All My Children Transcript Tuesday 5/3/05
Proofread by Gisele
Tad: Look, I don't understand. You're sure this was the last place she was in in Germany? Well, if she checked in as a Jane Doe and she survived, I assume she must've checked out as someone else. No, listen, I can't go into it right now. Do me a favor -- just find out whatever you can and stay in touch.
Ryan: I haven't heard from you, Tad. Turn up anything on Erin?
Tad: It's late. aren't you up past your bedtime?
Ryan: Yeah, I had a little run-in with my father-in-law. He slammed it home -- people tend to die around me. It's a little tough to get some sleep.
Tad: Maybe you should try warm milk.
Ryan: I'd rather have answers. What is it, Tad? My sister playing hard-to-get?
Tad: No, not at all. I was able to pick up the trail, but --
Ryan: It's bad news, isn't it?
Brooke: Adam, what are you saying? You're not making any sense. What's wrong? What's -- oh, my God, Adam. Adam, you need help.
Erica: I hope you choke on it. The woman you love, Maria, had a meltdown in front of everyone she knows because of you. Her life is in pieces because of you, and you continue to act as if nothing has happened?
Zach: Maria’s floor show almost brought down the house. You want to thank me, don't you?
Erica: The woman you love is as drunk as a skunk, and she's in your son's room right now. He's about to take advantage of her. Maybe he already has. Zach, you can stop this.
Zach: Maybe she doesn't want it stopped.
Erica: Maria’s loaded. She doesn't know what she wants. But if you don't do anything about this, Maria can wake up in the morning just hating herself, and all because of you, because of your damn pride. I mean, you just let it happen.
Maria: What is wrong?
Ethan: I think you've had a little too much to drink.
Maria: No, isn't that how we can finally be together? Isn't that why you brought me here?
Ethan: I -- I just wanted to make you feel better.
Maria: Then make me feel better. Make me feel better.
[Removing her dress, Maria pulls Ethan down for a kiss in bed.]
[On the Chandler Mansion patio, J.R. and Kendall kiss.]
Kendall: Very tempting.
J.R.: Then let me tempt you more.
Ethan: Are you sure about this?
Zach’s voice: Is this what you want?
Maria: Yes, this is what I want. I love you, Zach.
Jack: Well, Slater. Just the man I was hoping to see.
Zach: Your fiancée could use some quality time.
Jack: You know what? I don't like the way you pick on women and children, so next time you get the urge to pick on somebody, you come find me.
Kendall: Ok. All right, all right. Um -- we've definitely established the temptation factor, yes.
J.R.: There's more where that came from.
Kendall: No, you know, it was nice.
J.R.: "Nice"? Ouch.
Kendall: Very. It was very, very nice, but --
J.R.: But what?
Kendall: I've been here.
J.R.: Not with me you haven't.
Kendall: I don't care -- you, Ethan, the man in the flippin' moon. It doesn't matter. I'm tired of being stupid.
J.R.: It didn't feel stupid to me. As a matter of fact, it felt right.
Kendall: "Right," as in you're completely cool if I marry Zach?
J.R.: Absolutely, with certain conditions.
Kendall: Right. Ok, you get your fair share of me?
J.R.: Slice of heaven, for both of us. Look, are we done with this talking part?
Kendall: No, I can't -- no, no, what am I doing? What am I doing?
J.R.: Wait a minute. Don't panic, ok? I know this might seem like a radical concept to you, but it's what ordinary people like to call fun.
Kendall: No. No. An ordinary woman would've just married Ethan. She wouldn't have married his father. She wouldn't even consider it. And if she did, she -- she would at least pretend to fall for the guy. And then there's you, and here I am, I'm having all sorts of thoughts that are so far from rational. Will I ever be like other people?
J.R.: God, I hope not.
Zach: What's going on? You seem upset.
Jack: Your son hired me to defend Cambias Industries against your pathetic attempt to overturn your father's will.
Zach: Nothing but the best for Ethan. Good luck to you.
Jack: How long have your casinos been closed, Zach? Money must be getting a little tight, huh? Hate to see you waste any of it on a court case you just can't win, so I tell you what, I have a proposal. Why don't we solve this by you and I taking it outside, right through there to that alley?
Erica: Jack, Zach has somewhere to be.
Jack: Well, I certainly hope it's Las Vegas. You know, we could all chip in, get you a nice one-way ticket -- coach, of course.
Zach: That is the nicest thing anyone's said to me all day. And, Jackson, I appreciate it, but I have a lot of things to do in Pine Valley.
Jack: Well, at least let me pick up the valet, and then we could tell Kendall you said, "Goodbye, have a nice life."
Erica: Jack, please. Zach has to go and -- and get Maria. Please go get Maria.
Jack: Oh, I think Zach’s done quite enough for Maria, don't you? Your poison destroyed her marriage, led to her husband's death. So what do you want to do now, go upstairs and gloat? Make sure Maria has absolutely nothing because she rejected you?
Erica: Jack, Ethan has taken Maria up to his room like some kind of a trophy in their demented war. Zach has got to stop it.
Jack: Oh, I see. You want to roll in, play the hero, and give Maria’s heart just one more twist, huh?
[Ethan pulls away from a disappointed Maria.]
Maria: Wait, wait, wait. What?
Ethan: No, I -- I may be a lot of things, Maria, but I can't do this.
Maria: I know the man you are, Zach, and it's all right. It's all right.
Ethan: I'm not the man you want.
Maria: Yes, you are. You are the most amazing man I have ever known, and I want you so much.
Ethan: Listen, you know what, it's late --
Maria: Wait, wait, wait!
Ethan: And you've had a lot to drink and you're going to have a rough morning, ok?
Maria: Come back to bed, please? Come back and be with me.
Ethan: Maria, just -- just get some rest, ok? You don't realize what you're saying.
Brooke: This is an emergency. I need an ambulance. I'm with a gentleman who just suddenly became weak and became incoherent.
Adam: What the hell are you doing?
Brooke: What are -- are you ok?
Adam: Why -- why wouldn't I be?
Brooke: Because we were just in the -- we were just in the middle of a discussion, and all of a sudden you couldn't speak, and when you were trying to speak, you didn't make any sense.
Adam: That's ridiculous.
Brooke: Do you know who I am?
Adam: Yes, you're my favorite ex-wife. You remember the time I brought the champagne over to your house, and we had a delightful little affair?
Brooke: Ok. Enough.
Adam: Are you satisfied? I'm not senile. You want dementia? Call Palmer.
Brooke: Well, you sound normal.
Adam: How much have you had to drink?
Brooke: Is this your first attack that you've had?
Adam: Brooke, there is no attack. No attack, no, except from you.
Brooke: Would you stop, all right, trying to make believe that everything is fine? I think maybe you might have just had a minor stroke.
Tad: I was able to track down one Erin Lavery -- right age, from Iowa, working for a major company in Texas. They faxed me that. That's her?
Ryan: Yeah, that's her.
Tad: Congratulations. She's a pretty girl.
Ryan: Don't stop now.
Tad: Guy I spoke to said she was one hell of a rising star. I mean it, man, she had corporate accounts, she had a couple of promotions, several bonuses, and she was very popular.
Ryan: "Was," Tad. You keep saying "was." What happened to her?
Tad: A couple of months ago, Erin came east on a business trip to Wilmington. She never went back.
Ryan: Wilmington? That's, like, less than an hour away, right?
Ryan: So if Erin was there less than -- or about two months ago, that's when Jonathan was in his full flame-out, Tad.
Tad: Ryan --
Ryan: You tell me right now, did he get her, too? Did he kill -- did he kill Erin, too?
Tad: You got to put the brakes on this kind of thinking, ok? The company reported her missing. That's a long way from writing an obituary.
Ryan: In case you haven't noticed, when a Lavery goes missing, Tad, it's usually fatal.
Tad: People go missing for all kinds of reasons, not because they stopped breathing, ok? For instance, I don't care how good she was at her job, maybe she hated it. Maybe she got a better offer, decided, you know, she was going to do a little corporate raiding, took some company secrets.
Ryan: White-collar crime? That would be a step up for a Lavery, wouldn't it?
Tad: Ok, then, fine, she was behind on some huge debt or maybe she wanted to get away from the wrong guy.
Ryan: Want to do this all night, Tad?
Tad: I could. Look, there's no accident report, there's no rumors of foul play. You know how many scenarios are floating around in my mind that don't involve the word "dead"?
Ryan: Should I start making up stories, too?
Tad: No, I think maybe you should be grateful, because your sister has only been gone two months. It hasn't been, like, three years. Just do me a favor, ok -- just don't jump to the wrong conclusions or the worst-case scenario, not right now, not in front of me.
Ryan: She's a Lavery, Tad. Kind of narrows the odds.
Tad: You know, I just don't have the energy to battle your family curse right now. I got a friend in Wilmington. I can make a phone call, start scratching around, see what I can come up with. Are you on board?
Tad: I'll find her. Missing doesn't mean dead.
Ryan: Because they haven't found her body yet?
Jack: So what do you say we negotiate a settlement? You get a little chunk of Cambias change, and you go back to Vegas, never to return, and without Kendall. That way everybody's happy, including Maria.
Zach: Is it just me or does it seem a little early to be snapping orders like a father-in-law? You haven't even married Mom yet.
Jack: My God, I don't like that man.
Erica: Ugh. Jack, just -- just please.
Jack: But you seem to be up to your neck in this thing. Now, you know that Zach should be nowhere near Maria right now.
Erica: Oh, I can think of a lot worse places he could be.
Jack: Ok, do you honestly believe that siccing Zach on Maria is going to help in any way? I mean, where the hell is your head?
Erica: Maria needs him. And if Zach goes back to Maria, then Kendall will be safe.
Kendall: To ordinary, stable, traditional.
J.R.: Nah, it's too overrated. To you. May you never, ever be even close to any of those things. You know, if it's any consolation, after Babe, you're a walk in the park. A beautiful, beautiful walk in the park.
Kendall: Don't try to make me feel better. You've had a front-row seat to every single one of my stunts.
J.R.: Oh, what, the fake pregnancy, the fake marriage? Don't make me choose my favorite. No, but seriously, I mean, good, bad, right or wrong, I get a rush out of watching you in action.
Kendall: So you -- you don't really care that I'm out there?
J.R.: I'd rather be out there with you than stuck in a little shoebox somewhere.
Kendall: Well, I wouldn't mind giving a safe little shoebox a try.
J.R.: You'd drive a safety net right into a straitjacket. Kendall, you are extraordinary. You're an amazing, courageous, exciting woman. Now, why would you want to stuff all that down just to be ordinary?
Kendall: I don't know. I just thought it might be easier.
J.R.: If you want to be ordinary, go back and marry Ethan.
Ethan: Have some, have some.
Maria: I don't get it. Why did you bring me here? If we're not going to make love, at least --
Ethan: I would've taken you straight home, but you were in no condition to travel.
Maria: Oh, am I that big a mess? Am I?
Ethan: You're a lovely mess.
Maria: Then why don't you want me?
Ethan: Because you want Zach, Maria.
Maria: You're not Zach. Where's Zach?
Ethan: It's ok.
Ethan: It's ok.
Maria: Where is he?
Zach: I'm right here. Did you touch her?
Ethan: Well, you know us English. We never tell on a lady.
Maria: That's Zach. There he is. You're not. That's Ethan. I'm glad you're here.
Zach: She's been through enough tonight.
Ethan: What do you care, hmm?
Zach: I think you need to get away from her.
Ethan: Let me try that again -- what do you care? See, that's what happens when you propose to somebody else. You can't -- you guys, you can't be together. It's in the "forsaking all others" part.
Maria: Well, he's not going to still -- you're not going to marry Kendall, are you? Don't marry Kendall, please?
Ethan: Maria wants me to stay, don't you, Maria? Actually, she asked me to help her, not you.
Maria: Oh, my God, what happened to my dress?
Ethan: She knows what she wants.
Maria: Ok, I found it!
Ethan: I would never hurt her. To be honest, that's more kind of like the other way around. I mean, look at my shirt. There's hardly a button left.
[Zach physically throws Ethan out of the room and locks the door.]
Maria: Ow, ow, ow!
Jack: Look, Maria is more than a little drunk, and I don't think she should be at the mercy of a man like Zach Slater.
Erica: Or his son.
Jack: Hasn't Slater caused her enough grief, Erica?
Erica: Jack, I tried to help Maria tonight, but she won't let me help her, and there's just so much I can do. So now it's up to Zach. I have to let Zach take care of that problem. But most of all, I care about Kendall. It's Kendall I definitely will protect at all cost. You remember Kendall, don't you, your soon-to-be stepdaughter?
Jack: I want to protect Kendall just as badly as you do, Erica.
Erica: Well, earlier in the evening, you just seemed much more interested in protecting Maria.
Jack: Maria is a friend --
Erica: Thank you.
Jack: Edmund's wife, and she has been slammed from all sides.
Erica: I know.
Jack: Thank you. Look, right now her family's in shreds. She just imploded in front of half of Pine Valley. She's all alone. She doesn't know where to go, who to turn to.
Erica: Well, if someone ever dared to do to you what was done to Edmund, I would hunt them down, I would string them up, and then I would just try to do my best to live my life. And I hope you would do the same for me. I mean, we're supposed to be on the same side.
Jack: We are on the same side, Erica. Didn't you hear me tell Slater to stay the hell away from Kendall?
Erica: Jack, I wanted you to talk to Kendall about that marriage stunt, not Zach, because Kendall might've listened to you. But with Zach, I mean, now you've just set his anger in stone. Heaven knows what he's going to do next.
Jack: I can handle Slater, and I can handle Kendall.
Erica: Oh, it would be just so much easier if you would think like a woman.
Jack: Excuse me?
Erica: You threatened Zach. Zach will tell Kendall. Kendall will defend Zach. I mean, you might as well have just walked her down the aisle.
Jack: I set him straight is what I did.
Erica: By inviting him to have a brawl in the back alley?
Jack: He's lucky I asked him as nicely as I did.
Erica: Will you listen to yourself? I mean, ok, I mean, I can understand when you defend Lily and Greenlee. They're your children. But Maria? Why? Why do you want to be her hero?
Jack: Because I am sick and tired of women's lives being destroyed by men who won't give a damn about anything or anyone but themselves!
Erica: Well, this isn't about Maria at all. This is about Greenlee and Ryan.
Ryan: Erin was the most -- she just was the most beautiful little girl, always laughing. If boys could do it, then she could do it even better. I mean, she did it faster and more of it, totally fearless, got into everything, stood up to anyone.
Tad: How old was she the last time you saw her?
Ryan: She was about 5.
Tad: Did you stay in touch with her in any way?
Ryan: I barely gave her a thought. What kind of person does that, Tad? What kind of brother does that? I totally left her. God knows what could've happened to her.
Tad: Why? Was your father tough on her, too?
Ryan: No. Complete opposite. He gave Jonathan the poisoned sandwiches. He gave Erin, like, the princess treatment. Imagine how that made Jonathan feel, having that shoved in your face every single day. And, of course, I was to my own life too much, didn't want to think about it, didn't want to go back.
Tad: Doesn't mean you didn't care. Stop beating yourself up.
Ryan: All those years, Jonathan took the abuse, and Erin could do no wrong. He must have hated her. And we know, Tad, when Jonathan hates, people die.
Adam: All right, stop with the diagnosis! Let's -- let's get back to what's really important.
Brooke: This is important. A TIA, a transient ischemic attack. It's a minor stroke, Adam. It may only happen for a couple of seconds, but it's serious and you need to be checked out.
Adam: This is ludicrous. I had that stroke years ago. You were there. You helped me through it.
Brooke: Well, what do you think accounted for what just happened?
Adam: I don't know, the alcohol, the champagne, the moon, you?
Brooke: Do you know what your blood pressure is?
Adam: How am I supposed to know that?
Brooke: When was the last time you saw your doctor?
Adam: I don't remember.
Brooke: Are you taking your medication?
Adam: You've had an abysmal night. I brought you here to make you feel better. Now, why do you find it impossible to let anyone try to help you?
Brooke: You're not taking your medication, are you?
Adam: Hmm. You feel vulnerable, so you trot out this mother hen act. Well, it's not going to work. You're not going to make this night about me.
Brooke: All right, you know what -- this is it. You have to see a doctor now, tonight.
Adam: No, you are not my wife anymore. I've never felt healthier or stronger in my life. Nothing is happening to me.
Brooke: This is not the first time that this has happened, is it?
Adam: All right, that's it. Evening's over. I'm taking you home.
Brooke: Like hell you are. I am taking you to the ER.
Adam: Oh, no, you're -- no. Terrible lighting, those uncomfortable chairs, all those long, mournful faces. No, no, all I need is a good night's sleep, probably, unfortunately, alone. Unless --
Brooke: Would you stop it? I just lost one man I love! I am not going to lose another!
Adam: Do you mean that? Do you love me?
Brooke: I'm not going to lose anybody else, even you! Let's go!
Adam: Brooke --
Brooke: I mean it! If you don't let me take you to the ER, I'm going to really knock you silly, and then you're going to really need an ambulance, all right? So what's it going to be? Are you going to cooperate?
Adam: You've got one hell of a bedside manner there, lady.
Brooke: Is that a yes?
Adam: All right, yes, I'll go quietly, just for you.
Brooke: Let's go. Let's go, let's go, let's go.
Kendall: You know how to show a girl a good time.
J.R.: You have no idea.
Kendall: Hmm. and you're -- you're very, very sincere, even about being bad.
J.R.: I meant every word.
Kendall: Just to have sex with me?
J.R.: Is it working?
Kendall: Yeah. Too well. I -- I should go.
J.R.: Now, hold on a second. Ok, it's not like we have to jump in the sack.
Kendall: Ok, what, the stairs, the kitchen, the rotunda?
J.R.: No, we don't have to do anything. I'm fine with just hanging out.
Kendall: Right. Ok, so you have the wine, the candles, the music just to hang out? You're interested in a lot more than hanging out.
J.R.: It's a shame to waste all that beauty on an empty bed in an empty condo.
Kendall: What do you have in mind?
J.R.: I want you to take all your clothes off.
[From the bed, Maria looks up adoringly at Zach.]
Maria: It is you. You are here.
Zach: I am now. How you feel?
Maria: Oh my God, like someone I don't want to know. I don't.
Zach: It'll pass.
Maria: Yeah, very good. I was so horrible to you. I was really horrible to you. Like, over and over again, I was. I was --
Zach: Well, that's behind us now.
Maria: It is? I mean, is it all behind us? Because I -- I had a dream like this before, and you come and you tell me that you love me, and you take all this away from all of this stuff. And then we get to start over again and make it good this time and do it right this time. Is that what -- because I love you. I love you. I never stopped loving you. So are we -- is this it? Is it where we get to be together again? Are we going to make love?
Maria: Do you not want me anymore? Yes, you do. Yes, you do. Yeah, you do. You still want me. Don't you?
Ethan: Simone. Still here?
Simone: Yeah. Glad to see me, aren't you? You want to tell me about it?
Ethan: I got locked out of my room.
Simone: Ah. Well, if you get me a needle and thread, I can sew your buttons back on for you.
Ethan: I'm fine.
Simone: Would you like a drink, then?
Ethan: No, thank you. Listen, I need to find Kendall, actually. Know where she is?
Simone: You know, I hope Kendall remembers just how lucky she is to have a guy like you. I mean, you are a gentleman, and you love her no matter what she does, where she goes, or who she does it with.
Ethan: Exactly whom is Kendall doing what with?
Simone: Did I say anything? Hmm. No, stop. Don't look at me like that.
Ethan: Simone, tell me where Kendall is.
Kendall: As much as I love to strip on command, I'll pass. Besides, it's a bit chilly to bare all.
J.R.: I just thought you might want to relax. The stars are out. And that hot tub is 90 degrees and climbing.
Kendall: And then what?
J.R.: And then I'll just watch. No touching, I promise. Are you in?
Kendall: I'm deciding if I can trust you or not.
J.R.: Scout's honor. You know, another thing that I like about you is the fact that you know me better than anyone. So for tonight, it's your rules. Whatever you want, I'll go with it, just as long as you stay.
[Kendall begins to remove her clothing.]
Singer: I'm with you I'm addicted to you can't see through you can't seem to quit this drug you've got me hooked feel the need feel the heat feel the heat when I'm with you I'm with you
Jack: Erica, I know how you feel about Ryan, but he is out of control. He almost took my head off in there.
Erica: Jack, Ryan and Greenlee's marriage is between Ryan and Greenlee.
Jack: But the problem is Greenlee cannot see him for what he is.
Erica: How would you feel if someone said that about us? How would you feel if someone dared to say that we didn't belong together?
Mary: I'd be thrilled.
Palmer: Down, Mary, down.
Erica: Oh, isn't it past your bedtime?
Palmer: I believe it is, yes.
Mary: I thought Ryan was vicious and insulting tonight, and don't let Erica influence you. Greenlee needs your protection.
Erica: Maybe from you, but not from Ryan.
Mary: Jack and I love our daughter, Erica, and we want what's best for her. Her head is too lost in the clouds to see what Ryan really is.
Jack: All right, Mary, I'm handling this.
Mary: No, I'm serious, I think it took great courage for you to stand up to Ryan like that. You said what needed to be said, you didn't back down, and I thought he was going to punch you right in the face.
Palmer: Mary, Mary, come along. Our champagne will be getting warm.
Mary: Well --
Erica: Well. Hey, Jack? If you're on the same side with Mary, don't you think that says something?
Jack: Don't, don't.
Erica: Don't you think you might want to rethink this position?
Jack: Don't. Don't push me on this.
Erica: Jack, no matter what you could say or do, nothing can harm a marriage that works.
Jack: Greenlee's AWOL. He has no idea where she is right now. Does that sound like a marriage that's working?
Erica: They've had a really traumatic experience, and all they need is they need a little time to work through it.
Jack: They are about as far apart as two people can get, Erica.
Erica: But they love each other, and they're going to find their way back to each other, Jack. Really, you've got to just leave it alone.
Jack: Let it go? While you put Zach on a collision course with Maria?
Erica: Ryan is hardly a Cambias. Ryan's had a bad stretch, that's all. Jack, please, you have to promise me that you will let Ryan and Greenlee work out their own problems. And while you're at it, you work on your own.
Jack: I know what I'm doing.
Erica: Attacking Ryan because he's the only Lavery left standing?
Jack: This is more than guilt by association, Erica, a hell of a lot more.
Erica: Yes, it certainly is. You want to punish Ryan, because you couldn't punish Braden and Jonathan.
Ryan: If I had just tried a little harder to stay in touch with her --
Tad: You were trying to survive, Ryan. You were trying to protect yourself. Whatever happened to your sister is not your fault. You just weren't there, that's all.
Ryan: That's my point. Tad, all I had to do was pick up a phone or write her a letter or send her an email. I mean, how hard is that?
Tad: You know what, it's late. Let's get something to eat.
Ryan: I'm not hungry.
Tad: Yeah, well, I am. You know, and I need you to tell me everything you can remember about Erin. If we're going to find her, we're going to need some kind of game--
Tad: We'll turn up something, ok? I promise. Tad Martin. Jamie, you ok? Are you -- you're sure? All right. Uh, just take care of her, don't go anywhere. I'll -- I'll be there as soon as I can get there, all right? I got to go. That's my –
[When Tad turns around, Ryan is gone.]
Zach: A man would have to be a fool not to want you. What you need tonight is some sleep. Morning's going to be rough enough.
Maria: I do love you.
Zach: Just lay back, get some rest, ok?
Maria: Mmm. Am I Maureen now, Zach? I'm Maureen.
Zach: No. You're Maria.
Ethan: I need to find Kendall, so friend to friend, tell me where she is.
Simone: You know, why don't we go get another one of your room keys, and then you can change your shirt, and we could, like, go to breakfast.
Ethan: My room is not an option.
Simone: Oh. Well, if you need a place to crash, you know, my door's open policy. I don't have any jammies that fit you, but I'm sure we could work something out.
Ethan: Simone, that's very sweet, but would you please just tell me where Kendall is?
Simone: Why do you want to do that? You are such a nice guy, and you're cute. We've already had such a heck of a night. God, you missed all kinds of stuff. If you found out that Kendall’s with J.R., I mean, it would only make you feel -- God. Man, every time!
[After a dip in the hot tub, J.R. and Kendall are in their robes.]
Kendall: No, no, stop it, stop it!
J.R.: I'm just getting started!
Kendall: No more, no more!
J.R.: Come on, let's get back in the water.
Kendall: What the hell kind of animal were you drawing on my back?
J.R.: It -- it was a frog.
Kendall: A frog?
J.R.: Started as a frog. But that doesn't matter because you -- you are a work of art.
Kendall: Yes, well, I've had a little bit too much of this cold air tonight.
J.R.: All right. Now, here's your clothes. Get dressed. I'll take you home.
Kendall: Ahem. And miss out on your next artistic venture? Let me give you a bigger canvas to work with.
[Laughing, J.R. picks up Kendall and carries her into the house.]
Brooke: I want you to sit --
Brooke: And I want you to stay.
Adam: Just say you want me.
Brooke: Oh, you're impossible. You're going to be checked out from top to bottom if it takes all night.
Jamie: Mom. Thank God you're here.
Brooke: Oh, honey. Are you ok? What are you doing here?
Jamie: I tried your cell, I left messages.
Brooke: I didn't listen to them. What happened?
Jamie: It's Aunt Phoebe. Aunt Phoebe and I were playing cards. She was winning, as usual, and grilling me about my future. All of a sudden, she had trouble breathing. I called Grandpa Joe. He sent an ambulance.
Adam: I know the best pulmonary man in the country. I'll call him.
Brooke: Well, where is she? I want to be with her.
Jamie: You can't.
Brooke: Why not? I mean, where's Joe? He'll let me see her.
Jamie: She's in intensive care. Mom, they don't know if she's going to make it.
Maria: What are you doing way over there? Come over here. Come back to bed. You know I sleep better if I can curl up on your chest.
Zach: God, you're beautiful.
Maria: Come on. Come to bed.
Zach: Ah, I'm fine here watching you.
Maria: Oh, you're being silly.
Zach: You're not going to remember any of this.
Maria: If you come to bed I will. I got my memory back.
Zach: I know. I'm sorry.
Winifred: Oh, Mr. Cambias. Oh, you -- you frightened me.
Ethan: Oh, I'm sorry, Winifred. The house was dark and I -- I saw these lights. Uh, is Kendall here?
Winifred: Yes, sir.
Ethan: She's with J.R.? All right, you know, I'm just going to go --
Winifred: Oh, I'm sorry, Mr. Cambias. Mr. Chandler asked not to be disturbed. Um, he's -- they've retired for the evening, sir.
[Seeing Winifred carrying Kendall’s clothes, Ethan gets the message.]
Erica: Jack, I know what Braden did to your sister and how Jonathan terrorized Lily and Greenlee.
Jack: He could've killed them.
Erica: And you were in a rage to protect them, to get justice, to punish Braden and Jonathan. But you were cheated out of your revenge, and now you're very angry.
Jack: You know what? Come on, I'll take you home.
Erica: No, Jack, this anger with no place to put it, it's making you crazy.
Jack: I said enough. Now, let's get out of here, shall we?
Erica: No, thank you. I'll find my own way home.
Jack: Whoa, whoa, whoa. I'm not going to let you -- I'm not going to leave you all alone in a bar, ok?
Erica: Jack, I have faced my nightmares and I'm in control. I suggest you think about your own.
[Ryan knocks on someone's door then meekly enters the room.]
Woman: I thought you'd be back.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Brooke (to Tad and Adam): She's gone.
J.R. (to Kendall): That was one of Ethan’s flunkies. I've just been fired.
Di (to David): Your daughter is about to blow your plan for the return of Dixie sky-high.
Maria (to Zach): This is Ethan’s room, isn't it?
