Babe: Dixie, this is your family here. They love you, and they deserve the truth. They have a right to know why you stayed away all this time. Your son, J.R., most of all. You say that you love him. Why don't you tell him why? Just tell him everything.
J.R.: The only person in this room who needs to spill some truth is you.
Kendall: There it is. There's the marina. We are home.
Zach: So, where do we go now, my beautiful bride? Your place, my place? Tahiti, Detroit -- where do you want to go?
Kendall: I'm not going anywhere with you.
Aidan: Has anything turned up on Lily Montgomery? I get New York is a big
place -- just keep me posted.
Aidan: Hey, Pete. NYPD has nothing. Please tell me you've had better luck tailing Jonathan. Did he lead you to Lily?
[Knock on door]
Aidan: You're kidding me.
Jonathan: I want to hire you, Aidan. You have to find Lily.
[Lost in the Big Apple, Lily is overwhelmed by bright lights, loud sirens,
and horns honking. Kneeling on the sidewalk, she picks up a newspaper and reads
Lily: It's my birthday. I -- I didn't have birthday cake, but I'm 18. I'm an adult. I can do whatever I want. Ok, I'll -- I'll make a new plan and I'll -- I'll make it work.
Babe: Your mother is the one with the secret, J.R., not me.
J.R.: Everybody has tried so hard to help me understand you, Mom. Thanks for the pool game, Tad. Jamie even bought me nachos. Dad even reached out to me -- well, except for trying to boot me out of Chandler Enterprises. It was a real group effort. See, they don't understand you. Babe does. See, you and my wife -- you'll do anything and whatever it takes to get whatever you want. You lie, you cheat. You guys are just a pair of --
Tad: That's enough, J.R.
J.R.: You know, you really outdid yourself, Babe. Takes a lot of planning for this, doesn't it? Or did you brainstorm the idea last night while we were making love?
Jamie: Hey, come on. Take it down, J.R.
Krystal: Or I'll take it down for you.
J.R.: Nothing distracts you, does it, Babe? Eye on the prize, custody of our son from day one.
Babe: You know that that is not true. You know how much I love you.
J.R.: Oh, you love me? Oh, because I'm feeling it right now. I'm all warm and fuzzy all over.
Adam: J.R. -- Babe wants to help you. We all do.
J.R.: You cry to my family that I'm drunk, you pull them all together to express their feelings and watch me disintegrate in front of their very eyes. And this? This is supposed to push me over the edge? Well, it worked, Babe, because as of right now, I'm officially over the edge!
Krystal: You do not get to trash Babe. The only thing she is guilty of is wanting a decent husband, a good father for Little Adam.
Babe: It's all right, Mama.
Krystal: No, it sure the hell isn't all right. Do you think she wanted this? Do you think she wanted to have to call your family and tell them that you're boozing it up again? Do you think she likes being married to a world-class, grade-A jerk?
Babe: I can handle it.
J.R.: Oh, come on. Don't wreck baby doll's master plan.
Adam: Come on, J.R. Dixie has a lot more explaining to do than Babe does.
Jamie: So how about you lay off your wife, shut up, and listen to what Dixie has to say?
Krystal: Yeah, Dixie. Jump in anytime.
J.R.: Oh, please, don't bother. See, Dixie was the exact excuse Babe needed to pull off this fiesta.
Brooke: Well, I called Tad and asked him to come over, so does that make me a co-conspirator?
J.R.: Brooke, I'm so disappointed.
Tad: J.R., what's wrong with you? Babe called us here, because she wants to help you.
J.R.: Drive me to drink? Yeah, yeah -- well it worked. That last wedding of ours that we all love to remember, the happy day? You know why Babe couldn't wipe the smile off her face? Because that was part one of her plan to get custody of my son.
Krystal: Oh, God, that is just a bunch of crap!
J.R.: Oh, Jamie knew it, but I blew it off. What a sucker I was.
Jamie: Hey, Babe married you, because she loves you.
J.R.: Guess I'm not the only sucker. Hey, maybe you could still get a shot with her, huh?
Jamie: Knock it off.
J.R.: You know, David even warned me about his own daughter, but I should've listened. I was hooked -- man, you are so good. Yeah, that's right -- like I'm the only loser? You're all being played. Babe didn't bring you in here, because she loves me. It's because I'm Exhibit A and you're the witnesses, ready, willing, and able to testify that I am the big, bad flippin' wolf, and that Babe deserves full custody of my son. I tell you what, Babe -- you want some more proof? How about 80% proof? Isn't that right, Dad?
Dixie: J.R., your mother loves you. Your wife loves you. Don't take it out on her. The person you're angry with is me.
Man: Oh. Oh, yeah, oh, yeah.
Man: Hey, guys, could you spare any change? You got any change? Oh, man. Excellent, thank you. Thank you very much. Thanks. Oh. Thank you, thank you.
Man: Change? Look, can you spare some change, please? Spare some change? Change, please? Hey, a spare quarter, pretty girl? Hey, could you help me get something to eat?
Lily: I'm not a girl. I'm an adult. And I don't have a quarter.
Man: Well, whatever you got's fine.
Lily: I don't have any food or money.
Man: What good are you, then? Spare some change, anybody?
Second man: Yeah.
First man: Excuse me.
Second man: I'll be right there.
First man: Spare some change?
Second man: There you go.
First man: Thank you.
Lily: Oh, excuse me, sir?
Man: Yeah, uh-huh.
Lily: I have to call my boyfriend in Pine Valley. Can I borrow your quarter, please?
Jonathan: Will you help me find Lily?
Aidan: What was the last thing she said to you?
Jonathan: Oh, that she had a plan.
Aidan: That -- that's it? There was no details?
Jonathan: No, she didn't say it. She -- she wrote it down. Jackson was there when -- when we said good-bye. Lily asked to shake my hand, Aidan --
Aidan: All right.
Jonathan: Then she touched me. Lily really wanted to touch me.
Aidan: And the piece of paper?
Jonathan: Well, she slipped it to me. It -- here. I -- I saved it.
Aidan: "Jonathan, I have a plan. Lily." And you're telling me you don't know what her plan is?
Jonathan: I don't. I haven't talked to her since she left.
Aidan: Ok, all right. Well, before she left, did she say anything that might give us a clue to where she might be now?
Jonathan: Well, we talked about living together in Boston.
Aidan: The train that Lily was on doesn't go to Boston. The last stop was Penn Station, New York City, where a train conductor saw her get off.
Jonathan: Hmm. Aidan, she has her maps and guide books about Boston. She's -- she doesn't know anything about New York.
Aidan: Well, she didn't have the money to buy a ticket to Boston, all right? Do you know anyone in New York City?
Jonathan: No. Well -- no. I don't -- I don't think so.
Aidan: You're sure? Not even a friend of a friend?
Jonathan: She's going to be so scared, Aidan. We have to help her. We have to find her.
Aidan: You know Lily more than anyone. Where would you go if you were Lily?
Jonathan: I would go to -- I would go to the tree house, except Jack tore it down.
Aidan: So is there any other places that you and Lily would go, somewhere where she would feel safe or wait for you?
Jonathan: No, no, there's not, Aidan. Do I have to sign something to speed this up, to say that I'm officially your client?
Aidan: Listen, when you were talking to Lily about living together, did you talk about anywhere other than Boston?
Jonathan: No. She wants to go to MIT. That was the plan. We didn't have another -- you're -- you're thinking like Jack. You think that I'm helping Lily hide?
Zach: Wow. So you've given up on your ruggedly handsome husband already.
Kendall: Yes, you are very handsome. And, yes, rugged. And I just have some things to take care of before we get on with the wedded bliss.
Zach: Like what?
Kendall: Like Mother and Ryan.
Zach: Well, the good news is I'm going to be right by you, standing right here. It's part of the vows.
Kendall: Yeah, but I should really do this alone, especially the Ryan part. You understand, right?
Zach: Sure. He'll be happy to hear that you decided to keep the baby -- not so happy that you married me.
Kendall: No, Ryan and I aren't like that anymore. We've been through good, bad, and ugly together. I just -- I want a chance to tell him this in my way.
Zach: I understand, Ryan and you have a baby together. That's really no one else's business but yours and Ryan's.
Kendall: You make it sound so simple.
Zach: It is simple, compared to the story you're going to have to tell your mom.
Zach: Who's going to be first -- Erica or Ryan?
Kendall: Actually, neither.
Kendall: I'm going to Fusion.
Zach: Going to work tonight? Why?
Kendall: Well, I got a message there was a problem with the body shimmer and it's --
Kendall: Got to be on the counter by Monday, and if that's going to happen, I got to get it out by tomorrow.
Zach: Yeah, that body shimmer. Let somebody else do it. Come on.
Kendall: Come on, Zach. I would love to, but I have really been out of the loop for a while with things being so crazy and -- and now that I'm back and feeling good, I want them to know that I'm stronger than ever.
Zach: And more beautiful than ever.
Kendall: We're home. We are home. I can't wait to get back in the swing of things and -- and just get things going again. You really did this. You did it, you gave me me. I can feel it.
Zach: Take care of Spike.
Kendall: I will. And you're sure you don't mind? You're sure you're cool with me stepping out like this?
Zach: Yeah, well, I have my heart set on a honeymoon, but Detroit's going to have to wait.
Zach: Our whole lives ahead of us.
Dixie: Baby, you have every right to be furious with me.
J.R.: What are you going to do, Mom? Are you going to kiss it and make it better? You'll show me the light, help me understand?
Jamie: Drop the attitude and shut up, ok? Let Dixie talk.
J.R.: I thought you were with me on this. The woman formerly known as my mother is a two-faced, lying, cheating --
Brooke: Give Dixie a chance.
J.R.: Oh, yeah. That's right, that's right. Everybody take Dixie's side, pile on me. You know what? This suck party is over!
Dixie: J.R., if you'd just let me, I will explain.
J.R.: No, it's more lies. It's more garbage.
Tad: Did you ever intend to say something meaningful?
Dixie: J.R., you have to let me explain. You have to understand why I went away.
J.R.: Why did you even come back?
Dixie: Sweetie, I left because I was pregnant with Kate, and there were serious risks. In order to avoid all the stress and the pressure and to safely have her, I had to leave.
J.R.: I got it. You wanted Kate more than me.
Dixie: J.R., that is not fair. I did not choose your sister over you.
J.R.: Yeah, but you left because of her.
Dixie: Yes, I did. That's true, but -- maybe I should've taken you with me.
J.R.: Oh, come on. You didn't want me to be with you, and you sure as hell didn't want to tell me that you were back. You didn't even want me to know that you were in town, so -- so for once in your life, Mother, can you please be honest with me? You wanted Kate more than you wanted to be with me.
Dixie: No, that's not true. I missed you every day, I thought of you every day, I wanted to be with you every day, but it just wasn't.
J.R.: The kid who acted out?
J.R.: The kid who crashed cars, the kid who had the drug problem? Come back to that tug of war with Dad over me -- I mean, who would want that? Better to start out with new, innocent Kate, the daughter whose daddy was the love of your life -- or at least, Tad was.
Dixie: I never wanted a life without you.
J.R.: Then why don't you take a picture and go?
Dixie: J.R., I love you. I didn't mean to leave you. I didn't want to leave you. Look, there's -- there's a lot of things that you don't understand.
J.R.: This car wreck -- it really screwed things up, but you recovered. Wow, what a miracle.
Dixie: Yes, it was a miracle, but it took me a long, long time to get better.
J.R.: But that's not what kept you away. You chose to stay away, you chose to give up on me, and you chose one child over the other. So now you lost both.
Adam: What in blazes were you thinking inviting Dixie here?
Krystal: Oh, back off, Adam.
Babe: J.R. is drinking because of Dixie and whatever she's holding back. If she would've just stepped up and laid it out, maybe J.R. would've laid off the bottle for good.
Adam: Or even more likely, pour himself a drink.
Brooke: Oh, don't blame Babe. J.R. would've taken anything to use as his springboard out of here.
Babe: You can attack me all you want, but I had to try because I love J.R., and I'm not just going to stand back and let him be a possible danger to Little A. If J.R. does not sober up -- I hate to say this. I don't want to choose between my husband and my child, but I will if I have to.
Adam: Oh, any excuse to run, is that it?
Krystal: Wait --
Adam: No, it happened before.
Jamie: Does it look like she's running?
Babe: This is my house, my family. I will fight to make it work.
Adam: Well, you sure as blazes lost the first round, lady.
Tad: I didn't see you leading us to victory.
Babe: Oh, don't think I'm done yet, either. I'm -- I'm open to suggestions -- anyone? Any ideas how to break through J.R.'s wall before it's too late? Please, lay them on me. Oh, God. Nothing.
Krystal: You did your best, Babe. There's no shame in that.
Babe: Yeah, well, J.R. needs me to do better than my best, and I just don't know what the heck that is right now. You know what? I am going to go to Fusion, because somebody screwed up a shipment. Will you watch Little Adam --
Babe: Because with J.R. like this, who knows what he'll do or who he'll take.
Aidan: You swear to me, mate to mate, you don't know where Lily is?
Jonathan: Why would I hire you if I knew where to find her? Aidan, if I have any clues, I'll tell you.
Aidan: And would you tell Jackson?
Jonathan: Lily's going to be so scared. Aidan, this is bad. She needs order. She has to follow her schedules. She got so scared at the mall. New York City -- it has crowds and noise. I mean, somebody's going to touch her, and you know how she feels about red and --
Aidan: I know, I know. I'm just as worried about her as you are. I'm doing everything I can, Johnny.
Jonathan: Well, I have to do something, too. I can't just -- just sit around here and wait.
Aidan: Hey, Jonathan? Listen, if she calls you, find out exactly where she is, tell her to stay put, and call me immediately, ok?
Jonathan: I will. I promise.
Lily: I'll give you your quarter back, I swear. My boyfriend will come, and he'll give you money.
Man: Unless you have some coin, get out of my way. Spare some change?
Lily: No, will you --
Man: Spare some change?
Lily: Please explain to me why that man gave you money?
Man: Spare some -- is this a joke? Spare some change?
Lily: No, I don't know how to tell a joke --
Man: Spare some change?
Lily: Unless it's a knock-knock joke. Do you want to hear a knock-knock joke?
Man: You are not for real. Can you spare some change?
Lily: Of course, I am.
Man: Spare some change?
Lily: Will you please explain to me what to say so people will give you money?
Man: Like what I did with you. I hold out the cup, I say, "Spare a quarter so I could get something to eat." Not real complicated.
Lily: Are you hungry?
Man: No. People don't give you money for beer.
Lily: Well, they don't give you that much money for food, either.
Lily: I think --
Man: Spare some change? Spare some change?
[While a siren blares, Lily lifts a used cup out of a trash can and holds it out in front of passers-by.]
Man: Spare some change?
Lily: Spare some change, so I can get something to eat? Excuse me, Miss. Spare some change, so I can get something to eat, please? Spare some change? Spare some change, so I can get something to eat?
Jack: Aidan, what the hell is he doing here?
Aidan: Jonathan wants to help us find Lily.
Jack: Are you kid-- we don't need his help.
Aidan: Jack, he cares about Lily as much as we do.
Jack: He's the reason my daughter's gone to start with!
Jonathan: I make Lily happy. You're the reason that she's gone.
Jack: Do you have any leads, any leads at all?
Aidan: The NYPD has nothing.
Aidan: My men, the same story. Jack, we will find her, ok?
[As horns honk, Lily tries to call Jonathan on a pay phone.]
Jack: Is that my daughter?
Jonathan: Says it's unavailable!
Jack: Lily? Lily, is that you?
[With traffic noises in the background, Lily remains silent when Jack unexpectedly answers Jonathan's phone.]
Babe: No -- oh, no, no, no, no. You don't even try it. Don't start with me
today. I'm not in the mood for any of your bull. It's --
[Babe is taken aback when Kendall hugs her.]
Babe: Um --
Kendall: I love you.
Babe: Delirious much?
Kendall: Yeah, tomorrow I will probably hate your guts, but tonight I am in love with the world, including you.
Babe: Uh -- Kendall, you're scaring me.
Kendall: I -- I'm -- I'm having a baby, and I love him. I love him so much. I can't wait to see him and kiss him and -- and watch him sleep. I might
even count his toes.
Babe: You have got it bad, don't you?
Kendall: Yeah, I -- and I can feel all the big things, I really can. I can feel it all over. If something ever happened to this kid, I would breathe
fire. I would do anything for him. I would give my life for him.
Kendall: I'm a mom -- well, almost. And I can do it, I know I can. I just -- I need a little help, because I haven't really had any experience really
hands-on, so -- so any hints or tips that you can give me, I would be really grateful.
Kendall: Yeah, and you were right. I mean, we need to have a daycare center here at Fusion, and this way I can bring Spike to work as often as
Babe: Oh, no, no, no, no. You need to -- definitely time-out right there.
Babe: "Spike"? No.
Babe: Kendall --
Kendall: It's Spike. It's Spike, it's ok.
Babe: No. No, no, no.
Kendall: Wait a minute. You know what? That -- that new area that they're working on over there? That's the perfect place for a playroom.
[Roaming around Fusion's construction area, J.R. continues to drink out of a
liquor bottle and recalls past events with Babe, including intimate scenes on
the beach, their wedding, and their recent romantic vacation in France.]
Babe: If you want to keep telling your daddy off, don't let me stop you.
J.R.: This way to safety!
Babe: Oh. Oh, my hero!
J.R.: Do you want me to stop?
J.R.: I know what it's like to lose you. I need you to share the rest of my life with me. I do.
Babe: I do.
J.R.'s voice: You've given me love, our son, and a chance to make it right. I do know that I'll love you more than I could ever love anyone else. Notre amour ne meure jamais.
Babe: Does that mean something as beautiful as it sounds?
J.R.'s voice: "Our love will never die."
Babe: It's that we are going to have the best on-site daycare in Pine Valley.
Kendall: Top-of-the-line everything. I have no idea what that means.
Babe: It means cribs, playpens, changing tables, sleep areas, and play areas. That's good.
Kendall: Right, yes, that -- everything. See? You're good at this. You know nurseries, you've done nurseries. I -- I haven't even started.
Babe: Don't worry. You'll catch on quickly.
Kendall: Ok, so when I set up my nursery at home, will you be in charge of setting up the Fusion daycare center?
Babe: Absolutely -- are you kidding me? I would be honored. Do you know what we could do?
Babe: A mural, with fairy tales -- no, even better, animals, barnyards -- my favorite -- jungle, jungle theme, and we'll have monkeys swinging from trees, right?
Kendall: How about giraffes?
Babe: I love it! Very cute. Ok, I'm going to check it out, see if I can get some more ideas. Just let me know when Simone and Erin get here, ok?
J.R.: Babe, it's me.
Babe: Hey, J.R. Are you ok? Where are you?
J.R.: I was a jerk. I felt ambushed. I blew out of there, I'm sorry.
Babe: Hey, everyone that was in that room was there because we love you, especially me.
J.R.: Yeah, I know that now. Look, can we talk? Just you and me?
Babe: Yeah, yeah, great. I'll -- I'll head home right now.
J.R.: No. The last thing I want to do is see my dad. Can we meet at Fusion?
Babe: Ok. I'll -- I'll put some coffee on.
J.R.: I don't really feel up to seeing anyone else. Could you meet me at the construction site in -- in, say, 15 minutes?
Babe: Yeah. Yeah, I'll be there.
Babe: Yeah. J.R.'s been drinking again. He's mostly mean as a snake ever since Dixie got back.
Kendall: J.R. saw Dixie?
Zach: How you doing?
Dixie: Oh, lovely. I'm losing my mind.
Zach: One of my bartenders told me that your reunion with J.R. didn't go the way you'd planned.
Dixie: Oh, yes. It was a disaster, and it kind of went downhill from there.
Zach: I'm sorry.
Dixie: But how are you? How's Kendall? Did you manage to convince her to listen to you about Madden?
Zach: Yeah. And more than that, crazy woman married me.
Dixie: Huh. That's great. That's terr -- that's wonderful. Congratulations. That's -- hey!
[Zach and Dixie chuckle]
Dixie: Well. Well, I guess she forgave you. Maybe my family will forgive me.
Zach: Don't give up.
Dixie: Hmm. Oh, I thought you should know, I -- I tried a little chemical inducement to get the truth out of Madden.
Zach: You did what?
Dixie: Um -- you know, it didn't work -- huh -- so never mind. Oh. You know, I honestly -- I don't know what I'm going to do. I stayed in Pine Valley to get some answers and now I'm in hell, and I've taken my entire family with me.
Tad: Well, J.R. and Dixie are gone.
Krystal: Where the hell is your head? J.R. ripped Babe apart over some paranoid fantasy, and what do you do? You just stomp on what's left of her.
Adam: This whole touchy-feely confrontation was an asinine idea.
Krystal: You agreed to it! We all did.
Adam: No, I didn't agree to shoving Dixie in my son's face. No. Now he thinks we've ganged up on him. Huh? He's alone.
Krystal: All Babe wanted was for Dixie to give that boy a reason why she stayed away so long, a reason other than she just didn't love him.
Jamie: But maybe that is the reason. Maybe she doesn't love any of us anymore.
Jack: Lily, sweetheart, is that you? If it is, please -- please, honey, just
-- just tell me where you are, ok?
[As horns honk around her, Lily listens to her father but refuses to answer.]
Jack: Honey, I have your backpack. It has your sunglasses, your cell phone, your schedules -- everything you need. Just tell me where you are and I'll bring it to you. Please, honey. Lily? Lily?
[While sirens wale and horns continue to blare loudly, Lily hangs up the payphone.]
Jack: Damn it.
Jonathan: It was Lily, wasn't it? That was my private call. You shouldn't have taken my phone!
Jack: I don't know who it was. Whoever was on the other end didn't say a word.
Jonathan: Well, whoever it was, they wanted to talk to me!
Aidan: Lily ran away from you once, Jack. She might just have done it again.
Jack: She called this phone, Aidan. She may call again.
Jonathan: That's my phone.
Jack: Consider it on loan.
Jonathan: If you take that one, then you're the one that's making trouble.
[Amidst loud traffic noises and bright lights flashing all around, Lily's
senses are overloaded, so she covers her ears and staggers about on the busy
street of New York City.]
Lily: No, no, no, no. No, no, no, no. No, no. No, no, no, no. No, no. No, no, no, no, no!
Adam: Well, I've had enough of good intentions and Dixie to last me a
lifetime. I'm going to bed.
Krystal: Don't wait up.
Tad: Maybe Jamie's right. Maybe we just don't rate as far as Dixie is concerned. You know, we keep trying to figure out how she could do something like this -- keep waiting for answers she's not prepared to give.
Brooke: Well, whatever her reasons are, maybe in time, she will tell us.
Tad: Maybe we're just asking the wrong question. The real question is, who cares? It's perfectly obvious that Dixie doesn't. I don't know why we should keep banging our heads against the wall.
Krystal: No, you don't -- you don't mean that.
Tad: Yes, I do. She has made it crystal clear that she does not need us. J.R. does. We need to help him find a way to let her go. Maybe we should all just let her go.
Dixie: You should have seen J.R. He was so hurt. He was so upset. I almost
told him everything.
Zach: But you didn't.
Dixie: No, I can't. I can't do that. He would never understand. Besides, I don't have Kate.
Zach: Well, maybe if you told him the truth, maybe he would understand.
Dixie: No, no, no. You don't know J.R. That would just make things much, much worse. No, I -- I have to find Kate. I have to find her. I have to -- I have to bring her home and show her to them. I made a mess out of so many people's lives. Finding Kate, bringing her home to her family -- that's -- that's the one good thing left that I can do.
Zach: You had a rough time. Let me take care of Madden. I'll bring Kate to you.
Dixie: Zach, that's not your responsibility.
Zach: I want to help.
Dixie: You just got married. You know, go home. Go take care of Kendall. She's about to have a baby. You take care of your family, I'll take care of mine.
Zach: What do you have in mind?
Dixie: Well, I guess you're just going to have to wait and see.
Kendall: Dixie back from the dead, no explanation? J.R. must be out of his
Babe: He is. And I don't know what to do. He's such a mess, I can't even get through to him.
Kendall: Well, until about five minutes ago, I was a huge mess about this baby. I just wanted to do the right thing, but I had no idea what that was. And when Dixie lost her baby, who knows how she could have spun out?
Babe: Yeah, but four years of spinning? Come on.
Kendall: Doesn't mean she doesn't love J.R.
Babe: And you know that, and I know that, but we both also know J.R., and if he can't trust Dixie, how can he trust me?
Kendall: Can he trust you?
Babe: Kendall, I swear to you, I love J.R. so much, and I will fight to make this marriage work. But the problem is, is that J.R. won't fight, not even for himself or for us. I don't want to lose him, but I don't even know how to save him, either.
Kendall: Well, J.R. is a tough one, I got to say. Love, trust -- all or nothing. Something we have in common. He has pulled me out of some very dark places so many times. So I'll talk to him.
Babe: Would you really? Kendall, if you can get him through this, I'll -- I'll owe you for the rest of my life.
Kendall: I'm doing it for J.R., not you.
Brooke: It's never been easy for you to let Dixie go.
Tad: If she can do it, I can do it. I'll just follow her lead.
Krystal: Well, she did have a four-year head start.
Brooke: What could have happened that made Dixie stay away?
Tad: What if it wasn't a what? What if it was a who? What if she's been in love with some guy for the last few years, and he's waiting for her even as we speak? You know? We find him, we'll find the truth.
Krystal: Are you sure you want to get down to the nitty-gritty?
Tad: You mean, discover that Dixie's been in love for the last five years with a pile of Euro-trash? No. But finding the answer is the only way we're going to get any peace. Right now, I wish I -- to God I had never walked into Hayward's cabin. You know, by now, Dixie would have come and gone. She wouldn't have been a blip on the screen. J.R. would be ok.
Brooke: So would you.
Tad: I'm sick of this. If we find out who Dixie really is, maybe J.R. will be able to let go. We all will.
Brooke: What if the truth just makes everything worse?
[In Fusion's construction zone, J.R. imagines Babe screaming as she's being buried by falling construction material. He then approaches the stack of building material and cuts the strap holding it all together.]
Aidan: Give Jonathan back his phone.
Jack: Aidan, why would I do that? This may be the only link we have to my daughter.
Aidan: Just give it to him. It's for the best.
Jack: Here you go, Jonathan.
Jonathan: Thank you.
Jack: I pay you to know what you're doing.
Jonathan: What? What? Aidan -- Aidan, are you - are you working for him, too. Aidan, that means if you find Lily, you -- you'll tell Jack before you tell me. You'll take her right to him.
Aidan: I'm sorry, Jonathan. I'm just trying to help.
Jonathan: I don't want your help now, Aidan. Jack, Lily's 18. That means that she can do whatever she wants. She's an adult. And she wants to be with me. She really wants to be. I'm going to go find Lily alone without your help, Aidan. And we're going to be together.
[In the big noisy city, sirens blare and horns continue honking as Lily sits
rocking back and forth while holding on to her knees.]
Lily: My plan isn't working. My plan isn't working. My plan isn't working. My plan isn't working.
Tad: The answers we get about Dixie may not be the ones we want, but it can't be any uglier than this. If it helps out J.R., then I'm all for it. So, I'm going to find out every last thing there is to know about the last four years of Dixie Cooney Martin.
Dixie: Congratulations again on getting married.
Zach: Thank you. Where are you going?
Zach: Out? You're not going to tell me what you're going to do, what your plans are?
Dixie: Find your bride. Get started on your honeymoon. Hey, hey, hey!
[Zach grabs Dixie's purse and extracts a gun.]
[When he hears someone approaching the construction area of Fusion, J.R.
assumes it's his wife, and hides behind the scaffolding. After he's pushed all
the heavy material down, J.R. goes back to the other side and is horrified to
find Kendall unconscious under the debris instead of Babe.]
J.R.: Kendall --
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Erica: Don't you come near my daughter, don't you touch her!
Greg: I'm her Ob-Gyn.
Ryan: She fired you.
Greg: Your unborn child is in jeopardy.
Dixie: He has an island? So that he can steal babies?
Zach: Madden thought of everything.
Dixie: You're coming with me.
Zach: No, you're coming with me.
