[As the two couples are physically drawn together, Josh Zandman sings "Beautiful"]

Kendall: I do feel love for you.

¯ I fell asleep to the sound of your voice
I swore I heard you're thinking of me
Will you take my hand I'll show you how I got here
You're everything

¯ You're a mystery when it comes to my emotions
You're the sound of thunder rolling through my soul
Take my hand I'll show you how I got here
You're everything
Beautiful... beautiful

Josh: Babe?

¯ You're everything, Beautiful...Yeah
I mistook you for an angel when I met you

Ryan: I love you.

¯ And now I know that heaven has it all
If you let me in, I'll show you how to get here
You're everything Beautiful...

Josh: Are we really doing this?

¯ Beautiful
You're everything...

Ryan: Is this really happening?

¯ Beautiful...
You're beautiful...

Josh: I want you.

¯ You're everything, Beautiful... ¯

Josh: I need you.

¯ Everything ¯

Ryan: I want to make love to you.

Josh: God, I want you. Have I gone crazy? Are we really doing this?

Babe: You're -- you're not crazy. It's no dream, it's real -- so real.

Josh: I love you. Let me show you how much.

Ryan: I love you, Kendall. You know that I love you, but if we do this, if -- if we make love, you have to understand that I can't -- I can't stand back. I'm -- I'm going to fight for you. I'm going to fight to have you in my life and -- and not just as the mother of my child. I mean, forever. This -- this is for life.

Josh: Do you want this, Babe? Do you want what I want?

Babe: Yes. Yes. I want you, Josh. Make love to me.

[While Snow Patrol sings "Chasing Cars," Babe and Josh make themselves comfortable in Fusion’s office, but Kendall goes outside for a breath of fresh air. By the light of computer screens, Babe and Josh get naked on the floor. Kendall, however, fingers her wedding ring, unable to commit herself to Ryan.]

¯ We'll do it all
On our own

¯ We don't need
Or anyone

¯ If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

¯ I don't quite know
How to say
How I feel

¯ Those three words
Are said too much
They're not enough

¯ If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

¯ Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

¯ Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads

¯ I need your grace
To remind me
To find my own

¯ If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

¯ Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

¯ All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see

¯ I don't know where
Confused about how as well
Just know that these things will never change for us at all

¯ If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

[Pacing around the living room, J.R. unsuccessfully tries to reach Babe and stops himself from reaching for the alcohol.]

[J.R.’s cell phone rings.]

J.R.: Dad, is there any – any news on Colby. What does the Coast Guard think?

Adam: Nothing yet, son. They’re dragging the ocean in the vicinity of the crash.

J.R.: Listen, everything’s going to be ok. They’re going to find Colby. She’s – she’s going to be home soon, raising hell, racking up more legal bills to bankrupt you.

[Colby listens from the secret tunnel.]

Adam: I can’t lose my little girl. I love her too much.

J.R.: I know that you love her. You don’t want to lose her. Neither do I. I’m going to come see you.

Adam: You stay home and take care of your family.

J.R.: You need a break.

Adam: I need to find my little girl.

J.R.: You know, you don’t need anybody. I don’t need anybody. We make one hell of a pair, Dad.

Adam: Go hug your wife and son. I’ll call when I hear something.

J.R.: Wait, wait a second.

[After Adam hangs up the phone abruptly, J.R. takes off.]

Dixie: Hey, sweetie, can you get me like a club soda with lime? Looks like I have a fan club. I’m a criminal celebrity.

Jamie: Dixie, I need to talk to you -- alone.

Dixie: Well --

Di: Yeah, we’ll give you guys a few minutes.

Dixie: Thanks. Hi, James, come on, sit down.

Jamie: Di told me that my dad is lying about seeing you and Zach with Madden’s body. I want to hear you say it.

Dixie: Look, umm, don’t worry about what Di says or your father, ok? I don’t want to put you in the middle of this.

Jamie: Just look me in the eye and tell me you didn’t do it.

Dixie: Zach and I did not bury Greg Madden.

Jamie: Then how do you explain all the evidence against you?

Dixie: I don’t know.

Jamie: Well, either you’re telling the truth, or you learned how to lie.

Dixie: Do you remember a time when you and J.R. were little, and I lied to you? Hercules?

Jamie: The hamster.

Dixie: Yeah. You guys came back from school, and Hercules had gone AWOL?

Jamie: Yeah, you told us he ran away.

Dixie: Right, or he had slipped away somehow and found his way into the dryer, and he expired on the permanent press cycle. You guys didn’t believe me then. If I can’t fool little boys, how do you think that I can fool grown men?

Jamie: You're going to go to trial. My dad's going to testify against you. What am I supposed to do with that?

Dixie: You're not supposed to do anything with that, ok? You just let us handle it.

Jamie: You're going to go to prison. J.R.'s had enough problems. I -- we've done enough damage to each other already. If you go to jail, my dad is going to have to live with --

Tad: Just stay out of it.

Annie: It's been a long time since I've been out in public with real people.

Jamal: Yeah. It's been way too long since you've had some fun.

Annie: It feels good to be in the land of the living again.

Jamal: Mm-hmm.

Jonathan: Hi.

Annie: Thank you. Thank you for saving me, for saving my daughter.

[Door opens and closes.]

Kendall: I'm sorry -- sorry -- sorry I left like that.

Ryan: It's ok.

Kendall: No, I -- I mean, I -- I shouldn't have done that. I -- I should've --

Ryan: You don't -- you don't have to say anything, Kendall.

Kendall: Yes, I do. I do, Ryan. I have to tell you where I stand with you and with us.

Ryan: I already know.

Annie: You're a good person, Jonathan. You had to do a terrible thing.

Jonathan: Well -- huh. "Good" and "Jonathan" in -- in the same sentence -- I don't think a lot of people in this town would agree with you on that --

Annie: To hell with what they think or say or do. I know who you are, and I thank God that you were there. And I'm really -- I hate what T did to Lily. It must be killing you. Is she doing ok or --

Jonathan: This is your first night out in a while, isn't it? You know, can I buy you a drink? You need to try one of our specialty drinks. Let's go over to the bar.

Erin: Jonathan?

Jonathan: Everything's cool, Erin.

Erin: I'm sorry. I know that you don't want me to be concerned sister Erin, that you want me to be funny sister, but I'm worried about you -- the way you're handling everything and -- and how you're dealing with what happened to Lily? It's --

Jonathan: Lily was done with me when she found out that I was recovered, so there is no more Jonathan and Lily, Erin. And I'm handling this the way that I'm handling this, so can we please, please just leave it the hell alone?

Jamie: Just knock it off, Dad. I am not a little kid anymore. This is my family, too, and I have a right to know what's going on.

Tad: You can't fix it.

Dixie: Jamie, why don't you just let your dad and me talk?

Tad: James, do what I say and back off.

Jamie: Go to hell.

Dixie: Jamie?

Di: That didn't sound pretty.

Julia: The more Jamie gets involved in his parents' drama, the more upset he gets.

Di: I thought you were done with Jamie.

Julia: Well, I may be done, but it doesn't mean I've stopped caring.

Di: That's obvious.

[J.R. snatches the bottle away from his little brother.]

Jamie: What the hell do you --

Babe: Oh.

Josh: I wish we were on a hill.

Babe: Oh. It'd be more comfortable than this floor.

Josh: Oh, yeah.

Babe: That's for sure. Huh. You want to know what I wish?

Josh: What?

Babe: I wish that we were at the edge of a huge quarry with a water hole below. And I would grab your hand, and I would tell you to hold your breath, and we'd take a running jump off the edge into the freezing cold water.

Josh: Does it have to be freezing?

Babe: Of course. It's my dream, my water. And then, we would hit the water, and we would stay for a minute, hold our breaths and kiss -- kiss without breathing. Where are you going?

Josh: Hold your breath.

Kendall: I do love you, Ryan. I do. I don't know how it happened or when or why, but all I know is right now, here in this space, I wanted to be with you. I wanted you.

Ryan: And then you ran off.

Kendall: You've been so good to me and to Spike. I thought that I would die if I didn't make love to you. That's why I had to get out of here. I just had to get out. I had to clear my head and clear my mind and, oh, my head's all over the place. I'm just -- I'm a mess.

Ryan: But you are a beautiful mess. Beautiful. And I completely understand.

Kendall: I don't know. I don't think you do. I don't think you do. I mean, I ran out of here trying to figure out what was the right thing to do. I mean, I -- I wasn't thinking about what I wanted or how good I wanted to feel in that moment. I was thinking about the consequences. I mean, me, Kendall, thinking about the consequences? That sort of -- sort of blew me away. So -- so I stopped. And I'm furious at Zach. I'm furious. He lied to me, and he committed a crime. And if this had been a year ago, I would have just jumped your bones and said, "Let's make crazy love, Ryan. To hell with Zach," as if nothing else ever mattered. But it does matter. Ryan, everything matters now so much. I can't do that to you or me or Zach or Spike. I mean, it's one thing to be messed up and dysfunctional, but it's another to drag our kid into it. And you and me -- if us getting together, if it's not the real thing, it's not the real deal, that's a chance that I am not willing to take with our son. Believe me, we're going to screw him up plenty without having Mommy on the warpath.

Ryan: You and Spike are my family, and you always will be.

Kendall: You and I, we have this -- this history, this amazing, crazy, electric history, and it has blown up in our faces more than once. Dixie was actually right. I want you both. I love you both. But that's so wrong. I -- I'm -- yes. Yes, we have this history, but aside from everything, there's a part of me that still hopes that I have a future with Zach. If I give myself to you, Ryan, it's just got to be you and me -- just us, free and clear, no one else. And I don't know if I'm ever going to be in that place. I love you. I do, I love you. Hmm. But despite everything, there is still a part of me that loves Zach.

Ryan: A part of me is actually glad that you put on the brakes. Because I don't -- I don't want to move in if you're not ready. You know, move in on you -- it's not -- I don't want to take advantage, Kendall. I mean, you're hurt, and you got a million people -- a million things pulling you in a million different directions. And I don't want to be one of those things. I don't want to pressure you, you know? Hey. Obviously, I want this to happen between us, but not -- not because you're angry and confused, or for revenge. I want it to be, because you love me. And only me. And if that never happens --

Ryan: I'll deal. It's -- it's getting late, ok? So I'm going to let you get some sleep.

Kendall: Can I -- can I bring Spike home? I would really like for him to sleep next to me tonight.

Ryan: One not-yet-screwed-up little baby boy coming up.

[Dance music plays at ConFusion]

Jamie: What the hell is wrong with you?

J.R.: You don't get to preach to me about the danger of alcohol -- not while you're tossing one back, because you're pissed about something.

Jamie: Your mom, my dad, at the bar. You figure it out.

Tad: So, did you enjoy that? Turning my own son against me? You seem to have a real talent in that department.

Dixie: Well, did you enjoy railroading me? It's not my fault James wants answers for your behavior.

Tad: Tell the truth. You like playing him.

Dixie: Oh --

Tad: Batting those big baby blues, making me look like a liar.

Dixie: You are a liar, Tad.

Di: Leave my sister alone.

Del: Take a walk, Martin, or I'll throw you out.

Tad: I guess we're done here. J.R., are you ok? I stopped by --

J.R.: I'll be a lot better off once you leave my mother alone.

Tad: I'm sorry. I probably shouldn't yell.

Jamie: Dixie couldn't lie about a hamster. There's no way that she can lie about burying a man six feet under, alive.

J.R.: Are you ok?

Dixie: Yeah, I'm fine.

J.R.: What did Tad do to you?

Dixie: Have they heard anything about Colby?

J.R.: Nothing.

¯ I feel
I want to feel so alive

Dixie: I'm sorry, sweetie.

¯ The lights are on ¯

[Colby starts to come out of the tunnel but retreats again when she hears voices.]

Sydney: Aunt Winifred, Casa Chandler’s been fun, but I want to go home. Like, now.

Winifred: Sydney, it has been a very long day. Could we talk about this tomorrow?

Sydney: Aunt Winifred, I can't stay here. You don't understand. This is beyond depressing for me. There's no way I'm sticking around for some funeral.

Winifred: They are going to find Ms. Colby, so don't talk to me about a funeral.

Sydney: Ok, well, school's already started. Why hasn't my mom called to bring me home yet?

Winifred: Oh, yeah -- you know what? Sit down, sweetie. Sit. I was going to talk to you about this tomorrow morning, but -- I spoke to your mom about an hour ago, and she's got a new job, and she's going to be traveling a lot for the next six months, which means --

Sydney: Which means that my mom doesn't want me home again, at all.

Winifred: She just doesn't want to leave you alone, honey.

Sydney: No, Aunt Winnie, my mom just doesn't want the hassle of me around, because --

Winifred: She asked if you could stay here, start school at PV High School --

Sydney: No! I can't stay!

Winifred: Would you please keep your voice down?

Sydney: The Chandlers don't want me here. Every time they look at me, they're just going to hate me, because I'm ok and Colby’s gone. I'm here, and Colby’s dead.

Winifred: Go to bed, sweetie. All right? We will talk about this some more tomorrow.

Sydney: Ok, well, this isn't over.

[Once alone, Colby tiptoes into the living room and reads the front page of the Pine Valley Bulletin: Chandler daughter lost at sea: criminal charges pending if found.

J.R.: I'm not going to turn my back on you, Mom.

Dixie: J.R., you have to let me handle this, ok? You have your own life, you have your family. They need you. Ok? You have your son. You have Babe.

Babe: Where'd you go?

Josh: It's time.

Babe: For what? What are you doing? Ha-ha! Where are we going?

[Josh picks up Babe, twirls her around, then carries her off.]

Ryan: Yeah, little man, that's right. Yeah. Ok, now -- now, you need -- you need to take care of your mommy tonight, and if she tells you that she doesn't need it, you better not believe her, ok? Good night, Kendall.

Kendall: Ryan, wait.

Ryan: Good night.

[Door opens and closes as Ryan leaves.]

Jamal: Well, it took a lot of work, but I managed to keep everything about the network out of the media after Terry's death. It was -- Erin?

Erin: Huh?

Jamal: Why don't you just --

Erin: Sorry.

Jamal: Trust Jonathan? Believe him when he says that he'll be fine.

Erin: Hold on. You know what? I can finish this conversation for you. It'll go something like this. "Erin, you worry too much about your brother. Erin, he's an adult. He can take care of himself. And, whoa, Erin. Get a life, Erin."

Jamal: Not exactly.

Erin: Well, that's ok. It's -- it's the same pearls of wisdom I've been getting for most of my adult life.

Jamal: Oh. Well, it's just I've been with the network for a while now, and I just -- I understand the bond that develops between siblings that come from abusive families.

Erin: Annie told me that the best thing that I can do is -- is to show women that there can be life after abuse. You know? That -- that you don't have to be damaged. And -- and that you can find happiness.

Jamal: Annie's right.

Erin: I want that. I want to be happy, Jamal.

Jamal: Well, then do it, Erin. Be happy.

Jonathan: That is to your freedom.

Annie: Takes a little getting used to. I just called to check on Emma. Of course, she's fine, in bed, but I still can't stop calling every 30 minutes. I know it sounds crazy, but --

Jonathan: No --

Annie: It's --

Jonathan: No, no. It does not sound crazy. It sounds like a wonderful mom. And you're never going to stop trying to protect her. You hungry? Because we have some nachos that are phenomenal. They go really good with pink drinks. But I guess everything goes really good with pink drinks.

Annie: So how long were you married to Lily? I'm sorry. You know, if you don't want to talk about her, I understand.

Jonathan: No, it's all right. It's all right. We were married on June 2 of this year at 5:14 p.m. and 54 seconds. That's when the judge declared us man and wife. You know, Lily would be able to tell you the -- the months, the days, the minutes, the seconds, but I -- I just -- I want to help her, but I can't.

Annie: You have helped Lily. You stopped Terry in time. Jonathan, you gave Lily the rest of her life.

Josh: Ok --

Babe: What are you doing?

Josh: All right, you ready?

Babe: Ready, I guess, for what? Ah! Oh, my -- cold! Oh, my --

Josh: Hey, it's your wish, your water.

Babe: Oh, my gosh! This is awesome! Where did you find this thing?

Josh: I saw it in the supply closet the other day.

Babe: And why would Fusion need a kiddie pool?

Josh: Who knows? But it's the perfect way to fulfill your quarry/water hole fantasy. There's no cliff, but I figured --

[Babe giggles as she kisses Josh.]

J.R.: You're my mother. I'm not abandoning you.

Dixie: But what -- what about your son? What about your wife? I mean, shouldn't you be home with them right now? Your sister is missing.

J.R.: Babe's not at home. She's upstairs at Fusion working.

Dixie: Ok, well, go get her. Go on. Go get your wife.

Colby: Oh --

Sydney: Colby?

[Sydney catches Colby trying to sneak back into the secret tunnel with an armful of snacks.]

Kendall: You are so beautiful.

[Spike cries]

Kendall: Hmm. Shh. I know. I miss your daddy, too. I wish he were here.

[Spike stops crying]

Kendall: He's pretty special. Hopefully, someday, you'll grow up to be just like him. So generous with your love. And hopefully, one day, you will meet a very lucky little girl, tell her that you love her. And hopefully, she'll be able to give you the love that you deserve.

Annie: Looks like you could use one of these.

Tad: Of course, you love Dixie. She practically raised you.

Jamie: She is like a mom to me, Dad.

Tad: Well, she's changed. She's changed a lot.

Jamie: Of course, she has. She almost died.

Tad: Then she gave away my daughter. Listen, Dixie was looking for Kate for a long time -- for years. She was desperate. Desperation can make people do terrible things.

Dixie: Yeah, that's right. And if anybody knows what desperation can drive you to, it's Tad.

Jamie: You see? Haven't you done enough already? No, no, no -- I don't want to hear it, ok?

Josh: Listen, the pool's not full, so I'm going to go get a few more buckets of water, all right?

Babe: Everything we need is right here.

[Fusion’s elevator door opens and closes.]

J.R.: Babe? Hello? Anybody here? It's me. Where the hell are you, Babe?

[While Josh and Babe stand kissing in the kiddie pool on the roof terrace, downstairs J.R. picks up their blanket off the floor.]

J.R.: What the --

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Annie: It's time for Emma and me to move on, start over.

Ryan: Don't go.

Kendall (to Spike): I love you, Ryan.

[Phone rings and startles Kendall.]

[Walking onto Fusion’s rooftop, J.R. finds his wife kissing Josh.]

J.R.: Babe?
