[While Kendall sits at her desk at Fusion, the elevator door closes and footsteps approach behind her.]
Kendall: Oh, good, you're here. You can just set it down over there. I hope you remembered the chopsticks and to spice up the kung pao. Ahem.
[Zach sits Spike, dressed in a cute little Pilgrim outfit, on Kendallís desk.]
Kendall: Whoa. Oh, well -- well, hello there. How are you, little munchkin, my sweet boy? You guys, this is a great surprise. Hi.
Kendall: What are you doing here?
Zach: We're exploring the New World.
Kendall: Oh, yeah?
Zach: Looks like the natives are very hot and very friendly. Why don't you go explore over here for a second, all right? Ah!
Kendall: My goodness.
Kendall: Look at him, look at him.
Zach: I'm going to feel out the chief.
Kendall: Ok, yeah -- hi. Hi. Oh, what a great -- a great surprise. I am -- ahem.
Kendall: I am so happy to see both of you. Um -- and now I just need a really huge favor.
Kendall: Commit me, lock me up. Just throw me into a padded cell with a straitjacket, because I have gone completely over the edge.
Bianca: Whoo. Long day at the office.
Jack: And a long night. What's wrong? Is it Lily?
Bianca: Oh, no. God, no. She's -- she's been asleep for hours.
Jack: Thank God.
Bianca: No, I'm -- I'm here to talk turkey. It's almost Thanksgiving, we have no plans.
Jack: Yeah, well, you know, I've been kind of busy at the office. This McDermott case, it's just a killer.
Bianca: Oh, yeah, well, don't worry. I'll take care of everything. I'm going to call the Valley Inn, see if we can still get a table, and I spoke to Reggie, but apparently he's in freshman overload, so I'm afraid we're going to be one short.
Jack: Maybe two. I don't think Erica is going to be making it.
[In his hospital bed, J.R. opens his eyes to see Erica standing over him.]
Adam: You will not take my child away from me.
Krystal: I can, and I will.
Adam: You have no right.
Krystal: I have every right and then some, Adam, because this baby is --
Babe: Mama, no.
Dixie: Krystal's baby is Tadís?
David: That's right. I ran a DNA test.
Dixie: Oh, God. You know, don't -- don't even start with that.
David: Krystal came to the hospital for a CVS test. I gathered some fresh DNA, and I had it tested. Her little bundle of joy -- packed with Martin chromosomes. Now, that is a kick in the gut, isn't it? Tad has a baby, and you don't?
[In the hospital parking garage, Tad starts to beat up David.]
Tad: Come here, David -- get up! Get up!
Dixie: Stop it. Stop! Tad --
Dixie: Tad? Tad, stop it.
Dixie: Please? Ok, that's enough, Tad.
Tad: No --
Dixie: That's enough.
Tad: Not getting enough of me?
Dixie: Tad, that's enough. That's enough. Tad, stop it! That's enough!
Dixie: Tad, that's enough! Get off of him!
Krystal: I can say what I want to say.
Babe: Mama, seriously, do not say it.
Adam: Do not say what?
Babe: Look, why don't you just take a step back. Come on. No.
Adam: No, don't say what?
Babe: If you keep pushing her, she's -- she'll leave you. She doesn't want that and neither do you, and, Mama, you need to stop saying that you're going to take Charlotte just because the baby isn't out here yet.
Krystal: I can fight my own wars, Babe.
Babe: I know that you can, but this one is mine, so you -- you can wave all the papers and court orders at my face that you want, but I love J.R., and I love my son, and I'm not about to desert either one of them.
Adam: You deserted J.R. when you slept with Josh.
Babe: I was wrong, beyond wrong, and I will regret it for the rest of my life, but a marriage does not have to end because of one night, one mistake, not if you love somebody enough. If you love someone, you fight for your marriage.
Adam: Yeah. When J.R. woke up and saw you in the ICU, it wasn't love that set off all of his alarms.
Babe: He doesn't want me around -- I get that.
Babe: J.R. also wanted to get drunk. And he ended up tossing himself out of a window. I am not going anywhere. Nobody is going to toss me out -- not you and not J.R.
Adam: Well, they may be in shreds, but those court orders are not to be denied.
Babe: I will not be separated from my child.
Adam: You have no choice!
Babe: I have fought for Little A before, and I will do it again -- bigger, better, stronger, whatever, you name it.
Krystal: And I'll be right by her side.
Babe: Look, I don't want to fight, I don't want to do this. The thing is J.R. is in the ICU, and he needs you to help him get better. Do you really want to waste the time and the energy in a courtroom when J.R. is in a hospital bed in pieces?
Adam: I will do whatever I have to do to protect my son and his child -- and mine.
Krystal: Are you threatening me?
Babe: Adam, don't, please, please, please. You can hate me all that you want, but not Mama. Please, you -- you love her, and you need her, and she needs you right back. I have -- I have never seen her love someone the way that she loves you, so don't turn this on her.
Kendall: Ok. So, Babe was out the door, gone -- I mean, completely gone. It was exactly what I've always wanted and what I've dreamed about -- a Babe-free Fusion. Then I had to stop her and say, "No, Babe. Work." I put it out there and now she's going to be working here the rest of her life because of me. Yeah -- see? See? You agree -- I'm certifiable.
Zach: No, I -- I don't think that came from a place of craziness. It was a -- a place of forgiveness, same way you forgave me, and my sins were a lot bigger than Babeís.
Kendall: No, don't even begin to compare yourself to Babe. I forgave you, because I'm in love with you. I'm in complete hate with Babe, and now I'm stuck with her. Oh, you think maybe it's because I'm a new mom? Maybe I've gone all soft? Maybe Biancaís rubbing off on me. I mean, I love my sister, but I cannot be hanging around her and have her turn me into some big forgive-and-forget wuss.
Bianca: Something went down with you and Mom.
Jack: "Blew up" is more like it.
Bianca: I thought you guys were going to talk things out at the hospital.
Jack: Yeah, well, talking doesn't seem to be our best event just right now.
Bianca: She's not coming home. God. Did she say why?
Jack: Bianca, I love you for being so concerned, but I will not have you being referee for your mother and me.
Bianca: I -- I'm just trying to get the whole family around the same table for Thanksgiving.
Jack: I asked her to come home. She accused me of throwing down an ultimatum. But whatever Ericaís plans, there will be Thanksgiving here. And I would love it if you and Kendall were part of it, but if you want to spend it with your mom, I would understand.
Bianca: Oh, come -- I want to spend the day with both of you. It's Thanksgiving -- that's the whole point. It's a holiday about family, not you here and Mom on the other side of town.
Jack: Hear, hear.
Bianca: If she doesn't come home, what does that mean for you?
Jack: I don't know. I honestly don't. I do know I'm not going to stop living, because she's out trying to find herself or whatever the hell it is she's doing. I'm going to take care of this family. And that means a Thanksgiving with all the trimmings, Erica or no Erica. Where are you going?
Bianca: Give me a kiss.
Bianca: I have a Thanksgiving to plan.
Erica: I had to see for myself. I had to make sure that it was true. You can't possibly hurt my children now. All that anger, and there is nothing you can do with it. There is no one you can take it out on. There is no one you can hurt. That's why you're here -- because you wanted to hurt my son, Josh, and because you threatened my daughter Bianca.
J.R.: Out -- out.
Erica: We have so much to discuss. Well, you know what? Ahem. Since I'm here and since I know you haven't been to a meeting in a very, very long time, why don't we just discuss some of the 12 steps, shall we? Number five is a particular favorite of mine -- admit to God and yourself, and a sharing partner, all the horrible -- I mean, horrible -- things you've done.
J.R.: Hmm. Damn you.
Erica: And I'm not leaving. I'm not leaving. I won't leave here until I hear the words out of your mouth. Share, J.R., because I'm not leaving until I hear you admit all the wrong you've done.
Dixie: Please, no more, please.
Tad: Why are you protecting him?
Dixie: I'm not protecting him! I am protecting you.
Tad: I can take care of myself.
Dixie: No, you can't. You are hurting yourself. Get off of him!
Tad: Get up!
Tad: Who cares? There's nothing left -- so what if they lock me up. It's where I belong.
Dixie: Stop, stop, stop. Ok, look, I know what you carry inside of yourself, and I know how you suffer because of it, but no more, ok? Please, no more? There has just been too much violence, Tad -- too much. I can't let you do anymore. I can't let you cause yourself any more pain because of it.
David: Hey, good luck, you two, with your "Together Forever" crap.
Dixie: Hey, Tad -- no, no!
J.R.: Go to hell.
Erica: Admit it. Admit it, J.R. Admit all of it -- all the pain you've caused my children, all the harm you've done to everyone.
J.R.: Just get out!
Erica: Oh, no, not until you take a moral inventory of every cruel and brutal thing you've done to my family.
[Monitor beats rapidly]
Erica: Ok, let me just tell you something -- if you ever get out of this hospital -- and let me assure you that is a very big "if" -- if you ever get out of this hospital, don't you ever, ever go near my children again. I never want to see you again as long as I live.
Jeff: Erica, stop it.
J.R.: Do you -- get her out of --
Erica: I'm finished.
Jeff: He is in tremendous pain.
Erica: Well, then he knows how Kendall felt, and he knows how Bianca felt.
Jeff: J.R., I'm going to increase your pain med, all right?
J.R.: Oh, yes.
Jeff: You should feel more comfortable in a few minutes.
Erica: He doesn't deserve "more comfortable."
Jeff: Not here.
Erica: Why are you doing this? Why are you -- you taking care of him? Why are you making him feel better? He wants to kill our son. He deserves pain, and he has to understand that he cannot go near my children again.
Jeff: Out, let's go.
Erica: No, what are you doing?
Jeff: I'm not doing this here.
Erica: I'm not done with him!
Jeff: Get out. My patient is in critical condition. Any stress could jeopardize his recovery.
Erica: How can you even treat him?
Jeff: It's my job!
Erica: Josh is your son, and that man wants him dead!
Jeff: Let's take this someplace else, come on.
Erica: No, I want -- I'm not done!
Jeff: No, Erica, come on --
Erica: Jeff -- Jeff --
Jeff: Right now.
Babe: Say something. Please, just talk to each other.
Krystal: I love my daughter, Adam. I will be by her side always, just like you will never be anywhere but by J.R.
Adam: So don't ask me to turn on him.
Krystal: The thing of it is I love you, too. And it would just knock me to the floor to lose you, but I don't want to have to choose one or the other, my husband or my daughter. I want you and me to raise this child together. I want us to be able to watch our family grow and thrive. Please, Adam. Don't force Babe to leave, because if you do, my choice is made.
Adam: So my choice is honor my son's wishes or keep my wife.
Krystal: Choose door number three, Adam -- make this family whole. I know it's not easy, but it's -- it's not impossible. And when J.R.ís ready to come home from the hospital, we'll take it from there. We'll find a way to work this out as a family, Adam. Just let Babe stay!
Kendall: Mushy vegetables, not really my idea of a good meal, either -- ahem -- but we will make do. Now, I know it's not turkey or stuffing or potatoes, but it sure as heck beats your mom's cooking. Ok, watch and learn -- it's all in the wrist.
Zach: You ready?
Kendall: All in the wrist. You just got to do a little swirly action and -- oh -- and it's all on the dress. Ok, great.
Zach: That's nice -- what is it? It's like a burnt orange color. It goes well with it. We have some peas in there, as well.
Kendall: Yeah. You think that's funny?
Zach: Nice color, yeah.
Kendall: Yeah, thanks -- thanks so much. Ok, your mama made a mess. Ok, um --
Zach: This is good, huh?
Kendall: Yeah. Oh, man -- ok. Why don't I -- actually, I think it's more of your color. Oh, sorry. It slipped.
Zach: What's wrong with you?
Zach: That's mature. I guess you haven't gone soft, have you?
Kendall: Well, thank God. It's a good thing.
Kendall: Ow -- look at me. Ok -- you know what? Mama's going to get cleaned up, because she's sort of a piggy right now, and why don't you -- you want to finish the veggies?
Zach: No, I don't.
Zach: I got something a little more romantic in mind. Come here.
Kendall: Really -- romantic? Uh --
Kendall: Uh -- you mean, like candlelight and roses?
Zach: Better than that.
Lily: You came home 4 hours and 32 minutes late.
Jack: Hi, honey. Hope I didn't wake you up.
Lily: No, I was getting some water.
Lily: This is the fourth time this week you've been home late.
Jack: Yeah, well, I have a big case, very important case.
Lily: You know, when Jonathan and I broke up, I did a lot of math.
Jack: I remember that.
Lily: If I thought about the numbers, I wouldn't have to think about Jonathan so much, and I wouldn't have to be so sad. Is that why you're working so hard? So you don't have to think about Erica?
Jack: You're really something, aren't you? Yes, in fact, that is one of the reasons.
Lily: Well, Sean said that Erica didn't leave because of me.
Jack: No, honey. My God, no. She -- Erica loves you with all her heart.
Lily: Did she leave because of Sean?
Jack: No, honey. She didn't leave because of Sean, either. No. Um -- listen, I'm actually glad you came downstairs, because there's been something I wanted to talk to you about. It's about you and -- Jonathan and you breaking up. Um -- I just want to tell you I'm sorry. I'm very sorry. I -- I just didn't allow myself to see how much Jonathan really loved you. And I'm sorry. I -- and I want you to know that if you want Jonathan back in your life, well, it's -- it's ok with me. It's just fine.
Lily: I donít. It wouldn't work anyway -- we're too different. And you and Erica are different, very different. Is that why you broke up?
Erica: That was completely unnecessary.
Jeff: Going off on J.R. like that -- he could've stroked out.
Erica: The more pain J.R. feels, the better. And it still wouldn't even come close to the pain he's inflicted on my children.
Jeff: Believe me, Erica, J.R. is feeling more than his share of pain right now.
Erica: Well, good. Look, that could've been our son lying in that hospital bed tonight, because if J.R. had found Josh when he wanted to, that would've been Josh splayed all over the pavement.
Jeff: Erica, have some mercy on the poor guy. He's in intensive care.
Erica: Mercy? Did you know J.R. just told me that he still wants Josh dead? I mean, how in the world can you be his doctor?
Jeff: I took an oath, which I will honor as long as I practice medicine.
Erica: Oh, that is really one of your biggest problems -- you always follow the rules.
Jeff: No, I donít. I'm falling back in love with a married woman, and I want her very much. The hell with the rules.
[Bianca walks in and is shocked by what sheís just heard.]
Krystal: Adam? Can Babe stay?
Adam: I'm sure J.R. will be stronger by the time he gets home. Yes, she can stay.
Krystal: Oh. Thank you. We'll work this out, Adam. We will.
Adam: Yeah, but that court order giving me temporary custody of Little Adam still stands, so don't get any crazy ideas about running off with my grandson.
Babe: No one is running anywhere. I don't budge until I have my husband back, and J.R. and Little A and I are a family again.
Adam: You never would've lost your husband if --
Krystal: This is a big step for you, Adam. And I love you for it.
Adam: Oh. No more arguing.
Krystal: Well, I don't know if we can set the bar that high, but --
Adam: I --
Krystal: A little peace would be nice.
Adam: I don't want to lose you or our baby. I love you. I want to love both of you. I want to -- I'm going to keep both of you safe. I want to make both of you happy, every day of our lives, no matter what.
David's voice: You seemed so dead set on giving Tad back his little girl. Well, if it'll make you feel any better, it's not too late. Talk to Krystal. She's carrying Tadís child.
Tad: Dixie? I said are you ok? Listen, I'm -- I'm fine. I promise, all right? You pulled me back, I'm ok. I'm sorry if I scared you.
Dixie: No. I'm -- I'm fine, ok? I am. Look, after what David did to you and to us, I understand how you feel. I feel the same way. You just -- you can't -- you can't just keep giving in to it.
Tad: It's a little too late for that. If you hadn't been here, I swear to God, I'm going to finish it. I'm going to finish it for good.
Dixie: I know you. Even if David had been here alone with you, you would've stopped before you did any real damage.
Tad: I'm not the same man, and we both know that.
Dixie: You are, you are a good man!
Tad: Oh, are you ok? Please tell me you're ok. Did he hurt you in any way?
Tad: Did he do something?
Tad: No --
Dixie: I'm fine.
Tad: No, you're not. I can see you're not. I can -- he -- he must have did something. I -- he was talking to you. What did he say? Dixie, what did he say?
Adam: I'm going to call the hospital, get an update on J.R.
Babe: Mama, you can't tell Adam that that baby isn't his.
Tad: Dixie, what did he say?
Dixie: Nothing. He was just, you know, being David. Pushing buttons.
Tad: So now what? I can't -- I can't just walk away after what he's done.
Krystal: I can't let Adam rip your son away from you, Babe. Whatever it takes to stop him, I'll do it, even if it means telling him the truth about --
Babe: No --
Krystal: About the baby.
Babe: No, Mama, I won't let you. Adam can do his worst, but he will not get my son. No one will ever take my child away from me again.
Dixie: Tad, please, just leave David alone.
Tad: No! Why should I? He hurt you. He hurt J.R. He planned everything. He enjoyed it. How am I supposed to let him skate? I'm not going to give Hayward a pass.
Dixie: No more. I can't let you risk your freedom, your future. I can't let you hurt anymore because of me.
Babe: I don't want you hurt because of me. I won't let you sacrifice your marriage. This is my battle, Mama.
Krystal: We've always stood together, Babe.
Babe: Yeah, but now you have another baby doll to think about. I'm all grown up. And I can handle this, and I can handle Adam, trust me.
Krystal: No, I -- I can't let you do this by yourself, Babe.
Babe: But you will. You will. That glow on your face -- Adam put it there. You love him as big and as deep as I love J.R., and that baby -- Adam already loves her as much as he loves J.R. and Colby. And if he were to ever find out that the baby you're carrying is Tadís --
Krystal: It'd be the end of my marriage.
Erica: Sweetheart, what are you doing here so late?
Bianca: Oh, well, I didn't realize that you would have company.
Jeff: Hello, Bianca.
Bianca: Hi. I've come here to talk about Thanksgiving dinner.
Erica: At this hour?
Bianca: Well, you seem like you're perfectly awake.
Jeff: I have an early day tomorrow. Good night, Bianca. Erica.
Erica: Good night.
Bianca: Well, at least you weren't leaving his room at dawn.
Erica: Jeff was just bringing me home from the hospital.
Bianca: Mom, this has to stop, now. It's time for you to go home, before Thanksgiving.
Erica: Jack sent you.
Bianca: No, Uncle Jack has no idea that I'm here. I'm just trying to organize Thanksgiving before it's over. And I want our family to be together. All of us.
Erica: Well, if it was so important to Jack that we all be together for Thanksgiving, he could have asked me.
Bianca: And if he had asked you, would you have accepted, or accused him of pressuring you?
Erica: Oh, sweetheart, there's no reason for you to be in the middle of all of this.
Bianca: Mom, you love each other. So let me help you pack. You can be home tonight.
Erica: No! I'm just not ready yet, Bianca.
Bianca: Will you at least spend Thanksgiving with him?
Erica: Listen, why don't you and Kendall, and your children, and -- and maybe even Josh, why don't you join me here?
Bianca: Mom, what's really going on? Why won't you go home?
Erica: Jack and I have some things that we need to work out.
Bianca: Ok, fine. Go home. Work them out.
Erica: You know what, honey? Why don't -- why don't you go home and tuck that beautiful little girl of yours in bed now, ok? And kiss her for me, will you, sweetheart?
Bianca: You're impossible.
Erica: I love you.
Bianca: Me, too.
Kendall: Good. You threw out my dinner?
Zach: I promised you romance. Chinese food doesn't do that.
Kendall: Yeah, and -- well, nothing says romance like the Sports page.
Zach: Milady, I bring you the Sports page --
Zach: And this, and --
Zach: This -- lobster out of the shell so I didn't have to do battle.
Kendall: Ah, lobster! Well, you did win the last time. You are amazing.
Zach: Eat up.
Kendall: Only if you'll join me.
Zach: I'm holding out for dessert.
Kendall: Hmm. I like that idea.
Kendall: Yeah, I do. I do.
Jack: Here you are, just the way you like it. Warm, not hot. Marshmallows on the side.
Lily: This is like your work. You didn't want to think about the answer to my question, so you made me cocoa.
Jack: No, actually, honey, the answer's no. Because Erica and I have not broken up.
Lily: Even though you're very different?
Jack: Well, the fact that we are so different actually was a strength for us. At least, in the past.
Lily: Then why did Erica leave?
Jack: It's kind of complicated.
Lily: Math is complicated, but I understand it.
Lily: A lot better than relationships. Because in relationships, the variables are infinite. But my therapist is really helping me understand how it works.
Jack: Well, maybe Erica and I should sit in on a couple of sessions, huh?
Lily: Dr. Huttinger says that love can't make the complications go away. It can create more. Like for Jonathan and me. He pretended to be like me because he loved me. But he lied to me. That doesn't make sense. If you love someone, you should always tell the truth and be honest with them. That way, you can always trust each other.
Jack: You make a darn good point.
Lily: Math is still easier.
Lily: Well, I'd better get to bed. I've already missed 22 minutes of sleep.
Jack: Ok, sleep well, sweetheart.
Lily: You know, you were wrong about Jonathan. And you said that Erica wants to stay away from you. You might be wrong about her, too.
Kendall: Mmm-mmm. Oh, oh, oh, that's just totally, totally decadent. Ah. Are you sure you don't want any?
Zach: I'm good.
Kendall: Hmm. How about one last bite? Mmm. Ok, that's more like it. This is perfect. Totally perfect.
Zach: You happy?
Kendall: Hmm, I am so happy. This is -- this is a historic day. It truly is. Because I -- I am crazy-happy in love.
Zach: Well, I'm hoping that this happy-crazy-in-love routine is just that -- routine.
Kendall: Well, yeah. Yeah, well, here's the thing. Um -- this has never happened before, because I'm the only one in my family that's happy right now.
Kendall: I mean, Josh is miserable over that slut, Babe. And Biancaís --
Bianca: Hi. Oh, goodness gracious. Thank God you guys are still here. Kendall, Mom, and Uncle Jack -- complete disaster. We have to do something. We have to get them back together again.
Kendall: Ok, see? This is what I was talking about. Total historic. Mark it on your calendar.
Bianca: I'm trying to organize Thanksgiving dinner. And right now, I can't get either one of them in the same room.
Kendall: Ok, so what, you wanted to sit them across the table and stare at each other, and they'll be fine?
Bianca: Well, it's a start. I don't understand -- what -- what is so difficult about sharing one meal together?
Zach: Well, it's Thanksgiving. Kane Thanksgiving.
Zach: I was there last year. It's -- it wasn't great.
Kendall: Oh, my little munchkin.
Zach: See? Even Spike is scared.
Bianca: Oh --
Zach: Come here, stinker.
Bianca: Well, don't worry, because it's going to be different this year, I promise. Peace, love, forgiveness -- themes of the day. Hi!
Zach: Five to one, Turkey Day's going to be a bust.
Dixie: Just let it go. Just -- just forget David.
Dixie: You just -- you just do it, ok? You have to. Look, I know we both took a big hit when we found out that Emma wasn't Kate.
Dixie: I know, but look, we just have to move past it. That's all that we can do. We have to, because we have a son who needs us, desperately. He needs you to be strong. He needs you to take care of yourself. J.R. is facing so much. He can't do it alone. He can't do it without us.
Tad: Ok. For now. For J.R. Where do you think you're going?
Dixie: Just -- just something I have to take care of. There's real hope out there, Tad. I promise.
[J.R. futilely reaches for the call button.]
David: Feeling some pain? Don't worry, Junior. I'm happy to take care of you.
Bianca: Mom is just such a pill. What can we do?
Kendall: Well, you'd think after ten weddings, she would probably have a clue as to how to make this work.
Zach: It's the line of scrimmage. Anything could happen.
Bianca: Do you remember when we were at their wedding, underneath that Banyan tree?
Bianca: And I finally thought that Mom had got it right. Like she had found her soul mate, the man who was going to make her happy for the rest of her life.
Kendall: Ok, well, first, we're going to have to just get them to Thanksgiving dinner. I mean, we -- we may actually have to ambush both of them.
Zach: And this could be a running play -- very, very tricky.
Kendall: Mm-hmm. Well, maybe I should work on one, and you should work on the other one?
Bianca: Ok, but then, who takes the third party?
Kendall: The -- who? What?
Bianca: Mom is all about finding herself right now. But every time I see her, she's finding herself next to husband number one.
Jeff: Bianca was here late. Is everything all right?
Erica: Fine. Uh -- no, actually. Nothing's fine.
Jeff: What, is it Miranda? Someone in the family?
Erica: Bianca's worried about me. And Jack. She wants us both to have the family Thanksgiving dinner together.
Jeff: Well, you said you wanted to fight for your marriage. What could be better than sharing a drumstick with Jack?
Erica: I don't think that Jack wants to share a drumstick, or anything else with me.
Jeff: Well, he's a fool. I'm not. I'm here. And I'll fight for you.
[Jeff and Erica kiss as Jack approaches the hotel room.]
[Thinking of her husband, Babe turns around and sees Josh standing by the terrace.]
Krystal: Dixie -- oh, my God, is it J.R.? Has something happened?
Dixie: No, he's fine. I'm sorry it's so late. I need to talk to you about your baby.
Tad: Excuse me. Could I please see J.R. Chandler?
Nurse: You'll have to come back. The doctor's with him.
David: Now, now, now. Did you hear what I said? I'll take care of you. My suggestion to you, Junior -- don't move, don't talk. Less pain. Now, let's take a look. Hmm. Heart rate's up a bit. But don't you worry. I can take care of that. That's the great thing about this new technology. A nurse can monitor you outside of the room. They don't have to come in. If those little screens -- if they say that you're doing fine, you're fine. Yeah, one more here.
[One by one David removes J.R.ís electrodes and places them on himself.]
J.R.: Oh --
David: Come on, don't be a baby, Junior. That can't hurt too much with everything going on with you, huh? All right, let's see. Will you look at that? Totally normal. No twitches, no tics. Totally stable, hmm? No reason for anyone to rush in. No interruptions. In other words, Junior, it's just you and me.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Dixie (to Adam): I didn't come to talk to you about your child, I came to talk to Krystal about Tadís.
Babe (to Josh): You can't be here.
Josh (to Babe): Look, if you want me gone, all you got to do is scream for help. Say you want me to go.
David (to J.R.): I have the power to end your suffering here and now.
