All My Children Transcript Monday 8/21/06
Proofread by Gisele
Ryan: Erica. I've been expecting you.
Erica: But you just -- you just seem so involved with your new friend.
Ryan: Hey, you know what? There's a -- there's a new playground at the Memorial Park. Why don't you take Emma, go check it out, and ask Dennis to go along. You'll be safe. It'll be all right.
Annie: Well, let's see if it rates the Emma seal of approval. My daughter has very high standards when it comes to swing sets.
Erica: Oh, you have a daughter. I have two daughters. And thank heavens that Ryan looks out for my daughter who lives here in Pine Valley. Well, of course, why wouldn't he? My daughter Kendall is the mother of Ryan’s son.
Josh: Ok, pull the magenta down to this bullet here.
Babe: But our product name's that color.
Josh: Babe, you want the customer's eye to travel around the entire ad.
Babe: Yeah, but won't that be overkill?
Josh: From this corner to your model's very sexy lips to this corner. Trust me, it works. Have I ever lied to you?
Babe: Uh, you want the list?
Josh: Just do it my way. You won't be sorry. Why don't you turn around and go back the same way you came in?
Jeff: Not until you hear what I have to say.
J.R.: Yeah, can you check and see if Josh Madden is still registered? Yeah, sure, I'll hold.
David: Why the big act, Junior? Why'd you pretend to care about Dixie?
J.R.: I do.
David: If you give a damn about your mother, you'll get her the hell away from Zach Slater.
Dixie: So do you think Derek might drop the charges now?
Zach: I don't know. Derek's not an idiot, but his opinion of me is pretty low, and I think eventually he's going to think that I had an affair.
Dixie: Well, what if this alibi doesn't work, and we go to trial? How long do you think Kendall can put up with this?
David: Of course, it's possible you're not man enough to deal with it. Are you afraid to take on Slater?
J.R.: You're missing the big picture here. If Slater’s with my mother, she can't be with you -- big point in his favor.
David: It's either one or the other, Junior. Either you don't care about her or you're afraid of him. Which is it?
J.R.: What's it like, David, having a daughter who hates your guts? I mean, her mother had to be drunk just to sleep with you that night. You had a wife who couldn't get away from you fast enough -- ditto my mother. Nobody wants anything to do with you. You're useless, so why don't you move someplace else, find other people to alienate.
David: "Useless," huh? And what if I know where your little sister is? You know, Kate -- the baby Dixie gave away?
Zach: Hey. As soon as this is over, we'll find Kate.
Dixie: I keep thinking if I look hard enough, I'll just feel the connection and know which one is Kate.
Jeff: Josh, we're all confused by this -- you, your mother, myself. I disappointed you.
Josh: How could you disappoint me when I don't care?
Jeff: Well, because I -- I didn't deal with finding out you're my son in the way you would've wanted. But don't let that derail you.
Josh: It won’t.
Jeff: Josh, you had a brilliant career in medicine ahead of you. I recognize talent -- that's why I wanted you in my program, not because you were my son. Don't throw away your gifts. You don't have to be part of my program. You can go in a -- in a different direction if you want. I'll understand.
Josh: Well, that is such a relief.
Jeff: Come back to the hospital.
Josh: Not if my arms were ripped off, and the hospital was the only one on the planet.
Jeff: My father and I, we've talked about this, and we agreed we'll back off. You'll -- you'll rarely even see us.
Josh: Well, I'm already at work, and you're in my way.
Jeff: Josh? Josh!
Babe: Nice job -- if you want to push him away.
Jeff: Excuse me?
Babe: Josh already had a father who was obsessed with his son's fabulous career in medicine.
Jeff: I'm not Greg Madden.
Babe: True, but you're also trying to push him into your life when he already has a life of his own. Look, why don't you just buy him a beer or something, get him talking over a game of darts or go bowling or golfing? Anything, but you need to drop this whole medical thing or you can kiss your son good-bye.
Jeff: My God. You're right.
Erica: You really must get to know my daughter Kendall.
Annie: Oh, we've met. She seems very nice.
Erica: "Nice." Yes, yes, but she's just so much more.
Annie: Oh, I'm -- I'm sure you're very proud. All right, Emma, let's go check out that park.
Ryan: Ok, have fun.
Annie: See you later.
Ryan: See you.
Erica: Ryan? Do you love Kendall?
Ryan: I know why you're here, Erica.
Erica: Do you love her?
Ryan: Yes, I do.
Erica: Good. So do I, only I can't help her right now, but you can.
Erica: Zach -- yes, and that tramp Dixie. You know, the night that Jack and I ran into them on the road -- I mean, literally ran into them -- I knew there was something more to their relationship, and I knew that I should've run right then and there to Kendall and warned her that her marriage was in trouble.
Ryan: She probably wouldn't have listened.
Erica: No, of course not, because she's been in denial about the real Zach, the lying cheat that she married. I mean, I just saw him in bed with Dixie. Kendall is being humiliated on -- on every tabloid show there is. I mean, it is too much.
Ryan: She's holding up ok. She really is.
Erica: Ryan, she needs your help. Ryan, make your move now. Just take Kendall away from that man.
Zach: I don't want to discourage you.
Dixie: No, you're not.
Zach: But we --
Dixie: Looking through these keeps me going. And I'm not going to stop until I find her.
Zach: My people are going to run down every employee that Madden ever had. You know something, we'll -- we'll find her. Ok?
Dixie: Ok. Thank you.
J.R.: Who do you think you're playing?
David: I have solid information on little sis.
J.R.: Why don't you bluff somewhere else, you loser? I'm busy.
David: Fine. You're only making the biggest mistake of your life.
J.R.: Yeah, so are you! You know, my mother was desperate enough to believe you once, but not me, so why don't you get the hell out of here? The state, the country -- just go.
David: If I leave and I take this information with me, your mother will never forgive you.
J.R.: I'll risk it.
David: Even if I can put Kate back in your mother's arms?
J.R.: Why don't you call her up, make her the offer? I'm sure she could use a good laugh.
David: Well, you're in no position to laugh, Junior. Your people came up with absolutely nothing.
J.R.: That's not true -- we have leads.
David: Oh, yeah, right. Talk about bluffing.
J.R.: My mom and Zach Slater flew to Madden’s island.
David: Fine. Did they bring back Kate?
J.R.: Oh, they got all sorts of stuff. They got plenty there and other places. In fact, my mother's on a whole new lead right now.
David: Oh, of course she is, a whole new new lead. What? What is this new so-called lead?
J.R.: Why do you care -- I mean, if you already know where Kate is?
Kendall: What were you doing in her bed?
Zach: Don't let Erica tell you what to watch. Find a show you like. Ok?
Kendall: Well, what do you expect from my mother? She has no idea that your little affair with Dixie is an act.
Zach: Outraged mother-in-law makes it look authentic.
Kendall: Ok. My mother saw you and Dixie in bed together, so according to her, it makes everything that she's ever said about you true.
Zach: That show was for Derek’s sake. I knew he was coming up. I didn't know your mom was going to be there, as well.
Kendall: Oh, this sucks. This is so much harder than I thought it would be.
Zach: You know I love you, right?
Kendall: Yeah, yeah, I know that, but it'd be a lot easier to remember when you're not rolling around in the bed with Dixie.
Zach: There was no rolling. I didn't roll with her.
Kendall: That's what it looked like to me.
Zach: No rolling.
Kendall: Fine. Well, she was having a lot of fun. She's having a hell of a lot more fun than I am. I mean, what -- she gets the fun and what do I get? I get tons of frustration and a really annoying mother.
Zach: All right, all right, but the end result's worth it.
Kendall: Ok, so when do we get to do the last scene? You, the deceptive, awful husband and me, the forgiving wife?
Zach: As soon as Derek believes that I was with Dixie the night that Madden was buried.
Zach: Ok. When this is all over, then we'll --
Kendall: I said ok.
Zach: Ok, you said ok.
Kendall: Ok. I said ok. I'm not happy with it. I don't -- I don't like it, but I will go along with it.
Zach: And behind closed doors, we're still just us.
Kendall: You better find a way to convince Derek -- fast.
Kendall: Mm-hmm. Fast.
J.R.: My mother and Zach click? It's her choice, her business. You've got nothing to offer her. Zach Slater, on the other hand, delivers the goods. He's on the level. In fact, he came up with some very juicy information owned by Madden. And now my mother has it all, and when she's finished connecting the dots, we're going to have a map that's going to lead right to Kate.
David: That's if Dixie can stay out of prison long enough to get the job done.
J.R.: You're just worried my mom and Slater are going to find my sister without you. They will, and then my mother won't even need you. Your last connection to humanity gone. No one will need you or want to be anywhere near you. You might as well just not exist. Down for the count, and I never even had to use my fists. Tell me I'm not good.
Babe: Take it or leave it -- that's all the advice I'll give.
Jeff: Oh, well, no. Don't -- don't cut me off now.
Babe: I think you can handle it from here.
Jeff: Oh, yeah. I mean, I've -- I've been doing so well up till now. Look, I -- I hardly know Josh. I mean, outside the hospital, we've had almost no interaction. You're close to him.
Babe: We're not that close.
Jeff: Well, he seems to care about you. You were stranded with him when all of this came out. He's opened up to you, hasn't he?
Babe: Some, but in confidence.
Jeff: Well, I'm not asking you to share his secrets.
Babe: Good, because Josh is a very private guy.
Jeff: Well, I know that and I'm not -- well, I don't want you to betray him. He's had enough disappointments in that area. Look, I've -- I've never been a father. I never expected to be one.
Babe: Well, congratulations. You're now the proud father of a ticked-off, fully grown man.
Jeff: Yeah, exactly. I think I need a crash course in parenting.
Babe: Look, I'm a parent, but I am no way qualified to deal with this.
Jeff: Well, who is? I mean, well, at least you know who Josh is. I mean, all I want to do is -- I just don't want things to be worse for him after all of this.
Babe: Too little, too late, don't you think? I mean, between what Greg Madden did and Erica and you, it's -- it's a miracle that Josh can even walk and talk.
Jeff: But all I want to do is make his life better.
Babe: Then don't come off like having an "MD" after your name is the ultimate. There's no way Josh will put up with another Greg Madden.
Jeff: Babe, please, just tell me what you know about my son, please. Just help me understand who he is.
Ryan: Erica, you know how I feel about Kendall. You know.
Erica: Yes, I've heard the words, but now show me some action. I mean, step in there and take over. Zach's shown his true colors to the entire nation thanks to that televised kiss.
Ryan: Right now, Kendall is upset. She is. But there's a chance -- I mean, there's a chance that she'll forgive Zach.
Erica: Oh, please don't even say that. Don't even think that. Don't put that energy out there. Ryan, you have to step in before it's too late.
Ryan: What, you want me to just rush in there before Kendall has a chance to recover?
Erica: Look, Zach is only going to hurt her again and again. You -- you can protect her from any more pain.
Ryan: No, no, it's just not right. I mean, it's just a little jerk. A jerk pressures a woman who's obviously on the rebound.
Erica: Ryan, you are anything but a jerk. I mean, you could make it possible for Kendall to hold her head up high again.
Ryan: It's not fair. It's not right.
Erica: Why don't you take your son and the mother of your son on a trip, to Paris. Get her out of the line of this tabloid fire. Please, go and visit Bianca.
Ryan: That sounds like a great idea. I would love to do that -- maybe in a couple of months. Spike's -- he's just too little to travel that far, and I'm not comfortable, both of them being that far away from the doctors. I mean, Paris, it's -- Erica, Kendall and I will spend time together, and if she wants to step that up, I'm right across the courtyard.
Erica: And I'm dumbfounded. I am. I mean, if you step back and wait, either Zach is going to weasel his way back into her life or someone else will.
Ryan: And that's entirely up to her.
Erica: You wouldn't step in before, you have honored Kendall’s feelings for him. But now, Zach has betrayed Kendall. Shove him out of the picture and keep him out -- for your sake, for her sake, and for your son’s.
Ryan: Let's say that I do romance Kendall. I'm not going to, but let's just say that I do. Kendall doesn't know what she wants right now. I mean, she'd end up hating me and probably herself for getting into something she's not ready for.
Erica: How do you know she's not ready unless you try?
Ryan: Kendall and I are Spike's parents and, Erica, that's the most important thing right now, and I'm not going to jeopardize that, not for anything.
Kendall: Hmm. Ownership has its privileges.
Dixie: Uh, Zach actually left a few minutes ago.
Kendall: Yeah, I know.
Dixie: Ok. Um -- I don't think that you and I should be seen together.
Kendall: Well, only in public.
Dixie: Well, what if somebody walked by and saw you come in here?
Kendall: Well, well, well, they'd think that I would be confronting the tramp who's after my husband.
Dixie: What do you want?
Kendall: I want your take on the affair. Is it good for you?
Dixie: It's manageable if I want to stay out of prison. You know, it's funny, I -- I almost passed out when you walked in here with that TV crew and hit me.
Kendall: Oh, that -- that was good, right? I thought that was good -- made it seem real, right?
Dixie: Yeah, it was very real. Derek was actually here, but I -- I don't think that he's buying it.
Kendall: Well, neither am I, because you are obviously working like hell to make this affair with Zach the real thing.
Dixie: Hey, look, this whole alibi thing wasn't my idea.
Kendall: Just your fantasy.
Dixie: You got a problem, talk to your husband, ok?
Kendall: Why don't you keep that in mind, then? My husband.
Dixie: Wasn't this whole thing partly your idea?
Kendall: Why don't you just stop playing the part, Dixie? It's not healthy for you.
Dixie: Where is this coming from? Did Zach say something?
Kendall: No, he didn't have to. Why don't you play the part in public, not in private? Yeah, yeah -- I saw the way you were looking at Zach when he walked out of here. That "please, Zach -- please don't go. I want more, Zach."
Dixie: What do you mean, you saw? You were, like, standing in the hall?
Kendall: What, like peeping through a keyhole? No. No, actually, I have the best seat in the house. In Zach’s office at my very own private little monitor.
Dixie: What are you saying? There's a camera in here?
Kendall: Yeah, well, you can never have too many cameras in a casino. I mean, you would honestly be surprised what people try to get away with.
Dixie: Unbelievable. You know, spy like a kinky freak all you want. There's nothing going on.
Kendall: Ok, see, ever since you went to Europe, you have proved that you cannot be trusted.
Dixie: Why don't you just trust your husband? Don't you realize what you're doing is just pushing him away?
Kendall: Oh, you wish.
Dixie: Lots of women are attracted to Zach. As long as it's unrequited, why should you care? Unless, of course, you think Zach’s attracted to me.
Zach: Give me some good news.
Livia: It's great weather. They're not going to drop the charges against you.
Zach: So upstanding clerks in seedy motel rooms don't hold any weight any more, huh?
Livia: The DA has to go forward with this case. Between the fingerprints and the blood, they'd have a hard time proving that anyone did this but you. And besides, that evidence would undermine the case against any other possible defendant.
Zach: So it's their evidence against our alibi.
Livia: And they are spending a lot of time and a lot of work to find any slip -- any discrepancy, any chance that you bought, traded for old gambling debts. So tell me, Zach, any chance they'll find something?
Krystal: Well, your self-restraint is inspiring.
J.R.: And my success?
Krystal: Real impressive. You proved that your mouth is mightier than the sword. And Hayward’s ego. Why aren't you at work? Did you know he was coming over?
J.R.: I stuck around to talk to you about Babe.
Krystal: Is there a problem? She's not still mad at you for playing Greg Madden’s coffin CD, is she?
J.R.: No, we stay off that subject. She's not as bent as she was.
Krystal: Well, you expected that.
J.R.: She's closer to Josh than ever.
Krystal: J.R., Babe loves you.
J.R.: I know, but why hire Josh?
Krystal: Maybe she feels sorry for him.
J.R.: Her feeling sorry for Josh every day at Fusion is not good for our marriage.
Krystal: I think you read too much into this.
J.R.: I asked her to let Josh go, stay away from him, but she won’t. And he's just waiting for the right time to shut me right out of Babe’s life.
Krystal: And you're telling me this because?
J.R.: Because you can help get Babe away from Josh. You said you were behind me. You said you would help me with Babe.
Krystal: Ok, before I sign on to this mission, I want you to ask yourself one thing -- what is Josh doing for Babe that you aren't? And I want you to tell me the honest answer.
Babe: Ok, look. All I know about what makes other people tick I've learned from me, my mama, Oprah, and the judge shows. That's it.
Jeff: You like Josh. Why?
Babe: Because he's not your average, everyday SOB.
Jeff: Hmm. Oh, he's a special one?
Babe: He's even more arrogant.
Jeff: Well, that makes sense. He was raised by Greg Madden.
Babe: Um -- he's also Erica Kane’s son. I think he inherited it from her.
Jeff: Hmm. Could be.
Babe: Look, whatever it is, Josh can be difficult. And right now, he is hurt and he's confused, so he's pretty much impossible. That's how he is to hide all of his pain to show that he doesn't care that nobody wants him -- by being obnoxious and pushing everyone away.
Jeff: Yeah, but I -- I do want him.
Babe: "Him" who? Josh doesn't even know who he is. Who is it that you think that you want? Ok, look, you see, Josh knew what Greg Madden wanted in a son. And for a while, he tried to be all of that -- the best, the smartest. You name it.
Jeff: Yeah, well, Erica and I both want him just the way he is.
Babe: Ready to explode? Because that's how he feels right now.
Jeff: Well, we're not trying to impose anything on him.
Babe: Yeah, he's not going to believe it, though. He's going to think that you're faking.
Jeff: I'm not. We're not.
Babe: Josh is -- he's ambitious. And he's brave and he's brilliant, and it's a dangerous combination. He's sure he can do anything.
Jeff: Well, from what I've seen, I don't doubt that.
Babe: He also knows how to dazzle people. And he is so handsome and so talented that he's not used to people looking deeper. Like with his first father, all -- I guess that's who he is -- all he wanted was for Josh to exist and for him to be a doctor. That's it.
Jeff: Do you think Josh was happy?
Babe: I don't think so. And he never really learned to care about what went on inside other people. But he can be sweet. Sometimes.
Jeff: Sweet? Well, that's a side of him I think that I've missed.
Babe: That's because he has to really trust someone.
Jeff: Well, he trusts you. You may be the only one he does trust.
Babe: Look, I'm not going to be your way in with him. I'm Josh's friend, not yours.
Ryan: First and foremost, Spike needs his parents to love and respect each other.
Erica: So is Spike going to call Zach "Daddy"? Or is Spike going to call Zach "Uncle"? And all these women that Zach runs around with -- they're -- are they going to be his little aunties?
Ryan: Trust me, Erica, Kendall will not put up with Zach sleeping around.
Erica: I'm no longer so sure about that.
Ryan: I won't play games. And I'm not going to tell Kendall what's best for her. I won't do that anymore. I mean, if life or fate or whatever gives us another chance, then I'm going to step right up.
Erica: Are you trying to get over Kendall? Is that what this Annie is all about?
Annie: All right. The playground's this way, sweetie. Come on.
David: All right, doctor. What did you leave lying around? What is going to lead Dixie right to her daughter? Guess who I found. And she looks just like you.
Dixie: Oh, my God. Kate? You found Kate?
David: That's right. So I win.
Dixie: Well -- well, where is she? Is she safe?
David: Oh, yeah, she's safe. Safe from you.
Dixie: What are you talking about?
David: Who helped you get away from Tad and all the pressures around here so she could be born? Me. And what did get for my trouble? You cut me off, Dixie. And you had many other opportunities to fix that. But still, you treated me badly. Very badly. I know what it's like being rejected by you. And believe me, it is not pretty. But thank God, Kate is too young to remember. And I intend to make sure she never finds out.
Dixie: David, I love you. I do. I -- I always will. Please -- please believe me, I need you. You and my daughter -- you and Kate -- you're all I need in the whole world.
David: You don't know how to love. You never did. You had every chance. And now it's up to me to figure out what's best for Kate. She and I are going away.
Dixie: David, you can't. Please --
David: I already have. Kate is my daughter now. She and I are going to go someplace, start fresh. Someplace where you will never find us. But, hey, you'll always have Pine Valley.
[David wakes up on a park bench wondering what his dream meant.]
David: Jeez --
Emma: I'm sorry. I'm sorry. What's that?
Erica: So just how close are you?
Ryan: Annie is an employee.
Erica: You looked really hands-on.
Ryan: She's -- she's just having some personal trouble right now, and I doing what I can for her, that's all.
Erica: And for her daughter?
Ryan: Yes, that's right.
Erica: So you'll step up and help out strangers, but Kendall gets nothing from you?
Ryan: I will help Kendall when she asks me for help. And until she asks you for help, why don't you go knock on josh's door and see if you can help him with his life?
Erica: I am giving Josh some space. And I'm hoping that Jeff can get through to him.
Jeff: Well, I'll try and take it easy.
Babe: You'll have to, or he'll cut you off without looking back. Hmm.
Jeff: Thanks for being so honest.
Babe: Well, I want Josh to have a family, I just can't make it happen for him.
Jeff: Well, I -- I don't know what your relationship is with him, but --
Babe: Josh is my friend.
Jeff: Well, thank God you were there the night the truth came out.
Babe: That's nice to hear. I met Josh when I needed some help, and he stepped it up. So SOB or not, I like him a lot.
Jeff: So do I. Oh, I'd like to keep in touch.
Josh: So, are we all clear?
J.R.: Babe wanted me to stop drinking. I'm on the wagon. I love her. I'd never cheat on her. I'm doing everything that she asked me to do.
Krystal: So what's up with her and Josh?
J.R.: I don't know. Find out while you're pulling them apart.
Krystal: Well, Babe must be getting something out of it.
J.R.: Well, maybe she just wants some independence. Or maybe she's dishing out some payback for me playing that damn CD.
Krystal: Well, if that's all it is, what are you so afraid of?
J.R.: Josh wants Babe, and he hates me.
Krystal: But you're doing the right thing, J.R. The hands-off, respectful distance, no-pressure approach works with Babe. You push her like you did when you played that CD, and she's going to push back. Babe is going to catch on to whatever Josh is up to.
J.R.: Damn it, Krystal, he's after my wife. Look, I'm not going to just stand by and give him the field.
Krystal: Ok, look, I'll go do some recon. I'll figure out what's going on with my baby doll.
Zach: Relax. I didn't say anything to the clerk. I don't know the man.
Livia: Hmm. No phone calls? E-mails? Telepathy? No connection whatsoever?
Zach: The police are not going to find anything, because there's nothing to find.
Livia: So tell me about the evidence.
Zach: Tell you what?
Livia: Your fingerprint, Greg’s blood.
Zach: Yeah, it looks bad. Must have been planted.
Livia: By who?
Zach: Don't know. The killer or killers, maybe. Overzealous cop?
Livia: Hmm. My brother is honest. He doesn't frame people.
Zach: I didn't mention Derek. There's other cops on the police force.
Kendall: Zach is way too smart and his taste is way too good. He'd never fall for you.
Dixie: Then you have nothing to worry about.
Kendall: But you are trying to land him.
Dixie: I didn't say that.
Kendall: You don't have to. Zach's a man. And when grateful, needy women are around, then --
Dixie: I'm not needy.
Kendall: Ok, fine. Helpless, dependent -- whatever you want to call it. Very few active, healthy men can resist a half-dressed woman pawing at them.
Dixie: You know, it actually matters to me --
Kendall: You know what?
Dixie: Zach is married.
Kendall: You don't give a damn. You would do anything to get what you want.
Dixie: What I want is to find my daughter.
Kendall: Ok. Look, we all -- we're very sorry. We sympathize about your lost daughter, but you are obviously using her to get your hands on Zach.
Dixie: You know what? I think you should get out now.
Kendall: Don't be stupid, Dixie. This affair alibi is all that's standing between you and prison. Now, if you go too far, and I no longer want my husband back, I will tell everyone that your alibi is a lie and let you both do lots and lots of hard time. Don't test me.
David: You want to attack some other unsuspecting people?
David: Spill their coffee? Yes? What, are you a wise guy?
Annie: You don't have to be nasty.
David: I'm wearing my coffee. I think I'm entitled.
Annie: The ball? I'll make sure you're not in the line of fire.
Guard: Ok, move away from the child, sir.
David: "Away from --" you're kidding, right?
Guard: State your business with the -- state your business with the child, your name, and I'd appreciate a photo ID.
David: I'm Santa Claus, and the only business I would have is a cleaning bill. I'm a very generous person here.
Annie: It's all right, Dennis, we're fine. Let's go down the slide, ok? Come on.
Jeff: Erica, hi. Thanks for meeting me.
Erica: You saw him? You and Josh talked?
Jeff: I saw him.
Erica: Well, did you explain things to him? Did you make any progress?
Jeff: No, no, not exactly. But I am getting to know someone who can. Babe Chandler.
Babe: I took your advice. Magenta.
Josh: That's it?
Babe: Well, I'm still working on it.
Josh: Well, did Jeff work you?
Babe: You interested? You should have stuck around.
Josh: I'd rather commit hari-kari with paper cuts.
Babe: So then you don't want to know what we talked about?
Josh: No. Ok, what?
Babe: You want the full recap?
Josh: Just the high points.
Babe: He wants to make things work.
Josh: Well, good luck.
Babe: But he doesn't know where to start. Who would?
Josh: I don't have a clue.
Babe: You and Jeff are both new to this. How about you figure it out first, and then fill him in?
Josh: Thanks. See? What would I do without you?
Livia: So you can't explain the evidence?
Zach: I can't explain where there shouldn't be any, because we didn't do it.
Livia: So you must have been set up.
Livia: Well, the DA is going to argue that the evidence is legitimate and that your alibi is bogus.
Zach: Mm-hmm. That's why I hired a brilliant attorney, to convince them otherwise.
Livia: Well, as brilliant as I am, I wouldn't bet against the credibility of a desk clerk against solid forensic evidence. The odds are lousy. Juries are a crapshoot.
Annie: Go draw with Dennis? Huh?
Dennis: Come here.
Annie: Let's go draw in the corner, ok?
Ryan: I thought you'd be longer.
Annie: Yeah -- you know that slogan "You've got a friend in Pennsylvania"? Somebody should tell this jerk in the park.
Ryan: Somebody was bothering you?
Annie: No, it's just some guy having a bad day trying to take it out on other people. But our security force took care of him. You were right. These guys are good. I feel much better.
Ryan: I'm glad. I'm not taking any chances. None, not with you, Emma. Not with Terry set on coming back into town.
David: Kids. All girls. All about the right age. This has to be it. These photos -- one of them has to be -- that's the girl from the park.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Krystal (to Babe): You are playing with fire right now.
Babe: Josh respects me and my marriage.
Krystal: Fire him, Babe -- today.
Annie (to Ryan): Terry isn't Emma’s biological father.
J.R. (to David): You tried to impress my mother, and it backfired. And now you're a killer.
