Adam: What do you want?

Babe: Well, I'm not here to see the wizard. Where's little Adam?

Adam: Where's your court-appointed chaperone?

Babe: She was running late, so I thought I'd just –

Di: You're so sure you can bring this off?

David: Even as you speak, you're on your way to becoming Dixie Martin.

Di: Hey, I didn't say I'd do it. You want to make J.R. nicer to your daughter, that's cool, but I have to know this can work. I mean, what did you already set in motion?

David: Pine Valley’s master detective is about to solve his greatest case. Tad Martin is going to track down the long-lost love of his life and find you.

Tad: You know, I just want to say that if this is a practical joke, it's a really sick one. I can trace this phone call, and if you're not Dr. Cautele or whoever, I -- no, it's just -- I'm sorry, but it just doesn't make any sense. I mean, my wife's car went off that cliff three years ago. If anything was going to -- the license number? No. It sounds familiar, but I'd have to look it up. Well, ok, then how do I get in touch with you? Mm-hmm. Listen, doctor, if you hear anything else -- I appreciate it.

Brooke: Tad, who was that?

Tad: It's a mistake. It's got to be.

Brooke: What's a mistake?

Tad: Dixie could be alive.

Kendall: Wasn't I clear enough? Ethan lied. He never saw Edmund's murder.

Derek: We have his signed statement. Are you saying he knowingly lied?

Kendall: Yes. He knew exactly what he was doing, and he did it anyway.

Derek: Well, if that's true, he could pull jail time for obstruction.

Kendall: I will swear that Ethan admitted it to me. He never saw Zach kill anyone. He lied to get his father thrown in prison, which is exactly where Ethan belongs. So go ahead, put him there.

[Rock music blares]

Maria: Excuse me!

[Music stops]

Maria: Hey, hello. Are you people here alone?

Maddie: Who else would buzz-kill this party? Hi, Mom. Justin, Mom.

Justin: Hey.

Maria: What were you just doing back there?

Maddie: Nothing you haven't done with your boyfriend, only you went way further.

Derek: Congratulations, Slater. I'll take your statement, and then the DA's office is going to want to have an interview.

J.R.: Maybe you should talk to an attorney first.

Kendall: Just give me a paper and a pen.

Ethan: Ok, listen, Kendall, please, please, don't do this.

Kendall: I put you behind bars, it will so improve my day.

Ethan: Look, I told you I was sorry. You know that, ok? I had no idea you were being held prisoner by that maniac. I thought you were fine.

Kendall: No, no, no, don't even try it. You are such a smooth liar, it's scary.

Ethan: I love you, Kendall. Trust me, ok? We can work this out privately.

Kendall: No, trust you? Why the hell couldn't you just trust me? You could've told me the truth ages ago. Zach did not kill Edmund Grey.

Ethan: Why? Because Jonathan Lavery says that he did it? People admit to crimes they didn't do all the time.

Kendall: Nice try, Ethan. It's not just your word against mine. Where's this prison snitch I've heard so much about?

Adam: You're still alone.

Babe: It is not my job to pick up the social worker and drag her over here.

Adam: Without her, you can't see my grandson.

Babe: Look, Adam, I'm really sorry that maybe the market dropped a bit or Winnie spilled your coffee, but I'm not going to lose a single second with my son.

Adam: The court order is very clear.

Babe: Then how about you watch us? Go upstairs, grab your video camera. That way you can have proof in case I do something wild and illegal, like maybe stay an extra 10 seconds.

Adam: Go on, go on. Get it over with.

Babe: Oh, look at my little man. Come here! Oh, my goodness, you got so, so big! Wait till you see what Mommy got you.

Adam: I'll take that.

Babe: It clashes with your tie.

Adam: Whatever it is, what gift you got him, I have to check it, make sure it's safe.

Babe: Like this house isn't dangerous enough? Fine. And I'll give you a hint -- it's not the wallet or the lipstick. You'll love it. You'll love it. Hi!

Adam: Huh?

Babe: I'll give it to him.

Adam: No, not until Winifred sterilizes it.

Babe: Oh, come on.

Adam: It looks like something you picked up in a yard sale. It's probably got some other kid's drool all over it.

Babe: I didn't find it on the street and I didn't snatch it from some little kid at the mall. I got it at Gumdrops, and it was behind the counter in the case.

Adam: Well, you can't be too careful with little Adam. Thanks to Hayward, J.R.’s turned on me.

Babe: Yeah, well, you brought that one on yourself. You're the one that was trying to give up time with little Adam so you could get Colby back from Liza.

Adam: I don't take lectures from people like you. No, Hayward double-crossed me.

Babe: Actually, my dad didn't lie to you. It was Tad who tipped them off so they could escape.

Adam: How would you like it if J.R. started playing keep-away with little Adam?

Babe: He already tried, and it didn't work.

Adam: Oh, right, and you got a glorious three hours a week with your child.

Babe: It's a start.

Adam: Yes, well, how righteous. How very -- a couple of words from you, and Krystal could be home cooking up a whole big pot of grits, but instead, she's rotting in prison.

Babe: I came here to be with my son.

Adam: Does she realize that you sacrificed her freedom for your newfound morality?

Babe: Mama would tell you herself what you could do with your deal.

Adam: Well, you better have a good Father's Day because he's going to be in jail this time next year. By the time your poor, misfit parents are sprung, little Adam isn't going to have any idea who they are.

Babe: You know what, Adam? How about you lay your mean mouth off my family?

Tad: It's a match. The license number's a match.

Brooke: Tad, you can't really believe --

Tad: It was empty. Dixie wasn't inside. I mean, that thing was smashed like an old beer can, but it was empty. She wasn't in the car.

Brooke: That doesn't mean that she's alive.

Tad: I know, I know. I'm not saying I'm getting my hopes up. It's just that, you know, if there was no body, where's Dixie?

Brooke: So many things could've happened to her after that crash.

Tad: Yeah, you're right, none of them good. I suppose if there was any hope, I would've heard something years ago.

Brooke: Tad, you checked all the local hospitals after the crash after you heard the news, and none of them gave you any hope.

Tad: You know, I used to think that someday I would stop missing her so much. But I can't. Maybe it's because I have to watch J.R. every single day --

Brooke: I know, I know, following in Adam's cloven hoof steps.

Tad: Sometimes I miss her so much, I -- still talk to her like she's there. In fact, the other --

Brooke: What is it?

Tad: The other night, after the explosion, I even thought I saw her.

Di: You are one confident guy. You know, but here's a little monkey wrench for you. My last address wasn't penthouse B, it was cellblock B, and Krystal and I got pretty tight. When Martin finds that out --

David: No, stop, stop sweating the small stuff, will you? I'm going to invent a whole new past for you.

Di: Ok, so you can position me to be someone who could be Dixie. But you can't be with me every minute. I mean, when I'm with J.R., there's no way I'm going to pass her own son's test.

David: What do I keep telling you? Tad Martin is going to pass the test for you. He is going to sell you to his son.

Di: Why? Why should he?

David: Because you are going to get him to fall in love with you.

Brooke: You talked with her?

Tad: Oh, yeah, up close and personal. Whoever she was, she'd come out to find out why the mountain had gone boom, you know? For a minute -- for a minute, I really thought I had my Dixie back.

Brooke: You know what I think? I think that the people that we love are always with us. I mean, I think all the time about Edmund, you know, the what-ifs, the mistakes, the dreams that never came true. But you can't hold on to old dreams. And if you get caught up with an illusion, you're just going to take a hundred giant steps backward, and it will make you crazy.

Tad: You're right. I've come all this way. I guess I got to keep going in the right direction, huh? That's why I called you.

Brooke: Glad I could help.

Tad: Wait a minute. Wait, wait, I didn't call you about Dixie. I want you to help me with Krystal.

Di: You know, the clothes fooled me. You're not wearing your crushed-velvet suit and your big, furry fedora.

David: I'm not asking you to prostitute yourself.

Di: No, you said buddy up to the son. That is it!

David: You don't have to marry Tad. All you have to do is play hard-to-get.

Di: I am hard to get.

David: Perfect! Let me tell you something about Tad Martin -- the more you keep telling him that you're not interested in him romantically, the more he will fall in love with you. And the more the Chandlers and everyone else tell him that he's wrong about you, the harder Tad will work to prove to himself and the world that you are Dixie.

Di: Ok, I wish that made sense, but it doesn't.

David: Tad Martin's ego is as big as --

Di: Yours?

David: And then some.

Di: You know, your grudge can bring us down. Hate plus arrogance is a recipe for misery, and I don't want it to be mine.

David: You're never going to be at risk.

Di: That's easy for you to say. I'm the one that has to get Tad to fall in love with me without landing in his bed.

David: Oh, come on. Are you telling me you've never led a man on?

Di: This time it's not me teasing, it's Dixie.

David: All right. Well, Dixie, the good news is that when your car went off the side of that cliff, your relationship was already in terrible trouble for quite some time. You were divorced, but Tad thought that you were on your way back to him.

Di: Wasn't I? Or she?

David: Then why did you stay away for so long?

Di: How do I know?

David: You don't have to. Tad is going to figure it out for you.

Di: Ok, why were we on the rocks?

David: Tad believed that he could tell you to get rid of the baby and that you would do it.

Di: He didn't want the baby?

David: Your pregnancy was high-risk. It was dangerous. But I knew that you would get through the pregnancy. But, as always, Tad thought that he knew better.

Di: So where's the baby?

David: You lost it in the crash.

Di: You want me to face that man and tell him that his baby is dead? You just did the same thing to Dixie’s son!

J.R.: Kendall, look, I know that this was my idea, but this could be the end-all for Ethan. There's no going back after this.

Kendall: No, J.R., kicking him to the curb isn't far enough. I want to kick him into prison, see how he likes it.

Derek: You don't have to stick around.

Zach: Wouldn't miss this.

Anthony: I got immunity for real, right?

DA: You have full immunity. You're free to tell us the truth. Did Zach Slater ever tell you he killed anyone?

Anthony: Nah. Man, we never even talked.

J.R.: Looks like the cops have got this under control. Why don't I take you home?

Kendall: No, no.

DA: Did this man, Ethan Ramsey, make a deal with you? Did he induce you to testify against Slater?

Anthony: Man, I never saw him before. It was that guy over there. He paid me off.

Adam: You think you can hide who you are, what you are? That little boy's going to be teased and tormented on the playground, because of what you are.

Babe: I've made mistakes, and, yes, I've said horrible things, but I'm going to do what Stuart said, and I'm going to set an example for my son.

Adam: An example of what not to be?

Babe: You can say anything that you want about me to J.R., to anyone, just not to my son.

Adam: Oh, Babe, would you make me a list so I'll have a scorecard for raising my grandchild?

Babe: You know what, maybe if you talked to Stuart, you'd get a better idea of what I'm talking about.

Adam: You want me to take instructions from my poor, unfortunate brother? My brother, who I've helped raise every day of his life? My brother, who betr -- betrayed me?

Babe: You know what? Stuart has great intuition and he has a pure spirit, and honestly, I've learned a lot from him.

Adam: Oh, simple and simpler. Stuart will make a wonderful guru for you. You ought to go down to the gatehouse and sit at his knees and open a few fortune cookies, try to get in touch with your inner tramp.

Babe: You know what? I won't listen to this.

Adam: I don't want you to. I want you to leave.

Babe: I've only been here an hour.

Adam: Fine, I never should've let you in in the first place without -- we should have waited for the woman from Family Services. Why don't you get in touch with her and reschedule?

Babe: I have planned my entire week around this visit.

Adam: Oh, I am so sorry. That is so unfortunate. But I'm busy. I'm too busy, frankly, to babysit you as well as my grandson.

Babe: I'm sure Winifred wouldn't mind.

Adam: What if I told the judge that you are trying to skirt the rules?

Babe: But I -- I didn't. That's not what's going on here.

Adam: Oh, really? Well, then get out. Go outside and wait. And if -- if this woman from Family Services ever shows up, we can --

Babe: Adam? Adam, what is it?

Adam: My pocket –

Maria: You guys better be going right back to school, or I will call your parents. Not you! Not you. You know better than this.

Maddie: You and Dad used to have friends over for celebrations and stuff, anniversaries and stuff.

Maria: What are you celebrating?

Maddie: I'm an heiress. It was, like, a housewarming thing.

Maria: You know what, young lady, this -- your friends made this whole disaster mess, and you are the one who's going to clean it all up. And what was that Justin -- how old is he?

Maddie: He's a junior in high school.

Maria: That's too old for you!

Maddie: You're into older men, so am I.

Maria: No, you're a child, and you are my child, and I still make these rules in this house.

Maddie: My house -- mine and Sam's. You just live here.

Maria: You know what, I don't appreciate that one bit.

Maddie: Neither do we! Stop acting all hurt. You're way too wrapped up in yourself and Zach Slater to care what I think. Go hang with him and leave us alone.

Maria: Ok, so I take it that Sam told you that Zach didn't kill your father, that it was Jonathan Lavery?

Maddie: Yeah, big news -- lover's not a murderer. Like that makes it ok for you to sneak off late at night with him before Dad's even cold?

Kendall: You were in on this with Ethan?

Zach: I am shocked.

Derek: Are you sure the man who bribed you was Adam Chandler, Jr. and not Ethan Ramsey?

Man: Man, they look alike to you? Yeah, it was that guy. What an operator.

J.R.: You know, this is so crazy. I've never even seen this guy before. Why would I set up Zach Slater? He's absolutely nothing to me. There's no motive.

Derek: Except to curry favor with your new boss. Chandler Enterprises is now an arm of Cambias Industries.

Kendall: All day you've been consoling me, commiserating about my rotten, dishonest fiancé, and you were in on this whole setup?

J.R.: No, Kendall, I was not. I'm just as surprised as you are. But you know what this is? It's slander!

Derek: Maybe you're the one who should be under arrest, J.R. How would you like to share a cell with your pal Ethan here?

Brooke: I know where you're going with this.

Tad: It's a slam dunk, right? I mean, it's perfect -- a nice, juicy exposé about prison abuse? That could do a lot for "Tempo," I'm sure of it.

Brooke: It might if I wrote it, but I'm not going to. I'm not going to help Krystal or her pal David ever.

Di: So the dead wife -- me -- reappears, scams Tad Martin, then falls off the planet, and it's tragic deja vu all over again.

David: Once you humanize J.R. and Babe gets joint custody --

Di: What do you think? What, five days, a week? This is going to take some time.

David: Ok. Once you succeed, you go to Tad, you tell him, "The old magic just isn't there."

Di: Oh, "Sorry, guy, it's just not working out"?

David: Yeah, that's about right. You ditch Tad and Pine Valley.

Di: Who cares if I leave a trail of human wreckage behind me?

David: Oh, will you stop looking at this as if the glass is half empty? J.R. becomes a better man, right? Babe gets to be with her son. Her son gets to be with his mother.

Di: And Tad Martin?

David: Tad finally gets to say good-bye to Dixie. He gets closure. Not that he deserves it.

Di: I thought my ex-boyfriend was the biggest, meanest SOB ever born, but you -- you win, Hayward.

David: Thanks. So will you -- do it? You shouldn't be wasting your pity on Tad Martin. So you think I'm cruel and horrible, huh? Well, I treated you a hell of a lot better than Tad did. He cheated on you, twice.

Di: Not on me.

David: Tad forced Dixie to run away. Just couldn't trust her instincts.

Di: About the baby?

David: Yeah. If he had just listened to her, Dixie might be -- but by some miracle, Dixie’s alive. Now, what is so cruel, so horrible about that?

Di: Her son, J.R. -- it's not fair to trick him like this.

David: Oh, please. He's another one you shouldn't be pitying. What, you think J.R. is just angry about Babe, another overprotective father trying to keep his son away from its mother?

Di: A lot of parents play custody tug of war. When things cool down, they'll find some common ground and --

David: When Dixie died, she left a hole in his heart. Whatever positive influence she had on him in all those years totally evaporated. He's become his father's son.

Di: I know, I know, J.R. was a jerk of a husband, but Babe did steal their son.

David: No, wait a minute. Wait a minute. You only have half the story. You're forgetting the part where J.R. drugged Babe, nearly killed her. Oh, and we shouldn't forget that he also tried to frame his own brother, Jamie, and Babe for conspiracy to commit murder.

Di: That doesn't sound like somebody I want to mess with.

David: Dixie had high hopes for J.R. She wanted her son to be a good, kind, compassionate man. And if she were alive today, J.R. would be that man. Instead, he's just -- but it's not too late. J.R. can still change. You do this and you'll be working on the side of angels.

Di: If you're an angel --

David: This isn't about me. It's about a man -- J.R. -- and his final chance at redemption. Like it or not, you're his only hope.

J.R.: You can't take his word for it. He'd say anything to stay out of jail.

Anthony: Hey, man, you asked me to lie, straight up.

J.R.: So we're all going to listen to some convict?

Ethan: All right, listen, unless we have some concrete proof, we are wasting our time. Can we just -- can we go now home and talk about this?

Kendall: No, you said this witness would implicate Zach.

Ethan: That's what Chief Frye told me.

Kendall: Well, then why would he suddenly change his mind?

J.R.: Slater got to you, didn't he? He leaned on you, forced you to point the finger at me.

Ethan: You threatened him so he wouldn't point the finger at you.

Zach: That's my boy.

Derek: Let's go, Anthony.

DA: We'll check your bank accounts, Mr. Ramsey, and yours, Mr. Chandler. Whichever of you paid off the witness, you'll hear from my office.

J.R.: Fine by me. Waste the taxpayers' money.

Kendall: Why should I be surprised? I know whose son you are. And you. You set out to destroy your own son, take what's rightfully his. You are the Cambias curse. And you. I have no idea who you are. You are not the man I thought I loved or ever loved me. That man never existed. The three of you? You guys deserve each other. This -- you stay away from me! Don't come near me, any of you, ever again.

Maria: You are not going to speak to me that way again. Do you understand me? Zach and I were out all night looking for your brother, who took one of the cars.

Maddie: Oh, I bet it was a real hot search.

Maria: No, as a matter of fact, it wasn't. You're very wrong. Now, I -- I want us to be close. We need each other more than ever right now, Maddie.

Maddie: You need your big, strong Slater man. Here's the word, Mom -- I don't listen to you anymore. I listen to Brooke.

Brooke: No, Tad.

Tad: What do you mean, no? You dislike Krystal so much, you don't care if she's beaten and abused like some kind of stray dog?

Brooke: Oh, of course not!

Tad: Well, come on, where's your sense of outrage, you know, sticking up for the downtrodden, the victims of society?

Brooke: Krystal is in prison. We are a national magazine. I am not going to make space, so that I can write something so that your girlfriend receives special treatment.

Tad: My girl-- yeah, that's the way you see it? Terrific.

Brooke: Well, that's what it is.

Tad: She's not my girlfriend.

Brooke: Come on! I mean, you miss Dixie, but you are in love with Krystal. I mean, everybody knows it.

Tad: Oh, don't give me that. You know what, this is strictly personal. The fact is you hate Krystal so much, you don't care what happens to her. You think she deserves to be in prison.

Brooke: Oh, well, you're damn right I do!

Babe: Adam, sit down, ok?

Adam: He's --

Babe: Here, give him to me. I am serious. Sit down before you fall. Hey, baby. Sit there for just one second, ok? Here, come here. Sit right here. Be careful.

[Adam mumbles]

Babe: Hey, hey, hey, can you -- can you tell me what just happened? Adam, talk to me. Oh, my God. Winnie! Winnie, call a doctor! Call 911!

Adam: You're calling the police?

Babe: No, no, no, no, no, not the cops. We need to get you to a hospital.

Adam: That's ridiculous.

Babe: Adam, you checked out for a minute there.

Adam: It's my head. You gave me a splitting headache.

Babe: Well, then at least let me call your doctor.

Adam: No, no, just call Winifred. Get me -- get me some aspirin. Go!

Babe: Come here. Yeah.

Adam: I'll be fine, I'll be fine, I'll be fine. Just a couple of aspirin, I'll be fine.

Maria: That is not what your father's will meant. Brooke is not your mother. I am.

Maddie: I'll call my lawyer. Maybe we can fix that.

Maria: Ok, Maddie. I get that you hate me, ok?

Maddie: You cheated on Dad! I wish I could kick you out. I wish any other adult could live with us instead.

Maria: But there's so many things that you don't understand that went on between me and your father.

Maddie: So tell. Go on, fill me in. Go on.

Maria: I -- I can't.

Maddie: Can't lie fast enough, you mean? You're right, I hate you, only you don't have a clue how much.

Zach: You boys have a lot to discuss. Try not to kill each other.

Ethan: Seems I'm a slow learner. You can't trust anyone.

J.R.: Yeah, I spent hours trying to talk Kendall out of that. Well, you might want to return that. Once she makes up her mind, there's no changing it.

Ethan: You talked for hours, J.R., hours? You make a move on Kendall, and then you expect me just to step aside? Think again.

Babe: Hey. Here. You don't look so good.

Adam: Neither do you. So what.

Babe: So I can call Dr. Martin.

Adam: I got dizzy. I forgot to eat lunch.

Babe: I would really feel a lot better if you'd let me take you to the hospital.

Adam: I don't want you to feel better.

Babe: Adam, you checked out there for a second. I was talking to you, you couldn't even tell that I was speaking.

Adam: I was tired of listening to you. You were putting me to sleep.

Babe: I'm sure there are some very simple tests that you could take.

Adam: You're going to use this against me, aren't you?

Babe: What? I don't even know what --

Adam: Try to prove that I'm unfit, not able to take care of my grandson?

Babe: No. I just want to make sure that you're all right, that's all.

Adam: You phony. You'd like me to drop dead right now.

[Doorbell rings]

Babe: That's got to be the woman from Family Services.

Adam: Wait, wait. You say one word to her about this, and you're going to be one very sorry little mother.

Brooke: Krystal didn't turn over any new leaves when she led Babe and Jamie down the wrong path with little Adam, and Krystal wasn't alone, either.

Tad: What's your point, I should be in the clink, too? Would that make you happy?

Brooke: Well, you and Krystal helped Babe and Jamie keep another child hidden.

Tad: Not another child, her child.

Brooke: I know that.

Tad: Well, don't make it sound like it was some kind of random kidnapping.

Brooke: You know what makes me the maddest is that I was involved in it, too, and I should have said something before it got out of hand.

Tad: Brooke, you couldn't have.

Brooke: Well, I should've said something to you and to your son to let you know exactly how I felt, and then maybe he wouldn't have gotten into trouble.

Tad: Want to talk about Jamie? Fine, let's talk about Jamie. If he were in that cell getting the hell kicked out of him, would you be willing to use "Tempo" to improve his condition?

Brooke: Well, he's not. And if it weren't for Babe and Krystal, Jamie wouldn't have gotten into trouble.

Tad: Doesn't answer the question.

Brooke: Well, live with it. And you know what? Here's another answer that you didn't ask for -- I was relieved when Krystal was sentenced, because I thought you might be nuts enough to actually marry her. You know, do yourself a favor and consider this trial separation from Krystal a sign, and use the time to get over your delusions about her. And don't get caught up in fantasies about Dixie. It's not healthy.

Di: You want me to jerk all these people around by their heartstrings, but, in your warped mind, you're a hero?

David: No. I'm just a man who loves his daughter and his grandson. They should be together. And Babe deserves to be the kind of mother to him that Dixie was to her son. Look, if Dixie were alive today, I wouldn't need your help. J.R. would've had her guidance all these years, and my grandson wouldn't be in danger. I am not asking you to do anything that Dixie wouldn't do herself if she were here. So go ahead, think of me as Satan, think of me as criminally insane, but I am not doing this for myself. This is my family. Their happiness is riding on this. Now, will you help them?

Ethan: I asked you to take care of Kendall. What do you do? You turn her against me.

J.R.: No, actually, I had your back.

Ethan: You already told me, J.R., that you liked her and you would get her if you could.

J.R.: Sure, you know, once in a while I play fair. But what about you? You admitted that you lied about Zach. What is that? Some sort of death wish?

Ethan: Don't think that you can make a move on her.

J.R.: No, not too soon. She may hate you more than she hates me, but I'm running a close second. Zach is definitely third on her hit list.

[Knock on door]

Kendall: Go away!

Kendall: You. Look, I know, I know -- you told me so. I'm dumb, I'm stupid, I'm came to my senses too late. Ethan is a Cambias through and through. I know, ok? Are you happy now?

Zach: That's not what I came to say.

Kendall: I don't really care what you came to say.

Zach: You'll care about this a lot.

Kendall: No, I sincerely doubt that. I can't absorb anything right now. I'm on overload.

Zach: Ok. I'll come back tomorrow.

Kendall: Don't bother! Send a letter or hire a skywriter. I told you to stay away, and I meant it.

Ms. Carver: There was very little damage to my car, but of course I had to wait for the police.

Adam: Oh, of course.

Ms. Carver: It was clearly the other driver's fault, thank heaven.

Adam: We're lucky you could make it at all.

Babe: Yes, thank you for coming.

Adam: I'd like a little peace and quiet. You think you could take my grandson out, maybe to the terrace or play with him in the garden?

Babe: You know, that would be a wonderful idea. How about you guys go on out --

Ms. Carver: Come on, let's go outside.

Babe: And I'll meet you out there, Ms. Carver.

Ms. Carver: We'll go to the garden. Want to go to the garden?

Babe: Bye-bye!

Ms. Carver: Let's go to the garden.

Babe: Bye-bye!

Ms. Carver: Yes.

Adam: If you so much as whisper a word to her, and it gets back to me, so help me, God --

Babe: It's none of her business, ok?

Adam: Good. I'm glad we agree on that.

Babe: Look, you'll tell J.R., though, right? Maybe I was overreacting a little bit, but I still think he'd want to know just in case. What if something else were to happen?

Adam: Why don't you take your phony concern and your bad advice outside where you belong. Your time with my grandson is ticking away.

Babe: You are feeling better, meaner than ever.

Adam: So get out.

Babe: You're right, you know? I don't care what happens to you.

[Phone rings]

Dr. Cautele: Hello?

Tad: Dr. Cautele? This is Tad Martin again.

Dr. Cautele: Ah. Monsieur Martin. Hello. I'm sorry I have nothing else to report.

Tad: No, Doctor, that's not why I'm calling. I want to ask you yet another favor, if it's ok. Could you or could you have someone check all of the hospitals in the area to see if any unidentified woman was brought in --

Dr. Cautele: Within 24 hours of your ex-wife's accident? But, sir, the police have --

Tad: No, no, no, Doctor, that's -- that's what I mean. I -- I want to find out if any woman without identification was brought in within a month after the accident. Can you do that?

Dr. Cautele: I would be happy to, Mr. Martin, immediately.

Tad: I appreciate it. Thank you.

Dr. Cautele: Ah, my old friend. I have news.

David: Let's have it.

Dr. Cautele: Success. Mr. Martin has taken the bait, as you say.

David: Thanks, Etienne. I'll be in touch. So, Dixie, Tad has picked up the scent. The hunt is on. It's time. So are you in or are you out?

Di: I must be crazy. I'm in.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Babe: J.R., your father almost killed our son.

Brooke: I want what is best for Tad.

Krystal: And I'm not it?

Ethan (to Greenlee): You don't have that many friends. You can't afford to blow one off, especially not one as powerful as me.

Kendall: What do you want, Zach?

Zach: I want you to marry me.
