All My Children Transcript Tuesday 7/27/04

Zach: You think I came here to kill somebody?
Maria: Ryan Lavery doesn't trust you.
Zach: That's not my problem.
Maria: My husband wants to know why you're really here. Come on, Zach. You told me that I'm not the reason that you're here. So what is it? I mean, and I don't want to hear, "The past is the past and we're not going to tell each other our secrets" bull, ok? I want to know what the truth is and I want to know right now.
Zach: Ok. The truth is I lied to you. I'm here because of you.
Bobby: Go away, Kendall.
Kendall: That phone call sounded desperate. Well, at least on your end. And then I walk in, your neighborhood friendly cash machine. 50s, hundreds, thousands -- you need 'em, I got 'em. Ka-ching! They're yours.
Bobby: But only if I help you slam Lavery by bedding his wife, hmm?
Kendall: Well, you don't get something for nothing, Bobby, not in this big, bad world. But seducing Greenlee will be the sweetest buck you ever made. Just close your eyes and imagine she's Kate Hudson, or anyone with looks and a personality. One night with Mrs. Lavery and all of your money troubles will -- pfft -- disappear.
Brooke: Good to be home, honey?
Jamie: It's good to be anywhere but that stinking jail cell.
Jamie: And look, to my right, the money part of our tour -- the famous sofa where my brother set me up for a drug bust.
Livia: The judge was very fair with the bail hearing.
Brooke: That's a good thing, right?
Livia: Jamie's exemplary school record, and he's not a flight risk -- all of that worked in his favor.
Tad: In other words, we win the first round.
Livia: Well, Tad, these are just the preliminaries. The trial is the main event. There's no time like now to get started on the strategy. James, if you want to get a quick shower, we'll put some food together, and we'll start stepping up your defense.
Jamie: No, forget me. We got to go after J.R. before he gets another chance to hurt Babe.
J.R.: You want another baby?
Babe: Yes. I checked my dates. I am your fertility goddess.
J.R.: But, honey, we already have Bess.
Babe: Yes, and she's the biggest blessing in our lives.
J.R.: She's my whole world right now -- our whole world.
Babe: Honey, multiply that blessing by two. We could totally have room for one more. There's no reason not to. I'm young and I'm healthy, and you told me to name whatever would make me happiest, and I am naming it. I want another baby. J.R., please tell me that you want the same thing.
Livia: James, my job is to build a strong sense of reasonable doubt in the mind of the jury. I do that by building a strong defense on your behalf, not making a case against someone else.
Jamie: Even if that someone else set me up, made it look like I drugged Babe when he's the one who did?
Livia: J.R.'s not on trial, you are.
Brooke: Well, when Kendall was charged with murder, I mean, you whipped up a storm of reasonable doubt by calling multiple witnesses.
Jamie: Yeah, Hayward, Adam, Jackson. They all had the means and the motive to kill Michael Cambias. You worked all that.
Brooke: So why couldn't you do the same for Jamie, I mean, focus on J.R. and his motives? I'm sorry, Tad, I -- you know, I know this is hard. They're both your sons.
Jamie: Believe me, Dad, I'm hating this as much as you are.
Tad: I do believe you. I also think you're innocent. Which means we've got a whole other problem, because if J.R. takes a page from Adam's handbook, he's not going to let up. The only way we're going to prove Jamie's innocent is to go after his brother.
Livia: Very well. If that's the way you want to proceed, then I suggest that you find another attorney.
Brooke: Livia, why are you fighting this? I mean, why wouldn't you use any means at your disposal to defend my son?
Tad: Because you know something. You know something ugly about J.R.
J.R.: How can I say no to you?
Babe: You mean it?
J.R.: Well, if you want to have another baby, let's go for it.
Babe: Oh, J.R., you are the best! The absolute best! I'm going to flush my birth-control right down the toilet and I'll start packing in the prenatal vitamins just to be ready.
J.R.: Well, I'd better start working out, too. I hear the two-kid relay's a killer.
Babe: Maybe this time we'll have a little boy. There's nothing more that I'd like than to put a son in your arms. But no matter what we have -- a boy or a girl -- I just -- I have this feeling in my heart that -- I don't know, that this baby's going to make our family complete.
Krystal: Hey, Babe. Why don't you grab your suit and let's take a dip.
Babe: Mama, J.R. and I are going to have another baby!
Krystal: Oh! You're pregnant?
Adam: You're what?
Babe: Adam, you're going to be a grandpa again!
J.R.: No, no, Dad, see, Babe is not pregnant yet.
Babe: Oh, but we're going to get to working on it, aren't we?
J.R.: Um, you know what? Krystal, Babe, I hate to spoil a perfect moment like this, but Dad and I have a joint venture that we've been working on.
Babe: And you want us out of your hair. I know, I know. Get over here. You are the best! Oh! Ok, let's go.
Adam: Are you out of your mind? Are you actually saying you want to have another child with that tramp?
J.R.: Not if my life depended on it.
Babe: Mama, is J.R. not the best husband ever?
Krystal: Well, he does seem to want to make you happy.
Babe: Oh, you know, I always knew that he wanted to have a big family, but I wasn't quite sure if he'd want to have one so soon after Bess.
Krystal: Honey, I -- I don't want to burst your dream bubble or anything, but I just -- I can't help wondering if maybe you're just trying to prove something here.
Babe: Like what?
Krystal: Like Jamie's wrong about J.R.
Babe: Mama, this baby has absolutely nothing to do with proving Jamie wrong. Jamie can talk all the trash that he wants. You know why? Because I know that J.R. loves me. And I've never doubted him and I never will.
Krystal: Well, that's good to hear, honey. That's real good to hear.
Babe: You know, our love, it just keeps taking all these hits and it just keeps getting stronger. And that's what made me decide. I just thought if I had another baby to give J.R. that it won't hurt so much when Bess is taken away.
Krystal: Oh, Babe. Honey, you're going to tell J.R. that Bess isn't his?
Bobby: Forget it, Kendall. My wife's giving my marriage another chance. There's no way I'm going to risk that by cheating on her.
Kendall: Does your wife know you need 200 grand by tonight?
Bobby: Drop it.
Kendall: I didn't think so. Well, she doesn't have to find out. You play this my way and you can have all the cash you need to pay off your debt and some extra change to take her on a Mediterranean cruise, romantic second honeymoon.
Bobby: Ah, moonlight on the Aegean, wife in my arms -- and the grand prize can all be mine, but only if I bed Greenlee, hmm?
Kendall: Yeah, a quick shake in the sheets and you can have the biggest payday of your career.
Bobby: Have you tried the phone book under "paid escorts"?
Kendall: Would you cool it with the offended act, ok? It's not like you haven't cheated on Anita before. And really, where else are you going to get the cash from?
Bobby: I have other resources.
Kendall: Really? Who, Palmer? I mean, do you really see him throwing more money at his screwup grandson? And Edmund, I mean, he won't cough up a dime for his almost-divorced brother-in-law. And really, honestly, think about it -- when it comes down to it, I mean, how bad can taking a tumble with Greenlee be? Stifling my personal gag reflex, I can tell you think she's hot, and she bounces the heat right back, whether she owns it or not.
Bobby: God. Are you for real, Kendall? I mean, you really think that Greenlee is just going to lie under the sheets, waiting for me?
Kendall: Well, maybe she is. Who knows.
Bobby: You don't give her near enough credit. I mean, I've seen her with Ryan -- total happy wife vibe. I mean, even if I made all my right moves, there's no way that girl's getting in bed with me.
Kendall: I'm sure you'll rise to the occasion. That's why I'm willing to pay you the big bucks.
Bobby: Wow, and you said I sounded desperate. Listen to you, huh? Next thing you know, you'll be down on your knees begging, hmm?
Kendall: No. Not me, not me. No, I have time on my side. What about you? How long before some no-neck goon puts the squeeze on you for his moolah? So you can either play this my way or the hard way. What's it going to be, Bobby? Some harmless sex or two shattered kneecaps?
Bobby: Now I get why Erica was so desperate to get away from you.
Maria: When I told you that what we had was over, you agreed to accept that, so what are you -- are you saying that that was a lie, too? I mean, what is this? Are you trying to end my marriage?
Zach: The only one with the power to do that is you.
Maria: I won't. Not for you, not for anyone.
Zach: I realize that.
Maria: Ok, so then why? I mean, if I am the reason that you're here, then what? I don't understand. What do you want from me, Zach?
Zach: I'm not sure. My last image of you was on the tarmac before you boarded the plane. But it didn't end for me there the way it did for you. When I saw your picture in the Pine Valley newspaper, I felt so many things. I just wanted to see you again.
Maria: You've seen me. So you can go now, right?
Zach: Well, that was the plan. I thought I'd see you again and say goodbye to you. I was wrong. It just didn't work out that way. One look at you, and five years of not seeing you just went away. I never got over you. And if I leave now, I don't think I ever will.
Maria: You got to help me out here, Zach, because I don't know how sticking around is going to help you get over me. How?
Zach: I signed on for the fundraiser because I knew you were on the board.
Maria: And you wanted to spy on me.
Maria: Yeah, and try to wear me down.
Maria: Make me love you again?
Maria: Then why? Why are you still here?
Zach: Because I wanted to see with my own eyes that you made a life without me.
Maria: I did. I have a husband and kids that I adore. I've got -- I'm a doctor again. I mean, that's what I do. I help people, and my life has purpose. It's very full.
Zach: Yeah, everything you lost you found again.
Zach: This is home. No, it's -- now all I need to do is make it real in my mind. You know? Just block the memory of Maureen on my pillow smiling up at me. It's sad, but I'm going to have to do that to -- to stop myself from loving this woman and from wanting her back. So if I see you in your new life with your husband and your children, perfect and complete -- if I see that, then -- then maybe I can stop missing the woman that you were with me.
Maria: But that woman doesn't exist anymore, Zach.
Zach: I know, I know.
Maria: She doesn't.
Zach: Every time I see you with Edmund, it sinks in more. The heart that I loved belongs to someone else now. But by the time this project is over, I'll be able to let you go and we'll be able to say goodbye for good.
Anita: Maria, you won't believe what -- thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! You saved my life!
J.R.: I tell Babe that she can have anything her greedy heart desires, she comes back and asks for another baby.
Adam: But you agreed.
J.R.: Diversionary tactic. Babe lasers in on project pregnancy, I keep her in a fool's paradise and make her think that I'm madly in love with her, she doesn't suspect that I'm the one who drugged her.
Adam: And that gets us one step closer to custody of Bess.
J.R.: My daughter's the reason why I wake up every morning and put a smile on my face and make Babe think that I can stand being her husband.
Adam: But there are limits, J.R.
J.R.: I know mine. I'm not going to make another baby with that cheating trash. It's bad enough I had to marry her again to formalize Bess' paternity. You know, knowing how Babe strays, I would've had to order another DNA test to make sure the next baby's mine.
Adam: All right, so you go to bed and Babe slips in beside you. Just how long do you think you're going to be able to fight off this baby-maker?
J.R.: I'll keep Babe from getting what she wants while I get what I want. Don't worry. I'll take care of her the same way I took care of Jamie.
Jamie: You've got something on J.R. If you know he's dirty, you got to give him up.
Livia: What I have to do is build a strong defense for your trial.
Jamie: But if my brother's guilty of something --
Livia: I am representing you, Jamie, I am not representing J.R., and I will do it my way or I will not do it at all, and that is your call.
Jamie: I definitely want you on my case.
Brooke: So do I because I know you'll fight for my son and you'll get him cleared.
Tad: It's unanimous.
Livia: Well, I appreciate that vote of confidence. I will defend Jamie like I was defending one of my own sons. So why don't we wait till tomorrow to get started on strategy. It's going to be a very long day, so why don't you take the rest of the night and just rest and put everything out of your mind.
Jamie: That should be easy.
Livia: Look, let me do the worrying for you. Brooke and Tad, I will be in touch.
Tad: Thank you.
Brooke: We'll see you tomorrow.
Brooke: Jamie, are you hungry?
Tad: We could order out for cheeseburgers, if you like.
Jamie: I got to do something.
Tad: No, you don't. I know where you think you're going, and you're dead wrong.
Krystal: Babe, you don't need to do this. Honey, David swore that he wasn't going to spill our little secret, and I believe him.
Babe: So do I. I'm not going to tell J.R. that Bess is Miranda just because somebody else might.
Krystal: Well, honey, please tell me what has come over you.
Babe: Every morning, I -- I wake up and the first thing that I do is I go into the nursery and I hold Bess. Then I think about Bianca. And she wakes up and she has nobody to hold -- because of me, because I'm holding on to a lie.
Krystal: Honey -- honey, in your heart, you thought that that lie had a silver lining.
Babe: I know. I know, I did at first. I thought there were reasons to pretend that Bess was really ours. But now, I -- it's just getting so hard, Mama. Every time I see Bianca, it's killing me. I can hardly even live with myself. And I was sitting there at that groundbreaking just looking up at my best friend just pouring her heart out about the baby that she lost. Mama, it took every single bit inside of me not to just run up there and hand Bess over to Bianca right there in front of everybody.
Krystal: Oh, honey. What kept you from doing it?
Babe: The same thing that always does -- not having the heart to break J.R.'s. God, Mama. He loves that little girl with every single thing that's in his body. It's going to kill him when he has to give her up. So I just -- I thought that -- that maybe having another little baby to spoil and to love would just help smooth over all the hurt from losing Bess and our little boy. And I'm not saying that -- that any baby could ever make up for Bess or him. But I just thought that maybe -- maybe another little baby could help -- help J.R. get through all the heartache. I don't know.
Krystal: Oh, honey.
Jamie: Dad, I'm worried about Babe, what J.R.'s going to do next.
Tad: Yeah, well, the police are worried about what you're going to do next because they think you're stalking her. They think you were willing to buy a date-rape drug and put it in her cocktail because you wanted to get her into bed.
Jamie: That's all lies.
Tad: It doesn't matter. My point is the police are watching you, ok? And if I know Adam, at this point he's got some, you know, private militia touring his grounds waiting to take a shot at you if you so much as try to get near Babe.
Jamie: Well, what am I supposed to do, Dad, just sit around and wait while J.R. makes his next move to get rid of her?
Tad: Yes. I am sorry, Jamie, as cold as it sounds, that's exactly what you've got to do.
Jamie: That's not good enough. Babe deserves better.
Brooke: Jamie, I know you're a grown man, you know, you're not a little kid who used to run to us to fix things, but this time you have to let your parents help.
Jamie: I'm sorry, Mom, but stuffing me with chili cheeseburgers won't help.
Brooke: Aha! By day, I'm your meddlesome mother. By night, I am Brooke English, investigative reporter and all-around sneaky person.
Tad: You should believe it. She's got the cape and tights to prove it.
Jamie: Come on. Do you really think you're going to have any more luck than me getting J.R. to open up?
Brooke: All it takes is a little imagination and a nine-volt battery.
J.R.: That drug I gave Babe at SOS that night is not the only drug I can give her on the sly. Birth-control pills are 99% effective for unwanted pregnancies. And if I have to get those pills and grind them up myself and put them in her orange juice every morning, I'll do it. Babe's not going to get pregnant by me again. I don't care how hard she tries.
Jamie: Not bad, Mom.
Tad: Not bad? You just be thankful she's using those maternal instincts for good and not evil.
Brooke: You think I'm going to let J.R. wreck your life when he's the guilty one?
Tad: Just don't get too cocky, all right? Even if you do get something on tape, it's not admissible in court.
Brooke: I know that. But there's no reason that the contents of that tape can't end up in the next issue of "Tempo," taking the fight to the court of pubic opinion.
Tad: And when Adam sues you for libel?
Brooke: Oh, let him sic his power suits on me. Listen, I've got the tape as backup.
Tad: Well, let's just pray he doesn't find the recorder first.
Brooke: Which is why I'm going to drop by on the old boy and make sure that Winifred hasn't found my plant dusting the books that no one ever reads.
Jamie: See if you can find out how Babe is.
Tad: Listen, I'll go with her and I'll talk to Babe myself. I just want to make sure you don't go anywhere. And if you do, don't go anywhere near the Chandlers', please?
Jamie: Hey, look, I'm going to take a shower, then bed, in that order. Just find out if Babe's ok.
Tad: All right. Come on, let's do it.
Tad: Let's do it.
Brooke: I don't need a bodyguard to go check up on Adam. I can handle him myself.
Tad: The last time you said that, you ended up in his bed.
Brooke: Well, he did hold on tight when I sort of fell into his arms.
Tad: More information than I need. Come on, I'm your bodyguard. Let's go.
Brooke: Oh, my body feels so much safer.
Tad: Yeah? What you doing after?
Zach: Pay it back by the end of the day or you will lose more than just your job.
Palmer: Well, well, just the man I wanted to see. Oh, come on, Bobby. You know, I realize that over the years, I've come down on you pretty hard.
Bobby: Yeah, yeah, you could say that.
Palmer: Yes, well, I suppose I could say that I'm sorry, but -- say, come on, bring your drink. Sit down here with me a minute, have a little talk. Now, see here, Bobby, between you paying back that loan I made to you and then this -- this wildcat investment that's about to pay off, well, it seems to me that you have finally become the man that I really hoped you would be.
Bobby: Huh. But you never really did hold out much hope for me, did you, Grandpa? Come on, I was always the mistake that you're no-good son-in-law made when he cheated on your daughter with Sybil Thorne, huh?
Palmer: Yes, but, Bobby, haven't I always done my very best to make you feel one of the family?
Bobby: You did that for Nina because she did her best to make me feel like her son.
Palmer: But you are her son. I'm your grandfather, and I couldn't be more proud of the way you stepped up to take responsibility for your life.
Kendall: Whoa, Palmer. I think you've got the wrong guy.
Anita: No secret Bobby's let me down before, but I've let him down, too. You know, I pushed too hard, I expected too much. It took two of us to get it wrong. Now I have this whole new take on our marriage, and this time it's going to work.
Maria: Ok, I'm just -- you know, you were pretty sure before.
Anita: Because I was scared, scared to take a chance on our future because God forbid I get hurt. But now I know -- if I lose, I lose. What matters is I play the game. Right, Mr. Slater? I mean, Zach.
Zach: You can play the game and still find a way to protect yourself.
Anita: That would be hedging my bet, and I won't do that to myself or Bobby. I'm going to just take a chance and gamble everything I have on my marriage and my man. Don't worry if I don't come home tonight.
Anita: Or any night in the near future! Bye.
Zach and Maria: Bye.
Maria: What did you do to my sister?
Zach: What? She loves him. And no matter what Bobby did to her, some people just aren't ready to give up.
Maria: I don't want to go back to that time, Zach.
Zach: And I shouldn't ask you to. And this is not -- I'm wrong. See, it's selfish of me to think that if I saw you more often, I could work you out of my system. I shouldn't force you to go back to a time that you left so many years ago. Right? I'll hand the project over to Bobby and I'll stay out of it as much as possible.
Maria: Wait, wait, wait. I mean, you didn't answer my question. Did you come here to kill someone?
Kendall: Now, correct me if I'm wrong, Palmer, but isn't this your grandson Bobby Warner?
Kendall: The same Bobby that you used to rag on for lousing up his life every chance he got? I think it's the only time I heard you use the word "wastrel."
Palmer: Well, I -- yes, well, I suppose I did use that term with regard to Bobby. But I am happy to say that I misjudged him.
Kendall: Really? Really? And you're usually such a good judge of character.
Bobby: How did you two get to be so close, huh?
Palmer: Oh, Kendall, Kendall, she helps to keep me young. Come on, sit down. Here you go.
Palmer: We will drink a toast to Bobby's bright future.
Kendall: Oh, well, I will drink to that.
Palmer: Tommy, your best single malt, three glasses, and a lot of ice.
Kendall: So, Bob-o, your ship finally came in, huh? You struck the mother lode? Lady luck is just flashing her pearly whites your way, huh?
Palmer: Oh, no, no, it wasn't just good luck. This young man has finally learned the value of a dollar.
Zach: Pay it back by the end of the day or you will lose more than just your job.
Kendall: Wow, that's a valuable lesson to learn, Bob-o.
Palmer: Now, cutting deals with Puggy Moore -- I mean, that's no small accomplishment, and I only hope that, well, your next venture, you'll cut your grandfather in.
Kendall: Well, it sounds like Palmer wants to believe in you, Bobby. It'd be a hell of a shame to let him down.
Palmer: Oh, here we go, here we go.
Kendall: Thank you.
Palmer: Well, thank you. Now, here's -- here's to Bobby and his very bright future.
Anita: I hope you're including me in that future.
Palmer: Oh. Well, looks like you've learned more than the value of a dollar.
Kendall: Why don't we all drink to the happy couple?
Palmer: Have you two met?
Kendall: Yes, actually, years ago. And she was so wonderful with Bianca in the hospital. Well, I bet you're wondering how I know your husband. Well, it's through my mother, Erica Kane.
Babe: How could I even let Winnie fold these? Mama, what am I? I -- I feel like I'm just, like, some big coward. Because when the time comes to give Bess back, I don't think I can face J.R. empty-handed. It's just going to absolutely kill him to lose her, just like it's going to kill me. I mean, I know that she's not really mine, but I couldn't love her one single speck more if she were. It's going to be like losing my own baby boy all over again.
Krystal: I'm going to help you through this. Honey, I'm going to help you through every step of the way.
Babe: No, J.R. and I, we'll -- we'll be fine. We have to be. And when the time is right, I can take him out to that -- that little chapel that's in the woods and I'll show him the beautiful stained glass window, the one that I had dedicated to our angel boy. And we can cry for him together as we wait for our little boy or our little girl to be born. And God willing, that new life, maybe it'll -- maybe it'll help J.R. get through missing Bess.
J.R.: Babe, why would I ever miss Bess?
Babe: I don't know about you, but I miss Bess so much already.
J.R.: Babe, why would you miss Bess? She's right upstairs.
Babe: I know, I just -- I was just thinking about how long it's been and how much she's changed since we first brought her home. Before we know it, she's just going to be all grown up and -- and walking and talking and she's not going to be our baby Bess anymore. And I just hope that maybe that another little one, you know, will help Mama and Daddy get through all the growing pains. You know, hopefully I'll be able to get pregnant as easily as I did the first time.
Krystal: Well, there's no reason why you shouldn't, honey.
J.R.: Babe, there's no rush, though, right? We're young and healthy. We've got all the time in the world. Right?
Brooke: You're making a fool of yourself.
Tad: For God's sake, if you gave half a damn, you'd help.
Brooke: I know it's hard for you to accept. It is for me, too!
Tad: Enough is enough. You and I are going to have it out!
Adam: Martin, what the devil are you doing in my house? Get out.
Brooke: Oh, Adam, I am so sorry.
Tad: Stop it! Don't apologize to him! What are you doing? He's the reason J.R.'s so screwed up in the first place!
Babe: You take that back right now!
Tad: I wish I could. I wish I could take back everything, especially his parental privileges. J.R. never stood a chance with him as a role model.
Adam: Has he been drinking?
Tad: No. I spent my day trying to bail Jamie out of jail.
Adam: Well, then the role model is on the other foot, isn't it?
Brooke: Adam, I tried to talk Tad out of coming here. He still believes that Jamie is innocent.
Tad: He is innocent.
J.R.: We did this already, Dad -- brother James above suspicion. But not me, right?
Tad: J.R., I'm really sorry to say that getting through to you may be a lost cause. And you, Adam? I wouldn't waste my breath. But you? Babe, there's a small chance I can still get through to you, and all I'm asking you to do is just listen to what I have to say.
Zach: After all that, you think I'm here to kill somebody?
Maria: No. But my husband's got a Pulitzer nose for a story.
Zach: And he thinks I'm a hit man?
Maria: Well, you happened to come here the same day that he intercepted a phone call where he thought he heard somebody plotting a murder.
Zach: No, I'm from Vegas, I got a casino. I've got to be the assassin. Who else?
Maria: You know what, I don't even know if you're the killer. I don't know. All I know about you is --
Zach: What you know is that we had 24 perfect weeks! Did you pass that on to your husband?
Maria: No, I didn't. He doesn't know about us.
Zach: What, never came up?
Maria: No, I came -- I came back here to Pine Valley with no memory of who I was before I left. I put Edmund through hell and, thank God, he stuck it out. He stuck it out and we've been through so much, and we finally, finally found our way back to each other and back to our life, and our love just picked up right where we left off. And that -- I didn't want to ruin it by telling him about us. That wouldn't have been fair or right. But you know what? I've completely protected him for nothing if his search for a killer leads him right back to us and our past.
Zach: It won't.
Maria: Thank you.
Zach: All right. I'll hand the proposal for the fundraiser off to Bobby and you can deal with him.
Maria: No, no, no. I don't -- I don't want Bobby.
Anita: So, since you're celebrating, I guess Bobby told you about his big investment paying off?
Palmer: Oh, yes, he did, and I must say I'm very impressed. Now, Bobby -- he's come through for all of us this time.
Kendall: Our hero.
Zach: Pay it back by the end of the day or you will lose more than just your job.
Anita: The concierge said our room's ready.
Palmer: Oh, good, good. I'll have some champagne sent up. And, Bobby, I'm serious about your next venture, hmm? I mean, you wouldn't leave your old granddad out in the cold, would you? Good night, lovers.
Anita: Night. Shall we?
Bobby: Oh, I'm -- I'm just going to settle up the tab here, ok? I'll be right up.
Anita: Goodbye, Kendall.
Kendall: Goodbye. Well, guess it's time for me to tootle off, too. Something I can do for you? Look, if you're teed off at me for mentioning Erica to your wife, I'm sorry, that's not my problem.
Bobby: 200 grand. Leave it at the front desk tonight.
Kendall: Whoa. That is some turnaround. Ok, well, then maybe we should review the terms of our agreement.
Bobby: Do we have a deal or not?
Kendall: You get your money after you sleep with Greenlee.
Bobby: 200 thou, tonight. Take it or leave it.
Kendall: I'll take it. You take Greenlee.
Maria: Bobby's going to be working on putting his marriage back together, he's working with you. You know, you're going to throw this fundraiser on him? That's just too many balls to juggle.
Zach: You got a point.
Maria: Yeah, and I -- you know, I'd like to work with you.
Maria: Yeah. I -- you know, I lied, too, and -- and the truth is -- the truth is I never got over you, either.
J.R.: You just never give up, do you, Tad?
Tad: You know the answer to that.
Krystal: Tad, I know you're all worked up about Jamie's arrest, but that doesn't mean you can come charging in here making trouble for J.R. and Babe.
Adam: He can't help himself. It's in the Martin blood to blame a Chandler for all their mistakes.
Babe: If you've come here to badmouth my husband, I don't want to hear it. I love J.R. and he loves me, and I'm not going to let anyone else tell me otherwise.
J.R.: Babe, why don't you go upstairs and lay down, hmm?
Babe: I will, as soon as I put Bess down for her nap.
J.R.: All right. Do you want to leave on your own? Or do you want to end up like Jamie did, in a jail cell?
Brooke: Yes! Looks like I got a bite.
Babe: Brooke. What are you doing here?
Brooke: Jamie didn't drug you, Babe, and this could be the proof. Do you want to hear it?
>> On the next "All My Children" --
Maria: Promise me that you're not going to try to bring the past back to life.
Jamie: I'm going to crack J.R.'s game without you dragging me down. Get out of my face and stay away from Babe.
Brooke: Marriage to Adam was an education. Let's rewind the tape and hear his latest trick.
