecked vehicle with a flashlight, Jamie and Julia find a little girl.]
<< On the next “All My Children” --
Jack (in bed with Erica): God, I love you.
Erica (to Jack): Don’t tell me. Show me.
Babe (to Josh): Did you and Zarf come up with this not-so-clever little plan just to get me away from my family?
Adam (to Tad): There’s something that we have to discuss about the baby.
