Erica: Oh, for heaven sakes, Kendall, let me in. It's freezing out there. Bianca!

Bianca: Hi.

Erica: Oh, sweetheart! Oh, I'm so glad to see you.

Bianca: You, too.

Erica: Oh, now we can have a real Christmas, a family celebration. When did you get in? I mean, welcome home, darling!

Bianca: Thank you.

Erica: Where's my Miranda?

Bianca: She is asleep in the bedroom.

Erica: Oh. Ok. Why didn't you come to see me right away?

Bianca: Kendall and I have a lot to catch up on.

Erica: Oh. And you're up to speed?

Bianca: Pretty close, I think.

Erica: Well, wonderful, then. We can all solve your sister's problems together.

Adam: Oh, come on, it has to be later than that. What's keeping the police? I called over an hour ago.

Krystal: More like minutes. It only seems like Little Adamís been gone for a week.

Adam: Well, we don't even know how long he's been gone. We don't know when or if he got out of his crib. Where are Babe and J.R.?

Krystal: Probably out combing the grounds.

Adam: Yeah. Not one sign or clue of my grandson. What is taking them so long?

Krystal: Well, you got more acreage than anybody in the state. This place is supposed to be a home, not a cattle ranch. This is a lot of space for a little boy to get lost in.

Adam: Before your blasted traveling truck stop show, this land kept the riffraff away.

Krystal: Oh, yeah, yeah, right, right. Keep your heir far, far away from people. That's a good idea. Protect your investment.

Adam: He's not an investment. He's not an investment. He's not an heir. He's a little boy. And right now --

Krystal: I'm sorry, I'm sorry. Adam, I just -- I just feel like I'm going to suffocate.

Adam: That's what you deserve. That's exactly what you deserve.

Krystal: What did you say?

Josh: You had better have a good excuse, and getting run over by a reindeer won't cut it.

Amanda: Excuse for what?

Josh: Let's see -- you work for me and you've been gone for how many hours? What'd you do to Babe this time?

Babe: J.R., watch out!

J.R.: What did you do with him?

Ryan: Get off! Come on!

Jonathan: I didn't do anything with him!

Ryan: Easy!

J.R.: You stole my son. Your wack job brother stole my son.

Jonathan: No, I didn't. I wouldn't touch him.

Ryan: Ok, you heard that? You see, he didn't, all right, so get out!

J.R.: Yeah, like hell. At the mall when he was doing his scary Santa act, Jon boy said I didn't deserve to have my son!

Ryan: What?

J.R.: If I don't get my kid in two minutes, Jonathan Lavery's dead. Do you understand me? You're dead. Where is my son?

Jonathan: What happened? When did he disappear?

Babe: He's missing. Little Adam is missing.

J.R.: And we know you took him.

Ryan: You back off. Back off, Chandler.

J.R.: No, you know what? You think you all are just going to get away with this, huh? You're all accessories, every single one of you.

Ryan: Look, I'm telling you right now, we haven't seen him, ok? He's not here right now, but we'd like to help you. You want us to make a phone call? Can call 911, anything.

J.R.: Oh, you think you're all going to get off by volunteering for 911? Think again. We already called the police.

Jonathan: When my dad locked us out, locked me out of the house once when it was cold like this, I wish the police would have found me.

Babe: Ryan, please, just talk to him. Maybe he'll tell you something.

Ryan: I'm talking to him. He said he had nothing to do with this.

Erin: Jonathan did not take your baby.

Jonathan: And why would I take him?

Babe: Because, Jonathan, remember, I got you kicked out of your Santa chair, I recognized you at the mall.

J.R.: We didn't bring my son to the mall to sit on psycho's lap.

Ryan: Just take it easy. I'm telling you right now, I'm telling you Jonathan had nothing to do with this.

J.R.: You've been with him all day since he got back from the mall?

Erin: Since he got back, yeah.

J.R.: And when was that, exactly?

Ryan: I don't -- like an hour ago.

J.R.: Oh, an hour? That's plenty of time for him to break into my house.

Babe: Ok, time-out. Why would you guys be packing?

J.R.: You all trying to make a getaway? Or just the kidnapper? Where'd you stash him, you freak? Is my son outside? Is he freezing to death?

Amanda: Just the way you like it.

Josh: Amanda, you look like you were dragged behind the sleigh as it flew low over the Poconos. Did you and Babe actually duke it out?

Amanda: Stop teasing about Babe.

Josh: I'm not teasing.

Amanda: I haven't seen Babe. I don't want to see her. She's a lying skank. I don't need her brand of hassle.

Josh: Then where have you been all this time?

Amanda: 'Tis the season.

Josh: What is this, a bribe?

Amanda: A gift. I decided to invest some of my newly found salary into Christmas gifts.

Josh: Ok, that's what you do during your lunch hour. You checked out for the whole day. Where were you?

Amanda: I had to shop for you, my parents, and my brother. And finding a suck-up gift for Erica was not easy.

Josh: Well, what did you get her?

Amanda: I haven't found the right thing yet.

Josh: Well, where did you look? I know her tastes better than you do. I can probably help you. Where'd you go? Laceyís? MacGruders? The husky tall shop? Amanda, why won't you tell me where you went for Erica?

Amanda: Because it doesn't matter.

Josh: What, are you embarrassed? You're afraid I'll think you're cheap, that you don't have any taste?

Amanda: I don't know, ok? I don't know.

Josh: You had another black-out, didn't you?

Adam: It was just a year ago that Miranda was taken away from J.R., and then we were told that our little boy was dead.

Krystal: If you think that this is some kind of put-up job --

Adam: No, no, not this time. But then when you arranged to have those DNA results switched so that Babe could take Biancaís daughter, you unloaded a whole lot of pain on all of us.

Krystal: I regret that, and I paid for that.

Adam: Oh, a few months in prison? No, this is your punishment, Krystal. If Little Adam is lost for real --

Krystal: This is not my fault.

Adam: No, it's karma, baby. Payback for past sins.

Krystal: Oh, you are one mean, unforgiving SOB.

Adam: Oh, poor Krystal, poor frightened Krystal. What did you think was going to happen? What, did you think we were going to bond together? Grandparents leaning on each other for strength? Did you think I was going to declare a truce maybe or forgive Babe entirely so she could get her hooks back in Little Adam? Well, this, what you're feeling right now, is why that's never going to happen. So when your hands start to shake and then the bottom falls out of your stomach, you'll feel exactly what I felt last Christmas. That's what you did to me and to J.R. Get used to it, because you'll never forget it. I haven't.

Erica: Miranda is just a vision. I mean, she's just a little angel.

Bianca: Oh, well, maybe when she's asleep.

Erica: And isn't it amazing how much she's starting to look like me? And you. I mean, you are just the most perfect mother, and I always knew you would be.

Bianca: Well, I have my moments.

Erica: Oh, you have that glow about you, that centered core, that aura.

Kendall: Yes, cue the heavenly choir.

Erica: I am serious. Motherhood has just brought reason to your life and meaning, hasn't it, and a lot of focus, hasn't it?

Bianca: You know, I really haven't thought about it.

Erica: Oh, well, you don't have to because, I mean, I can just see it by that glow on that beautiful face of yours. That serenity, that --

Kendall: Je ne sais quoi?

Erica: That strength. And I really think it comes from loving unconditionally, from holding that tiny, pure life in your hands, in your arms. I mean, it just -- it's so grounding, and at the same time, it's just so oddly free.

Kendall: Ok, I get it, Mother. Ease up, please?

Erica: Excuse me?

Kendall: Yes, ok. Perfection and happiness and downright nirvana -- that is motherhood.

Erica: You know, I was merely making an observation as to the beautiful thing that Miranda had done for your sister. I wasn't generalizing.

Bianca: No, no, of course you weren't.

Erica: All right, let's talk about you.

Bianca: What do you think about me?

Erica: Fill us in on your trip. Was it everything you hoped it would be?

Kendall: It was interesting.

Erica: Really? How so? You didn't have any difficulties with your divorce, did you?

Kendall: No, more like surprises.

Erica: Nothing unpleasant, I hope.

Kendall: No. No, not exactly.

Erica: Well, don't keep me in suspense. Tell me, what did you and Ryan decide?

Kendall: How did you know that Ryan showed up?

Erica: Oh, because I ran into him, and he was understandably worried about you, and so we found out where you were --

Kendall: Wait, well, hold on. You sent Ryan after me?

Erica: Sent him? No. Encouraged him? Yes.

Bianca: Oh, Mom, no, you didn't.

Kendall: Oh, you know what? Some things never change. Be glad you live across the ocean instead of across town.

Erica: You know, that's a terrible thing to say. I love you. I want you to be happy.

Kendall: No, you want to control my life.

Erica: No, I don't.

Kendall: So this is --

Erica: That was for you and Ryan to do. You and Ryan were supposed to work this out.

Kendall: Ok, so it's your fault, then, that Ryan showed up and ruined what possibly could have been the most pivotal moment of my life?

Erica: Most pivotal moment of your life? What? What are you talking about? What was going on down there? Zach was there?

Kendall: Why not? It was his divorce, too.

Erica: How great. You and Ryan and Zach -- how cozy.

Kendall: Ryan showed up later.

Erica: How much later?

Kendall: Bianca, do you want a drink?

Bianca: No, that's --

Erica: No, no, she does not want a drink. Why was Zach there? Did he try to convince you to stay married?

Kendall: No, he didn't try to do anything.

Erica: Did he bully you? He's such a bully.

Kendall: No --

Erica: Did he try to intimidate you?

Kendall: He was incredible.

Erica: Oh, even worse. Bianca, I swear, be glad you live in Paris away from this madness. So, tell me, what did incredible Zach do?

Kendall: He tried to make sure I had a nice time.

Erica: Getting a divorce from him?

Bianca: That sounds nice. It sounds refreshing.

Erica: Sounds dangerous.

Kendall: Oh, Mother, stop it. You weren't there.

Erica: Apparently I'm the only person who wasn't there. Oh, no. Oh, Kendall. You didn't tell Zach that you loved him, did you? Ryan showed up in the nick of time, didn't he? Oh. Ok, what can I do? Can I talk to Ryan?

Kendall: No, no.

Erica: Well -- anything. Tell me, anything I can do.

Kendall: You know what you could do, Mother, honestly?

Erica: What? Anything.

Kendall: You can butt out, please. Ryan said he will support whatever decision I make about this baby. I can handle it.

Erica: All right.

Kendall: Yes, thank you. I mean it.

Erica: And naturally, I will respect your wishes. Well, can we at least do something festive to celebrate your divorce? I mean, you are no longer Mrs. Zach Slater, right? So that's cause for celebration.

Kendall: You can field that one. I'll go check on Miranda. See if you can help Mom fix my life.

Erica: What did I say?

Amanda: I was shopping, and I got caught up in it. Time just disappeared.

Josh: Well, what do you actually remember?

Amanda: I was at the mall, and then four hours later, I'm all the way across town near a park.

Josh: Please tell me you delivered those contracts before you hit the mall.

Amanda: Contracts?

Josh: The contracts, Amanda. The reason I sent you out on assignment.

Amanda: Maybe it slipped your mind.

Josh: My mind is not the problem.

Amanda: No, no, see, I would have remembered something important like that. I was fine when I left here.

Josh: Amanda, this is not good. This is so not good. I can run off copies of the contracts, and maybe they won't blame Erica, but you know what --

Amanda: But what, Josh? I'm not fired, am I? You can't fire me, please.

Josh: If I can't trust you to do the simple things, we have a very serious problem here.

Amanda: You can trust me. I won't let you down.

Josh: Amanda, do you or do you not remember what you've been doing for the last four hours?

J.R.: Look, I checked the car and the trunk. There's nothing in there.

Jonathan: The trunk? Why would -- oh, no, that's horrible.

Ryan: It's ok, we know you didn't do anything, Hockett. We know you didn't, all right?

J.R.: You better tell me where you were every second after Santa Land, and you better have proof.

Jonathan: I went to some stores --

Ryan: It's ok. Look, I'm going to ask you some questions now, ok? Was there any sign of breaking and entering?

J.R.: With our house's tunnel system, anybody could get --

Ryan: Tunnel system? He doesn't have a map to your tunnel system, all right? Was there a ransom note?

Babe: No, not yet.

Ryan: Any disturbance at all in the baby's room? Any sign whatsoever that this was a kidnapping?

Erin: No, no, but why not blame Jonathan?

Ryan: Ok, did you talk to Stuart or Marian?

J.R.: Of course we did.

Ryan: Any strangers in the house recently? I don't know, delivery people or caterers or staff? I mean --

J.R.: Well, it's been a redneck open house since your mama --

Babe: No, Mama knew every single person she invited.

J.R.: Yeah, every truck-stop driver in their truck-stop pickup.

Ryan: So, whoa, whoa, whoa. So, plenty of people have had access here, and you have bigger enemies than Jonathan. So if you want my opinion, J.R., you should be asking yourself, which one's Christmas wish is to ruin your lives?

J.R.: There's no sign of Little Adam?

Babe: Nothing at home. Look, Amanda tried to kill me. Why wouldn't she just take our son?

J.R.: If she's that crazy, I'll put her out of her misery.

Babe: Let's go.

J.R.: You go find Amanda. I'm still not convinced Jonathan's innocent. Be careful.

Ryan: J.R., Jonathan can't possibly tell you anything that he doesn't know.

J.R.: You were angry at Babe, but you were mostly angry at me.

Jonathan: Because you were mean.

J.R.: You threatened him.

Jonathan: No, no, I didn't. No, you were being mean to your little boy, and that was bad.

J.R.: You wanted to get back at Babe and me, didn't you?

Jonathan: No. No, I wanted you to be nicer to your little boy. You were ruining his Christmas.

J.R.: Look, I love my son. Just tell me what you did with him. I won't call the police.

Jonathan: I can't tell you, because I didn't take him.

Erin: You're wasting time.

Ryan: Look, J.R., listen, if this isn't a kidnapping, we're losing time here. Every second counts. There's a storm coming, the wind's picking up, the temperature's dropping.

Jonathan: We have to find Little Adam.

J.R.: Well, Little Adam didn't run away.

Ryan: Well, I mean, he's walking now, right? He's walking. Kids like to run around and --

Erin: Yeah, and all it takes is one open door and the kid's halfway down the block.

Jonathan: Let's go.

Ryan: All right.

J.R.: No, not you.

Ryan: Fine, fine, you stay. J.R., come on.

J.R.: All right. Do you have a flashlight?

Erin: Here -- here, here, here.

Ryan: Here it is. It's right here.

Erin: I'll stay with Jonathan.

Ryan: Stay with Jonathan.

Jonathan: That little boy's in a lot of trouble if he's outside.

Erin: Yeah, I'm afraid so.

Jonathan: Please, Erin. Please, can -- please, can I help look for him?

Erin: Just hold on, ok?

[Erin picks up the phone]

Erin: Hi. It's Erin. I need your help.

Erica: I don't need Kendall to thank me. But honestly, she must know that I love her, that I only want what's best for her.

Bianca: Of course she does. We both know how lucky we are to have you in our lives.

Erica: Oh, honey, if only you didn't live so far away in Paris. I mean, I could be so much more helpful to you, too.

Bianca: I know, I know.

Erica: I think I'll explain it to Kendall. Maybe she's ready to listen to me now.

Bianca: Oh, you know what? That's what I'm going to do -- when you go.

Erica: When I go? Honey, what has your sister told you? Are you keeping something from me?

Bianca: No, but I think that she might confide in me if we're alone.

Erica: Well, you haven't seen each other in quite some time. But just be gentle with her, ok? She's extremely hormonal at -- well, you remember what that was like.

Bianca: Yes, I do.

Erica: Yeah. And you do understand the bigger picture, don't you?

Bianca: About Zach and the divorce?

Erica: About Ryan. Ryan and Kendall really need to band together over this precious little life they've created. I mean, that clearly is the one bright spot in all of this.

Bianca: Ok, now that you've explained it to me, I think I understand where you're headed.

Erica: Bianca, I have always thought that Ryan and Kendall were in love with each other, that Ryan is really the love of Kendallís life, and the sooner she accepts that, the sooner she'll be happy.

[Phone rings]

Bianca: You know, I think I can confide in Kendall when you're gone.

Erica: Ok, just hold that thought. Yes? Oh, you're kidding. Well, we already settled that. I am extremely busy.

Bianca: Oh, no, no, no, no. Go, go do what you have to do. I can handle this here, really.

Erica: Ok, ok, I'll be right there. Are you sure?

Bianca: Yes, absolutely. I'll see you tomorrow.

Erica: Ok.

Bianca: Ok.

Erica: With good news, I hope, honey.

Bianca: I will do my level best. Hmm. The coast is clear.

[Knock on door]

Zach: Erica Kane. Come on in.

Erica: Don't be ridiculous.

Zach: It's cold out here.

Erica: Warm it up, make my Christmas. Tell me that your divorce from Kendall is final.

J.R.: Little Adam!

Ryan: Little Adam!

J.R.: It's Daddy!

Ryan: Look, look, look, split up, all right? We can cover twice the area.

J.R.: Yeah, so I can go back to the Pine Cone? Maybe I'll split and go question your little baby brother some more.

Ryan: I thought you got over that.

J.R.: Maybe this is a distraction so he can take off, and maybe he's with your sister right now.

Ryan: What? What, I'm out here, I'm freezing my tail off looking for your kid, and you can't let go of the paranoia?

J.R.: Don't even expect me to believe that you care about my son when you don't even give a damn about your own.

Bianca: Tell me what happened.

Kendall: When?

Bianca: You and Zach, the divorce. Are you or aren't you?

Kendall: Oh, yeah, that. Maybe.

Bianca: Kendall, you went down there to end your marriage.

Kendall: Well, we didn't have a traditional marriage. Why have a traditional divorce?

Bianca: But are you divorced, legally?

Kendall: I left before we filed the papers.

Bianca: So you might still be married? Why didn't you wait around and find out?

Kendall: Ryan busted in. Everything was great before he showed up.

Bianca: You didn't want the divorce, did you?

Kendall: Zach was -- he was wonderful. He was loving, even. I was just about to tell him, and then, boom, Ryan shows up.

Bianca: You were just about to tell him what?

Kendall: How I feel.

Bianca: You're in love with him.

Kendall: Oh, don't say that. Don't say that. That's pathetic. It sounds pathetic.

Bianca: It's wonderful.

Kendall: No, it's not, it's horrible. Zach does not love me back, so I cannot love him, ok? This is not good. I have to stop this, I have to end this, and I will. It'll take time, but I will.

Bianca: Are you sure that Zach doesn't love you back?

Kendall: Yes, I'm -- I'm absolutely certain.

Bianca: He told you that?

Kendall: Just the opposite.

Bianca: He told you that he loves you? Well, then what's the problem?

Kendall: It's a scam, ok? He's playing me to get to Ryan and anyone else he can.

Bianca: And you know this because you overheard him telling someone?

Kendall: No.

Bianca: He didn't tell you this?

Kendall: Well, no, no, of course not.

Bianca: So you read his diary? His mind?

Kendall: Ok, Bianca, this is silly now.

Bianca: No, I know it's -- Kendall, Zach told you that he loves you, and you've written it off because of some insane conspiracy theory that you've invented.

Kendall: Well, it makes sense.

Bianca: What if you're wrong? What if Zach told you the truth?

Zach: What did Kendall tell you about our divorce?

Erica: How dare you chase after my daughter and try to get her to keep you.

Zach: Is that what I did?

Erica: What you did was you waited until she was vulnerable, and then you swooped in and tried to convince her to stay married to you.

Zach: I see. How'd I do?

Erica: Oh, my daughter deserves a much better husband than you.

Zach: I agree. But if you think that I pressured her and she caved, then you don't know either one of us very well.

Erica: Just stay away from Kendall.

Zach: I'm so sorry, poor Erica. You're missing your annual divorce, aren't you? So now you want to live vicariously through mine.

Amanda: Ok, I'm really sorry about the contracts, but it's not like I was going out doing anything to embarrass you or Erica or New Beginnings.

Josh: Prove it.

Amanda: Come on, I'm like Cindy Lou who, stuffed full of goodwill toward my fellow man. That's why I put on this outfit.

Babe: Oh, you raging bitch! You stole my baby!

Amanda: Hey.

Josh: Nothing to embarrass me or Erica?

Amanda: What have you been smoking?

Babe: What'd you do with him? Where is Little Adam, huh, Amanda?

Amanda: How should I know?

Babe: Well, you took him out of the house.

Amanda: Oh, come on, I don't go around borrowing babies. I don't even like babies.

Josh: Hey, hey, Babe --

Babe: I swear, if you have laid one hand on him --

Amanda: You need to back off.

Josh: What happened, Babe?

Babe: My son is missing, and Santa slut here took him.

Amanda: Right. Shh, kid, your old lady's on to me.

Babe: Oh, you think this is funny, that this is some kind of joke?

Josh: Why don't you just tell us what happened.

Babe: Why don't you ask her. She knows.

Amanda: Not really.

Babe: Oh, come on, Amanda. You hate me. You hate J.R. What's the perfect payback? Kidnap our son and skewer us both at once.

Jonathan: It's an awful cold night for a missing boy.

Aidan: Well, I must be honest. I'm surprised you called.

Erin: I'm surprised you agreed.

Aidan: We all want the same thing, though, right?

Jonathan: To protect Little Adam.

Erin: Yeah. And I've had it with everyone blaming Jonathan for everything.

Jonathan: I wish you'd been with me at the mall, Aidan, when I was being Santa.

Aidan: What was Little Adam wearing? Do you remember?

Jonathan: Jeans, I think, and -- and a striped shirt, maybe?

Aidan: And you said he got pretty worked up?

Jonathan: When his mommy recognized me, she got really mean and started yelling really loud. But so did his dad, and Little Adam got really scared, and he almost started to cry.

Aidan: Well, that's too bad.

Jonathan: Yeah, I just think J.R. wasn't thinking what was best for him.

Erin: What are you trying to do?

Aidan: What? Jonathan saw the boy. You and I didn't. Maybe he can help us figure this whole thing out.

Jonathan: Well, I mean, all the kids wanted to see Santa really bad, but Mr. and Mrs. Chandler got really mean.

Aidan: And you didn't like that, huh? She wasn't doing what was best for her little boy, not like what you would do?

Jonathan: No. No, no, no, I'd be nice and play games with him.

Aidan: Well, Jonathan, you have any ideas where we should look for Little Adam, huh?

Erin: That is so low. You can't try to trick him. Jonathan doesn't know where the baby is, because Jonathan didn't take him.

Krystal: Little Adam? Little Adam, can you hear me, honey? Where are you? Honey? Oh, please. Oh, Little Adam -- oh, please, please, God, let him be here. Little Adam? Little Adam! Honey, come on, it's not nice to hide from me. Please come out. Please come out. Please.

Adam: Krystal, I was wrong and cruel to say those things to you. I'm sorry.

Babe: I want minute-by-minute locations of exactly where you were today, and anything that you miss out on, you can explain it to Derek Frye.

Josh: I'll check the police scanner. Maybe Little Adamís already been found.

Amanda: If he's even really missing.

Babe: Excuse me?

Amanda: You keep trying to get me for attempted murder. Why not throw in a kidnapping?

Babe: I wouldn't use my son to get back at you.

Amanda: And I wouldn't take your kid to stick it to you.

Babe: I think you would.

Amanda: Oh, come on. Yeah, what's better than getting smeared with baby spit and dodging projectile barfing? Oh, and, oh, hey, eau de dirty diaper is, like, my favorite perfume.

Babe: You lived at that house, Amanda. You lived there with J.R. You know the layouts of the tunnels. You could have easily gone in and out without anyone noticing.

Amanda: Oh, that goes for a lot of other people, too -- Brooke English, J.R.ís auntie pal Di Henry, and her hunky brother. You harass them lately?

Babe: They don't have any motive, Amanda.

Amanda: Screw the motive, ok? I didn't do it. Good God, what would I do with some lousy kid?

Babe: That's exactly what I want to know.

Erin: Don't try to trick him.

Aidan: You know, sometimes you get more honest answers that way.

Erin: Then maybe I'm wrong about you.

Aidan: Or maybe you're more into protecting your brother than finding Little Adam.

Jonathan: Protect -- protect me from what?

Erin: Don't insult me.

Aidan: Yeah, right back at you.

Jonathan: Would you two wake up -- make up, make up so that we can find Little Adam?

Erin: Right, you're right. All right, let's concentrate on what's important.

Aidan: The truth. I think we're all after the truth, Erin.

Erin: Yeah, only when he tells it, nobody believes him, and this time it's all my fault.

Jonathan: That's because I used to do bad things, Erin, and people still think I will. But you've never done bad things.

Erin: No, no, I should have let Aidan go look for you earlier today. I mean, if he had found you and stayed with you, then nobody could blame you for taking the baby.

Jonathan: It's ok, Erin. We'll find the little boy, and everyone will be happy.

Aidan: Well, that's a good idea, boys and girls, but where are we going to look for him, because the chances are that he's not on the side of this road.

Erin: I don't know. Is there a playground near here somewhere?

Jonathan: I know. I know how to find the baby.

Ryan: Little Adam!

J.R.: Little Adam!

Ryan: Little Adam!

J.R.: A part of you went into that life. That baby that Kendallís carrying is your own. And maybe -- and only you and his mother get to stand by him from birth. You stand up for him and you fight for him and you love him, because he needs you. And then one day you realize how much you need him.

Ryan: You know, you do me a favor. You stop lecturing me, because you don't know what it was like growing up with my family.

J.R.: No, my family's not that much different than yours. My father's power trips -- they were psych-outs, they weren't beat-downs. And my mother -- look, you don't have to pass on the worst part of you. This is a new life. This is a new life, and you get a chance to make it better than your own.

Ryan: Well, you're doing a real good job of that, aren't you?

J.R.: No, no, this baby -- this is a shot for this baby to have a life, for you to do something right for someone else, for him. You could pass on the best part of you. And if he does that same thing, then you can create a chain that's going to last forever. And you'd be an idiot to turn your back on something like that.

Erica: If you wanted this divorce, why did you fly down to the islands with Kendall?

Zach: I needed a rest.

Erica: Oh, and divorce proceedings are so relaxing?

Zach: They can be if they're handled correctly. When you and Jack are ready to call it a day, I'll tell you my secrets.

Erica: You got in Ryan's way, didn't you? Ryan flew down there to work out his future with Kendall.

Zach: Kendall's future and the future of the child is hers. I'm going to honor that. Now, whatever your plans are or Ryan's plans are, I don't care about that. If Kendall and I want to be together, we'll be together. If we want to be apart, we'll be apart. And if she wants to have Ryan's child with or without him, she's going to do it.

Erica: Well, you're right about one thing. This is about Kendall. This is not about you.

Kendall: Zach says what he wants, when he wants, completely for effect. It's not necessarily true. A truthful Zach -- that's an oxymoron.

Bianca: You trusted Zach when you married him.

Kendall: Yes, I trusted him so that he wouldn't fall in love with me, and I wouldn't fall in love with him, so he wouldn't complicate my life.

Bianca: Are you sure that Zach said what he said as part of some power trip involving Ryan?

Kendall: Yes, yes. It's a strategic move.

Bianca: But you really love him.

Kendall: Don't -- don't remind me, please.

Bianca: Have you told him?

Kendall: Oh -- no. God, no. Thank God he doesn't know what a complete fool I am. I tried not to. I don't want to love, I didn't want to love, especially Zach.

Bianca: But you fell for him anyway. That's big, Kendall.

Kendall: Yeah, a big mistake.

Bianca: It happened for a reason. I would tell him, gauge his reaction.

Kendall: No, no. Why would I open myself up for that? That's insane.

Bianca: Kendall, if you fell in love with him against all odds, why couldn't he have fallen in love with you?

Kendall: Bianca, look at my track record. It sucks, I mean, all the way back to Ryan. Then there's Ethan and Greenlee. I started to love Greenlee like a sister, and I'm carrying a child that's supposed to be for her. When people tell you they love you, they lie.

Bianca: No, they don't lie. Sometimes love changes, but it's still worth the risk.

Kendall: Ok, but then, then when Zach finally said, "I love you," when was it? It was when he found out it was my son with Ryan, not Greenlee's. Coincidence? No, I don't think so.

Bianca: Maybe Zach thought it was best to tell you that he loves you when you needed him most.

Kendall: Can we just drop this, please?

Bianca: No. If you don't have the guts to find out if Zach really loves you and it turns out that he does, you pay for that for the rest of your life.

Kendall: Love doesn't work for me. I've accepted that. You should, too.

Bianca: Maybe love doesn't work for you because you're the one who screws it up.

Kendall: I screw it up? Ok, you jet off to the City of Lights for a year, and suddenly you're just the expert on love?

Bianca: You know, love ain't easy, but it's worth it. It's worth the pain and the tears and all the heartache. Zach is a complicated man.

Kendall: Yeah, no joke.

Bianca: But he's a good man. If you love him, why not tell him? I mean, what have you got to lose?

Kendall: My self-respect? My pride?

Bianca: You fell in love with him because of who he is, the way he makes you feel. Don't you think he's got a right to know?

Kendall: Not if he doesn't feel the same way about me.

Bianca: Well, tell him. Maybe you'll find out he does.

Kendall: Ok, just stop. What, are you working for him?

Bianca: No. I'm working for you. Tell him --

Kendall: Oh --

Bianca: Please.

Kendall: Oh, my God, you're worse than Mom. You know that, right?

Bianca: I'll forgive you for that if you tell Zach.

Kendall: Ok! Stop nagging. Maybe I will, ok? I said that I would, and who knows? It might be worth it just to hear the next word that comes out of his mouth.

[Zach knocks on Kendallís door]

Babe: Look, if it's me you're after, J.R., fine. You can poison us, push us down stairs -- knock yourself out.

Amanda: Stop trying to make me look like some demented murderer.

Babe: Please, just leave it between us -- you, me, J.R. Leave Little Adam out of it. He's innocent. Just give him back, Amanda. You give him back, or I swear to you, you won't live to see 2006.

Jamie: Hey -- hey, hey, hey, hey, Babe. Enough. Back off Amanda and leave her alone.

Adam: Little Adam! Can you hear me?

Krystal: Little Adam! Little A --

Adam: Don't worry. We'll find him. He'll be all right.

Krystal: You big faker.

Adam: We'll find him. There's nothing to worry about.

Krystal: You're just as terrified as I am.

Adam: Only a fool wouldn't be concerned.

Krystal: And because you're terrified and you feel powerless, you unleash on whoever's around.

Adam: J.R. wouldn't be able to survive losing Little Adam.

Krystal: J.R.ís not the only one.

J.R.: Little Adam!

Ryan: Little Adam!

J.R.: Son!

Ryan: Little Adam! What -- what, did you hear something?

J.R.: No, no. You know, I'm going to go down that path to the pool. He loves the pool.

Ryan: Ok, I'll come with you.

J.R.: No, that's ok, I got it covered. Look, kids come in the world on their own and they can't do it alone. Someone's got to show them the way, and if they're lost, you got to find them. You're all your son's got. But, hey, you and Kendall got bigger things to do. You know, what the hell. Maybe it'd be better off if your kid wasn't born. Little Adam! Little Adam! It's Daddy! Tell me where you are!

Jonathan: Just drive on some more.

Aidan: In which direction?

Erin: What's your idea? You think you might know where the Chandler boy would go?

Jonathan: Well, who knows everything? God. And when people get lost, who do they ask for help to find their way? We need to go pray and then wait for God to get back to us. Look, right there. No, right there, Aidan. There's one.

Aidan: A church steeple?

Jonathan: We need to go to his house and ask God for help.

[Little Adam talks as he sits amidst the nativity figures]

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Kendall (to Zach): You love, you get hurt. That's just how it works in my world.

Zach (to Kendall): Maybe I can make it easier for you.

Babe (to Bianca): Please don't do this. Please don't be nice to me like this. I feel ashamed after what I did.

Jamie: Just tell me, Amanda, where's the baby?
