Ryan: Just don't jump to any conclusions. That's all I'm saying. Just because they arrested Zach, it doesn't mean that they have anything on him.

Kendall: They do have something. They have Dixie.

Ryan: Ok, yeah, he's -- he's loyal to her. Doesn't mean that he's going to go out and --

Kendall: Doesn't mean what -- that he's loyal enough to help Dixie bury Greg Madden alive? He was loyal enough to fly off to Madden’s island with her. He left me in the hospital and wasn't there when I woke up. I mean, who knows what else he would do for his good friend?

Ryan: This isn't helping anybody, ok? It's not. It's not helping you, it's not --

Erica: Zach probably did help Dixie bury Greg, and it doesn't matter, because my son might be dead.

[Surf crashes]

Josh: They'll find us, Babe. They will. I don't know why you're so freaked out. Stay with me and nothing can touch you.

Babe: I'm sorry, but a nosedive into the ocean is kind of hard to forget.

Josh: Ok, so we'll hit a few bumps along the way.

Babe: "Bumps"? Are you kidding me -- "bumps"?

Josh: Look, I always turn out ok. Look at the evidence. Erica tried to throw me away, I'm still here. I crash a plane, I survive that. Fate keeps telling jokes, I keep beating her to the punch line.

Tad: Derek, be serious. You can't honestly believe that Dixie killed Greg Madden.

Derek: The evidence says so.

Tad: If you really think that, it's time to turn in your badge. Huh? The detective thing isn't working out. It's kind of painful watching you floundering around --

Adam: I don't care if he's on vacation. My son's wife is lost at sea and now they've arrested his mother. Now, you get somebody down here right away and set her free.

Derek: Thanks for your concern. I'll take it under advisement, but my "floundering," as you call it, is going quite well, thank you.

Tad: You've got nothing, nothing concrete. Admit it.

Derek: I'm not compelled to give any evidence against my suspects until their attorney has arrived.

Tad: "Their attorney" -- yes, I know. You've said so three times. Well, I'm telling you for the third time, Livia is going to say the same damn thing, ok? You're holding Zach Slater and Dixie Cooney without just cause.

Derek: If it makes you feel better to think that, so be it.

Tad: I can't believe that you think otherwise. I mean, aside from the fact that you've known Dixie for years personally, there's a gaping hole in your theory. Whoever stuck Madden in the ground has got to be the same person that recorded his last words, right? The same person that snuck that CD in J.R.'s drawer. Well, you tell me -- why on earth would Dixie be willing to frame her own son?

Dixie: I'm so sorry, Zach. You shouldn't be here.

Zach: No one forces me to do anything I don't want to do.

Dixie: Still, I -- I never should've dragged you into this nightmare.

Zach: Greg Madden went after my wife and her family. I was in this nightmare.

Dixie: Right. Well, you should be home with them and not here discussing Greg Madden with me.

Zach: I'll be there soon enough. First, we got to bust out.

Dixie: Derek insists he has evidence against us. What on earth could he have?

Dixie: I don't remember leaving anything.

Zach: We didn't do anything wrong. We didn't bury Madden, so there can't be any proof that we did.

Dixie: You think they're bugging us?

Zach: Mm-hmm. Maybe cameras, too. We're being framed.

Derek: Slater and Dixie conspired to torture Madden. Once he died, it was a whole new ball game. Suddenly, the two co-conspirators couldn't see eye to eye.

Tad: Whatever you're drinking, I hope you brought enough to share with the rest of the class, because it's turning into a long day.

Derek: Your jokes won't change the truth, Tad.

Tad: It's not the truth -- it's ridiculous. You've got a theory that's like a cat on a wet kitchen floor -- it's all over the place. I'm serious. You go through with this, I'd turn in my badge.

Derek: Well, good thing I'm not you, Tad.

Tad: There you go. You're getting this defensive this early in the game, it's all over.

Derek: You want a theory -- how about this one? Dixie wanted to torture Madden into revealing Kate’s whereabouts.

Tad: Yeah, along with two dozen other people in Pine Valley including me. So what makes Dixie so special?

Derek: It's called evidence, Tad. You'll see.

Tad: It can't possibly hold up.

Adam: No! No, that's not good enough!

Tad: It's not going to explain Dixie being willing to frame her firstborn.

Derek: That was all Slater.

Tad: Ok. Let me keep up. You're telling me that Dixie -- little Dixie -- was able to bury a full-grown man and secretly Zach was home scheming to test his earthquake starter kit?

Derek: Of course, she didn't bury him alone. Slater went all out for Dixie -- loyalty, friendship. Something more -- who knows.

Tad: Oh, touché!

Derek: Look --

Tad: Well done, well played.

Derek: The earthquake happened, everything changed. Madden was dead, Kate was still missing, but Slater had other fish to fry.

Tad: Ah. "Other fish to fry" -- terrific. Now, we've graduated from bad theories to the cliché hit parade.

Derek: Slater promised Dixie he'd get rid of the disc and, hey, maybe he even intended to do so. He could've been holding Greg Madden’s last words over a roaring fire when it hit him -- he'd much rather burn J.R., payback for putting Kendall in a coma.

Kendall: They haven't found anything since the cockpit seats?

Ryan: Is -- is there anybody that I can call? Is there anything I can do, anything at all?

Erica: You can pray. You can pray that the seat belts are a sign, Ryan. You can pray that Josh got out of the cockpit.

Kendall: Ok, well, the seat belt wasn't cut, so he had to undo it himself.

Ryan: Yeah, or -- or Babe helped him.

Kendall: Mother, Mom, Josh is smart. He's so smart. He -- he is going to find a way out of this. He's just waiting to be found, I'm sure. Ryan, tell her. Tell her Josh bailed from the plane, and he's going to be fine.

Ryan: Erica, there's -- there's hope. There really is, ok? Josh and Babe can still be found.

Josh: Will you see if there's any more sticks around?

Babe: It's called determination and hard work, Josh. No destiny about it.

Josh: What are you talking about? I'm a statistical marvel, Babe. All those years I spent studying for my medical degree were a waste of time. With any practice, I should be able to heal the sick with some sort of chant and a laying on of hands. Call me the -- the miracle man.

Babe: No. Don't do that. Don't hide behind those fast, flip words. I hate it. I am so sick of it.

Josh: You know what? So am I.

Erica: Jeff is dealing with the Coast Guard and with the FAA.

Ryan: You know what? I'm going to call a few people and see if Cambias can light a few fires, you know, get things moving a little bit.

Kendall: Ok, Mom, listen -- why don't I take you home, ok? We can have the nanny stay with Spike.

Erica: Oh, no. I can't go home. I can't go home and do nothing. I went with Jeff to see the Coast Guard. I can't go home and -- and do nothing while Josh is out there God knows where.

Kendall: Well, where's Jack?

Erica: Jack's in court. Left him a message.

Ryan: You know, hold on, hold on. Look, I can take care of everything on this end, ok? You go, go with your mom.

Kendall: Ok, listen, you know what? I'm going to stay here with her. I mean, there's nothing we can do until Josh is found, so I'll stay here. Will you please go and help Livia and just please help her get Zach out of jail?

Ryan: Done. I'll call you when I have something more, ok?

Kendall: Ok.

Ryan: Ok.

Kendall: Thanks.

Adam: You spend good money in this town buying judges, and you can't get one to skip his dinner for an arraignment.

Tad: Well, Livia’s on her way in. Let's see what she can do.

David: Pathetic, absolutely pathetic. The wannabe patriarch of the wannabe empire and the local bogus private eye. You two clowns couldn't bust Dixie out of a paper bag.

Tad: What are you doing here, Hayward?

David: A hell of a lot more than you, I'm sure. I heard at the casino what happened.

Adam: Yeah, and so you rushed right over -- lucky us. What do you think you can do that real money and connections cannot?

Tad: No, no, wait a minute. I concur. It is embarrassing. You know, I don't know about you, but I for one am incredibly ashamed.

Adam: Don't tell me you're agreeing with this idiot.

Tad: Well, he's right. I mean, here we are banging our heads against the wall, and all this time, I've been praying for Dr. Dave to swing in with his high school chemistry set and save the day, to put things to rights.

Adam: When has David Hayward ever put anything to rights? What are you going to do -- drug us all?

David: I do have other skills, Adam.

Tad: Yeah.

Adam: You rush down here to help Dixie. Don't you care at all about your daughter?

David: Somebody has to, somebody competent, at least. Leave it to you two, she's going to rot in jail.

Tad: Well, by all means. This is your hour to shine, Hayward. This is your moment. Seize the chance.

David: Hmm.

Tad: Do what you couldn't do in that motel room -- the moment you've been dreaming of for years.

David: You mean the moment that you've been afraid of for years.

Adam: Now who's pathetic?

Tad: No, no, no, no. No. Unrequited love is a dangerous thing -- it'll make a man desperate. Stand back, Adam, you'll be amazed. It's time to watch love turn the prince into a frog while David saves his damsel in distress.

Adam: "Damsel"? That's a bit of a stretch, isn't it?

Tad: No. I say Dixie fits the bill perfectly. And all you have to do is walk up to Derek and admit that you're the one that buried Greg Madden alive.

David: Brilliant. I never thought I'd say this, Tad, but you are actually making sense.

Tad: Don't waste time complimenting my brilliance. Why don't you get to it? All you got to do is add grave-digger to your immeasurable list of accomplishments.

David: No, no, no, no, no. You really should take this moment. I mean it, be proud of yourself. Thank you so much for this idea.

Adam: Well, I for one will be right behind you when you confess, Hayward.

David: I mean, no matter what Derek has, a true confession certainly will get Dixie off, right?

Tad: Anything to get her out of jail.

David: Yeah, yeah. So I'm going to put your brilliant idea right into effect, only one minor tweak, a little adjustment? A confession to Madden’s suffocation should come from Madden’s real killer -- you.

Josh: I mean, who am I kidding? Not you. Not even me.

Babe: I am just so sick of all the bull, all the "ha-ha, look how funny I am" act to pretend that you're not hurt.

Josh: Ok, fine. No more golden healing touch here. I tried that with my so-called father -- it didn't work. He died anyway, not that he deserved to live.

Babe: You loved him.

Josh: Maybe. More proof that my powers are limited.

Babe: He raised you, and he adored you.

Josh: Yeah, like some botanist making mutant plants in a greenhouse.

Babe: I know that you hate what your father did, but the man did love you, and he raised you to be a great guy, so he obviously did something right. And right now, you're grieving for him, no matter what he's done. I can't even begin to imagine the crazy feelings that you're having right now with Greg and Erica and Jeff Martin, and not to mention these two whole new families. The Martins and the Kanes? Wow. Joe and Tad and Kendall and Jamie and it's --

Josh: Ok, look, just stop, ok? Please, no more warm fuzzies or understanding or no more of those sad eyes, either, those sad eyes that say "Josh, it's so much worse than what I'm saying out loud." You give me those sad eyes, I'm going to have to revert to my original plan.

Babe: Which was?

Josh: Fire up the ego and hit on you some more, even though you just said you hated that.

Babe: I wasn't talking about you.

Josh: Are you sure? Because I'm really good at both.

Babe: Ok, maybe I was, but just a little bit, not totally all you. You know, it's -- it's like a -- it's a generic male trait. It must be part of the Y chromosome or something. It comes right after not asking for directions, the shutting down when feeling too much. I -- I -- it drives me crazy. It makes me so mad, I want to scream. Oh.

Josh: Then go ahead. Go ahead, Babe. Scream your guts out. Go on, I'll do it with you. Come on. You ready?

[Josh and Babe scream]

Erin: Why am I the one being attacked here? Is it because I broke up with you? Or is it because you got busted doing Di Henry?

Aidan: Maybe it's because I'm not saying what you want to hear.

Erin: No, you know what else you're not saying, though, is why you and Di were doing it. Because last time I checked, you don't usually get naked and freaky with a friend right after a breakup. Oh, I'm sorry -- maybe you do.

Aidan: And you make out with people that you barely know. I guess it's all part of checking out your options as you said you wanted to do.

Erin: No.

Aidan: I mean, don't you remember putting on that big kissing show in ConFusion with that guy, what -- what is his name? Justin?

Erin: His name is Jamal, Aidan, and nothing happened. It was all for show.

Aidan: "All for show." Well, that's a great performance. Bravo. What was I supposed to do -- pine over you like some stupid, pathetic idiot while you were making out with some muscle dude?

Erin: No.

Aidan: Like it was your first year at university?

Erin: I was trying to protect a woman and her child.

Aidan: Oh, come on.

Erin: I was -- I was trying to protect you.

Aidan: Right. So I was just supposed to wait around then until you decided to fill me in.

Erin: No.

Aidan: Is that it? Erin, I didn't know what you were doing. I didn't know what you were up to, because you didn't trust me enough to tell me the truth.

Erin: Wait.

Aidan: So excuse me for acting on what I saw.

Erin: Wait, wait, wait. My trust is the issue here?

Aidan: Yeah, it is. If you told me the truth about Annie in the beginning, maybe none of this would've happened.

Erin: You listen up, because I trusted you a lot more before we broke up than I do right now.

Aidan: Wow, Erin. You break up with me and then you spy on me -- that's real cool.

Erin: I was not spying on you. Get over yourself, Aidan. God.

Aidan: Well, then, how do you explain seeing Di and me, then?

Erin: I happened to be worried about you, ok? Not that it really matters now, does it?

Aidan: Why were you worried?

Erin: I heard the cops say that they found your car abandoned on a bridge, and I went to go look for you. It's funny -- yeah, really funny now. Ha. Not -- not funny, ha-ha funny, like pathetic funny.

Aidan: I can't believe your nerve. I can't believe that you are angry just because I had sex with Di.

Erin: I am not angry, Aidan.

Aidan: Well, what would you call it, then?

Erin: I'm disillusioned. I stupidly thought that you were still in love with me.

Aidan: I was.

Erin: "Was"? Huh. Thank you for clearing that up for me.

[Josh and Babe continue screaming]

[Babe laughs]

Babe and Josh: Oh.

Josh: Works for me. Was it good for you, too?

Babe: Not bad. Yeah, it would've been better if someone would've been out there to scream back. Oh.

Josh: They'll find us.

Babe: So, here's your test, Mr. Golden Child. Why don't you use your super powers and summon us up an immediate rescue? Come on. I'm waiting.

Josh: I can only summon up something I want.

Babe: You still don't want to be found?

Josh: What I want is more time here to make you stop wanting J.R. and start wanting me.

Babe: Relentless. It's obviously a family trait.

Josh: I don't have any family.

Babe: Like hell you don't.

Erica: I just can't stop seeing the look on Josh's face when he took off. He hates me. I knew he would. But he wouldn't even listen. But why should he?

Kendall: Ok. Mom, you have got to stop doing this to yourself.

Erica: What if that look on his face, that -- that terrible look -- what if -- what if it's the last one I ever see?

Kendall: It won't be. Josh will come back. Your children always do.

Erica: What's that supposed to mean?

Kendall: Well, when you put me up for adoption, did you think you'd ever see me again? Surprise -- I'm here. And now Josh is here. And you never even knew he existed. I mean, what are the odds that this son you never even knew about would move to this town? And then the odds that Josh, equally as clueless about you, would come to you asking for a job and then you actually hired him?

Erica: It was just something about him -- a certain look he had in his eyes. He was so hungry.

Kendall: Felt familiar, didn't it? Despite everything, you see yourself in Josh.

Erica: More every day.

Kendall: Well, Josh will come back. And he won't listen, and it'll get ugly. But we'll deal with it as a family. And then he'll drive you crazy making choices that you hate, just like your other kids. And it won't be easy. It never is. That's karma kitty for you.

Erica: I hate karma kitty.

Kendall: Oh.

Erica: Oh.

Kendall: Yeah.

Ryan: Is Livia here yet?

David: Let me tell you something, Martin -- if I tortured Madden, the doctor would still be alive, and Kate would be in her mother's arms by now.

Adam: Oh, shut up, Hayward. When the hell are we getting a judge?

David: I wouldn't have botched up the job.

Tad: So how would you have done it? Another spike in the arm or just a poisoned martini?

David: At least it would've been a clean, effective job.

Tad: Well, by all means. I want to hear this. How would you have taken care of it? If getting rid of Madden was such a routine procedure for you, then where is my daughter? Why didn't you take care of him for all of us?

Adam: Because you both failed. You should've called me and as a matter of fact, why don't you confess right now, so I can get the hell out of here?

Tad: Don't worry, Adam!

Adam: I have a family to take care of.

Tad: You'll be home before he has a chance to say "Libidozone."

David: Hey, after your confession, Martin, let's go.

Ryan: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa. What is this, you guys? This isn't constructive, all right? Let's just focus on the problem here, please.

Adam: Yeah, where is the evidence here? Does it even exist?

Derek: The evidence not only exists, it's solid.

Livia: I'll be the judge of that.

Tad: Thank God for the cavalry. All right, no more stalling. Why are Zach and Dixie in jail?

Ryan: Yeah, what do you got?

Derek: Fibers found in Madden’s coffin have been matched to the trunk of Dixie’s rental car.

Livia: And probably a half a dozen other rental vehicles in the fleet owned by Zach’s casino.

Ryan: Yeah. I mean, come on. Is that it?

Derek: A fingerprint was found in the inner lid of Madden’s coffin -- it's a 10-point match to Zach Slater.

Zach: Well, I hope they find Josh, for my wife's sake. And as far as J.R. goes, the next time I see --

Dixie: J.R. is dying inside.

Zach: Oh, ok.

Dixie: His wife is missing.

Zach: His wife, huh? What wife is that? The same wife he tried to kill, almost killing my wife and her unborn son in the process? That wife?

Dixie: J.R. is making changes. It's a long road.

Zach: It seems like he's off that road now. Trying to ambush Josh with that disc -- what is that?

Dixie: I may not agree with what my son did, but I understand why he did it.

Zach: You understand why he did it? What does that mean? It's ok what he did, going after Josh, trying to blow him away? Maybe he succeeded. Maybe Josh is dead by now. Do you know what I think? I think your twisted little son is going to be next.

Tad: Is that all you've got?

Adam: They're trying to frame Dixie.

David: Well, a fingerprint is one thing, but a couple of car mat fibers? That doesn't prove anything.

Ryan: It doesn't prove -- you know, they'll never be indicted on this.

David: Have you tested all the cars in Slater’s fleet?

Adam: That doesn't explain why J.R. would end up with the disc.

Livia: All of this evidence is circumstantial. I want my clients released now.

Derek: Good try, Livia. Pretty smooth. But you blinked.

Livia: This isn't the Houston Street playground, Derek, and we're not playing stare down anymore.

Derek: Really?

Livia: Your case has enough holes in it to drive that rental car through. It's called reasonable doubt.

David: All right, look, Slater is obviously guilty. A fingerprint is a fingerprint, right? But come on, Dixie? Give me a break.

Ryan: Somebody is trying to make Zach look guilty.

Tad: Your case is weak, at best.

Derek: Give us time. There's more coming.

Kendall: Can I get you something else, Mom? Maybe something to eat? Maybe a -- a little peek at my beautiful son?

[When the phone rings, both Kendall and Erica jump toward it.]

Babe: You are a Kane. Don't tell me you don't see it.

Josh: Sorry, my vision's a little off.

Babe: Your coloring is just like Erica’s. And your jaw -- Kendall and Bianca have the same thing.

Josh: Great. Why don't you line us up for a family portrait?

Babe: But the thing is it's not just the physical. Although, you could do a lot worse, obviously. You are determined. You're arrogant. You want what you want, and you'll do anything to get it. That right there is your mother. How do you think she got where she is? And the "me, me, me" -- totally Kendall, thanks in part to Erica, along with the ruthless streak. Nobody's ever going to tell those girls what to do.

Josh: Wow, you make me sound like such a charmer.

Babe: You are. You can be. Whether it's a show or not. The fire, the determination -- those are good things.

Josh: Sounds like a backhanded compliment to me. Not very enthusiastic.

Babe: I know that it's good to have a mother. And no doubt, a sister who will tear the eyes out of any fool who messes with someone they love.

Josh: Well, too bad that doesn't include me.

Babe: I think it does.

Erica: Have they heard anything about Josh?

Kendall: Ryan, have you seen him yet?

Erica: What about Derek? Does he know anything about the search?

Kendall: Wait -- what do they know?

Ryan: No, everything's fine. Everything is fine. It's totally under control. Livia's here.

Kendall: Under control? What does that mean?

Erica: Has anyone heard anything about -- about Josh, for God’s sakes?

Kendall: Hold on a second. No, Mom, I'm sorry. When is Zach going to be released?

Ryan: We're not 100% sure. Livia's working on that.

Kendall: She's working on it?

Ryan: I promise, as soon as we know more, I'll call you, ok?

Kendall: All right. Thank you. Bye. Ugh.

Erica: Zach is guilty, isn't he?

Kendall: No, Mother, Zach had nothing to do with Greg Madden’s death.

Erica: I hope you're right.

Kendall: We'll be fine. And Josh will be, too.

Erica: Look, I can't stay here. This isn't doing Josh any good. I've got to go.

Kendall: Go where? Where are you going to go?

Erica: Anywhere. I'll call you.

Kendall: Look -- ok. Mom -- Mom, wait.

Ryan: What you said to Derek about the case being weak -- was that accurate or was that a bluff?

Livia: What do you think?

Ryan: That's what I was afraid of.

Kendall: So I put Spike down about an hour ago. And when he wakes up, you know where the formula is. If you have any problems, just give me a call. You know my cell number. Thanks.

[Kendall leaves her son with the babysitter, Rachel.]

Derek: I'm sorry, but there's new forensic evidence.

Tad: You're sorry? You can't play the friendship card, Derek. This isn't some kind of joke, Fourth of July picnic.

Derek: Look, I was only doing my job, Tad. You know that.

David: Ok, all right, enough with the pleasantries. Who cares? What have you got?

Derek: A small stain found in the trunk of Dixie’s car matches Greg Madden’s blood.

Dixie: Please let me deal with J.R.

Zach: You used our friendship to give your son another shot.

Dixie: And I thank you, ok?

Zach: Mm-hmm, and you -- he used his pass to hurt my wife, again. And now it's over. J.R.’s going to pay.

Adam: Zach Slater is capable of anything. We all know he can't be trusted. But Dixie? Torture? Murder? Even for a deeply flawed woman, that marks a new low.

David: Shut up, Adam.

Kendall: Dixie Martin is a pathological liar. But my husband is an innocent man.

Ryan: All right, let's let Livia handle this.

Kendall: No, no -- if you do not release Zach right now, I will sue this police department for every cent you have, and you will have nothing left but plastic guns and bikes.

Ryan: Ok, that's great. Why don't we have a seat and --

Kendall: Ryan, stop.

David: You might want to bring the new mommy up to speed.

[Helicopter flies overhead as Erica and Jeff stare at each other on the beach.]

Josh: Tell me more about Bianca. I didn't really get a chance to talk to her when she was here. But to me, she seemed -- I don't know -- real.

Babe: Bianca -- Bianca is unlike anyone that I've ever met. She is so good and so strong. And her heart -- it's -- it's amazing how big it is. She makes you want to be a better person. And forgiveness? Bianca knows that it's not good for anyone to live with anger. Looking at Bianca -- it's like -- it's like looking in a window to a beautiful soul. And you don't want to turn away. What?

Josh: You just described yourself.

Aidan: I don't know how I feel about you anymore, Erin. I mean, you lied to me, and you pushed me away when I could have helped you, and that's exactly what I normally do.

Erin: You know what? There's no need to go on. It's -- it's perfectly understandable. Easy come, easy go. And I pushed you away. So next?

Aidan: There's nothing remotely easy about you, Erin.

Erin: No.

Aidan: And you and I --

Erin: No, no, no. No, no, of course, there's not, Aidan. I mean, it took you a good couple months to even get me into bed. Maybe you should have dated Di and saved yourself some trouble there.

Aidan: Erin, that is not what I was after, and you know it.

Erin: I'm sorry I was so difficult. But you know what? After your little soft-core action I saw, you made it really easy for me. Any doubts I had -- poof. Gone. And I'm glad I found out now.

Aidan: What doubts are you talking about? Found out what?

Erin: It seems kind of obvious now, doesn't it? Sooner or later, you would have broken my heart. Sooner is better every time.

Aidan: Erin, please. Don't go.

Erin: I don't get why -- how you can be in love with me one minute and be with someone else the next.

Aidan: I wanted to love you, Erin.

Erin: Why?

Aidan: I wanted to be with you.

Erin: Why? Did you -- did you fall out of love with me? Or did -- did you do it to get back at me? What was it?

Aidan: No.

Erin: Tell me.

Aidan: It wasn't like that. I don't -- I don't know. It's -- I didn't mean for it to happen. I mean, I didn't plan it. I just -- maybe I tried to do it because I wanted to forget. Erin, you ripped my heart out.

Erin: And you think I wasn't hurting in all this? You were my first. Aidan, you were my first everything. I want you to know that I did not just throw us away.

Aidan: That's not how it looked. That's not how it felt.

Erin: Yeah. Obviously, you were really torn up.

Aidan: Yeah, why do I feel like I'm on the defensive here?

Erin: I don't know, Aidan. Maybe you should go ask someone who knows you better, because I obviously don't know you at all.

Aidan: Yeah, maybe I should. Because you don't know me, obviously. And maybe you never will.

Jeff: Josh never got a chance to know me. Me as a father.

[Helicopter flies in the distance.]

Jeff: I had so much I wanted to say to him.

Erica: You came to Pine Valley to meet your son. And every moment you spent with him, you spent as his father.

Jeff: He didn't know that.

Erica: You will have a chance to tell him. You can tell him everything. You will have a chance to show him how much you care. And so will I.

Jeff: Does that mean --

Erica: He has to hear me. He has to listen. I want him in my life. He's my son. He's our family.

Josh: I remember when I first met you.

Babe: You helped me get Jamie’s car back from those frat boys.

Josh: You were fearless. You still are.

Babe: Maybe, but comparing me to Bianca -- no way. I have a long way to go.

Josh: You didn't blink. You proved you didn't need someone to rescue you. You needed a wing man. A partner.

Babe: And you did a great job.

Josh: You got my attention then. I -- and you've held it ever since.

Babe: Enough about me.

Josh: You know, you once said I must have come from some alien planet where no one falls in love. I said falling in love makes you lose yourself. You said it makes you complete. You were right.

Babe: I don't know where you're going with this, Josh, but --

Josh: Oh, let me just finish this. I don't know -- somewhere along the way -- I don't know how it happened -- but I managed to figure it out. Something just clicked. I fell in love with you, Babe. I'm in love for the first time in my life.

Kendall: What makes you think Dixie is innocent in all of this? She may have been a saint once, but look around -- not so much.

Adam: She has a point.

David: Your hubby is the reason why Dixie’s in this mess in the first place. Now she's in way over her head.

Kendall: Ok, you know what? Spare me the defenseless Dixie spiel. That woman knows exactly what she's doing.

David: There's no way that Dixie would be in that jail cell right now if she hadn't trusted Zach.

Ryan: Come on, Kendall, it's not worth it.

Tad: Kendall, why don't you go home? We're doing everything we can.

David: Which means absolutely nothing.

Kendall: Why are you even here, David? Do you care more about Dixie’s life than your own daughter's?

David: What are you talking about?

Kendall: Oh, stop, David, please.

David: What the hell is that supposed to mean? What about my daughter?

Kendall: I know Zach is innocent. I don't care what kind of evidence Derek claims he has.

Ryan: I'm behind you guys 100%, ok? I am. Now, let's get out of here. Spike needs his parents. Come on.

Kendall: No, you -- you go home to Spike. I'm going to stay here with Zach.

David: They haven't found Josh or Babe? Why am I only hearing this just now?

Adam: Perhaps if you'd listened to us earlier, instead of droning on about your precious Dixie --

David: Wait a minute, why didn't Krystal call me immediately?

Tad: Because you give new meaning to the words "crappy father," and you're the last thing she needs. You haven't stopped spewing since you walked in here.

David: J.R. has done it again. That worthless bastard. Let me tell you both something right now. If my daughter doesn't come back alive, I'm going to wring J.R.’s neck personally.

Dixie: Look, Zach, J.R. was just trying to protect his family with that disc. You know what that's like. Doing anything to protect the people that you love.

Zach: Doing anything to protect the people you love, huh? I didn't see any protecting.

Dixie: He played Madden’s last words to spread suspicion away from his own family.

Zach: And onto the people that Kendall cares about.

Dixie: He was trying to protect me and Tad and Jamie.

[Dixie sighs]

Dixie: I know -- a fat lot of good it did us. Or me. Oh, God. Look at the damage I've done. I never should have come back. I think everyone was better off with me dead.

[Tad and Kendall walk in on Zach comforting Dixie with a kiss on the forehead.]

<< On the next "All My Children" --

J.R. (to Jamie and Julia): How am I supposed to look at my son and tell him that his mother might never be coming home?

Josh (to Babe): There's no way out.

Babe (to Josh): You think we're going to die here?

Krystal (to Tad): Do you know who really killed Greg Madden?

Kendall (to Zach): I need the truth right now. Tell me you didn't trash our future for Dixie Martin.
