J.R.: What the hell? You'd do anything to put this over.

Babe: You think?

J.R.: You played me. Admit it, this is an act. You're not falling in love with me.

Babe: I'm not.

J.R.: It's just a scam.

Babe: It's just one big, hot con.

[Babe and J.R. grab each other and begin kissing passionately.]

Amanda: Mom, let go.

Janet: I have been out of my mind with worry.

Amanda: What are you doing here?

Janet: Where else would I be while you are fighting for your life?

Amanda: How'd you even know I was in the hospital?

Janet: Oh, well, that Anita Santos called. She says you're out of the woods. Is she right? How many?

Amanda: Three, Mom.

Janet: Three!

Amanda: Ugh. Mom -- Mom, I'll be fine.

Janet: Oh, honey. I don't know if I'd lost you -- you're my life. You're my perfect, sweet, little -- oh, I don't think I could live without you.

Ryan: It's a tough question, I know, but you have to be straight with me.

Jonathan: And I am, I am. Did I follow Greenlee and --

Ryan: The night that you came back to Pine Valley, Greenlee came to the motel.

Jonathan: I surprised her.

Ryan: Yes, and then she left.

Jonathan: Mm-hmm.

Ryan: And then Kendall left, remember? Then you left through the bathroom window at the motel.

Jonathan: Remember. I remember. I remember that Greenlee yelled and -- and was scared.

Ryan: Greenlee and Kendall went to The Roadside Bar, Hockett. Did you? There was a fire, Jonathan. Greenlee and Kendall were trapped. Did you set that fire? This is really, really important, Jonathan. You have to tell me the truth. Greenlee and Kendall could've died. Was that because of you?

Greenlee: Throw out all of the traditional baby-name books, because we need a name that sounds like music and means "fate" or "transcendence" or "miracle baby," because that's what this baby is -- the most beautiful baby ever. Kendall? Kendall? Hello? Kendall? Speak. Say something. Kendall?

Kendall: I lied to you, Greenlee.

Greenlee: You lied? You're the one person breathing I trust implicitly.

Kendall: Just forget it. I'm so tired, I don't even know what I'm saying.

Greenlee: Yes, you do.

Kendall: Greenlee, please, honestly, it doesn't matter. It's no big deal.

Greenlee: Come on, Kendall, you want to break another rib to force it out of you?

Kendall: It's Zach. I told you that I don't love him. I mean, why should I? He doesn't even love me. That's why I decided to divorce him. He doesn't care about me. He doesn't even like me. I mean, I could've fried at The Roadside, and did he even bother to come and visit me?

[While Kendall is talking, Greenlee recalls seeing Zach at the hospital after the fire but chooses not to tell her friend.]

Kendall: He hasn't even sent balloons or flowers, not even a card.

Greenlee: Zach doesn't deserve you.

Kendall: So why do I care? Why do I love him?

Ryan: You don't have to be afraid to tell me the truth, Hockett.

Jonathan: There's lots of fires, Ryan, all over. Doesn't mean I started them.

Ryan: But this one -- this one was started by someone knocking over a space heater, same as the fire at Wildwind.

Jonathan: When I -- when I killed Edmund. I didn't want that fire, Ryan, Braden did. Well, that's what I thought and that's what I heard in my head. I mean, I wouldn't do that, Ryan. They cut the bad out and got the tumor out. I wouldn't do that, right? You -- you think -- you think I'd do it again, even after the tumor's been cut out?

Ryan: I just really need you to answer me.

Jonathan: You -- you're like everyone else, Ryan. Ryan, you don't believe me? You still think I'm bad? They slawed my head and -- sawed me open to cut out the bad. Ryan, why would you let them do it if it didn't make me better, Ryan? Why would you let them cut me open? Why didn't you let me die?

[Zach eavesdrops from the shadows.]

Amanda: Now tell me there's not some old nurse staggering around the hospital naked.

Janet: Well, I couldn't just waltz in here looking like me. The last time I was in this place, I was pregnant with you, and I had to break out and do a little favor for Trevor, so I'm trying to blend in.

Amanda: In a retro kind of way.

Janet: Oh, well, just an angel of mercy for my little girl. Oh, you're normal. Thank goodness. Have they been treating you all right? I mean, have there been any, you know, leftover grudges because of me?

Amanda: Mom, everyone's been great.

Janet: Oh, God, I've hardly been able to breathe. I've been so scared. You look -- you look beautiful.

Amanda: Thank you.

Janet: You look wonderful. Trevor and Tim, they send their love. Of course Tim's, you know, up in Alaska, well, somewhere, but we know that he loves us, and your father, he's so busy. It's just --

Amanda: I know it's tough, Mom.

Janet: So I've had a lot of time. I've had a lot of time to sit around and to think about what's really important and what matters, and that's you, Amanda -- you. So I just had to come and offer my care and love and support in person!

Amanda: It's really great of you to come all this way, especially alone.

Janet: Well -- ahem -- uniform nurses are treated very nicely on the airlines.

Amanda: Oh, I bet. But you should've called first.

Janet: Surprise! A call would've spoiled it. Oh! And -- for your collection. I think we should just put her right here, so that she can keep a good eye on my Mandy.

Amanda: Mom, how'd you get out? Did you tell Dad you left?

Janet: You know, your poor father, he had to go all the way to Ireland on a case of his.

Amanda: So you told him?

Janet: Well, and he -- well, it's just killing him that he can't be here himself. But I told him that I would be a good mommy and a daddy. I know, I know, that sounds absolutely ridiculous, but I could try. You know, single parents do it all the time when they have to be a mother and a father to their children.

Jamie: Janet? I mean, Mrs. Dillon?

Janet: Jamie. Jamie! Oh, Jamie. Jamie, Jamie. No wonder my little girl's got color in her cheeks!

Amanda: Mom, chill.

Janet: Well, I know that a near-tragedy, sometimes that's what it takes to reunite young lovers. But bad things, they sometimes happen for a reason, you know, like -- that's "to every --" something, "turn, turn, turn, turn." Well, you know. Anyway, sometimes bad things happen for a reason and bad things have their own season!

Babe: Oh, that was bad. Oh, I shouldn't have. That was really wrong.

J.R.: It doesn't matter. I'm so on to you.

Babe: Oh, God, I shouldn't have let that happen. I shouldn't have.

J.R.: You're wasting your time.

Babe: I am such an idiot. Well, so now you know. Go ahead and hit me with a putdown, see how deep you can cut, J.R., because that's what you do when you get the power -- you attack, and I know I really feel like I just gave you the power.

J.R.: Would you stop stalling? What do you do for an encore?

Babe: The next move is up to you. But I'm sure you already decided how you're going to punish me. Let's see. What would hurt the worst? Well, you've already taken my son from me, and you paid some judge to take my visitation. You could always use the accident against me. Why not, right? Never mind the fact that you were driving when Amanda was hit, and I just took the rap to help you. I mean, go on, J.R., get off on your little revenge trip.

J.R.: Why shouldn't I punish you? You deserve it. You betrayed me. I loved you, and you betrayed me.

Jamie: No, I like white. I was, you know, just wondering.

Janet: Well, what could be more appropriate for a hospital visit and for people with little minds and long memories?

Amanda: Mom's incognito.

Janet: But I didn't need to be, now, did I? And after the joining of the Martin family with the Dillon family, then the past will be buried once and for all.

Jamie: I thought you took care of this.

Janet: And she's going to look angelic all in white --

Amanda: Mom?

Janet: Flowing down the aisle towards you.

Amanda: Mom, there's not going to be any aisles or churches.

Janet: You don't still want to elope, do you?

Jamie: Not a chance of that.

Janet: You know, a civil ceremony at the Valley Inn -- that could be quite lovely. Unless -- oh, do your parents want to open their home? Oh, that would be wonderful!

Jamie: Ok, Janet -- I'm sorry, Mrs. Dillon --

Janet: Call me "Mom." Go ahead, try it out. It'll grow on you.

Jamie: Mrs. Dillon, Amanda and I didn't get back together.

Janet: But you're here. And you do care?

Amanda: Mom, give it up. I mean it.

Janet: You know, that's what's wrong with the world. People give up too easily. I mean, look at you young people. Jamie? I do have some experience with therapists and analysts.

Amanda: Maybe not enough.

Janet: She's just joking. I do know that parental interference is a drag, but, Jamie, I do see, I think, a dose of couples counseling and I see "I dos" and "happily forever after" in your future. I'll get you a referral from one of my doctors.

Jamie: Can you take care of this?

Amanda: I've got it covered.

Jamie: Good. I have some things I have to take care of.

Janet: This is going to work out, don't you worry! I knew it.

Amanda: What?

Janet: Do you want Jamie Martin, yes or no?

Amanda: What I want doesn't matter.

Janet: Don't say that. Don't ever say that. That's like a knife in my heart. Honey, what you want is the only thing that matters.

Amanda: Mom, you can't make someone love you.

Janet: I did. Honey, Trevor didn't give me a tumble for a long time.

Amanda: Mom, it's not the same.

Janet: Close enough. Nothing pays off like perseverance, and aren't you lucky that I am here to coach you.

Amanda: Mom, I can take care of Babe all by myself.

Janet: Babe is in on this?

Amanda: Worse than ever.

Janet: Well, what are you going to do about it?

Amanda: Well, I'd like to throw her down one and never let her out.

Janet: Sweetheart, we do not joke about what I did to your Aunt Natalie.

Amanda: I'm sorry, Mom, I didn't mean to bring it up. It's just she makes me so mad.

Janet: All right, you know, it's taken me a very long time to become the woman that you see sitting here now.

Amanda: I would never hurt your feelings on purpose.

Janet: It's all right. I'm ok now. I'm good. I'm -- I'm good as gold. And that's what matters. You know, all the struggle and the therapists and the analysts and the experimentation with the medications to get the right dosage, the one I'm on now, it's -- it's all been worth it.

Amanda: Good, good. So you're ok, then, to go back again?

Janet: Leave you in your time of need? I'm -- I'm good, honey. I'm strong, I've recovered, I'm capable. I can -- I can pitch in and cheer you on until you get your man back. Now, you tell me, what did Babe do to you this time?

Babe: I did horrible things to you, and I've admitted it, and I've apologized, J.R. Why can't you just let it go?

J.R.: Oh, you and your "poor me, evil J.R. wants revenge, he wants to punish me." You slept with my brother! My brother. How do you ever expect that we could come back from that?

Babe: As I recall, we did.

J.R.: Yeah, until I found out you were married to someone else.

Babe: And I should've told you. That was a really stupid, horrible thing to do, but I was scared I would lose you.

J.R.: Not to mention the letter you wrote me after you kidnapped my son.

Babe: Ok, enough, please, J.R.! If I could take it all back, I would. And I can't make it up to you, because you won't even let me.

J.R.: I was scared, too, Babe, plenty of times. How things were too good to last. But you certainly took care of that, didn't you?

Babe: J.R., please, no.

J.R.: Oh, go to hell. Oh. You already are there.

Babe: I meant what I said. I'm not going to let you drown in booze.

J.R.: Why, because you care so much?

Babe: Because it's not fair to Little Adam, J.R. Together, we created that wonderful little boy upstairs. He's the best part of both of us, and he deserves the best, and I'm not talking about money or ponies or snotty schools. I'm talking about the best of ourselves. He deserves to have you loving and sober, so please stop drinking for Little Adamís sake. Please let him stay here where we can give him some type of home, a family. Don't take Little Adam away from me. Don't take him away from his home.

Janet: If Babe had not interfered, you would be Mrs. James Martin by now.

Amanda: It's ok. Things change. They can change back. Don't get so mad.

Janet: Mad? Who's mad? I'm calm, I'm cool. I'm cool as a cucumber. Look. I'm not upset. All right, so listen, honey, tell me every single one of Babe's transgressions. Do not leave a single one out.

Amanda: Really, that was all. She just talked some trash about me to Jamie. He'll get over it.

Janet: He will. He has to.

Amanda: Don't worry.

Janet: Yeah. Don't worry about me, honey. Mommy's 100%. Where's my mirror?

Amanda: Mom, no, no mirror. Look, why don't we sit and call Dad?

Janet: Don't you get upset, honey. You're still healing. No, I just want to look my best, that's all. You know, I've got my suitcase in the car. I can change on the way.

Amanda: Where?

Janet: I don't know, gas station? It's the least they can do for a $60 fill-up.

Amanda: No, Mom, where are you going?

Janet: To Babe's. Where's the rock that she's hiding under?

Babe: Please, J.R., don't.

J.R.: All right. You get what you want. Now get out.

Babe: That's not all I want. I want my son in Pine Valley.

J.R.: All right, we're not going anywhere!

Babe: You mean it, or is this just for now?

J.R.: Little Adam and I are staying here. But not because of you or what you want. It's for my son.

Babe: When did you decide this?

J.R.: Come on, Babe. Little Adamís been bounced around. He was with the Buchanans. You and Jamie drug him all over the country. It's time for him to stay put.

Babe: I'm glad and grateful. You're putting our son first, J.R. You really are doing the right thing. Thank you.

[Door closes]

Krystal: Hey. I heard J.R. blow up, and then silence. What is he up to now?

Babe: It's happening, Mama. What I planned, what I've been working for? J.R.ís responding. God help me, he's starting to want me again.

Greenlee: There's nothing worse than loving someone who doesn't love you back.

Kendall: I've tried not to love Zach. I've loathed him for ages, but it happened. I couldn't stop it.

Greenlee: I'll help you recover. It's an aberration, hormonal.

Kendall: Yeah, but Zach is --

Greenlee: Zach will screw you up. The Zach Slaters always do. They can't help but crush anyone who cares about them. He'll force you to eventually hate him anyway, so why not hate him now?

Kendall: I -- I have been hating him. But I don't know. I guess I'm just doomed to love Zach.

Greenlee: No, that's not true. Believe me, this will not last. You will get past this. It's like the flu or --

Kendall: Bubonic plague?

Anita: Well, the plague's doubtful, but something's definitely got you down.

Greenlee: Hormonal surge. It'll pass.

Anita: Well, maybe when Zach comes back, your mood will improve.

Kendall: Zach?

Greenlee: Oh, my chest!

Kendall: What do you mean, Zach?

Greenlee: Oh, my God, my ribs, Anita, oh, my God. Oh! Ah!

Anita: What is it? I can help you.

Greenlee: Oh, call Dr. Martin, get Dr. Martin!

Kendall: Wait, Zach didn't come to see me.

Greenlee: Oh!

Anita: Just show me where.

Greenlee: Oh, it's sharp! It's right here and right here.

Kendall: Shut up, Greenlee, shut up! Anita, you saw what?

Anita: Zach. He came to see you yesterday. Why didn't you tell her?

Ryan: Jonathan, you're my brother, and I love you. I wanted you to get well. That's why I Okíd the surgery.

Jonathan: You think I'm still sick inside my head.

Ryan: I just want you to know --

Jonathan: You think I'm stranger -- danger.

Ryan: The night that you sneaked out of the motel --

Jonathan: I had to sneak out, Ryan. You wouldn't let me go.

Ryan: You shouldn't have gone, Hockett. Did you follow Greenlee to The Roadside Bar?

Jonathan: I went to go see Lily, Ryan, Lily Montgomery.

Ryan: I know --

Jonathan: You know I did.

Ryan: I know, what did you before you went to see Lily?

Jonathan: You don't believe me. You don't think I'm good now. You said you did. You said you thought I was good, Ryan, good.

Ryan: Just I need to know where you spent that time.

Jonathan: I -- I don't want to tell you, Ryan. I don't have to tell you.

[As Jonathan gets close to the cell bars, Zach reaches between them and grabs him in a chokehold.]

Zach: Did you start the fire?

Ryan: Hey! Hey! Come on!

Kendall: Leave us alone, Anita.

Anita: Greenlee's ribs --

Kendall: She is faking it. You can go outside, but don't stand too far away. You might have to call for a Code Blue.

Anita: Good luck.

Kendall: Zach came, and you knew. You saw him.

Greenlee: Yes, but --

Kendall: You saw him, and you lied to me.

Greenlee: Technically, yes, but I wanted to save you from pain.

Kendall: You go on and on about how you need complete and total honesty from me, but then you lie to my face over and over?

Greenlee: I love you, and I want what's best for you. Zach will only make you miserable.

Kendall: No, you just want to dictate my life, because I'm carrying this baby.

Greenlee: You're my best friend. I love you. Zach will never love you back.

Kendall: Oh, he told you that? When he came here to see me, he told you that?

Greenlee: No, he's incapable of love. He's only going to hurt you.

Kendall: Oh, my God. It was real. I wasn't just delirious. Zach came to see me, and he said it. I think he said he loved me.

Greenlee: No, no, no way. That was delirium. That was just in your dreams.

Kendall: Oh, yeah? We'll see about that.

Ryan: Guard!

Jonathan: Please don't!

Ryan: Guard, get in here!

Guard: Get off him, Slater!

Ryan: What is this?

Zach: I'm not through with you, Lavery.

Ryan: He attacked my brother. You saw what he did.

Guard: I saw. You're out of here.

Ryan: Get out!

[Jonathan mumbles]

Ryan: You all right? No, no, no, it's ok, it's ok.

Jonathan: You don't think I'm better -- better, better. You don't -- you don't think I'm good.

Ryan: You're not answering my question, Hockett. What am I supposed to think?

Jonathan: That I had a secret that I don't want you to know, Ryan.

Ryan: Well, I have to know. I have to know what you did that night.

Jonathan: Ryan, this new liar -- new fire? I didn't light it. I -- I didn't start no fire, Ryan, at a bar or anywhere else.

Ryan: Where were you that night?

Jonathan: I swear, Ryan. Cross my heart. I swear on my love for you as my brother, Ryan, that I didn't start the fire. Ryan, I need you to believe me.

Ryan: I believe you.

Jonathan: Thank -- thank you, Ryan.

Ryan: It's ok. It's ok.

Jonathan: I'm sorry Greenlee and Kendall were trapped. They must have been scared.

Ryan: Everybody's going to be ok. Looks like -- it looks like I got to go.

Jonathan: Ryan? You believe me, but they don't, and nobody else is going to stop, Ryan, until they punish me.

Ryan: Stay strong.

Jonathan: I'll try. I'll try, Ryan.

Amanda: Mom, you don't need to get involved in this. Babe won round 1, but in round 2, the tramp's going down for the count.

Janet: But if I could just talk to her --

Amanda: Mom, I love you very much, but you can't.

Janet: You are my life. And my little girl is unhappy.

Amanda: Temporarily. I'll fix it. I'll be happy again.

Janet: Do you know what would both make us really happy?

Amanda: What?

Janet: You and me at home, a day at the beauty spa.

[Amanda laughs]

Janet: You know, I miss my little girl.

Amanda: I miss you, too, Mom.

Janet: Do something about it. Come home. Your room is exactly the way you left it.

Amanda: I'd be going back, and I want to go forward. Mom, I want to be independent, an adult.

Janet: Being an adult is difficult and lonely.

Amanda: Mom --

Janet: If it weren't for your father. And he is so busy all the time. You know, I thought that I would be able to go back and get a job at the library or accounting, but nobody wants me. Did you think that it was going to be a hardship on me to have you at home? Honey, it would be a joy! Do you know what I do almost every -- all right, every night? I set an extra place at dinner, and I make extra food so that if it works, if it works and I've wished you back that there's going to be plenty of food to go around.

Babe: Mom, you shouldn't do that.

Janet: Why not? Trevor loves leftovers, and you should know that I make enough food to go around just in case you were to bring somebody home with you. And -- not even your father knows this. And every night on my way to bed, I go into your room, and I turn your bed down and I -- I kiss you good night, and I pretend that I'm going to see you in the morning.

Amanda: I call as often as I can.

Janet: Honey, you do, you call every day. I keep track. I live for your calls. You know, your father even fixed it, so that I could tape them.

Amanda: You have tapes of everything we talk about?

Janet: Nothing bad. But that way, when I'm sad or, you know, lonely or missing you -- which is almost all the time -- but it's the worst at night because I can't sleep. I can't go to sleep! But that's ok, because then I can go, and I put the tape in the machine, and I put the headphones on and then I can hear your voice. You say, "Hello?" And you tell me all the things that you're doing and how much fun you're having, and it helps. Not always, but sometimes it helps.

Babe: I told J.R. that I was falling in love with him.

Krystal: And he bought it?

Babe: Not at all at first, but he needed proof, so he tested me --

Krystal: Oh, oh, now you're making me nervous. What kind of tests?

Babe: He kissed me, and I wasn't angry at all. It was -- it was like back in San Diego.

Krystal: And that means what?

Babe: That J.R. can have feelings for me even after all that hate. And he's not leaving town, Mama, he's staying, which means my little boy's staying up in his room.

Krystal: Well, that's great. That's great as far as Little A is concerned, but I'll rest a lot easier if J.R. is a few thousand miles away.

Babe: And I can handle J.R.

Krystal: For how long, honey? He gets a whiff that you're shining him on --

Babe: He won't.

Krystal: Oh, oh, my God, no. Tell me I've lost my mind. You're -- you're not falling for him, too?

J.R.: Study break.

Jamie: Hey!

J.R.: Ew. Can't be that interesting.

Jamie: It's the latest in heart transplant techniques, just in case you decide you want a heart someday.

J.R.: Look, Babe's coming on to me, and you're going to tell me why.

Babe: How -- me fall back in love with J.R.? How could you really accuse me of something so crazy?

Krystal: Because as low and disgusting and terrible as J.R. is, he is still a hottie.

Babe: And he does give quality make-out time, but it does not mean anything.

Krystal: Mm-hmm. Even though he's got that dangerous edge, that bad-boy mojo going on? Honey, you fight that as hard as you want. Sometimes you just can't win.

Babe: I can handle J.R.

Krystal: Honey, he is teetering on the edge. Anything can throw him over -- love, hate, somebody cutting him off on the highway. He is primed to go postal.

Babe: That's exactly why I can't back off. Who's in his line of fire? Little Adam.

Krystal: And you.

Babe: I don't really have a choice here. I've got to protect my son from his father.

Krystal: And where was Big Daddy headed when he left?

Babe: J.R.ís freaked out. He's somewhere where he can sort out his feelings for me, hoping he can squash the love and get back to pure hate.

J.R.: All right, so what's up with Babe?

Jamie: How should I know? And if you don't want Babe, what's the problem?

J.R.: Hey, when she staged that big slut show with Josh, so that you would dump her, you knew it was an act.

Jamie: I don't have time for this.

J.R.: There's one talent that I know that you have and that's seeing through Babe. She makes a move, you're one step ahead of her, and whatever mind she's got, you can read it. So tell me, is she really coming on to me, or is this just one big setup?

Janet: Honey, you can be independent and still live with us.

Amanda: No, Mom! No. I can't transfer, and I can't live with you. I need to be on my own.

Janet: But -- you need me, don't you?

Amanda: Mom, I'm always going to need you. But, look, I overreacted about this Babe and Jamie business. I shouldn't have worried you.

Janet: Honey, I came because you almost died.

Amanda: Mom, the accident, it wasn't that serious, honest. I'm going to be fine in every way. Mom, you need to go home.

Janet: I need to stay here and be with you. I need to help you. I need to make you grilled cheese sandwiches with tomatoes on whole wheat bread with the crusts cut off, and then I can run your errands, and I can --

Amanda: Mom, it's really sweet, it really is. And if we were anywhere but Pine Valley, I might accept that, but --

Janet: But that's just it -- I know Pine Valley. Where else could I be such a help to you?

Amanda: Mom, it is full of bad memories.

Janet: But I can be very discreet, almost invisible.

Amanda: Mom, you have to go. I am sorry, but it is what's best for both of us. You know I'm right.

Janet: You're right. I'll go.

Amanda: Thank you.

Janet: How can anybody not love you? You are the brightest star in my universe. You are the reason I was put on this planet. Oh. Planet.

Amanda: Come here. I'll keep calling every day.

Janet: I'm going to live to hear your voice.

Janet: Ahem.

Zach: Glad you could make it.

Ryan: You touch my brother again, and I will cut your hands off and shove them --

Zach: Whoa, whoa, how's that anger thing coming?

Ryan: Jonathan is not responsible.

Zach: For what, the murders or the fires?

Ryan: He did not set the other fire in the bar.

Zach: Ok, good, good, good. If you can get him off, you, your sister, and your brother can fly back to wherever you came from, because then everyone here can live their lives safely.

Ryan: You don't have any say at all about what we do or where we go -- none.

Zach: If he gets within 100 feet of Kendall, I swear --

Ryan: Ok, stop, stop, using Kendall as an excuse to mess with Jonathan, ok, because you don't care about her. You don't care about anyone but yourself.

Zach: Sorry. If you get him off, get him out of here fast.

Ryan: You see, I do. I care about Kendall and Greenlee and the baby that Kendall is carrying. So go back to Vegas, because nobody's going to miss you here, man, certainly not Kendall.

Zach: You don't know anything about Kendall.

Ryan: Well, I know that she's carrying my child, which means I want what's best for her, which means you gone. I mean, there's really nothing left for you here -- nothing -- no friends, no family, and don't say Ethan or Kendall, ok, please because they're better off without you. You know that, I know that. That's why Kendallís filing for divorce. She wants you gone.

Kendall: No, no, I'm calling Zach.

Greenlee: Don't embarrass yourself.

Kendall: He said he loved me.

Greenlee: Even if he said it, he can't love anyone. He doesn't even know what it means.

Kendall: You don't even know. You're jealous.

Greenlee: Of you and Zach?

Kendall: Yeah, you want to mess up things with me and Zach, because you're screwing up stuff with Ryan. You don't want me to be happy.

Greenlee: I do. That's why I don't want you to do this. I'm trying to protect you.

Kendall: Yeah, well, don't. Butt out unless you want this friendship to be over. Is that what you want?

Greenlee: No, I don't. You want to open up yourself, let Zach hurt you? I can't watch.

[Phone rings]

Zach: Hello?

Jamie: All right, well, consider me punked, and I'm going to get back to work.

J.R.: All right, listen, you can see through Babe. Just tell me what you think.

Jamie: What do you care?

J.R.: Look, Hayward warned me that Babe was trying to trap me into remarrying her. He labeled you the source, but I'm sure you wouldn't cop to it.

Jamie: I really don't care what Babe does anymore.

J.R.: It's not just her and me. Our son's in the mix. Look, you're the good brother, the truth-speaker, so speak it. Is Babe just conning me to get close to Little Adam?

Babe: I'll be careful with J.R.

Krystal: You'd better, like you are juggling razor blades, because he is not through testing you.

Babe: I can handle anything J.R. throws my way.

[Doorbell rings]

Babe: J.R.ís messed up, but he's not some completely evil psychotic without any conscience.

Janet: You are so pretty and you're so sweet-looking. You must be Babe.

[In the hospital hallway, Greenlee gasps as a pain in her ribs doubles her over, but Ryan is there to offer his hand in support.]

[Knock on door]

Zach: You wanted me?

Kendall: Yes. I want you.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Janet (to J.R.): Are you calling my daughter a liar?

J.R.: She prefers it to "crazy."

Zach (to Kendall): What did you hear me say?

Kendall: I'm not sure, but if you say it again, maybe I'll remember.

Greenlee (to Ryan): What if I did take you back?

Ryan: Whatever the terms, I'm there.
