Jack: He has a lawyer. I'll be representing Jonathan.

[While Lily lies in her hospital bed, Michael Bublť sings ďHomeĒ]

Į Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris or Rome
But I wanna go home
Mmmmmmmm Į

Ryan: You want to represent Jonathan? What is this, a joke?

Jack: No, it's no joke. I'm taking the case. I want to make sure we get justice for what Terry McDermott did.

Derek: Everybody in my office, now.

[As Michael Bublť continues singing, Zach glumly sits alone in his dark jail cell, Kendall hates Dixieís sight at the police station, the injured teens tearfully limp around the hospital, and a disheveled Colby dashes into her dadís empty mansion.]

Į Oh I miss you, you know
And Iíve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
ďIím fine baby, how are you?Ē
Well I would send them but I know that itís just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than that

Another aeroplane
Another sunny place
Iím lucky I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, I gotta go home

Let me go home
Iím just too far from where you are
I wanna come home Į

Adam: I'm Adam Chandler. Any word on my daughter?

Officer: Not yet. We've covered the breakwater, the immediate area. There's no sign.

Adam: Whatever it takes, whatever it costs, I want it done.

Officer: We're doing everything we can.

Babe: J.R., no. Oh, my God.

J.R.: This is J.R. Chandler, calling about Colby Chandler. Is there any news?

Babe: Is there any word?

[Colby scurries around the living room listening to J.R. and Babe yelling about her.]

J.R.: They put me on hold. A life-and-death situation, I'm listening to music. Nothing? How incompetent are you?

Babe: J.R., they're doing the best that they can.

J.R.: Colby is one spoiled little twit. She shows up here with a pack of cops on her tail. Now she drains my dad's wallet dry for this stupid part I mean -- now she's putting him through this?

Babe: Hey, what happened with the boat -- it was an accident, sweetie.

J.R.: She's nothing but one giant walking, whining, accident -- all about herself! You know, it wasn't enough for her to steal the boat -- she had to try to drive it. How stupid is she?

Babe: She's a kid! Didn't you ever do anything crazy when you were her age?

J.R.: You know, the last thing this family needs is more grief. It's been nothing but "gimme, gimme, gimme" since she walked through this door. Oh. If they find her alive, I'm going to kill her myself!

Babe: J.R., she's just trying to fit in, be a part of the family, and she's had a really rough time.

J.R.: Well, I think that black convertible in the driveway would've made it a lot easier for her.

Babe: Snark all you want, but I know that you're worried, and it's ok that you're upset.

J.R.: What? Dad and Krystal said they were going back to the yacht club. I'm going to go meet them there.

Babe: Ok, I'll -- I'll go with you.

J.R.: No, why don't you stay here. There's nothing you can really do.

Babe: J.R., I'm coming with you.

J.R.: , Maybe the Coast Guard will find something by the time we get there. Let's go.

Babe: Ok.

J.R.: There's no one here.

Lt. Perry: Official business. Any word on your sister?

J.R.: No. Are we done?

Lt. Perry: I'm here about the boating accident. Does a Sydney Harris live here?

J.R.: Yeah, she's our housekeeper's niece, but I'd check the hospital if I were you.

Lt. Perry: Been there. Half of Pine Valleyís brat pack is in the ER. Some are hurt pretty bad. Hey, your sister really ended her party with a bang.

Babe: Where do you get off putting all this on Colby?

Lt. Perry: Preliminary reports say she ran that boat aground.

J.R.: You have no proof. You can't be sure of it.

Lt. Perry: I know enough. She's a Chandler, not a surprise.

J.R.: Why don't you back off.

Lt. Perry: What is it, Mr. Chandler? Did one of your ancestors defile an ancient tomb or something? It is one disaster after another with your family.

J.R.: Look, my sister could be dead.

Lt. Perry: I'm sorry. No kid deserves to die for being dumb. I hope she turns up -- alive.

Babe: Thank you.

Lt. Perry: I'll come back later to interview the Harris girl. Listen, some advice --

J.R.: Why don't you stuff it!

Lt. Perry: Lots of alcohol, lots of damage, lots of injuries -- whole lot of charges for one little girl. You might want to lawyer up.

J.R.: Get out.

Lt. Perry: With all those mommies and daddies, their little darlings' lives nearly lost, by the time you work your way through the lawsuits, you might have to put this place on the market.

Babe: Now would be a really good time for you to leave.

Lt. Perry: Your sister's already facing a hearing for a high-speed police chase, otherwise known as resisting arrest. If they find her guilty, on top of this demolition derby, she'll spend every birthday until her Sweet 21st behind bars, if she's lucky. And from what I've seen, she's not lucky.

Derek: This day just keeps getting more interesting.

Ryan: Hey, Derek, do you want to give us a minute, please?

Derek: I'll give you two.

Ryan: All right, Jack. What kind of stunt is this?

Jack: No stunt, Ryan. Your brother needs a lawyer, a good one. Here I am.

Ryan: I'm going to give you ten seconds to explain what you're doing here, and you better not be wasting our time.

Kendall: It's never enough, is it? You take and take and take until there's nothing left.

[Dixie sighs]

Kendall: First cell on the right, but you know that already -- Zachís been in there so much. Was it your idea? Did you push him into this, to go after Tad and beat up the only man who can tank your alibi?

Dixie: I didn't know anything about it, not that I expect you to believe me.

Kendall: The way that you do that, all high and mighty -- you suck lives dry in your sleep, and then you say "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to." But here you are -- you never stop, you never go away, and now my marriage is over.

Dixie: Oh, please. That is your fault, not mine.

Kendall: Not that you have a shot with my husband, anyway. You won't see the outside of a prison until you're a miserable, rotting old hag.

Dixie: Oh. That -- that's nice. That's nice. Well, at least I'm not a hypocrite. I mean, you act like you and Zach are some great big love story. It's so sad, it's such a joke. The minute that he gets into some kind of trouble, you're all up in his face, "Did you do it? Did you do it?" And for what? Why? He told you -- he's innocent. He didn't do it. He told you over and over again, but that's not enough for you, is it? I'm getting the feeling nothing is ever good enough for you. Well, Zach is in prison now. He doesn't need to be bowing and scraping to your latest insecurity.

Kendall: I have the right to know the truth.

Dixie: You want to know what the truth is? You're a selfish bitch. You don't deserve a man like him.

Derek: Ok, take it down a notch.

Dixie: Oh -- with pleasure, really. You know, the further away I am from this woman, the better. I'm here to see Zach.

Derek: Go right ahead.

Dixie: Thank you.

Derek: All that anger -- use it for something good. Give me the real story about Zach and Dixie. Their alibi is bull -- you know it, I know it, Tadís testimony confirms it. Now, if you help me, we got this thing in the can.

Dixie: Well, why don't you go ahead? This is your chance for payback. Come on, how sweet would that be? You could get rid of Zach and me for good. Go ahead. Tell Derek what he wants to hear.

Jack: If it hadn't been for Jonathan -- he saved Lily.

Jonathan: I -- I haven't been able to find out. Jack, he didn't -- I mean, she wasn't --

Jack: No, you got there in time. Lily was not raped.

[Jonathan sits down and cries with relief.]

[As her monitor beeps, Lily lies unresponsive in her hospital bed.]

Julia: The patient is incredibly sensitive to tactile stimulation.

Nurse: No invasive procedures?

Julia: Absolute minimum. She needs a quiet, controlled environment -- limited stimuli.

Nurse: What about visitors?

Julia: Very few, and only those OKíd by staff.

[Upset by the nursesí conversation so close to her, Lily retreats further into the recesses of her mind.]

Lily: The quadratic equation is a polynomial equation of the second degree with a, b, and c as the coefficients.

Julia's voice: [Echoing] Dr. Martin's has instructed we put her on IV fluids with calorie replacement. Start with D-5W and sodium chloride.

Nurse's voice: [Echoing] How many ccs?

Lily: Quadratic coefficient a is the coefficient of x2 and the linear coefficient b is the coefficient of x.

Julia's voice: [Echoing] We'll replace lytes and calories if needed. Dr. Martin is keeping her on IV fluids and calorie replacement. Start with D-5W and sodium chloride.

[Monitor beeps]

Nurse's voice: [Echoing] How many ccs?

Julia's voice: [Echoing] 100 an hour.

Lily: The linear coefficient b is the coefficient of x.

Julia: She'll be fully re-evaluated tomorrow. Her meds and dosages will be adjustable.

Nurse: Such a beautiful girl.

Julia: Yes, she is.

Jonathan: You want to help me?

Jack: I know you have no reason to believe me. I -- I realize that.

Ryan: Just get to the point, Jack.

Jack: The point.

Ryan: Oh.

Jack: I've made a lot of mistakes. But there is one thing that I know, and that is the law. Your brother needs an attorney, a damn good one. That would be me. Jonathan, I was wrong about you and Lily, about so many things. The more she fell in love with you, the more I hated you. The more she reached out for you, the harder I held on to her, because when I looked at you, all I saw was a Lavery. And the Lavery men do have a history of hurting the women in my family. You were right, Ryan. I never got over what your brother Braden did to my sister, Kit, and I just held on to that anger, turned it against you, and you, Jonathan. It was my anger that hurt Lily, that hurt you, that hurt a lot of people. I can't undo the damage that I've done. But I can help if you'll let me.

Ryan: We don't need your help.

Kendall: Find someone else, Derek. I'm out of it. I am done. I have a son to raise, I have a company to run. I have a life to get back together. If you want to slam Zach and Dixie into the ground, fine, go for it, but not with me.

Derek: Look, Slaterís as bad as they come. Whether he cheated on you or not, he's let you down how many times? And Dixie -- there's no way in the world you should keep your mouth shut to protect her.

Kendall: You're good. Hmm, you're -- you're good. You -- you make it really hard to say no.

Derek: Sounds like you're holding back. Now, Zach and Dixieís alibi will unravel without you or with you. But it was an alibi you were complicit in, which leaves you open to aiding and abetting, accessory after the fact. You want to be in lockdown when Spike takes his first steps?

Kendall: Wow. You're very impressive. Good cop/bad cop all you want, I'm sorry, Derek. My answer is still the same.

Derek: Why take the risk? Why not protect yourself and get a little payback at the same time?

Kendall: You can fight down and dirty with someone else. I'm a mom now. My life is about my son, my future, and nothing but good things. I won't be one of those people who chokes on their own hate.

Dixie: Hey. You ok?

Zach: You shouldn't be here.

Dixie: Yeah, well, neither should you.

[Zach sighs]

Zach: Same old story, huh? Derek's going to throw you in jail for yawning in public. And Tadís going to testify that he saw you do it.

Dixie: My God. What happened to all of our friends?

Zach: Huh.

Dixie: I feel like we're surrounded by wolves.

Zach: No, they're not wolves, honey. These are rats -- gnaw at our heels, desperate and vicious, anything to get on this little witch-hunt bandwagon, anything to hide their own mistakes and their stupidity. Oh, man. Tearing apart families, tearing apart lives, all in the name of justice. Justice! Hey, Derek! Can you hear me? I can hear you -- I can hear your music!

Dixie: Oh, man, Zach.

Zach: What do you want from me?

Dixie: Maybe you shouldn't do this.

Zach: What do you want? Why are you here?

Dixie: Um -- I'm here just to make sure --

Zach: Make sure of what?

Dixie: That you're ok.

Zach: That everything's ok, that everything's fine? You can't fix this. You can't do it.

Dixie: I know. Don't give up.

Zach: It's over. It's over. The good guys won.

[Colby sighs as she stares at her dadís picture.]

Colby: I love you, Daddy. I'm so sorry.

[Hearing the front door close, Colby runs to hide in the living room again.]

Sydney: This is unbelievable! Ugh! So insane. Out of control. This is a nightmare. You know, I'd tell you to pinch me to wake me up, but I hurt everywhere. At least I'm alive. I mean, Colby -- she could be dead. What about you? You're the one who's all nautical. Why'd you let her near the wheel?

Sean: She grabbed it.

Sydney: What if she's dead?

Sean: What if she is? Nothing we can do about it.

Sydney: That's so harsh.

Sean: It's called reality, Syd. If Colby bit it, end of story.

Sydney: Ah, you're such a jerk.

Sean: Look, it's not like I want Colby dead, ok? I hope that they find her alive and -- and ragging about how cold the water was. But if they don't -- death is a part of life, Syd. Deal with it. One day, you're doing tequila body shots, the next, you're on a slab. This is nature's way of saying "See ya."

Sydney: What kind of freak are you? How can you be so cold?

Sean: Look, not everybody has a magic baby to save her life.

Adam: Fine, double the size of the team. Bring in a helicopter, some boats. I mean, whatever it takes, I'll pay for it.

Officer: Every available man, boat, and chopper is on this. I'll update you every hour.

Krystal: Thank you.

[Helicopters hover]

Krystal: They are going to find her, Adam -- alive. This is just going to be another adventure for her blog.

Adam: Yeah. I -- I promised Colby that I would always rescue her. Huh. Now I can't -- I can't do anything. There's absolutely nothing I can do. It's my fault, Krystal. I spoiled her, I gave her everything she asked for. I -- I tried so hard to make up for all those years we lost.

Krystal: The only thing that you are guilty of is loving Colby bigger and better and more than any father ever could.

Adam: Last time I saw her, I yelled at her and threatened her! But now she may be dead.

Krystal: Adam, that child is pure Chandler. There is no way in Hades a little sea water is going to keep her down. She is going to be back home and sleeping in till noon before you know it.

[Adam chuckles then hugs Krystal while Babe watches from the sidelines wondering why J.R. wonít let her comfort him.]

Adam: Oh. Thank God for you. I don't think I could make it without you.

Krystal: The only way that we make it to the other side is together, hmm?

J.R.: Ramp up the search, crank up the manpower, find my sister! Look, if you can't do it, I'll hire somebody that can!

Ryan: You've wanted to bury Jonathan since day one, and now you want us to believe that you're just going to let all that go?

Jack: I want you to believe that I will fight for him with everything I have.

Ryan: Uh, no, Jack. You're going to mess up his case, and then Jonathan will get a life sentence, and then you'll get everything that you've always wanted.

Jack: I understand your being suspicious, Ryan. Just give me a chance to prove you're wrong.

Ryan: Jack, I can't gamble my brother's life --

Jonathan: Ryan?

Ryan: On your word.

Jonathan: I want to talk to Jack -- alone.

Ryan: You're not seriously considering his offer, are you? I'll be right outside.

Jonathan: You've slammed me, harassed me, threatened me. No matter how hard I tried, no matter what I did to prove to you that I had changed, you refused to believe. And you refused to see what Lily and I had. And you made my life miserable and Lilyís. And you finally, finally broke us up for good, and now that it's all over, that it's completely finished, are you telling me that you get it? What do you want me to do here, Jack you -- you want me to trust you so that, what? So that you can unload your guilt?

Amanda: Lily, it's Amanda. Lily? How you doing, girlfriend? You are going to be ok. And we all know you're going to be just fine, and we are all here to help, especially Jonathan. He's still crazy in love with you, and he needs you. You know, he got rid of the bad man for good, so you are safe now. You can help him, Lily. You really can. Please come back -- for Jonathan, please.

Jonathan: I let you help me, and what? Huh? You -- you get a free pass to redemption?

Jack: I know "I'm sorry" isn't nearly enough, Jonathan. But I am, for everything.

Jonathan: Jack, wait. I begged you. I begged you for a second chance, so I could show you that I was the man I was claiming to be. I begged you!

Jack: I know I don't even have the right to ask.

Jonathan: Maybe this is what we all need, huh? A second chance -- for all of us.

Kendall: All right, ok. You don't look so good there.

Ryan: Ohh.

Kendall: You look like hell, actually.

Ryan: Now, is that any way to talk to the father of your child? Now, come on, I'm fine.

Kendall: Ok, great. Well, then, you look fabulous for someone who's about to bleed to death all over the floor. Now, home, now!

Ryan: No --

Kendall: You need to go home now, no back talk!

Ryan: I'm not going anywhere right now, Kendall.

Kendall: Is Jonathan going to be all right?

Ryan: I'll know that when he gets out of there. How about you? You going to be all right?

Kendall: Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm over the flippin' moon. I'm -- I'm good. My husband could be in prison forever, and the slut who wants him just went to make it all better.

Dixie: You've got to calm down, ok?

Zach: You know what?

[Zach sighs]

Zach: Right or wrong, it makes no difference, because our sin against this town, our crime against this town, is that we didn't play by their rules, and they will hang us for it.

Dixie: It's not over.

Zach: It is over, Dixie, because we made it happen. We exposed Madden. We exposed him. You know, we went after him and after his insanity. If we hadn't, he'd still be out there -- hurting kids, hurting mothers. We did it. And this? This is our prize. This is our reward. Look at this, huh? Nice -- got a place to sleep, place to sit. I got food.

[Zach flings his food tray against the wall.]

Dixie: Ok, really. You have really got to calm down.

Zach: What did I ask? I asked you to leave. I asked you not to be here.

Dixie: I'm sorry. I am not running.

Zach: You're not running -- you're going to end up here.

Dixie: Look, even if I wanted to leave, I couldn't -- do you understand that they're -- they're watching me, 24 hours a day now? There's nothing I can do. Zach, stop! Zach, stop it, please! Please stop, please!

[Zach flips out and throws everything in his jail cell around.]

Zach: Hey, Derek! Huh, are you watching me? Watch it now! Come down here, and watch your lady dance!

Kendall: Zach --

Derek: What the hell's going on, Slater? Going nuts?

Zach: Hey, Derek, just in time for the party.

Derek: Drop it, now!

Kendall: My God!

Zach: Why don't you come in here and teach me a lesson, one on one? Come on.

Derek: Step back!

Zach: You're scared of me, aren't you? You think I'm going to rip off your head and send it to your sister.

Derek: Ease up, Slater, or you'll be sorry.

Zach: What more can you do to me? Come in here! I'm asking you a favor! The two town idiots -- you and me, two minutes, now!

Kendall: What did you do to him? What did you say?

Zach: Shh. Everyone, keep it down. That's my wife. Ex-wife. What? That's my wife. Still my wife. And the ever handsome Lavery. What's going on here? Hmm? What happened? Doing this behind my back? Be a man. Come on, come in here. Come on, tell me your story. Tell me your story!

Derek: I'm not going to warn you again, Slater.

Zach: What are you warning me for? Stop warning me! You want to do something, do it! You want a piece of me, come on, let's go! Let's go! You heard me! Aah!

[When Zach attacks one of the guards, he gets Tasered to the floor by 50,000 volts of electricity.]

Kendall: No, don't! No, no, don't! Donít. Oh, my God. Zach? Zach?

Derek: Stay back, Kendall.

Kendall: No, no, no! Zach. Zach? Zach? What did you do to him?

Derek: Restrain him before he -- restrain him before he comes to.

Kendall: Zach --

Officer: Come on.

Kendall: Zach. Let go of me! Stop! Zach! Zach.

Sydney: How can you be so -- and what the hell is "magic baby"?

Sean: You wouldn't get it, anyway.

Sydney: You and Colby hooked up, right?

Sean: So what?

[Colby remembers having sex with Sean in the boatís wheel house.]

Sydney: So what? She could be dead, and you don't even care.

Sean: I got to go.

J.R.: Look, that guy is useless. We should hire our own team.

Krystal: It doesn't get much better than the Coast Guard, J.R. Just settle down.

[Helicopter hovers]

Adam: I want to check the breakwater. See for myself.

Krystal: Whatever you want. Ok.

J.R.: Babe, Dad wants to go up to the breakwater, see if there's any signs of Colby. I'm going to go with them.

Babe: So am I.

J.R.: Look, there's no point.

Babe: J.R., I want to be with you.

J.R.: Look, it's bad enough what's going on. You don't need to go through it.

Babe: I'm going to be going through it whether I'm with you or not.

J.R.: Babe, it's going to get bad. The rescue guy just told me that the operation shifts to recovery at noon. Dad doesn't even know yet.

Babe: My God, J.R., I'm so sorry. Tell me what I can do.

J.R.: Well, I don't need any baby-sitting. Dad's got Krystal. Why don't you go home? I'll call you if anything changes.

Babe: Guess you have it covered.

Kendall: Zach. Zach. You're bleeding. Your head's bleeding.

Zach: Get off your knees. God can't hear you now. But Lavery can. He's right over here. You believe in him.

[Shocked, Kendall gets up and walks away from Zach.]

Kendall: Get these people out of my house, Derek. You won, Ryan.

Ryan: No winners, Zach.

Zach: No? Lady's on your arm. It's only a matter of time before she's back in your bed. And I never saw it coming. Never trust a guy who's in love with your wife. Isn't that right, Kendall?

Kendall: Get me out of here now.

Jonathan: You put up bail really fast.

Jack: Well, Judge Williams is an old friend of mine. He owed me one. What's the sense having markers out there if you never call them in?

Jonathan: I appreciate it. I so wish that we would have waited for Ryan. I feel weird with you putting up my bond.

Jack: Your brother will get the bill, believe me. Jonathan, now that you're out, there's something I'd like you to do. I'd like you to go and see Lily.

Jonathan: Jack, no. Come on, I -- I don't think that she's ready --

Jack: She -- she is totally unresponsive. She has gone so deep that nobody can get through to her. Please go try to get her back. Try to get her back to us.

[As Michael Bublť sings ďHome,Ē Kendall cries on Ryanís shoulder, Zach gently touches Dixieís hand when she places it on his shoulder, J.R., Adam, and Krystal despair over Colbyís fate, and Babe seeks comfort in Joshís hug. Meanwhile, Sean hobbles on his crutches toward the Yacht Club then sits down and cries, Colby seeks refuge in the mansionís secret tunnel, and at the hospital, Amanda watches over Lily when Jonathan walks in.]

Josh: I can't stop loving you, Babe.

Annie: Thanks for sharing.

Kendall: I can't share Ryan.

Jack: Your brother trusts me enough to represent him. I need you to trust me, too.

Ryan: Better not screw this up, Jackson.

Jonathan (to Lily): Please hold on to me.
