All My Children Transcript Thursday 8/4/05
Proofread by Gisele
J.R.: Let's get out of here before the storm hits.
Di: Oh. No, you don't leave until we talk about Jamie.
J.R.: Look, you can tie me up, you can gag me. It's not going to change anything. I'm done with Jamie. You need to accept that.
Di: Done with him? No, you can't get enough. I mean, you took him down, and now you won't let him up for air. I can't watch you kick his life to pieces.
J.R.: My poor, defenseless brother, Jamie -- it's all about him, isn't it? Hey, thanks for coming back from the dead to take my side, Mom.
Jamie: No wedding? Is there something you want to tell me?
Babe: Jamie, you're back early.
Jamie: Sounds like I'm back just in time.
Josh: I think I'll head out. Check in with you later.
Jamie: Want to clue me in?
Babe: Jamie, you can't sell your car to pay for the wedding. You worked so hard on it.
Jamie: It's just some wheels.
Babe: It's just another thing that you're giving up for me.
Jamie: You're willing to give up our wedding instead?
Amanda: Ah. Nothing like living extra large. Wow.
[Walking around Wildwind’s garden patio, Amanda helps herself to a crystal vase.]
Aidan: What, did they throw you out of the hospital already?
Amanda: You scared me. I didn't expect to --
Aidan: Expect to see anyone? Right.
Amanda: You don't live here.
Aidan: Uh -- neither do you -- I mean, at least the last time I checked. And the Greys moved to California, so what exactly are you doing here?
Lily: This is the second time that Sam’s been mad at me.
Zach: Well, I'm sorry. That's my fault. He's mad at me, too.
Lily: That's because he doesn't like you. He likes me. He just doesn't like it when I talk about the ghost, and that's when he gets upset.
Zach: He'll get over it.
Lily: Sam doesn't understand. I just want to help the ghost at Wildwind, like I helped Ryan's ghost.
Zach: Well, you did help him, but that's going to be our little secret, right? You promised you wouldn't tell anyone about that sighting.
Lily: Right. I won't tell anyone that I saw Ryan.
Kendall: What did you say? Did you see Ryan?
Zach: Here, why don't you go inside.
Kendall: No, Lily, don't go anywhere until you tell me what you meant.
Lily: I told Zach --
Zach: Why you harassing her?
Kendall: I'm not harassing her, I just want an answer.
Zach: Let's go inside. It's about to rain.
Kendall: It hasn't even started raining yet. Lily, tell me what you meant about Ryan.
Lily: You're mad at me.
Kendall: Ok, no, no, I'm not mad at you.
Lily: You're mad at me now. Sam's mad at me, too. I can tell by the look on your face and your loud voice. I don't want to make anyone mad.
Zach: You're not. She -- she's not mad at you. She's overreacting like she always is. So why don't you go inside and have a soda, and we'll find that book on card counting you wanted. Go right in.
Kendall: No, no, Lily, wait --
Lily: Don't touch. Don't touch.
Zach: Leave her alone. What are you doing?
Kendall: All right, I'm sorry, I'm sorry, ok? I didn't mean to touch you, all right? Why don't you just let me talk to her instead of bossing her around?
Zach: Well, she doesn't need this right now.
Kendall: Oh, you know her so well?
Lily: Why do I make everyone so mad? What did I do?
Zach: It's ok, you didn't do anything. Just go inside. It's all right. Come here.
Kendall: What? What? You said it's going to rain.
Zach: Shh. Don't make a big deal out of this.
Kendall: Ok, listen to me. I have gotten to know you very well since we've said, "I do, Darwin'," and right now you are doing one of your lovely little tap-dancing routines. So take a bow and tell me the truth. What did Lily mean? When did she see Ryan?
Amanda: Suspicious much?
Aidan: Just curious, really.
Amanda: The Greys and my family used to be really close. Maria said I could -- before she moved to California, Maria said that I could come by anytime, stop by, and enjoy the place.
Aidan: And are you enjoying yourself?
Amanda: What are you doing here, besides sneaking around scaring people to death?
Aidan: Maria asked me to stop by and check up on the place, but she didn't mention that she gave anyone an open invitation like yourself. So how did you get in here?
Amanda: I put a key in the lock, and I turned it.
Aidan: Really? Because when I turned up, that door was double-locked.
Amanda: I locked it behind me, Sherlock.
Aidan: That's very conscientious of you.
Amanda: You have so totally ruined the mood. I'm out of here.
Aidan: Hey --
Amanda: Ugh, if you want a good-bye kiss, forget it.
Aidan: What's in the bag?
Amanda: What? Why don't you frisk me?
Aidan: Open it.
Amanda: You have got to be kidding me. You don't really think I would steal stuff from my friends? Stop! Give it to me! This is ridiculous! Don't -- ugh –
Josh: Hi, Danielle.
Danielle: Hey. My project for Fusion. First time they let me develop something. What do you think?
Josh: Great. What is it?
Danielle: Oh, you're such a guy. Meet the Fusion eau de toilette roll-on and lip-gloss duet. One side's a perfume, the other side's a lip-gloss. Think it'll pop?
Josh: You'll sell a million.
Danielle: I'd settle for half of that. What are you doing here?
Josh: Best takeout in town, I've heard.
Danielle: Curly fries.
Josh: Extra chili, extra cheese. How you doing?
Josh: Do you want me to pretend to buy that? I will.
Danielle: Ok. Maybe not so great.
Josh: You didn't work things out with Reggie?
Danielle: I'd like to work him over.
Josh: He's still ticked about what happened?
Danielle: Hardheaded, got all the right answers except for my side.
Josh: Sorry it's so screwed up. If you want to grab coffee sometime and talk about it --
Danielle: Right. That sounds like a great idea -- go out on a date with you. I don't think so.
Josh: No date. I'm not making a move. I told you, friends. That's it. I meant it.
Danielle: Sorry I jumped. I'm messing up everything lately.
Josh: Cut yourself some slack.
Danielle: I don't deserve any. I really blew it that night at the beach.
Josh: I was there, too.
Danielle: Yeah, but you thought you were with someone so not me, and I was playing like I was an up-for-anything type of girl. You didn't know how old I was, you didn't know it was my first time, you didn't know I had a boyfriend. Why couldn't I just be straight with you? Why do I have to keep messing up? It's all out of control now, believe me.
Josh: Hate to tell you, it's called life.
Danielle: Yeah, so where's the part where I get smart and start making the right decisions?
Garret: Am I interrupting?
Danielle: Uh -- no. Josh, this is my mom's fiancé, Garret.
Garret: You're the guy from the beach.
Danielle: Everything's cool, Garret.
Josh: Yeah, I am. Josh Madden.
Garret: I want to talk to you -- alone.
Jamie: No, no, it's totally clear, like glass. You don't want to marry me, because I sold a car?
Babe: Jamie, you know that's not it.
Jamie: I mean, I can't wait to tell my folks. "My fiancée dumped me over a convertible."
Babe: Would you just stop it?
Jamie: Just forget the big stuff -- going on the run, scrapping our lives, all the crud we've been through. I sold a car -- deal-breaker.
Babe: I am not going to marry you if it means you have to sell something that you love.
Jamie: I love you. Nothing else matters.
Babe: It isn't just about the car, ok? I mean, you wake up every morning, for what? To fix engines because of me. And you live in this dump because of me. You can't get into school and get a medical degree because of me, and you almost went to jail because of me. All I've done is take from you since the second we got together.
Jamie: Do you have any clue how much you've given me?
Babe: A bad name? A torn-up rep? Jamie, you almost gave up your identity, your family, all for me, to keep my son safe.
Jamie: My choices. Every choice, mine.
Babe: And I don't want to be the reason keeping you from something that you wanted.
Jamie: I have told you a hundred times. You haven't taken anything from me. You've given me love. You've given me a home that I can't wait to come back to every night. I choose you. I choose this life.
Babe: I've seen the way that you look at that doctor's bag.
Jamie: It's just a bag.
Babe: And how excited you were when your granddad asked you to work at the hospital and the look in your eyes when Palmer KO'd it. I know you, you hate this -- being stuck, not being able to do things you love, not being able to go to school, living this life, not the one that you wanted to live. I understand, Jamie. It's all right to admit that you want more.
Jamie: You're all I want.
Babe: Ok. I'm going to take this check, and I am going to use every penny for the most wonderful ceremony and party in the world -- on one condition. The second that that honeymoon is over, you get in a car, a bus, a train, or a plane, and you head off to a med school where J.R. can't touch you. And you're going to stick it out as long as it takes to get your undergrad done and get your medical degree. We'll live happily ever after, long distance.
J.R.: Yeah, I've already heard Jamie’s lame case, but coming from you --
Di: I'm not taking his side. I'm not taking sides at all.
J.R.: They why are you coming at me like this? Look, Jamie and I -- history.
Di: You guys are so alike.
J.R.: Oh, like hell we are.
Di: Yeah, you're both so stubborn and so set on proving yourself, only, J.R., you're going the extra mile to make sure that Jamie’s future is entirely ruined.
J.R.: Oh, he got a pretty good head start on me when he teamed up with my ex-wife and kidnapped my son and let me think that he was dead. Now, there is nothing that I could do that would ever come close to that.
Di: Come on.
J.R.: Where are we going?
Di: Going to find a mirror.
Jamie: Nice try, but our wedding's not up for negotiation. I won't leave you.
Babe: You're not leaving me. You're simply going away to school. People do it all the time. You'll be able to come back on holidays and for summer breaks, and who knows? Maybe I'll even talk to the judge, get them to change my visitation and bring Little Adam down there to visit.
Jamie: Yeah, that's going to happen.
Babe: Why won't you even consider this?
Jamie: Because you're playing into J.R.’s game. If I leave, you go away, J.R. wins.
Babe: You are always so down on J.R. having to win. Don't you see you do the exact same thing?
Jamie: I'm trying to make a life for us.
Babe: And I am giving you a way to make that happen, Jamie. You going away to school doesn't mean that J.R. wins. It just means that you're going after your dream. Forget about J.R. In the end, we're going to have each other, which means we will win.
Jamie: I won't run away.
Babe: God, this is not about running, Jamie! It's about saying "screw J.R." and moving on with your life. This isn't some stupid game of chicken to see who flinches first or who blinks. It's about us living our life our way.
Jamie: If I leave, that's J.R.’s way.
Babe: So you're just going to stay and be a mechanic in this dump of a garage for the rest of your life?
Jamie: You know what? If you're not happy --
Babe: Jamie, you're not happy!
Jamie: I won't cave to J.R.! This is what I want -- you and me.
Babe: Are you with me because you love me, or to stick it to J.R.?
Zach: Lily read a book about ghosts, and, apparently, when people die suddenly, they walk the earth, because they have unfinished business. She's obsessed with the concept.
Kendall: Did she see Ryan?
Zach: She saw something in the shadows of Wildwind. She thought it was Edmund. And then she saw something outside the casino, and she was convinced it was Ryan.
Kendall: Because of a book?
Zach: Yeah, because of a book. It's real to her, and she had two sightings so close together, so I know she believes it. But all she really did was upset Sam, and now she's upset you.
Kendall: So she didn't see Ryan?
Zach: No, she didn't see Ryan. Ryan's dead. I'm sorry. But you're going to have to let it go. You have to let Ryan go. And don't tell Greenlee about this.
Kendall: No, I won't. She has enough going on. I just -- I hoped that maybe --
Zach: I know.
Kendall: I thought Ryan was in the shed. It was rats. And now there's not even a ghost. There's nothing.
Zach: You're all packed up. You're not leaving me, are you?
Danielle: What are you doing? You don't need any alone time with Josh. We're friends, that's it, that's all. No way, no how you got to have a conversation.
Josh: It's all right. You've got something to say.
Danielle: Don't be so polite. No reason you need an earful.
Danielle: Ugh, Fusion. If I don't take this, my life as cosmetics queen is over. Hi. This is Dani. Can you hold a sec, please? I'll be right back. Be cool. Hey, it's me. What do you got?
Garret: Hard to be cool about what happened at the beach. Now, Dani’s a great girl --
Josh: I know.
Garret: Oh, you know? From one night?
Josh: I get you're upset --
Garret: Oh, you get? You don't get anything. All right, Dani’s been through a lot, she's got a lot to deal with. Her parents have been divorced since she was a little girl. She's been separated from her father for years and now has had to develop a relationship with him all over again now that she's moved back here? Now her mom's back in her life with a fiancé. Dani’s trying to adjust, doing the best she can, but she's on shaky ground. The last thing she needs is some clown coming to town taking advantage of her.
Josh: I didn't take advantage of Danielle, but you sure as hell are.
Aidan: What is this doing in your bag, Amanda?
Amanda: I was going to give it to Maria, like it's any of your business.
Aidan: Did she ask you to do that?
Amanda: She just packed up and went west. I thought she might want something from Wildwind to show that we're thinking of her.
Aidan: Aw. Isn't that so sweet? Incredible, really, since you probably haven't spoken to her in years.
Amanda: You know, you really get off on this, don't you, playing the big man? I don't have to defend myself to you.
Aidan: Oh, maybe not to me. Somebody else.
Amanda: Save your time calling her. She doesn't know about it. You're just going to ruin the surprise.
Aidan: I'm not calling Maria. I'm calling the police.
Amanda: Oh -- give me that.
Aidan: Hey -- quick thinking.
Amanda: Oops. I hope you had insurance.
Aidan: You know, if you want a personal escort to the police station, you've gone the right way about it.
Amanda: What are you doing?
Aidan: I'm going to take you to see Chief Derek Frye. How's that?
Amanda: Let me go. I will have you arrested.
Aidan: Really? You can let the police decide --
Amanda: No! Let me go! Agh! Let go of me!
[Someone watches the struggle from the shadows.]
Jamie: That is ridiculous, Babe. I would never use you to stick it to J.R. I'm with you, because I love you.
Babe: But it sure helps that it rubs J.R. the wrong way.
Jamie: You are the most important person in my life. Why can't you accept that? Be happy, instead of always looking for trouble.
Babe: Why can't you accept that if we choose to be apart, it doesn't mean that J.R. wins? If we choose, he has no power. We choose, he loses. Even if we're on opposite sides of the continent, we're still going to be together no matter what.
Jamie: I don't trust J.R. I leave, God knows what he'd do to you.
Babe: I can handle J.R. You should see what I can do with some rope and some tire chains.
Jamie: And I've seen what he can do with drugs -- and pipes and motorcycles.
Babe: J.R. knows he's killing me every day he keeps Little Adam away from me. He has his stick, Jamie. He's not going to try anything else.
Jamie: I'm not going to take that chance!
Babe: Is it J.R. you don't trust, or is it me?
J.R.: I've never been to this place.
Di: Pretty rustic delivery room, huh?
Di: David brought me here, told me the whole story of the night that Little Adam was born.
J.R.: Yeah. Yeah, you know, it's -- it's really hard to believe my son took his first breath here.
Di: In the middle of a storm, flash flood, two young women in labor. Babe -- she delivered Bianca’s baby. I mean, God knows where she found the strength to go try and get help and come back here and deliver her own child, your son, no doctors, no hospitals. Babe saved both of those babies all by herself.
J.R.: We thought we were going to lose Babe and Bianca that night.
Di: It could have been a tragedy, but Babe made it into a miracle. Babe brought your son into this world, J.R. She protected and saved the most precious thing in your life -- your little boy.
Zach: All right -- oh! So who's the lucky guy now?
Kendall: Well, who else could it be? You remember J.R., my lover? Hot, rich, sexy, crazy about me? Yeah, it turns out it was more than a fling. He actually loves me and he wants a life with me. So -- I mean, he's been so great to me, he's been wonderful, so how could I say no?
Zach: Yeah, no, no, no. You -- you and Junior?
Zach: Wow, that's weird. Um --
Kendall: Uh -- this isn't -- there's nothing weird about it. It's not even a joke. This is real. He loves me, he wants me, and he knows what I need.
Zach: Well, the first thing you're going to need is a divorce from me. And that's ok. Let me grab a couple of things, and we'll go to Reno. I don't want to stand in the way of true love, seriously.
Kendall: Are you having fun with this?
Zach: I'm thrilled. And you're going to live happily ever after with the man you love -- at least till next week. It's good.
Kendall: You're a jerk!
Zach: Ok. Ah. Ahem.
Zach: Well, that seals it -- irreconcilable differences. No-fault divorce. You'll be free in no time.
Kendall: You're tormenting me, you know that?
Zach: No, I'm wishing you well.
Kendall: Give -- fine. There's no marriage, ok? There's not even a fling.
Zach: So the divorce is off?
Kendall: I was packed up to go stay with Greenlee for a few nights. I didn't want her to be alone.
Zach: She's lucky to have you.
Kendall: Yeah, whatever. See you around -- or not.
Zach: Kendall -- I meant what I said. The deal was you stay in this marriage until you don't want to anymore. And if that time is now, we'll end it -- tonight.
Kendall: You want to end our marriage? Is that what you're saying?
Zach: I don't know. It's been working for me business-wise. Casino's doing well, and you've been a great asset.
Kendall: Well, I'm so glad I could help you. Call me if you need an extra keno girl.
Zach: You all right? So -- Kendall Hart, afraid of thunder?
Kendall: No. No, of course not. I -- my mom and my sister -- they don't like storms. Ahem -- it reminds them of --
Zach: What's it remind you of?
Kendall: Thunder and lightning brings me back to the night we almost lost Bianca, the night that she had Miranda, and then everything went to hell.
Zach: Why don't you come inside until the storm's over?
Kendall: No, I'm -- I'm fine. I don't -- I don't need to do that. I really just want to -- I want to forget the whole night. When I think I have -- I think I've erased it from my mind -- and then more thunder, and then I go right back to where I was. And now, with Ryan gone -- will every storm rain down pain on me forever? You know, I have enough going on. I have enough things in my life, so I think divorce would just be more of a hassle. Maybe we should just stay married. We should definitely stay married.
Amanda: Ugh. Let go!
Aidan: Are you going to behave yourself now?
Amanda: Oh -- do I have a choice? You'll probably whip out your junior spymaster cuffs, put me in a chokehold or a headlock.
Aidan: You can do all your complaining at the police station. Let's go.
Amanda: Oh, I will. You know, I probably have bruises. Assault, battery --
Aidan: Uh-huh? Yeah?
Amanda: No -- Aidan, that's my mom.
Aidan: Oh, come on. Sure, it is, yeah.
Amanda: No, I can tell by the ring.
Aidan: No, you get a call at the police station. You can call her then.
Amanda: Aidan, please -- please, please. This is not a joke. It's not a game. My mom is sick. If you don't let me answer it, she'll get worried. Please, Aidan. Thank you. Hey, Mom, I'm sorry it took me so long. Well, what? Slow down. What's wrong? Mom, relax. Are -- are you taking your medicine? Ok, you wouldn't kid a kidder, would you? Mom, I can't come home. You know -- you know I'm going to school. Mom, you have Daddy. He's great to you. I did not leave because I don't love you. You know I do. To the moon and back, like always. Mom, I have to do this. No, Mom, do not listen to her. Put the mirror down. Mom. Mom. Mom?
Garret: Don't try to turn this on me. You might be able to fast-talk Dani, but you can't play me.
Josh: I get you want to score points with Danielle's mom, but you should pull back.
Garret: When I marry Mimi, Danielle will become my responsibility.
Josh: So you start running her life now?
Garret: I'm going to protect her.
Josh: She doesn't need protection from me, but maybe from you.
Garret: Huh. You're slick. Yeah, you're slick. But I hope you listen as well as you talk. This is a warning. If you compromise Danielle again, I'll come looking for you. And you'll wish you had protection.
Josh: I'll make sure to pencil you in.
Garret: Don't flip me off. I will find you. And I'll make sure you never hurt Danielle again.
Danielle: Everything ok here?
Josh: Just getting acquainted. Thanks. Keep the change.
Garret: You should go now. Don't want your food to get cold.
Josh: You need anything, call me.
Garret: You should stay away from him.
Danielle: Ugh -- oh, don't even start with the "shoulds" and the "don'ts." I don't need any help from you, and neither does Josh.
Garret: He needed to know where I stand.
Danielle: You stand back. You don't harass my friends, you don't choose my friends, and you definitely don't dis my friends. We clear?
Garret: From what just went down, Josh is not your friend.
J.R.: So you think that I owe Babe, because she had so much trouble having our son?
Di: It's not about owing, J.R. She's Little Adam’s mother. You're so busy with the blame, you forget -- Babe was a victim, too. She lost her son the same night that she brought him into this world.
J.R.: Yeah, but what did she do when she got him back? Did she share that joy? No, hell, no. She let me think that he was dead, and she convinced my brother to help her kidnap him.
Di: It was wrong.
J.R.: I mean, Jamie and I -- we always had each other's backs until Babe.
Di: Well, that night, with the storm, the helicopter crash, Babe and Bianca missing with their babies -- where was your brother? Where was Jamie?
J.R.: He was with me, searching.
Di: Because he wanted to help you, J.R., because he loves you. He still does. You still love him.
J.R.: No, not after what he's done to me.
Di: Just stop it, stop it. I mean, you've given it a heck of a try. So has Jamie. But neither one of you will ever convince me that you hate each other. You just don't.
Jamie: Of course I trust you.
Babe: Well, you're sure not acting like it.
Jamie: Because I don't want to leave you an open target to J.R.?
Babe: I can take care of myself, Jamie. I am a grown woman. I did it before I met you, I can do it again.
Jamie: And what if J.R. drugs you again? Then what? He'd do anything to hurt you.
Babe: Do you want to know what hurts me most? Next to missing Little Adam? This. You not in school studying to save lives -- stuck.
Jamie: So you want me to move away from you? Give up? To give J.R. the --
Babe: You are so stubborn, Jamie. Can't you see that no matter what, we win, because we love each other. And one day, we're going to win again, because you're going to be standing there holding that diploma, and I'm going to be right by your side smiling with pride. Let us do this, Jamie. I love you.
Jamie: I love you.
Lily: So did you explain to Kendall about the ghost?
Zach: Yeah. Our secret's safe. She's not going to tell Greenlee.
Lily: Well, that's good. Kendall's way better at keeping secrets than I am. Like when she got married to you.
Zach: Well, let's hope she holds on to this one a little longer.
Lily: I hope so, too. I don't want anyone else to get upset about the ghost.
Zach: You got a real knack for spotting them. So tell me a little more about the ghost you saw at Wildwind.
Lily: I didn't see a face or a body. Sam doesn't think it was his father. But if it wasn't Edmund's ghost, then whose was it?
Aidan: You want to call her back?
Amanda: It won't do any good.
Aidan: Want to talk about it?
Amanda: You want to play shrink? What, you get a degree from the same mail-order place that made you a PI?
Aidan: No shrinking and no advice. I'm just going to be here as a friend to listen. You're upset.
Amanda: Don't be so polite. You heard that call. Go ahead and say it. I'm a head case just like my mom. That's why I do all the wack things that I do.
Aidan: Look, I don't think you're a head case.
Amanda: Sure you do! I can hear it in your voice. You're talking real slow and real calm, so I don't freak out and start talking to mirrors. But go ahead and tell the police all about it. Then I'll get out on an insanity plea. Hey, it worked for Mom.
Amanda: Come on. What are you waiting for? Take me in. Come on, let's do it.
Aidan: Amanda, I'm not going to take you in.
Amanda: Don't you wuss out on me. Come on, I did the crime, got to do the time, right?
Aidan: You just got out of the hospital, ok? There's going to be a really big storm tonight. Why don't you go home and relax. And no more petty theft. Here, I'll give you some cash.
Amanda: I don't need your money! I don't need anything from you or anyone! I can take care of myself, and I will!
Aidan: Look, I'm just being a friend. I'm trying to help.
Amanda: Go to hell!
Aidan: Oh, come on.
[Someone's watching from behind the trellis.]
Kendall: Anyone? Mother? Val? Anybody here? Guess not. All righty, then. Well, I guess it's going to have to be a surprise.
[Kendall gasps as someone puts his hand on her shoulder.]
Babe: I think we broke a spring.
Jamie: Want to break another one?
Babe: Uh-uh -- you have more important things to do, like apply to med school.
Jamie: Can we just play doctor?
Babe: Please tell me you'll do it, Jamie. Tell me you'll go for it. It's like Mama and I say -- we deserve the best, and together, we can always get it. You deserve the best, Jamie. Let's get it together.
J.R.: You know, you can think whatever you want to think. Jamie and I -- that hate is real.
Di: You got your son. His sweet face -- that's the first thing you see in the morning and the last thing that you kiss at night. I mean, you -- you've got the freedom to do anything in the world that you want. Don't waste it on revenge. Let Babe have a life. Let Jamie wake up to something other than a one-room apartment and piles of bills.
J.R.: It works for me.
Di: J.R., if you let go of some of this anger, you're not just going to give Babe and Jamie their life. You're going to give yourself a better one, too.
Garret: Josh is a real operator.
Danielle: Since when?
Garret: Well, he may seem like he's your buddy, but the only one he's looking out for is himself.
Danielle: He's just trying to be my friend. Why would he have anything to worry about?
Garret: You should have heard him. The guy's afraid since your parents are cops, they'll make his life miserable. He's got this idea that they'll harass him, press charges, make the incident at the beach look like it was against your will.
Danielle: That's not true.
Garret: But they're cops. And a civilian's word against the cops? Josh was a few shades of nervous. But even once I told him that there wasn't any heat, he couldn't wait to get out of here.
Danielle: So the whole "friends" bit -- that -- he just played me?
Garret: Just a way to make nice. All he cares about is saving his own behind. I didn't want to upset you, but I thought you should know. The guy's a real charmer. And you paid for it once. But you learned from it.
Danielle: Wow. I feel like I'm flunking Life 101.
Garret: Hey, Reggie was a lesson, too. But you're -- you're smarter for it. Don't worry. There'll be other guys. Trust me, we're going to find one that's perfect for you.
Josh: Didn't know you were so jumpy.
Kendall: You know what? Why don't you say "Hello" next time before you slap someone on the back? I should smack you.
Josh: It might be safer out in the storm than in here with you.
Kendall: It's not even raining yet. And where the hell is everybody?
Josh: In the studio. We have a première coming up. It's crunch time. You're crunchy enough for everyone.
Kendall: Where is my mother?
Josh: This for her? What's the occasion?
Kendall: We had words.
Josh: Big words or small ones?
Kendall: We had a fight, ok? This is my apology.
Josh: Very sincere. Breakable?
Kendall: Stop. None of your business.
Kendall: Oh, lovely. Great. Ok, it's coming down now. I wanted to make it home before the storm started. I don't even have an umbrella.
Josh: Hold on.
Kendall: Oh. Huh. You are very good.
Josh: I try.
Kendall: Great. Ok. Thank you. Isn't it bad luck to open an umbrella inside? Oh, I cannot believe this. This is not good!
Josh: I guess it's bad luck for your skirt.
Kendall: Ok, no -- stop, stop, don't -- you're going to tear it. You're going to make it worse. Just let me do it. You know, I just bought this thing, too. This is -- this is not good. This is not my day. Don't just stand there. Help me!
Josh: Oh, I love the Kane women. Hold on.
Kendall: Yes, thank you.
Josh: Well, stop wiggling.
Kendall: Well, I -- you -- I'm ticklish.
Josh: Well, don't move. I've almost got it undone.
Kendall: Well, wait a minute.
Greg: What the hell's going on here?
[Walking around Wildwind during the thunderstorm, Zach is surprised by a white “ghost.”
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Erica: I remember the first time I saw you. I felt as if I knew you.
Greg: I suppose now I have to confess everything.
Ethan (to Greenlee): I brought something of Ryan's, something that I don't think I have any right to keep.
Di: Can you go a little slower?
J.R.: I'm trying -- there's something wrong with the brakes.
