All My Children Transcript Friday 4/8/05
Proofread by Gisele
Adam: Well, aren't you going to say hello to your mommy?
Di: Thanks, but no thanks.
David: You haven't heard my offer.
Di: Don't need to. I'm done with this place and everyone connected to it. I'm off to meet my future.
David: I have money.
Di: Who the hell do you think I am?
Zach: We're closed.
Tad: Not anymore. You got something we need.
Zach: Yeah? What's that? Class and brains?
Aidan: Try cooperation.
Zach: I did try that. I have no new information as to where Braden Lavery is. Get out.
Aidan: We're not going to be leaving until you give us what we came for.
Tad: And you're going to be more than happy to accommodate us. After all, you're the reason they called off the search for Braden in the first place. So it's time for a little payback. After all, let's admit it -- it wasn't too cool for you to put innocent people in danger just because you wanted to one-up your son.
Ethan: Listen, if you hear from
J.R.: Ethan, listen. Great news. I found a jailhouse snitch.
Ethan: J.R., can we do this later?
J.R.: What? Did you not hear me? I found somebody to testify against your father. He spent the night in a cell across from Zachís. He'll say whatever we want him to say. And it gets better. His asking price is next to nothing. I just saved your butt, Cambias. I get no props? No pat on the back?
Ethan: Frankly, J.R., I'm just not sure this is a victory anymore.
J.R.: Oh -- don't tell me you're going soft on the old man.
Ethan: No. No, I want to see my father suffer.
But I won't lose
Greenlee: I'm trying!
Jonathan: Get off me!
Jonathan: Like hell, bitch!
Jonathan: Lily, if that thing goes off -- listen to me, Lily. Lily, if that thing goes off, it's going to make a really loud noise.
Lily: I know. Greenlee -- she said that it makes red, too.
Jonathan: Lots and lots of red, Lily. Yeah -- Lily, you don't want that, do you?
Lily: No, I don't like red.
Jonathan: Lily, give me the gun.
Greenlee: No --
Jonathan: Give me the --
Greenlee: No, don't.
Jonathan: Lily, if you don't want any red, you give me the gun.
Greenlee: No, he's the bad guy. You're a detective. You can't give him the gun.
Jonathan: Lily, listen to me. Lots of red, ok? Oceans of red. A noise so loud that it'll make your head -- it will make your head explode. Lily, is that what you want?
Greenlee: Don't believe him.
Jonathan: If you don't want the red and you don't want the noise, you're going to give me the gun, ok?
Zach: I tried to help you before. You told me to go to hell.
Tad: You can still make the trip. Just give us what we need first.
Zach: What do you need?
Tad: All the security videos from the night of the murder game.
Zach: Yeah -- can you tell your friend that I gave those to the police? You should know that.
Aidan: Only the ones covering the players and the areas of the murder game.
Tad: You weren't listening. I said all the security videos, especially what the police left behind. We'd like to take a look at what was going on in other parts of the casino.
Zach: Oh, ok. So you think watching a busload
of librarians from
Tad: We can't. He's off on his own.
Zach: He's sick of you, too, huh?
Aidan: Why are you always trying to get in the way, Slater? Huh? Ryan almost died, and Edmund did. Meanwhile, you're playing these stupid little games with your son, which is buying this murderer a lot more time to plan God knows what.
Tad: Come on, Zach. A quick trip to the vault, get some DVDs -- it's not too much to ask. After that, you can go right back to tormenting your son.
J.R.: Wait a second. What's with this 180? I thought we had this whole thing figured out?
Ethan: Well, things have changed.
Ethan: I swore to that girl on my love for her that I didn't lie about Zach killing Edmund.
J.R.: All right, all right, so you went a little bit overboard. Did she find out the truth?
Ethan: No, but if and when she does, she's going to think that I don't love her. I'm not going to let that happen, J.R. I need to tell her the truth.
J.R.: Oh. It's a suicide mission.
Ethan: I think we can get through it.
J.R.: No, look, you already have told a lie. You can't change it now. It's a big risk.
Ethan: I just -- as much as I want to get back
at my father, I am not going to lose
J.R.: No, see, you're thinking small here. You can have it both ways.
Babe: Oh, look at you, handsome! Oh, my goodness! You are bigger every time I see you.
Adam: Well, that's because he eats anything that's smaller than he is. Isn't that right, champ? Huh?
Babe: What are you up to, Adam?
Adam: Uh-oh. Mommy is suspicious.
Babe: Are you trying to make it look like I broke my visitation? Because if --
Adam: No, nonsense. I brought him to you.
Babe: So did J.R. put you up to this?
Adam: No, he doesn't know I'm here. Do you want us to go?
Babe: No, please.
Adam: Would you like to hold him?
Babe: Oh, gosh, of course, you know I would. Hi! Come here! Oh, goodness! Oh, I missed you, too. Let's get you out of this jacket. You have got to be stifling hot, huh?
Adam: Here we go.
Babe: Let's -- oh, sunglasses. Whoop!
Adam: Hey, he doesn't want to let go of this.
Babe: You're a rock star with those, huh?
Adam: Here you go.
Babe: Yeah, and another one. There's my handsome --
Adam: J.R. dressed him.
Babe: You know you're taking a big gamble bringing him here. It's not my visitation day.
Adam: Yeah, well, I've made fortunes taking risks.
Babe: I know what you want, Adam. It's the same deal you wanted with my dad. Colby.
Adam: Well, I want to give you a taste of what you could gain if you told me where Liza is. I miss my daughter just as much as you miss your son.
Di: Your daughter's mother is stuck in this hellhole for 10 whole years, and you -- you have the nerve to hit on me --
David: The nerve?
Di: Just because I remind you of some old flame?
David: No, no! Wait a minute.
Di: I mean, that is sick enough. But to offer to pay me for my services?
David: Oh, you are -- shh, shh.
Di: You really are a rotten piece of --
David: All right, would you just keep it cool for a second, please? Look, you have it all wrong. You have me all wrong.
Di: Did you or did you not just offer me money?
David: Yes. I was offering to help you to get back on your feet. I was talking loan. Nothing expected in return.
Di: I'm not your family. Not even your friend. You expect me to believe you just offer virtual strangers cash without expecting something back?
David: When that stranger is you, yeah. Yeah, I guess I do.
Di: Just how crazy are you?
Jonathan: Lily, listen. Hand me the gun, and you won't see red, and you won't hear any loud noises.
Greenlee: No, don't believe him. He is lying. He can make red, too, Lily.
Lily: Don't --
Jonathan: Lily -- Lily, hey. Yeah, you told me -- you told me that you don't lie.
Lily: I -- I can't.
Jonathan: Do you steal?
Lily: I would never steal.
Jonathan: Whose gun are you holding?
Lily: It's yours.
Greenlee: Give the gun to
Lily: It's not
Jonathan: That's right. It's mine. Now, did I give it to you?
Greenlee: No, he's trying to confuse you, Lily. He's the bad guy.
Jonathan: Lily -- Lily, if I didn't give it to you, then you took it from me. Now, if you don't give it back to me, that means you're stealing.
Greenlee: No, don't listen to him!
Lily: I don't steal.
Jonathan: Give me that gun!
Greenlee: Don't, Lily!
Aidan: You realize every second you take a sip of that drink, you put a man's life on the line?
Zach: You're making it sound as though I'm working with Braden. I've never met the man.
Tad: Oh, so we're wasting our breath because God knows a decent human being would never help out anybody else unless there was something in it for them?
Zach: You think you got me all figured out, don't you?
Tad: No. Not at all. I used to. Now I'm not so sure. See, I always knew your hatred for Ryan ran deep. But I never knew you actually want to see him dead.
Zach: And now you think I do?
Tad: You're not giving me a reason not to.
Zach: He didn't want my help. I don't think he wants yours, either.
Aidan: Whether he does or he doesn't, he needs it. So we're going to be there for him.
Tad: This isn't a favor. We're trying to save his life. We think he's hooked into something that's going to take him right to the endgame. We got to find him before it does. He needs a lot of help.
Zach: And the surveillance discs are going to help Ryan how?
Tad: Because we got a theory. I mean, I don't know -- a crazy idea -- whatever. But without him, it's all we got. Those discs could back it up.
Aidan: Come on, Slater. It's not like we're asking for your firstborn, is it? Oh, but then again, you already gave up on him, didn't you?
J.R.: All right. So our phony witness backs up
your story. Daddy hangs,
J.R.: No, it's just the opposite, my friend. You had your moment to tell the truth, and you blew it.
Ethan: I know that
J.R.: And I know
Greenlee: Oh, my God! Was anyone hurt?
Lily: No red, no red --
Greenlee: How is she?
Jonathan: Get over there, Greenlee! Get over there now!
Greenlee: Hey, she's been through a lot lately.
Jonathan: Get up! Get up! All of you, get up!
Greenlee: Lily, please, come on, we got to --
Lily: No red.
Jonathan: Lily, get up right now!
Greenlee: She's freaked out! She can't move!
Jonathan: All right, then leave her there. Get over there. Clear that gate.
Greenlee: Oh --
Jonathan: Clear that door all the way right now!
Greenlee: We're going, we're going -- it's ok.
Jonathan: Come on!
Greenlee: We're doing it!
Jonathan: All right, all right -- get out of the way. Get out of the way.
Jonathan: All right, get in there. Get inside!
Greenlee: Lily -- oh, Lily, it's ok.
Jonathan: Get away from the door.
Greenlee: Lily, it's ok.
Greenlee: Lily, it's ok.
Jonathan: Shut up! Shut up! Braden's going to be here any minute. I got to think. I have to think. Lily, shut up! I have to think. I have to think.
Babe: Do you remember this guy? Do you? He was one of your favorites. And Mommy remembers. You know, I keep all of our special memories together. I keep it right here in my heart.
Adam: Babe, I want to show you something. This is a picture of Colby when she was about little Adam's age.
Adam: They look almost alike, don't they?
Babe: Pulling on my heartstrings, Adam?
Adam: I have memories, too. Pushing Colby on the swing. First time she called me Daddy. But unlike you, I don't have any recent memories. I know how much you miss your son. It's written all over your face. But you, at least, have three hours a week with your boy. I may never see Colby again.
Babe: Well, maybe if you weren't such a control freak -- bless you -- things could be different.
Adam: Well, the Careys never were ones to mince words. I don't -- I don't want to take Colby away from Liza. I just want to have an understanding with Liza so I don't entirely miss out on the rest of my little girl's life.
Babe: I can't help you, Adam.
Adam: But you can. You have the solution to my problem. And I have the solution to yours.
Babe: And the day that J.R. agrees to more visitation -- it's the day that Erica Kane gets a sex change operation. Mommy loves you so much. More than you'll ever know.
Babe: There's nothing you can say or do that's going to make me turn my back on Liza and Colby.
Adam: What about your mother's freedom?
David: Yes, it's true. There is something real familiar about you. But what's wrong with me wanting to help you get back on your feet?
Di: Oh, so you're my guardian angel? Who are you, really? Who do you work for? You work for him?
David: "Him"? "Him" who?
Di: All right. Good Samaritan, don't tell me. Doesn't matter much, anyway, because this is our final conversation.
David: Wait, wait, wait. Just wait a second, ok? Just -- here. Just in case you change your mind, you'll know where to reach me. Here. Here you go.
Krystal: Hitting on the inmates now, huh, David?
David: Only you.
Krystal: Mm-hmm. You do know Di, don't you?
Zach: And again, nothing. We could be here all night.
Aidan: Well, it doesn't look like you got anything better to do. I mean, you can't run a game with your license revoked, unless you want to play with yourself.
Zach: Keep it up.
Tad: You guys, come on. Zach, where's this?
Zach: It's right over here.
Tad: Ok, wait, wait -- go back, go back, go back. Further. Wait a minute -- freeze -- freeze that. Right there. The guy at the bar.
Aidan: Well, I'll be damned. He was there that night.
Tad: That's Braden Lavery, in the flesh.
Lily: No red, no red --
Jonathan: You -- you stupid whores! You screw everything up, always! You know, you say you care about us. You're the first to hurt us! You say that you'll be there for us, but when we need you, where are you? I'll tell you where you are! You're in the mirrors, you selfish vultures! You -- you hook us with your soft voices and your fake promises. And then when you have us -- when you have us -- when we believe in you, what do you do? Wham! You pull out your claws like a freak show! I hate you! I hate every one of you!
Greenlee: We're dead.
Jonathan: Just shut up! Just shut up, Greenlee, and --
Greenlee: What do you want from us?
Jonathan: It's not what I want, it's what Braden wants. He's calling the shots.
Jonathan: Yeah? Well, it's out of my hands now, ok? Braden calls the orders. I'll tell you what. I'll tell you what. The last thing I'm going to do is disappoint him. I'm sorry, Greenlee. I really am.
Greenlee: No, no, Jonathan -- wait, Jonathan, wait, Jonathan, wait. You're upset and confused. I get it.
Jonathan: Pull the trigger and it's all over. I think I'm pretty clear.
Greenlee: No, no, we were just trying to protect ourselves -- and you. You've already had so much trouble already. We don't want you to have any more trouble.
Jonathan: You don't care about me!
Greenlee: I really do. I really, really do. Jonathan, not all women are the same.
Jonathan: No, I know. You're right. Some are really, really dumb whores.
Greenlee: No, I'm nothing like your mother.
Lily: No red, no --
Jonathan: What'd you say to me?
Greenlee: Remember when you told me that I really didn't remind you of your mother? That made me feel so good, because I know what a horrible woman she was. She didn't protect you, and she didn't fight for you, but I'm fighting for Ryan. That puts us on the same side!
Greenlee: Even Lily. I mean, she's just a kid trying to overcome some obstacles in her life. How would she want to hurt you and Braden when she doesn't even fully understand herself? You see?
Lily: No red.
Greenlee: We're all on the same side. We all want to protect Ryan.
Lily: No red.
Jonathan: I've been doing it since day one!
Greenlee: Well, I know. I know, and you've been amazing. God, if anyone knows that, it's me. All -- all the -- everything you've done to keep him safe, all the sacrifices you've made.
Jonathan: I'd do it all again if I --
Greenlee: No, I know you would, and so does Ryan. It's obvious how much you love him. He's so lucky to have a brother like you, willing to risk everything to protect him.
Jonathan: Don't be nice to me, Greenlee.
Greenlee: Why not? It's about time someone was. People need to recognize what you've suffered for this family, and I'm part of that family, too. I really do care about you, and I'm not going anywhere.
Jonathan: It's too late.
Greenlee: No -- no, it's not too late. There is still time to fix things. We could all be a family -- you, me, and Ryan. We can always keep him safe.
Jonathan: I don't -- I don't know if I can do this. I don't know if I can do this.
Lily: No red. No red.
J.R.: Don't let this get to you now. You tell
Ethan: I'm not going to lose her for good.
J.R.: Deep down, you know that I'm right.
Ethan: This is such a mess, J.R.
J.R.: It doesn't have to be. You lock your
story into cement. You have my guy corroborate your version,
Ethan: How reliable is this guy?
J.R.: He's guaranteed to come through. All
right, fine. You know what? You don't -- you don't have to answer that right
now. You don't have to come up with a decision. Just take a little longer before
you go to
Ethan: I have something I have to take care of.
J.R.: Don't blow it.
Krystal: So since when did you and I get so chummy?
David: We're not chummy. I just stopped by to say thank you.
Krystal: For what?
David: For her covering your backside while you've been in here.
Krystal: Nice try. But I see the way you keep looking at her.
David: You jealous?
Krystal: No. No, I just know that you're up to something. You're hiding something. And if I hadn't walked by that door and seen you two taking, then we wouldn't even be having this conversation, would we?
David: All right, Krystal, what is this all about? Why are you so suspicious?
Krystal: Well, I may be locked up, but my mind is free to run wild, and it's telling me that you are just a stone's throw away from crossing back over to the dark side.
David: The dark side is my home sweet home.
Krystal: Not if it throws Liza and Colby into Adam's claws.
David: I already told you that I would not give Lizaís information to Adam.
Krystal: Yeah, but I think you'd tell me
anything just to shut me up. David, I know how serious this is. I know that
Erica is on Lizaís trail, and I am stuck here. I'm helpless to do anything to
keep them safe from the
David: I have not done a thing.
Krystal: Yet. But if the bait's tasty enough, you're going to bite. Now, this may not have anything to do with Liza or Colby, but I know you're up to something. And I want to know what it is.
Aidan: Well, Braden sure can drink a lot.
Tad: It's liquid courage.
Zach: Would explain his bad aim.
Tad: Yeah. There. There he is right there. That's Jonathan.
Aidan: Joining brother Braden at the bar.
Tad: Have you got audio on this?
Zach: No, just basic security feed.
Aidan: Well, something's got them fired up.
Tad: All right. So they exited that way. You got coverage out there?
Zach: Yeah. What's the code?
Zach: 51:13 --
Aidan: Well, Braden's unhappy about something.
Tad: Yeah. Jonathan did say that he tried to talk Braden out of shooting Ryan that night.
Aidan: According to this footage, it looks like he was telling the truth.
Zach: Whatever happened after that happened off camera. That's all she wrote.
Tad: All right, ok. All right, let's just watch the rest of it and see what happened after that.
Jamie: There you are.
Tad: Jamie, what the hell are you doing here?
Jamie: Tracking you down. Would it kill you to leave your cell phone on?
Tad: What are you talking about? My cell phone is on. At least it was before the battery died. What's up?
Jamie: Can I talk to you alone?
Tad: Excuse me. Ok, so now I'm freaked out.
Jamie: We have a problem. Actually, Liza and Colby are the ones with the problems. Adam's on their trail.
Babe: You're good, Adam. I will definitely give you that. You know exactly what buttons to push. I wanted Mama out of that horrible place yesterday.
Adam: I'll arrange it. An early release is well within my power. You know that.
Babe: But what you want in return is nauseating.
Adam: What about what Krystal wants? If you think she doesn't go to sleep at night dreaming every night about you and her grandchild, then you are seriously deluded.
Babe: Stop it.
Adam: I'm offering you the world. More time with your son and your mother's freedom. Just think, she'll be able to watch her grandchild grow up. She can marry Tad Martin. Yes, anything can happen. All it needs is for you to give me one little phone number.
Babe: And you would do it?
Adam: Absolutely, if -- if it's not too late. Well, it is a prison, after all. Bad things can happen.
David: This is amazing. After everything we've been through, you're so quick to doubt me.
Krystal: It's because of everything that we've been through that I have my doubts, David. I know the lengths you'll go to to get what you want.
David: To keep my family safe? Happy? You're damn right I will. And that's a crime?
Krystal: Yes, it is a crime -- if it's at the expense of good people like Liza.
David: You're not exactly in here because you put other people's needs first, Krystal.
Krystal: Yeah, you're right. You're right.
David: Krystal, Krystal, wait. I'm sorry. I hate this. I hate that you're in here, and I hate that I can't do a damn thing about it.
Krystal: It's not your job to worry about me.
David: But it is my job to watch out for our daughter, isn't it? Just -- look, Babe has been put through the wringer these past few months. And I have a chance -- I have an opportunity to put a smile back on her face, to give her the peace, the happiness that she deserves. Now, all I have to do is tell Adam what he wants.
Krystal: Don't you even think about that. Now, you do that, and you're not going to ever talk to me again or to Babe.
David: What happened to the Krystal that would do anything -- everything -- to help her baby doll?
Krystal: That Krystal hurt a heck of a lot of people, including her baby doll.
David: You listen to me. You're hurting our daughter even more by keeping her son away from her.
Krystal: You know what? You may be Babe's daddy, but you only have rights because we choose to give you those rights. And let me warn you -- don't you cross that line. Don't you dare give Adam Chandler what he wants.
Adam: I do think your mommy is beginning to see our side of it, little Adam. Just think, she can hug you and kiss you and play with you whenever you want.
Babe: That would be wonderful.
Adam: Yes, of course it would. So what are you waiting for? Give your mother the gift of a life with you and her grandchild. And give little Colby the gift of a life with her father.
Babe: What do you think, little man? Should we give up Liza and Colby to help out your grandma? Yeah. I feel the same way. My son thinks you're full of it. And I agree.
Adam: You --
Babe: Now get out.
Adam: Are really an idiot. You're throwing away your last chance of happiness.
Babe: Well, I'm not going to destroy someone else so I can be happy. Not anymore, never again.
Adam: I will get Colby back. And you, on the other hand, will see your son practically never. And your mother will continue rotting in prison, all because you didn't have the brains to make a deal. Live with that.
[J.R. imagines a distraught
J.R.: Hey. What's the matter?
J.R.: It's all right, I'm here.
J.R.: You had to find out for yourself.
Greenlee: Don't worry. I'm not giving up.
Greenlee: I wonder if you have, like, a replay or if you have to feel every slap, kick, and punch again. I'm sorry --
Greenlee: What were you going to say?
Greenlee: No, you first.
Greenlee: No, no, no, no -- go.
Greenlee: No, what were you going to say already?
Greenlee: Me, either.
Greenlee: It's dropped.
Greenlee: Yeah, tell me about it. No more trying to be nice.
Greenlee: Would you help me get us out of here so I can insult you again without feeling guilty?
Di: Excuse me. Do you know if this bus heads downtown?
Babe: I don't, sorry. I'm not waiting for the bus.
Di: I recognize you. You're Babe Chandler.
Babe: Have we met?
Di: No, but I know your -- your -- picture from the papers. You're the one that kidnapped that baby.
Babe: Yep. That's me. Babe the babynapper. Every mother's worst nightmare, every child's biggest threat.
Di: What you did -- whew -- how do you live with yourself?
Babe: With a ton of guilt and a whole lot of regret and people like you reminding me every day. It's all part of the punishment. Look, I'm -- I am sure that you would love the opportunity to tell me off, but chances are, I've heard it before. Good luck with your bus, lady.
[Di looks terrified as tires screech and headlights shine on her.]
David: You have absolutely no faith in me.
Krystal: Prove me wrong.
David: I guess I should leave.
Krystal: Yeah, I think that's best.
Inmate: Guardian angel got sprung today, Krystal. Good news for Di, bad news for you.
Tad: Liza, all I can say is I'm sorry. Well, I hate this every bit as much as you do. No, no, no, there's not enough time. I'm sorry, it's the best I can do. Yeah. All right, you, too. I'll get in touch with you later.
Jamie: I hope I wasn't too late.
Tad: Come here.
Zach: You and Tad seem surprised that Braden was in the video.
Aidan: Yeah, well, it just goes against a theory we had, that's all. Are you sure there's no other way of tracking his movements that night?
Zach: There might be.
Aidan: Well? Don't hold out on me now. What have you got?
Zach: Why don't you tell me your theory and I will fill in the blanks.
Jonathan: How long? How long does this go on for? How long is she going to do this?
Greenlee: It's hard to say. It's her defense mechanism. When she can't handle the world around her, she withdraws.
Jonathan: All right, fine. Fine. You know what? It doesn't matter. It's going to make it easier for when Braden gets here.
Jonathan: Do you think I'm stupid?
Jonathan: It's useless,
Lily: No red, no red. No red. No red.
Braden: I'm here.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Erica: Your entire future depends on what you do in the next hour.
Sam: Who killed my father?
Zach: You deserve the truth, and if they won't tell you, I will.
Jonathan: They stay there, ok? That's it. That's the deal. You have to pick -- them or us.
