Greenlee: What happened?

Ryan: Oh, nothing much. They're releasing me any second.

Greenlee: On an unsuspecting world. And, you, Kendall, why would you visit him?

Kendall: Because I'm glad he's still alive. And since you're here, you must be, too.

Amanda: Mom, I know you really want to be there, but eloping is super romantic. Don't worry, I'll have someone take lots of pictures. Mom, I'm fine. It's just a cold. I love you, too. And just think, the next time I call, I'm going to be Mrs. Jamie Martin. Bye.

Babe: Mind if I join you?

Jamie: Well, you're here. Must have a reason.

J.R.: Skip it. Well, this is an upgrade from the garage, but I bet you only still stock beer. How predictable.

[While Tad plays his drums, someone knocks repeatedly on the door.]

Tad: I'll try to keep it under control. Hey.

Brooke: As if I didn't know you better than that.

Tad: I thought you were the neighbors coming to complain.

Brooke: Oh.

Tad: Nice, huh?

Brooke: Yee. You were bashing them pretty hard. I was just wondering, which one has Di Henry's face on it?

Di: Thanks for your hospitality. Somehow I always manage to end up in some pretty fancy hideout places, huh?

Julia: Where you headed?

Di: I thought I'd head to the bus station, pick out a dart, throw it at the departure board, see --

Julia: Coward. If you run now, you don't deserve the life you stole.

Di: I'm a coward for leaving? You said it yourself, Julia. I stole Dixie’s life. I mean, no one wants me here. I have to leave.

Julia: "No one wants me here." What happened to the woman who saved my life in New York?

Di: That was an entirely different situation.

Julia: She had courage. She put her life on the line for me. Aren't you worth as much?

Di: If you take a poll --

Julia: Who cares what anyone else thinks? Stand up for yourself. I fought for years to get my life back.

Di: Your life, Julia. Your life, not someone else's. My own life was never worth a bucket of spit.

Julia: Oh. You know, get over it. Those chapters are done. Start a new life for yourself here, where there are people who matter to you. For God's sake, Di, the man you love is maybe a mile and a half from here.

Brooke: So how are you, really?

Tad: I'm a beginner, but I generally pick things up pretty quickly. Most things, anyway.

Brooke: Uh-huh. Is this helping you get over Di Henry's latest ambush?

Tad: No. Music is my life.

Brooke: Tad, come on, I know you're in pain.

Tad: No, I'm not. Look -- earplugs.

Brooke: Oh --

Tad: Yep, I'm here till Wednesday. Remember to tip your waiters and stay away from the veal.

Brooke: Stop it.

Tad: "Stop it"? What do you mean, "stop it"? This is how I'm dealing with it. You know, these are the jokes --

Brooke: Listen to me. You know, if I'm going to come over here to talk you -- and risk my eardrums -- and risk my eardrums -- will you stop it?

Tad: Something about drums?

Brooke: I mean it.

Tad: I can tell you play.

Brooke: I do. I mean it. I am not kidding!

[When Tad won't stop banging on the drums, Brooke puts a stick through one of them.]

Di: Tad isn't an option.

Julia: No. If you run away, he isn't.

Di: I don't want to hurt him any more, or J.R. I mean, you know, it's -- it's best if I leave.

Julia: No, it's just the easiest way out of the mess you've created. Their lives were better with you in it.

Di: No. Their lives were better when they thought Dixie was part of it.

Julia: You love J.R. You tried to make a better person of him.

Di: Yeah, well, I ended up doing more harm than good, didn't I? I mean, God knows what he's doing now, where he is.

Julia: Well, the last time I saw him, he was trying to bash in Ryan Lavery's skull.

Di: Good God.

Julia: Oh, don't worry, I stopped him before he could commit a felony. But there -- that's his life without you in it. Why don't you do something about it? Why don't you unpack that bag and go find J.R. and talk to him?

Di: I'll just add to his misery.

Julia: Or maybe you could help him through it. Di, there's only one way to find out. J.R. and Tad aren't going to give you an engraved invitation back into their lives.

Di: Oh, what? So I just force my way back in?

Julia: If they're worth it, then fight for them. And you can stay here while you do it. But if you want to run for the bus, it's been a disappointment knowing you.

Di: Julia, they hate me.

Julia: They don't know you. They know Dixie. Why don't you stick around, show them who Di Henry really is?

Jamie: Oh, yeah, Ryan's ok. I mean, I knew it was eating at you, so I called the hospital first thing. There's no complications.

J.R.: Did you think there would be?

Jamie: You smashed him up pretty good.

J.R.: Well, he deserved it -- and some.

Jamie: That make you feel good, sucker-punching Ryan?

J.R.: Made me feel great, but I didn't sucker-punch him. The sucker wouldn't fight back.

Jamie: I can understand the urge to pound something.

J.R.: Are you considering violence? Do I know the target?

Jamie: Really well. But it's against the rules. She's a woman.

J.R.: Oh, forget the rules. Di Henry doesn't play by any.

Jamie: What are you going to do about her?

J.R.: Hmm. You know, with all the money that you have, you buy this rank brew? Ah, life's too short to drink bad booze.

Jamie: You didn't come here just to insult my beer. And with that, you didn't even need to come in for a drink.

J.R.: Uh-oh. I feel a diagnosis coming on.

Jamie: You came here because, thanks to Di, we're in it up to our necks. So, do we dig ourselves in deeper, or do we help each other dig out?

Babe: Shopping for your new life with Jamie’s money?

Amanda: Shopping for Jamie and his new life. You know, if I let him, he'd just wander the hospital in the same rags he wore when he was with you.

Babe: Oh, you two are tighter than I thought.

Amanda: We're happy. And do you know the thing you used to pretend to have with Jamie -- love? The real thing's amazing.

Babe: What's Jamie’s take on your relationship?

Amanda: Hmm. Well, you can ask him if you want, but what part of "stay out of our lives" didn't you understand at the bank? Because I thought Jamie was pretty clear.

Babe: You're right. I wouldn't want to tick off Jamie. Besides, it's not like I care what you do anyway. Oh -- have fun.

Amanda: No problema.

Greenlee: So I'll pack up your stuff and ship it wherever you want.

Kendall: You didn't come here just to tell Ryan that.

Greenlee: I bought a new fall wardrobe. I need the extra closet space.

Kendall: Stop it, Greenlee.

Greenlee: Butt out, Kendall.

Ryan: I can pick up my stuff.

Greenlee: It's a lot to drive around the country, but I guess you can put it in storage until you settle down somewhere.

Ryan: I'm not leaving Pine Valley, not yet at least.

Greenlee: There's nothing to keep you here.

Ryan: You and I have more to talk about, Greenlee. There's more you need to know.

Greenlee: I have all the information I need.

Kendall: You two really should sit here and try to work things out, at least decide how to get through this.

Greenlee: I already have the answer to that.

Kendall: You don't have to go one on one. I'll stick around.

Ryan: Thank you, Kendall, but not necessary.

Greenlee: For once I agree. I don't need a chaperone.

Kendall: No, it'll be a mediator for moral support.

Greenlee: Or a human polygraph? The trouble is you can't tell when he's lying anymore. Nobody can. And I don't want to be around someone that I can't trust.

Livia: Hi, Ryan, ladies. Did you want to go over this here or in my office?

Greenlee: Go over what? Why do you need a lawyer?

Ryan: Hey, Livia, will you just give me a second? I have to talk to my wife first.

Kendall: No, no, Ryan, we know how much lawyers cost. We'll get out of your way now.

Greenlee: Have you been charged with a crime?

Ryan: No, I haven't.

Kendall: No, it's just this is not your average, normal return to town.

Greenlee: Well, no kidding, but retaining an attorney? You're either paranoid or hiding something.

Livia: Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but you want to head off anything before it starts up, yes?

Ryan: Right.

Greenlee: Like what, exactly?

Livia: Well, for example, your husband's insurance company. Any death-benefit claims that were due to you --

Greenlee: Ask my father, I didn't look into it. I didn't want to believe he was dead.

Livia: Well, still, we'd like to head off the appearance of any wrongdoing on his part.

Greenlee: Nothing that heinous. I'll tell anyone you ask that Ry didn't die for money, he did it to get away from me.

Ryan: Stop it, Greenlee.

Greenlee: You didn't trust me.

Ryan: I didn't trust myself and something changed that, and you have to hear what that is.

Kendall: Ok, Greenlee, let's get out of here now, all right? We're going to leave now. Come on.

Greenlee: Fine by me.

Kendall: Come on.

Greenlee: Feel free to call me anytime, Livia.

Livia: So who's this felon you want to bring in that Greenlee doesn't know anything about?

Ryan: My dead brother Jonathan.

Greenlee: Stop, hold up.

Kendall: Where are you parked?

Greenlee: You swore you wouldn't say anything, you took an oath.

Kendall: I am carrying Ryan's baby. I had to find out how he felt about it, and now I know.

Tad: Well, you definitely got my attention.

Brooke: I want to talk with you, not at you. You know, there's -- there's the subject of Di Henry and your life since her big reveal and J.R. and Jamie’s lives and your ravaged hearts.

Tad: "My ravaged heart" -- sounds like a great title for my first album.

[Tad plays drums]

Tad: Oh, all right, whatever. You're actually the perfect person for me to talk to, because with the whole editing thing, you might want to put on your thinking cap and give me some ideas for this whole online dating thing I'm composing.

Brooke: I thought we were making some progress. You're not seriously --

Tad: Anywhere from here is up, so check it out. "Sophisticated, experienced --" shut up -- "self-employed male, lives alone in love nest with wicked sense of humor, seeks independent woman unencumbered by aliases, preferably not back from the dead."

Brooke: Been giving this a lot of thought?

Tad: Oh, yeah. So you want to help me punch it up?

Brooke: You don't need me.

Tad: Are you kidding? My approval rating with your sex is at an all-time low, hence, the drums. I understand drummers are really sexy, like, me Tommy Lee, you Pamela?

Brooke: Oh, behave.

Tad: We can make our own video.

Brooke: You know what? Get yourself together, you animal, or I will hurt you.

Tad: You're not supposed to hurt me. You're supposed to heal me by giving me the benefit of all your love and patience and wisdom.

Brooke: You know what? You're impossible.

Tad: No. Right now I'm entirely possible.

Brooke: Yeah, I'm going to come back on a day when you're more manageable.

Tad: You could always try to tame me, Babe.

Brooke: Ah. Yeah, but then I'd have to go into training first. Oh, sorry. Maybe not.

David: Tell me, Martin, are there any women in Pine Valley who aren't running from you?

Jamie: What's in store for Di?

J.R.: I have trouble planning my next meal. Too many distractions. Chandler Enterprises is half Krystal's, Little Adam’s half Babe's, and the woman who I thought was my mother is my mom's half sister. The only thing I can be 100% sure of is that my mother is dead.

Jamie: Hey, if you want to take your mind off of everything, I can get you a job as an orderly.

J.R.: I think I'll get my head on straight without pushing around bedpans. But when the time comes to deal with Di Henry, you want in on the fun?

[Knock on door]

Jamie: Hold that thought.

Di: Jamie. I need you to know how truly sorry I am --

Jamie: You shouldn't have come here.

Di: And I was hoping that you would help me make this up to you and -- and to J.R.

J.R.: Hi, Di. Welcome to hell.

Amanda: You have great stuff.

Clerk: Well, another 100 will get you 18-karat gold.

Amanda: Oh, you know, I deserve it, but I have to save this for the most important part of the wedding.

Clerk: The honeymoon?

Amanda: Oh, more like a very special rehearsal dinner. Thank you.

Clerk: Sure.

Babe: Hey.

Clerk: Hey.

Babe: I'm looking for something very special.

Clerk: Well, you've come to the right place.

Babe: The girl that was just here? Her brother and I date, and her birthday's coming up, and I know Brian would really love to buy her something to match whatever she just bought. Would you mind showing me?

Clerk: Sure. Maybe you should think toaster or blender.

Babe: Yeah. Thanks.

[Babe is stunned when the clerk shows her matching wedding bands.]

Babe: Brooke, you have to do something. You can't let Jamie marry Amanda.

Jamie: You should go now.

J.R.: Why? It's perfect timing. So, Di, you thought you could come over and enlist Jamie to grease me? Why is that?

Di: No, no, it's not a plot to take you in --

Jamie: That would never have happened.

J.R.: No, she came over to get your help to get to me. Did you realize that she was a fake all along?

Jamie: No, if I had, I --

Di: He didn't know a thing, J.R.

J.R.: All along, the hard sell was "be kind to Babe, be kinder to Jamie." Whose benefit was that for?

Di: Yours mostly.

J.R.: Oh, wrong. It was for Babe and Jamie, so they could get access to my kid.

Jamie: That is pure crap, and you know it.

J.R.: Hmm.

Di: And you know better than this, too. Drugs got you in trouble when you were a kid. Alcohol's not going to do anything for you now.

J.R.: Oh, Auntie Di, you're so strong and caring. You think my mother would have said the same thing if she was here right now?

Di: As a matter of fact, yes.

J.R.: No, wrong again. I think my mother would want her half sister to be punished for what she'd done.

Di: Maybe she would.

J.R.: Yeah. You thought you knew me, right? Tried to figure out what's going on inside my head? Tell me, since you know so much, what's my next move? Am I going to send you back to prison or not?

David: What, did you hear from a music critic? Wow. Your PI business is just booming, huh?

Tad: Sorry, did somebody actually invite you in here?

David: I want to hire you -- to track down more of Dixie’s half sisters.

Tad: What's the punch line?

David: Di turned out to be a veritable gold mine for me. Pretty much everyone who ever gave me trouble in this town is totally screwed up, thanks to her.

Tad: So you think it's a good idea to import another two-faced, down-home Elly May?

David: No. I want to give back. I mean, come on, they breed like minks down in those "hollers." I mean, hey, you could find another semi Dixie for you, me, Adam. Hey -- we could all marry one.

Tad: It's amazing. Christmas isn't for months, and you're already in the spirit.

David: You know something? You could turn up more Henry and Cooney mommies to put one in every kid's stocking -- well, Jamie and J.R.’s, at least.

Tad: I got the perfect gift for you, too.

Mateo's voice: And my father never had a meal before saying a prayer. So I think in honor of him, we should thank God. I'd like to lead us in prayer, ok? Lord, thank you for this food, and thank you for each other and knowing that together there's nothing we can't overcome.

Noah's voice: We got a little work to do, huh? I swear, you can make the place look like home. You got any ideas?

Julia's voice: Oh, I got plenty of ideas. Yeah, I think I'll put the couch, you know, and -- some bookcases would be great. And a big table for big family dinners.

Edmund's voice: Oh, well, listen, I was going to wait till tomorrow to give you this, but -- Merry Christmas.

Maria's voice: And happy honeymoon.

Julia's voice: What? What?

[Laughter]

Julia's voice: Airline tickets? And a suite reserved in our name at the Crown Empress Hotel in Saint Bart’s? You guys are too much!

Noah's voice: Edmund -- Edmund, we cannot accept this.

Edmund's voice: You can and you will.

Maria's voice: I think you sort of deserve it. I mean, think, a little paradise after what you guys have been through.

Julia's voice: I could just curl up and die.

Edmund's voice: Hey, hey, hey. Don't you talk like that. You never, never, never say "die." You didn't survive last year just to die of a broken heart, did you? You're made of stronger stuff.

Julia's voice: I fought for years to get my life back.

Julia: Get my life back.

Ryan: Will you represent Jonathan?

Livia: But what you really want to know is, can I get him off?

Ryan: Well, that, too, yeah. Look, I want you, but if you have reservations, I will find somebody else.

Livia: I'm not refusing. I'm thinking. Dr. Marquay says the tumor was removed in its entirety?

Ryan: Completely gone, and he said that that's what caused Jonathan to behave the way he did. Well, that and the fact that he was taking antipsychotics when he shouldn't have been.

Livia: Yeah, that's easy to say. It's much more difficult to prove. I would need all of the medical records certified, expressed from Canada.

Ryan: I'll get on it right away.

Livia: Will Jonathan surrender to the authorities?

Ryan: He will if I tell him to. But he can get out on bail, right?

Livia: Oh -- possibly.

Ryan: It's just that I'm not sure how well he will do in prison. He's still relearning everything since the surgery, and he might say or do the wrong thing, set somebody off, and not get out alive.

Livia: You know, I will do the best I can. It's not a guarantee.

Ryan: But you have to make them understand the tumor, the way it made his brain -- it wasn't his fault, the things that he did.

Livia: That doesn't mean that he gets to settle down to the good life in a community where he committed the crimes. There are people he hurt. The families of the people that he killed and victimized are not going to be so easy to forgive -- Jackson and Greenlee to name just two.

Ryan: I was just about to tell Greenlee that he's alive and that he's coming back --

Livia: You -- you don't want to do that.

Greenlee: You took an oath, a solemn vow not to tell Ryan about this baby.

Kendall: See, you made all these assumptions about how Ryan would feel about being a father. Well, I took it upon myself to find out the truth.

Greenlee: You told him. You sold me out, and you told him about the baby. You knew that's not what I wanted.

Kendall: Shut up, shut up. I did not tell Ryan.

Greenlee: If Ryan suspects, if you even hinted at it --

Kendall: No, I didn't, he doesn't.

Greenlee: Well, he better not, because he's proved he's lousy father material -- even if he wanted to be a father, which he doesn't.

Kendall: How do you know that, Greenlee? He loves you, and you love him.

Greenlee: But this is my call, Kendall. Mine. He didn't trust me enough to be completely and totally honest with me. There are some things that are beyond forgiving.

Kendall: Well, then how do you live with yourself and what you're doing to Ryan?

Greenlee: Excuse me?

Kendall: Ryan kept a huge secret from you, but what are you doing to him? You've got a huge secret of your own, and you're looking at it. So, please, Greenlee, just prove that you're the queen of truth. Let's go in there right now and tell Ryan about the baby.

Greenlee: I'm not even talking to Ryan anymore. I'm sure as hell not going to tell him about the baby.

Kendall: Ok, well, when my belly starts to balloon out, what are you going to tell him?

Greenlee: Ryan will be long gong before you start to show.

Kendall: Yeah, well, what if he doesn't leave? I mean, what if you can't drive him away?

Greenlee: Well, if you butt out, I can manage.

Kendall: Fine. This is me butting out.

Greenlee: You said you found out how Ryan felt about being a dad.

Kendall: I asked him if he would have come back if you hadn't miscarried.

Greenlee: And? He said?

Kendall: So you do want to know?

Greenlee: Tell me.

Kendall: Greenlee, it doesn't matter to him anymore. He loves you, he wants you to be happy, he wants the world for you -- those are his exact words. He wants whatever you want when you want. But you want his head on a platter as a punishment for every man that lies. I mean, am I the only one here who wants our baby to have a perfect, happy family?

Greenlee: He or she already has that.

Kendall: Come on, Greenlee, you used to put your heart out there and swing at it with the greatest of ease. Come on, quit playing it safe. Swing out to Ryan. He will catch you. I know he will.

Greenlee: You think he's changed? Why? What's caused this big transformation?

Livia: Until we have Jonathan's medical records, and he's surrendered to the authorities, I don't want to breathe a word of this to anyone.

Ryan: But Greenlee deserves to know.

Livia: And Greenlee will tell Jackson, and Jack will scream for Jonathan's head on a platter. Can you give me time to work something out with the DA first?

Ryan: I told Kendall.

Livia: Oh -- Kendall just left with Greenlee.

Ryan: Yes, but she won't tell Greenlee. She thinks that she's going to have to worry about -- with me coming back that, you know, telling her about Jonathan would overload her.

Livia: Look, when we are ready to go public, you can tell Greenlee first.

Brooke: Jamie and Amanda are dating. I'm not thrilled, but marriage? That's not happening.

Babe: Amanda just bought matching wedding bands right there. Why would I lie? Ask the salesperson.

Brooke: Well, I don't know. Maybe she and Amanda are friends, and they're playing a joke on you. How's that?

Babe: Brooke, Amanda would ruin Jamie’s life. This is your son, the one you supposedly love.

Brooke: Huh. You are too much. You really are.

Babe: I would talk to him, but he'd freeze me out.

Brooke: Yeah, and I wonder why.

Babe: But if you talk to him, he'll listen.

Brooke: You know what? You turned Jamie’s heart inside out. He almost went to prison because of you and your child, and then you made sure that he found you in some other guy's bed. And now you're concerned about his happiness?

Babe: I always was and I still am.

Brooke: Well, then you are one mixed-up young woman.

Babe: Look, what I did -- the way that I broke up with Jamie -- I didn't have any other choice. Anyway, what do you care? We're apart, like you wanted.

Brooke: You made yourself the most important person in Jamie’s life. All of his dreams were about a future with you, and then you did what you did, the way you did it? You're not in his life anymore. So you stay out, because there is nothing that happens in Jamie’s life that is of any concern of yours at all.

Babe: But he does not want to marry Amanda. I know this. Look, he's too smart, he's too -- look, this whole Di/Dixie thing, it really threw him. He's not himself. You can at least see that.

Brooke: That may be the case, but it is still no concern of yours.

Babe: Jamie is not becoming a doctor so that little slut can sink her claws in him and bleed him dry.

Brooke: Oh, well, would you rather be the slut bleeding him dry? Is that what this is really all about?

Jamie: If J.R.’s pressing charges, I won't stop him. I'll back him up.

J.R.: That's the question, isn't it? Will I send you back to prison or will I come up with a worse punishment?

Di: I don't know.

J.R.: And you won't, not until you feel those handcuffs digging in your wrists.

Di: Prison doesn't scare me.

J.R.: Yeah, you did ok with the short haul, but I can send you for 20 years.

Di: J.R., in time, you --

Jamie: Don't push it.

J.R.: I give you two years before that title miss hot cellblock wears off and five years before you're just another worn-out scag.

Di: J.R., if you'll just listen --

J.R.: No, I don't need to listen to you ever again. So while I'm deciding your sentence, why don't you leave town.

Di: I will not let us end this way.

J.R.: You don't have a choice.

Jamie: Yeah, you're only making things worse.

J.R.: Yeah, listen to your pal.

Jamie: Just -- just get out like J.R. said.

Di: But if you need to, you can reach me. You know my cell phone number. You call if you --

J.R.: If I need you? Like I'm just going to chat with you? "Don't do drugs, J.R. Don't drink alcohol." What are you on? I'll tell you something -- you stay away from me. You stay the hell away from me. Otherwise, we both might end up in prison.

Jamie: God, it is just one stupid move after another with you. Why can't you just stay the hell out of our lives?

Tad: Everybody knows you're a loser in love, right?

David: Well, at least they always know my lover's identity.

Tad: I figure we could scratch up some poor, unfortunate, unsuspecting women and double-date. Yeah. Hell, I'll even give you some pointers. How's this for an online email announcement -- "Downwardly mobile ex-physician/chemistry whiz seeks open-minded woman to serve him as playmate/guinea pig. Only the delirious and delusional need apply."

David: That's not bad, not bad, but, you know, I wonder what they'd put on the net for you. "Tragic case of arrested development with stunted IQ --"

[David's ear drums hurt from one of Tad's loud cymbals.]

David: Not a very effective method.

Tad: Are you kidding? I bet you 50 bucks you end up with hearing loss.

David: Well, then you'll expect a lawsuit.

Tad: Yeah, a lawsuit, like you're going to sue me after you come in here and I give you what you're begging for -- abuse? I swear, you're like a 5-year-old. You think any kind of attention, even bad attention, is a good thing. It confirms your worst fear -- that you're actually alive.

David: Hmm. All of this coming from an ineffective PI, a joke of a musician. Now what, you're an armchair psychologist?

Tad: I think I got you down. The only reason you came sliming in here is you wanted to watch me scream and lose it. Well, the hearing loss is the only thing you're going to get from me, so why don't you hit the road -- unless you want a little traveling music?

[Tad plays drums]

David: So is this what you used to do with Di when you were alone, huh? Snuggle up by the fire reading pseudo-analytical women's magazines?

Tad: David, you might as well face the fact that you're bored because the whole Di charade is over, and you want some more kicks. Well, the only ones you're going to find are under that waxy, yellow build-up in all the bathrooms at the hospital. Oh, in case you missed it the first time, even a fake Dixie fell in love with me, not you.

Di: J.R. isn't as strong as he thinks he is. He can't get through this alone, Jamie.

Jamie: J.R. and I were actually cool until you butted in.

Di: Well, I hope you'll keep working on that.

Jamie: Did he look like he was in any mood to make up? Yeah, you may have made him nicer for a while, but you sure took care of that. Now he's more messed up than ever.

Di: That wasn't what I --

Jamie: What, your plan? Who really gives a -- why don't you just go pretend to be somebody else. Maybe Dad and Krystal can make it out of this ok. Take a --

Brooke: I guess I could have picked a better time?

Jamie: There's a lot of that going around, trust me. But I'm not mad at you.

Brooke: Well, you might be.

Jamie: Why? What's going on?

Brooke: I'm worried about you.

Jamie: Don't be. It's just more J.R.-and-Di mess.

Brooke: Well, that's why I'm here. James, you're not going to do anything crazy, are you?

Jamie: Trying to make up with J.R. might make me certifiable, but --

Brooke: Yeah, well, what about Amanda?

Jamie: Amanda?

Brooke: I mean, how serious are the two of you?

Jamie: That was good. Not at all, actually, but thanks. That was a good one.

Brooke: Really? Really? Because I know how upset you were about Di, I know how much you loved Dixie, and I -- you -- I just -- you -- I don't want you to do anything impulsive.

Jamie: Impulsive or planned, there's no way I'm getting serious about Amanda. We have a good time, that's all.

Brooke: And you're not planning to, like, get married or anything?

Jamie: Maybe in ten years or so, but never to Amanda. What's going on with you?

Brooke: Who cares? It's not true, and that's the only thing that matters.

[Julia wanders around an empty Wildwind.]

Julia: This is what you fought so hard to come back to, a big old empty house? There's nobody here. There's nothing here for you.

[Later, Julia dresses up to the nines and goes out for a night on the town.]

Kendall: Who can tell why Ryan has changed?

Greenlee: You didn't ask? It's pretty big if it's on the level.

Kendall: Why don't you ask him? Come on, Greenlee, talk to the man. What is it going to cost you?

Greenlee: Even if I did talk to him, I wouldn't tell him about our baby.

Kendall: Fine, ok, that's your call, but he is your husband. You should give him a chance.

Greenlee: Déjà vu -- the words of Erica.

Kendall: Yeah, well, you can't fight us both.

Greenlee: Yeah, I could, but it would be a lot of work.

Kendall: Ok, so then you'll talk with Ryan?

Greenlee: You can forgive him, because he didn't screw you over.

Kendall: The hell he didn't. Yes, he was your husband, but I shed tears, too. Now, I decided to carry this baby because I love you. But I also did it because I love him, too. And, Greenlee, we decided to conceive this child to keep a part of Ryan with us, but look, he's right there in the flesh, right in that room. Now, when our baby asks, "Where's my daddy?" What lie will you tell? Or will you tell the truth -- "I threw your daddy away"?

Anita: Ok, you've been cleared, so as soon as I find you a wheelchair --

Ryan: Oh, no, no, no, no. No wheelchair, I'm fine. I can walk fine.

Anita: Now, did Julia drive you here in your car, or can you arrange for a friend maybe to pick you up?

Ryan: I'll just call a cab.

Anita: You know what? I'll take care of it.

Ryan: Ok. Thank you.

Anita: You're welcome.

Ryan: You came back.

Greenlee: I sort of never left. Ryan, if you want to, we can talk back at the penthouse.

Brooke: Jamie's not marrying Amanda or anybody else.

Babe: Oh. Thank God.

Brooke: The only reason I am calling you is I want you to stop stirring up trouble. My family doesn't need your interference, and Jamie is much better off without your brand of drama. Understood?

Babe: I'll never bother you or Jamie again.

[Hiding behind some greenery, Babe witnesses a drug deal at the mall.]

Amanda: And you're sure he won't be able to taste it?

Man: Nobody has so far. Slip it in his drink, he's yours. Later he'll have a brain belch and only think he was drunk.

Amanda: And he'll do whatever I want?

Man: Anything and everything.

Amanda: I love chemistry.

Man: I love capitalism.

[Di shows up at Tad's door.]

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Erica (to Kendall): I'm not going to budge from this spot until you promise me that you will leave Pine Valley.

Greenlee (to Ryan): What new world of pain do you have to dump at my feet?

Tad: Just let me pick up what's left of my heart and try to move on.

Di: I can't do that.

Julia: Are you trying to get rid of me, Zach, or are you trying to make me stay?
