Ryan: All right, let's get in there, let's save Kendall.

Derek: No, you're going to back down now, Lavery, unless you want a bloodbath in there.

Zach: She moved her finger, Julia. I saw it. Don't look at the monitor, look at her hand. Come on, Kendall, do it again. Do it for Spike. Come on, honey. Come back to us, we're all waiting for you.

Jack: I want my daughter back, Aidan.

Aidan: Yeah, we all want Lily home safe. I'm working around the clock to make sure that it happens.

Jack: Yeah, doing what, exactly? You've got 30, 40 more operatives working on this. They haven't come up with one thing, Aidan. Nothing. We don't know any more today than we did the day that Lily ran away. We don't know if she's hurt, we don't know if she's hungry, we don't even know if she's dead or alive. My daughter is lost in one of the most dangerous cities in the world, and we don't know one damn thing, do we?

Reggie: Yeah, we do. We know that the danger level definitely goes up if Jonathan gets to Lily before we do.

[Kids play in Battery Park]

Jonathan: We're almost there.

Lily: Ok.

Jonathan: We're almost there. Ok, ok, I -- you can open your eyes now.

[Lily opens her eyes and looks across the harbor at the Statue of Liberty.]

Lily: You made it so beautiful. You know, I think I might like the big city if I'm with you.

Jonathan: Well, let's go find out.

Lily: Ok.

Jonathan: Ok.

Stuart: I thought the horseshoes could go right over there.

Babe: You thought of everything, Stuart. I think this'll be the perfect place for our Memorial Day picnic. No flippin' way. Huh. How the hell did you get out of jail?

Zach: Julia, she moved her finger, I swear it.

Julia: Zach, just because Kendall moved -- it could've been nothing more than a random muscle twitch.

Zach: It's not random. I asked her a question. I asked her if I was doing the right thing with Spike, and she answered me.

Julia: Until she opens her eyes and communicates with you directly -- it's not proof she's coming out of her coma.

Kendall's voice: You have got to be kidding me. Could be any more negative, Keefer?

Zach: Ok, you want proof? All right. Come on, Kendall, do it again, move your finger again. Do it for Julia. Move your finger, come on. Come on, Kendall, you can do it. Do it for Spike. Just do it again.

Derek: This isn't some bar fight we're barging in on, Ryan.

Ryan: All right. All right. I'll wait for Julia to come out, all right, and then I'll slip in, and I'll do what I have to do. But just know that I'm doing it, Derek. You can send your guys in for backup or not. I don't care, I'm going in.

Bianca: Ryan, please don't do this. This isn't what Kendall wants.

Erica: Bianca, please. Ryan knows what he's doing.

Bianca: You can't honestly believe that that's what Kendall wants -- for the two most important men in her life to kill each other?

Kendall's voice: Come on, stupid finger, move, already. I can't let them take my baby from me, not yet. Please, God, please let me do this one little thing.

Julia: Zach, you can't --

Zach: Why don't you check some levels on things? Check this ICP thing and that, because I know her numbers are improving, they have to be. You're going, you do that. Babe swore in court that she saw your finger move, because she asked you if you wanted her to stand up for you in court, and you must've answered her. So are you -- are you answering me now? Huh? Are you telling me that I'm doing the right thing with Spike, that he -- he should stay in there a little longer? Huh? Come on.

Julia: Spontaneous motor reflexes are not uncommon in comatose patients. Unfortunately, they don't necessarily signal a change in her condition one way or the other.

Bianca: Please don't barge in there.

Erica: Honey, please don't make anything more difficult than it already is.

Bianca: Please, Ryan. Please, just -- just a little bit more time.

Ryan: That's just -- that's the problem, ok? Your sister doesn't have any more time.

Aidan: We found out that Lily stayed in a hotel called The Jerome in the city. Unfortunately, we learned about it too late. By the time I got there, she'd already gone.

Jack: But she was all right?

Aidan: There were some complaints registered the night that she stayed there. A loud disagreement was heard from inside her room.

Reggie: Wait, so you're saying she wasn't alone?

Aidan: Apparently not.

Jack: Don't tell me. It was Lavery.

Aidan: Well, we don't know that for sure, but someone resembling Jonathan was seen at the hotel that night.

Reggie: He did it, J, hmm? He took her again.

Aidan: Hey, slow down --

Jack: Let me be clear about one thing here. If it was Jonathan Lavery, when I get ahold of him --

Erin: What -- what are you going to do, Jack? Are you going to beat him up? You going to kill him?

Jack: Looks like your brother may have kidnapped my daughter again, Erin.

Erin: My brother loves your daughter, who, by the way, ran away all on her own. He's not going to hurt her.

Reggie: You weren't around the last time your brother took Lily, ok?

Erin: Ok, my brother was sick, and he's a different person now. And no, no, Jonathan isn't like you or me. Neither is Lily. But, God, does that mean that they don't feel love the same way that we do? Because you know what, Jack? I've seen them together, and they get giddy when they see each other the same way any "normal couple" would. Love is love no matter who you are, and if you were lucky enough to find that, nobody's got the right to take it away from you.

[Lily gets upset when lots of people come close to her.]

Lily: Oh! Don't touch! Don't touch, don't touch! Don't touch. The people -- all the people --

Jonathan: It's ok.

[A loud horn sounds]

Lily: Too loud! Too loud!

Jonathan: It's ok. Lily -- Lily --

Lily: It's too loud, Jonathan.

Jonathan: Ok, no, think of it as a -- as a mathematical equation. It's -- all the loud noises, it's like an equation, ok? It's A plus B plus C equals the big city, ok, and A the traffic and the horns, and B is the noise and all the people talking loudly. But C -- C is kids laughing. Can you focus on that? Can -- can you do that, Lily

Lily: But what if no one's laughing?

Jonathan: Well, then we'll find another happy noise for you to focus on, like -- well, there's bells and -- and there's music and there's --

Lily: Your voice?

[Lily and Jonathan each hold one end of a scarf and continue walking.]

Babe: So how'd you pull it off? Did you buy off some guards or plan the perfect jailbreak? Or no, maybe -- maybe you used some of your clout and you bought some cops or the DA or a judge.

Stuart: J.R. didnít do anything illegal. His bail got posted with "special provisions."

Babe: And what were those? "Don't try to kill your wife, just spy on her from the bushes"? That's real nice.

Stuart: I just wanted J.R. to see how things really are.

Babe: You did this, Stuart? I don't know exactly what you said to your uncle to make him feel sorry for you, but don't even bother telling it to me. "I've finally seen the light now, Babe." It's not going to cut it anymore, J.R. So I don't want to hear how much you love me or what a big mistake you made, or how you're never going to doubt me again, because I have heard it a million times and it's never true.

Stuart: He's -- if you'd just let him speak --

J.R.: It's all right, Uncle Stuart. Babeís right. I don't deserve another chance, and you'd be pretty stupid to give me one.

Erica: Bianca, listen to me. This is not our decision. We went to court, and the judge ruled in Ryanís favor. It is his decision to make, and believe me, we have tried everything else.

Bianca: Ryan, can I please talk to you for just a minute? Please, this is Ė what you are about to do right now, it's a matter of life and probably death. And I think it wouldn't hurt to take a minute and think about it.

Ryan: You donít do anything until I get back. Nothing.

Stuart: Babe, if you'd just hear my nephew out, I think -- I think you can -- I know a lot of words can be empty, but -- well, if you look into his eyes, I think you really can see that his heart has changed for the better. I know maybe you think it's all phony, and he's just making a fool out of me. Well, it wouldn't be the first time that somebody made a fool out of me, but I don't think I'm wrong. So why don't you just see for yourself? Ok?

J.R.: You were dead-on about my mother -- and my brother and Tad and Di, especially about you. How I kept doubting how much you loved me. Hello, alcohol, and then watch me just start tearing everything down.

Babe: So he finally sees the light -- again?

J.R.: Not "again." Finally. I know that you love me, Babe. Or loved me.

Babe: So if I was right about all of those things, am I right about this? Did you try to kill me?

Ryan: Why did you stop me from going in the room?

Bianca: I just wanted you to take a minute and think about what it was you were about to do.

Ryan: And see things ?

Bianca: No. But if you do this, if you declare this war on Zach, you can't take it back. You can't unshoot bullets -- just ask J.R.

Ryan: You're not seriously comparing me to J.R., are you?

Bianca: No, I'm not comparing you to J.R. I just don't want you to do something that you're going to regret.

Ryan: The longer that I wait --

Bianca: The longer you wait, the more likely it is that your son will be born healthy.

Ryan: And Kendall, your sister -- your sister -- if we take the baby out now, she could live.

Bianca: Yeah. Yeah, she could. She could live the rest of her life full of regret, and hating you for taking away her choices and for sacrificing her son.

Julia: I'm sorry, Zach, Kendallís ICP number hasn't changed.

Zach: Well, it hasn't gotten worse.

Kendall's voice: I want a new nurse, someone slightly more encouraging than "Julia the bleak," please.

Julia: You can't take that as a sign that Kendall is coming out of her coma. It just means that the pressure in her brain is holding steady, nothing more.

Zach: She's coming out of it.

Julia: Zach, she may never come out of it.

Kendall's voice: Oh, God. Please, no.

Zach: Get out.

Julia: You need to know the possibilities --

Zach: I know, I do know. Because I saw. It's all I need. What I don't need is for you to give me the worst-case scenario. She doesn't need to hear that, either. So you're done here. Thank you for your help, get out.

Julia: Zach --

Kendall's voice: The rest of my life? Trapped in here the rest of my life?

[While the music plays, Jonathan and Lily frolic around the park until, sitting on a bench, she rests her head on his shoulder.]

Singer: We don't have to try to think the same thoughts, we just have a way of knowing everything's gonna be ok

Singers: We'll laugh till we cry, read each other's minds, live with a smile, make it all worthwhile, make it all worthwhile. Life has moments hard to describe, feeling great, feeling alive, never coming down from this mountain we're on. Always knowing we're gonna be fine, feeling great, feeling alive never coming down from this mountain we're on. The view is so clear, and it's crazy up here

Singer: Life is amazing with you on the ride

Aidan: You're going about this the wrong way, Jack.

Reggie: Here it comes.

Aidan: You have the power to bring Lily home safe, yet you refuse to use it.

Jack: So now you've joined the ranks of the people who believe that it's my fault my daughter ran away, is that right?

Reggie: Jack, you don't have to listen to this BS, ok? It's BS.

Aidan: Tell Lily and Jonathan that all is forgiven, that you've changed your mind about them, that they can come back to Pine Valley and be together. You watch how fast they'll come back.

Erin: That -- that's actually a brilliant idea, Aidan. I mean, Lily ran away because you wouldn't let her be with my brother, and if Lily is with Jonathan now -- and I hope to God that she is, Jack- then they're not going to come back to Pine Valley if they know that you're determined to keep them apart. I see two options for you, Jack -- you can change your attitude or you can lose your daughter.

Babe: So you were wrong about everything, and you've finally seen the light, and you're ready to make amends. Huh. But it's obviously going to be a cold day in hell before you ever admit that you wanted me dead.

J.R.: It feels impossible for me to say those words, Babe, because I can't believe it ever happened. How I could get so angry and twisted that I would want to see you die? The person who hurt Kendall, who wanted to hurt you, is a stranger to me. But he is me. I'm the person who pushed over all that heavy building material. I don't know how I ever got to that point. But it feels to me like it was something or someone that I'd seen on TV or -- it's as if I was -- insane.

Babe: No. No, no, "not guilty by reason of insanity"? Come on, J.R.

J.R.: No, no, I'm not going there. I'm just trying to work it out so that you could understand, so that I can understand.

Babe: Ok, fine. Fine, so you're blown away by your nasty killer instinct. That does what for us? We're over, J.R.

J.R.: I love you, Babe. I want you back.

Stuart: Hi.

Erica: Stuart. My daughter could die. What do I do, Stuart?

Stuart: Just -- just go on loving her. Now, this reminds me so much of Cooter.

Ryan: We don't know what she wants. She never told you, she never told me. I don't know. She never told me that she would die for our son.

Bianca: Wouldn't you? Really, wouldn't you die for your son? I mean -- it's true, we don't know. But Zach says that Kendall fell in love with your son, and I believe him, and Babe testified to it. And if they're right, then this is what Kendall wants.

Ryan: "If," Bianca, "if."

Bianca: I don't want her to die. I don't want her to die, either, but if -- if you're not trying to do what she wants, then I don't understand what it is you are trying to do.

Ryan: I am trying to save Kendall because I -- because I love her.

Zach: I love you. I don't even think you know how much. And it won't be long before Spike's going to come join us. But not yet. He's going to have to stay in there a little longer. So you're going to have to hang in there. Ok? Because we have a life to plan, you and me and the little slugger. And you know what? Um -- I've been kicking around some ideas. Some good, some -- but I'm not going to tell you about them because I want to make sure that you're both ok. And I know you don't like surprises, I don't like them, either. So, tell you what, I'll make you a deal. You open your eyes right now, and I'll let you plan all our trips. Come on, Kendall, that's a good deal. Just open your eyes. Spike needs his mom. And I -- I need you, too.

Kendall's voice: I need you. I won't let you lose another person you love, Zach.

Zach: I can't let you die, Kendall. It's not going to happen.

Bianca: You love Kendall as a friend.

Ryan: I'm in love with her. I loved her so deeply back in the day. Maybe that just -- maybe that just never went away, or -- or maybe it came back. I have no idea. All I know is that right now in this moment, right now, I'm feeling everything that I have ever felt for her, everything. I felt -- from the first moment that I touched her, the first conversation that we had to the first argument -- everything. I'm too late, aren't I?

Zach: Oh, God, don't tell me. It's -- Antigua. That's what it was. Legend has it that there is a magic tree in the rainforest, and if you were to hammer a nail into the trunk of that tree, all the leaves would get miraculous healing powers. So that's what I want to do. I want to take you there, and I'll bring the biggest nail I can find, and I'll nail it in that tree, and I'll -- I'll take the leaves, and I'll put them right here like that. See? Then you would open your eyes. And you'd try to speak, but you couldn't because I'd be kissing all over you. That would be it, the beginning of the rest of our lives. Just you, me, and Spike. And this -- whatever this is -- this nightmare is going to be behind us forever.

Babe: You love me, and you're sorry, and you want me back. How many times have I heard that one before, J.R., and how many times have you gone back on your word?

J.R.: I don't know. 10? 20? 200? I have no idea, Babe. All I know is it's different this time.

Babe: Mm-hmm. I've heard that one before, too.

J.R.: Well, Uncle Stuart posted my bail and got me out of there. He took me on a Pine Valley eavesdropping tour to hear how everybody really felt about me.

Babe: And this is supposed to make me feel better how?

J.R.: I heard you tell Jamie that you love me, Josh and Jamie both, and you had no idea that I was there. I heard you say that you loved me despite of all the terrible things that I've done, and that's when it really hit home. I know that you should hate me right now, but you don't. You love me, and I was an idiot to ever doubt that.

Babe: Ok. So you believe that I love you. But do you believe that this marriage was never one big plot to steal our son?

J.R.: I believe everything you've said, since we took those vows in that garden.

Babe: So all it took was you facing a prison sentence. Gee, if I'd only known.

J.R.: It should've never come down to this. I should've trusted you all along. Look, I can't change the million times that I screwed up, but I can come clean now. I have some faith. Maybe it's too little too late, but I love you from everything that's inside me, and I want to have that life with you and my son. Look, I'm not going to blame anybody else for this anymore. I'm not going to blame my father, I'm not going to blame my mother and all the history that I have with you. I'm going to take full responsibility, and I cannot presume that this is going to mean anything to you, but I do miss you. And if there's any chance that we could have a family again --

Babe: J.R., it doesn't matter how sincere you are right now. The second that you crack open another bottle of booze, I'm ducking for cover. I can't live my life like that. I wonít.

J.R.: Babe --

Aidan: Listen, Jack, I won't do anything without your ok. But if you do sign off on it, well, then I'll let my men know to distribute fliers, signs -- whatever it takes to let Lily and Jonathan know that they can come back and they can be a couple. No tricks, no games, just back home where they belong.

Jack: You're asking me to do a complete 180 here, Aidan.

Aidan: To get your daughter back home safe as soon as possible, yeah, that's right.

[Jack sighs]

Reggie: Don't do it, Jack. You can't possibly sign off on Lily getting back with Jonathan, he's a monster.

Erin: Listen. Listen. Jonathan and Lily are obviously determined to be together whether you consent to it or not. Lily and Jonathan need to be around family and friends that they can turn to when they need support. Jack, are you -- seriously, are you just this determined to be stubborn and leave them all alone out there with only each other to depend on?

Jack: Do it.

Lily: Next time at Boules, I'll allow for inconsistencies in the sand for my trajectory calculations. After another snack, would you like to play chess again?

Jonathan: I'm not sure. I'm not sure. Maybe we should go pack to the hotel. Maybe we should go back to the -- to the hotel.

Lily: But we've only explored roughly four square miles of Manhattan. There's still 27 square miles to visit.

Jonathan: Lily, I think we have to stop now and -- I don't -- I don't want to ruin anything, ok, and I have a headache. It wasn't bad at first, but it's -- it's wetting curse. It's getting worse. Last time I had a headache is when I had the tumor, and -- and I did all those bad things. Lily, I -- I don't want to hurt you.

Lily: Jonathan, you'd never hurt me. You've helped me so many times. I believe you.

Jonathan: What if I'm wrong?

Lily: Ok, Jonathan, please lean forward.

Jonathan: Lily, if I'm sick again or if I -- if I start to hurt you --

Lily: No, Jonathan, tension, dehydration, and heat can all cause headaches, not just tumors, which are statistically extremely rare. So please lean forward.

Jonathan: Thank you, Lily.

Lily: You're welcome.

Stuart: Cooter was my dog when I was a little kid.

Erica: I'm sorry. I just -- I don't see how this could relate to Kendall.

Stuart: Cooter -- Cooter taught me that there are some things in life you just can't fix. We just have so little control, really, if you think about it, and Cooter knew that. He knew that if he waited long enough, it would work out just as it should. So -- here's my point. He was 12 years old, and he was looking rather poorly one morning and -- well, he jumped up in my bed and licked me on the chin, and then he put his head on my chest and closed his eyes and got real still, like he was waiting. And then he opened his eyes, and he licked me on the chin again, and lived for four more years! Cooter went on living. He was -- he was a hundred years old in people years when he died.

Erica: Stuart, I know you're really trying, and I thank you for that, I really do. I just don't think anything is going to make this any easier.

Ryan: Maybe if I just realized this before, maybe I -- I --

Bianca: Ryan, they -- they love each other, Kendall and Zach. They're married.

Ryan: I know. And Kendall always accuses me of never letting her be her, never accepting what she does or why she does it.

Bianca: Because you always knew better?

Lily: You're very handsome. How does your head feel?

Jonathan: I feel -- I feel much better. Thank you. The ice was a really good idea.

Lily: You know, you helped me a lot today. When I was about to freak out because of all the noise, and you told me to eliminate the bad and just concentrate on the good. And then I helped you when you had a headache and -- and I helped you feel better and not afraid.

Jonathan: We -- we worked -- we worked together as a team.

Lily: I love you. I can feel a difference.

Jonathan: I -- Lily -- Lily, you know that you don't have to say that, ok? Because I'm happy if you just like me --

Lily: No, I know that. But I do love you. And I had my birthday, and I'd like to talk about marriage now.

Jonathan: Well, I -- I would like to talk about marriage, too. Lily, will you marry me?

Lily: Yes. I'd like that very much.

Jack: Just please, Aidan, call me when you hear anything on Lily, please.

Aidan: Absolutely.

Jack: Great.

Aidan: I'm going to call my associates now and have them plaster New York City, just to let Lily and Jonathan know that all is forgiven.

Jack: Thank you very much. Let's go.

Reggie: Wait. Dad, you're not seriously considering changing your mind about Lily and Jonathan, are you?

Jack: I want your sister back home. I want her safe, back with us.

Reggie: Yeah.

Jack: Once she's there, all bets are off.

Aidan: I'm going to fax over the fliers to you as soon as I have them ready, ok?

Erin: This is kind of unbelievable. Jack's letting the grudge against Jonathan go. I --

Aidan: Well, let's just hope he means it.

Erin: Hmm. Hmm.

Aidan: Anyway, when did you become an expert on love?

Erin: Well, the concept is new to me, but I'm a quick learner, and I kind of have an amazing teacher.

Aidan: Really?

Erin: Yeah.

J.R.: I admitted that I'm an alcoholic. I got myself into an outpatient detox program. I have to have this card signed every time I attend an AA meeting.

Babe: I'm impressed.

J.R.: I need help. And I can't do it alone. And am I excited about it? No, I'd rather chug shards of glass. But I am determined to make a change. A change for the better.

Babe: I'm really happy for you.

J.R.: Now, you understand where I'm coming from, what I feel. So is it still "in your dreams, J.R."? Or are you willing to give it another go? Can you ever forgive me?

Ryan: Derek, it's my call.

[Knock on door]

Ryan: Zach? It's Ryan.

Zach: What is it? What, you come down to break the door open for your little SWAT team?

Ryan: No, I've come to join you.

Erica: What? Ryan --

Ryan: You asked for my word that I was on Kendallís side, and I'm giving that to you now. I will not take the baby, and we will do this Kendallís way.

[Zach removes the barricade and allows Ryan to enter Kendallís room.]

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Babe: This is your chance, J.R. No witnesses. Just you and me. You can either help me up or push me under.

Ryan: What is that -- what is that monitor? Is it her heart?

Doctor: She hasn't arrested.

Josh: It's the ICP monitor. If you don't make a decision, we lose Kendall now.
