[As music plays, Zach gently holds Spike in Kendall’s apartment.]

Singer: ¯Hold me she told me won't you take me along with you?¯

Zach: All right. Well, first, there's Beauty.

Singer: ¯Kiss me¯

Zach: What a knockout she is. Incredible eyes, gorgeous curls. A smile that could knock your socks off.

Singer: ¯You need me¯

Zach: And then there's the beast. Personally, I think he got a bit of a bad rap because of his hair, but, you know, that's the way it is.

Singer: ¯Don't ever say¯

Kendall: What are you doing here?

Singer: ¯Good-bye¯

Zach: Hanging out with Spike.

Singer: ¯It's only me¯

Kendall: Why?

Zach: Because I love him.

[Music ends]

Dixie: Oh, hi, I'm Dixie Martin. I got a message from Zach to come down here.

Man: We have orders from Mr. Slater.

Dixie: Oh, ok. Where is he?

Man: Your bags are being packed upstairs. There's a car outside.

Second man: You're leaving Pine Valley within the hour.

Tad: You look like you're about to explode.

Jamie: I'm leaving.

Tad: You just got here.

Jamie: No, this town. This situation. This whole scene. I hate that you're testifying against Dixie. I don't want to watch her go down. I don't want to watch J.R. get hurt again. There's not a damn thing I can do to stop it, right? Then I'm gone.

Sydney: Where's our party?

Adam: Colby -- Colby, Colby, wait, wait, wait. We'll find out what happened. They assured me that this club would be ready. And it will be.

Colby: It's too late! Just let me jump off the dock. Let me die. My life is over!

Sean: I knew we'd be way early. The doors aren't even open yet. Now we have to wait here till the party starts. Why were you in such a rush, anyway?

[Crashing noise]

Jonathan: What's the latest on Terry?

Ryan: Oh, take it easy.

Jonathan: Take it easy? Don't tell me to take it easy. Please, Ryan, where is he?

Ryan: I just talked to Aidan in Ireland. Terry is still there. He hasn't taken the bait. He hasn't even made a move to go after his daughter, so just calm down.

Jonathan: Calm down? Knowing that pervert could take the bait any minute, and the bait could be Lily?

Ryan: Terry can't get anywhere near Lily.

Jonathan: You can't guarantee that.

Lily: I'm ok now.

Sean: You sure you're up for a party, Lily? It's going to be loud. Louder than that waiter's dropped tray, all night.

Lily: Well, it's ok. I won't be staying that long, anyway. Oh -- I'll be right back, Sean.

[Lily gets a text message from her Internet friend.]

Terry's voice: "I'm at the tree. I'm waiting 4 U, Lily."

Lily: "I'm waiting 4 U, Lily."

Colby: I'm finished. Done. This is a complete joke. You know, the whole point of this party was to make friends. Who's going to want to be friends with such a loser?

J.R.: You know, when my daughter's 16 years old, I'm going to take a long vacation.

Man: Sir, I'm terribly sorry. We are running behind schedule, because the truck bringing all of the party supplies broke down.

Colby: Huh! Is this my ice sculpture? It's supposed to be solid, not liquid. Why is it sitting out here?

Man: It -- it must have been delivered while I was on the phone with the truck driver. Obviously, my staff neglected to put it in the freezer.

Colby: Ok -- please tell me at least my hunk squad is here.

Krystal: Muscle costs money. And those hunks must charge by the pound, because they are way out of our budget. And besides, I think it's a little bit too much bulge for a bunch of teeny boppers.

Colby: Who's going to carry me in?

Krystal: Why, I thought one of those nice boys that you invited would be delighted to hoist the belle of the ball.

Colby: Yeah, you did this to humiliate me, right, Krystal?

Adam: We're -- we're going to talk, in private.

Colby: I can't believe this. I am going to be laughed out of Pine Valley. You know what? You're jealous of me? You want my life? Take it. This party is yours.

Jamie: I'm only going to ask this once. Did you really see Dixie and Zach with Madden’s body?

Tad: Yes. I saw them. And it kills me to think that that would make you want to leave. But if you decide that's what you have to do, I'll understand.

Jamie: Do you think I want to? I don't want to turn my back on Dixie and J.R. I don't want to turn my back on you.

Tad: James, do me a favor. Let's get out of here. Let me buy you dinner, my treat. Please.

Ryan: Terry has got around-the-clock surveillance. He makes one move -- one -- and we take him down.

Jonathan: Aidan or his pals could have turned away for one second. One second, and then Terry's gone. If Terry's gone, an innocent --

Ryan: You miss her.

Jonathan: Yeah, Ryan, I miss her. I miss her like hell, but she's -- she's shut me out completely, so I -- the woman that I love could be hurt very badly, and I can't do anything about it. Do you have any idea what that's like?

Ryan: Yeah, I do. I do. I know exactly what it's like.

Kendall: Of course, you love Spike. What's not to love?

Zach: I love his mom, too.

Kendall: I know that, Zach. What I don't know is how to deal with the fact that you lied to me again.

Zach: I didn't lie to you. I didn't bury Madden.

Kendall: That's very interesting, because I went to Tad and demanded for him to tell me the truth, and he said that he saw you and Dixie with Madden’s body the night that he disappeared.

Zach: Because Tad is a vengeful bastard. Excuse me.

[Spike fusses]

Kendall: Shh, shh, shh, shh.

Zach: He wants Dixie to pay.

Kendall: You know, I looked Tad right in his eyes, and I didn't see vengeance, I didn't see anger, I saw hurt.

Zach: You're taking his word over mine?

Kendall: Yes, I am.

Ryan: We are going to do everything that we can do -- absolutely everything to make sure Terry does not hurt Lily ever again.

Jonathan: That is not enough for me, Ryan. All right? We're dealing with a -- a determined sick pervert, a pedophile. Stop playing this game, provoking Terry and trying to lure him back to Pine Valley.

Ryan: You agree that Terry has to pay for what he's done to Lily and all of the other innocent young girls, right? You agree to that. He's not going to stop, Jonathan. He's not going to stop, and he's not going to pay. He's not -- not until he's caught.

Sean: Who's that from?

Lily: I'm being followed.

Man: We're here for the young lady's protection.

Lily: No, I'm not young. I'm an adult. I've seen you outside my dad's house, and I know that he hired you, because he thinks I'm incompetent, but I'm not. So please go away now.

Bodyguard: We've been instructed to stay with you until you return home this evening.

Lily: No!

Sean: Dude, give her some space, ok?

Sean: Lily, let's play a game, ok? Ok, think of a famous actress you really like. One that makes huge movies, tons of fans --

Lily: Well, you measure fans numerically, not by weight.

Sean: Millions of fans. Ok? And who goes where the actress goes? Private security team. They go with her to -- to restaurants, clubs, parties. You're so cool, you're getting the star treatment.

Lily: So you don't think I'm incompetent?

Sean: No, that would be our parents. Ok, they -- they get to rule because they're older, not because they know better. Ok? They -- they end up making massive mistakes, and then they wonder why little -- little Jimmy has a skull tattoo, pierced tongue, and listens to Death Metal.

Lily: But who's Jimmy? And how can metal die?

Sean: Ok, I -- I promise you'll have a good time tonight, Lily. Stick with me. I'll make it happen.

[As techno music plays, Colby admires the beautifully-decorated Yacht Club.]

Adam: Well, is it all that you imagined?

Colby: Oh, my gosh -- it -- it's beyond.

[Colby gasps when she spots the four young hunks in skimpy bathing trunks.]

Colby: You fixed everything, Daddy! Oh!

[Babe takes a forlorn Sydney aside and hugs her.]

Babe: Hey. I promised you a stunner entrance. Prepare to stun.

Adam: Ready to celebrate?

Colby: Let's do it!

DJ: Ok, party people, show me what you got.

[Dozens of young people hold colorful drinks and gyrate to the music.]

D.J.: Oh, check this one out.

[New song plays]

DJ: This is the freshest beat, and I'm here to bring it to you.

J.R.: Have you seen Babe?

Adam: Um --

J.R.: Where have you been hiding?

Babe: I'll explain later, ok?

Jordan: Hey, everyone. I'm Jordan Pruitt.

Jordan: I made a very special trip here tonight for a very special girl. Give it up for the birthday queen, Sydney!

All: Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney! Sydney!

[As she’s preparing to be carried in by her hunks, Colby hears the chanting and loses her smile.]

Kendall: Hey, munchkin. Yeah. Yeah, look at you. You're a good boy. Good boy. Yeah, look at you.

[After placing her baby in his bassinet, Kendall removes her rings and thinks of her husband.]

Zach's voice: Always only you.

Dixie: Surprise. I'm still here. Your staff was just a little intimidating. But it's going to take more than that to get rid of me.

Zach: I did it to protect you.

Dixie: Well, I was hoping that you did it, because you know that Tad, when he testifies at the trial, is going to blow our alibi.

Zach: My men will keep you safe, take you to a safe place. I have an account set up in your name.

Dixie: I'm not abandoning you.

[Everyone cheers as Jordan begins singing her tune, "Outside Looking In."]

Jordan: ¯You don't know my name
You don't know anything about me
I try to play nice
I want to be in your game
The things that you say
You may think I never hear about them
But word travels fast
I'm telling you to your face
I'm standing here behind your back

You don't know how it feels
To be outside the crowd
You don't know what it's like
To be left out
And you don't know how it feels
To be your own best friend on the outside looking in

If you could read my mind
You might see more of me that meets the eye
And you've been all wrong
Not who you think I am
You've never given me a chance

You don't know how it feels
To be outside the crowd
You don't know what it's like
To be left out
And you don't know how it feels
To be your own best friend on the outside looking in

Well, I'm tired of staying at home
I'm bored and alone
I'm sick of wasting all my time

You don't know how it feels
To be outside the crowd
You don't know what it's like
To be left out
And you don't know how it feels
To be your own best friend on the outside looking in

You don't know how it feels
To be outside the crowd
You don't know what it's like
To be left out
And you don't know how it feels
To be your own best friend on the outside looking in

[Everyone enjoys the song except Colby who’s not happy that Sydney is stealing her spotlight.]

Jordan: Before I take off, put your hands together one more time for my girl, Sydney!

Sydney: Oh, my God. Was that amazing, or what?

Sean: Pretty cool.

Sydney: And it's only going to get cooler.

[Music plays]

Babe: Hey.

Jordan: Hi!

Babe: You were amazing -- I have chills -- and supremely cool for rearranging your schedule to be here tonight.

Jordan: I'm so psyched it worked out. Anytime you want to book me, just call my manager.

Babe: Ok.

Jordan: Who is probably going ballistic that I'm not back on the bus.

Babe: Oh. Well, thank you so much.

Jordan: Have fun tonight.

Babe: Bye, Jordan. Does she rock, or what?

J.R.: Well, Sydney seemed to think so. You brought that singer out, so she could get some quality spotlight time, too.

Babe: Well, the way I saw it, two birthday girls, two grand entrances.

J.R.: Colby's? Not so grand.

Babe: The plan wasn't for Sydney to upstage your sister. How were we supposed to know that Colby was going to jump the gun and come in early?

Colby: Just toss me overboard and go back to your barbells. No way I am going up there now.

Adam: That was -- that was just the -- the warm-up act. You're the main attraction.

Colby: The hired help just hijacked the biggest moment of my life. How did she get Jordan Pruitt? This is my party, my night. It's supposed to be all about me. You know, go away.

Adam: But the night's not over yet.

Colby: Go away!

Adam: I'll take care of this.

Colby: And you, too. Just get out of here!

[Sydney approaches Colby to comfort her.]

Colby: Prepare for your Sweet-16 nightmare.

DJ: For all you hotties out there, this one's for you.

Sean: What's up, Lily?

Lily: I'm ready to leave now, but I don't want to go home. I want to meet somebody.

Sean: Who? It's cool. You can tell me.

Lily: My new friend, that I met online -- Asperger Boy. He's in Pine Valley. And we have a plan, but I've encountered some unexpected variables.

Sean: You want me to help you ditch the guards? Sure. But you can't be gone for long. You have to come back here, so we can go home together.

Lily: Ok. And I'm really good at keeping schedules, so I'll do it.

Sean: Oh, one more thing. If I come across some unexpected variable, will you help me out?

Lily: Yeah, I promise.

Jonathan: I need to know that Lily’s safe, Ryan.

Ryan: The only way for you to know that, Jonathan, is to bring McDermott to justice. Put him behind bars, and he won't hurt anyone again.

Jonathan: You're right. You're right. We have to catch him and put him away for good. I'm going to back off. I'm going to let you take care of McDermott.

Ryan: Hey, Jonathan, just –

[Ryan grabs Jonathan’s jacket and pulls out his passport and plane ticket.]

Ryan: This doesn't say "backing off" to me.

[At the tree, Terry receives Lily’s message and makes himself comfortable.]

Lily's voice: "I'll come 2 the tree soon."

Ryan: You're not leaving Terry to me, are you, Jonathan? You're not backing off. You're going to Ireland to take care of Terry yourself.

Jonathan: I'm going to do a lot more than take care of him.

Ryan: You're going to kill him?

[Music plays]

Singer: I control you first

J.R.: I wish I would've known you when you were 16.

Babe: Oh, no, you don't. I was a wild child.

J.R.: I would've been wild right along with you.

Babe: Yeah, right!

J.R.: What, you --

Babe: Oh, my gosh.

J.R.: You don't think that I could've been wild, we could've been wild together? Is that -- is that it?

Babe: I know, we could.

Singers: You are the one the only one

Sean: Smile. It's a party.

Bodyguard: Where's Lily?

Sean: Chill. It got a little loud for her, so she went out to take a break.

Singers: The only one you are the one

Sean: She's fine.

[Colby screams]

Colby: You sneaky skank!

Sydney: You pathetic crybaby!

Colby: Oh, what's that -- that smell, huh? It must be the poor white trash!

Sydney: Colby, the only thing that reeks around here is you!

Krystal: Now, that's enough, both of you.

Lily: Where are the guards?

Sean: Looking for you in all the wrong places, so make a run for it while the coast is clear.

[Ryan tears up Jonathan’s papers and throws them away.]

Ryan: Murder, huh? That's your solution?

Jonathan: I was -- I wasn't planning on killing him.

Ryan: Oh, you weren't?

Jonathan: No, no --

Ryan: Oh, that's cool. So you were just going to fly over there and maybe, like, beat him senseless or something, break his face? Well, I'm not cool with that --

Jonathan: You know what? I'm not cool with sitting around here doing nothing about this!

Ryan: You know what? All the vigilantes around here, I'm just -- I'm sick of it. You know, you got a problem, and then you kill it. Is that what we do? I'm going to let you do that.

Jonathan: No, I -- I need to do this, and you're not going to stop me.

Ryan: You know what? I am going to stop you, Jonathan, I am, because do you remember -- do you remember when you told me that you were born to have my back? Well, that works both ways. Now I have your back, and I'm not going to let you do this, not after everything that we've been through. You -- you have a second chance here, you have your life back.

Jonathan: "Life"? I -- I have a life back, huh? I don't have a life without Lily, Ryan.

Ryan: Just -- just give it a chance. Things -- things can change.

Jonathan: Nothing is changing. I know that, ok? I lost her forever. I just -- I can't forget the look in her eyes when I told her that I was faking it, and that I wasn't like her anymore. That was it. You know, the -- the love, that light in her eyes was -- it was gone. Listen, I know it's over, and all I want now is to make sure that Lily is happy and that she's safe.

Lily's voice: "I'm on the bus. Will B at tree in about 21 minutes."

Terry: I feel safe now.

Ryan: Lily is safe, Jonathan, she's safe. But she won't be happy if you kill somebody, and you end up behind bars for the rest of your life. You can't do it, you can't commit murder, ok? I need you to swear to me, man. Swear to me that you won't go to Ireland, and you won't go after Terry.

Jonathan: I'll swear to you, if you swear to me that Lily is going to be safe.

Ryan: Done.

Jonathan: Done.

Dixie: I don't need you to save me.

Zach: I don't need you to stay. Please go with them.

Dixie: I am the reason that you're charged. I am the one that dragged you into this. I'm not going to walk out on you.

Zach: Well, you can. I'm going to be fine. Please.

Dixie: Look, if it makes you feel any better, you're not the only reason that I'm sticking around. Derek has Tad and me backed into a corner. He's going to throw J.R. and Jamie in jail for stealing evidence if Tad doesn't testify. And even if Derek didn't have us backed up against the wall, I couldn't leave again. I can't leave J.R.

Zach: You're not going to prison.

Tad: It's an age-old dilemma -- Italian girls, French girls, German girls? Got to be careful of Latvian girls -- still something kinky. I think it's the whole communist thing. Anyway, come on. We can talk about it on the way to the airport tomorrow. There's only one thing I will ask you to do, and that is write -- or type or text or e-mail or whatever the hell you do these days. It saddens me to think there's an entire generation out there that doesn't know you used to have to lick paste to send a letter. God, I'm going to miss you so much.

Jamie: I'm not going. I can't leave you.

Tad: James, I'll be fine.

Jamie: Hey, my mind's made up. You're stuck with me. That's final.

Kendall: Then Zach just walked out.

Ryan: You, Zach -- who's right, who's wrong? I'm not -- I'm not going to do this, Kendall. I'm not choosing sides, I'm not.

Kendall: Come on, Ryan. You can have an -- an opinion. It won't kill you.

Ryan: I'll -- I'll give you my opinion. Would you like my opinion? My opinion is that I am damn grateful that Greg Madden didn't take Spike from you, and I'm also damn grateful that Zach made sure that he didn’t.

Kendall: Ok, great, so now you're defending him? You're -- you're defending the -- the compulsive liar and alleged murderer?

Ryan: No.

Kendall: Good.

Ryan: But I'm also not trashing him, Kendall. I'm just saying that Spike is here. That's my point -- he's here with us, and we have Zach to thank for that.

Kendall: Ok, well, according to Tad, Greg got stuffed in that casket and left to die by Zach and his special little friend, Dixie -- can't forget her.

Ryan: I'm not doing this.

Kendall: Ryan, you found the CD in our closet, ok? You found it, and -- and Zach even admitted he said it was his, but he wouldn't tell me anything else about it. He just kept saying, "I didn't kill Madden." Now, someone is lying, and someone's telling the truth, and I think that Tad is on the level. So, what the hell am I supposed to do with that?

Ryan: I don't know. That's your call. That's not my call.

Kendall: Fine. Ok, fine. So then -- heads, my husband is guilty -- tails, he's not.

Ryan: You know what? I came to say good night to my beautiful little boy, and now I'm going to say good night to you. Good night.

Kendall: Don't leave.

Amanda: Hey. It's your night off.

Jonathan: Yeah. I just -- I just want to work. I don't want to talk, I don't want to think.

Amanda: About Lily?

Singer: So let me get this straight. Say now you loved me all along? What made you hesitate to tell me

Sean: Look, you're the bodyguards. Lily said she needed to go take a breather. I didn't ask her where. I didn't ask her to draw me a map.

Bodyguard: Yeah, well, we searched the property.

Sean: Well, I guess she took off.

Adam: I'm quite sure that Colby will appreciate the gift that just arrived.

J.R.: If not, it's time to put her on some medication.

Babe: Hey, hey -- are you ok? Colby -- she came on a little strong.

Sydney: Colby, "strong"? She's a total psycho.

Krystal: You listen to me, and you listen good. You are embarrassing yourself. Pitching a fit every time you don't get your way, kicking and screaming and carrying on? You go after that poor girl like a hellcat on wheels. You'd be lucky to celebrate 17 with a -- with a cone hat and a cupcake if you keep that up. I mean, your -- your sense of entitlement is just off the charts, and -- and your level of respect that you show -- just nonexistent.

Singer: But thoughts may change, and times they rearrange, I don't know who you are anymore

Colby: I just want to matter. I just want to make friends. That's all I care about.

Singer: I'm not who you

[Phone chimes]

Singer: Recall anymore

Krystal: Colby, what is wrong with you? Give me that.

Singer: So much more than I remember can't help but entertain

Krystal: Look, you have a text message.

Singer: Thoughts of us together

Krystal: Read it. Go on.

Singers: Could've been lovers, but at least you're still my day-late friend

Colby: "Girl, there's something about me that you oughta know. I've never felt the need to lose control. Always held back and played it slow --"

Sydney: Whoa.

Colby: "But not this time"!

[Colby gasps]

Colby: Oh, my gosh, he's here! He's here! He's here! He's here!

Krystal: Oh.

Singer: Whoa-oh-oh-oh my day-late friend

Singers: We are who we were then could've been lovers but at least you're still my day-late

D.J.: Colby, your special birthday surprise has arrived.

[Everyone cheers and applauds as Colby hugs her dad.]

DJ: Everybody, give it up for Jesse McCartney!

Jesse: Happy birthday, Colby.

Colby: Thank you.

Jesse: Yeah.

[Colby giggles as the crowd cheers wildly.]

Kendall: Isn't he beautiful? He's like a perfect little angel.

Ryan: Here.

[Kendall sighs]

Kendall: Thank you.

Ryan: To our beautiful little boy.

Kendall: Hmm -- I'll drink to that.

[While Tad naps on his sofa, Zach stealthily enters the dark room and stares at him.]

Jonathan: I've gone over these numbers here, like, a thousand times, and I still can't get them to add up. I can't do this. I -- I can't -- I can't do this stuff without Lily. You know, thanks to me, she's -- uh -- you know, she's never going to be around again.

[Amanda comforts Jonathan with a passionate kiss.]

Ryan: How? How -- how could you lose her?

Bodyguard: Miss Montgomery took off into a crowd at this party.

Ryan: Do you know what time she left? Do you have any idea where she went?

Bodyguard: Uh -- no, sir. I'm afraid we don’t.

Ryan: I got to go, ok? It's important. I'm sorry.

Kendall: Go. Go, Ryan, go. They need you.

[Ryan sighs]

Ryan: You are important, too. I just --

Lily: Asperger Boy? Where are you?

Terry: [Disguised voice] I'm here, Lily.

>> Next week on "All My Children" --

[As a gunshot rings out, Ryan grabs his shoulder, leans against the wall, and slowly slides to the floor.]

Ryan: Oh.

[Tad stands behind Derek while Zach faces them.]

Derek: Cuff him.

Officer: Which one?

Derek: The guilty one.

J.R.: Jesse McCartney, ladies and gentlemen!

Jesse (sings to Colby): ¯You got me right where you want me¯
