[In his dark office, Zach sits alone staring at his divorce papers as the clock on his desk ticks away the minutes.]
[From the other side of the door, Kendall eavesdrops.]
Josh: So you want to tell J.R. that you and I --
Babe: I am not going to let that brat Colby send you to prison, because you don't have an alibi. I am your alibi. You were here with me.
Josh: Yeah, I want you to tell J.R. the truth. I want you to tell him where I was when I was supposedly seducing that teenage drama queen.
Babe: I will. This has gone on long enough.
Josh: I want your marriage to be done with him, Babe. I want you to be with me now, today, tomorrow, 20 years from now. But I need to know one thing. If I wasn't arrested and Colby wasn't a liar, would you still tell J.R. about us?
J.R.: Yeah, call me when you get those figures. I'll be waiting. Is morning sickness making a late appearance?
Krystal: I wish. I'm sick over something else. I am the reason that your sister is crying wolf.
Colby: Excuse you. What was that at BJís? What's with blowing me off?
Sean: Sorry, Colby. I got the order from the boss man. You see, I'm living a pure life now, which means you are off-limits.
Sydney: I guess it pays to be a nobody sometimes.
Colby: Were we talking to you?
Sean: Have fun.
Colby: I saved your ass from my dad and all the cops in Pine Valley. No need to thank me?
Sean: That's very cool of you. Thanks.
Colby: How did you get him to ditch me?
Dixie: Please don't take my child away.
Tad: Dixie, that's enough.
Dixie: Please don't --
Tad: You're scaring --
Annie: Get your hands off of me.
Dixie: No, you can't -- you can't go. You can't take her.
Annie: What are you talking about?
Dixie: She's my daughter.
Ryan: Whoa, whoa, Dixie, Dixie, we just introduced you to Emma -- Annieís daughter.
Dixie: I'm sorry. I know what it's like to have somebody take your child away, but you have to understand that she's not your child, she's mine.
Tad: Dixie, talk to me for a second, please? Come here, just for a second.
Ryan: Oh, hey, hey, hey. You all right?
Emma: A butterfly.
Ryan: I know, I know, that's a butterfly.
Annie: Why -- why did she say I have her daughter?
Ryan: I have no idea, but I'm not going anywhere, ok? What about you, little one? Are you ok? Yeah? Ok.
Dixie: Please. Please give me back my baby.
Tad: If that is Kate, if that is our daughter, she's not going anywhere.
Dixie: Wait --
Ryan: Hold it, hold it.
Annie: We can't stay here. We have to go.
Ryan: Just -- Dixie is just confused, ok? I'm -- I'm sorry. I'm I'm sorry.
Annie: How well do you know her? Is she always like this?
Ryan: Uh -- she's just been under a lot of stress lately, which is obviously no excuse, but there's got to be something else going on here, and I'm going to straighten it out, ok?
Annie: We have to go. We can't be late for our play group, right? Right. Let's go. Good-bye.
Ryan: Bye, guys.
Singer: Can't tell the difference between wrong and right. I'm down
Tad: She's not going anywhere.
Dixie: You can't let her leave!
Tad: We don't know if it's --
Dixie: It's her! That is Kate! Ryan, come on, please, you have to help me here, ok? Please don let me lose my baby again, please? You're her friend, right? You can talk to her. You can go after Annie. You can -- you can tell her that that little girl isn't her daughter, that the little girl isn't hers! The little girl is mine!
Di: You want me to work for you? You tell your security crew to take me seriously. They basically just patted me on my head and told me to go play with my dolls. Um -- I need your signature on these. And I need you to call down to the floor and tell your goon squad that if I say someone needs to be tossed out, then they need to be tossed out. I have a radar for cheaters -- cards or otherwise, so -- hey. I'm -- I'm sorry, what -- what the hell is this? You used to manage at least a couple of words. What, you had to cut down? Not even a grimace or a satisfied little smirk? Fine. You want to do nothing? I can do that, too. I needed a break. Ah. I'll wait.
[After turning on the lights, Di smiles as she sits in Zachís office.]
Sydney: Could you be more annoying? Don't blame me for Sean bailing on you.
Colby: You said something to him, didn't you?
Sydney: Me? You're the one who did the deed with him and then practically stalked him.
Colby: I did not stalk him.
Sydney: Ok. You know, maybe being the easiest girl in Pine Valley ain't so easy. Colby, I saved your ass. No need to thank me. When your stepmommy and your stepsister/sister-in-law cornered me, they wanted me to spill what really happened that night you got blitzed.
Colby: Oh, like Babe is the only Chandler hot enough to score him?
Sydney: Well, she's the only one legal to score him.
Sydney: You know, I already knew that you and Sean hooked up. But now that you and Josh got it on, too? It's obvious -- you're a cheap slut if you're with two guys in the same week. Ooh, sweet. Guys love that -- they'll be lining up to take their turn. Be sure to tell everyone, because I will.
Colby: I did not sleep with Josh, ok? The only guy I slept with is a guy that just blew me off.
Sydney: Really? Wow. That's completely new information.
Colby: It's official -- my life totally sucks. Just kill me.
Sydney: Whatever you say.
J.R.: How is Josh jumping Colby your fault? I mean, you didn't make the guy slime.
Krystal: You cannot honestly believe that Josh is the reason that Colby thought she was pregnant? I mean, my instincts screamed that it was that Montgomery boy. He's the one she's been mooning about for weeks. Anyway, this is more about my pregnancy than anything else. I mean, the sure way to make a teenage girl crazy is for Daddy and the new wife to start making plans for a new addition, one that she sees as a replacement.
J.R.: So she goes around and accuses people of -- of doing something -- no, I don't -- I don't get it.
Krystal: Colby comes home after all these years away from her daddy, and, bam -- something else has taken away his attention from her.
J.R.: So that may be able to make her a drama queen, t it doesn't get Josh Madden off the hook.
Krystal: Oh. You Chandler men and your stubbornness.
J.R.: Oh, yeah? Well, it's almost as bad as you Careys.
Krystal: Yeah, well, it's almost more than a pregnant woman should have to bear. I mean, J.R., your hatred for Josh makes him the perfect target for Colby.
J.R.: What do I have to do with this?
Krystal: Think about it. Think about it, J.R. Colby gets busted with a pregnancy test. You and your father go ballistic. Obviously, she doesn't want to throw the boy that she likes into the jaws of death, so she tosses Josh instead. Colby gets all the sympathy, Josh gets all the blame. Meanwhile, our baby gets put on the back burner, and wins all around for Colby. You know, I understand you don't like Josh, but that does not mean he deserves to go to prison for something that he didn't do.
J.R.: I have another idea -- maybe Josh did it.
Krystal: He didnít.
J.R.: Look, Babe has been so convinced that -- that Josh didn't take Colby to his room that night, and now you, too. Why is that?
Babe: This isn't about us. What I feel for you, or what I do or don't want for you, is not the point.
Josh: The hell it isn't, Babe. It's the only point that matters.
Babe: Please, this is about your freedom. You cannot go down to protect me.
Josh: I thought you wanted your marriage.
Babe: Please stop. I am telling J.R., and the charges will be dropped.
Josh: So you'd spill the truth just to keep me out of jail?
Babe: What else am I supposed to do?
Josh: You know what? Forget Colby and forget prison! Would you tank your marriage to be with me?
Babe: No. No, I -- I wouldn't tell.
Josh: So you still want to be with J.R. after everything that's happened?
Babe: I know that you want me.
Josh: "Want" --
Babe: I do, too --
Josh: "Want," Babe? This is more than just "want." This is more than -- than just lust or sex or anything else you want to tell yourself to make yourself feel better. This is about love.
Babe: Josh --
Josh: I love you.
Babe: Please, stop it. And -- and part of me does feel the same way --
Josh: "Part of you"? That's all I have, is part of you.
Babe: But I still love my husband, too. I don't have the big answers right now. I don't know what to do with my life. I can't even begin to think of the big questions, ok?
Josh: You and I are the only question I care about.
Babe: You could go to jail for statutory. Adam buys judges. Jamie got knifed in jail because of J.R. Do you not get that?
Josh: Right. And that's not who J.R. is now, right?
Babe: Please, I cannot do this again right now.
Josh: Look, I told you if you wanted to be with J.R., I wouldn't do anything.
Babe: And you don't have to. I will tell him everything myself, ok?
Josh: No. No. No one's telling J.R. where I was that night.
Babe: No, no, I am telling the truth.
Josh: No, I don't care who Adam is or who he can buy off. I can protect myself.
Babe: No, I will not let you go to prison!
Josh: If J.R. finds out about us, I want it to be because you want everyone to know.
Babe: And I'm not sure that will ever happen. I'm sorry. I'm -- I'm so sorry for everything.
Kendall: You'll be more than sorry when I'm done with you.
J.R.: What makes Josh so worthy? Why believe him over Colby?
Krystal: Why blow a man's life -- and your marriage -- sky-high, because your sister gets busted, and she freaks out?
J.R.: Because she's my sister.
Krystal: Yeah -- the sister who blackmailed you, trashed a boat, stole a car. Do I need to go on and on? Look, J.R., I -- I'm not a big fan of not believing a girl in this situation, but come on. This girl, and this guy? Now, Josh may have his issues, but he's not dumb. Anyway, if -- if Colby had out-of-the-blue accused somebody like Aidan Devane or Ryan Lavery, would you believe a word of it?
J.R.: Ryan Laveryís a self-righteous jerk. He could have some ugly secrets.
Krystal: Oh, you have to be joking.
J.R.: All right, you know what? Fine. I wouldn't buy it for a second.
Krystal: I just want my daughter to be happy, and I want this marriage to work, J.R., so it's damage-control time.
J.R.: Yeah? What do you expect me to do?
Krystal: Look, Babe is a sucker for the underdog, we know that. Do you really want to put Josh in that position again? I mean, last time that happened, they got on a plane and almost never came back.
J.R.: Josh may have under-dogged my sister.
Krystal: Well, I suggest you find out for sure, before you send an innocent man to prison and risk losing everything else in the process.
Dixie: Please bring her back, Ryan. Please bring Annie and my baby back.
Ryan: Ok, I need -- I need you to help me understand something here. Why do you think that little Emma is Kate?
Tad: As crazy as it sounds, we have some proof.
Dixie: Ryan, we have DNA proof that that little girl and Tad are a match.
Ryan: You have DNA proof? And where did this DNA proof come from?
Tad: From David Hayward.
Ryan: David Hayward? You got to be kidding me, Tad. Hayward? Why you doing this? Why -- why would you get Dixieís hopes up like this? I mean, you can't believe Hayward.
Dixie: What's the matter with you? Why are you interrogating us when you should be questioning her? Can that woman prove that that little girl isn't mine?
[Music plays as David cowers in a corner listening.]
Ryan: The little girl's name is Emma, and Annie is her mother.
Dixie: No, I'm her mother. I'm her mother!
Tad: If that's the case --
Dixie: That little girl is mine!
Tad: We'll find out, Dixie, we'll prove it.
Dixie: I know it, I feel it!
Ryan: But the very last thing that Annie needs right now is to be forced to prove that her own child is hers.
Dixie: Oh, come on. Please, Ryan, just believe me. You --
Ryan: I don't doubt that you believe that little Emma is Kate. I don't doubt that, Dixie. I mean, I feel for you, I honestly do, but Hayward is your evidence. I mean --
Dixie: No, just let me talk to her, ok? Let me -- let me talk to Annie.
Ryan: Why you doing this? You're just going to hurt more.
Dixie: Well, it can't hurt any more than I already do!
Tad: Can I talk to Annie -- calmly, rationally?
Ryan: Do you guys have any idea what Annie has done for her daughter? Do you have any idea? Tad, please, help me out here.
Tad: He's got a point, Dixie. If it is Kate, if it isn't, we're not sure at this point.
Dixie: That -- it is Kate. I know it! That is my daughter!
Tad: If that's the case, it's not fair to hurt that little girl. It's not fair to scare her.
Dixie: Oh, my God. Did I scare her? Oh, God, I'm so sorry.
Ryan: No, it's not your fault, ok?
Dixie: Oh, my God.
Ryan: Nobody's blaming you.
Dixie: I can't believe I acted like that.
Ryan: No, no, it's not you, it's not your fault, it's Haywardís fault. The guy is tormenting you.
Dixie: You're right. You -- you're right. I just -- I -- I let him make me hope again. I'm so sorry. Oh, my God, I'm such a fool. I'm so sorry.
Singer: Whatever it takes
Di: Good luck getting a word out of him. Let me know how it goes.
Myrtle: Not talking today?
Zach: I'll talk to you.
Myrtle: What about your wife?
Zach: Hey, Myrtle? Will you marry me?
Kendall: You cheating slut. You slept with this pathetic human being?
Josh: What, now you're my sister, you think you have eavesdropping rights? What, does Erica have my cell phone bugged, too?
Kendall: Why don't you slap me? Go ahead, slap me.
Babe: Is she serious?
Josh: Go for it.
[Babe goes ahead and slaps Kendall.]
Kendall: Oh. Oh -- ahem. Feel better?
Babe: Actually, yeah.
Kendall: Ok. Ok. So now you have punished me for telling you to pick the good guy over the bad guy. That was my fault. No need to punish me any more by having sex with my brother and ruining his life.
Josh: Enough, Kendall.
Kendall: Here's some new advice. Why don't you stay with J.R. and live happily ever after -- until he kills you or someone else? And you -- whatever trouble you're in, we'll get you out of it.
Josh: I don't need your help, I don't need your opinions, I don't need your attitude.
Kendall: Ok, you know what you do need and what we both need, is for this tramp to stay out of our lives. I'm sure J.R. would like that, too.
Josh: You will keep your mouth shut about what you heard up here.
Kendall: Why would I ever go against Babeís best interests and expose her for the cheating whore that she is?
Babe: Stay out of it, Kendall.
Josh: You'd love to stick it to Babe and J.R., even if I asked you not to. So much for family.
Kendall: Well, I do have to admit that I would love to break J.R. I do owe him a favor for breaking me, so now I have the perfect ammo to do it.
J.R.: What did I miss?
Kendall: J.R. Ė beautiful! This Ė this is just the guy I was talking about. This is perfect!
Josh: Donít, Kendall.
Kendall: You know what? I havenít been this excited to see you since -- since you almost tried to kill me.
Babe: Letís go.
J.R.: No, weíre not done here. Whatís going on?
Kendall: Well, we have so much catching up to do. Howís Ė howís the kid? Good, I hope? Mineís great. And Ė um Ė how about the wife? I could give you an update on that one.
Josh: You know what? You can shut up now.
Kendall: Why? Iím having so much fun.
J.R.: Well, thank you for the warm welcome, Kendall, but let me give you a little tip about your brother here. Keep an eye on your interns. It turns out Josh here has a thing for teenagers.
Babe: J.R., don't.
Kendall: If you have any idea --
Josh: You do this, Kendall, you can kiss your brother good-bye.
Kendall: You're not worth my energy.
Babe: Come on, J.R., I have work to do.
J.R.: No, I'm not going to let you con me like you do everyone else, including Simone. Shouldn't you be whining to her, since she's your new sugar mama?
Kendall: That has nothing to do with this.
J.R.: How hard did you beg Simone to keep your job, so you could be close to my wife? Pick your jaw up off the floor, the drool is getting all over the place. It's ridiculous.
Josh: She asked me to come back --
J.R.: Yeah, so you say.
Josh: Not the other way around.
J.R.: Yeah. Well, I got to give you props, though. It must take one hell of an ego to always allow yourself to be rejected 24/7.
Babe: Ok, that is enough.
Josh: You should listen to your wife, J.R.
Kendall: Shut your mouth, J.R.
Josh: Keep it going and take a pounding.
J.R.: I come home to my wife. Yeah. Sucks to be you.
Kendall: Keep pushing, J.R., keep pushing. You are going to wish I tossed you right over that roof.
Babe: Ok, that is enough. We're leaving -- now. Come on.
Kendall: No, no, no, no, no. Your days of following that skank are over.
Annie: Let's get this jacket off, huh? Oh. All right, there you go, sweetheart. Are you ok? Good. Come here. Oh. That was kind of weird, wasn't it, huh? Somebody -- somebody thinking that you're her big girl, when everybody knows you're my big girl, right? Yeah, come here. Mommy loves you so much. Hmm.
Dixie: I'm so sorry. Would you -- would you apologize to Annie for me? I'm so sorry.
Ryan: Everything's ok. It's ok.
Dixie: I just -- it was a mistake, ok? Really, just --
Tad: Dixie --
Dixie: A really terrible mistake.
Tad: We're going to find Kate. I promise you we will.
Dixie: God, I need some air.
Tad: Now, can you give me just five minutes? I think you and I should talk, ok, please?
Dixie: No, I can't stay here. Everybody's looking at me. Everybody's looking at the crazy woman who just terrorized a child.
David: They let her get away. My God, Dixie, how could they?
Annie: Oh, hello.
Krystal: Hey, good to see you both again.
Annie: Hey, Emma, why don't you go play with that fun dollhouse till the rest of the kids arrive, ok?
Annie: Ok, good girl. Good girl.
Krystal: Hey -- are you ok? I can almost hear your mama-nerves rattling.
Annie: Yeah, it's nothing. Um -- could you do me a favor? Will you call me if Emma seems nervous today?
Krystal: Sure. Are you all right?
Annie: Rough morning.
Dixie: You know what? Can you just leave me alone? Because today has been rough enough.
David: What happened?
Dixie: I just terrorized a woman and her child.
David: You mean a woman and your child.
Dixie: Don't, David, ok? Don't do this to me again, please?
David: Did you expect that woman to just hand over that little girl? Now, we haven't come this far, so that you could lose hope.
Dixie: You know, you don't get to do this, ok? I know what you're trying. You're trying to suck me in again, and it's not right.
David: No, no. No, no. It's all out there, Dixie. You know this is true.
Dixie: I can't, David. Obviously, I can't believe --
David: Listen to me, listen to me. This isn't a hotel, nor is it a pipe dream. You know that little girl was one of Maddenís. What did you see in her face?
Krystal: She looks fine.
Annie: Oh, I hope so.
Krystal: Yeah, well, it's amazing how kids can bounce back.
Annie: Yeah, it's a neat trick. I wish I could say the same for the rest of us.
Annie: All right, baby girl, be good. Mommy will see you soon. Have you ever seen a sweeter face?
Dixie: Stop it, David. Stop getting my hopes up.
David: What did you see in her face, in her eyes?
Dixie: I saw Kate. I saw my daughter.
David: Good. They didn't get to you. Now, you have to believe this.
Dixie: I want to. I want to so much.
David: Dixie, I owe you this. I owe you hope, I owe you your daughter. Now come with me.
Tad: Ryan --
Ryan: Is this -- is this your way to get back at Dixie? Is that what this is?
Tad: You know me better than that.
Ryan: Yeah, I thought I did, Tad.
Tad: No matter what you believe about me, I would never, ever put Dixie through something like this.
Ryan: I just watched her accost an innocent woman and her child, Tad. Annie shouldn't have to worry about proving that Emma is her child.
Tad: Why would Annie worry at all if there wasn't a small chance that it could be the truth?
Myrtle: I'm not sure you could keep me in the style to which I'm accustomed.
Zach: Yeah, probably not. It's happy hour somewhere.
Myrtle: Happy hour? Or drowning your sorrows?
Myrtle: Darling, I think you've got enough troubles without adding bigamy to the list.
Zach: No, it wouldn't be bigamy. I'm going to be a free man soon. It's what Kendall wants.
Myrtle: What do you want?
Zach: You know what I want.
Myrtle: Are -- are you still cutting Kendall out of everything?
Zach: No, I told Kendall everything, everything she wanted to hear about me. It wasn't pretty, she didn't like it. I don't think "till death do us part" applies anymore.
Myrtle: You know, your heart has some dark shades that Kendallís does not, and -- and that's a lot for a young mother to face for life.
Zach: Itís too much to face.
Myrtle: She loves you passionately.
Zach: She wants me gone.
Myrtle: I think what is best is for both of you to wrap your arms around each other and not let go. Why don't you let me talk to Kendall, and say some of the things that you never manage to say?
Zach: No, I've said everything.
Myrtle: I mean, I -- I could do it without your emotions and hers getting all wound up and --
Zach: Myrtle, honey, this is between me and my wife. It's up to Kendall now.
Kendall: How can you do this? How can you be sleeping with J.R. Chandler's wife?
Josh: It's none of your business.
Kendall: Uh -- thanks to your little confessional up here, it is my business now.
Josh: I can handle it, Kendall.
Kendall: Why did I even for five seconds encourage this? This -- this is insane. You -- Babe is your illicit alibi? This is -- this is a joke. It's a sick joke.
Josh: Well, Dixie was Zachís alibi. Has some sort of twisted symmetry to it, doesn't it? I guess we really are related. How is married life, by the way?
Kendall: This is not about me, this is about you. Keep your comments about my marriage to yourself.
Josh: Then keep your comments about my life to yourself.
Kendall: Just tell everyone. Announce that you were with the legal slut and not the illegal version.
Josh: I'm not about to do anything you say.
Kendall: Why not? Because Babe and J.R. will split up? Isn't that what you want?
Josh: You don't care about me. You just want to stick it to J.R. and Babe.
Kendall: That's not true. I just found you. I'm not about to lose you, because Babe is a lying, cheating vow-breaker.
Babe: Donít. Don't say anything, because everything you say -- it makes me a little bit crazier and makes everything a whole lot easier.
J.R.: Easier how?
Babe: Easier for me to believe that you are a heartless jerk who would take someone down for something that he didn't do.
J.R.: What about what he has done, Babe? Can I take him down for that?
Colby: Text me after school, ok? Bye. I've made my decision.
Sydney: Call a press conference.
Colby: You're like some pod person -- or that movie where the girl stalks the other one by cutting her hair, taking her boyfriend.
Sydney: My blondeís natural, thank you.
Colby: Ok, it's official. You can officially have my life.
Sydney: I never said I wanted it.
Colby: You can't have my face, but all of Daddyís money will buy you plenty of plastic surgery.
Sydney: Get over yourself, Paris. My life rocks plenty. You know, my mom just got a huge promotion, huge. She's now officially junior assistant vice president of staplers, and I could just burst with pride. You know, her new job means lots of traveling, so I get booted from my home, my friends, my life. I'm 16 years old in a brand-new school, and while everyone else is hanging with their BFFs, I'm here talking to you. Awesome. So you know what? I love being me. You can keep your life, it's all yours. Deal already.
Krystal: Hey. How you doing, huh?
Krystal: Want some juice or something?
Krystal: You do? Ok, I'll get you some.
Krystal: Please tell me you have better sense than to be hanging out with this one.
Dixie: Krystal, you may have Tadís child. I need to know for sure.
[Music plays at BJís]
Tad: Ryan, listen to me. If there's the slightest possibility that Emma is Kate, then she's my daughter. So I'm sorry. You got to understand if you know anything about Emma, then I have to know it, too.
Ryan: Why would you trust Hayward?
Tad: I don't trust Hayward. But that doesn't mean I'm going to let you change the subject. Has Annie ever mentioned adoption?
Singer: Somebody leaving
Ryan: No. The word's never come up.
Tad: Ok, well, what about the words "Greg Madden"?
Ryan: Come on --
Tad: Have they ever come up?
Ryan: You think there's a connection, Tad?
Tad: There has to be. Look, give me a minute, please?
Singer: Lost in worry
Tad: This picture was found in Greg Maddenís storage locker.
Singer: Tell me why
Tad: This one was taken by Hayward. There's your connection -- they're both obviously Emma.
Ryan: Hayward's been following Annie around --
Tad: I guess.
Ryan: Now I know why.
Tad: Look, you and I both know that Hayward is nothing if not a liar. But Greg Madden only had one mission in this life, and that's to help women get pregnant or to help them adopt. So I have to know, does Annie have my daughter?
Krystal: What are you talking about, "Tadís kid"? I don't know anything about Tadís kid.
Krystal: That's -- that's Annie McDermottís little girl, Emma.
Dixie: Yeah, I know, but --
David: That child is Kate.
Krystal: What have you done now?
Dixie: Krystal, it's possible.
Krystal: No -- it can't be.
Dixie: Please. Krystal, for Tad.
Krystal: All right, look, I'll let you talk to her. But don't scare her.
Dixie: Oh. I wouldn't dream of it.
Krystal: What is up? You've been on a tear about Dixie for months now.
David: You're right. I wanted to destroy Dixie, Tad, J.R. -- all of them. All those years of built-up anger. But I couldn't do it.
Krystal: What, you have a change of heart? Don't you have to have one first?
David: No matter what happens, whether she ever forgives me or even ever loves me again, it'll be me. Not Tad or Slater or some lover in Europe. I'll be the one that gave Dixie back her life.
Dixie: Hi. Hi. Do you remember me? Can I -- um -- can I sit and play with you? Thank you. What you got there, a little car? Wow, it's very nice.
Emma: I'm Mommyís big girl, nobody elseís.
Dixie: Oh. Well, that makes your mommy the luckiest mommy in the whole world.
Tad: You're going to have to forgive Dixie. She was already obsessed with the first pictures of possible Kate, then along comes Hayward with a second.
Ryan: Yeah, well, I don't trust Hayward.
Tad: I don't, either. So we have to run our own DNA test, one he can't get ahold of.
Ryan: Good luck with that.
Tad: Ryan, I understand more than anybody how protective you are of Annie and Emma. But I am begging you, I need that test. So I need you, I need your help.
Ryan: Are you sure you want to do this, Tad?
Tad: I don't think I have a choice.
Singer: Sooner or later
Tad: Thank you.
Ryan: I'll help you find out whatever I can.
Tad: God knows how --
Ryan: But this -- we do this my way, ok? In the meantime, you stay away from Annie and from Emma, and you make sure Dixie stays away from them, too.
Emma: I made a book.
Dixie: Nice. Look at all the colors on there.
Emma: And look -- it's like a puzzle.
Dixie: Yeah. Sure is.
Emma: Sure is. That's missing the A part. That's missing a part.
Dixie: What's your favorite color?
Emma: Orange and yellow.
Dixie: Ooh. Very cool. Hey -- uh -- Emma, you know what? I'm a mommy. I have a little boy. His name is J.R., and he's all grown up now. I love him very much. And I have a little girl, and her daddy and I love her very, very much.
Emma: My daddy's not my daddy.
Dixie: How do you know your daddy's not your daddy?
Emma: Because Mommy said so.
Dixie: Oh. Well, you know, sometimes a daddy's not the daddy.
Emma: Look what I made.
Emma: It's a bridge for cars.
Dixie: Emma, have you ever heard the word "adopted"?
Annie: Get away from my daughter.
Colby: My life sucks so bad, you don't even want it. You bitch.
Colby: You know, you have two minutes to get to class. Your makeup is all smeared. I can seriously see my reflection off your nose. You coming to the ladies' room, or what?
Sydney: Your lip-gloss is so last year.
Babe: What is it that you think Josh has done now?
J.R.: You want me to go over the whole list again?
Babe: No, I don't want a list of excuses for that look in your eyes. You don't just go after Josh, you enjoy it. I have work to do, you should go.
J.R.: We're not finished here.
Babe: No, we are now.
J.R.: We're going to talk about this.
Babe: No, I am sick of talking. We just talk, and then you do it all over again. For the first time, talking might do us more harm than good. Just take my word for it and go.
[Alone in his office again, Zach turns out the light, takes a swig of his drink, and picks up a pen, ready to sign his divorce decree from Kendall.]
Kendall: Since when are you such a sap? Or did Babe do that to you? How in the hell can you let the Chandlers work you over?
Josh: Oh, this coming from a woman who's married to a killer. No love for J.R., but plenty for Zach Slater.
Kendall: I'm just trying to warn you. I'm trying really hard to be your sister and your friend here.
Josh: Well, I don't need any friends.
Kendall: Yeah, you do. You sure as hell do. The only one that you have is letting you hang.
Josh: Will you back off Babe?
Kendall: Just run from the Chandlers while you can, please.
Josh: If you ever want to have a brother, you will back off now.
Bianca: If this is a brother-sister thing, can I have a vote?
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Josh (to Bianca): Your loving sister would take your life if she could screw over Babe.
Bianca: Kendall, tell him that you'll stay out of this.
Kendall (to Bianca): You are jet-lagged.
J.R. (to Colby): I know that you're lying.
Babe (to Sean): I need you.
Dixie (to Annie): Will you tell them about Dr. Madden?
