All My Children Transcript Wednesday 6/7/06

Di: You are unbelievable. Del, come on. You haven't forgotten why we're here, right?
Del: I looked away for two seconds. Is it a crime to rest my eyes?
Di: Oh, you call that rest? Your eyes were bulging out of their sockets. Del, come on. No more distractions, not until we track down Dixieís little girl.
Tad: Dixie? Dixie!
[As Tad runs into Dixieís ransacked room, she appears in the doorway.]
Tad: Oh. Thank God. I mean, thank God you're alive.
Erica: Kendall, Dixie, Julia, me. Your father has toyed with more women's heads than I care to imagine. And so far, I've been pretty good about keeping quiet about just how evil he is, but not anymore, Josh.
Josh: Erica, you've been blathering about my dad being corrupt since day one. Don't even try to act like this is new.
Erica: Yes, Josh, this is new. Josh, your father has just --
Zach: What happened?
Bianca: Oh --
Zach: Where's my wife?
Bianca: Where have you been?
Erica: It's a little late to care now, Zach. Kendall doesn't need you anymore.
Bianca: Mother? She's in the nursery, and she's ok.
Zach: Thank you.
Bianca: Well, that was just mean.
Josh: Well, "mean" is your mother's area of expertise.
Erica: I was merely telling the truth, and I just told that to Zach. Kendall has a family now. That troublemaker, Zach Slater? No place in her life for him.
Kendall: I remember you giving a very detailed description of Spike when he was still inside of me.
Ryan: He's going to get there. He will, don't worry.
Kendall: He inherited some pretty strong genes.
Ryan: Yes, he did. Kendall --
Dixie: He took it.
Tad: "He" Madden?
Dixie: Well, while Zach and I were off looking for Madden, he must've sent somebody in here to raid the room and take all the evidence that I had against him, everything that I brought back from the Regeneration Spa, all the evidence that said that Madden was an anonymous donor over a thousand times over, all the proof of what he did to Erica, everything. It's gone.
Tad: All this time, you were with Slater?
Dixie: Yes. He was trying to help me find Madden.
Tad: And then what? How were you going to make him talk after you found him? Did you or Slater have some kind of plan to get answers about Kate?
[Children laugh at the park while the camera pans to the ground underneath a flower bed.]
Greg: Buried. Buried alive.
Zach: You're alive. You're here.
Kendall: It's where I belong.
Zach: Maybe he is real. Yeah. The guy that people talk to when no one else is listening. And I don't know if I really believe in all that stuff, but you're here. What did the doctors say? Is -- is everything ok? Are you ok? Is everything fine?
Kendall: I'm fine. No, I'm fine. He looks really small, but he's a tough cookie. So, are you ready? I would like to introduce you to -- to the other love of my life.
Kendall: Come on.
Zach: Hey, little guy.
Kendall: Zach, this is Spike -- my son.
Josh: Excuse me.
Erica: No, Josh, you're not going anywhere till you tell me where your father is.
Josh: Will you get over my dad already?
Erica: Josh, your dad brought this on himself.
Josh: What do you want, Erica? You have nothing on him, so do me a favor -- leave us both alone.
Erica: Josh, your dad attacked me.
Josh: Here we go again.
Erica: Josh, I was in his office, we were arguing, and the next thing I knew, I woke up on a park bench this morning. I had been unconscious. Your dad had grabbed me by the arm and stuck a hypodermic needle in me. He drugged me. I don't want him to get off scot-free.
Jack: You have a lot of experience at that, don't you? Getting off scot-free? Well, no more. You have hurt my wife for the very last time.
Di: You're supposed to be watching the boat, not the tan lines.
Del: Ok, one two-second distraction, all right? Even with zero sleep and a shot of the doctor's knockout juice, I've taken care of every last detail.
Di: You set up the --
Del: Everything. I took care of it all. You still want to give me a hard time?
Di: I'm sorry. I'm just so -- I don't know. The whole thing makes me sick to my stomach.
Del: Yeah, well, we can't turn back now.
Dixie: God, I can't believe he found everything that I hid in here.
Tad: So, neither you nor Zach had any kind of master plan.
Dixie: I wish I had one now.
Tad: Dixie, it doesn't matter. Documents or videos or any kind of information you have that may pressure Madden with exposure -- it's not going to work anymore. It's not going to be enough.
Dixie: Why are you saying that? Are you giving up?
Tad: Of course, I'm not giving up. What I'm saying is this thing has gone too far. Whatever it's going to take to find Kate is going to have to be drastic. It's going to have to be ugly. I'm saying I will do anything I have to to find her.
Dixie: Tad, nobody can get the truth out of Madden if he's gone underground.
Greg: Help me! Hello? Oh. Hello! Oh. Can anybody hear me? Hello? I'm -- I'm trapped in here! Can anybody hear me?
[Children play in the park while a man sits on a bench, unable to hear Greg.]
Greg: Hello? Can you hear me, anyone? Hello?
Zach: Look at you -- already the center of attention. You're your mother's son -- causing so much trouble, huh? It's all worth it. So come on. Get better, get out of this thing, so we can really stir it up.
Kendall: I'm going to have my hands full with you two.
Zach: Your mommy's funny. She thinks that we don't know each other when I actually I do. I -- I know all your likes and your dislikes. Stick by her because when you need her, she's going to be in your corner.
Bianca: That's true. You can just call it the Kane women lioness instinct. We always stick by our cubs.
Kendall: I got your back, dude. Get bigger, get stronger.
Zach: You have a great son.
Ryan: Thank you.
Julia: Hey. How's it going in here?
Ryan: Hey. Well, it's going great. Um --
Ryan: Yeah, come on in. Join us.
Bianca: We have ourselves a little celebrity here.
Julia: Oh, I know. But actually, Spike's going to need a little personal time with his nurse and, Kendall, you should probably get some rest, too.
Bianca: Ok. Bye-bye, bugaloo.
Ryan: Anyhow, Spike, do me a favor and don't give Julia too hard a time, ok?
Julia: Hmm, no way. Spike and me, we're buds.
Ryan: I'll be back as soon as they say I can be. Don't miss me too much.
Kendall: Think you can hang for a few without me? Because I'm going to hate every second I'm away from you. Surprise me when I get back. Get rid of this stupid box and start raising some hell around here. Oh, yeah. By the way, don't listen to your father. If you want to give Nurse Julia a little grief, I'm cool with that.
Kendall: I'm kidding. Ok. I'll see you soon, Spikester. I love you. I love you more than I ever dreamed possible.
Greg: Microphone. You've gone to a lot of trouble. Water? Energy bars? Air supply. Surveillance camera. Is this where I'm supposed to thank you for your generosity? Well, obviously you don't want me to die. Otherwise, you wouldn't have packed a picnic. Tell me -- what do you want? What will it take to get me out of here?
Erica: No, Jack. You have it all wrong. I'm furious with Greg. It's Greg I'm really angry with. He's not here, so I have been taking it out on Josh. Would you accept my apology, Josh?
Josh: Sure -- when you're giving it from a padded cell.
Jack: Oh. Erica, why are you always defending that punk?
Erica: I wasn't defending him. He just doesn't deserve to be attacked, not this time. You got my message? That Kendall came out of her coma? Isn't it wonderful?
Jack: Yeah. It's terrific news. Sweetheart, I'm so sorry that I couldn't be with you during all that. I'm a little concerned, though. I mean, what's -- what's all this about you and Greg?
Erica: Well, I want to hear about Lily. What's the latest? Good news, I hope.
Jack: Mostly. Mostly good news. I mean, she -- she's back home. She's safe.
Erica: You found her?
Erica: That's wonderful.
Jack: Huh. You're still avoiding my question.
Erica: No, I'm not. I just don't think it's important -- I mean, not when we have our girls back.
Jack: And thank God we do. I don't know what you're hiding from me, Erica, but you're trying so hard not to tell me something. The problem is I already know so much. So, please, just, out with it? What did Greg Madden do?
Tad: Madden is nothing if not a megalomaniac. He's not going to stay underground for long.
Dixie: This is different, Tad. He's not just going to lay low for a couple of months and wait for everything to blow over. He knows that we know all of his secrets. I mean, how many people in town know that Josh is Erica Kaneís biological son, for instance? Right -- you, me, Zach, Erica.
Tad: My father, Jeff.
Dixie: Right? And how many people in town -- I think everybody -- knows that our daughter, Kate, is alive, and Madden is the only person who knows where to find her? Look, he is going to disappear completely and never come up for air.
Tad: I'm not quitting.
David: When are you going to wake up, Dixie? Martin couldn't find the sun if it spun out of the sky and landed on his head. I'm the one you should be coming to. I'm the one that's going to give you back your baby.
Ryan: Kendall did good. Huh. She did, she made an -- an incredible little boy. You're looking the wrong way. The star is right over there. That way.
Bianca: Ryan, I was watching you when Kendall introduced Spike to Zach. Spike's -- Spike's ok now. He's here. Kendall's safe, she's out of the woods. So I was kind of wondering, are you really going to be able to stand by and keep things to yourself or are you going to tell Kendall the truth? That you're in love with her?
Kendall: So, Ryan said that you never once left my side. The entire time I was in the coma, you were here.
Zach: Where the hell am I going? I've got no friends.
Kendall: Well, that's true. But when I woke up, you weren't here. So where were you?
Zach: Wow. You actually did that. You did what I told you to do. And you're never going to do that again, so let's just take a moment.
Kendall: Wait -- what? Wait, hold on. I'm lost, I'm lost now.
Zach: When I left, I asked you to wake up and to get better so you can yell at me and ask me where I was when I come back.
Kendall: Well, I don't want to yell at you, but I'm asking.
Zach: I wanted to be here. I wanted to be the first face you saw when you woke up. Well, I'm here now.
Kendall: Hmm. You're real. This is -- this is real.
Zach: Don't ever doubt that.
Kendall: There's so many things going on in my head. I know my baby is fighting for his life, and I know that I'm lucky to be alive. But I'm still not sure about some stuff.
Zach: Well, maybe I can fill you in -- on the details.
Kendall: Right. Ok. Well, I -- I recall some sort of wedding, so -- oh, are we married? We're married -- no? Yes?
Zach: Wife, mine. Wow.
Kendall: That's what I thought. Ah. Cool.
Zach: No, it's very cool.
Kendall: Mr. and Mrs. Slater.
Kendall: Forever, for good this time. So, what's with the face?
Zach: You may not want to stay married to me when you find out what I've done.
Greg: Om. Om.
Altered voice: Rise and shine, Dr. Madden.
Greg: Who are you? What do you want from me? Erica? Is that you? I don't know how you did this. You must've got someone to help you.
Altered voice: Comfortable, Doctor?
Greg: I want out of here.
Altered voice: The sooner you work with me, the sooner you'll be set free.
Greg: I demand you get me out of here.
Altered voice: The timing is up to you. Once I have Dixie Martinís daughter, you're a free man.
Greg: Tad? Oh. Tad? You honestly think you'll get away with this?
Tad: Hayward, if you don't have the good sense to get out of --
David: Who messed up your room, Dixie?
Tad: This room in 10 seconds, I swear I'm going to rip your misshapen head off your fat neck.
Dixie: Tad, would you just stop? David, please leave.
David: Is this your handiwork, detective? What happened, hmm? Couldn't find Kate stashed under the bed, Madden hidden in a sock drawer?
Tad: Take a good look around this room. Whatever I decide to do about my daughter is my business, not yours, but I'll guarantee you one thing -- if you get in my way at all, you're going to be sifting through debris looking for what's left of your teeth.
Greg: Dixie's daughter is gone, because Dixie wanted it that way. She signed on the bottom line, she signed away all or any rights to that little girl. And if you want to do what's best for that child, you'll give up this ridiculous search and leave that baby alone.
Altered voice: Name, address, phone number, zip code, to start.
David: Didn't Madden bail on Pine Valley, taking the answers to finding Kate with him, because you ran him out of town?
Tad: As usual, you're a moron, and as usual, you don't have clue one as to what's going on here.
David: I'm talking about you being a walking grenade, Tad, wiping out any evidence you come into contact with.
Dixie: Stop it! Will the two of you just stop it already.
Greg: Stop -- Tad, Zach, who I -- whoever I have to thank for this.
Altered voice: DNA. The tests have to be conclusive proof it's really Kate. Once I have proof, you can go.
Greg: Ok. Ok, I understand. Really, I do. But first, I want you to hear my side of this.
Dixie: Look, David, the minute Madden told me that he would never revoke Kateís adoption, when he said that I would never get my baby back, I should have come here.
David: That's ok, Dixie. We'll fix that --
Dixie: Not to you, David -- to Tad. For Godís sake, he's Kateís father.
David: That's what I'm trying to tell you. I can help you in ways that Tad can't.
Dixie: No, you canít. I'm sorry, David, but you canít. Look, I would really appreciate it if you would just leave, please, now. Good-bye.
David: I am going to be the one to find that baby. I will put Kate back in your arms.
Greg: You brought me here to toy with me. You don't want me to die. You've given me food and water. You're not going to kill me. You have to remember I've got a heart condition. So if I have a heart attack, you won't get any of the answers to your questions. See, you're never going to find this child of Dixieís.
Altered voice: Give up the information. The longer you wait, the longer you drown in your own filth.
Josh: You like margaritas?
Woman: Oh, yeah.
Josh: All right, listen. I'm going to be hanging out right over there. Why don't you come by later. All right?
Di: We need your help, Josh.
Josh: Listen, if this has anything to do with my father, forget you even saw me, all right?
Zach: I -- I risked your life to save Spike's, because that's what I believed you would've wanted. Because that's what you told me on the boat -- you would give up your life to save your son. So I took you at your word. Man, I hope I did the right thing.
Kendall: You heard me. You listened to me, and you remembered. You may be the only man who has ever truly listened to me.
Ryan: Zach makes Kendall very happy. He gets her and -- and believe me, I've seen Kendall happy, but I haven't seen her happy quite like this. You know, next time -- next time that you go in to see her, I want you to take a good look at her face, and you'll see what I mean. She's in a very good place right now -- and not only because of that little miracle right over there.
Bianca: So you don't want her to know how you feel?
Ryan: She knows how I feel. She knows. She knows that I love her. She knows that I love her, because she's the -- she's the mother of my son.
Bianca: But you don't just love her as the mother of your son, Ryan. It's a lot more than that.
Ryan: And I told her that. I sat at her bedside, and I told her. I told her that -- that I'm in love with her.
Bianca: I don't think she remembers that.
Bianca: She was in a coma.
Ryan: Yeah, well, it's probably a good thing that she doesnít. Ok? The only way that I'm going to show Kendall my love is to be the best father I can be to that little guy right over there, and I can be, and I will be. What?
Ryan: No, what?
Ryan: Seriously, if there's something you want to say, just, you know, say it.
Bianca: Honestly, Ryan, you don't want to know.
Ryan: Say it. Spit it out, Bianca. There's obviously something. Go ahead.
Bianca: You're in love with my sister, and you know that she's married and heart and soul with another guy, and you say that you're fine with that, that you can accept it, that -- that you'll get over it. But how can you get over Kendall when she's going to be in your face every single day? You guys have a kid together now. You're going to see Kendall more now than you have in the past couple of years. And you're not going to want to miss a single moment with Spike -- the first smile, first bottle, first steps --
Ryan: Yeah, birthday parties, swimming lessons -- yes, yeah. It's going to be great.
Bianca: Kendall is going to be there for all of that. Is that really going to be great or is it going to be torture?
Ryan: I know what you're saying, Bianca. I understand your point. I know that every time I go over to see Spike, and Kendall is sitting there with Zach right beside her -- you know, it could be me. It could -- it could be me sharing a life with her, yes. And every first that I have, every first that we have with Spike -- Kendall, Spike, myself -- it's not going to be like a real family. She will experience that with Zach. And I could let that eat me alive. Or I could realize how outrageously lucky that I am because I have -- I have a little boy who -- who needs me and who -- who honestly I love more than my mind could possibly comprehend. And he wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Kendall, so I just -- I just want to be thankful for the time I get to spend with them, that's it, instead of resenting the time that I don't. I just want to think of them as a gift. Kendall and Spike -- they're a gift. That's what they are.
Kendall: I am so lucky, Zach, because I have you on my side fighting for me. My son may never fully understand the lengths you went to to bring him into this world. But I know, and I'll never forget.
Zach: I did it for you, because I love you.
Kendall: I've never stopped loving you. Even when I pretended I hated you, I loved you. And right now, I have never loved you more.
Erica: And the next thing I knew, I -- I woke up on one of those benches in the park covered with newspapers, and I have no memory of how or when I got there.
Jack: Well, I've heard enough. I'm calling Derek.
Erica: Oh, no. Jack, you can't do that.
Jack: What, are you kidding me? Greg Madden drugged you. We have to bring the police in on this, honey.
Erica: No, Jack. If I can get away with never seeing that man again, I will do anything. Drop it, Jack. I mean it.
Di: The mother/child bond -- Josh, you can't spit on that. You can't just blow this off. My sister was separated from her child because of your father, and I can't expect Dixie just to suck it up and move on. You can't, either.
Josh: Look, I don't know how many times or different ways you want me to tell you this. I have no idea where the kid is.
Del: That is such bull.
Josh: Look, if my dad has some secret that he's keeping from your sister, he never shared it with me.
Jack: So you just want to let him skate. Honey, he could've killed you. And you just want to look the other way?
Erica: Jack, the sooner I forget I ever knew Greg Madden, the better off I'll be.
Josh: My father is gone. I don't know where he is. I don't know when he's coming back if he's coming back. I have no idea what he's done to Dixie if anything. All I know is that I am so over my dad and everything related to him that as far as I'm concerned, I don't even have a father anymore.
Greg: That little girl, the baby that Dixie chose to give away -- she's happy. She's with people she's considered her parents since she could form her first thought. Don't ask me to take her away from the only people that she has ever loved. It's cruel. It would be selfish. Tell me you understand that.
Bianca: You're a much bigger person than I am.
Ryan: Hmm. I doubt that.
Bianca: Well, you seem to be handling this whole situation with Kendall pretty well.
Ryan: I don't really have another choice, do I? I have to. Have a little faith.
Bianca: I should, shouldn't I?
Bianca: Life is good, a real gift.
Ryan: And that little guy right in there, my new lucky charm. It's interesting, because he was supposed to be Kendallís gift to Greenlee; and the way things have worked out, he's become Kendallís gift to me. I would -- I would love Spike no matter who his mother was, but the fact that a part of -- a part of him is Kendall and that she gave me this total treasure to share my life with, I look at Spike and I guess I -- I finally know what I was born for, thanks to Kendall. All Kendall.
[In her hospital room, Kendall and Zach lovingly hug each other.]
Erica: Jack, tell me that you're going to drop this. Tell me that you'll forget about Greg Madden. Tell me that he's a thing of the past.
Jack: He's a maniac is what he is, Erica. God knows what could've happened to you while you were passed out on that park bench. Look, you want me to just forget about this, but I'm sorry, sweetheart. I love you. I can't just forget about this. I'm going to call Derek and have him put an APB out on Dr. Greg Madden.
Tad: Dixie, I'm going to Maddenís spa on that island you told me about. Now, look, there have got to be records or files, and even if they're coded, I can break a code. At least I can come back with some kind of clue.
Dixie: Don't you think he's covered his tracks? He knows we know about that place.
Tad: We are going to find our daughter. What? What's wrong?
Dixie: Nothing. Um -- you said "we." Thank you for that.
Greg: Can you hear me? Hello? Answer me. Oh. Is this thing working? Hello? Damn it! Where have you gone? Oh. Can you hear me? Oh.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Babe (to Josh): Leave now or you eat the next one.
Julia (to Jamie): I guess I do owe you dinner.
Jamie (to Julia): Well, what would you like in return?
Ryan (to Kendall): Trust me, you want to let Zach take care of this, ok? J.R. is your worst enemy.
