All My Children Transcript Wednesday 9/22/04
Proofread by Gisele
Maggie: I think this is it.
Danielle: If Jamie were a real friend, we'd be meeting at a sushi bar.
Reggie: Well, if you want raw fish, there's a pet store down the street.
Lily: I'd like to go there.
Reggie: Maybe later. Lily, are you cool with this? Is everything ok?
Lily: I'm extremely cool.
Maggie: Oh, here he is. Hey. What's up with the field trip to Llanview?
Jamie: Well, this is where it went down -- or close to it.
Danielle: Where what went down?
Jamie: I'm not sure.
Danielle: The food had better be good.
Jamie: Babe did a 180 about leaving J.R., but why? What triggered it? And our mission is to find that out.
Maggie: As simple as a blow to the head.
Danielle: Or an alien abduction.
Reggie: They're just kidding.
Jamie: We have to find out where Babe went and who she talked to that night. Well, then we'll know why she's sticking with J.R.
Zach: That's a large amount of money, but I'm a reasonable man. So tell Mr. Gulan I'm in. No, for the whole thing, yeah, sure. Hi. What brings you here?
J.R.: My father.
Zach: Your daddy sent you?
J.R.: No. You know that night you guys were all playing murder? There was a crate -- in fact, it was a very large crate -- that was shipped from here to an undisclosed location.
Zach: I don't see the connection.
J.R.: My father was in that crate, wasn't he?
Liza: Look, just keep an open mind and try to answer the question honestly. Do you know where Adam is?
Tad: Well, the words "beyond redemption" spring to mind.
Liza: All right.
Tad: And it doesn't look like you're in the mood for joking.
Liza: Look, I know I've given you a million and one reasons to hate me, but I need to find him. Babe is not the only one battling the Chandlers for the good of her child.
Bianca: Your son? Babe, what are you talking about?
David: Bianca, did you find Kendall?
Bianca: No. Babe, answer me.
Krystal: You know what? I'm sorry. We really have to go. We got to get home. Bess is waiting.
Bianca: Right. Bess.
David: Right. Let me drive you.
Bianca: Bess, your daughter, but you just said, "He's my son." Who's your son, Babe?
J.R.: You answer me, damn it.
Zach: I have no reason to ship anything that large from my office.
J.R.: Oh, no, not from your office. This crate was picked up at a shed on this property so you could hide it.
Zach: Nothing gets by you for long, does it?
J.R.: You think it's funny? Because I'm really tired of these stupid games you're playing, Slater.
Zach: I'm not in the habit of shipping human cargo.
J.R.: Oh, you make an exception for my father, though, don't you?
Zach: I didn't.
J.R.: Then you made it possible for someone else. David Hayward -- you're an accomplice with him.
Zach: I would never do anything that could help David Hayward in any way. And although airmailing your father sounds like a good idea, I think that'd be too much of an effort.
J.R.: Yeah, so, you see, you have a lot of effort put into that whole Babe-Bianca situation -- the hidden-camera bust in my hotel suite? Maybe they convinced you to get rid of my father.
Zach: You're wrong again. If you're out of theories, maybe you just --
J.R.: You have, like, what, 100 surveillance cameras here?
Zach: That's a conservative estimate.
J.R.: On the tables, the slot machines, the grounds outside. I'll tell you want I want. I want everything that was recorded that night my father disappeared.
Zach: And I want a steak, large fries, and a beer. The difference is I can get what I want.
J.R.: See -- see, now you're not listening to me. I haven't dragged the police into this, but I will.
Zach: Why go through all that trouble? For whatever reason, your controlling, egomaniac parent's disappeared. Why not enjoy it?
Tad: As much as I would love to take the credit for ridding the planet of Adam Chandler, I believe the honor goes to David Hayward.
Liza: What did David do? I mean, should church bells be pealing? Should there be rejoicing throughout the land?
Tad: You mean, is it permanent? The answer's I don't know.
Tad: Well, what do you care? You and Adam have already done the custody cha-cha over Colby, haven't you?
Liza: Yeah. You know what? We settled out of court. And then I walked in on Adam and J.R. setting up Babe.
Tad: Oh, so now Adam is using Colby to blackmail you?
Liza: Yeah. If I don't keep my mouth shut, then he's going to legally sue me for my own child.
Tad: Well, he can't -- he -- ok.
Liza: Yeah, he can give it the old college try. You know, in Adam's contact book, there are two types of judges -- honest and "in my pocket." Guess which list is longer.
Tad: So if he does the dishonest thing, you can just appeal.
Liza: Right, I can appeal until the day I die. In the meantime, what kind of person is Colby going to become?
Tad: Probably a lot like J.R. -- fought over, lied to, torn in half. Not a pretty picture.
Liza: You know, unless Adam stays gone, I might as well just do exactly what he wants.
Tad: Well, you know something? Under Adam's thumb might be just exactly where you belong, because you're the one that started this when you told J.R. that Babe never got that annulment from Paul Cramer.
Liza: You're right. It's all my fault.
Danielle: So I get a salad with that, too, right? Ok, hold the peppers and tomatoes, just the lettuce and carrots -- anything else that comes with a salad that's not red. What kind of salad dressing do you have?
Reggie: All of them, all right? She just named all of them.
Danielle: Ok. So I'll have the balsamic honey mustard.
Waitress: We don't have --
Reggie: Just bring her the honey and the mustard. She'll do it herself.
Reggie: Thank you.
Reggie: What's wrong with you? All right, we're here to help Jamie. You're worried about food.
Danielle: Like they're going to sit here and let us take up all this space just for a couple of iced teas? Please.
Jamie: She might have a point.
Reggie: And a tapeworm. Anyway, we have a mystery to solve, people.
Lily: That's why I'm here -- to help solve the mystery. I'm really good at them.
Danielle: Tell my why your brother's in such a mood.
Reggie: That's hardly a mystery, now, is it?
Maggie: Look, can you please call this meeting to order, fast?
Jamie: Babe said she wound up in Llanview because she took a wrong turn. She needed help, so she went to the Palace Hotel for directions.
Danielle: So why aren't we at the Palace Hotel?
Jamie: I covered it. All I could get out of them was that she talked to some guy named Kevin Buchanan for a while.
Reggie: Well, if she talked to him, maybe he changed her mind. Let's give him a call.
Jamie: No, that's too easy. See, when she left my dad's place, she was on a mission. When she showed up at the hotel, she was genuinely lost, according to the waiter that I spoke to, which means that she made another stop.
Maggie: So what do we do?
Jamie: Recon. Llanview is only 30 miles away from Pine Valley. If Babe had only driven here back to home, that means that on her trip-o-meter it'd only be 60 miles. It said 80. That's 20 miles unaccounted for.
Maggie: Wait, so you're saying that's all we got to go on, is some meter in a car?
Jamie: So far, yeah.
Danielle: You're serious?
Maggie: But you don't know the trip-meter started when she left you at your dad's house.
Jamie: I'm not sure of that, no. But I know she hasn't driven it in a while, and it's still at my dad's and the tank is pretty full. Now, we need to find out where she drove, got lost, and ended up having to get directions from the Palace Hotel.
Reggie: Maybe she just drove around in circles for a little bit and ended up getting lost.
Maggie: Or maybe she just wanted to shop it off. I mean, you could easily get, like, 20 miles just looking for a spot at the mall.
Jamie: Ok, guys, that doesn't add up. It wasn't like Babe was looking at dresses, then all of a sudden decided "Yeah, I want to stay with my crappy, abusive husband."
Lily: Well, did you question Babe? That should always be the first step.
Jamie: Yeah, I asked her.
Maggie: Ok, what did she say?
Jamie: She said that she pretty much just wants me to buzz off -- stay away from her and stop screwing up her life.
Danielle: Excuse me. J.R.'s the one destroying that girl's life.
Maggie: What did you say?
Jamie: I'd steer clear. Babe can do whatever she wants with her life.
Reggie: Then why are we wasting time waiting on Danielle's 12-course meal in a diner in Llanview? Why?
Jamie: Why do you think? I lied.
Bianca: Babe, just tell me what you meant. It's not so difficult.
Babe: Bess is fine. You don't have to worry.
Bianca: I'm not worried about Bess. I'm worried about you. You have a son?
Krystal: No. I think you misunderstood what --
Bianca: She just said, "He's my son."
David: No. I was standing one foot away from her, and she said --
Krystal: She said, "If he were my son."
Krystal: That's all.
Bianca: I know what I heard.
David: Why are you making such a big deal about this?
Bianca: Because you're all acting really strange, ok? None of this makes any sense. Babe, you went back to J.R. after all of the terrible things that he did to you. David, you used another doctor's name to get a baby's file sent over from Llanview? I mean, you're all obviously covering something.
Babe: I'm sorry. Bianca, I don't want to keep anything from you.
Bianca: You know, just tell me then it's none of my business. Tell me to butt out, ok, that it's only for people who are really close to it.
Babe: No, you're one of them.
Bianca: Look, I have no right to stick my nose in this, ok?
Babe: No one has more right. You're like family, Bianca. If I can't trust you, I can't trust anyone. Babe: Bianca and I need to talk alone.
Bianca: Ok, what's the story?
Babe: I -- I haven't suddenly gone insane or anything. I don't love J.R. I don't even like him.
Bianca: All right. Then just go through with the divorce.
Babe: I have to make J.R. believe that I want this marriage to work.
Bianca: This is about as clear as mud.
Babe: I'm buying time.
Bianca: Ok, for what?
Babe: J.R. -- he has to think that he's in control, that he has me right where he wants me.
Bianca: Ok, but why? You're still not telling me anything.
Babe: Believe me, Bianca, everything that I'm doing -- it's for my child.
Bianca: Which one? Bess or your son?
Lily: May I see the map?
Maggie: There's not much to go on.
Reggie: Maybe we should all just do what Babe says, ok?
Jamie: Hey, Reggie, you have no idea what I'm talking about.
Maggie: Maybe Babe wants Jamie out of the way so he doesn't get hurt. I mean, she's making sure Jamie's out of the line of the Chandler fire and more stabbing. It's a fake-out, really.
Reggie: Oh, so now you're on Babe's side? Jamie, can you believe this, how easy that just happened? Women -- they don't need a reason. They just flip whenever they want.
Maggie: Stupid, I'm on his side, ok? If you want us to help Babe, you know that I'm in.
Man: Are you lost?
Lily: No. Are you? You could use my map.
Man: I just thought -- you were sitting here all alone.
Lily: Yes, I am.
Man: You mind if I join you?
Lily: You can sit down, but I can't talk to you anymore. You're a stranger.
Man: Well, that's easy to change. Hi. I'm Frank. You're -- what's your name?
Frank: See, Lily, now we know each other.
Lily: Just our names.
Frank: Well, that's a start, right? What are you doing?
Lily: I'm solving a mystery.
Frank: With a map? Hey, I was born and raised here. I can take you where you want to go.
Lily: You can? Well, what if I don't know exactly where that is?
Frank: We can find it together. My car's right outside. Come on. It'll give us time to get to know each other better.
Lily: All right.
Liza: I never would have believed that the fallout would endanger an innocent child -- two innocent children.
Tad: No. You were too busy trying to nail the oh-so-guilty Babe -- and Krystal and me.
Liza: Krystal --
Tad: Careful, Liza, two words -- "thin ice."
Liza: I just thought that if Babe went running off into the sunset, that her loving mother would follow. I deserve every shred of hatred you feel right now.
Tad: Hmm. "Hate the sin, not the sinner."
Liza: I'm sorry?
Tad: Oh, it's just one of those bumper stickers that Opal used to mumble, you know, to me and Jenny when we were kids, usually before she did something heinous. "I don't hate you, but what you did --"
Liza: Yeah, after everything I've done. I mean, look what it's gotten me -- absolutely nothing. I could have clued Babe in to J.R.'s real agenda, and Jamie wouldn't have been stabbed. I have to be the dumbest woman that's ever lived -- had a child with Adam, divorced him, still thought I could live in his zip code for all of eternity.
Tad: Well, they've got a zip code in hell?
Liza: It's just -- you know, it's impossible. There is no peaceful co-existence with a Chandler. You know, if Babe actually thinks that this reconciliation with J.R. is going to last, well, boy, you know, she's going to be in for it later.
Tad: No, she won't be, because neither Jamie or I is going to let them get to Babe or Bess.
Liza: Well, Babe is very lucky to have you -- you and Krystal. Lucky.
Tad: Liza, I've got something to tell you. I proposed to Krystal.
Zach: You've finally been dealt some aces. Don't fold now.
J.R.: But my father's missing --
J.R.: And if I find you had anything to do with that --
Zach: Call it cosmic justice for all the crimes that he's committed. No? Last year he flew back here from Canada from a fishing trip because he wanted to commit a murder. Someone else did that for him. And once he tried to kidnap Erica Kane because he wanted to kill her boyfriend, and that was blamed on a brain wart. Wow. Once that was removed, he was free to go to torture your mother, to impregnate Liza Colby -- did that by buying a sperm bank. Don't really know what that's about. He staged his own death --
J.R.: No, no, what are you doing, huh? You trying to write a biography? You seem to not care where my father's been shipped to, but you memorize his whole life? I don't understand.
Zach: It's a hobby.
J.R.: Well, that's a really cool hobby. Where do you get your information?
Zach: Not too long ago, you shipped out on a steamer. Why was that? No, come on, what did Adam do? Or was it just that the pressure was so much that it either had to be get rid of him or get rid of yourself?
J.R.: That's not the way it was at all.
Zach: Then what was it? Did he lean on you? Did he tell you what schools to go to? What girls to date? Because that's a big deal. Bloodline's a big deal with guys like your father, because the important mergers seem to be made in the bedroom, not the boardroom. And you're a lucky man because you have a child. So no matter how much you screw up, there's always hope for the future.
J.R.: You may know some facts about my father, but you don't know my father.
Zach: Adam Chandler's living proof that some men were never meant to be fathers, because they don't know how to love. They only know how to control, to manipulate, to twist their own children into their own self-image, while all the while reminding them that they will never be as powerful as they are. And any success you will achieve only happened because they put it in motion, so at the end of the day, all you are is a pale reminder of the old man. Adam Chandler calls you Junior. That's the name you go by. Is that all you want to be?
J.R.: Why the hell are you so interested in my father and me?
Babe: I love Bess more than I ever thought that I could ever love anyone.
Bianca: So everything that you're doing is for her?
Babe: For all of us.
Bianca: Babe, you're still not making any sense.
Babe: I know that Bess is going to end up with the right parent, and I know 100% in my mind who that parent is.
Bianca: Well, with the tape that we made in the casino suite, we can pretty much guarantee that that's not going to be J.R.
Babe: Chances are better than pretty much. I'm going to see to it that it happens. But, first, I just have to nail the lid down on this.
Bianca: This what? You're not telling me anything.
Babe: Look, Bianca, I promise you it's all going to make sense and in the end everything's going to be all right.
Bianca: And in the meantime?
Babe: You just have to trust me. Oh, Bianca, come here. I promise you I'm going to make everything work out for all of us. Can you just go with me on this?
Bianca: All right, just swear to me that if there's anything that I can do you'll let me?
Babe: I swear.
Bianca: Ok, and be careful. Don't trust J.R.
Bianca: Take care of yourself -- and Bess.
Babe: I will.
Bianca: Hi. It's me. Where are you? I really need to talk to you about Babe.
Reggie: Where do you think you're going with my sister?
Frank: Your -- come on, man.
Reggie: Yeah, one of those newly blended families you read all about.
Lily: Reggie, this is Frank. Frank, this is my brother, Reggie.
Reggie: Yeah, I would say it's nice to meet you, but it's not.
Lily: Frank was helping me solve the map puzzle.
Jamie: We don't need his help.
Reggie: Get lost, dude.
Frank: I --
Reggie: I said get out of here now.
Lily: Did I do something wrong?
Maggie: No, no, sweetie. You shouldn't talk to strangers, ok?
Danielle: Yeah, there's too many weirdoes out there.
Lily: I know him. He's Frank.
Reggie: No, Lily, he's a liar. What he was looking for, it's not on that map, all right? Trust me.
Lily: He was going to take me to where I could solve the mystery.
Jamie: Where's that?
Lily: Here. I found a big clue.
Babe: So Bianca's ok, and it's definitely hard not telling her the truth, but somehow I put her mind at ease.
Krystal: Thank goodness. The last thing we need is Bianca sniffing around -- not until we're sure what's what with Ace.
David: And how did you ease her mind without telling her the truth?
Babe: I just told her that it would all make sense soon and -- and that everything I was doing was for my child.
Krystal: Every word of that true.
Babe: And even if things don't work out for me and Ace, Bianca will have Bess back.
Krystal: Honey, you're right not breathing a word of this to Bianca, because if it gets back to J.R. that Bess is not his and that Ace might be, there's just no telling what that son of an Adam will try to pull. J.R. will think of some sick way to swoop in and grab that little boy.
Babe: You're so right. I know. I can't say anything at all until Ace is back in my arms, and then --
David: All right, well, let's not get ahead of ourselves, ok? Assuming -- and this is a very big assumption -- assuming that Ace is your child doesn't mean that you're getting him back right away. At the very least, the Buchanans are going to put up one hell of a fight.
Krystal: If that boy is part Carey, then we're going to raise him.
David: If he's part Carey, he's also part Chandler. Now, factor in the Buchanans into that mix, and you've got yourself one ugly tug of war.
Krystal: Well, who says J.R. even gets to tug on that rope?
David: All right, wait a minute. What was that? That happened earlier. Now, look, it's one thing to keep Bianca in the dark, but now you're going to do the same thing to me? What's going on? What don't I know?
Babe: Ever since I found out that my baby boy's alive, it's like -- it's like heaven's come down and opened up shop here on earth. It's -- I almost feel like anything's possible.
David: But we don't know for sure that Ace is yours.
Babe: But I do know it in my heart. And once I have my baby boy back in my arms, if God blesses us with another miracle, I'm going to rename my baby boy after his father -- James Martin.
Krystal: Do you want to sit down?
David: Jamie Martin? You still believe that Jamie could be -- what about the paternity test? The results proved that J.R. was the father.
Babe: Technically, no. I had Paul Cramer get ahold of the results to make sure that they said that J.R. was the father, but I never even saw them. The only thing I'm going off on is Paul Cramer's word.
Krystal: Yeah, and we know what that's worth.
Babe: Yeah, Paul, the same lowlife who told me my baby was dead and lied to J.R. and Adam and said that Miranda was mine.
Krystal: I would love to see that filthy little Cramer bug get crushed.
David: But why would he lie about who the baby's father was? I mean, why did Cramer care?
Babe: Because I threatened to have Bess tested again just to make sure. And if I would have --
David: You would have found out that she wasn't yours, either, and had him thrown in jail.
Babe: Exactly. And meanwhile, Paul's playing "Baby, baby, who's got the baby?"
Krystal: Yeah, I wonder why he was doing that.
Babe: Yeah, I wonder why -- so he could take my sweet baby boy and give him to his sister, Kelly.
David: That still has to be proved.
Babe: And if it is and if it turns out that Jamie is the father, all of our problems are going to be solved.
David: Great. That poor kid -- first a Chandler, then a Martin. There's no step up.
Jamie: How did you come up with this?
Lily: You said 20 miles, so I marked off 10 miles on either side of the highway between Pine Valley and here. It's the locus of points which are a fixed distance from the line.
Jamie: That's the farthest Babe could have gone.
Danielle: So she went somewhere within that area?
Reggie: Yeah, instead of feeding her face, she actually used her brain.
Jamie: This narrows it down, but we still got a lot to cover.
Maggie: Ok, well, then let's get going. I mean, we obviously have our work cut out for us.
Danielle: Right, I'm not done yet.
Reggie: Well, wrap it up. We have to go. All right, look, a bunch of iced teas and one Jabba-the-Hutt special --
Danielle: Oh, spare me.
Reggie: Comes to --
Lily: With 15% tip, we all owe $2.22 for our drinks. With 20% tip, we all owe $2.49. Danielle's meal and drink adds up to $14.13. So with 15% tip --
Danielle: Hey -- let me see that.
Reggie: Well, she's right.
Danielle: How would you know? Ok.
Reggie: Good job.
Maggie: Now I'm ready -- this is really been -- you did a very good job.
Maggie: We never run out --
Reggie: Waitress? Can you show her the kitchen? She has to wash dishes.
Danielle: I'll just call my dad.
Reggie: Oh, no, not on my --
Lily: I got it.
Danielle: You sure do. Where'd you get all that?
Lily: I like to save my money.
Reggie: Oh, saving.
Reggie: Isn't that a new financial concept?
Jamie: Ok, you guys want to get started? I mean, I got a few more web searches, then I'll catch up.
Maggie: Ok. Come on, guys, let's go.
Reggie: Just an expression. Don't worry. Just an expression.
Jamie: All right, Kevin Buchanan. Bianca, what's up? Babe's all right?
Bianca: You know, Jamie, I thought her decision to stay with J.R. was crazy, but -- Jamie, Babe said she has a son. A son.
Liza: Well, it's -- it's ok. I mean, this is just something that's sneaking up and biting me. You know, I encouraged you to find love after you were grieving for Dixie. I just never really thought it would be Krystal, but --
Tad: It was good advice, and I'm grateful.
Liza: Yeah, I want you to be happy. I'm just sorry.
Tad: That it's not the two of us being happy together.
Liza: Look, you know what? You and I, we tried it every which way over the years. We were friends and enemies, lovers, friends, enemies.
Tad: You think we could back up a bit to friends?
Liza: We could if you were willing.
Tad: I'm already there.
Liza: Hmm. Thanks. Well, you know I can't leave it like this. I have to do something.
Tad: Oh, Liza, I don't know. I think at this point you should just leave it alone.
Liza: No, I need to do something with my life. I can't just walk around in Adam's minefields. And Colby? I mean, look at J.R. He came back a whole new person when he was overseas, and look what Adam's been able to do to him in less than a year! I am not going to let him warp Colby. I just -- I couldn't live with myself.
Zach: Why did you come back from that steamer? And did you really think you pulled it together enough so you could take on the old man? You didn't bring Babe back to Pine Valley because you thought your dad was going to just welcome her with open arms into the family. You brought her back here because you wanted to beat your dad at his own game. If you can't beat him, join him, right?
J.R.: Whatever choices I made, it's my business. It's my business.
Zach: I know that, I know. But you can still break with him. I swear to you, it's the only way you can ever be human again. So wherever your father is, just leave him be.
J.R.: I want those recordings. If you don't give them to me, I will get a court order.
Zach: Two things. Number one -- don't ever threaten me. And number two -- those discs are recorded-over every 24 hours, unless we see something suspicious.
J.R.: Unless you make an exception like you did for those two bitches -- the whole lesbian fake-out.
Zach: Now, if you ever say anything about Babe or Bianca again, I swear to God --
J.R.: You're going to what, huh? What? You going to pack me up and ship me off, too? You can't hurt me. You can't even touch me.
Zach: I know what I forgot -- that disc featuring you ranting at your wife.
J.R.: Hmm -- yeah, that. That's a good one, that DVD, I bet you show that at all your parties, right?
J.R.: "The Girl's Gone Stupid"?
Zach: No. But I did screen it for one of my employees -- a security guard.
J.R.: So what?
Zach: Ex-cop decorated for bravery. He's one of the most honest men I know. Anyway, if you think that you can accuse Babe of doctoring this DVD, know that he watched the whole thing in real time. He knows that nothing happened between Babe and Bianca, and I will put him on the stand if I have to. We're finished here, Junior.
Babe: Jamie has been nothing but good to me.
Krystal: Just because you messed with Tad in the past and you lost --
David: Whoa! Hey, now, then, there. I never lost to that case of arrested development, all right?
Krystal: Well, just don't trash the Martin men in front of me.
Babe: Or in front of me.
David: Believe me, I don't have to. Both Jamie and Tad are going to self-righteously self-destruct right before your very eyes when they find out the truth about Bess.
Krystal: And how long we knew about it.
Babe: You're right. They'll spit on us, all right.
David: All right, look, if it turns out to be true that Ace is your son and I get to decide who the father is, if my only possible choices are Jamie and J.R., of course I would choose Jamie. At least he wouldn't steal your baby while trying to push you under a moving train.
Babe: But he still may want to fight for the baby.
Krystal: All right, let's not cross any ugly, depressing bridges unless we have to. The fact is Ace has the same birthday as her baby.
David: All right, let's not pin all our hopes on that, ok? A lot of babies were born in this area on that very day.
Babe: Yeah, but how many are connected with Paul Cramer?
Krystal: Exactly. What are the chances that that lying scum's sister had a baby the same day that Babe did?
Babe: Exactly, and the very same Paul Cramer who shows up to rescue me and my child and he's the one that only supposedly saw my baby's incubator go in the river. You're Mr. Science, Mr. Prove-it-to-me. You're telling me it's all a bunch of coincidences, there's no connection at all?
Krystal: You want to bail on us now when we're this close to the truth? Fine. I'll find a way to get the proof that we need.
Jamie: What do you mean, Babe thinks she has a son? Like in a dream?
Bianca: No, no, like gave birth to one.
Jamie: Are you sure that's what you heard?
Bianca: Yes. I don't know. Originally, Babe thought she was going to have a boy, right?
Jamie: She could have meant that.
Bianca: Maybe I heard wrong. I thought I was so sure.
Jamie: Hey, I'm not sure of anything anymore. Babe wants to patch it up with J.R. How screwed up is that?
Bianca: Yeah, well, not because she loves him. At least she made that clear.
Jamie: Then why is she doing it?
Bianca: To buy time -- that's what Babe said.
Jamie: Buy time for what? What is she planning?
Bianca: I don't know. She wouldn't be any more specific. She just said wait and see.
Jamie: I'm tired of waiting.
Bianca: Yeah, I have a feeling that no matter how long we wait nothing that Babe is doing is going to make any sense. What are you doing?
Jamie: Riddle-solving. What happened between the time that Babe left us at the house --
Bianca: And the time that she came back to announce that she was going to give the marriage another try?
Jamie: All I got is she ended up in Llanview and talked to Kevin Buchanan.
Bianca: Dr. Wolek. Today David requested a baby's file, and he used that name -- Dr. Wolek. This guy practices in Llanview. Do you think that Kevin --
Jamie: Is somehow tied to this baby and his records? Did you see the fax?
Bianca: No, I didn't see it, but David received it right before I heard Babe say "He's my son."
Jamie: That's really big.
Bianca: Do you think it is?
Jamie: I think we're very, very close. There's only one way we're going to find it all out.
Tad: Wait a minute. You're not -- you're not really thinking of --
Liza: Why not?
Tad: Well --
Liza: I mean, it makes sense.
Tad: But it's a big step.
Liza: Yeah. I've taken those before.
Tad: Under these circumstances?
Liza: Don't you think it's time for me to honestly and clearly evaluate my life? I mean, where I am and why? What I can and can't have? I mean, think about it. Think about where I could be and what I could have if I just made a few changes.
Tad: Well, I'm on your side. No matter what you do, you got my support.
Liza: Well, look at me -- down but almost invincible.
Tad: You let me know what you need and when you need it.
Liza: You'll be the first person I call.
J.R.: Well, someone's got to know something. A crate that size gets delivered somewhere. Well, find someone, offer them more money -- I don't care. Whatever it takes to get results. And put a tail on Zach Slater. I want a record of everything he says and does. I want to know who he is and what he's after.
Bianca: Well, that was one great big "who cares?"
Jamie: Well, wait a second. This is more like it. Yeah, Kevin Buchanan, son of Victoria Davidson. Hey -- Kevin just became a dad. He's got a son.
Bianca: Like millions of other people, except for Babe who has a daughter -- despite what I thought I heard her say.
Jamie: How does this all tie together?
Bianca: If it ties together.
Jamie: I just wish we had more.
Bianca: Or if Babe would just fill us in.
Jamie: We just need to work harder, and we'll find the answer. We're going to help Babe whether she wants it or not.
Krystal: Would you just keep out of our way, keep your mouth shut? Can you do that for your daughter?
David: Will you calm down?
Krystal: Will you stop torching every hope we have of getting this mess untangled with as few casualties as possible? If you can't do that, fine, bail!
David: I am not bailing on you. I am in this till the end.
Babe: So then how do we prove what I already know in my heart? Ace is my baby.
David: I'm already there.
Krystal: What does that mean?
David: It means I have a way to get it done.
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Greenlee: I want you to walk out of that bed and undress me.
J.R.: I want David Hayward arrested for kidnapping my father.
Krystal: I don't feel so --
Babe: For me? What's inside?
Tad: Anything you want, as long as you tell me your secret.
