Aidan: Did you bring David in yet?

Anna: Not yet.

Aidan: You just saw him at Michaelís condo destroying evidence.

Anna: I have no reason to believe that bottle of scotch was evidence.

Aidan: Right, so your boyfriend was just there to water the plants, tidy up?

Anna: You have proof otherwise?

Aidan: I didn't want to bring it out when David was here. He's only probably going to lie about it or set it on fire.

Anna: What exactly is this?

Aidan: Check it out.

Anna: Well, it looks like a datebook.

Aidan: Look on the front.

Anna: "EK".

Aidan: Erica Kane.

Anna: Oh.

Aidan: I picked it up at Michaelís condo. Open it to the marker.

Anna: You think that Erica left it there?

Aidan: The night old Mikey disappeared.

Anna: Meaning that you don't think he left town?

Aidan: Maybe in the trunk of someone's car. Maybe Davidís car. That guy is definitely covering up something, Anna.

David: Anna? Are you home? Anna? Erica, it's me. Aidan and Anna found me at Michael Cambias'. No, no, I didn't see it. So just be prepared. Things are not going as planned. No, no, you listen to me. If it hits the fan, you say nothing. You know nothing. Do you understand me? They're going to come after me, and I can take care of it. You just take care of Bianca. And you remember, she's why we did this.

Maggie: Oh, you know, I am so full I can barely walk.

Bianca: Oh, my goodness. These are the flowers that the guard said --

Maggie: Oh, my goodness. They are beautiful. Who are they from?

Maggie: Is someone kissing up to your mom again?

Tad: Is this what it's come to? Selling makeup from door to door? You poor thing. By all means, give me a pint of your best avocado mask.

Liza: You know what? I'll tell you. I'll laugh while you pack.

Tad: Pack? Why? What am I supposed to be packing for?

Liza: You're the one who said you wanted to get on a plane and go to Tahiti. So good news -- our plane is waiting.

Greenlee: You lied. Jackson didn't really know that I was his daughter.

Mary: No, he didnít.

Greenlee: Why? Why did you lie to me?

Mary: Darling, Iíll call you from Milan, and -- and we'll talk all about it.

Greenlee: Answer me!

Mary: I was about to be alone and penniless.

Greenlee: Is there anything you won't do for money?

Mary: You're acting as though greed is my only motivation.

Greenlee: Gee, I wonder why.

Mary: I couldn't let you cut me out of your life, Greenlee.

Greenlee: And your solution was turning me against my father?

Mary: Darling, I -- I don't have time to make you understand right now.

Greenlee: No, you don't, but try.

Mary: I don't see what's so terrible about --

Juan Pablo: Cut the engines.

[Jet engines power down]

Juan Pablo: We're not going anywhere.

Mary: We're not as dysfunctional as we seem. It's just a tiny misunderstanding.

Greenlee: Yeah, tiny, tiny. Insignificant.

Mary: I -- Iíll explain it all to you when we get in the air, and then you can help me try to -- to make her understand.

Juan Pablo: We're not taking off, Mary, not to Milan or Argentina.

Mary: What about the ranch?

Juan Pablo: The deed is not real. Nothing I said was real.

Mary: Nothing? What -- what is all this?

Greenlee: A test, and you failed.

Liza: Would you hurry and pack? It's 80 degrees and it's beautiful in Tahiti.

Tad: Yeah, that's nice. Listen, before I start killing myself looking around the house for the sunscreen and my sunglasses, why don't you just, you know, give me the punchline now?

Liza: Look, I need a change. Mother and Mia are watching Colby. I'm free. So what about you? Are you all talk, or you got some action left in you?

Tad: I could probably dredge some up --

Liza: Hmm.

Tad: If you were serious and this were remotely possible.

Liza: It's possible! Look, I have possible right here! Pack up or shut up! You're the one who said you wanted to get out of town before this mess, formerly known as Michael Cambias, hit the fan. Well, it's hitting! So are you coming or not?

Anna: Well, I love a good whodunit as much as the next person, but we have no evidence to say that Michael was done in.

Aidan: Try telling him. Of course, you'll have to dig him up and stitch him together first.

Anna: A very wealthy man. If he wanted to disappear, what makes you think he couldn't do it?

Aidan: It's too contrived. It's too pat.

Anna: In addition to rape, he's wanted on a variety of business-related charges. He wouldn't be the first person to fake his own disappearance.

Aidan: No, you see, retreat -- it's just not Mikey's style.

Anna: Maybe he's never been under so much pressure before.

Aidan: Oh, pressure, come on. The cocky bastard likes to buy his way out of everything. He's not on the run. He's dead.

Anna: Ok, where's the body? The murder weapon? This is all academic, Aidan.

Aidan: And Ericaís datebook?

Anna: All right. Did Erica beat Michael to death with her datebook before or after he went to Las Vegas with Kendall?

Aidan: This is not your job, to work against me, is it?

Anna: No. I am just saying that if he was a victim of foul play, when did it occur?

Aidan: I don't know, but Kendall came back from Vegas alone.

Anna: Dead men don't talk. They also don't say "I do" much, either.

Aidan: If Erica was involved in the disappearing of Cambias, maybe Kendallís trying to protect her.

Anna: And the best thing that she could come up with is letting the world know that she married her sister's rapist?

Aidan: All right. Well, I haven't worked that bit out yet, but I will.

Anna: And Pine Valley will rest so easy when you bring these people to justice.

Aidan: If Michael Cambias is dead, there aren't many people in Pine Valley that want to see his murderer punished after what he did to Bianca.

Maggie: Do you want me to leave? I can go and --

Bianca: No, no. I mean, do I look different? Can you tell?

Maggie: No. Maybe you look a little bit older. That's it.

Bianca: Maybe a little more scared, a little more worried?

Maggie: Look, you're not ready for this.

Bianca: No --

Maggie: You don't --

Bianca: I -- I don't think there's ever going to be a right time for this.

Maggie: Well, you don't know that.

Bianca: I know that I don't want to hurt her anymore.

Maggie: You have to stop worrying about everyone else, ok? Look, I will go tell her that you've changed your mind and --

Bianca: No. I hate doing this to her. I hate all of this.

Maggie: I know.

Bianca: Sometimes I don't even feel like myself anymore.

Maggie: I -- I wish there was something that I could do just to help. I --

Bianca: Me, too.

[Doorbell rings]

Bianca: Oh, God, she's here.

Maggie: I'll go hang out in the bedroom. Should I just stay --

Bianca: Yeah, thank you.

Maggie: Ok.

Tad: You're absolutely right. I can always buy a toothbrush on the way to the airport.

Liza: What about clothes?

Tad: I'm going native.

Liza: Tahitians aren't nudists.

Tad: I'm not Tahitian. You can always knit me a thong on the plane.

Liza: So you're serious? You're coming?

Tad: I am dead serious. I wasn't stalling, Liza. I was just stunned. I never in a million years expected you to take me up on my offer.

Liza: Well, that, you know -- that's me. I've always been a risk taker my entire life.

[Tad chuckles]

Tad: Yeah, sure, sure, whatever you say. In business, you've been known to take a gamble, not when it's personal.

Liza: Oh, no, come on! Three times I married Adam Chandler! Three times. That's not gambling?

Tad: No. That's suicide. Look, when I said what I said, I wasn't trying to cut you down, I wasn't trying to insult you. It's perfectly natural, you know, after a certain point in your life, you start to get into a rut.

Liza: Yeah, well, you know what? I'm not in a rut anymore. I'm free. I can do anything I want.

Tad: Anything?

Liza: Yeah, try me.

Tad: I just might have to. Answer one question. This, you know, this big risk you're taking, this moving and grooving, just jetting all over the world -- is this about the trip, or is this about you and me?

Liza: Well, I mean, it would have to be you and me, because I included you.

Tad: And so we're not going to be sleeping in separate hammocks, we're going to be sharing a double?

Liza: You know what? I'm not making any plans. That's the old Liza. The new Liza doesn't like reservations, schedules. I'm spontaneous!

Tad: And I'm supposed to hurry up and pack, because you wanted me to just experience the mad adventure of luggage, right?

Liza: No. I want you to have what you need. Everybody has necessities.

Tad: Now you're talking. That we'll have to discuss on the way to the airport.

Liza: Look, you know what? This vacation for me is -- I'm not going to continue to ignore the things that I've been ignoring. No hesitations, no regrets, no holding back.

Tad: Just seize the diem with reckless abandon, right?

Liza: You seize everything with abandon.

Tad: Why are we going to Tahiti? I mean, we could just start grabbing stuff right here.

Greenlee: Juan Pablo, can I have a few minutes alone with her, please?

Juan Pablo: As you like.

Mary: What's the matter? Don't you want your partner in crime to -- to help you gloat? Go ahead, rub it in my face. Come on. Do it. You won.

Greenlee: No, I didn't win. The truth, maybe -- you don't love me.

Mary: That's not fair, and that's not true. I believed that this man was offering me love as well as financial independence. That did not preclude my having a relationship with you.

Greenlee: In your mind, I guess not.

Mary: Well, I've checked out of the Valley Inn. I don't have anywhere to go. Can't we just start over and forgive each other and move ahead?

Greenlee: Despite everything, I loved you. I even almost let you rob me of a chance to have a father.

Mary: It wasn't going to happen --

Greenlee: You kept his identity from me. You told me a lie to try to -- try to make me hate him!

Mary: Well, I've told you the truth just now, ok?

Greenlee: It's too late.

Mary: Greenlee, wait. I'm your mother. I'm fallible, but I'm still your mother.

Greenlee: Goodbye --

Mary: Don't --

Greenlee: Mother.

Mary: I just need something.

Greenlee: Money?

Mary: Just a stipend.

Greenlee: Goodbye.

Mary: Greenlee, you and Daddy can't take everything away from me! It's inhuman!

Greenlee: Well, grandfather might relent. I wonít.

Anna: Well, I'm glad you realize that if Michael Cambias is dead and you bring his killer to justice, no one's going to throw you a party.

Aidan: No, I think there would be a hell of a bash to celebrate Michaelís death. But I will get run out of town, with the D.A. leading the pack.

Anna: Excuse me?

Aidan: I gave Jack the first look at this, and he went ballistic.

Anna: Yeah, well, Jack and Erica are very close.

Aidan: His conflict of interest is not my problem, though.

Anna: Any more than mine is?

Aidan: If a crime has been committed, it's your job and the district attorney's job to catch the perp, isn't it?

Anna: You think Jackson and I should recuse ourselves?

Aidan: Don't you?

Jack: No, I'm just -- just working the case.

Anna: Oh, yeah? What case? Hmm? Michael Cambias?

Aidan: Jack couldn't think of a good reason why Erica would go and visit Michael the day of the pretrial hearing.

Anna: Maybe she didn't.

Aidan: So you think someone just planted the datebook there?

Anna: Well, I think why or how that ended up in Michaelís apartment isn't really important, unless --

Aidan: Unless you are convinced that a murder has been committed.

Anna: Correct.

Aidan: Right. You see, at first I thought Erica had planted the drugs at Michaelís condo; but since I saw David there, I think it's a lot bigger than your drugs.

Anna: Oh, you are coming to such amazing conclusions with no facts to back them up.

Aidan: Have you noticed just how close Erica and David have been lately?

Erica: Come on. I mean, she's got to stop this, David. She will ruin everything.

[Door opens]

Anna: Oh -- ahem. Don't let me interrupt.

Erica: Of course not. You're not interrupting anything, Anna. I was actually just leaving.

Aidan: They're practically joined at the hip.

Anna: Yeah, well -- David is helping Erica and Bianca cope with this trauma.

Aidan: Right, but you ever wonder how much David is helping Erica?

Anna: You know what? I am getting really tired of this.

Aidan: Oh, really? How far would David go to make sure that Erica and Bianca are safe from Michael Cambias?

Anna: Stop it!

Aidan: I'm sorry. I know you love him. But David is going to ruin your career and your life, and he's going to bring you down with him, Anna.

Anna: That's ok. You've just helped me make a very important decision.

Aidan: I'm sorry. I don't mean to make things worse for you.

Anna: No, no. You want truth and justice, and you really shouldn't apologize for that.

Aidan: So you're going to bring him in?

Anna: Hmm. Yeah. I know how to handle David. Don't worry.

Aidan: Ok, well, I've got a lot of things to take care of. Why don't you give me a call when -- well, just give me a call a little bit later, ok?

Anna: Mm-hmm.

[Door opens and closes]

Ofc. Lyman: Chief -- sorry. We still don't have a thing on Cambias. Should we step it up?

Anna: I wouldn't. Whoever helped Cambias disappear did a damn fine job.

Lena: Thank you for seeing me.

Bianca: Lena, the flowers are beautiful.

Lena: Everything beautiful reminds me of you. I'm sorry. It's probably the wrong thing to say.

Bianca: Hey, there's no right thing to say right now.

Lena: That's all right. We don't have to talk. Being with you is enough.

Bianca: I can't --

Lena: I know. I know that I remind you of that horrible night, and I hate it. You can't look at me without seeing him, but maybe one day --

Bianca: Donít. Please don't.

Lena: I'm sorry. Tell me what I can do.

Bianca: I don't know. There's so much to think about right now. There's so many decisions to be made.

Lena: Ok, well, if you'd rather talk things through, I would love to listen, to help you any way I can. Just confide in me.

Bianca: I want to.

Lena: You can. Bianca, there's nothing you can't tell me. Remember? We can survive anything as long as -- as long as we're together.

David: Anna, for heaven's sakes, will you please just call me? You're going to make me crazy.

Anna: You're leaving me another message?

David: The third. So why didn't you answer?

Anna: Because this is better done face to face.

David: Hmm. No arresting officer. I'm encouraged.

Anna: Don't be.

David: Anna, hear me out. And don't jump to any rash decisions.

Anna: No, this is something that I should have done a long time ago. I just couldnít.

David: But what something you should have done a long time ago?

Anna: Well, it's over, David. Isn't it? I'm leaving. So I resigned. I'm no longer part of the Pine Valley police department. And as soon as Iíve put all my things together, I'm leaving here.

David: Oh, you got to be kidding me. This is what I get for finally being honest with you, for once? For telling you the truth, that I put a drug in Cambias' scotch?

Anna: This isn't punishment, David.

David: I apologize for upsetting you, all right? But I will not apologize for wanting that pathetic pervert killed!

Anna: donít. I don't want any apologies or explanations. I was in that hearing. I saw the smirk on Michaelís face over what he had done to that poor child.

David: Well, then, if you understand, what are you talking about?

Anna: I kept thinking of Leora. What if it had been our daughter or Robin that he had attacked? It could drive anyone who loved Bianca to do anything, even murder.

Bianca: I'm sorry.

Lena: It's all right.

Bianca: I want to, but --

Lena: You have someone to talk to, though, yes? Your mother? Your uncle?

Bianca: Yes, yes.

Lena: Good. That's all that matters to me -- that you can open up with someone whenever you need, and I know it might take you a very long time to forgive me for what I did, and I know you can't turn to me right now --

Bianca: Lena, please, don't say things like that.

Lena: Bianca, I've done some terrible things, things I never thought I was capable of.

Tad: Maybe when something works you shouldn't think about it. Maybe you should just go for it.

Jamie: Dad, can I have the car? Mom won't let me use hers.

Tad: Ok. News flash, Jamie -- you walk into the house. Look, there's someone here!

Jamie: Yeah, so can I?

Tad: Say hello, dipstick.

Jamie: Sorry. Hi.

Liza: Hi.

Jamie: Look, Dad, Mom's using her car, so I need yours.

Tad: Oh. Well -- since I won't be needing my car in Tahiti, then by all means. You can help yourself.

Jamie: Tahiti? You're going to Tahiti?

Tad: That's right. Liza and I are going to take a much-needed vacation.

Jamie: Way to go, Dad!

Tad: Stop it.

[Knock on door]

Opal: Oh, you're all in one piece. Is everybody ok here?

Tad: Why wouldn't we be?

Opal: Something is cosmically misaligned, and it's emanating from this house.

Tad: Yeah, maybe your turban's too tight.

Opal: Now, no lip! What is wrong here?

Jamie: Only that I don't get to go to Tahiti with Dad and Liza.

Opal: Tahiti? Tahiti? With -- with li-- ye gods and little fishes. Once again, my receptors are quivering right on target!

Opal: Excuse me, Liza.

Liza: Yes.

Opal: Now, didn't you tell me yourself that Jamie was at a critical stage?

Tad: Just relax, ok? It's just a vacation.

Opal: What are you doing?

Tad: What are you --

Opal: You can't go --

Jamie: Opal's freaking out because she's afraid Iím going to turn into Dad.

Liza: Hmm.

Jamie: I can only hope.

Liza: Well, only time will tell.

Jamie: You know, your hair, shorter like that -- it's kind of hot.

Liza: What is it?

Marian: Well, it's something you're probably going to need, but may not be readily available where you're going.

Opal: Marian, are you aiding and abetting this match made by Mephistopheles?

Marian: Well, you think I want my daughter to make the same mistake twice with Tad? Or should I say thrice with that womanizer?

Opal: Hold it right there. Tad is a wonderful man and father. You can't --

Marian: Oh, well, of course, Tad is so wonderful. He's proved that time and time again, hasn't he, Opal? Let's see -- if we put all the attractive women in Pine Valley into one room, you would probably be the only one he hasn't slept with -- ha-ha -- and you're his mother.

Jamie: Awesome!

Opal: Marian Colby, hold your mouth!

Marian: Chandler, thank you very much.

Liza: I can't believe you!

Opal: I will thank you very much to stop insulting my son in front of his son!

Jamie: I'm cool.

Opal: And I'll thank you to stop enjoying this so much!

Marian: What, you think he doesn't know? I'm sure Tadís exploits are still locker room legend at Pine Valley High.

Jamie: Pretty much. Dad's record still stands.

Tad: Don't help.

Greenlee: Thank God we got what we were after.

Juan Pablo: Why pretend to be glad? You've been crying.

Greenlee: No! They're tears of joy. Finally, she's out of my life.

Juan Pablo: You are entitled to those tears. You can throw things, scream.

Bianca: Don't dwell on the past, Lena. We both need to try to look ahead now.

Lena: Yeah, you're right. And, you know, thank God for you the worst of it is over now. Is there nothing I can do?

Bianca: I don't think so, but I appreciate this. I'm sorry that Iím still such a mess.

Anna: Aidan found this in Michaelís apartment. There's no question that it's Ericaís. I assume that you were trying to find it before we did.

David: So what happens now?

Anna: It's entirely up to you. Take it.

David: Anna, wait a minute. Did you resign because of this?

Anna: I no longer know what is right or wrong. I only know that I can't launch an investigation that is going to go after people that I care about.

David: So you just quit?

Anna: If I pursue this, it'll bring trouble to you and possibly Jackson and Erica. No, she's not my most favorite person in the world, but I am not going to put a mother in prison for protecting her child.

David: So you sacrificed your career to protect somebody else. Is that it?

Anna: I can't do my job.

David: Anna --

Anna: I have to get out.

David: Don't you see that we're both finally on the same side now! Wait a minute. Don't you understand that we shouldn't be pulling apart right now?

Anna: David --

David: You and I should be coming closer!

Anna: Donít.

David: Let me tell you something. Even if I knew that you had this, I never would have asked you for it, and I certainly wouldn't have expected you to give it to me. You can't act as if this doesn't mean anything. This is huge!

Anna: I can't argue that.

David: No, you can't argue that, and it's tearing you up inside. Anna, stay with me. Let me prove to you that you were right for believing in me. Stay. We can rebuild starting right now at this very minute, we can do that, but the only way we can do it is if you stay.

Opal: This is not about Tad. It never has been about Tad, Marian!

Marian: I beg to differ with you, darling. Tad sees what he wants and just takes it.

Opal: Yeah, I think that that pretty much describes you and your daughter's MO, Marian!

Marian: No, it does not!

Opal: Oh, no?

Jamie: They're winging it to Tahiti.

Tad: Talk about a narrow escape.

Liza: Yeah. You think they noticed?

Tad: Who cares? As far as I'm concerned, next stop, Paradise.

Liza: Remember that time when I tried to get you to go to Paris?

Tad: Me?

Liza: Oh, yeah, it was, I mean, a long time ago.

Tad: Liza, that was Venice, not Paris.

Tad: I know so, because you picked me up in a red convertible sports car, remember?

Liza: I think you're thinking about somebody else.

Tad: No, I'm not. I'd be the first to admit that, you know, my memory gets a little sketchy about some details, but Iím absolutely sure it was --

Liza: What? Did you remember your passport?

Tad: Yeah, it's right here. I was just, you know, I was thinking that things really didn't go well that time that we tried to run off together.

Liza: Well, I mean, nothing really went well. We were kids.

Tad: Yeah, but now, I mean, come on. We're adults. We're mature.

Liza: Yeah, we know what we're doing.

Tad: Next stop, Paradise.

Liza: Yeah.

Bianca: Lena was so tender, so concerned for me. She -- she really loves me, Maggie.

Maggie: But?

David: Yes, yes, we've suffered a terrible loss, a devastating trauma in our lives; but if we hold on to the fact that we really do love each other, Anna, we could work through this. If we're just careful with each other --

David: Anna, feelings change! They evolve! We could start rebuilding right now from this very moment.

Anna: No! You have to have reserves, and I don't. I don't have it. I hoped that I did and I kept trying to find whatever it takes, but, oh, God, David, I am empty.

Anna: I know!

David: That's not possible.

Anna: It's a horrible thing to say, and it's terrible to admit.

David: You know what this is really about? You still blame me.

Anna: Oh, no, I donít.

Anna: I don't want you to think that.

Anna: No. I lost -- I lost more of myself with Leora than I realized. I prayed that that wasn't so and I could get it back, and I keep trying to find the missing piece of me.

David: We can weather this, Anna. We can. We'll seek counseling. We'll work through this.

Anna: You know it's too late.

David: When the hell did you become so lazy not even to fight? I mean, are we worth it, Anna? If you ever really valued anything about us --

Anna: I'm not doing this lightly, David; and it's not you. I don't blame you. It's me, my heart. It's just shut down. Maybe it's temporary. Maybe I'll feel again or love someone the way they deserve; but it's not going to be here, now, with you.

David: So where's it going to be, hmm? Do you have an itinerary?

Anna: I'm going to go to Paris.

[David chuckles]

David: That's great. Oh, that's great. The city of lights and love -- good choice.

Anna: Yeah, well, I want to see robin, you know. I've really thought a lot about her since we lost Leora.

David: I never would have stopped you from going there to see her or living with her for as long as you wanted.

Anna: If we're going to get on with life and find reasons to do that, we have to be apart. If I wasn't so convinced that our lives depended on it, I wouldn't go. I'm so sorry that I couldn't -- I couldn't force this to work. I'm so sorry that I failed you, that I failed us.

David: No. Don't you ever say that. Do you hear me? You didn't, Anna! You couldn't have! It's just the way things worked out, that's all.

Greenlee: I don't want to move.

Juan Pablo: You don't have to.
