All My Children Transcript Monday 4/25/05

Tad: Admit it. You set me up. You think you throw out enough clues that Dixie's out there somewhere alive, I'm going to roll over on Liza and Colby. This thing's got your malignant fingerprints all over it.
Adam: No, no, one more time. I had nothing to do with the clues about Dixie. Now, I want you out of here.
Tad: I'm not going anywhere, not till you look me in the eye and tell me the truth.
Adam: No, I have other things to do. I have to try to convince my son that I had nothing to do with this!
J.R.: How are you the answer to my prayers?
Di: Invite me in and I'll tell you.
Autumn: Shh, shh. Hey, Lily. Read all about it. It says here you know that psycho-killer Jonathan Lavery was offing people, and you didn't do anything. Doesn't that make you an accomplice or something? Figures you'd be on his side. You're both freaks.
Lily: I solved the case.
Autumn: No, you didn't. You blew it, loser. What are you going to do, start counting? One body, two body, three body --
Lily: I solved the case. I solved the case.
Autumn: We knew you were weird. Turns out you're terminally stupid, too.
Autumn: Try not to kill anybody else today.
Maria: Whatever you have to say about Zach you keep to yourself, ok? I am done with you.
Ethan: Zach was here with Kendall.
Maria: Your girlfriend, your problem.
Ethan: He proposed. Zach asked Kendall to marry him.
Kendall: Well, Ryan couldn't have gone far.
Greenlee: He was just here.
Kendall: Ok, well, then let's find him. Let's go and find him.
Zach: Can I help?
Greenlee: No! You messed up Ryan once, so not again. Just back off.
Fire Chief: Mr. Lavery, how are you doing?
Ryan: You're clearing out?
Fire Chief: We did everything we could to recover your brothers' bodies.
Ryan: But Jonathan is -- is still in there. I mean, there's got to be something else you can do.
Fire Chief: Sorry. We tried to drop pilings to reinforce the shorings --
Jonathan: But the cave-in was more extensive than we thought. The area's just too unstable. Braden and I are dust. You happy now? I'm sorry. That was uncalled for. You're not happy that Braden and I are dead. Got kind of crazy, huh? Life is bananas, Ry. You thought Braden hated you? He loved you. And you thought I loved you, but I hated your guts. And you, this whole time, trying to protect Hockett. Poor little Hockett. Help little Hockett. Trying to help me make something of myself, and I just wanted to slam the life out of you. I mucked that up like everything else. You know why I hate you so much? You left me to choke on poison sandwiches. Dad killed what was ever good in me. The Hockett who loved you and what was left -- you killed that. Remember what you said to me, bro? You'd save me? You didn't save me, or Braden. How does that feel, Ryan? How does it feel to be the last of the Laverys? Can you even take care of yourself?
Sam: Whoa! I didn't mean to scare you.
Ryan: What are you doing here?
Sam: I had to see the place where he died. Thanks.
Ryan: For what?
Sam: For taking out the guy who killed my dad.
Greenlee: You knew Jonathan shot Ryan. You knew he poisoned me, you knew he killed Edmund, but you said nothing. Ryan asked you for the truth. We both did. You danced around it.
Zach: I thought it was Braden, not Jonathan -- same as Ryan.
Greenlee: Ryan wanted to believe in Jonathan, and you just wanted to play your stupid games. You messed up Maria, Edmund, and Ryan, and now you're going to mess up Ethan, and you're using Kendall to do it.
Kendall: He's not using me.
Greenlee: He proposed to you to stick it to his son. How can you be so stupid? You're not that desperate.
Kendall: I'm not stupid or desperate. Now, pack in your little tantrum.
Greenlee: I'm trying to save you from making the biggest mistake of your life.
Kendall: What, you freaked out because Ryan took off, ok? Lay off Zach and worry about your own life.
Greenlee: Flip off. I'm going to call Joe Martin and see if hospital security can help me find my husband.
Greenlee: Dr. Martin, please.
Kendall: What the hell is wrong with you? She's got enough problems. You had to make it worse?
Zach: Hey, I was trying to help.
Kendall: Yeah, well, a little too late there. If you suspected Braden, why didn't you say something way back when you were first arrested?
Zach: Because Ryan didn't want to hear the truth. He wouldn't listen to me.
Kendall: Yeah, well, Ryan's a hard case. I'm just sorry it turned out like this.
Zach: Yeah. Oh -- forgot to give you something. There you go. Go ahead, take it.
Kendall: You're good. You're very, very good.
Maria: You accuse Zach of murder, and when that doesn't work, you just move right on to the next accusation. You already tried to use my husband, and now you just think you're going to use the woman that you supposedly love? Pretty twisted.
Ethan: Look, I know that this is hard to believe --
Maria: Look, I don't -- you know, if you have to crush Daddy, do it on your own time. I don't care. I don't -- I've had it with your lies, ok?
Ethan: Yeah, right, of course you don't believe it. I mean, it's outrageous. It's another one of Zach’s stunts, Maria. Only this time, he's roped in Kendall.
Maria: Ok, so then go save her. Leave me alone. Leave me out of it.
Ethan: She hasn't accepted his proposal, yet. But you know my daddy. He can be very convincing.
Maria: Almost as convincing as his son, but I've learned. So take your dirt elsewhere.
Ethan: No, Maria -- no, no, no, no, no, no, ok? You can't walk away. You're a part of this.
Maria: No, this is between you and your dad.
Ethan: I'm not going to let Kendall become his latest victim -- or you.
Maria: What do you not get about "leave me out of it and get lost"?
Ethan: Zach is trying to play me, ok? Just as he played you before. You rejected him, you chose to stay with your husband. What happened? Zach made your husband hate you -- blame you for what Zach did to your marriage, so I tried to stop him --
Maria: Oh, please, don't you dare tell me to try to help me.
Ethan: Look, I blew it, ok? I tried to make Zach pay for what he did to all of us, and I screwed up.
Maria: Oh, my God. Wow, one honest word out of you.
Ethan: And here's another one. Zach’s trying to do the same thing again to both of us, ok? This is another one of his games. He flips Kendall over, and now he's going to use her to hurt me and you, and we can't let him get away with this.
Kendall: Well, you know how to flatter a girl. But Ethan's ring was better.
Zach: Yeah? At least you didn't throw it at me. If you say yes, I'll buy you any ring you want.
Kendall: I thought you weren't going to push me.
Zach: I'm not pushing you. Don't put it on your finger, put it in your pocket. And, you know, take it out and think about what we can accomplish together.
Greenlee: Oh, that is low. Blind her with a rock like that, she won't be able to think straight. You think this is all it takes? Flash a rock the size of Rhode Island, she's yours? As long as I'm around, Kendall will not fall for this stunt.
Zach: Kendall will make whatever choice is best for her.
Greenlee: Don't look at her like that. She's a sucker for that, too. You've screwed up everyone else's life. No way you're screwing up Kendall's.
Kendall: All right, you know what? It's not even on my finger, so drop it.
Greenlee: You want to go another round in the supply closet?
Kendall: You want a swirly in the wash basin?
Zach: Whoa, I'd love to watch this, but I got to go. Think about us.
Greenlee: She won't. She's not that stupid!
Kendall: Would you stop? Stop, ok? Please. Now, let's focus. Ryan is missing. Focus here. What did Joe have to say?
Greenlee: He called the nurses' station. He left about a half an hour ago. Wouldn't wait to be discharged. I tried his cell. No answer.
Kendall: Ok, well, we'll -- we'll look for him. We'll go to your place, we'll start from there, and we'll keep going.
Greenlee: No, no, he wouldn't go home.
Kendall: Well, his usual MO is to burn rubber out of town.
Greenlee: I know where he is.
Ryan: Don't thank me, Sam. Your father was a good man. He was a great man.
Sam: Remember when you and Dad taught me how to ride a bike? You loved your brother?
Ryan: I hate what he did.
Sam: Why did he do it? Why'd he kill my dad?
Ryan: Jonathan was sick. And I just couldn't see it. I couldn't see it until it was too late.
Adam: What's going on?
Di: It's not the same.
J.R.: What? What's not the same?
Di: Oh, just not what I was expecting, that's all. From the outside, this place looks so formal. In here, almost cozy.
Adam: Who is this woman?
Di: You get around.
Tad: I was just thinking the same thing.
Adam: You two know each other?
Tad: You changed your hair.
Di: Time for something new.
Adam: Excuse me -- who are you and why are you here?
J.R.: Will you just back off a second, Dad? You have to excuse my father. Lots of money makes up for lack of manners.
Adam: How do you two know each other?
Tad: He's right about the manners thing. The night after Ryan's brother went after him, after the explosion, I took a walk to clear my head. She was there.
Adam: And now you're here. Why?
Di: Are you always this suspicious, or did you just wake up in a bad mood?
Adam: No, I'm -- I'm asking the questions here. And unless you want to be summarily thrown out of my house, I suggest you answer. Why are you here?
Di: I'm here to join your family.
Adam: You want to be part of our family? What in blazes does that mean? Who are you?
Di: My turn for poor manners. Diana Cole. I just came from the nanny agency.
Adam: You scheduled interviews today?
J.R.: No, not yet.
Di: But -- you are looking for a nanny.
J.R.: I am.
Adam: It's a never-ending process.
Di: Not anymore. You have me.
Kendall: What, now you've got nothing to say? Greenlee, the sooner we find Ryan, the sooner I can talk some sense into him.
Greenlee: Maybe this isn't such a good idea.
Kendall: No -- are you still stuck on the whole Zach proposal? Please -- please, can we get over it, ok? I'm not a victim, I'm not being used, I just think outside the box.
Greenlee: Ryan took off without a word. He must just want to be alone. I don't want to push.
Kendall: Since when?
Greenlee: Ryan's head is really messed up right now.
Kendall: Yes, I know, and you're trying to fix it.
Greenlee: A lot of good that's done. Ever since Jonathan died, every time I try to talk to him, I've tanked. He either blows up or he shuts down.
Kendall: Because you don't get it. I do.
Kendall: Look -- look at the family tree. He's got an abusive father, a drunken mother, two whacked-out brothers. Well, no wonder Ryan doesn't want to have kids. The world's full of plenty of nuts. Why add to the party mix?
Greenlee: And you say you're on my side?
Kendall: Greenlee, you've got the ring, but Ryan and I -- we connect on a totally different level. No, no, don't give me that look. I know where Ryan is. I know how he feels. I know what it's like to be related to a mutant freak of nature. Ryan and I -- we're afraid that we carry the monster gene. And there's no way you can ever know what that feels like.
Greenlee: Have you met my mother?
Kendall: Please -- the only thing that your mother gave you was the vanity gene, the shopping gene, and the annoying gene.
Kendall: The point is I can talk Ryan down.
Greenlee: You're ready to sprint down the aisle with Zach. Forgive my doubts about your common sense gene.
Kendall: My life, my choices. Your life sucks if you don't let me help you. Now, you want this baby, I might be your only shot, but you have to give me a chance.
Greenlee: Fine, you want to fix my life? Go ahead. Then I get a shot at yours.
Ryan: I wish to God that I had seen what my brother was sooner.
Sam: Ryan, my dad's murder was not your fault.
Ryan: I was responsible for Jonathan. I made myself responsible.
Sam: You can't control a psycho. Sorry.
Ryan: I would do anything -- I would give anything -- to make up for what my brother did to you and your sister and Maria. Sam --
Sam: Sorry, I got to go.
Ryan: Sam --
Jonathan: Wow. You talk about Ryan getting what he wants -- the kid didn't even blame you. Awesome. Nice speech. But you can't make it up to him, Ryan. You can't bring his dad back. Because Edmund's dead. Just like you can't make it up to me, Ryan. Because I'm dead. And you're going to have to live with that, Ry, for the rest of your life. You're going to have to live with all of it.
Di: I was at the agency waiting to apply, and this woman stomped in on fire about her former employer, Mr. J.R. Chandler.
J.R.: A Mrs. Beltran?
J.R.: She's lucky I let her stay as long as I did.
Di: The way she told it, you were unfair, demanding, a micromanager who's not happy with anything or anyone, a nightmare.
Adam: And yet, here you are.
Tad: Meet nightmare Sr.
Di: Did you really fire a nanny just because she's tone-deaf?
Adam: No, it was her attitude. Very much like yours.
Di: I've heard a lot of stories. Are you really such a pain to work for?
J.R.: Not at all. My son deserves the best, and none of those women came close.
Di: It wasn't for lack of trying. Another thing they all agreed on, though -- your son is something else.
Di: Sweet, smart, good-tempered. That's why I'm here.
Adam: Ah. So you popped open your umbrella and flew over, did you?
Di: I asked Mrs. Beltran for the address and directions. Didn't even bother to register with the agency. Just came straight here to see if you're as ferocious as they all claimed.
J.R.: I'm very protective of my son.
Di: There's nothing wrong with that.
Adam: Well, that's a lovely story. Now I suggest you leave before I have you thrown out, along with Mr. Martin.
Tad: Try it.
J.R.: Ms. Cole is not going anywhere. As long as you're here, would you like to do an interview?
Di: I'd like that.
Adam: Son, that's a waste. Let's go through proper channels.
J.R.: Tad, stick around. I've changed my mind. Once Ms. Cole and I are done, I'd like to hear about those clues.
Adam: Son, please -- this woman could be anyone. You can't just hire a choppy off the street.
J.R.: And I don't give a damn what you think.
Tad: I hope to God you know what you're getting into.
J.R.: Ms. Cole?
Adam: Would you like to rent yourself a nanny?
Tad: No, I'd like to wring your neck.
Adam: Yeah, well, I don't care what J.R. says. I can still throw you out of here.
Tad: Even if you do, I'm going to nail you to the wall for using Dixie like that.
Adam: You idiot! As much as I would love to torment you by presenting the possibility that Dixie's still alive, and see that sparkle of hope flickering in your eyes, and then I could slap it right out with the truth -- that she is still dead. But I would never do that to my son.
J.R.: So, you're interested in the position? Ms. Cole?
Di: I'm sorry. Oh, your house is so beautiful. It's like a museum.
J.R.: Well, I don't really want my son growing up in a museum. I'd more like it to be like home.
Di: You really love your little boy.
J.R.: He's my life.
Di: You know, maybe that older gentleman, your father -- maybe he's right. Maybe you should boot me. I just show up here, announce I'm your new nanny. It's crazy. I just -- I heard the others talking, I had to come.
J.R.: And now that you're here?
Di: I'm glad I did. The answer to your question I yes. I'd like to work here, very much. I don't know why. I just feels right.
[Bell rings at school]
Sam: Lily. Someone I know. I hate this. My mom made me come. Totally reeks. What's wrong?
[Sam spots a poster someone placed in Lily's locker calling her the “Autistic Terminator.”
Sam: This is BS.
Lily: I let people die.
Sam: No, you didn't, Lily. You didn't do anything wrong.
Autumn: You still here, Lily? What's the matter? Can't sound out the big word?
Sam: Why don't you shut up?
Autumn: You're cute. But this is between me and my friend. Isn't that right, terminator?
Lily: Stop! You're too close. You're too close.
Autumn: Tell him, Lily. Tell him how you wanted to be one of us --
Lily: No -- don't.
Autumn: A hot girl. You still want it.
Lily: Go away.
Autumn: You know you do.
Lily: Go away, go away!
Autumn: You see? Hot.
Sam: Leave her alone!
Lily: Go away!
Autumn: You're ice-cold, Lily. You'll never be hot. Feel how hot I am. Ow!
Maria: I will never let you or Zach play me again. And if Kendall wants to get all down and dirty with the two of you, then that's her choice. But I think I'm going to sit this one out, if you don't mind.
Ethan: It's not Kendall's choice, Maria. That's why it's so sick. This is how Zach operates. He ropes us in, and then he pulls us until we choke, ok? With me, he pushed me and pushed me until I hated him. And then he took those feelings, and he used them to manipulate me. With you, it was love. He used this great love that you have to convince you to stop loving your husband.
Maria: No, he didn't. He didn't do any of that. I did it myself. I betrayed Edmund. I destroyed my own marriage.
Ethan: No, you didn't. Don't you see? Zach’s made you feel responsible for all this. He's the one. You were just helpless.
Maria: Please, I don't want to hear any more of this.
Ethan: Maria, you were just stuck in the same trap that Kendall's about to find herself in.
Maria: No, you're the only one that's playing a game right now. There is no way that Zach proposed to Kendall. This doesn't even make sense! It's crazy!
Zach: It's true. For once, my son is telling the truth.
Jonathan: You left me. I needed you. I had no one but you. I waited and I waited for you, but you never came. You called me Hockett. You said you loved me, but you didn't. You let me down. It's what people do that counts, Ryan. And you killed me. You killed me, or you just finished what Dad started.
Ryan: Shut up. Shut up.
Jonathan: I did it for you. All of it, I did for you. But I disappointed you. I asked you for help, and you slammed me against the wall! You said you'd save me and you pulled the trigger. But you didn't really want me here, did you, Ryan? I got in the way of your perfect little life with Greenlee, so you saw your chance and you took it! Problem solved! No more Hockett.
Ryan: Shut up. Shut up. Shut up! Shut up!
Greenlee: Ryan, there you are. I was worried. What's going on?
Ryan: I just need to get a little fresh air.
Greenlee: Well -- well, I freaked out. I mean, you left the hospital, not a word --
Ryan: I'm fine. I don't need to be there.
Greenlee: You don't need to be here, either.
Kendall: She's right.
Ryan: This is where it happened. Jonathan is still in there. I had to come back. I had to say good-bye.
Maria: Leave us alone, Ethan.
Ethan: Maybe that's a bad idea.
Maria: Get out.
Ethan: All right. I'll check on you later.
Maria: Don't bother. So it's true? You just proposed to the woman that your son's in love with?
Zach: The engagement's off. Seems she had a problem with his lies.
Maria: What are you doing? I mean, playing the big man, and you're going to smack down your son, take down Kendall at the same time?
Zach: I'm not hurting Kendall. I've been nothing but honest and open with her. I think she appreciates that.
Maria: Oh, God, anything but honest. You did this for one reason -- you did it for payback. So Ethan’s right.
Zach: He'd love to hear that. Why don't you call him back?
Maria: You did this for one reason -- and you did it to hurt Ethan, to get back at him and me. You could hurt us both, right? Got a two-for-one.
Zach: Believe it or not, this has nothing to do with you.
Autumn: Get off me!
Sam: No, Lily? Lily, you got to stop --
Autumn: Get off me!
Sam: Go over there, go over there.
Autumn: Get off of me!
Lily: All right, all right -- 98, 97, 96, 95 --
Sam: Ok, how can I help you? Are you ok?
Lily: 94, 93, 92, 91 --
Autumn: My nose! I'm bleeding! It's bleeding! My new nose! Call 911! Call an ambulance!
Mrs. Bullard: Get to class. What happened? Who did this to you?
Autumn: Lily! She attacked me!
Lily: 79, 78, 77 --
Mrs. Bullard: Is this true?
Autumn: She's fine. I didn't do anything.
Sam: You were totally in her face.
Autumn: Liar! I swear, Mrs. Bullard --
Sam: You were in her face the whole time! You grabbed her. She -- she started it. She put up this nasty note on Lily's locker.
Mrs. Bullard: Let me see it.
Lily: 65, 64, 63, 62 --
Sam: One of her friends must have taken it.
Autumn: You're a liar. I didn't write a note. He's on Lily's side. He's been cheering her on!
Mrs. Bullard: What's your name?
Sam: Sam Grey.
Mrs. Bullard: You were supposed to start classes today -- this morning, not when you feel like it. My condolences about your father, but difficult as this time is for you, it's not an excuse for this kind of behavior. Lily has special needs, and you obviously weren't helping. Go to the nurse's office, have that looked at. You and Lily -- my office, now.
J.R.: Well, the Wellingtons sure are impressed by you. According to this, all you're missing is a halo and a magic wand. Is this the only reference you've got?
Di: It's the only job I've had. I went straight to work for them out of junior college. The oldest son, Finn, had just been born. I worked for them for 15 years. Only left when the boys went to boarding school. Hmm.
J.R.: You ok?
Di: Yeah. I just -- I loved them so much, you know? Just like my own. The one that -- the youngest son, Spencer, was about 2. He was so scared of lions. He -- he knew that a man-eater was just right outside of his window waiting to just gobble him up every night. And I tried everything. I tried leaving the light on, you know, staying with him until he fell asleep. Nothing worked. One night -- one night, I had an idea. Because I had a leftover burger from dinner. So when Spencer went to bed, I just put --
J.R.: You put the burger outside the room and told him the lion would eat that instead of him.
Di: Yeah. Yeah, right -- right outside the window. God, how did you know that?
J.R.: Well, when I was a boy, it was a tiger, and my mom used to put ham sandwiches outside my bedroom. Just -- funny.
Adam: I detest you to the bone, Martin. In all my dreams of payback that could twist you into tears, I will not use Dixie as bait. That boy feels the pain of her loss every day of his life, and I'm not going to add to it, not even to take you down.
Tad: Since when do you give a damn about collateral damage, as long as you get what you want?
Adam: Damn it, Martin. Whatever you think about me, you know how much I love my son. The day I threaten Dixie's memory is the day I will lose him forever, and I'm not going to let that happen. So if someone is using Dixie to get to you, I swear on the love I have for my son, it's not me.
J.R.: No, thank you for your time. I appreciate it. Wow, Mr. Wellington couldn't rave enough about you. Everything that his wife wrote, he bumped up another couple notches.
Di: He's very kind.
J.R.: Kind? The guy is a barracuda. He eats up small companies for breakfast. You really must have worked some magic in that family.
[Knock on door]
J.R.: And my portion of the interview is done. Now it's time for you to pass the test of another Chandler.
Winifred: He's just up from his nap, Mr. Chandler.
Di: Oh. Hi.
J.R.: I want you to meet little Adam.
Di: Isn't he an angel? Hello! Am I glad to see you. May I?
J.R.: Yeah, sure.
Winifred: Here you go.
Di: Oh. Oh, look at you. I bet you're going to have a pony, aren't you? Would you like that? You look just like your daddy. You know that?
Greenlee: Maybe it's too early to be here. Maybe you need some more time before you take this on. Come to terms with what happened.
Ryan: You don't need to shrink me, Greenlee. I'm fine. And what about you? How are you doing?
Kendall: Well, things have been a little hectic. But aside from a blister, I'm fine.
Ryan: I'm sorry.
Kendall: No, no, blister's my fault. Should have gone with flats.
Ryan: I'm talking about Jonathan and the cave and everything. I didn't --
Kendall: Ryan -- Ryan, I know what you mean. We survived. You saved our lives.
Ryan: Could have gone either way.
Kendall: Yeah, but it went our way. I'm sorry about Jonathan and Braden. But it's over now, Ryan. It really is. It seems like just yesterday I was locking Greenlee in a tower so the two of you wouldn't tie the knot. So much for newlywed bliss, huh? Bullets, bombs, drugs. The bad part is over, Ryan. It ended here. You're free. You're free to have the life that you've always dreamed about with Greenlee, the life that you deserve. And there's no one who can get in your way, no one who can stop you from just going for it. And I expect to be part of that. Godmother at least. Well, you saw me with Miranda. She loves me.
Ryan: You put her up to this.
Maria: Look, I know that every time out of the box, I chose to believe the worst in you, and I did that over and over again, so I understand why you hate me and why you're angry at me.
Zach: I don't hate you, and I'm not that angry.
Maria: You just proposed to a woman that, the last time I checked, didn't even like you! Ok? So I get that I blew it. I blew it and you win.
Zach: Shh. We're not keeping score here. We both made mistakes. We hurt each other. I don't want to hurt you anymore. It's just time to move on, that's all.
Maria: That's all? Come on, you got better than that. Tell me everything. Just lay it out on the table. You can't stand -- can you stand there and look at me and tell me that you don't feel anything? That what we had means nothing at all? That -- can you really just stand there and tell me that you don't love me anymore?
Zach: We've got to stop this. We attack, we bleed. And as soon as we start to heal, we do it all over again. Why can't we just accept that this is done, that it's over?
Maria: Yeah -- um -- oh, definitely. I mean, yeah, it's -- yeah. You know, don't worry, because I -- I have my kids to worry about right now, and I have to get my life back on track.
Zach: And you will with your usual style and grace.
Maria: Yeah. Well, I -- um -- you know, I -- I hope all this works out for you. And I hope that someday that you're -- that you're happy.
Zach: Happiness is an option for me.
Lily: 513, 512, 511, 510, 509 --
Sam: That skunk totally deserved it. I mean, the girl's named after a season. She deserved every punch. You really let her have it.
Lily: I'm supposed to talk about my feelings, I'm not supposed to hit people. I haven't hit anyone for a long time. My dad's going to be so mad at me.
Sam: She was a major jerk.
Lily: She touched me. She wouldn't let me go. My mind went red.
Sam: My mind's been doing the whole red thing, too. Because of my dad.
Lily: Because he was killed? Do you think it's my fault? Autumn does.
Sam: No. Not at all. Jonathan Lavery killed my dad. You didn't have anything to do with it.
Lily: I saw him do it. I was on the case. But no one understood what I was saying. Sometimes people don't understand me. I make them mad. But Aidan used to understand me. He used to help me and he protected me. But he can't do that anymore.
Sam: It's ok, Lily. I'll protect you. If you'll let me.
Adam: You don't want to believe me? Fine. I don't know why I waste my breath.
Tad: Oh, shut up. God, you give me a headache. I believe you already.
Adam: Well, it's about time. I was beginning to think your learning curve had flat-lined.
Tad: Stop squealing for just five seconds and think about the larger picture here, ok? If you didn't plant that information, then who did? If it wasn't planted, what the hell does it mean?
Adam: No, no, no, no. No, it is not possible that that information is legitimate.
Tad: If that information is real, there's a good chance that Dixie’s out there somewhere, alive.
Greenlee: I'm sorry.
Kendall: No, don't apologize for me. Ryan, Greenlee did not put me up to anything, ok? She never could, she never will. I was just riffing what a wonderful life it could be, because I thought it might help.
Ryan: Well, you can't help. You can't do anything. So why don't you just go back to Ethan?
Kendall: No, I'm more concerned about you.
Ryan: Well, don't be. I got stuff I got to do.
Greenlee: Ryan -- I did tell Kendall. The whole no-kids-ever thing really threw me, and she offered to help. I thought another voice, another opinion might --
Ryan: Change my mind? No.
Greenlee: I'm sorry. I should have told Kendall to just forget it, but --
Ryan: But you thought she might get through to me. You just couldn't resist. You just had to have one more try, one more push. Greenlee, you got to let it go. The whole no-kids thing -- this is not on hold. It's finished forever.
Greenlee: Ryan, this is a huge decision you've made overnight.
Ryan: It's taken me years to get here, Greenlee. Years to face the truth about my family, about my brothers.
Greenlee: You're not them.
Ryan: I don't know how to make this any clearer. I will not bring another Lavery into this world. Kendall can't change my mind, you can't change my mind, nobody can. Ok? It's over.
Jonathan: You're wrong, Ryan. It is so far from over.
>> On the "All My Children" --
Aidan: You know, if you're looking for a friend, Ryan, you came to the wrong place.
Kendall (to Greenlee): You think you know all there is to know about Ryan? I can teach you plenty.
David: Want to do something for you.
Krystal: You can fall in love with me.
Di (to J.R.): I shouldn't be your son's nanny. I shouldn't be in this house.
