Jonathan: I didn't do anything, Dad. I swear.

Ryan: I'm not Dad, Hockett. It's me.

Jonathan: I swear, I -- I didn't do anything. I wasn't going anywhere. I was -- I was just picking up. I was -- I was cleaning, Dad, for you. I was being just the way you like. I was being quiet, I wasn't making a sound. There was no whining. I wasn't whining.

Ryan: You are good, Jonathan. You're very good, and you're safe. It's me, Hockett. It's Ryan.

Jonathan: Ryan went away.

Ryan: But I came back, because I'm going to help you.

Jonathan: No! No, no, no! Please, Dad, please don't! Please, I'm sorry! Please don't. Please don't, Dad.

Ryan: Jonathan --

Erin: See what you left behind when you bailed on us, Ryan?

Ryan: Jonathan --

Jonathan: I'll be quiet, I'll be quiet. I'll -- I'll be quiet, ok? I'm -- I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Dad. Please don't hurt me. Please don't hurt me. I'll be quiet, I'll be good. I'll be good. Please, Dad, don't, don't. Please don't hurt me.

Greenlee: Has Kendall come in yet?

Simone: How could I possibly know where Kendall is? She'd actually have to tell me for me to know that, and since nobody around here tells me anything about anything, I have no idea.

Greenlee: Is this about me and Kendall canceling on you? We didn't mean to hurt your feelings. I was tired.

Simone: Already forgotten. Oh, by the way, did you guys enjoy my guacamole?

Garret: Wow. So this is where you make the magic, huh?

Danielle: Well, me and a whole lot of other people. I'm pretty far down on the magic chain, mind you.

Garret: Well, you can't be that far down if you've helped develop a whole new product line. Where's the Fusion lineup?

Danielle: Oh, right over here.

Simone: Uh -- ok, I want you to keep an eye on that guy that Daniís with.

[Simone sighs]

Simone: There will -- there will be a test.

Greenlee: What kind of test?

Simone: If I tell you, then it wouldn't be a test. Just watch him.

Greenlee: What is he, a klepto?

Simone: No. Eyes open. Does he have a thing for Dani or not? Oh, act normal.

Danielle: Simone, Greenlee, I would like for you to meet Garret Williams, my mom's fiancť.

Simone: Ah.

Mimi: You know where Julia Santos is?

Kendall: That's what I said.

Mimi: Well, whoever has wanted her dead for nine years finally has an easy shot with her on the loose.

Derek: Kendall, you could be the only chance Julia has. Now, we have to get to her before they do, so give us an address already.

Kendall: No.

Julia: You can just stop worrying about me. I am totally safe. The only person who knew that I was here besides Kendall is now lying on a slab in the mausoleum.

Zach: Well, you're lucky you're not on a slab with him. Trying to keep it that way.

Julia: Jimmy said nobody knew he was here.

Zach: Jimmy also said that he was your best friend and Noah's best friend. Now, he killed your husband and he was about to kill you. I don't know if I'd bet my life on his word.

Julia: I'm just repeating what you fed Kendall. Don't tell me you were lying.

Zach: What if Jimmy was followed? What if his boss sent some people after him? We got to get out of here. Pack your stuff up.

Julia: No. This is my home. I just got back here. Nobody is forcing me out of it. I'm staying.

Mimi: Ok, let's try this again. Where's Julia Santos?

Kendall: I don't want to get --

Derek: Hey, hey, hold, hold, hold. Why don't you refrain your answer? Hold off on the "I don't want tos" and start with the "I will tell you everything I know."

Mimi: Oh, that worked.

Derek: Listen, Kendall, you could be our only link to Julia, the only hope we have of getting her back into what my ex-wife might call protective custody.

Mimi: What's that supposed to mean?

Derek: Your friends the Feds let her get away. How does that happen?

Mimi: We didn't let her do anything!

Derek: Well, you sure --

Kendall: Oh, ok, hello, hello! Is this good cop or bad cop? Because I can't tell which is which.

Derek: You know what, Kendall? You came to us, so why don't you stop playing games and tell us what you know.

Mimi: This isn't just another case. This is personal. Julia was a friend. She gave me my something blue when I married this guy.

Kendall: I really do want to tell you everything, but this is a special circumstance.

Mimi: We're talking about a human life.

Kendall: Yes, I'm all for human life. But what if, hypothetically, someone is helping Julia stay hidden? Would that someone be in trouble, legally speaking?

Derek: Is it you, Kendall? Have you been in on this with Julia?

Kendall: No, are you out of your mind? No, that woman has made my life hell. I'm sorry I know anything about her.

Mimi: Wild guess. This third party that's helping Julia -- it's your husband, Zach Slater.

Julia: I won't be hauled out of this house. Some of the best days of my life were spent here -- holidays, lazy afternoons, and riding with Maria, and my wedding. Those memories keep me sane, and I won't give them up.

Zach: I'm not asking you to.

Julia: Well, then leave me alone.

Zach: What if Jimmy's pals come here? What are you going to do, have an open house for them?

Julia: Let them come. And if I'm extra lucky, maybe when Jimmy doesn't report back, his boss, this Dragon guy, will come after me himself. And then I'll have exactly what I want -- the person who ordered Noah's death front and center.

Zach: I don't -- whoever this Dragon guy is, he's all about standing in the shadows. That's what he wants. He's not going to give up who he is just to finish a job that his hit man screwed up. Think about this a little bit. You're smarter than this. If you hang yourself out there as bait, he's just going to keep sending people and sending people until you're dead.

Julia: Why all this concern? Are you afraid? You want to save yourself? We have so much to live for, Kendall and all.

Zach: It's not about me.

Julia: No, exactly. So go and leave me alone to handle it.

Zach: Mm-hmm, all right, then you got to make sure you're going to close all the windows and the, you know, doors and stuff, right? You don't know who's going to come by.

Julia: I will, I will. And you know what else I'll do? I'll sign a waiver to Maria. I'll tell her that you -- you did everything that you could. You risked your life, you even killed a man to keep me breathing. Clear conscience, guilt gone. You're off the hook with Maria, and I can do what I need to do.

Zach: Someone's coming.

Greenlee: It's nice to meet you.

Simone: Danielle has told us so much about you. Well, not so much -- some. Very little, really.

Danielle: You keep me so busy, who has time to talk?

Simone: Right.

Garret: Well, you know, the trade papers have tagged Fusion the new kid with serious legs. Takes a lot of work to generate that kind of buzz.

Greenlee: You keep up with this kind of thing?

Garret: Well, Danielle wants to be a cosmetics queen, and I just want to be able to dish at the dinner table. But word on the street says that the rollout from the fall line will be a sellout.

Greenlee: Danielle's a big part of the Fusion line. She and Simone, who is head of marketing, have really helped it come together.

Garret: Well, the Cambias people must be loving you.

Greenlee: Ah, some of us more than others.

Simone: Oh, Ethanís great. He trusts our intuitions and lets us run with our ideas.

Garret: Well, I'm proud Daniís a part of it. But I'll get out of your way. Don't want to get in the way of beautifying America.

Greenlee: It was nice to meet you.

Garret: My pleasure.

Simone: Yeah, you have no idea.

Garret: Well, I'm going to go meet your mom, all right? So I'll -- I'll see you later.

Simone: Ok. Boss lady, what's your take? Is it doting stepdaddy-to-be or "come to Papa"?

Danielle: You told her?

Simone: Not everything.

Danielle: I'm sorry. I didn't mean to drag you into this.

Simone: I did not drag her. I asked her to scope it out to see if he's got the hots for you or not.

Danielle: So? What's the verdict?

Ryan: Jonathan, it's not --

Jonathan: No, no --

Ryan: It's not Patrick. I'm not Patrick. I'm not Dad.

Jonathan: I've been waiting for you, Dad.

Ryan: It's not Dad! It's me, it's Ryan.

Jonathan: I'm glad you're home. Here, come sit down. I hope Mrs. Craig didn't mess up the accounts again. I could -- I'm real good at math, Dad. I could do the books for you.

Ryan: I don't want you -- I don't want you to do anything. You don't --

Jonathan: I'll get the pillows just the way you like them, and I've got the remote ready for you. You can watch the game. We -- we could watch it together, Dad, if you want. I'd like that. Would you like that?

Ryan: Jonathan, I just want you to relax.

Jonathan: Let me take your shoes. Let me take your shoes. On your feet all day trying to make a buck -- I know they must hurt. And now I -- I got your slippers here, the ones Mom got you for Christmas.

Ryan: Jonathan, I don't want you to --

Jonathan: No, they're here, Dad. I'll find them, I'll find them. I will, I will. Well, you must be ready for a beer. I got your glass in the freezer just the way you like it. I could pour it for you, Dad, the way you taught me -- no foam? I mean, no foam. If you pour too fast, you bruise the flavor. You bruise the flavor, you bruise the --

Ryan: Jonathan, it's me, your brother.

Jonathan: I didn't mean -- I'm sorry, I didn't mean that. I didn't mean that. I didn't mean that. I didn't mean -- I'll find the -- I'll find the slippers, then I'll get the beer. I'll find your slippers. I'll find your slippers. Where are they? Where are they? Where are they? I put them here. I know they're here! I put them here, Dad, I promise! I put them here special. Special -- I'm stupid, stupid, stupid, stupid!

Erin: Jonathan?

Jonathan: I've got to get it right. I've got to get it right. I can get it right. I can get it right. I can do it. I can get it. Just don't be mad. Don't be mad. Please don't be mad at me, Dad. The beer's -- the beer's cold. The beer's cold, no foam, no bruises.

Ryan: Jonathan --

Jonathan: No, no!

Ryan: Stop --

Jonathan: No, Dad! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry! I'm sorry, Dad! Please don't. Please don't.

Lily: Sam? Did you find them?

Sam: Not yet. I thought I left them here, but I guess not. Either that or somebody moved them.

Lily: Maybe it was the -- well, what about the rug? Did you find it?

Sam: Ah, no big deal. Brooke probably sent it to my mom. She loved that rug. She got it some vacation with my Dad.

Lily: Well, don't you want to look for the tennis rackets anymore?

Sam: Yeah, I do, but I want to ask you something first.

Lily: Ok.

Sam: You haven't mentioned the ghosts once since we've been here. How come?

Jonathan: Please, Dad, no! I didn't do anything!

Ryan: Jonathan, I'm not going to hurt you.

Jonathan: Don't give me a shower.

Ryan: I'm not --

Jonathan: Don't give me a shower, Dad.

Ryan: A shower?

Jonathan: I'm sorry. I'll be good! I'll be better! Dad, I'm in the shower. I'm clean, I'm clean. I'm cleansed, scrubbed real hard. Even behind my ears, Dad -- look.

Ryan: Jonathan, can you see who I really am?

Jonathan: I scrubbed real hard there.

Ryan: I'm going to take care of you.

Jonathan: I scrubbed real hard. I scrubbed real hard.

Ryan: I'm going to take care of you.

Jonathan: Please don't -- no, Dad, please don't take care of me!

Ryan: Look, it's all over. Everything -- it's over!

Erin: Shh.

Jonathan: It's never over. It's never over. It's never over.

Ryan: I will make sure that nobody hurts you ever again. Do you understand that? I'm here to help.

Jonathan: No, no, no!

Ryan: I'm here to help!

Jonathan: No! I'll be good!

Ryan: Do something to stop this!

Erin: Stop what you started? You did this to Jonathan when you left, all right? We lived it every day! We still do.

Ryan: I knew it was bad.

Erin: Oh, big hero Ryan -- you couldn't possibly be responsible for this, could you? You left, you never turned back, and this is what you left behind, Ryan.

Ryan: I didn't think Dad --

Erin: No, no, you didn't think about us at all, did you? And now you want to zoom back in here like one of your comic book heroes? Do you think you can fix me, fix Jonathan? You don't know jack, Ryan!

Jonathan: I'm so sorry, Dad. I'm so sorry. Please, I'll be good. Wait, wait, Dad. Dad, Braden and Ryan didn't mean it. It was just a joke. They weren't really going anywhere. It was just a joke.

Ryan: Jonathan, I want to talk to you. I want to talk to you.

Jonathan: Please don't punish them.

Ryan: It's Ryan. I need to talk to you.

Jonathan: Braden and Ryan didn't mean it, Dad. It was just a joke.

Ryan: It is Ryan --

Jonathan: No, no, no! Dad, I'm sorry!

Ryan: Do something! Stop this!

Jonathan: God, please don't hit me! Please, please don't hurt me, Dad! Please! Please!

Erin: Not until you see what I did.

Jonathan: Please don't hurt me. Please don't hurt me. Please don't hurt me.

Simone: Is Garret a skeeve or what?

Greenlee: You and you, stop staring at me. You're making me nervous.

Simone: We're trying to help.

Greenlee: Well, just give me a minute.

Simone: How many minutes do you need to suss out this guy?

Greenlee: All right. You gave me everything, every detail, every look. Anything suggestive when your mom isn't around?

Danielle: Um -- no, not really. I mean, he looks at me a little longer sometimes, but it just really weirded me out when he came into my room in the middle of the night.

Greenlee: You said he thought he heard glass break.

Danielle: Yeah.

Greenlee: Did all this start bugging you before or after your breakup with Reggie?

Danielle: You know about that?

Greenlee: I love Reggie. I've seen how upset he is. You must be, too.

Danielle: Hurts like crazy.

Simone: Ok, wait. What does Reggie have to do with whether or not her stepdaddy-to-be has got the hots for her or not?

Greenlee: Well, after a breakup, you're sad, you're lonely, confused. I mean, we've been there. So?

Danielle: The thing with Garret started after Reggie and I broke up, but no way they're connected. Right?

Greenlee: Probably not, but they could be. I mean, all of a sudden Reggieís gone, there's a big hole in your life, and Garret comes along.

Danielle: Gross.

Greenlee: It's just a theory.

Simone: Jam the theory. Do you get the creepy vibe from this man or not?

Greenlee: Not. Definitely not. He's charming, he's the perfect gentleman.

Danielle: Oh, God. I'm really messed up then. If he's not the freak, I am.

Kendall: I made a mistake. It was a big mistake, and I'm sorry.

Derek: Hey, hey, hey. You came in here all revved up. You don't get to leave until you spill something.

Kendall: There's nothing to spill. I don't know anything. I made it all up. All I know is nada and more nada.

Mimi: Well, before you flee the scene, let me paint a picture and then you can go anywhere you want. So you're living the good life in your casino-financed home -- a husband, dog, cat, couple of kids. And then one day one of them asks, "What's your greatest regret?"

Kendall: Besides marrying their father?

Mimi: You confess. An innocent woman was murdered all because of you.

Kendall: Your picture sucks.

Mimi: Julia dead, on your head, all because of you forever and ever. This is a small town, Kendall. You know Julia's friends, her family. How are you going to feel when you walk down the street and you look at one of them knowing that you're responsible for her death? How will you live with that?

Derek: Is that your idea of working an interrogation? Suds and violins? Well, how about this? I know your rap sheet. I arrested you on perjury charges way back when. You tell us where Julia is, or I will slam you behind bars for obstruction of justice, withholding evidence, and anything else I can throw into the mix!

Kendall: You know what? I liked her method better. You want to get to me, guilt is the way to go. Yelling in my face is not going to cut it. It just makes me want to fight back harder.

Mimi: Well, I hope that means you're willing to cooperate.

Kendall: I will, on two conditions.

Derek: No, no, no, no. No deals, no negotiations. You just tell us everything you know.

Mimi: Ignore him. What are your conditions?

Kendall: I want immunity for whoever is helping Julia.

Mimi: And?

Kendall: And you have to promise me -- and I mean promise me -- no one can ever find out that I told you where she is. If word gets out that I told you, then my life is over.

Lily: I don't understand why you would ask me that.

Sam: There's no trick to it. I'm -- I'm just curious. I mean, you're all about the ghosts at Wildwind, and then all of a sudden nothing. How come?

Lily: Oh, I'm not good at this.

Sam: I didn't mean to upset you.

Lily: Well, I'm not upset. I want to understand. You asked me not to talk about the ghost, so I didn't. And now that I'm not, you're asking me why I'm not talking about it? And the answer would be because you asked me not to? Right?

Sam: Yeah, right, I did.

Lily: I didn't mention the g-h-o-s-t because it makes you feel bad. And I didn't want you to feel bad, just like you didn't want me to feel bad, because we like each other. Is that right, or did I get something wrong, because I have Autism Spectrum Disorder?

Erin: Jonathan?

Jonathan: I'll be good.

Erin: Jonathan, I'll take care of Daddy, ok? You go hide.

Jonathan: Please don't let him hurt me anymore.

Erin: No.

Jonathan: Please don't let him --

Erin: I won't, I won't.

Jonathan: Please don't let him hurt me anymore.

Erin: Go on, quick. Come on, go. Daddy. Daddy, I'm so glad you're home.

Ryan: What are you doing?

Erin: Oh, Daddy. Daddy, you see my pretty picture I drew, huh? I drew it just for you. Isn't it pretty? I got a gold star. It's you and me, and we're sitting in your chair, and you're telling me the baseball scores.

Ryan: Hey, you don't have to do this, Erin.

Erin: Daddy, Daddy, I got an a in arithmetic -- 100%. I studied real, real hard just like you told me to. Can we have a tea party to celebrate, please? I've been extra, extra good, Daddy. Please? I'll -- I'll go get my tea and -- and my dolls. No. No, no, no, Daddy. Daddy, leave Jonathan alone. Just -- just have tea with me, all right? Daddy, please, please, please don't -- don't go into Jonathan's room! Don't go in. No, stay with me! Stay with me, Daddy! Daddy, I'll make you laugh! Stay with me! Stay with me! It's all your fault, Ryan! It's all your fault. You told us you were going to come back for us. Why didn't you come back for us? Why didn't you help us?

Ryan: Erin, I had no idea.

Erin: Now you do, and it's too damn late.

Ryan: No, it's not. We can help Jonathan.

Erin: Better idea, Ry. You can stay dead if we can stay dead.

Kendall: We have a deal?

Mimi: You get your conditions.

Derek: Yeah, as long as the information on Julia is accurate.

Kendall: Of course it is.

Derek: We'll see.

Kendall: I'm sorry that I was such a pain. I just needed to know for sure.

Derek: Let's take it over here.

Kendall: Ok.

Garret: Wow. You look busy and official and gorgeous.

Mimi: Good news -- we got a lead on the case.

Garret: Oh, that's great. Maybe now you'll get some sleep instead of power-walking the living room.

Mimi: Well, I will sleep like a baby unless you give me a reason to stay up.

Garret: Oh. Well, I'll do my best. But I'll let you go so you can ride to the rescue.

Mimi: No, don't go. I mean, it'll take some time to get the team started.

Garret: Ok.

Mimi: All right?

Kendall: Not a word, right?

Mimi: Not a word, and thank you.

Garret: What was that about?

Derek: Classified. You think you can take a few minutes out of your busy personal life for some police work, maybe coordinate the efforts to extract your witness?

Mimi: Wait here.

Garret: Won't move.

Mimi: You know what I miss about living with you?

Derek: Hmm?

Mimi: It's the sarcasm. It's the lowest form of humor. Did you know that?

Derek: Not trying to be funny.

Mimi: Ok, so what is it? Where's Julia? Who's she with?

Sam: Forget about your disorder. You're doing everything exactly right.

Lily: I don't want to make a mistake.

Sam: Not a chance.

Lily: They don't teach it in my Life Skills class. I asked my coach if she would help me script love, but she didn't. She said it was too complicated. So we scripted going to the Department of Motor Vehicles instead.

Sam: Well, there is nothing complicated about why I love being with you. Things are just better when you're around, I guess.

Lily: I like it when you laugh and your eyes crinkle, and I like the way that you do funny things with your food.

Sam: Oh, yeah, I like that whole geometric thing you do with your waffles, too.

[Lily laughs]

Lily: I love my dad and Erica and Kendall and Greenlee and Bianca and Miranda, too. But it doesn't feel like this. When I'm with you, everything seems to fit, like all the parts of my body fit together better. Does that make sense?

Sam: I think we fit together pretty well.

Lily: Is that love, too?

Sam: There's a million ways to love someone. Or, you know, 999,999 at least. You know what else is love? Just being here, doing nothing.

Lily: Or do something, like look for the tennis rackets.

Sam: All right, let's go down to the maintenance shed by the courts. Come on.

Lily: Why is there "love" in tennis, like "love-15," "love-30," "love-40"?

Sam: The only love I know is you.

Zach: See? That's another reason why you can't be here. Sam and Lily are out at Wildwind all the time. As long as people are gunning for you, you can't be here. No one's safe.

Erin: Who says dreams don't come true? Jonathan wasted so many nights dreaming that you'd come back and rescue him. But me? This is all I ever wanted -- for you to see what we lived through after you took off.

Ryan: I had no idea.

Erin: How can you say that? You took off because of Dad's abuse. What did you think would happen after you left? He would just find religion, fall to his knees, start showing his love with hugs instead of fists?

Ryan: I didn't know he would take it out on Jonathan like this.

Erin: Well, now you know. Life with Dad. Some days were good. I -- I could get him caught up and distracted with my good grades or with some story I'd just make up on the spot. Most days Jonathan was in his sight. There was nothing I could do.

Ryan: You were a kid. You shouldn't have had to run interference.

Erin: Well, who else, Ryan? You and Braden were gone, Mom was lost in a bottle.

Ryan: The things that Dad did --

Erin: What you want to do to Jonathan is as bad as anything Dad ever did to him.

Ryan: What are you talking about? You can't keep him locked in a closet. He needs professional help.

Erin: Ryan, those professionals will throw him into a prison for the criminally insane. You'll tell yourself you're doing the humane thing, but it will shred Jonathan bit by bit until there's nothing left of him. Is that -- is that your idea of help? Is that fair to him?

Ryan: It doesn't have to be that way.

Erin: Oh, but -- but it works for you, doesn't it? Sure, the Grey family might not feel a sense of satisfaction, you know, not getting to push the plunger and kill Jonathan. But you'll be Ryan the hero again. Sure, you did everything you could for your baby brother, but then you had to move on.

Ryan: I'm not going anywhere until I know that he is safe.

Erin: Ryan, you almost killed him once. Do you want to do that again?

Ryan: I want him to have a chance! How can we give him that?

Erin: We can't! All right? I will take care of him, and you will go back to being dead.

Ryan: You're not equipped, Erin, to take care of somebody with Jonathan's problems. He could hurt himself, he could hurt you.

Erin: But I have to, ok? I owe him. For every single poison sandwich he got, Dad gave me a dollar. Every night Daddy told him he was going to die, I got tucked in with a kiss. You don't get a say in this, Ryan. I'm doing the right thing.

Ryan: You're not. You're not. You've got it all wrong.

Greenlee: You're not a freak for thinking some guy was coming on to you.

Danielle: You think I'm making this all up to get back at my mom? Like she dumped me, comes back with a new man, so I'm out to wreck them?

Greenlee: No, but there's only one way to deal with this. You have to ask Garret if he's coming on to you.

Danielle: You've so got to be kidding.

Simone: That's your answer? That's the best that you could do? He could lie. He could say anything he wanted to save his sorry, lying self.

Greenlee: Well, it's not what he says that'll give him away, it's how he reacts.

Danielle: Uh-huh, yeah, by laughing in my face, by telling my mom? No way. Mom and I are just now getting along. I go to Garret with this, life as we know it -- over.

Greenlee: Well, you want to keep wondering if he's a letch? I mean, you want to wait until, what, after the wedding? The honeymoon?

Danielle: But face to face, just straight out with it? No way.

Greenlee: Nothing's going to change unless you get it out in the open.

Simone: Who are you? Where's the scheme, the scam, the con to expose Garret for the dirtbag that he is? Where's the twist that nails the sucker to the wall?

Greenlee: Plain vanilla honesty isn't my personal style, but for you it's the only way to go. It could hurt, but you'll have your answer, and it'll be over.

Simone: Yeah, like ripping off a bandage.

Danielle: My mom's so happy. I would totally ruin her life.

Greenlee: Or you could save her from a total skeeve.

David: Good, you're here. We need to talk. Alone.

Simone: Yeah. Dani, let's tweak that regional campaign for the lip glosses.

Greenlee: Danielle? You can do this. What's so important? Why are you staring at me?

David: You blow my mind, Greenlee, and that's not an easy thing to do. You're brilliant, courageous. Talk about love.

Greenlee: Like cover of "Tempo" material?

David: More like the cover of "Mommy and me" magazine.

Greenlee: David, I miscarried.

David: Yeah, and here you are, unbeatable, unstoppable. No obstacle, no tragedy is going to keep you from getting what you want.

Greenlee: Are you indulging in some of your homegrown potions?

David: Who's carrying the baby for you? Who's the surrogate?

Kendall: Sorry I'm late. You try to help do a good deed, nothing but trouble. But I'm here. Hi.

David: Oh, my God. Now, this is one mother of a shocker.

Greenlee: Anything you want to tell me?

Kendall: You have a big mouth?

David: I know you're taking FSH to increase egg production.

Greenlee: That's crazy. You know I can't carry a baby to term.

David: FSH injections are used in the process before implanting a fertilized egg into a surrogate.

Greenlee: Did Erica put you up to this? I told her, Dr. Madden told her. I'm part of a clinical study. I'm nothing but a guinea pig.

David: I tested the substance that was in the syringe that she found at your place.

Greenlee: No, you didn't. She gave it back to me.

David: After she squirted some of the drug onto a tissue, which she gave to me.

Greenlee: I swear to God, if you told her anything, if you so much as hinted --

David: Not a word. I can tell her whatever we want.

Kendall: When did we become "we"?

David: The minute I figured this out. You are the surrogate. In approximately nine months, you are going to give birth to Ryan and Greenlee's baby. And you are going to prove once and for all that Ryan's problems were a matter of his choices, not some crazed family gene.

Ryan: You can't take on the guilt of what happened to us. You are just as much of a victim here as Braden and Jonathan.

Erin: Dad used me to hurt Jonathan!

Ryan: Doesn't mean that you're responsible!

Erin: I owe my brother!

Ryan: No, you don't! You don't owe him! You don't. Love him, yes. Help him, of course, but don't sacrifice your entire life because our father was a monster. I mean, my God. Erin, that's exactly, exactly what I did, what you're doing. I moved into a motel room, so I could be with Jonathan 24/7. It didn't work. I didn't help him. Greenlee tried to get me to see that, but I had too much guilt to get there. I put my marriage on hold. I put my life on hold.

Erin: So -- so you just want me to hand him over to anonymous white coats, so that I can watch him make potholders for the rest of his life?

Ryan: I want you to be free. Jonathan needs more than love and a 24/7 bodyguard. I tried. I tried harder than you could ever imagine and I failed.

Erin: I won't.

Ryan: You will not win this. You can't win. You can't cure him, and you will lose any chance of having a normal, decent life, exactly like I did.

Julia: You know, Sam and Lily, they -- they reminded me of what I had with Noah, that two hearts united against the world thing. I was wrong.

Zach: You're not giving up, are you?

Julia: No. I'm more determined than ever. I will bring down whoever killed Noah. But I don't need to stay here to do it. I thought I needed to be here to hold on to it, to -- to feel, to remember. But love isn't about places and things. Noah will be with me, making me stronger wherever I am. You're right. This is too dangerous. I need to leave here.

Derek: This is your operation all the way. We're strictly backup. Let's just get Julia back into protective custody safe and sound.

Mimi: I've already given the order -- no force unless absolutely necessary. This goes my way, and our bird is back in her cage without a ruffled feather. I got to go, baby.

Garret: Oh. Damn, you make me proud.

Derek: We're on a time schedule.

Mimi: I'll see you at home.

Garret: Hey. You just missed your mom.

Danielle: Actually, it's you I wanted to see.

Garret: Sure. What is it?

Danielle: Uh --

Garret: Wow. Big, huh?

Danielle: Don't even know how to start.

Garret: Hardest part. But you know you can come to me any time, all right, for anything.

Danielle: I have to know if something's going on.

Garret: Going on?

Danielle: With you, about me.

Erin: I thought I had a really good plan -- you know, solid, but -- watch Jonathan, give him his meds. You show up and blow it all to pieces. If you're so big on helping, what do you think we should do?

Ryan: I thought I knew. Now I'm not sure of anything.

Greenlee: This -- you -- not part of the plan.

David: Don't worry about a thing. I'm not going to tell a soul, especially Erica.

Greenlee: You'd better not.

David: Trust me, I know what's at stake here. And I'm not going to interfere, all right? The two of you bringing this baby into the world -- beyond extreme, even for you. Or you. I mean, to harness your craziness into this kind of love --

Kendall: Using our powers for good?

Greenlee: We can also use our powers to make you keep your mouth shut.

David: Don't even think it. I'll be in touch, all right? And don't worry. I've got your backs, both of you.

Kendall: I think he'll really keep his mouth shut. Our secret's safe.

Simone: How could you do this?

Zach: Leave it to Lily to make you see reason.

[Lawn mower runs]

Julia: Oh, that sweet girl and my nephew reminded me what love's all about.

Zach: Well, as long as you're ok. Let's get moving. Are you packed?

Julia: Always. I have been for the last nine years. It's the first thing you learn in witness protection. What is it?

Zach: These guys cutting the lawn that's already been cut.

[Zach protectively throws himself on top of Julia while a barrage of gunfire rains on them shattering everything in sight.]

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Krystal (to Babe): Honey, you are not going anywhere or doing anything until you tell me what you're up to with J.R.

Jamie (to Amanda): You want fun, I'm your guy. You're after anything else, I'm gone.

Ethan (to Kendall, Greenlee, and Simone): The news on the radio just reported a shooting at Wildwind.

Kendall (to Greenlee): I was too late. What if Zachís dead?
