Zach: I know you're angry and confused --

Maria: Yeah, I'm angry. I am angry, and so don't pretend like you know what I'm going through right now.

Zach: I don't know. But I'm here.

Maria: You're here because Edmund called you, not because I did! I mean, are you thinking that I'm going to walk right out of his life and into yours? If you do, then you're a bigger fool than Edmund is.

Bianca: I'm waiting. What's the big news about Bess? This has to be about why Babe would leave town without her daughter. Come on, guys. What, are you going to make me guess?

Tad: No. No, you've waited far too long as it is.

David: Tad, whatever you say, whatever you think you've got to say, there will be consequences.

Bianca: Consequences? What's going on with you two?

David: Where's J.R.?

Bianca: He's running some errands. Why? This is about J.R. This -- this is -- he did something to Babe and that's why she left, right? Well, come on, tell me. What did J.R. do to Babe now?

J.R.: Wow. This day just gets better and better. FYI -- I didn't do anything to make Babe run. She came up with that idea all by herself -- well, that and the help from my brother. But I would love to hear what Tad has to say about my daughter.

Babe: You are just the sweetest boy in the whole, entire world. Yes, you are. I cannot believe you're back where you belong -- with us. Can you believe it, Jamie? He's really here.

Jamie: Hmm.

Babe: You see out there, big boy? That is Virginia, and we are flying warp speed, because we are going to make sure you're safe. We are. Jamie, how long do you think till we're in Florida? Jamie? Jamie!

[Car horn honks]

[Tires screech]

J.R.: So, how about it, Tad? Any news worth telling?

David: Tad, you have to think about Jamie, what this could do to him.

Bianca: What what could do to him? Look, Babe and Jamie leaving town without Bess -- none of it makes any sense. Tad, if you know something --

David: Tad is just upset because his kid skipped town.

Bianca: And you're not? I'm -- I'm very worried about both of them and this little girl. Tad, please just tell us what's going on.

J.R.: Yeah, I'm with Bianca. If you got something to say, just say it, especially if it concerns my daughter.

Tad: Your daughter?

J.R.: Yeah. Thank you for watching her. Hi -- of course my daughter. Isn't that right, Princess? What? You want me to say "Babe and my daughter"? She took herself out of the equation. Bess is mine. What's with you guys?

David: Did you get a letter from Babe?

J.R.: Oh, correspondence from my wife, or soon-to-be ex-wife, is really none of your business.

Tad: Bianca says you did.

J.R.: What of it?

Tad: What was in it?

J.R.: Well, lots of four-letter words I'd rather not mention in front of my daughter's ears.

Tad: So it was nothing but hate mail?

J.R.: Minus the anthrax. There was something about Jamie. It seems Babe plans to live happily ever after with my brother. She couldn't wait to grind it in my face, like I give a damn what she does or who she does it with.

Bianca: That doesn't sound like Babe.

J.R.: Well, there's a lot that you don't know about Babe. But, anyway, it doesn't really matter. I've got Bess, Babe's gone, and this Babe chapter in my life is officially over.

Tad: The hell it is.

Babe: It's ok, sweet baby James. You're ok. Hey, Jamie, no, really, it's ok. We -- we've been running on nothing but adrenaline and nerves the last couple of days. We should probably pull over anyway, and we can -- we can feed and change James, and a little rest isn't going to hurt any of us.

Jamie: I am sorry. I just -- I just wanted to keep you safe and that meant us getting far away as fast as we could.

Babe: Jamie, there's nothing safe about us getting wrapped around a tree. Look, we can stop now or we can stop in a thousand miles, it doesn't even matter to me. I always feel safe when I'm with you.

Jamie: All right, I saw a sign for a motel a couple miles back. We could stop there for the night.

Babe: Thank you.

Jamie: Sorry about that, squirt. Consider that driving lesson number one -- never drive tired. When you're older, I'll teach you all the cool stuff like doughnuts and double-clutching. But we won't tell your mom about that, right?

Babe: Yeah, right, you won't. I'm going to be right there in the front seat making sure you boys are wearing your seat belts and your helmets.

Jamie: Are you sure you're ok?

Babe: Yeah. I'm better than ok. I was just thinking that right about now, Bianca's probably putting Miranda down. She must be so happy.

Bianca: There is more to Babe and Jamie leaving town.

Tad: A truckload more.

Bianca: Well, whatever it is, I can handle it. You know you can trust me.

Tad: It's not that.

Bianca: Well, should we go someplace more private, then?

David: Tad, we really need to talk first about Jamie, before you say something we both regret.

Bianca: You guys are starting to freak me out.

J.R.: Good. I'm not the only one picking up on the weird vibe.

Tad: Bianca, there's nothing I would love more than to be able to tell you what I know.

Bianca: I thought you said that this was good news and -- but now it's bad?

Tad: No, things are just starting to get a little screwed up, and I don't want to say anything that would hurt somebody unintentionally, so I should get my facts straight. Therefore, I'm going to have a talk with David, although God knows facts aren't exactly his strong suit.

David: Can we get on with this, please?

J.R.: Feel free to use the library.

David: Yeah, right. Let's go.

Tad: I'll be back. I promise.

J.R.: Wow. Something's really got them going.

Bianca: Or someone. What did you do now, J.R.?

Edmund: It's too late, Brooke.

Brooke: It's not.

Edmund: Look, it's over.

Brooke: You can't throw away what you have with Maria.

Edmund: Brooke, it's been a long day, ok? I don't need to talk to you or anybody else, ok? I've made up my mind, I know what I'm doing.

Brooke: Kind of hard with those rocks in your head. Edmund, you and I have been friends for a long time, sometimes my lover, and my husband for a minute. And the reason that we have kept as friends is because we have been honest with each other. And, smart as you are, you sometimes need another voice in that messed-up head of yours. Now, if you don't want to hear it, I'll leave. Your call.

Edmund: There's nothing to say. Maria made her choice. All right? She kept Slaters secrets. She lied to me. She betrayed me.

Brooke: Well, I totally trumped Maria in the lies-and-betrayal department, but you got past it eventually.

Edmund: Different circumstances.

Brooke: Oh, yeah, I'll say. I knew your wife was alive, and instead of telling you, I married you. What I did was a million times worse than anything that Maria has done. You were so angry. I remember. I had to annul the marriage. You didn't speak to me forever.

Edmund: Is there a point?

Brooke: Yes. You were so angry and the things that you did made sense, but this does not. I mean, this slamming Maria with a divorce? No talking, not even any pretense at reconciling? I mean, it's like you've already made up your mind that this is going to happen. You know, that any excuse will do, that if she burns the toast, then she's out. And Slater comes along and, oh, there's your reason that you've been waiting for.

Edmund: Look, look, look -- listen to me, listen to me. I did not bring this reason into town. Maria did!

Brooke: Well, we have all done horrible things in the name of love, now, haven't we? Whatever choices Maria made, whatever lies she might have told, it was because she loves you, not Zach.

Zach: Is that what you believe, that I think so little of you that you can't be without a man?

Maria: Uh, no. Do you know what? Right now is really not a good time, Zach.

Zach: What Edmund did to you is awful. He treated you like property.

Maria: You don't know Edmund, and this is not what he normally is! He's just really angry and he's really hurt right now.

Zach: Ok, well, stop sticking up for him. Because you're hurting right now and I love you. So of course I'm going to reach out to you. Does that make me a bad guy?

Maria: No, it's just I can't take this -- this pressure.

Zach: There's no -- there's no pressure. Look at me. Take whatever you want or nothing at all. But just don't be angry at me because I'm giving you a choice.

Tad: This is ridiculous. Why'd you have to drag me all the way up here?

David: There are too many Chandlers in that place, and I wanted you far away from Bianca in case you went stupid.

Tad: In case I went stupid? It would help if I had all the answers that you told me J.R. knew.

Krystal: He does. He's just not copping to it.

Tad: And how do you know this?

Krystal: I had a run-in with Erica over at Bianca's. It seems J.R. told her all about Babe's letter.

Tad: He what?

Krystal: Except the way J.R. spun it, the letter is full of lies. According to J.R., Babe is lying that Bess is Miranda just to keep him from his daughter.

Tad: Well, Erica's not exactly J.R.'s biggest fan. Are you telling me she bought this?

Krystal: With every platinum card she's got. J.R. has got her convinced that Babe is just using Bianca to get back at J.R., so now Erica is all about protecting Bianca from Babe's "lies."

Tad: Well, what about Babe's letter to Bianca?

Krystal: I think he must've gotten to it first. He probably burned it and Bianca will never see it.

David: Thank God.

Tad: What do you mean, "Thank God"? How can you say that? Bianca still thinks that Miranda is dead.

David: That's because the rat of a son you helped raise lied to her, and now he wants to raise her baby.

Tad: Well, gosh, Dave, I can fix that real quick.

Krystal: Tad, wait!

Tad: What do you mean, wait? What, what, what -- there's more? What is it with you two? Does it ever end?

Krystal: You need to hear this.

Tad: No, Krystal, I should've heard it months ago. Everybody in town should've heard it. You got one minute. After that, I'm going back there, and I'm telling Bianca her daughter's alive.

David: Have a seat, Tad. You might want to strap yourself in. It's time you knew everything.

Man: Not much of a view, but the little tyke should sleep just fine.

Babe: He's halfway there already. By any chance, you wouldn't happen to have any cribs, would you?

Man: Ma'am, we're about four stars short of that kind of thing, but we got the color TV.

Jamie: No, this is great. Thanks.

Man: Mr. Anderson, you need anything, just holler at the front desk. No room service, but we got vending machines and ice in the lobby.

Babe: So, this will do just fine.

Jamie: Well, there's nothing growing in there at least.

Babe: Yeah, a shower, some sleep. Things will be even better in the morning.

Jamie: All right. I won't be long.

Babe: Well, I guess we might as well check out that color TV, huh? Let's see. All right.

[TV turns on]

Babe: So, big boy -- what do you want? Do we want some peaches or do we want some bananas? Hmm? Let's see.

Newscaster: In other news, there are no new developments in the kidnapping of the 8-month-old son of Pennsylvania's newly elected Lieutenant Governor, Kevin Buchanan.

[Babe raises volume]

Newscaster: Police are concerned that there still has been no word from the kidnappers. No ransom demand has been made. At this time, there are no suspects in the child's mysterious disappearance.

[Babe lowers volume]

Babe: Hmm. You hear that, my sweet baby James? Nobody suspects a thing.

Edmund: It took me a long time to forgive you, Brooke.

Brooke: But you did, and you can do the same for Maria.

Edmund: What Maria did -- it's beyond forgiveness.

Brooke: You're the one who is way beyond, way over the edge -- you and your damn pride.

Edmund: Oh, listen, it is not about pride. This is about Maria and her --

Brooke: It's about the chair. You fooled everyone because they think that you've come to terms with this life on wheels, that you've -- you have accepted this with grace and with dignity, but I know better because I know you. You cannot accept that Maria could still love you as much as she does --

Edmund: Ahem.

Brooke: Because you're only half the man that you were.

Edmund: That is enough, Brooke.

Brooke: And rejection is inevitable, isn't it?

Edmund: That is enough, Brooke!

Brooke: So it's better to reject her first. Reality check, Edmund. Maria's not the problem, you are, and you are shoving her out of your life because you feel inadequate. Well, get over it because you are more than adequate. You are a hell of a human being when you're thinking clearly.

Edmund: I know what I'm doing.

Brooke: I'm going to tell you something -- if you keep this up, it's going to work and Maria is going to be gone, and then what are you going to have? Nothing but that chair, and you're going to be a sad, bitter, lonely man the rest of your life.

Maria: I appreciate your concern, I really do, but I'm really kind of freaked out right now, so I can't --

Zach: Of course you're freaked out. He was attacking you.

Maria: No, you don't understand him. Ok?

Zach: Well, maybe I don't.

Maria: You don't.

Zach: Ok, all right, because he's a self-righteous, pompous idiot.

Maria: So what should I do? I should just pack a bag and -- I should just pack a bag, and I should come with you?

Zach: Yeah. No, I -- I know it's not that simple.

Maria: No, it's not that simple.

Zach: The point is that it just -- whether you come with me or you stay here or you call me a horse's ass, it makes no difference because my love for you is unconditional. And you have a decision to make. I understand that and I respect it.

Maria: Thank you.

Zach: But do me a favor -- if you do go back to Edmund, don't do it out of pity or remorse. Don't do it because you feel sorry for him and don't do it because you're buying into his betrayal act.

Maria: But I did betray him. I betrayed him because I kept your secret, Zach.

J.R.: You know, to tell you the truth, Bianca, I don't know what's going on with Tad and David.

Bianca: You did nothing to set them off?

J.R.: My guess is it's because their kids hit the road. I mean, it's reason for them to be upset. And, you know, I did lose a brother.

Bianca: You lost Jamie long before he left town.

J.R.: And I hate it. Doesn't mean I can't sympathize with Tad and David. I know if I lost Bess, if she disappeared --

[Miranda fusses]

J.R.: I'd wrestle the devil to get her back. Hey. You're being a little restless, aren't you? You -- you mind? Maybe you can calm her down. Here.

Bianca: Are you kidding? Hey, you. Hey, you squirmy-wormy. Look, everything's ok. Look, look who's here -- your daddy's here and I'm here, too.

J.R.: Mm-hmm. You know, I meant what I said about you being a mother figure in Bess' life. You know, everything has changed. You know, with Babe being gone, Bess is going to need all the love she can get, especially from you.

[Miranda laughs]

J.R.: Yeah.

Bianca: You mean that?

J.R.: Yeah. I mean, look at her. I want what's best for my daughter, and you're part of that package.

Bianca: Aw. It's time for somebody to dream some sweet dreams. That's right.

[Bianca singing]: Close your eyes, sleep is more than it seems, soon you'll discover a garden of dreams, a blossoming tapestry lights up the dark, dreams are the flowers that bloom in your heart.

Adam: What the devil is going on here?

Jamie: Ready to crash?

Babe: Not yet. I just can't stop looking at him. Part of me is afraid if I close my eyes, when I open them he's not going to be there.

Jamie: Hey, he's going to be here in the morning, and every morning after that.

Babe: Good night, my sweet angel.

Jamie: It's a long way from the Chandler mansion, isn't it?

Babe: And I couldn't be happier.

David: Babe and Jamie are in serious trouble.

Tad: Yeah, yeah, I got that part, Dave. Skip ahead, otherwise I got a date with Bianca.

David: We're talking kidnapping and murder.

Tad: Nice bluff.

Krystal: Murder?

Tad: All right, what do you know?

David: Paul Cramer is dead.

Tad: What, and you're saying you think Jamie had something to do with it?

Krystal: Wait, wait, wait -- back up. If Paul Cramer is dead, then where are the headlines?

David: I don't know. Maybe his body hasn't been found yet or maybe nobody gives a damn.

Tad: So how do you know about it?

David: I saw the body, and Jamie was standing right over it.

Tad: Oh, I see, and you're going to claim that you think he's the one that killed Cramer?

David: No. I did not see him pull the trigger.

Tad: All right, then you don't know he had anything to do with it.

David: Jamie and I were with Cramer right before it happened. Apparently, we had the same idea -- get to Paul and force him to cop to what he did to Babe and Bianca.

Tad: What happened?

David: I was working on Paul when Jamie showed up, screwed up everything, so Cramer took off. Well, I chased after him, and I lost him. I heard a gunshot in the cemetery. When I caught up with Paul, Jamie was standing right over him.

Tad: Well, did you talk to Jamie? What did he say?

David: No, no. He took off before he knew I was there.

Tad: Oh, come on, Hayward. You know as well as I do Jamie couldn't kill anyone.

Krystal: I'm with Tad on that.

David: I'm just telling you what I saw.

Tad: Well, I don't care what you saw. I don't care what you think. I don't care about any of your opinions. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm late for a mother-daughter reunion.

David: Wait a minute. We're not through here, Tad.

Tad: Oh, that's right -- the kidnapping.

David: Yes. It's a federal offense, and if Babe and Jamie get caught, they could very well spend the rest of their years behind bars.

Tad: Are you losing your mind? You saw yourself -- Bess is back at the Chandlers'. The odds of those two kids kidnapping her are about as great as the odds of Jamie committing a murder.

[Krystal shows Tad the front page of a newspaper with the headline of Ace's kidnapping]

Krystal: That's Babe's son. He's alive, and they took him.

Tad: So Babe's baby is alive? How is this possible?

David: Paul Cramer.

Tad: Is this true? Look at this -- why am I talking to you?

Krystal: Tad, that skeeve rigged the crash so that he could take Babe's son and give it to his sister, Kelly -- Kevin Buchanans wife, ex-wife?

Tad: He rigged a helicopter crash? You know, this is a whopper, even for you.

Krystal: Come on, think about it, Tad. By the time everybody showed up to the crash site, Paul had already taken Babe's son. He got nervous, he had to cover.

David: You remember Adam and J.R. threatened Paul with every torture known to man? So Paul lied to cover his backside, told everybody Bianca's child was Babe's.

Krystal: That's why we were so happy about that last DNA test. The results proved that Ace is Babe's son.

Tad: Well, I'll be damned. What a mess. You're absolutely sure Cramer's dead? Good, because if he wasn't, I'd have to do it myself.

David: Looks like your son beat you to it.

Tad: Oh, shut up, Hayward. You know that Jamie's not a killer.

David: Maybe, maybe not. But he's still on the rack for kidnapping.

Tad: No. He couldn't be. You said it yourself -- that baby belongs to Babe. So a good attorney could get them off.

David: Wait a minute -- where the hell do you think you're going?

Tad: Where the hell do you think I'm going? All this, everything you've told me, doesn't change one simple fact -- Bianca deserves to know about her daughter.

Bianca: You know what? I better get going. I got things to do.

J.R.: Thank you for helping with Bess.

Bianca: Oh, you're welcome. Anytime.

J.R.: We'll give you a call soon, huh?

Bianca: Ok.

J.R.: All right.

Bianca: Bye, sweetheart.

J.R.: Say "bye."

Bianca: Bye.

J.R.: Bye-bye. Bye-bye!

[J.R. laughs]

[Door closes]

Adam: Why is Bianca Montgomery singing lullabies to my granddaughter?

J.R.: Bianca and I are patching things up.

Adam: Are you out of your mind? You finally have Bess all to yourself and you're going to let that bowl of trouble back in your life?

J.R.: Where have you been?

Adam: Busy. I found a way to yank Jamie back into Pine Valley. The Martins beat us on that DVD gambit, but thanks to Jamie's stupidity, I have a no-fail weapon, and I don't have to fake anything. Don't even have to lie.

J.R.: No. Forget it.

Adam: No, it's brilliant! And it's so simple. That 10 grand that Jamie stole from my safe -- I caught him in the act. All I do is press charges, an APB goes out, and Jamie comes back in handcuffs. And then Tad Martin either tells me where Liza took Colby, or his son goes straight to jail.

J.R.: No -- no way, Dad! You cannot do it!

Adam: I can do it and I will do it! In no time, Colby will be back where she belongs, playing --

J.R.: Are you listening to me? Did you hear anything that I said?

Adam: Son, I can understand why you're upset, why you're concerned. The downside is that floozy could come back --

J.R.: No, Dad, you do not even understand the stakes right now.

Adam: What are you talking about? We can both get what we want. We can get our daughters back with no Babe. All I have to do is put the squeeze on the Martins and Colby will be mine.

J.R.: You try it, I'll tell the court I gave Jamie the money.

Adam: You'll what?

J.R.: I'll go on that stand with my hand on the Bible and call you a liar!

Brooke: You lost your legs. Guess what -- bad stuff happens. I lost a child. Everyone loses something. But you don't give up. You fight. And you don't push away the people that you love, you hold them closer and you thank God every day for them. It's up to you now, Edmund. You have to make it right. Ok, lecture over. I just hope you have enough sense left in that head of yours to get Maria back before it is too late.

Zach: "Betrayal" is Edmund's word, not mine. And besides, that's not what happened. Our past stayed in the past. And you went home to him every night -- his bed, his life. And that's all that matters, right?

Maria: I love him. I love him despite everything, and I've got my kids to think about. I can't just -- I can't just run away, you know? I need to stay here. I need to stay here and fight.

Zach: I'd expect nothing less.

Maria: It's just that -- it's just that it's really hard.

Zach: Hey, hey, hey.

Maria: It's really hard and it hurts.

Zach: Ok. It's ok. Ok.

[Spying Zach comforting a weeping Maria, Edmund spins his chair around and leaves the stable.]

Maria: I am so sorry. I didn't mean to lose it like that. It's just -- oh, my God.

Zach: You don't have to apologize to anyone.

Maria: I know, but I -- you didn't run when I'm having a total meltdown, and I'm sorry.

Zach: I've survived worse. What do you think? You still want to go for the ride?

Maria: Ah -- no, thank you. But don't think I'm not tempted.

Zach: Can you promise me something?

Maria: No, I can't really promise anything right now. I'm, like --

Zach: Shh. You were there for me. And without you, I'd -- I would've gone mad, so I think now it's my turn to be your friend. So you can come talk to me, and I'll listen to you any time you want, night or day. No strings attached.

David: Are you out of your mind?

Krystal: Tad, please. I feel the same way you do about Bianca, but you cannot do this.

Tad: The hell I can't. Don't you realize there's a young woman out there grieving for the loss of her daughter? She thinks she hears Miranda in the middle of the night. Bianca thinks she's losing her mind. Doesn't that mean anything to you?

Krystal: Tad, it rips me up inside.

Tad: Then you've got to understand how wrong this is!

Krystal: I know that! It couldn't be more wrong!

David: Nobody is arguing that Bianca shouldn't get her baby back. It's a matter of how we do it and when.

Tad: When? What about tonight? You got something better to do?

Krystal: I would love to do that, but you've got to listen to David.

Tad: Yeah, obviously it's working for you.

David: Look, nobody wants Miranda back in Bianca's arms again more than I do, but it's not that simple, Tad.

Tad: Sure it is. "Bianca, Bess is Miranda." What could possibly be more simple?

David: And what about the fallout? We have to do major damage control here!

Tad: The only reason you are in this position is because you refused to tell the truth a few months ago, and you didn't do the right thing by Bianca in the first place!

David: I have been trying for months to do the right thing for everybody involved, so why don't you just shut up and try to follow! The last time Cramer disappeared, the police went directly to Babe. Now, if they find out that she kept the child of another mother, who do you think is going to end up right on the top of the murder suspect list? Especially when they figure out that Paul actually pulled off the switch to replace his sister's stillborn child. And let us not all forget that this little boy disappeared, amazingly, at the same time that Cramer was murdered. Jamie and Babe are gone, the baby is gone, Cramer is dead. Are you getting where I'm going with this?

Krystal: Babe and Jamie took Ace. They knew what Paul Cramer did. They are going to be prime suspects in his murder.

David: The motive is all there, Tad -- open-and-shut case. So if you tell Bianca that Miranda is alive now, your son and my daughter could very well end up being charged with murder and kidnapping by morning. You want to help Bianca? Well, guess what -- we all do. But are you willing to sacrifice your son in order to do it?

Babe: You're supposed to be getting some shuteye. Are we keeping you awake?

Jamie: No. I was just thinking.

Babe: About what?

Jamie: About the last time you and I spent a night in a cheap motel room. We've come a long way since then. No regrets, right? Ok, well, maybe a few, but what matters is now. And James, the future.

Babe: You don't have to do this, you know.

Jamie: Do what?

Babe: Me and James -- we can make it the rest of the way ourselves.

Jamie: I told you I'm in this for good.

Babe: It's just you've given up so much already -- your family and your friends. It's --

Jamie: Yeah, but look at what I gained. I mean, yes, besides being a wanted kidnapper on the lam, I'm exactly where I want to be, Mrs. Anderson. And how about you? This is the first time we've had a chance to stop and breathe.

Babe: So us being notorious kidnappers doesn't make us bad people, does it?

Jamie: No, there's no way. We're the good guys.

Maria: What's going on?

Edmund: I just told Maddie. I'm moving to the hunting lodge, and we're getting a divorce.

Maddie: You guys are just having a bad fight. Dad's overreacting. Everything will be ok in the morning. Right? Mom, what about your rule, remember? Never go to bed mad?

Maria: I know, honey, but it's really -- it's not that simple.

Maddie: It is! Just make up like you always do!

Maria: Honey, I think -- I think it really is better right now if your dad goes to the lodge.

Maddie: No!

Maria: Yeah, it's just -- why don't you go upstairs, and we'll talk about it, ok? Go upstairs. I'll be there in a minute.

Edmund: Go on, honey. Do what your mother says.

Maddie: Daddy, please, fix it like you always do.

Edmund: Go on.

Maria: What the hell was that? How dare you drop that bomb on her like that.

Edmund: She knows we're having problems. She should be told.

Maria: I mean, what are you going to do, you going to fly to France and bust in on Sam's exchange program and tell him? Come on, Edmund, there's a chance still for us. All we have to do is take it.

Edmund: No chances left. Let's get it over with.

Maria: Ok, if you want to just get it over with, then do it. Get out of here now, Edmund.

[Door latch rattles]

Maddie: No, no! Oh, please, Mom, don't do this to us! You can't! Please.

[Babe hums as she feeds James in the motel room]

[J.R. suddenly bursts through the door]

J.R.: Give me my kid, Babe.

Babe: Jamie? Jamie, help me.

J.R.: I said give me my son!

Babe: Jamie, why aren't you waking up? Help!

J.R.: There's nothing he can do to help, Babe.

Babe: Jamie, please, wake up! J.R., please stop it! No! No!

[James cries]

Babe: J.R., stop it! No! Jamie! J.R., no!

J.R.: Wave goodbye, Babe, because this is the last time you're going to see him.

Babe: Oh, God! Oh, my God.

Jamie: What -- what's wrong? What is it?

Babe: Oh, my God, I had -- I had a nightmare. It was just a dream. It was a dream.

Jamie: Babe, you're shaking.

Babe: Oh, God. I had -- I dreamt that J.R., that he -- he came, and he was here and he took James and he -- he said that I'd never see him again.

Jamie: Ok -- shh. Shh. It's all right. Come here. It was just a nightmare. Hey, I promise you -- you'll never have to be afraid of J.R. ever again.

Adam: What's gotten into you, J.R.? We're on the same side.

J.R.: Not if you're ramped up to bring Jamie back into Pine Valley.

Adam: Did I miss something?

J.R.: If Jamie comes back, that means Babe comes back, and if that little bitch opens her mouth, we're going to have so many problems that you don't even know.

Adam: All right, we'll make some problems of our own.

J.R.: I mean it, Dad! Just drop it.

Adam: Just like that? You want me to -- to give up? To let my daughter go, maybe never see her again when I have the power to find her?

J.R.: Yeah. Yeah, that's exactly what I want.

Adam: Well, I don't know what the hell's gotten into you, but I am not going to give up, I'm not going to quit. I'm going to press charges. Jamie's going to wind up in shackles.

J.R.: My wife and my brother are dead -- do you understand me? They're dead!

Adam: J.R., I understand your anger. There is no reason we can't both get what we want.

J.R.: You so much as wiggle a pinky to bring them back, I will make sure that you never see your granddaughter ever again.

Adam: Oh, my God, J.R., there's no need to overreact.

J.R.: Bess and I -- we will leave, and we will leave so fast that you will never see her. Nobody will ever see her. Do you hear me? I will take her away from you. I'll take her away from everyone! She's mine! I don't care what anyone says. This is my daughter, my baby! She's mine!

David: Do you understand now, genius? Do you see why we have to be careful?

Krystal: We want Bianca to have her child back more than anything, but we cannot risk ripping up Babe and Jamie's lives -- also, that little boy's.

David: So, Tad? What's it going to be?

Bianca: Yeah, Tad. What's it going to be? How about one of you gives me the truth. Now.

>> On the next "All My Children" --

Kendall: I think your wife has lost it.

Greenlee: Shouldn't they get married?

Brooke: They definitely deserve each other.

Jonathan: Are you asking me to move in?

Maggie: Will you?

Ethan: I'm not your son. I'm nothing to you.

Zach: Yes, you are.

Tad: No one deserves answers more than you do, and it's way past time you got them.
